Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade Review (Marie Salamagne) 2015 + Delectable Rose Draw

Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade review

Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade (digital composition/editing by Despina Veneti©)

In the nearly three years I’ve been writing for Çafleurebon, I’ve reviewed them all: the Damask and the Centifolia, the green and the soliflore, the shy and the dewy, the fruity and the gourmand, the lipsticky and the ambery, the spicy and the oudy; along the way, I tried to accompany my rose-centric pieces with a variety of stories that travelled from Grasse to Cairo, from ancient Greece to the Renaissance, or from Isaac Newton’s scientific theories to the “Dune” sci-fi saga… After such rose hyper-activity, I sort of pledged to myself to take a short break from the undisputed Queen of flowers – if only to give us both a chance to miss one another! That was the plan, until Jovoy Paris sent me one of their thoughtfully curated sample boxes, its theme being none other than ROSE. Testing the strikingly varied fragrances included in the 14 Nuances de Rose Jovoy box, I found several ones calling out my name – but my heart skipped a beat when I came across a particular one. It was love at first sniff for Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade.

“The Rose”, Thea Proctor©, 1927

Created by in-House perfumer Marie Salamagne of Firmenich under the creative direction of Atelier Des Ors founder Jean-Philippe Clermont (read his Creative Director’s article by clicking on this link),. Rose Omeyyade was a part of the brand’s inaugural 2015 collection, and has – quite understandably – remained a customer favorite ever since. I say “understandably”, since the fragrance is to me an excellent example of how a genuinely niche creation can combine artistic value with universal appeal. Starting off with one of the most popular perfumery trends of the last decade, rose and oud, Mme Salamagne’s creative flair and sensibility ultimately delivered a fragrance that can effortlessly captivate, while epitomizing the House’s style. Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade pays a fragrant homage to the legendary Umayyad Dynasty, “narrated” through a Western olfactive point of view – in this case the timelessly elegant, French haute parfumerie tradition that is the catalyst of all the brand’s beautiful offerings.

Rose Omeyyade is one of the most popular fragrances from Atelier Des Ors and debuted in 2015

“Rose Rising” (digital collage by Despina Veneti©, based on a photo of the Umayyad Palace in Amman, Jordan)

Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade opens with a euphorically inviting, scrumptiously jammy Damask rose, infused with the youthful energy of tart-sweet raspberry and electrifying pink pepper. A brilliant accord of brown sugar, tastefully balanced and highly interactive, is present throughout the fragrance’s evolution, coloring the key ingredients in all sorts of fascinating gourmand shades. During the first hour, it progressively boosts the rose’s inherent deliciousness with a syrupy undercurrent, not unlike rose petal preserve; meanwhile, it generates a liqueur-like vibe that slightly ferments the fruity and floral notes. Once the dry, woody base develops, the sugar accord embellishes it with palatable nuances: the guaiac wood feels nutty, the patchouli cocoa-sprinkled, the oud dulcet-toned… Aided by honeyed amber and smooth suede leather accents, the rose’s initial ingénue-like appeal blossoms into more mature, yet infinitely refined, sensuality: ripe, fleshy and fully-bodied, the rose becomes so nectarous, delectable and tactile that it synaesthetically arouses several of the senses.

“Red Velvet Drama” by Helmut Newton©, c. 1960

Visually and texturally speaking, I see the rose’s transformation in Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade as changing from a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown. However, gentlemen should not be wary of the femininity of this metaphor: Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade is in fact a spectacularly adaptable, gender-bending, all-embracing fragrance that has proved stunning on everybody I’ve tested it. Its glowing, far-reaching charm fills me with profound aesthetic satisfaction – of the kind that is elicited by widely perceivable, yet no less remarkable, beauty.

Notes: Rose, Raspberry, Pink Pepper; Brown Sugar, Patchouli, Guaiac Wood; Agarwood, Amber, Sandalwood.

One of my top three Rose fragrances, it is sublime, totally sublime. it is always a rare treat to read Despina and this is no exception, her voyage in the dry down especially. Thank you dear Despina for a moment of the remembered embrace. I live in SW France . How to have favourites from Atelier des Ors, virtually impossible as tehy are all spectacular. Riviera Drive, Lune Feline, Bois Sika to name a few.

  • Julesinrose says:

This is a another house I have not tried any of and wonder why not.

Rose is undoubtedly my favorite note, but I, too, must sometimes take a break. Even with a fairly good collection of rose frags at home, I’m always on the lookout for a new one and I would be surprised if I don’t I like this one. How could I not be moved by “infinitely refined, sensuality: ripe, fleshy and fully-bodied. . .so nectarous, delectable and tactile that it synaesthetically arouses several of the senses?!!” Wow!

I’m in Maine, US where the wild roses are now in bloom. Thanks for the beautiful review and drawing.

  • I really liked Despina’s visual description of the rose’s transformation: “as changing from a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown.” I don’t have a favorite Atelier Des Ors fragrance, as I don’t know any of their fragrances. I live in Italy.

  • Oh my gosh, I think this is the most fascinated and excited I have been for a draw! I am starting to test a few things from Atelier des Ors and they have all been winners. If I had to choose my favorite would be choeur des angel, it is just so lovely and evolves beautifully on the skin. I loved the images chosen in Despina’s review, as well as the very evocative description of rose and the dress imagery. This sounds divine!!! Thank you for the draw, from Canada!

  • Thank you Despina, I enjoyed your delve into the style of this house, since it is one I have not had a chance to try yet! I am always on the lookout for a beautiful rose fragrance! Thanks from Canada!

  • As usual, Despina describes the experience of wearing a perfume so that I feel it, too. A rose transforming from chiffon to velvet is so evocative! Lune Feline is a beauty; I would love to try Rose Omeyyade. I live in the US.

  • I have many samples from Atelierdesors. I fell in love with the Rose . It’s not your grandma rose fragrance. It’s definitely made to be unisex. I definitely would love to have this beautiful fragrance and lovely bottle in my collection ❤️ @maryjeannyc Thank you for this chance.

  • When I first saw and read about Atelierdesors fragrances I was so impressed with the bottle and gold shaving. Now the scent so many to choose. The Rose did stand out , modern definitely unisex. Truly a Rose you will want to own in your fragrance collection. @maryjeannyc

  • Unfortunately, I am still developing a fragrance collection and have not had a chance to try anything from this house. Their bottles are stunning. I am still on a search for a rose that speaks to me, and this may be the one. In maryland.

  • Despina took the reader on a journey with the detail of the fragrance. I love a jammy rose perfume, and the dry down of this one sounds beautiful! The only fragrance I own from this line is Lune Feline, and it’s a stunner! I love the presentation with the gold flecks inside.

  • Despina’s description of Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade is so enveloping with the Rose, Rasberry, and Draping gown, it has drawn me into a stuper of love for Red Roses. I would love to try this one as Rose is a favorite scent for me. I do love Lune Feline from this house but this sounds amazing and beautiful. USA

  • Despina says that Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade has a jammy rose that goes through different stages. It may seem feminine from description but she encourages men to try it, too as it has unisex elements. I am in US

  • joshuabrian says:

I liked the the imagery of the perfume to the dress changing into a gown. Beautiful stuff and beautiful brand! I have smelled Musc Immortel and it was divine! I’m in Indiana, USA

  • Uncle1979 says:

Despina review of Rose Omeyyade reminded me of making, and eating Pistachio & Rose water Semolina Cake with real rose water , and raspberries on top of it.
Smelled 2 Atelier des Ors creations and Lune Feline is my favorite , even though Bois Sikar is pretty good too.
For every gourmand and vanilla lover – try Lune Feline, it’s part of my collection. One of the best vanilla fragrance ever created . I know vanilla well , being traditionally trained in Paris Pastry Chef.
Remindes me of Cinnamon and cardamom rolls, every Pastry Chef learns as a beginner. I sell a lot at the bakery. The fragrance is also quite smoky.
Appreciate Despina review, and the giveaway campaign

  • NickKnack says:

This sounds like a rare gem rose which could be worn in the same setting by both men and women! I really enjoyed that Despina pointed out that the men reading this should not be weary and how she described the elegance! Thanks for the coupon code, I’ve never owned an Atelier d’ors perfume and would love this one along with the Lune Feline from the code 🙂

  • Up until the last couple of sentences in Despina’s review, I was loving her take but dreading what read like the extreme feminity of Rose Omeyyade – making it almost unwearable as a man. I’ll take her reassurance that men too can pull it off as I appreciate well-blended and somewhat original takes on rose-oud duos. My favorite Atelier Des Ors is Lune Feline EDP; can’t wait to try the extrait. VA, USA

  • Rose Omeyyade sounds delicious with its raspberry and brown sugar notes. And those golden flakes! I enjoy wearing unisex fragrances and I’m adding this fragrance to my wishlist. Thanks for the draw! Mich USA

  • It’s really great review about particular Rose Scent! Love everything about it, words of description, your digital collage “Rose Rising”, your visual imagination of transformation in Atelier Des Ors “Rose Omeyyade” “as changing from a bright red chiffon dress, into a deep crimson velvet”! Bravo Despina!
I have several fragragrance from Atelier Des Ors, Line Feline and Riviera Drive, beautiful creations by Mari Salamagne. The presentation of the bottle simply stunning!
Thank you for wonderful review Despina and for exating draw!

This sounds delicious and beautiful! I love a rose scent and I love that this one mixes in fruity and woody notes. This review makes me really want to fall in love with it. I don’t know this house, but I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. I’m in NYC.

  • What I enjoyed most from Despina’s review was her description of how the brown sugar note is present throughout the life of the fragrance. I really enjoy how this pairs with the damask rose element she described.

My favorites of atelier des ors so far are rosé omeyyade, lune féline, and rouge saray.

    I live in Oregon, USA.

  • Bubeto_GG says:

I know most Atelier des Ors fragrances, but Rose Omeyyade I’m not familiar with. Jammy rose, liqueur vibe , tart raspberries, all sprinkled with cocoa powder, sounds fantastic. I’ll order samples of Rose Omeyyade, and the other Atelier des Ors fragrances I don’t know.
My gold medal for the best Atelier des Ors fragrance goes to Bois Sikar , silver one to Lune Feline, and bronze to Iris Fauve.
    Thanks a lot

My favorite part of Despina’s review is this description: as changing from a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown. My favorite from Atelier Des Ors is Lune Feline. It was love at first sniff. I’m located in California USA.

  • Nom de Guerre says:

Thank you for the interesting read. A genderless rose would be a great addition to my collection. I haven’t tried Rose Omeyyade but so far, Iris Fauve is my favorite. Greetings from Riga, Latvia.

  • The rose is the queen of flowers, being the synonym of class and beauty from the beginning of times, whether it is used for its fragrant purposes or for skincare and not only, and rose fragrances are a classic and an evergreen in any person’s fragrant wardrobe.
Therefore, I am happy when I can smell any interpretation of rose in a perfume, be it youthful, green and dewy or spicy, mature and opulent, and I am especially fascinated when it can be both, as Despina described Rose Omeyyade to be.
I am writing from the EU.
    Thanks!

  • I loved the daring description of this apparently dashing perfume. I would love to try it, as I love rose in perfumes in all combinations. I haven’t tested anything from Atelier des Ors. I live in Romania, EU.

  • I love Marie Salamange’s work and Atelier des Ors creations,my favourite so far is Lune Feline, this rose centred Rose Omeyyade lures me as a shaded gourmand ! Thanks for the review and the generous draw, from EU!

  • NituNicolae says:

The brown sugar accord is amazing, i have smelled this before in a By Killian fragrance. I find rose to be a very good unisex note, even tho many people consider it rather feminine. Out of the Atelier Des Ors fragrance line up, the most mysterious one i think is Larmes du Desert. A great review, as always. I live in Romana.

  • As a gentleman I would love to try and see how this fragrance adapts as a gender-bending, all-embracing fragrance that will prove stunning on me as well 🙂 Loved the description and I really think that honeyed amber and smooth suede leather accents would accompany rose quite well. Really looking forward to trying this! Living in the EU

  • I am a rose guy through and through. I am convinced to try this now. I really enjoyed Lune Feline from Atelier des Ors in the past. Thanks for the draw. From Canada.

  • Christos GX says:

Great review, i liked the description of the fragrance, the history behind and the amazing pictures.Atelier Des Ors has some amazing fragrances in their portfolio, but my favorite is Cuir Sacre.I live in Greece

  • macaroni023 says:

Thank you Despina for beautiful vivid smell description. Perfume sounds so French and sensual. Lately I grew to love more sweet rosy perfumes and this sounds like a such a treat. Unfortunately I haven’t’ tried any of Atelier Des Ors fragrances, but no it is defiantly on my to do list.
Also once again thank you for the draw, greetings from Lithuania

  • patrick_348 says:

I liked the idea that a rose fragrance that leans toward sweetness can still have subtlety and nuance and be unisex. I have never tried a Atelier des Ors fragrance, but this one sounds like it would be great fun to wear. I live in the US, in North Carolina.

  • Thanks Despina for this review and your love for Roses that you share with us! I was yesterday wandering around Rose Garden in Madrid and trying the different scents of the varieties..it is intoxicating! It is not my favourite note in perfumery, but I love to smell the flowers! .I haven´t tried Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade but Despina´s love declaration is the signal to try it. My last rose perfume was Lustre by Hiram Green, but Rose Omeyyade is different: the rose’s initial ingenuity appeal transitions to a refined sensuality. As a Gentleman, I am not afraid of it, but ready to embrace it! My favourite fragrance from Atelier Des Ors is Bois Sikar, a great boozy smoky scent . Thanks for the chance, I live in Spain, EU

  • I really appreciated Despina including the meaning of the word Omeyyade. I went online to read what the Umayyad Dynasty was. It gave me a complete understanding of how this fragrance was imagined. While I’ve never found a rose fragrance that I felt was quite “me” how in the world would someone not want to try this? It sounds gorgeous and the bottle is absolutely stunning. I have sampled Lune Feline and thought it was decadent. Definitely a bottle of that in my future! Thanks for the review and the history lesson. :). In the USA.

  • Despina’s description is really inviting. When a fragrance is able to play not only with our sense of smell but also invited to the party the other senses too. It’s inmy humble opinion when parfumery is at its finest. My favorites from this brand are the well know “Lune Féline” and ” Musc Immortel” From France

  • I appreciated the description of the fragrance through textures. For some reason, I always find that very helpful in allowing me to picture the scent, especially one like this that “changes” over time. My favourite Atelier des Ors is Lune Feline, which is one of the few vanillas that works for me.

Being Atelier des Ors fanboy I have smelled all their fragrances, including the two Extrait editions of Rose Omeyyade and Lune Feline .
To be precise there are 3 versions of Rose Omeyyade:
    1. Original Rose Omeyyade, Despina is so impressed by
    2. Rose Omeyyade Extrait
    3. Rose Omeyyade Extrait, Artisanal Edition with fantastic , piece of art looking custom bottles.
Usually I like to share my own thoughts on fragrances I know, this time I’m on the same page with Despina. The only minor difference in our views , is on my skin Rose Omeyyade is not semi , but full time gourmand.
If you love Rose Omeyyade, also try the Extrait. To me if Rose Omeyyade is 9/10 , the Extrait is 10/10. Very few places do carry the Extrait versions through, Jovoy, Saks and just a few others.
If I have to rate my favorite Atelier des Ors fragrances:
    1. Rose Omeyyade Extrait
    2. Lune Feline Extrait
    3. Bois Sikar
Dana , Cafleurebon , and Atelier des Ors I already follow on Instagram. I also follow Jean-Philippe Clermont. Thanks
USA only, for now at least

  • This fragrance seems like it would be a very enjoyable one to me; I’ve been wanting a rose-centric fragrance, but one that would be most enjoyable, and according to this review, this fragrance seems like it would be of that nature. I am interested to see how the rose is in combination with all of the other notes, especially the raspberry, the pink pepper, the brown sugar, and the patchouli. I truly want to try this one and I hope to win it. I’ve only heard of this fragrance house; I haven’t tried any of their releases yet. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Nice review by Despina. Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade seems to be a lovely perfume from Despina’s description and the listed notes. It’s good to know that everyone can wear this perfume. I have not tried anything by this house, yet. Thanks for the review and offer. Writing from the USA.

I have been wanting to try Rose Omeyyade for quite some time now. In fact, I have contemplated blind buying this for a while now. I have had this in and out of my cart so many different times, it is not even funny! Eventually, she WILL be mine! Despina, as always, has done a phenomenal job selling me on yet another fragrance. (Although she didn’t really have to with this one…) “my heart skipped a beat when I came across a particular one. It was love at first sniff for Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade.” Rose happens to be ONE of my favorite notes in perfumery. I have so many favorites, but a good rose really gets me excited. Despina’s statement about her heart skipping a beat just has me in awe, and wanting to get this beauty yet again! This just made my day to see Despina’s review on CaFleureBon. I felt like a kid in a candy shop because this just reassures me that I am making the right choice in longing for this beauty! Atelier des Ors has several fragrances I love… Rouge Saray is stunning and has lovely plum note with honey that I just adore. I own a bottle of Lune Feline and, let me tell you, that is a fantastic vanilla… one that garnishes many compliments! Thank you Despina, again, for your take and thoughts on Rose Omeyyade. Thank you for the beautiful visuals as well. They go great with the theme of the fragrance. A huge thank you goes to Atelier Des Ors for your generosity and for this super awesome opportunity. I am definitely grateful for this one! (I’m grateful for any opportunity, but this one especially!!) Thank you, as always, goes to Michelyn, for making all of this happen! You are such a blessing and great at what you do. Thank you for bringing us CaFleureBon, these amazing opportunities, and the great fragrant content we get to read on a daily basis. Sending warm wishes and gratitude from Delaware, US. Good luck all and stay safe my fragrant friends!

  • GennyLeigh says:

Rose and oud is indeed a popular combination but in my estimation is rarely interesting or blended well. I like Atelier Des Ors use of the suede and leather notes and brown sugar to focus on the elegance of the duo. The bottle is a jewel. I’ve never tried any Atelier Des Ors fragrances before.

  • Despina always writes so nicely and great photos.
I own Lune Feline and would love to get my nose on this

  • Andrei Artimon says:

Realy love the house , have many of they re offerings . This sourds right up my alley , would love to on the winning end of this one . New york , usa .

  • Great read absolutely sounds delectable …who doesn’t love a proper done rose fragrance ,the notes are some of my favourite and I like how it can be worn for whatever gender. Ive yet to try anything from this house but I think I definitely will search out samples now 😉

Thanks for generous giveaway and fabulous article .

I live in USA

  • Laurentiu says:

My favourite from the house of Atelier des Ors is Lune Feline, but I am curious about Rose Omeyyade as I know they have high quality perfumes and I am a sucker for rose. Thank you!

  • Despina’s reviews always have a beautiful style of writing in them. They always evoke a feeling that fragrance gives you and in turn – describes the fragrances also. I think that the ending paragraph is a beautiful piece of writing and makes me even more excited to try out this perfume. I love Atelier des Ors, my favourite being Couer des Deserts, hopefully Rose Omeyyade will become my new favourite! I live in Croatia, EU.

  • This perfume sounds like something everyone can enjoy, as it has universal appeal. I also liked this bit of information: Starting off with one of the most popular perfumery trends of the last decade, rose and oud, Mme Salamagne’s creative flair and sensibility ultimately delivered a fragrance that can effortlessly captivate, while epitomizing the House’s style.

Since Despina has written about so many rose fragrances and this one makes her heart skip a beat….. I am curious. Love the twists and turns this fragrance takes. Love the discount…I have a sample from this line I need to revisit and maybe take advantage of. Nice to have a month to decide. Thanks!!! I haven’t smelled many of this line, but now I have time to get my hands on more samples. USA.

  • Such a powerful review! As a fellow rose lover, that has tried so many different concoctions based on the Queen of Flower, I loved Despina’s description of a randomly found love at first sniff. I always enjoy learning some facts about perfumers and houses that release the specific fragrance. However, a highlight of Despina’s review for me is a wonderful description of the olfactory path of Rose Omeyyade.
Thank you for a generous draw and an inspiring review. I have not had an opportunity to sniff any of Atelier Des Ors fragrances, but I am sure that will change soon. Greetings from Slovenia.

  • Camelcutza says:

I enjoyed the comparison of the transformation of the rose from a flirty dress to a dramatic gown . Who doesn’t love a little drama?
I love Lune Feline and live in Romania, Europe

  • Love rose fragrances but I especially like the notes in this that has a woody drydown. I loved the final description as being “as changing from a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown.”
    I don’t own any Atelier fragrances so I don’t have a favorite.
    I live in the USA.

  • kramerongo says:

I agree with Despina s review about damask rose. I test it and it smells so lovely. My favorite is Damask rose and can be unisex fragrance. I am in Sweden EU

  • fleurdetilleul says:

Rose is one of my favourite predominant notes in perfumery and I’m still searching for THE ONE! The metaphor used by Despina where she compares the development of Rose Omeyyade as a chiffon dress turning into a velvet gown is very expressive and illuminating for a nose that has never tried this perfume and wonders how it might smell. I’m very curious about this house as I never had the opportunity to try Atelier Des Ors before, I haven’t seen people in the fragrance community in my country owning a bottle either, so I can’t tell which is my favourite. I live in the EU. Thank you for the chance to finally try something from this house and to find THAT ONE rose for me!

  • I enjoyed learning that there are other rose-obsessed people out there 😀 I always think I have too many rose fragrances, swiftly followed by “there is no such thing as too many rose fragrances…” I love learning more about Atelier des Ors’ rose because I’ve been eyeing it for quite some time now. Otherwise I haven’t tried anything from the house yet. Thank you for the draw!
    I live in the EU.

  • I love reading Despina’s reviews–her descriptions are so evocative. I love the metaphor she uses of the perfume changing from “a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown.” The fact that she was so taken by Atelier De Ors Rose Omeyyade tells me that I must get my nose on it. There are several Atelier De Ors fragrances that are on my “for test” list, but I haven’t had the pleasure of trying any of the house’s offerings yet. I am steadily checking houses and fragrances off of my lists as I am able to smell and test them, but the lists seem to grow faster than I am able to acquire samples, decants and bottles. It’s a wonderful problem to have, though: innumerable perfumes that I want to smell. I live in the midwestern United States. Thanks for the opportunity and the lovely content, as always, Cafleurbon.

  • This house is a house which intrigues me a lot! They do have some interesting bottles with the gold flakes inside, and I imagine that when there is gold inside in solid state, it also must be in liquid form!
I am in the EU. Thanks!

  • ElenaChiss says:

My favorite from the house of Atelier des Ors is Iris Fauve. If Rose Omeyyade is a take on rose as good as it is Iris Fauve on iris, then we have another winner.
Thank you for the review and the giveaway!

  • The listed notes sound wonderful, but the review catches many other facets that could be missed: cocoa, leather… And such a glowing review means a lot, coming from one of your many experienced critics, especially distinguishing among so many worthy scents. I don’t believe I’ve tried anything from Atelier Des Ors before. (USA)

  • wandering_nose says:

What an appealing piece of writing from Despina! I have been taken on a wonderful fragrant journey. I love how she mapped the transition of the composition from young, girly and flirty through more grown-up and delectable (the gourmand aspects) to full-blown mature, deep and seductive. The notes sound amazing and the houses’ bottles are simply beyond stunning. I have not had the chance to try Atelier Des Ors creations as of yet but Lune Feline has been on my to-try list and is now joined by Rose Omeyyade. Thank you from Ireland, EU

  • Bryant Worley says:

This part of Despina’s review, where she made the fragrance sound mouthwatering, is what O enjoyed most: “Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade opens with a euphorically inviting, scrumptiously jammy Damask rose, infused with the youthful energy of tart-sweet raspberry and electrifying pink pepper. A brilliant accord of brown sugar, tastefully balanced and highly interactive, is present throughout the fragrance’s evolution, coloring the key ingredients in all sorts of fascinating gourmand shades. During the first hour, it progressively boosts the rose’s inherent deliciousness with a syrupy undercurrent, not unlike rose generates a liqueur-like vibe that slightly ferments the fruity and floral notes. Once the dry, woody base develops, the sugar accord embellishes it with palatable nuances: the guaiac wood feels nutty, the patchouli cocoa-sprinkled, the oud dulcet-toned…”

I haven’t, to my recollection, remember wearing any Atelier des Ors (but I think I just can’t remember), but I will be wearing Cuir Sacre today. I don’t have a favorite, just some I want to try.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • Modern take on “One Thousand and One Nights” . Despina review was like a folktale with French and Arabic elements mixed in .
Rose Omeyyade is my favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance , I know it , and Despina review was on point , trully opulent and slightly sweet rose , with thick woody drydown.
I have not smelled it on a woman , only on guys , but the base is really woody . Maybe it’s sweeter on female skin?
Thanks to Atelier Does Ors for the chance, and to Despina for her review.

Wow I don’t even know what to say. This sounds like all of the best parts of a rose fragrance. I’m loving your metaphor of going from a chiffon dress to velvet gown. This sounds glorious. I also think a rose sampler sounds like fun. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the USA.

Rose Omeyyade I have no experience with, but I know Lune Feline and Rouge Saray , and if Despina is calling it “the ROSE” I have to say my expectations are HIGHER than ever. Such multilayered fragrance, candy rose , suede leather, honeyed amber and some fruits. What can I say, but Wow .
I’ll get a sample, and if I like it just as much , I’ll 100% use the CAFB20 promo code.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

Thank you very much Despina for this great review! I am absolutely in love with Damask Rose and would like to try a fragrance from Atelier des Ora, a brand I have been reading about a lot but that I don’t know. This fragrance feels so chic and Sensual, it would be a dream to be the lucky winner! Greetings from Italy

  • Since I’ve sampled Atelier des Ors , i have to say Iris Fauve, Rose Omeyyade , Lune Feline and Rouge Saray stood up to me the most.
Iris Fauve is what I decided to buy, from Germany, because the fragrance is not available at the places I trust the most, Luckyscent and Osswald .
To my taste Rose Omeyyade is second best Atelier des Ors, dark rose with molasses and sandalwood.
    Thanks for the draw

To me Atelier Des Ors equals class , beauty and creativity , but most importantly equals Lune Feline . If i have to describe it with one word it will be phenomenal, gourmand notes are present, but still restrained, spices , tea , nice vanilla .
Not only it smells gorgeous , but gets me huge amount of compliments. I do not wear fragrances for compliments , but it’s nice to get noticed .
Rose Omeyyade is everything Despina said it is , plus smoky incense maybe? I had 5ml decant, and on me the smoky part is noticeable. I’m surprised incense is not mentioned.
Thanks Despina – good job , and of course thanks to Atelier Der Ors .

  • To me, trying something new is exciting, especially if it is a fragrance built around rose (as I love rose) and if it comes from Atelier des Ors then I am sure is it something different (in a good way) indeed. My favorite from them is Lune Feline. Many thanks for the review and the giveaway!

  • Enjoyed the article. I haven’t tried Rose Umayyad but it sounds Really Good. The jammy rose with a combination of other notes. I’m still on the hunt for a Favorite Rose fragrance and I have a feeling this might be at the top.
Hope I get the chance to. Thanks, Ca

    Thanks for review!
My favourite part is “…Rose Omeyyade as changing from a bright red, flowy and flirty, chiffon dress, into a deep crimson, draped and dramatic, velvet gown.“
What a beautiful description. I can only imagine how great it can smell.

What I enjoyed about Despina’s review of Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. Is how Despina describes this western and modern take on a Rose and Oud fragrance. Her beautifully descriptive review of a beautiful sweet jammy fruity rose, almost gourmand leaning sugary heart, with a nice wearable oud and captivating guiac wood in the base. My favorite Atelier Des Ors fragrance is Rouge Saray. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • I loved Despina’s description of Rose Omeyyade’s transformation from a chiffon dress into a velvet gown! I just sampled it a few days ago, and was stunned by its metamorphosis into an airy, diffusive petally rose into a deep, honeyed rose heart. It is indeed a complex, yet accessible niche offering.

My favourite Atelier des Ors fragrances would probably be Pomelo Riviera, Riviera Lazuli, and Rose Omeyyade of course. I live in France and would love to win this. Thank you for the giveaway!
