Perfumology is a family-owned  fragrance boutique that is unparalleled in the Philadelphia area. Owner Nir Guy and his team curates the very best niche, independent and artisan perfumes from around the world. Their focus has remained the same and strengthened since moving to their Old City location four years ago. Philadelphia really accepted the independent boutique as the local place to shop and discover over 70 unique and interesting brands. Perfumology has the exclusive to all my ÇaFleureBon “Queen” collaborations with Sarah McCartney of 4160 Tuesdays, including Pirate Queen which commemorates our 13th anniversary.-Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

The rules have changed since we first opened, but the passion at Perfumology remains the same. More and more people want to support small brands and wear exciting perfumes that are just as individual as they are, and we are the place do go. We also host events with incredible guests like Joseph Quartana, Marc Antoine Barrois, Nick Steward of Gallivant Perfumes, Andrea Valdo of Jusbox, Josh Meyer of Imaginary Authors, David Benedik of BDK Parfums and Tomilson Bynoe of Blackcliff, to name a few. Most recently, Perfumology held an event for Navitus with CEO Hayan Merchant, ÇaFleureBon Video Contributor and YouTube content creator (and educator)  Redolessence (Steven Gavrielatos), AI The Great, and Paulina Schar, and also launched brands RDZ perfumes with Alex Rodriguez and Cult of Kaori with Chris Undi. Best of all, I like to work with friends on my Perfumology brand. I released Boutique this month, a perfume that interprets the smell that lingers after working a busy day at the boutique. Serving customers brings about a certain harmony of notes that Justin Frederico of Frederico Parfums created in a long-lasting perfume. Chris Undi of Cult of Kaori developed the packaging.-Nir Guy of Perfumology

In Steven Gavrielatos’s video, he highlights ten of his favorite fragrances for winter and Nir give us a tour.

  • Steve always gives good, in-depth reviews and breakdowns the average layperson can appreciate. Nir talks about the surge in popularity of niche and small/independent brands that offer more unique and interesting scents then the more mainstream perfume houses. I, personally, like discovering scents and notes that are uncommon. USA

  • Fantastic introduction by Michelyn and video by Steven.
Nir really really made a great video explaining this fantastic store. I hope I get to visit it soon.
If I win the Gift Card I would buy Amouage Jubilation 40.
    USA here.

  • I’ve been wanting to visit Perfumology for a long time. I hear so many great things and have seen so many wonderful images from inside the boutique. It’s such a lovely space and they carry an abundance of indie brands, which is so exciting. If I make it to Philly, they are on the top of my list of places to visit. I love that Nir has created a scent called Boutique. Reading about it in his intro was fun, I wonder what such an interpretation would smell like. Steven listed a few scents I have been wanting to try, including Methexis and Jubilation 40. I have a sample of Methexis on its way and am very excited as I love Chris Maurice’s work. If I end up loving it as much as I expect to, I would put the gift card toward a full bottle. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • I visited Perfumology earlier this year and had the most extraordinary experience. I find it rare to be treated so warmly, and I can’t tell you how much it meant to me at the time. I was hesitant to even go in, feeling like an imposter in such a elegant place. But I was immediately put at ease; it felt like being with old friends, and I love that Nir puts such a commitment into connecting with his customers. I enjoyed how Steven’s video showed how lovely the store is, and how it has so many brands to offer. What I think I would add to that is how the store feels, which is quite simply, welcoming. If I were to purchase a scent from the store at this time, it would L’Ima from their own house collection. It’s been on my want list all year after sampling the full line.

  • David Furman says:

From what I saw in the video the store is beautifully laid out. They make niche and high end perfumery more accessible to the people. I think regardless of where you are in the fragrance journey they could accommodate your needs effortlessly. The mix of big brands alongside indie houses is cool. Steven gifted us with his thoughts on great wintertime frags. It’s a good reminded of some of the houses that go overlooked. If I was to win the gift certificate I would look to buy Mancera Black Noir. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • That place looks like heaven on earth. What a wonderful intro to the new space by the owner. They seem like a business worthy of love and support. I had to keep pausing Steven’s video to make notes on the ten scents! If I won the GC, I would probably buy Eiderantler or Epidor from Perfumology, but I would want to spend my time browsing all of their offerings!

  • AttentionSpann says:

I hope to visit the store when I go back east. Looks Amazing! I would use it on Jubilation 40.

  • Ramses Perez says:

Wow I live in South Jersey and never knew I had a great fragrance store so close to me. The inside looks impeccable and it’s very neat. Love the brands Steven mentioned, specifically Amouage, Roja and Casamorati (Xerjoff) as I already have a few of their offerings. Perfumology the store itself just looks so cozy and welcoming and nice to see Nir on the video. Of course if I win, I will probably buy Amouage’s Jubilation 40, I must have it. Cheers from NJ, USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s video and Nir’s part in it as well. 10 interesting pick from Steven I’ve def not tried them all. I enjoyed Nir’s introduction as well. He definitely seems passionate, its cool that he holds events too, and his brand as well is impressive. Thanks for the draw, from USA. Oh as for what I’d get if I won, im not sure but after looking perhaps Iris Malikhan from Maison Crivelli, or 1 of 2 BDK Vanille Leather and Gris Charnel Extrait. Or Night Flower from Eris Parfums. I don’t quite know. Thanks again.

  • Loved the introduction and that made me wanna visit them even more, steven as always rocks with his top recommendations. Loved his Roja Apex recommendation and if I win, I’d most probably be buying the same.

  • Thanks for the opportunity. Perfumology seems to have some of the niche houses which you dont find easily otherwise. I was checking out their collection and If I am lucky enough to win, I’d probably go for Xerjoff Italica.

  • If I win the Gift Card I would buy BDK Gris Charnel which has been on my wishlist for a couple of months now.
I feel Nir’s selection is as strong as ever and surely there will always besomething in the store that isn’t listed on the site and he’s always fielding new additions from what I have learnt. Looking forward to it. Thanks steven for your rec’s too.

  • I am in the US, never been to Philadelphia but all the scents Perfumology carries sound wonderful. The inroduction as well as Steven’s video and his top choices were brilliant. I am so happy for Nir Guy’s success. I hope I will eventually be able to get to visit Perfumology.
I would like to try Over the Chocolate Shop from 4160 Tuesdays if I am the winner.

  • I am not in the Philly area right now, but I hope to visit someday soon and I would love to check out this store! At Perfumology, I would love to check out Blyss and Clutch from their own line. If I win the Gift Card I would probably buy one from these two. USA here

  • I have heard nothing but praise for Nir Guy and his outstanding service and warm regard for everyone he deals with. It’s such a hard choice as to what I would use my GC for. Maybe a bottle of Imperium. Thanks so much for the drawing.

  • Thebluelotus says:

I checked the perfumology website, and they have a lot of brands which have been regularly featured here at Cafleurebon.

If I were to win $100 gift card, I would be looking for a bottle of Torino 22 and use the gift card for that.

    Thanks for the generous draw.

  • Odor Aeternitatis says:

I am too far from Philadelphia to visit Perfumology, although I would surely do if I could. Introduction by Nir Guy was amazing, and I agree with what he said, I think its equally important to support the smaller artisan brands too. If I win, I would like to try out the Blueberry Morning ( Aromas De Salazar)

  • Oh I didn’t know about this store, but it sounds like a true perfume shop done right. Sounds like a great shop! I really love that they try to feature some not so well known niche houses too.Perfumology seems to have a great range and a lot of really good brands. I think that in case I get their gift certificate I would use it to buy Tauer Perfumes Incense Rose. I wanted to get it for so long.
Thankyou Steven for introduing me to Perfumology through your video.

  • fragtrail909 says:

Wow! What a fabulous Introduction! I live in the U.S. I have been to the store previously and the shop is absolutely gorgeous and Nir is SO very knowledgeable and welcoming.
Would love to buy Navitus Discovery set if I am the winner of the gift card.
    Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  • I didn’t know before reading the intro the store held events with incredible guests. I enjoyed in the video the lightning road fragrances and descriptions. I don’t plan on what I’d buy if chosen in the draw in advance. US

  • ScentNScent says:

Thank you for the article and the giveaway. I haven’t been to Perfumology yet but I wish to someday. I’d love to try out for Gallivant.
Loved Steven’s suggestions especially the top 3, of which I already own two.

  • Swetrosysillage says:

Awesome draw, first time I heard about Perfumology today from Steven’s video but I’m going to check them out. From their selection I like Ganymede and its description as mineral aquatic makes it really interesting too .…
For the draw, If I win I would like to get myself a Ganymede bottle.
    I live in the US.

  • In my humble opinion Nir Guy is one the most humble, generous, and engaged in the business. He always treats customers like old friends. I have only shopped his store online, but hope to make it there in person someday. If I were to win, I would pick up a bottle of Nicolai New York Intense. Best Wishes to all.

  • LavenderJuliette says:

Hello! I loved Nir Guy’s intro and his introduction to the new fragrance called Boutique, will check it out. Most of the fragrances are new to me as is Perfumology. I’m interested in trying several of those suggested by Steven. For the giveaway, A bottle of Tokyo blue by chris collins peaks my interest! Thank you! USA.

  • whispering moonlight says:

I think it’s good to support such family-owned small establishments like perfumology.I’d like to visit Perfumology one day. When I visit the East Coast. It’ll be difficult to decide which fragrance to go with but still If I am the lucky winner, my choice of fragrance would be Alexandria II from the house of Xerjoff.

  • Thank you for showcasing Perfumology store! I’ve been making more of an effort this year to shop small, and will add Perfumology to my list.
If I were to win the gift card I think I would use it towards some discovery sets to help me find a fragrance that I love, most probably Roja. Thank you for the post and the giveaway. Located in Texas.

  • Great range of fragrances featured by Mr. Nir Guy.
I haven’t visited Perfumology store yet and look forward to it! My choice of bottle if I win the $100 gift card would be PDM Layton. Thanks for this generous giveaway and I live in the US!
Also, Thankyou steven, your suggested fragrances are always helpful to me.

  • Perpetual collector says:

Yes, great giveaway and very interesting introduction by Nir! I will most probably get a bottle of Lamar if I happen to win.
As always a very informative video by Steven, I enjoyed it and I’m going to try the scents he mentioned.Have a blessed day.
    US

  • Lovely Introduction, even though I have known about the store for sometime now but I am yet to visit them. Thanks for the generosity. I loved how Nir just exudes passion when he talks about fragrances, no doubt he is one of the best people in the community out there, steven included as well.
If I win the Gift Card I would buy Xerjoff Uden.

  • BeckaBella3 says:

This makes me wish Perfumology was also here in California. Love the very cozy and exclusive feel Nir lets you take a small peak at with the introduction. Steve is always someone you can count on highlighting unique niche brands that sometimes I can’t keep up with but love to keep learning about…if I would win the gift certificate I would pick up Dama Bianca by Xeroff since it’s been on my list for a while now. Great Giveaway. Greetings from California, USA.

  • Great looking store and looks like they have a nice selection of niche brands as I was surfing their website. As Steven said I hope they get in stock the new Amouage Jubilation 40. I love the original and can’t wait to try out the new one. Thank you for the giveaway – NYC

  • What I enjoyed about Steven’s video is his mention of “Jubilation 40” and the inclusion of blackberry and opoponax and the regal vibe it exudes. Nir Guy mentioned the release of “Boutique” which sounds interesting. If I’d win the gift card I would probably pick up “Blood Cherry Cordial” from Ikiryo since it has notes that I vibe well with and I’ve always wanted to try something from the brand. Thank you for the opportunity. New York, USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Steven, as usual, is spot on with his review. As far as Nir Guy… I consider him to be a “ROCK STAR” when it comes to the niche fragrance world. Nir and Perfumology have been an integral part of my olfactive journey. He has been a great resource in helping better understand this world and making the complex…simple. Something both he and Steven have in common. Thank you both!
    USA

  • Next time I am near Philly, I will definitely visit the store.

The video footage looks great, and they carry a lot of niche fragrances.
Visiting Perfumology for all of the community.

    Cheers from Boston, MA

  • Lophoflora336 says:

Nir seems like a gentleman who truly cares for his clientele which is key to customer loyalty. Thanks for the opportunity of this giveaway. If I were to win, I would purchase Nuit de Megeve from Eight & Bob. Best from CA, USA!

  • sourbergamot says:

I enjoyed Stevens recommendations randging from gourmands to woody. I live in the USA but unluckily I have never been to Perfumology. I will have to fix that! Nir Guy seems to be a very warm & welcoming person with passion about his field. I would love to buy a bottle of Italica if I win. Thank you!

  • Thanks for this article and thanks to Nir Guy of Perfumology for this most generous draw. Steven always knows how to paint a picture with his reviews as well his suggestions. Loved how inclusive his list of fragrance is, there is something for everyone.
If I win, I’d likely get a bottle of Layton for myself.
    I’m in the USA.

  • I love Perfumology. Nir has great customer service and carries such a nice array of choices. I didn’t realize he endured a flood as well until I saw Steven’s video. I only buy niche fragrance since it is more interesting! If I am the lucky winner I would use the gift certificate to buy something from Imaginary Authors, ( Cape Heartache) which Nir carries a large selection of their line. Best wishes to Nir, Steven and Cafleurebon.

  • I think Steven’s list was an good inclusive all around list. Something for everyone’s tastes was showcased.I live in Indiana USA and I’ve never been to Perfumology. I’m checking out their website now though and for what I’d get if I won, most probably Torino 21/22 from JTC.

  • fragrancegorlie says:

Loved all the brands steven mentioned in the video, especially his gourmand fav Italica and eagerly waiting for amouage Jubilation 40 myself. Nir Guy has an amazing collection, will surely visit them someday.
I would love to buy Tokyo by Gallivant with the gift card if I win. Florida, US.

  • Perfumology store looks so well done in the vdeo, really welcoming and Nir seems to be having a really good collection too. Philly is on top of my list of places to travel so I can’t wait to check out Nir’s shop! If I won the giveaway I would probably buy Elysium Roja. Thanks!

  • Always been a supporter of Nir from a distance. Steven’s list is a great list of different scents for fall and winters which I think is great. I think I would choose the gift card to select a Lubin Kismet fragrance that I have been having my eye on.

  • Yet another informative video by Steven, loved his choices, and I love how Steven makes fragrance relatable.
I just moved to the Philly area and sooooo happy to know of this amazing shop!!!! If I were to purchase a scent from the store it would be Xerjoff from Naxos.

  • From what I can see in the video and based on my personal experience of shopping from such small family owned businesses, it has always been the best. Having an owner know your name, show you around, help you out and feeling like you are a part of their success is a special feeling. I would buy something by Tauer if I were able to win the gift card. Overall enjoyed Steven’s video and Nir’s introduction to Perfumology.

  • Fragrance collector says:

I’m lucky enough to live 30 minutes or so from Perfumology outside of Philly, although I haven’t been in a couple of months! so I’m a bit overdue! I would love to get X Feminine Clive Christian if I win. Thanks for hosting the giveaway! Thankyou Steven for your top choices list.

  • scentense95 says:

From Steven’s video I see diversity behind Nir in the background, of which some of the fragrances are really hard to find. Also all the 10 frags steven mentioned are on my wish list too.
If I were to win the giftcard, I would definitely put it towards Istanbul by Gallivant since that is a house I have always wanted to try.

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

I love Steven’s content. everything is always so thorough and thoughtful. Loved this interview and the store. Glad I have been able to go. I was in heaven. I liked how they talked about the rise of niche and indie. These are my favs as they tend to me complex perfume. I’d love to win and live in Indiana.

  • I have never had the pleasure of visiting Perfumology,; however, I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to do so online. I am interested in the $100 GC for their website and I’d buy a bottle of Dahab. And Steven’s selections were splendid. I loved Dahab and Roaj Apex from his list (Commenting from Florida, USA.)

  • I so appreciate Nir’s commitment to carrying smaller niche and artisan brands and making them accessible to people. There are so few stores that do this, but Perfumology is one of the best! It was cool to watch the video and see the store itself, because I’ve never been able to in person. I hope to be able to visit someday! I haven’t tried anything on Steven’s top ten list yet but they all sound amazing, and he did a great job highlighting the variety of brands the store carries.

If I were lucky enough to win a $100 gift card, I’d either spend it on a bottle of Tauer Sundowner, which I’ve been wanting for a long time! I’m in MN, USA and a Redolessence subscriber as well.

  • So very interesting selection of fragrances for all kind of tastes by Steven. I have never been to Parfumology, but maybe one day…who knows? If I win, probably I will spend the GC on Herod PDM.
    Cheers, USA

  • I have heard a lot about Perfumology that their friendly customer service is elite and they have an incredible Zoologist collection .I’m happy that they’re so close to me. If I was to win the gift certificate I would look to buy of zoologist bee. Steven’s list was also good, I liked a few scents he mentioned.

  • I thought Steven’s video was informative and well-presented, as always – the lightening round of 10 winter perfumes at Perfumology was great for getting new ideas for perfumes to try in the cold. Nir really impressed me with his dedication to ensuring the quality of his customer service matching the quality of the perfumes that Perfumology carries and the quality of their customers. If I’m lucky enough to win the giveaway, I would get a bottle of Olfactive Studio Dancing Light – my most favorite ginger scent that I was able to discover thanks to Perfumology’s website and sample service last year.

  • Thanks so much for Steven for the list of scents! There is a lot of stuff on it which I haven’t tried!
Nir, you have such great brands on your website website–a lovely spectrum that you don’t see fully represented always in niche offerings in some larger cities. It’s a tough choice though, but if I were to win, I’d take the Appolonia. Thank you for the draw–I live in the US.

  • ForTheLoveofFrag says:

It looks like such a welcoming and well-curated store! Great selection of perfumes too. Steven’s video like always was very informative.
Thanks for the giveaway. If I win I would probably go with something from Parfums Dusita, Gallivant or Nasomatto. USA Thanks

  • I’ve heard of Perfumology both here on Cafleurebon, and also on YouTube. Personally I never been there , or ordered from Nir , but all options are positive.
Thankyou so much for the opportunity. As far as steven is concerned I have always used his expertise as a guide to choose my own frags and it helps me a lot.
If I win the gift certificate I would buy Sweetie Aoud from Roja Parfums.

  • MysticalArugula says:

I have not been to Perfumology but think Nir is an amazing person and member of this community. I admire him very much. He never loses his humility. As for what I would by if I win, I think I would go for a bottle of 40 knots. I’m in Ohio.
    Great video Steven.

  • Controlledbyscent31 says:

Perfumology carries some wonderful brands, and some I haven’t heard of before! Zoologist Macaque stand out to me at this very moment, which is what I’d be buying if I happen to win…Thank you for this special draw! I’m in the USA. Wish I lived closer so I could visit in person!
Steven was as usual awesome with his winter fav list 🙂

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’m certainly familiar with Perfumology, even though I’ve never been in their store. Within the past few years, I’ve bought at least a few things from them. Also, I like all five of their first five EDPs, especially “Grange”, which is a must-have for someone who has the same taste that I have. If I win the gift card, then I might put it towards something from either Roja Parfums, Milano Fragranze, or Masque Milano. I live in the U.S.A.

  • So fantastic. Nir is the nicest person and I encourage anyone living in or visiting the Philadelphia area to stop in. I’m lucky to live only 40 minutes away. I love that Steven’s video is introducing the shop to this website’s audience and he did a great job of doing so.

I’m sorry that I missed today’s event with Frederico Parfums, as I’m curious about several of their fragrances.

Thanks to Nir for the generous draw opportunity. I would probably use the $100 gift certificate toward Boutique or Frederico’s Parfum Ensoleillé. I’m in the US.

  • When I lived in Northern Liberties, I used to spend a lot of time in Old City. Unfortunately, Perfumology wasn’t around at the time. What a great store for the neighborhood though! I commend Nir Guy for bringing such a vibrant and unique space to the area. There are many thoughtfully chosen fragrances and I would love to explore the Gallivant range. I’m in MD, USA.

  • I consistently watch Steven’s videos to discover new fragrances. In this video, he did a great job of recommending a list of winter fragrances while keeping them diverse. I hope to sample or own some of the fragrances Steven reviewed. I live in the US, CT.

  • Perfumology sounds like a terrific visit; 70 brands is staggering, considering many of those have deep catalogues, like Zoologist (spotted those in the background of Nir Guy’s photo). There would be plenty to try each time you’re in town. I really like that in Guy’s introduction he spent more time talking about others than he did his own shop, highlighting guests that he hosted for events and collaborators for his new Boutique perfume. It sounds like he really cares about supporting small, unique perfumers. I love how their fragrances are displayed in the shop with simple shelves and flowing wood tabletops—thanks for the quick video tour. I liked Steven’s recommendations as well, which all are a great fit for the cool weather in my part of the world; Rogue Perfumery Mousse Illuminee is a personal favorite. Great video.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway—if I were to win, I’d love pick up a bottle of one of the newer Zoologist perfumes. Their presentation is exceptional.

  • Madden Sinead says:

I loved steven’s video, and found out a couple of new fragrances which I was not aware of. I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Perfumology as of yet but Nir seems to have a very good collection ! If lucky to win, I will choose Masque Milano ( tango)

  • Thanks for the generous draw and wonderful spotlight of Perfumology.I really loved the overall look and how bottles were presented in Nir’s store and also loved Steve’s recommendations.
My choice of bottle will be something from Gallivant or from the Zoologist.

  • I have never been to Perfumology but I have seen them on IG. I like how they even have smaller artisan brands too, which are unique. Nir surely is gem of a person and hopefully I will see get to visit his store someday. Steven as always is spot on with his list. If I were to win, I’d love pick up a bottle of Alexandria III/II. Thankyou

  • I really hope to visit the store whenever I am in Philadelphia next. I liked the video where Nir explained about the store and all the interesting niche houses they offer. I will get Parfums de Marly Valaya bottle with the gift card.

  • I love watching Steve’s reviews on YouTube and would enjoy visiting perfumology in person if I ever get the opportunity. The recommendations in the video for winter fragrances sound fantastic, there are definitely a few that I plan on sampling in the near future. I live in CT, US.

  • Hello from Florida, and thank you to Steven for his summary and John Nir for his introduction to Perfumology!

I enjoyed hearing Steven’s list of perfumes that evoke the spirit of the holiday season, and in that vein I think I’d put a $100 gift card towards either a full bottle of Aromas de Salazar Cola Oud (it simmers and sparkles incredibly in the cold!) or Sarah McCartney’s Vanilla Galbanum Accord (haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but I think green vanilla would be such a perfectly crisp aroma to experience in the snow).

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice review Steven. It’s really nice to hear more about this Brick and Mortar store – also super cool to hear from Nir himself It’s also nice to be doing this to highlight perfume stores like this.

I remember Perfumology and Nit Guy came to my radar with their “Accord” collection, where different perfumers were given note(s) to create an accord/perfume out of. They also have a new collection out that I’m interested in.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • What a fun store! They carry so many brands. I really enjoyed the video for winter recommendations.

I’d pick Baruti Chai with my gift card. I love in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway
