Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade, Vero Kern Rozy and Curionoir Purotu Rose + Tournament of Roses Part 2

Lady Dacre 1633, Sir Anthony Van Dyck

In the bounteous beauty of an overfilled Rose bowl, how the subtle variations delight me, I want all, sweet demure roses of innocence and purity juxtaposed with blousy, overblown damsels whose caution is flung to the wind, to the downright intoxicating, decadence of spicy, rich and opulent roses of deep hues that herald an addiction. I must I admit veer towards the decadent and mysterious, the deeply emotive and aesthetically strident roses for Valentine’s Day.

Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade 2015, (Marie Salamagne): I come back to the stunning creation, Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade, from time after time, when I wish to be enticed and led astray. Its initial welcome is a little deceiving in a delightful mischievous way, bright and coy, the Rose Buds and Pepper, enveloped in a cloak of Raspberry, with a light sweet attribute. It is the sweet innocence that beguiles with alluring fingers that take me off on an adventure.  For the progression is more delicious in the plunge ‘down the rabbit-hole’. I revel in the secretiveness and the divulgence of Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade intimate core. The Patchouli and Gaiac smooth over the Sucre d’Amore and render a far more ‘adult ‘tone as the base of exotic Woods and Amber ooze with a charm that is all seduction and the shocking realisation that the underskirts of this modest sweetness is all layered temptation and fascinating magnetism.

Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade is available @osswaldnyc

CuiroNoir Purotu Rose 2018 (Tiffany Jeans): I fell head over heels with Curionoir Purotu Rose from first inhale, not only for its intense olfactory offering but for the interwoven inspiration that exudes like the airs from rain- soaked petals, awash with tears. Tiffany’s Maori heritage is foundational to her creations and when I sat in her curious and inviting studio listening to the story, I was transfixed.  It is risen from the moments captured at her Grandfathers Tangi, the roses flanking the entrance, their lives represented, all buds, all full and all blown, enveloped with the scent of newly dug earth and smoky vapours from the feast pit. So much more than a eulogisement, the Rose Otto and Rose de Mai, intense and enveloping, emanate deep beauty in a most pure, melancholic, motionlessness that stills and is an unadulterated emotion.  I am touched always by its clarity and resonance, swathed in profound Orange, Cumin and Pepper, aromatics that elevate the Rose to higher estate. Vetiver and Wood retain an earthly connection, with Purotu Rose’s inception whilst the Rose surges in poignancy and exhibits a Beauty untainted.

Ermano’s Vero Profumo Rozy Extrait©

Vero Profumo Rozy Extrait (Vero Kern) 2014: Vero Kern’s love for Italy was no mystery and for a dramatic rose Vero took her inspiration from stunning Anna Magnani in The Rose Tattoo. Larger than life charisma and earthy simmering sensuality, Magnani comes alive  rendered in Rozy parfum to a blooming rose with an animalic honey coating that glows in spectacular hues like a coral dusk blurred by purple clouds. Its make-up powdery trail cannot hide the wrinkles of neorealism, ending up in an even more breathtaking final cut. Notes: Rose, tuberose, blackcurrant, honey, spices, sandalwood, labdanum. Are there other roses for Valentine’s Day? Not for me.

Very limited supply, cherish if you own it

Ermano Picco, Editor (RIP Vero Kern)

  • I believe Curionoir Purotu Rose appeals to me the most in today’s Tournament Danu’s review brought me to Tiffany’s studio where roses grew outside and smoke from the feast pit rose in the air. I live in the US.

  • Both rose fragrances appeal to me, the innocent and kind of mysterious Rose Omeyyade and the orange, earthy rose scent of Curionoir Purity Rose , I love that its kind of a celebration of the pefumers grandfather
If I had to choose it would be Rose Omeyyade! I live in the US.

  • Thank you for the lovely review! I use these fragrance reviews like a page in a poetry book. It makes the day brighter for me. I think the Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade sounds beautiful. The raspberry note sounds delicious. I’d love a chance to win it. In the USA

  • I would love to win Rose Omeyade by Atelier des Ors as I am reading only good stuff about this house on every forum I visit and every video I watch. Also I am a big fan of Marie Salamagne’s creations.

    Thank you!

  • Great descriptions! I would love to try Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade rose and raspberry sounds amazing! Rose is one of my favorite notes and my favorite rose is portrait of a lady by frederick malle. Thanks for the giveaway I am in Arizona in the USA.

  • VerbenaLuvvr says:

I would of course love to try both, they sound like phenomenal examples of rose fragrance. Curionoir Purotu Rose appeals to me the most, as rose de mai is a favorite rose scent, and accented with orange and spice can only enhance its beauty, so that would be my selection. I live in the US and thank you for this lovely draw.

  • Very tough decision this round… but I lean towards Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. The raspberry note sounds interesting, would like to get wrapped up in that cloak!

    Canada

  • Truthfully, Rozy sounds amazing: “like a coral dusk blurred by purple clouds.” So that would be my tournament winner. But of the two that are offered in the draw, I would like to win the Ateliers des Ors. Fan of Marie Salamagne! I am the USA! Thank you Cafleurebon and the sponsors!

  • Roses are pretty to look at and smell wonderful. I have a few rose perfumes that I love but several more would certainly be nice. Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade – ” mischievous” with a “cloak of raspberry” would be the one for me. Live in the US.

  • I love rose perfumes (my favorite floral.) The am so intrigued by the way Danu described the influence of Tiffany Jeans’s Maori heritage on her perfumery. I would love the chance to win a bottle of CuiroNoir Purotu Rose.

Thank you Ermano for the tribute to the honeyed rose beauty of Vero Kern’s Rozy. Your esteem and affection for Vero comes through. May she rest in peace.

While the Rozy Extrait sounds very intriguing, I would love to wear the Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. Thanks for the drawing! USA

  • Roses, roses, and more roses!!! They are my favorite flower in my garden. Even when neglected, they bloom.Rose Omeyyade is my choice, because it sounds like the notes unfold just like a precious rose. USA

  • Grandiflora says:

The Valentine’s Day Rose from today’s Tournament that appeals to me most are the rose buds found in Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade! I’m drawn to the rose that “is the sweet innocence that beguiles with alluring fingers”. I would love to be taken on my own adventure. I would like to win the bottle of Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. I’m in the U.S.

  • fazalcheema says:

Vero’s Rozy and Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade are most intriguing. I really hope Vero’s line is kept alive. Rose Omeyyade is not just about rose but also tries to add winey effects through notes like rasberry. It does seem like a fragrance for fun occasions. My choice is Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. I am in US.

  • patrick_348 says:

I love the description of the Curionoir Porutu Rose. I like the idea that it is born of a scent memory that is personal to the perfumer. I like that it seems to be aiming to capture a place, not just a flower. I live in the USA.

  • batandcamel says:

I am very interested in Rose Omeyyade based on the description and would like to enter to win that one. It sounds heavenly. I am from the USA

  • Dubaiscents says:

I haven’t heard of the Curionoir brand before, I would love to try a new rose scent that has such personal links to the perfumer. I agree that rozy is one of the most amazing rose scents and still can’t believe Vero is gone. Thanks for mentioning it here. I am in the US.

  • I already know Bois Sikar which I like very much from Atelier des Ors and I expect their rose offering to be even better, therefore I pick Rose Omeyade if I were to win. I am from Europe. Thank you!

  • I think about Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. It seems look like a very interesting gift on this special day. Thank you for the chance.

Hi, I would love to win Rose Omeyade by Atelier des Ors as I am reading only good stuff about this. The perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.
    I’m from EU.

    Thank you!

  • doveskylark says:

I have always loved Anna Magnani and “The Rose Tattoo.” Magnani seemed so in love with life, life in all its sensuality and earthiness. I need to get a bottle of Rozy this Valentine’s Day.
For this draw, I would choose CuiroNoir Purotu Rose.
    I live in the USA.

  • I haven’t gotten my nose on any of these fragrances. After Ermino’s review of Rozy, I wish I had a bottle to cherish. I would love to win Rose Omeyade, Danu caught my attention with “temptation and magnetism” and I adore most anything with Guiaic wood. Thanks for another great read in the series. USA

  • My choice for the 2nd tournement of roses would be Curionoir Purotu Rose. I’m a huge lover of roses and lately I seem to love my roses on the cooler side. This one sounds right up my alley. I can imagine Danu fell head over heels with this perfume, just looking at these notes… yummy. I live in EU. Thanks for this wonderful draw.

  • On this second day of the Tournament of Roses, I’d choose Rose Omeyyade of Atelier des Ors. It’s Danu’s description that excited me- ‘..the sweet innocence that beguiles with alluring fingers that take me off on an adventure.’ Thanks for another opportunity. – CA, USA

  • Thank you for another great article and draw about rose perfume.
Mostly I like discripton of Rose Omeyyade- so beautiful rose-fruty- little peppery. Bottle is amazing.
I would like to win Rose Omeyyade.
    From Armenia.

  • What a intrigued description of Vero Profumo Rozy Extrait- perfume inspired by legendary Magnani- deep, sensual rose with animalic honey.
    Sounds very beautiful!!
I would like to win Rose Omeyyade, wich is so beautiful rose.
    from US

  • Wonderful review. These perfumes sounds fabulously. If I would be as lucky to win. My choice is Rose Omeyyade. I live in Europe. Thank you for the draw.

  • Wonderful review, these perfumes sounds fabulously. If I would be as lucky to win, my choice would be Rose Omeyyade. I live in Europe. Thank you for the draw.

  • Such good reviews, but yet almost too short! It makes one wish that the author had gone more in depth to describe the ravishing beauty of these fragrances, but yet it is impossible to verbally elucidate something that is best experienced. Although all three fragrances are sure to be wonderful, Rose Omeyyade sounds the most intriguing to me with the use of amber in the base. It would be a great pleasure to win a bottle of this. Thanks so much for another giveaway! I’m in Oregon, USA.

  • As I have a love for a few of the Atelier des Ors, I think I would throughly enjoy the Rose Omeyyade. I know very little of Curionoir as a brand, so I shall research happily today. Always exciting to learn of a new perfumer.

So, Rose Omeyyade as my choice, and I live in Australia.

  • Hail to the tournament of roses! I have one of these lucky me, Vero Profumo Rozy Extrait and I do cherish it. Some good selections in this line up as well. Would love the Rose Omeyyade. Great job team. This is getting interesting

  • Those notes linked to CuiroNoir Purotu Rose is extremely enticing. I do love rose fragrances, and the aromatics associated with this fragrance talks to me.
    Thanks for the opportunity!
    I live in the USA.

  • Thank-You Danu I’m for mystery and decadence also. I would normally I feel gravitate toward Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade and your description justifies that. I’m interested in Tiffany Jeans also maybe I can order a decant of Curionoir Purotu Rose and of Ermanos review Vero Profumo Rozy Extrait they both sound delish. Thank-You for the reviews and the chance to win a bottle! USA

  • RaePerfumeSoul says:

I always like the smell of air after rain. Also the few on rose!!
I would love to try Rose Omeyyade.

    In UK.

  • Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade (which I’d love to win) appeals to me more, and here’s why: I like that Danu calls it “mischievous” and that’s how I prefer my rose scents: no love for linear roses.

Thank you for the draw. Russia

  • I would love to win the Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade. I think I prefer the combination of notes in that particular fragrance. Loved the review and the opportunity of the draw. thanks so much. I’m in the USA

  • Love this tournament! They all sound beguiling – so beautiful! It’s a difficult choice since I’ve not smelled any of them – but I’m drawn to select the Atelier Des Ors because of the description of the Rose Omeyyade – “underskirts of this modest sweetness is all layered temptation and fascinating magnetism”. My my! Thank you for the chance, in the US.

  • All three sound amazing but I would go for the Atelier des Ors because that house sounds amazing and I need one. I’m in USA.

  • Rose Omeyyade is beyond stunning . One of the best sweet jammy rose fragrances EVER.
Extremely underated fragrance , but not because of the price , but because Atelier des Ors do have quite a few top quality jems in their portfolio.Bois Sikar – my favorite from the brand , Iris Fauve – one of the best iris fragrances for the past few years , and of course the star called Lune Feline.
My perception of Rose Omeyyade is very different compaired to what Danu is getting. “fascinating magnetism” and “stunning creation” – sure , but most other … i don’t get.I don’t get pepper at all.”modest sweetness” … not on my skin.I do have a sweet tooth , love gourmands and i’m used to sweet fragrances.Om my skin Rose Omeyyade is jammy rose gourmand.Performance is beast mode – over 12 hours of longevity and at least 4.5-5 hours of strong projection and sillage.
Not familiar with the other 2.
Of course i’d like to win Rose Omeyyade.
Thank you for this great draw.
    I do follow @cafleurebon, @atelierdesors and @danu_sf on Instagram , and i’ll check @curionoir and @magnificent as well.

Virginia USA or London UK … at least 97/100 times

  • Would like to try both one day and I would choose Rose Omeyyade. Sounds really good. Has a modest sweetness to it which is good. Thank you. U.S

  • These both sound earthy and darker. Rose Omeyyade sounds sweeter and more fun though. Patchouli lends itself well to those themes.
Id like to get rose omeyyade if I win.

Im in IL in the US. Thanks for the draw

  • Great review! The Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade is most appealing to because of the rose and raspberry. If this line doesn’t draw you in, I don’t know what else will ” The Patchouli and Gaiac smooth over the Sucre d’Amore and render a far more ‘adult ‘tone as the base of exotic Woods and Amber ooze with a charm that is all seduction and the shocking realisation that the underskirts of this modest sweetness is all layered temptation and fascinating magnetism.” Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US! 🙂

  • Dorian Fischer says:

Atelier des ors rose omeyyade appeals the most to me today. I really like this house and the notes! From Vienna Austria

  • Monica Beaton says:

As a fan of the Atelier des Ors line of fragrances, the Rose Omeyyade intrigues – roses and amber with a raspberry note – sounds delicious. Incredible reviews – so hard to choose just one! I live in Australia.

  • I smelled Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade at the Osswald perfume boutique in Tribeca several years ago. I found the fragrance intoxicating and intriguing — it was a magnificent combination of roses layered with spices, although I couldn’t quite make out the raspberry. It made me feel incredibly joyous and content, and relieved by feeling of ennui and depression on that gloomy January day. As a student, I couldn’t afford this masterpiece, but I still remember the scent as if it were yesterday! I would consider myself extremely fortune to win a bottle of this olfactory intoxicant.

  • WOW – what a draw !!!!
Rose Omeyyade sounds phenomenal – rose , raspberry , brown sugar , oud , amber , patch … delish 🙂 I really want to win it.
My husband owns Iris Fauve , but to be honest i’m wearing it more often than him haha.Iris Fauve is the only fragrance from this brand that i’ve smelled , but i will order samples soon.
Thank you all for the opportunity

I love the review for CuiroNoir Purotu Rose with the rose grounded by freshly dug earth and enveloped by rising smoky notes. USA resident

  • Hmm this ones a toughy both sound incredible , Honestly I haven’t seen raspberry in too many fragrances so Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade gets the nod 🙂 It appeals to me the most and is also the one I’d LOVE to win !

    Thanks for giveaway !

  • the Rose Omeyyade sounds more appealing, as i have problems with vetiver notes. I am still missing a great rose perfume in my collection. So a bottle of this would be soo wonderful to win.

  • I absolutely love rose fragrances, whether they are light and airy or deep and smokey. I’ve never owned an Atelier fragrance and I love the notes of it, so I would definitely choose Ateliers Des Ors Rose Omeyyade.
    I live in the USA.

  • I have not tried any of the three perfumes described. Both of the roses in this giveaway sound amazing, although I think Rose Omeyyade’s woody base appeals to me a little more. I live in the USA.

  • LadyoftheOakenForest says:

What a beautiful writeup. Rose Omeyyade has been on my radar for a long time. Otherwise, I have not tried any of these, but all three sound wonderful, and rose is one of my favourite notes. I would love to be entered for Rose Omeyyade. I am based in the UK.

  • Just like in part 1 draw I know Atelier Des Ors name , but again I don’t own or smelled Rose Omeyyade . I do remember mr Sebastian Yara did a YouTube review, and also Redolessence too. Everyone is praising this fragrance house . Rose but not sickly sweet, plus patchouli wood and amber combination picked up my interest a lot. Obviously Danu Seith Fyr is really impressed by this perfume. It will be unreal to win this top fragrance. Thx to all of you involved involved in this amazing giveaway, and Danu and Ermano Picco for their reviews. USA most of the year, and Germany from time to time.

  • Roses are one of my favorite florals and this Tournament has me grinning from ear to ear. I am most intrigued by Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade and would love to add it to my collection. USA

Curionoir is a perfume house new to me and I’d be very curious to try Purotu Rose.
Both perfumes sound amazing, but Rose Omeyyade would be my choice.
Thank you for this wonderful tournament and generous draws.
    I’m in the EU.

  • Atelier Des Ors Rose Omeyyade – would love to win this. I agree with what everyone else has said about the raspberry note. Both seem like they would be absolutely beautiful scents but the raspberry is drawing me in.
I’m in the US – thanks for the generous draw. Hope everyone has a good Valentine’s!
