In Fieri Ceremony (Maria Teresa Venezia and Enrico Buccella) 2022 + No Shy Violet Giveaway

When I included In Fieri Ceremony as one of my Top 10 Best perfumes of 2022, I mentioned  that I could not wait to share more about this magnificent creation by perfumer Enrico Buccella under the creative direction of Maria Teresa Venezia. In Fieri’s 2021 release of Park of the Monsters was an Art & Olfaction Awards Finalist, I was thrilled to discover that Mr. Buccella and Ms. Venezia do not disappoint with their 2022 creation, Ceremony. Both fragrances are very different but share a similar vintage-vibe that fascinates me; classic elegance of eras long past but with a twist to suit a more contemporary audience.

In Fieri Ceremony deserves patience and skin time to fully appreciate the fragrance’s shifting layers and persistence despite its softness. From the first spray your nose welcomes a floral, almost fruity bouquet of candied violets mixed with sweet, jasmine and powdery iris. Ceremony evokes a fluffy softness but, not, as you may expect, cosmetics or baby powder; it is a much sexier scent. The honey notes are used not for sweetness but to add a definitive animalic growl to the powdery iris and musks.

In Fieri Ceremony smells like unwashed skin dusted with fresh talcum powder after spending a night entwined with your lover.  Ceremony’s delicate sexiness lasts for over 12 hours without a hint of white laundry musk to be found.  And throughout it all, there remains a beautiful floral bouquet of jasmine and violets, a veil of green freshness balancing out the exquisite powdery orris.  The term “your skin but better” does not capture In Fieri Ceremony’s magical nuances. Rather think of this perfume as “your-skin-but-lived-in” (to borrow a line from former CaFleureBon Editor, Dana Sandu).

What in your life is calling you, when all the noise is silenced, the meetings adjourned… the lists laid aside, and the wild iris blooms by itself in the dark forest… what still pulls on your soul? ~ Rumi

On these dark winter nights after the holiday season has passed and all settles down in our hectic lives, In Fieri Ceremony wraps me in a scented winter coat with promises of beautiful spring days to come. Both comforting and alluring, Ceremony certainly will definitely continue to pull on my soul.

  • Really like that it’s described as a floral sexy sweet fragrance. Extremely impressive that the fragrance itself lasts for 12 hours plus. Sounds incredible in the winter season cold and would love to sample it. From TX, US.

  • Most of the violet-centric fragrances I’ve tried have been quite demure, and even the loud and vibrant ones read “clean”, so the promise of a dirty honey twist makes this one stand out. It also sounds just right for the time of year when winter slowly turns to spring. I’m in the US, thank you for the draw!

  • Oh Rachel excellent review! You are right, this one is a show-stopper. I have it on now, an am inhaling deeply. …”What still pulls on your soul?” asks Rumi in your article…this achingly delicate, beguiling perfume asks me also in the softest, most alluring voice. It’s euphoric, sexy fairy dust for sure! I would be so thrilled to have a bottle of this magical stuff. Thanks and I am in Maryland!

  • You are speaking my language!! Vintagey, violet, musk and Iris without the dryer sheet or baby powder vibe…plus that glorious animalic Jasmine and warm vanilla to round it out… and a dirty honey? I’m definitely feeling this!!
Thank you for the opportunity to win, in the US.

  • Jasmine, iris, violet and honey: oh yes! It does indeed sound sexy, and I’d love to try In Fieri Ceremony. I love the “your skin but lived in” idea, too. Thanks for another fun review!

Everything about this sounds beautiful, particularly the “your skin but lived in.” I’m a huge fan of jasmine, orris, and violet. To hear about these things combined in a “nouveau vintage” style extrait after just trying the underwhelming new Guerlain Jasmin sounds infinitely appealing! Thanks for the generous draw–I’m in the US.

  • The honey notes are what entice me about this fragrance the most. Such a stunning description and with such a long lasting perfume I can’t wait to hear about how the notes might change throughout the day.

  • In Fieri Ceremony sounds very beautiful. I loved Rachel’s description of it, especially her comment that it has a fluffy softness and sexiness. Just based on the notes, I would have expected a cosmetic powdery scent, but it sounds like that’s not at all the case. I’m also glad to know it lasted over 12 hours on Rachel’s skin! Anything described as comforting and alluring is intriguing to me. I have been on an iris and orris kick lately, so I would absolutely love to own a bottle of In Fieri Ceremony. Thank you, Rachel, for the great review, and thank you to Maria Teresa Venezia for the generous giveaway. I am located in the US.

  • Ceremony seems to fall into one of my fav perfume genres..powder. This is definitely going on my sample list. Its very nice to hear it has 12 hr longevity and no white musc ( not a huge fan). Having a vintage vibe says alot about its construction. I live in the US

  • Lovely review by Rachel. I’ve been interested in this brand since Park Of The Monsters received so many accolades but haven’t gotten my nose in them yet. I love when modern perfumes pay homage to vintage. This sounds beautiful. In US

  • Rachel excellent review. Love the notes and artwork. Floral sexy sweet. Love to add this to my collection. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Rachel’s description of Ceremony as smelling like unwashed skin dusted with talcum powder after spending a night entwined with your lover certainly is evocative. It sounds decidedly feminine with the candied violets, jasmine, iris and musk. Maria Teresa’s use of honey to add an animalic note is intriguing. Would love to try this, sounds like a future classic. MD, USA

  • Sounds like a very sensuous scent profile. The smell of musk and powdery iris is one
of my favorites and this would take my collection in a more daring direction. Would love to be entered to win, with shipping to Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Ceremony sounds really nice. I especially like that Rachel mentioned it is “both comforting and alluring”, I very much enjoy that type of scent. Iris and vanilla is a combo I love with added violets as well and jasmine it sounds great, but the honey adding “a definitive animalic growl to the powdery iris and musks” makes it sound more interesting and unique. Would love to try Ceremony. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • In Fieri is on my to-try list; I plan to grab the Discovery Set so I can try The Jetty, Ceremony, and Park of the Monsters. Reading about Ceremony, I’m drawn to the candied violet note. Violet has so much character, and mixed with jasmine and musk, I can imagine the “unwashed skin” and “delicate sexiness” of Ceremony’s progression. I don’t often seek out skin scents, but this one seems like one to try. Thanks for the coverage Rachel.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I’ve been in a violet mood lately, having purchased a few for my collection as well as sampling a lot of violet fragrances last year. This one sure has my interest just looking at the notes. I love Rachel’s comment about the promises of spring days to come as I am tired of winter. Fortunately there isn’t that fresh laundry note in the musk!! Sounds like there is just a touch of that candied violet. Sounds dreamy!! Thanks for the chance. USA resident desperately waiting for spring. I think I’ll plant some violets which I have never grown before.

  • Oh boy! I think that In Fieri only creates masterpieces in perfumery and surely this one is another one yet.
I loavae that Ceremony is a very creative floral fragrance that has an unique sexiness. Great job by an american perfumer!

Thanks for the nice review Rachel. Enjoyed the idea of this fragrance. THe combination of violet and iris is such a sensual one and I particularly like the fact that there are no laundry musks in this.

  • In Fieri Ceremony seems to be a perfume for seduction and romance, just in time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day gifts and such. Rachel did a great job of describing the perfume. I also liked the quote by Rumi – “What in your life is calling you, when all the noise is silenced, the meetings adjourned… the lists laid aside, and the wild iris blooms by itself in the dark forest… what still pulls on your soul?”
Thanks for the review and draw. From continental United States.

Wonderful review Rachel! What sparks my interest about Rachel’s review of In Fieri Ceremony. is the idea of a fragrance that is animalic and skin-like, but not the overly-used typical “your skin but better”, but rather “your-skin-but-lived-in”. I love the idea of that phrase! I love humanly animalic fragrances, particularly a-la-Francesca Bianchi, and this one sounds perfect. I live in the US.

What sparks my interest based on Rachel’s review of In Fieri Ceremony is learning how Rachel selected this as one of her top 10 fragrances for 2022. I loved learning more about the people behind the fragrance perfumer Enrico Buccella under the creative direction of Maria Teresa Venezia. This sounds like a really interesting interplay of florals, powdery touches, and an animalic honey. I am from the USA.

This sounds like quite the sexy, powdery, and floral fragrance. I would love to win this as a gift for my gf. New Jersey USA
