You can sense the heat rising in the perfect rhythm of two bodies moving across the dance floor. As the pace intensifies, the air gets thicker, feeling almost electrified. You are bound to experience one such velocity in Plume Impression Pop Heart. Created by the brilliant master perfumer Mark Buxton, Pop Heart is one tart and passionate cocktail. Being a hedonist, a wine connoisseur, and a talented cook with a passion for antiques, especially for art deco style, it all comes to life in this fragrance.

Imagine wandering through the streets of Paris to stumble upon a hidden little bar as it starts to pour rain outside. You are rushing inside and are stopped in your tracks by an intoxicating scent coming from within. Music is playing loudly; couples are twirling on the dance floor, and a magician is wearing his signature hat in sensual magnolia white in the middle of the stage. Sipping on a cocktail infused with raspberries and roses, he smiles softly and says: “Just like those paintings, just like the song that’s playing, I want my perfumes to have a powerful identity – happy and playful yet sensual and strong, like love at first sight.”

Colorful opening of crunchy red apples, sweet strawberries, and a burst of pineapple oozing with juicy overripe pulp paired with a velvety rose and slightly green magnolia transform into a creamy, sensual vanilla blended with musk. You should expect a twist to this fruity explosion; it wouldn’t be Mark Buxton if he didn’t blend it in such a way. When you expect a smooth ride, it takes an unexpected turn, and oh, it’s a fun one. Almost a leathery facet emerges halfway through the heart, adding depth and much-needed balance to this fruity concoction. A candy-deep, sensual, rich, creamy, buttery lactonic note of caramel feels almost gooey and enriches this fruity gourmand composition. The raspberries add a jammy-like flavor and are brilliantly paired with the soft lemon-like magnolia accord. With such a prolific nose behind this blend, expect to be wowed, seduced, and enticed.

Masterfully blended Plume Impression Pop Heart oscillates between playful fruitiness and carnal seduction, becoming more of a bridge to a magical journey. A ghost amber accord which is not mentioned, I vividly pick up on its golden light, which rounds up this blend seamlessly, creating a warm cozy texture. Finally, the last few hours on the skin are all about the delicate vanilla and sensual musk. I entirely succumb to the beauty of this perfume, and just like with good magic, you are always left wondering, hungry for more. Love at first sight? Perhaps not, but love at first spritz is undoubtedly in the cards for me.

Notes: Apple, Pineapple, Strawberry, Raspberry, Rose, Magnolia, Caramel, Vanilla, Musk.

The bottle was kindly gifted to me by the brand but opinions are always my own.

Being a tailor, and I believe i’m artist too. Every time I’m working with clients, or looking for a new fragrances, I’m always looking for the right balance, just like the balance in Pop Heart. Its mostly a seductive gourmand, but also has a green feel , rose , musk , and overall cozy texture. The whole profile i find quite tempting.

Pop Heart sounds like it embodies the essence of a good pop song — fun, energizing, and maybe a little sassy or sexy. I would be interested in trying this perfume to experience the many twists on the fruity composition.

  • Nice review Olya! I agree with you with the possibility of Love at first spritz and my unbelief of love at first sight. To be honest with Mark Buxton as perfumer I am already surrendered from the earliest perfumes from Comme des Garcons. Love his play in Pop Heart between a tart fruitiness and a carnal seduction (reminds me the notes to a previous job of him:Why Not a Cologne). He says his perfumes should have a powerful identity and it is true in this beautiful opening : fruity with strawberries and pineapple and floral with rose and magnolia (they are blooming in Madrid now). Then a creamy leathery touch to end with a musky vanilla all masterfully blended! I live in Spain, EU.

Excellent review Olya. The fruit-laced opening sounds sensual, and energizing. I love your description that it evolves into an almost leathery note. It sounds like this perfume has beautiful depth and balance. USA – MO

I found Olya’s description of its note breakdown and blending very intriguing. I don’t think I could wear this myself, but would love to smell it on my lady.

  • First, Olya made me se colors (red, yellow, green, white), then she made me feel textures and finally, left me wanting to cross that bridge to the magical journey Pop Heart promises to take one on.
I’m in EU and thanks for the revie & the draw.

  • I’m a fan of Mark Buxton and would love to try Pop Heart. I love the fruits in this fragrance, especially raspberry. On my wishlist it goes. Mich USA

  • I was so impressed with Murmure d’Ete that I had to get a sample set of Plume Impression – and promptly found new favourites. Pop Heart is the only one that I haven’t tried now and it sounds so intriguing. As mentioned in the review, Mark Buxton does give the unexpected (his work for .oddity comes to mind). The insights in this review are so helpful, particularly the mentioned ghost-amber – that definitely tells me this is one I need to try. I’m in the UK.

  • It is seen that it is a perfume with a lot of substance! Very good review, I liked the image of entering a bar and feeling hit by this sweet and sensual perfume. I would love to try it, i’m from Toulouse, France.

Olya Bar take on Plume Impression Pop Heart reminded me of how much I miss Paris, and the days I was a trainee under the great Pierre Hermé, one of the best Pastry Chefs and Chocolatiers in the world. Working all day, loud music and parties… good times.
Olya Bar take on Pop Heart made me think of buying a big rose bouquet to my girlfriend, and walking down the streets of Paris together , while bought eating Fresh Fruits and Caramel Tarts. Magical fragrance i’d love to win.

  • I love the sound of a fruity but deeply sensual fragrance. What I find most interesting about Pop Heart is the twist in the middle. Olya stated that just when you think everything is going in one direction – bam! – a leathery and lactonic side emerges and takes it into a completely different dimension. That sounds incredibly exciting to me and I would love to give this one a shot. I live in NC, USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’m very intrigued to try Plume Impression “Pop Heart”. I’ve certainly heard of perfumer Mark Buxton, and I’m interested in trying one of his newer works-I’ve noticed that some of them seem to be fruity and gourmand. Olya’s description of “Pop Heart” made it seem enticing, e.g. when she says: “Colorful opening of crunchy red apples, sweet strawberries, and a burst of pineapple oozing with juicy overripe pulp paired with a velvety rose and slightly green magnolia transform into a creamy, sensual vanilla blended with musk”, and I appreciate her description of the other aspects of it too. I would like to add it to my collection. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Such a delightful review Olya
Pop Heart is a fruity-ambery fragrance i need to know , blend of variety of different juicy fruits , caramel , and roses .

I love the likeness drawn between the perfume and a setting in Paris, couples dancing, a feeling of euphoria – all into a perfume. I absolutely adore the mix of fruity notes to more nuanced notes of rose, vanilla and musk. It’s almost like this perfume is a chameleon, transitioning from something playful and fun into more seductive musk and vanilla as the hours go on. Sounds like the most delicious of chemistry!

  • A fruity musk sounds like a fun summer perfume. The berries and pineapple combined with the caramel and vanilla are yummy and reminds me of a night at the carnival. The addition of rose and magnolia gives a sophistication to the composition. I’ve tried a few of Mark Buxton Le Labo perfumes. I’m in the US

I loved Olya’s review of Plume Impression Pop Heart interesting because I’ve heard so many great things about this house from the bottle presentation to the perfume quality. Master Perfumer Max Burton came up with a seductive and romantic fragrance. I love how Olya describes this sweet and fruity opening with sensual floral and gourmand touches that sounds amazing. I love the way Olya painted the setting for Plume Impression, that of stumbling into a hidden Parisian bar and sipping on a cocktail of rose and raspberries. The notes in Pop Heart sound fun and enticing. I like the caramel and vanilla ending. I want to be seduced by someone wearing this fragrance.
    I live in the USA.

  • Thank you, Olya, for this fruitful review! Your perspective on Plume Impression Pop Heart is captivating. You envision it as a delightful and passionate concoction—a blend of happiness and playfulness intertwined with sensuality and strength. It’s like experiencing love at first sight, where the heat rises in sync with the perfect rhythm of two bodies gracefully gliding across the dance floor. As the tempo escalates, the atmosphere thickens, almost electrifying in its essence. A truly enchanting portrayal!

  • I find really fruity perfumes somewhat difficult to wear, but I’m intrigued by the way Pop Heart progresses. It sounds like the leathery quality that emerges in the heart balances all these sweet, confectionery notes out, and a musk and vanilla base works on just about everyone.

    Greetings everyone
Plume Impression Pop Heart review by Ms Bar was so cozy , and even a bit flirtatious. Since I have smelled the fragrance at Jovoy Paris, my impressions are pretty much in tune with Ms Bar. I like the juxtaposition of jammy fruity accords, and luscious caramel with the rose and the musk , it’s such a fascinating fragrance. I don’t know how magnolia smells, Ms Bar says it’s like a soft lemon, so I guess it’s the magnolia and maybe the rose , because I too smell something slightly green and tart in Pop Heart , balancing the sweetness , love at first sight it is .

Thanks for the fun review Olya.

I found the tension created in this perfume quite interesting. It’s not often that you spot a fruity scent to create a good level of sensual tension.

I’m very curious to see how the musk plays into this.
