Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete (Quentin Bisch) + Ethereal Fig Giveaway

Plume Impression Murmure d'Ete

Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete by Karl

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love.”-Sophia Loren.

I remember visiting a boutique at the Royal Exchange in London on a bright spring Saturday morning, the air was particularly crisp, and beams of sunlight shone between buildings whilst strolling past the Royal Academy of Arts nearby. This was my first encounter with Plume Impression perfumes. I think back to that day and how the fragrance made me feel. After spritzing the scent, I made my way out and briskly headed over to Green Park. I recollect being particularly happy that day, the perfume seemed to amplify my mood. I was cocooned in a cloud like structure of fresh, lush, verdant and sugary tones which seemed to dance around me. The perfume in question was Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete by Quentin Bisch.

“Perfumes are emotions, perfumes are people. They form images in our minds, make us relive beautiful moments.” Sabine Schaffer Founder of Plume Impression.

I love a great concept when it comes to perfumery especially when it is realised and created with utmost attention to detail. Plume Impression certainly represents the upper echelons in terms of presentation and the scents themselves make one feel special. Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete the first fragrance in the Illusive Spirit collection (presented in white and silver) is a delicate perfume which helps to enhance a positive aura and bring lightness and pleasure to one’s day.

Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete is beautifully balanced. The notes work in harmony with each other, and the experience is reflective of this. When I first wore it, I could not decipher most of them individually, there was undeniably fig, but also airy quality to it elements of sugary addictiveness and an imprint of woods on the skin. Only taking the time to research the ingredients could I piece together this olfactive puzzle. The top notes of cypress and davana surrounding the fig nectar give an interesting juxtaposition. These begin to combine with freesia, which to my nose underpins the entire composition as it brings a radiant and airy aspect to the scent. It provides the perfect balance between the almost edible quality and the fresh dry nuances present in Murmure d’Ete. The addictiveness is further enhanced with the introduction of cedar, tonka bean and sandalwood in the base.

This is a fragrance which is acts as a light caress on the skin and most importantly it is a pleasure to wear. It has great versatility as a daytime scent but could also quickly become a signature for those who enjoy subtle and stylish perfumes. As the name suggests it is a ‘whisper of summer’ seamlessly weaving in and out of one’s consciousness throughout.

Notes: cypress, davana, fig nectar, fig tree, freesia, cedar, tonka bean, sandalwood.

Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete kindly sent to Karl for review purposes. Thoughts are my own.

  • There have been so many interpretations of the note of fig in perfumery. A few I have liked, but this one sounds particularly unique with it’s “radiant and airy” qualities. It’s description as being an uplifting and positive scent make it especially appealing. I would absolutely love to try it! Thank you for this generous draw. I live in the Boston area, US.

  • I love the sound of it being sugary and almost edible, but airy and fresh at the same. Add in the woods, and I’m sold. UK

  • I found the notes of the fragrance the most interesting. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • Thanks for the review Karl!

Did I read Fig? There is something about this fruit that I absolutely love in my fragrances. Juicy, fruity, fresh and uplifting. It reminds me of summer, good times and blossoming trees.

I was absolutely ready for the summer, but a sudden cold spell has covered my garden with a blanket of snow. I can’t want for the weather to change, but until then I’ll settle with “a whisper of summer”!

    Greetings from the UK!

Fig is a wonderful note for spring fragrances and this one sounds fantastic. Karl’s description of the radiant and airy qualities of the freesia balancing out the sweet fig and green elements is what excites me most. I have been adding more of these sheer, easier to wear fragrances to my collection recently. This would be right at home here. I live in VA, USA.

Karl Topham take on Plume Impression
Murmure d’Ete made me think of my last Summer vacation in Valencia, Spain. Of course as a Pastry Chef I always try to compare fragrances to some sort of food , and I started thinking of making Fresh Fig Cake with Crumb Topping , and later on sharing it with my girlfriend while in Valencia . That’s how I believe Murmure d’Ete smells , like ideal vacation in Valencia , and a favorite fig cake.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • As a fan of Quentin Bisch’s fragrances, Murmure d’Ete sounds very appealing to me. With freesia and davana notes, the fig elements would certainly mingle nicely. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff. Mich USA

  • Cedar, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood in the dry down itself is quite stunning. I live in Toronto, Canada.

  • The most interesting part for me based on Karl’s review was that the harmony and balance of the fragrance itself made it hard for Karl to pick out a specific note when first wearing it. From TX, USA.

  • This is a new house for me, I have enjoyed reading about a lot of houses unknown to me in this site. Although I enjoy fig cookies, I have never had fig in a fragrance but as the article states the other notes surrounding the fig blend to make this very interesting and thus I cant wait to try it. Thanks. USA. GS

  • I love fig as an olfactive note. I find it’s so understated, charming and stylish and instantly transports the wearer to a sunnier, lighter-hearted dimension, somewhere in the Mediterranean or a warm and gentle destination.
That expectation was confirmed by what Karl said in his review, describing a “delicate perfume which helps to enhance a positive aura and bring lightness and pleasure to one’s day”. The notes of davana, cypress and freesia also intrigue me; Plume Impression must truly be a multi faceted and intellectual olfactive experience.

Notes: cypress, davana, fig nectar, fig tree, freesia, cedar, tonka bean, sandalwood. I am intrigued by the notes especially cedarwood, tonkabean, sandalwood and fig. This is a house that I have got no experience with but Karl’s review has piqued my interest. Thanks a million from the UK

  • “Radiant and airy”…perfect scent for spring. I liked when Karl said that he felt happy that day…not realising that perfume can change your mood. I live in London, UK.

  • I really liked the description ‘whisper of summer’ and very intrigued to see freesia in the notes, that is my favorite flower. Quentin Bisch is showing amazing talent in his recent creations, I especially enjoy Kenzo Pour Homme Intense, that is something extraordinary!

I live in the EU (Latvia), thank you for the draw!

What attracts me the most in Karl’s review is the description of the combination of fig facets with notes of cypress and davana, and even more surprising is the fact that the composition is based on freesia, which enhances the contrast of green woody and floral-fruity notes. I really love the works of Quentin Bisch and consider him a very talented perfumer of our time, he manages to turn almost any of his perfume formulas into a crowd pleasing trend, which is amazing!

  • Discovering a brand with a perfume that touches you is a great sensation, same as you discover that wine or coffee beans regarding smells.. I have a fig tree in my garden and late summers when full of ripe fruit and leafy, sitting underneath is priceless. There is in north Spain an ice cream shop that makes a magic flavour: “shadow of a fig tree” with tender shoots of fig leaves macerated in ice water for 15 days. It is the same feeling you had of a delicate perfume which helps to enhance a positive aura and bring lightness. Mr. Bisch is a genious so not being able to decipher right away most of the ingredients in a scent is magic. Solving the puzzle a challenge as I guess Quentin had to create this radiant and airy Murmure d’Ete. I live in Spain, EU.

  • I like hearing a fragrance is “a pleasure to wear.” Sounds like an interesting pickup. New Jersey, USA

  • I remember the fig tree in my yard. Such a wonderful smell and taste. This must make a wonderful note. Love to win this thank you for this Chance USA

  • I’ve tried quite a few fig perfumes but all of them were very grounded, even the more ephemeral ones couldn’t be called “airy,” so the description of Murmure d’Ete as radiant and airy sets it apart. I like other perfumes by Quentin Bisch for being minimalist yet interesting, and this sounds like it may be in that spirit. I’d love to take a whiff of this one. I’m in the US, thank you for the draw!

  • I love fig. Fig that’s green or sweet, just fig of any kind. What stuck with me about Karl’s review was how he described this as a light caress on the skin. This is what I want to smell like in summer.

I would love to win Murmure d’ete. I haven’t heard of Plume Impression yet. I appreciate the introduction to this brand. I’m in the USA.

  • I love lots of Quentin Bisch’s fragrances, and this one certainly is up my street! Fresh, but sugary, subtle, but addictive sounds very intriguing and so well blended!
Thank you for review and a great giveaway! Greetings from UK

This perfume sounds absolutely divine! I love the smell of fig; my father grew figs in our backyard and the house was always full of them. This scent sounds like one I would wear daily. A delicate and airy fig perfume with woods and sugar sounds divine. Positive mood amplifier too? I’d love to try this. The name is also beautiful. In US

  • As summer approaches, this seems to be the perfect perfume – as Karl describes it, this perfume is elegant and sophisticated and is made with great attention to detail. I loved the quote at the beginning of this review – “There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love.”-Sophia Loren.

When Karl says that it was difficult to decipher the individual notes at first, it points to Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete having been very carefully blended. I would love to try Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete. Thanks for the review and draw. From continental United States.

  • Very poetic review Karl. I love fig fragrances and I appreciate that Murmure d’Ete employs both fig nectar and the fig bark. The dried fruit-like davana combined with the woods sounds like an arboreal fantasy. I am a fan of Quentin Bisch and own both Nomade and Iris de Gris. MD, USA

  • I am a big fan of Quentin Bisch, fig, and ethereal fragrances. Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete intrigues me. I am definitely adding this to my “to try” list. Thank you for bringing it to my attention! ~Indiana

My wife and I have been very impressed with our addition of Plume Impression “Que Tal”. A quality and alluring fragrance, that has caught and captured our attention. Additionally, we admire Quentin Bisch’s works. I just did a quick database search and realized we own 21 fragrances created by Mr. Bisch. Lastly, the notes listed in Murmure d’Ete….are calling my name, especially the Davana, Fig, and Sandalwood. I’m looking forward to getting my nose on this creation. I reside in the USA.

  • WaltherP99 says:

I’m well familiar with all Plume Impression fragrances, and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1.Rivalite Imperiale
    2.Que Tal
    3.Pop Heart / Murmure d’Ete
I can relate to emotional state Karl was on , when he discovered Plume Impression, it’s always nice to find a brand that clicks with you.
The positive aura is definitely present in Murmure d’Ete, i immediately feel happy with well composed fig fragrances on my skin. To me it smells milky, and rather natural , particularly the fresh squeezed by your hand fig kind of scent.
All profiles I already follow , including the still active @scentstoryfragrances , the previous, and I genuinely hope temporarily paused Sabine Schaffer and Gabriel Chami “24” brand account , @waltherp99bg

Fragrances tied to memories and their effect on mood are two reasons why I enjoy perfumery. Fig is a note I particularly like exploring and this fragrance sounds absolutely beautiful. Murmure d’Ete is a woody-fruity fig fragrance i need to know , mildly sweet , sandalwood and outdoor greenness.

  • jose_laperla says:

The fragrance Murmure d’Ete, sounds like something would enjoy.
What interests me is how the writer starts off by describing the whole day. If a fragrance can make an impression in your mind where you can describe the whole day in detail. Is something worth trying. It’s sounds like it’s long lasting and projects, signature worthy and versatile.
This is on my to try!

  • wallygator88 says:

    Thanks for the review Karl.

Like an emotion, this scents sounds like one that might be fleeting, needs to be sat down with and reflected/pondered on, as opposed to being worn and forgotten about.

A set of beautiful uplifiting notes, like a summer watercolor.

    Excited to try this out.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’m interested to try this one. I like to hear that it’s versatile and that the fig is prominent. I’m always looking for what notes pair well with what, and I found it intriguing when Karl said: “The top notes of cypress and davana surrounding the fig nectar give an interesting juxtaposition”. I like to hear that it has freesia, and I’m interested to see what the base of cedar, tonka bean, and sandalwood is like. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Fig is a really interesting note in perfumery that takes on a very different feel depending on how it’s blended. Reading Karl’s description of Murmure d’Ete, it sounds like the opening plays up the sweet, fruity aspects of its fig note, along with an airy floral quality from the freesia. The cedar and sandalwood base is a smart, dryer contrast to those qualities.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Diaz Aiden says:

From what Karl said on his review & in my opinion this is a fruity, woody, gentle green unisex fragrance. He also stated that this has a great versatility. I would definitely enjoy this fragrance.

Very interesting review Karl! What i find most interesting based on Karl’s review of Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete is how he describes it as beautifully balanced with an airy quality that cuts through the sugary addictiveness of fig and the dry yet smooth addictiveness of creamy cedar, tonka bean and sandalwood. That sounds absolutely mouthwatering and yet not to sweet like most gourmands I dislike. I live in the US.

  • Phillip_Barkley says:
