Parfums de Marly Valaya (Quentin Bisch) 2023 + Cotton on Skin Giveaway

Parfums de Marly CEO Julien Sprecher and the multi-award-winning Givaudan perfumer Quentin Bisch worked for three years to develop the new perfume Valaya. Quentin Bisch is one of my favorite noses and has signed many niche, designer and luxury fragrances (his self-written Young Perfumer essay has hundreds of thousands views, it is one of the most read posts on ÇaFleureBon). Parfums de Marly Valaya is the fifth fragrance Quentin Bisch composed for the brand (Carlisle, Delina, Delina Exclusif and Delina La Rosée); I once wrote of Delina, “Seldom is a fragrance so exquisite that a perfumer creates three different iterations; each unique but sharing the same DNA.”Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Quentin Bisch of Givaudan

It is an honor that we read Quentin Bisch’s artistic process for Parfums de Marly Valaya in his own words:

It was to be a white bottle. With this transparent / opaque quality of glass. I wanted to work around the idea of skin. It had to be a musk. But a super modern one. Cotton on skin, skin on cotton. Chose a white flower bouquet centered around orange blossom. Woods give vibration and modernity and even a cleanliness. It features a real sensuality as well, velvety musks, vanilla and akigalawood. Parfums de Marly Valaya is the way I like to write perfumes. Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted.”-Quentin Bisch

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, White Peach; Heart Notes: Orange Flower, Nympheal© (Givaudan muguet synthetic), Vetiver; Base Notes: Akigalawood©(a bio-degradable synthetic molecule with a profile similar to patchouli, combined with a hint of pepper and oud), Ambrofix© biotechnology-based alternative to authentic ambergris that also brings a woody sensuality),Vanilla, Musk

This has been a video and article I have been waiting.,. Steven, did a great job with his visual explanation of the fragrance and presentation. Michelyn, her article made me sit completely up in my chair, the description of the bottle and the breakdown of the notes and not to mention the story about Quentin Bisch…..i would love to win this beautiful creation. Orlando Florida, USA

  • Well, I know a YouTuber Named Shaniah Faye and she is a HUGE fan of Delina Demarly, I know she keeps buying new bottles when she runs out, oh she is going to be excited to buy this new one!!! The bottle is gorgeous , people love the bottle design, it sells! Steven on YouTube is the one who brought to my attention a new Demarly purfume was released so I’m going to try and get a sample of this. A masterpiece!
    My Instagram is Burberry_444

  • So i’ve tried all of the Parfum de Marly fragrances, but this one stands out the most as my favourite scent category is soft floral cottony musks. The idea of it being centred around transparency and skin is highly intriguing. Steven never fails to describe any fragrance, he’s always spot on and i’ve bought many based on his reviews alone, and they’ve always been a hit! The presentation is gorgeous too!!

  • Vilailack Kheuakham says:

I would love love love to win this fragrance! I’m a huge fan of Delina and Delina Exclusif, and the notes in Valaya sounds right up my ally!

Will be following you on IG @ cafleurebonofficial

Steven brought to my attention this new masterpiece. The bottle design, gorgeous as are the previous pink bottle design, it sells! There is a YouTuber named Shaniah Faye and her favorite purfume is Delina De marly… she buys new bottles once she runs out she is a huge fan, so I know she will be purchasing this new Demarly purfume. It’s my goal to buy all the Demarly perfumes, I’ve heard too much good about it. People are obsessed with these scents. Delicious and beautiful.

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

From QBs intro, I learned this will be a clean, woody, modern perfume like his other scents. I love his other works. Stevens reviews are always so thorough. I love how he explains the projection and the longevity! I’m a really big fan of Quentin, so I would love to win this. I live in Indiana.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s description of the new scent as “urbane” — something wearable, yet distinctive upon closer inspection. I was intrigued with Bisch’s explanation of the artistic process used for this scent idealizing the bottle as the translucent skin upon which the fragrance would be interacting.

  • I feel part of this new perfume creation by Quentin just by reading this article. The captivating way that the writer engage me with the perfume creation journey makes me want to go and find out more about the brand and the perfumer.
Then I get the redolessence perfume reviewer point of view which translate his knowlegement into to valuable information for consumers.
All forces combined makes this experience worthy!!

  • ramsesperez52 says:

The see through bottle looks beautiful to begin as seen on Steven’s video and the white box looks pristine. I did not know this was the 4th fragrance Auentin Bisch did for Parfums de Marly after the 3 iterations of Delina. I liked how Mychelin described it as simple yet complex, and bold yet fluid. I’d love to win a bottle of this fragrance! I’m writing from NJ, USA.

  • Thea Sklenar says:

Steven. Thank you for this great review.
The article’s description of how Quentin Bisch worked around the idea of skin to create this fragrance gave me shivers. I would love to win a bottle.

  • Love these parfums but haven’t bought a bottle since covid. Came here beacause of Steven.

  • Vatrina Taylor says:

I truly enjoy Steven’s channel. He’s very informative and reviews so many fragrances, that majority of my choices of fragrances are from watching his channel. The way Quentin Bisch explain his reason for the fragrance and the bottle is amazing. Fragrances brings me unexplainable joy and just from reading his introduction of this fragrance, it as if I was there while he prepared it and I can actually smell it. If I don’t win the fragrance I’m buying it regardless.

  • Steven always nails the reviews. There aren’t many reviews on Valaya out there and I had no luck with sampling as it’s not out yet here at Nordstrom so can almost feel the scent with his review. I got so intrigued knowing that nose behind Valaya was Quentin Bisch. Super fascinating to read about his concept around skin and how the notes and bottle design revolved around it. Thanks for the generous giveaway. Based in the US

  • Jasmine Harris says:

I enjoyed Steven’s review because it was well rounded. It showed the presentation, and described the notes and accords while also talking about Valaya’s performance.
I enjoyed reading this article because I left more informed about the fragrance. I love how the perfume was made to be both a modern and a clean fragrance.

  • Thanks Steven and Michelyn!

Quentin is becoming very prolific and I agree, from his intro, he does seem to create simple yet complex fragrances! Steven does an awesome job of conveying how juicy and sweet this fragrance is. Sounds delectable!

    From Canada

  • I have been waiting for the release of this perfume and would love to win a bottle. It’s been in the low 20s where I live, and this bottle has me yearning for spring. I can imagine wearing this with a simple white shirt and jeans, feeling like I am outside and breathing in the fresh, crisp air (although I am now curious how it wear in the winter after watching your review). I do follow you on Insta (be.jewled).

  • Steven’s description was spot on as I compare them to the article I love that Quentin Bisch choose to use musk and vanilla as well as orange blossom wood I could almost smell it as I read!!!!

  • I absolutely loved the say Steven described Parfum de Marly’s process of creating Valaya over 3 years, making sure to keep “hook” of the citrus/peach/aldehydes.

“Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted.” Quentin’s intro to Valaya and the way that he wanted it to revolve around the idea of skin sounds so intriguing. I also learned of the note of akigalawood! I’ve never heard of it before.

I’m based in the US, and also follow @cafleurebonofficial on instagram as well.

  • It’s fitting the bottle is white, as indicated in Quentin Bisch’s remarks, as it fits in with Steven’s description in the video of a clean fragrance from top notes through to the drydown. Elegant simplicity comes to mind when drawing from both the perfumers comments and Steven’s review. Sounds like it will be worth the 3 year wait! From New Brunswick, Canada

  • Really enjoyed reading about QB’s approach to creating this scent. I learned it’s his fourth for the house of Parfums de Marly in the intro. The note breakdown in Steven’s review really was insightful, from the exuberant opening, to the musk + ambroxin drydown. Great stuff as always!

  • Steven always does a great job elaborating how vibrant fragrances are! I was highly intrigued to learn it took Quentin Bisch three years to develop Valaya.

    Now following you on Instagram.

Thank you and Steven so much for this opportunity!

  • John Michael says:

Really caught my attention it took 3 years to perfect this fragrance. I really enjoy Steven’s enthusiasm & the beautiful notes within this composition. I may have to grab a sample & cross my fingers it’s not too feminine. Otherwise the wife will love it! Good luck all from Boston, Massachusetts!

  • Live it ! Live the bottle design and the packaging.
I think it also suits men as well not only women as marked

  • Steven did an incredible job describing the perfume. Quentin Bisch is my favorite perfume. Everything he does I absolutely love. The article really described his vision behind the beautiful bottle and what he wanted the notes to make people feel.

  • I got to smell Valaya when I visited my local Nordstrom the other day. You can smell the same DNA, fresh bergamot opening that Delina has. I enjoy the perfumer Quentin Bisch is leaving a message via significant notes saying this was created by him.
Thanks Steven for the great review, I cannot wait to own this bottle one day!

  • FragranceIsMe says:

My wife and I are fans of Steven’s channel, as well as, Quentin Bisch, and Parfums de Marley. I was able to get my nose on this latest creation and find it to be a beautiful, fruity, musky, white floral. This was love at first sniff for my beautiful wife. We follow @cafleurebonofficial on Instagram. I live in the US.

  • christina lahoud says:

Love all Delinas and can’t wait to get my nose on Valaya!!!
Winning a bottle would mean so much to me xx
    Thank you for the opportunity:)

    Chris

  • I love Quentin Bisch’s inspiration of cotton on skin and am excited to see his interpretation of the concept, particularly after three years of development. Steven’s description was helpful. I like that he compared it to Delina’s “hook in the beginning.” I’m interested to smell this new, fresh fragrance. ~Indiana

  • Parfums de Marly Valaya is refined , centered around orange blossom transitional weather fragrance ,versatile, and easy to wear , from day time family gatherings , to going out with friends , or weddings .Long lasting fragrances are always welcome , and I think all Parfums de Marly fall in the same category , even fresher ones.
I like how Quentin Bisch portrayed Valaya himself
“Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid.”
Parfums de Marly non-transparent, and transparent bottles look super classy , including Valaya . I like the frosted bottle , and the contrast with the silver cap.Call me perfectionist, but bottle design, looks and the way it feels, are all important to me.
Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly , but Delina Exclusif is breathing in Oajan neck all the time. Both are staples for me.
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • I a big fan of parfum de Marley fragrance I have almost all of them I even named my daughter Delina after one of favorite women fragrance I can wait to see what more fragrance they come up with

  • Steven Gavrielatos did a excellent job describing Valaya! Definitely piqued my interest, with the bright, juicy opening. I love peach, lilies, and vanilla. I feel like it would be a nice soft, clean and slightly effervescent fruity scent. I live in a hot climate, I think it would do well all year round, for day, night, and for the office. Definitely signature scent worthy. I own Delina, and plan on owning more from Parfums de Marly. I’m excited to get my nose on this! I love the article, great addition to Steven’s video. Very interesting to know a bit more about the nose behind the most loved fragrances. I also appreciate the scent notes breakdown and types of synthetics used for transparency as I love to do more research on them.

  • I like that Steven said it would be a chic choice for an office setting… even though I wear perfumes primarily for myself, it’s nice to have something that will make a good impression without overwhelming in a professional, indoor environment. I also appreciate the insight from Quentin Bisch about how he’s going for “minimalistc but faceted.” Exactly the vibe of one of my favorites, L’AP Mandarin Corisca, which is a fascinating example of that style… it’s also a citrus fragrance I ADORE even though I don’t normally enjoy citrus-centric perfume. And so, even though I don’t always gravitate to pared-back clean musks, I can’t help but think this one would be great to try. I’m in the US, thanks for the draw!

  • I am certain that this is the fragrance I’ve been waiting for years from PDM. It is so refreshing to watch Steven reviewing what is considered a femenine fragrance with such passion and detail. And just by reading Master Perfumer Bisch’s description, I can tell I am in love, like I am with so so so many of his beautiful creations. The notes scream my name. The bottle is dreamy and so pristine looking and it would look so beautiful next to her sister fragrances Delina, Delina Exclusif, Cassily, Oriana and Safanad…and her brothers Layton, Carlisle, Sedley and Haltane. I even love the name, starts with a “V” (like my name) and one of its meanings it is circle, so there is no beginning or ending, like love. I would be honored to be the recipient of this magnificent new release.

  • Steven did an amazing job with the visual explanation. My wife is going to love this sent she is a big PDM FAN

  • Edith Belanger says:

I am looking to find the perfect musky fragrance for me currently. I dont have a fragrance collection but I am building a fragrance wardrobe. I was impress with the creation process taking 3 years! And Steven did add to the article by giving more insight details about the creation process which I did appreciate a lot. He describe the fragrance to be clean, elegant and sophisticated. And Quentin Bisch said he wanted it to be simple yet complex. All together, Steve and Quentin makes me feel that Valaya is the perfect fragrance for my musky fragrance gap to fill! I own Delina and did order a sample kit with my Delina order. I really like Cassili and Oriana which are on my wish list. And I dont need to sample this one to know I should add it to my wish list as well!

  • nickmotrich says:

I always love how Steven’s floral use of adjectives really sells any fragrance he’s speaking about.

The idea of bold yet fluid sounds very intriguing. I’m surprised by how many of my favorites from the house are all composed by one nose.

  • Georgette aka georgyram says:

Steve’s review is always so through and gives you a good idea of the experience. I had the luck of smelling this beautiful fragrance myself and he is spot on. Thank you for the opportunity to win one of these lovely bottles. Great quality from PDM.

  • Something I love about most DeMarly fragrances is the incredibly sexy DNA. This is so true for carlisle (my partner owns) and Delina (which I own) so I am certain this fragrance will be undeniably sensual as well. Quentin’s description of his image for this fragrance is very enticing – I can tell he wanted this perfume to fulfill his image of a unique modern fragrance. Steven’s description almost made my mouth water with his description of the juicy fruits and Madagascar vanilla. I would be honored to wear this fragrance. Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

  • Bigyike5000 says:

They got the perfumer for Delina on this?? I must win it for my girl (Delina is her favorite and PdM can do no wrong in our eyes). I love a clean musk myself so if I win this I may be stealing some sprays from her now and then. Steven’s description of the opening made it sound very appealing with a bright and natural bergamot – Velvety musk described in Quentin’s review makes this sound very versatile. Would love to win – would ship to Pennsylvania

  • Karinablack says:

Steven’s reviews never disappoint! Can’t count how many perfumes I’ve purchased after one of his reviews… and this may be one of them! I am a huge fan of all three Delinas, so very excited that the same perfumer has created this one! I also love the bottle and the story behind how the latest helped drive the composition of this fragrance! Can’t wait to get my hands on this one

  • I was wondering about the new offering from PDM and Steven’s review answered my questions bright bergamot , white Lily and peach the way he discribed really showed that he truly enjoyed the fragrance. Quentin’s quote about the fragrance his vision gor Valaya from the idea of the white glass opague bottle and the perfect description of the fragrance “Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted.”-Quentin Bisch. Perfect ! I live in the USA.

  • Michael Boco says:

would really like to have this fragrance for my wife so I can be like Al Pacino smelling the Scent of a Woman. More power and more exquisite fragrance to come Cafleurbon.

  • Well after Delina we were all waiting impatiently! And this is exactly my cup of tea. I’m been in such a Musk and white floral mood and that white peach sounds lovely too. I appreciated how Steven explained how it performed on the skin.
    I’m in the US.

  • OMG! Just watched Steven’s review! It’s such an excitement to see a new launch from Parfums de Marly! I’m a great fan of this house and Valaya sounds heavenly! Refreshing, bright, juicy for the opening, projection is amazing and all the beautiful notes in the base… And the cherry on top long lasting…. Thank you Michelyn, Steven and Çafleurebon for this opportunity to try Valaya!!! Following Çafleurebon on Facebook as Helena Shinkoda and Instagram as @hshinkoda. Sooooo excited about this giveaway! I’m from Massachusetts, US.

  • A modern skin scent, as Q.B. stated, is what I have been searching for. Steven’s description of the peach opening sounds like the perfect opening to this composition. I am very excited to try this new release!

  • Cotton on skin, skin on cotton
Those fragrance sounds clean and sensual all at the same time.
I look forward to smelling this fragrance.
    Oklahoma USA

  • I love PDM fragrances, I have gotten my Nice quite a few samples and decants of the women’s marketed fragrances and would love to win a bottle for her and after hearing Steve from Redolessence describe it and coming here and reading the article I know she would love it

  • Amanda Hodge says:

I have been waiting for a fragrance of this kind, composed of such notes. I love the way Steven describes this a unique. These articles are so well written and appreciated by fragrance lovers! I would adore a scent like this! Much love from the USA!

  • I really enjoy that Michelyn added an excerpt behind the creation of this fragrance. A modern musky, citrus, woody, and floral fragrance sounds like an incredible mix. Steven’s review was incredibly descriptive, the cleanliness/freshness, and many people I know say that overly sweet fragrances are a big no go for them, so its good to know that this isn’t one of them. From Tx, USA.

  • Amberley Steichen says:

“Minimalistic but faceted”, what a hook!! “Bold yet fluid.” Interested to try this one after Steven’s description of flirty but somewhat formal. Very much into orange blossom these days; cleanliness, skin, fruit? What’s not to love!

  • Love that this new scent will be both long lasting and fresh. A combo that isn’t very common in feminine leaning offerings. Following @cafleurebonofficial on ig for a second entry my ig is @birdie_beauty_glamour

    Thanks

  • I enjoyed Steven’s video introducing the new release Valaya from PDM. The notes and bottle are beautiful. Michelyn’s review was enjoyable about the Perfumer the notes , bottle and she mentioned some others from the Fragrance house that I do love . Thank you for this Chance USA

  • I have been so excited for and anticipating this perfume! I knew the nose behind it was Quentin Bisch when I saw it had akigalawood. It’s almost his signature! His perfumes are so lovely and some of my favorites. His story is inspiring!

I so enjoyed learning about his intention behind this and how perfectly the bottle was crafted to fit the notes. Translucent, frosty and colorless! So chic and beautiful!

Steven was super insightful about how the notes work masterfully well together and how the fragrance feels and settles throughout its massive longevity! His review helped solidify that this is will be a much appreciated fragrance to add to my collection! Sounds signature worthy! 🙂

    Followed on Instagram @lorielbeth

Thank you for this article and opportunity; as well as Steven and Quentin for their wonderful input!

  • Both article and Steven’s video do a wonderful job of describing, reviewing, and contextualizing Valaya! Steven did an amazing job at explaining all of the fine details in this new Parfums de Marly fragrance. I felt that I learned a lot from Steven about how the notes are broken down and work together to create a very refined and elegant fragrance. I’m glad Steven also talked about both projection and longevity. Michelyn then comes in and provides even more context about Valaya’s creation story with Quentin Bisch. It’s always great to hear from an artist’s statement, in this case Bisch, and how the art piece is created. Michelyn continues the experience of getting to know Valaya by providing the story. Great and thorough reviews that warrant a subscription from @da808lion5 on YouTube and a follow from @cheysen.sipe215 on Instagram. Overall, I’m so excited for Valaya!

  • Adnand Shahini says:

Looks very interesting. It’s always a pleasure to try Parfums De Marly. My wife is very happy with Delina

  • Loved Steven’s video on this new fragrance, he always gives such in depth reviews. Quentin’s intro was very intriguing, I’ve never thought to associate notes of wood or vanilla with “clean” scents before. Would love to win this bottle to get my nose on this scent!

  • Thanks to Steven for bringing my attention to this fragrance. I love most of Quentin Bisch creations, so I’m very excited about this one.

  • As always Steven’s reviews are vivid and give me the courage to blind but a fragrance because I trust his nose and spot on descriptions. Quentin Bisch is one of my favorites and I enjoyed reading his process for this fragrance. It reminds me of my process at work where I start with the end result and go backwards to tailor a perfect customer experience.

  • Quentin Bisch is indeed one of the best perfumers working today. Parfums de Marly Valaya’s bottle and box allude to what we can expect Steven confirms that it has white florals and the composition has a musky vibe. I am in US.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed Steven’s review because it was descriptive. It showed the notes and accords while also including its performance. I am so interested to try the scent of ambrofix! I cannot even begin to tell you! I also enjoyed reading this article because I left more informed about the fragrance. It was so enticing to me to see these notes in a modern fragrance and I can tell that it will be a magical one to wear. Please consider me for the draw. I SO want to win this! From Ct

  • bigscoundrel says:

Quentin wanted a to make a modern fragrance built around the idea of skin and based on Steven’s review of it being soft, floral, citrusy, and musky, it sounds like he hit the mark. I hope I win this for my gf. New Jersey USA

  • Steven’s reviews are always so thorough and informative and I appreciate how his review echoed what Bisch says in his description. QB describes it as a fragrance of dualities: “Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted.” Steven describes it as professional and chic but also perfect for special occasions. Contrasting thoughts which have me intrigued. Musks can so easily blend in but this one sounds like it has the perfumers bold touch along with the versatility of musk. I’d love to try it! US

  • Keywa Henderson Thomas says:

I LOVE how Steven truly delved into each element of the fragrance itself while also maintaining the great format of breaking down each component of the fragrance (performance, projection etc). Quentin’s description of “cotton on skin” is beyond lovely! Enter me to win this please – I LOVE Parfums de Marly!

  • This sounds like a wonderful fragrance and I would love to have it! Delina is my signature scent and this one sounds right up my alley! Loved reading about it and listening to Stevens review! Following you on Instagram as well! Thank you for Thai wonderful opportunity!

  • This fragrance sounds amazing and I would love to add it to my collection! I loved reading and listening to Stevens review about it! Quentin Bisch’s Work is some of most favorite and more worn such as Delina! Thank you for this great opportunity! I’m also following you on Instagram!

  • I’ve been a longtime fan of Parfums de Marly, but have never taken time to explore the artistic process behind some of my favorite fragrances. The bottles themselves are all stunning, but reading Quentin explain how he gravitated towards an opaque bottle that reminds him of skin and selected certain notes for that reason was particularly interesting. Based on Steven’s review, I would definitely wear this fragrance to the office. I already get so many compliments when wearing my Delina perfumes, so I’m sure this will be no different!

  • Interesting to discover the bottle’s design aesthetic was the inspiration for the scent itself! And as if I wasn’t excited enough about this new PDM release, hearing that Steven (and others) have gotten 10+ hours of wear out it this fragrance makes me even more eager to have it in my collection. Thanks for the fantastic review and contest opportunity! Followed on IG as well.

  • unique and wonderful super versatile perfume with a beautiful presentation with the DNA of the Delina perfume. I love the bottle with that air so fresh and luxurious at the same time, as Steven says, perfect for all seasons of the year. Quentin Bisch a modern perfume with sensuality for this time. I follow them on instagram. @sweetlilyflower17 I’m from New Jersey USA

  • I have loved all the PDM scents that Quentin Bisch has created.
I am sure I will love this also.
I am interested in the synthetic notes in the fragrance.
    USA

  • Steven is always very informative with his reviews. He explains presentation, the perfumer and of course the smell. I’m already a huge fan of Quentin Bisch’s work. It’s interesting to hear about his process.

  • Me gusta las reseñas de redolessence que suben al canal de YouTube. Me encanta que hicieran un video reseña de la nueva fragancia de la casa parfumsdemarly sin duda toda una pasada. Ya estábamos esperando este nuevo lanzamiento.

  • I love Steven’s description of the perfume as “effervescent” and “exuberant”, because it adds to the dream of what Valaya could be. Quentin Bisch details the paradoxical experience of Valaya in CaFleureBon, teaching the audience that Valaya is more than just a scent. It is a phenomenon. I feel so captivated that I hope to one day live this fragrance.

  • Steven’s reviews was enjoyable and I am excited about this release because it sounds like the perfect spring/summer scent. I would love a full bottle to even try during the fall time as Steven mentioned. I’m intrigued. The perfumer, Quentin Bish, is a genius in his artistry of creating fresh scents. I was already a fan of his work for I have many fragrances by him.

  • Just saw a post about this and was looking forward to possibly hearing a review of it. Michelyn did an amazing job describing the bottle and how the notes tie into in. I love how Quentin knew exactly what he wanted when it came to this fragrance. He knew exactly how he wanted the bottle to look. He knew based off the description of what he wrote exactly how what he wanted the fragrance to smell like and I am happy to see that he accomplished it. Steven describes the peach in the fragrance smelling juicy and ripe blending together so well with the freshness with the musk and the white florals and I am just picturing the scent with that vanilla and I would love to smell it on my woman. This will definitely be a hit and I hope t win a bottle.

  • OMG, I am a huge fan of PDM fragrances and Valaya surely will be a hit.
I love how Quentin described the fragrance: Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted. Just amazing.
A modaern musk with flowery notes and specially longlasting is everything I need in a fragrance.
I hope I win this one
    USA here.

  • I love Michelyn’s comments about Quentin Bisch. He is also one of my favorite noses and he has a certain signatire in his work that just gives them a little special something. This one in particular sounds very interesting. I love the way he approached the production of this one, aiming to combne cotton and skin in a simple but multi-facted way. Steven’s comments about the fragrance certainly made it sounds like Quentin really nailed the formula here and made a soft yet long lasting scent. Reading from USA.

  • Very interesting video review and Mr Bisch introduction- idea about skin s very interesting.
Love Steven reviews and find it very detailed!
    Love PdM Layton, Delina!
Would like to win this beauty.

  • I love your skin but better fragrances. Cotton, wood and musks all combine to give a perfect transparency and urbane modernity. I find the liberal use of synthetics fascinating for such a sensual scent. Appreciate Steve’s discussion of projection and longevity. Follow
    @cafleurebonofficial on IG. MD, USA.

  • I’ve waited months for this review. And I trust Steven (it’s a Greek thing too). I worried that this would be found to be too powdery, too musky, just too regular. It seems that the 3 years that it took for this house has paid off. $300+ for a 75 ml in this economy is a lot to shell out, so it has to be worth it. But to be special, elegant, feminine, enveloping and sparkling takes time. Perfumers matter. And Bisch has had alot of love in recent years for his work (including for Amouage). But this is not a regular “white floral.” It’s more. And for that reason, I want it and I hope I get it. Thanks

  • Loved Quentin’s description of the fragrance. When Steven said my wife loves it, that got me. I tend to like the scents he says she likes.

  • I just watched Steven Gavrielatos’ review of Parfums de Marly Valaya on YouTube and I have to say, it was fantastic! His analysis of the scent was spot-on and I really appreciated the way he described the different notes and how they came together to create a truly unique and modern musk. The way he described the “cotton on skin, skin on cotton” sensation was particularly evocative and made me want to try the perfume for myself. The way he explained the balance of white flowers and woods also gave me a better understanding of the thought process behind the scent. Overall, it was a great review and I look forward to watching more of Steven’s videos in the future.

  • 1.I just realized that didn’t say anything about Steven and the article.
I’m a big fan of Marly fragrances and Steven is always tempting me into getting more of them, and I love everyone of the feminine line.
My congratulations, you are a great promoter! All the presentations for any fragrance that you did are so good that sometimes it hurts my wallet. Yes, I bought NASO di Raza Ravi because it was so marvelously presented. My man is in 7th heaven now.

2.Quentin Bisch is always spectacular. All, or pretty much everything from him speaks to me. And now I bet he is the best one to incorporate new synthetic molecules into the juice without that shallow feel of them. This work looks like another statement from a master

  • It’s so amazing the amount of work that goes into a pdm fragrance, but it’s very obvious once someone gets a whiff.
Thank you all for what you do.
Each of the reviews here were so in depth and inticing.
Can’t wait to get my nose on this one.
I already know it will be another Love.

I enjoyed Stevens description of the perfume as well as his breakdown of the perfume performance throughout the day and how it changes after the initial spray. I learned about Quentin Bisch’s inspiration and the light process behind this fragrance notes and presentation wise. I think the design of the bottle and the notes match the idea behind the scent perfectly. I enjoy the notes in this perfume a lot. @ cafleurebonofficial followed.

  • I really enjoyed how Steven broke down the notes and the “cotton on skin” descriptor from Quentin Bisch’s introduction was especially intriguing for me. I followed @cafleurebonofficial — @chelsweea

  • Amanda32828 says:

I really want to try this perfume. I enjoyed both reviews, the one by Steven and the written one by Michelyn. They were both very detailed and very much in line with what we know about the brand, about the quality of their offering and the premium ingredients used for their concoctions. Currently I own two parfums De Marly one being Delina Exclusif and the other Oriana, with Delina exclusif being one of my favorite. I hope that soon Valaya becomes another one of my favorites too. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the draw, commenting from Orlando, Fl. USA.

  • I’m excited to try Velaya as it sounds like something I would like from the way Steven described it on his YT video! Now knowing that Quentin is also the creator of Delina, I have really high expectations as Delina is an all time favorite signature scent of mine!

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I’ve been searching for my signature musk fragrance and appreciate Mr. Bisch’s desire to bring a modern musk being simple yet complex. I think a good musk should definitely not veer toward either too complex or simple. As always, Steven’s review is wonderful and it seems to go with what the perfumer has tried to capture – being inoffensive yet chic and with the citrus opening leading to a more complex dry down. This sounds lovely and I’d love to try it. From the US.

  • Steven & Michelyn!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Oh! I can’t wait to try this!!! The new muguet note! Akigalawood with peach! Is this white musks go to outer space? Exciting! Steven does such a great job of analyzing this fragrance! I really want to try it myself! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity! ❤️ USA

  • I am a fan of Parfums de Marly and CaFleureBon and of course Steven from Redolessence. I am intrigued and excited to win a bottle of this beauty to add to my collection.
I am from the US, Thank you

  • I do love the way Steven describes scents. He gives you a pretty good idea to what to expect. I have been on my scent journey for only a few months now and his channel is one of my go to channels when doing research. I truly hope I win this, as I can’t afford to purchase a perfume in this price range right now. I have learned on my journey that Quentin Bisch truly is a master and has literally been since he was born. As a child, he new what perfumes his teachers were wearing and would link people to the scents they wear. It shows the true talent he is. Please let this comment count twice. I just followed @cafleurebonofficial on instagram.

  • I love the notes especially the musk and white florals. I’m glad it’s not overly sweet. Thank you for the review Steven. I’m still looking for my signature everyday scent and feel this would be a great option.
I love that Quentin Bisch went with a “skin” and “clean” scent and that it seems to be long lasting!

  • This is a fragrance I’ve been considering buying, but I’m so happy I read this article 1st it was so informative. This will be my third Parfum de Marly fragrance.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s intro and her personal experience with the perfume and the link to Quentin’s post. What I got from Steven’s video review is that this is a very fresh and long-lasting perfume that could be really used any time. I am a Redolessence subscriber and enjoy the history and background that Michelyn gives in her introductions and the practical aspects that Steven touches on. Thank you as always. From continental USA.

  • Laurie Hicks says:

I feel like this will be a perfect addition to women’s collection. There was a need for an elegant yet casual, white t shirt fragrance. A clean musk, a bright floral. Can’t wait to get my nose on it!

  • I truly find the way Steven explains fragrance to be in itself the most enjoyable part. I leave the videos wanting to immediately open my wallet. The information is clear and eloquently presented and I almost always feel that’s it’s a better description then the website. I hope I win and good luck and graces to those whom have also entered.

  • Steven does such a thoughtful, knowledgeable and professional job on his reviews. He helps bring the fragrance to life and is one of my most trusted reviewers.

I read Quentin’s biography and was amazed by his perseverance in following his passion. I’m so happy for him and fragrance lovers that he has been able to fulfill his destiny.

A concert pianist once said to me that she gets upset when fans tell her that they wish she could play like her. She said that she didn’t feel like they understood the amount of work and sacrifice that it took to get to her level of performance. Quentin’s biography showed that it took so much more than talent and desire to get to achieve his goal to become a world class perfumer and to create so many magnificent fragrances. I own several.

I am intrigued by his concept for Valaya. Clean, sensual and complex! I can’t wait to experience it. The white bottle is beautiful and sounds like the perfect vessel for the notes.

  • Thanks for introducing new readers to Quentin Birch, Michelyn. I enjoyed reading about Bisch’s work with Parfums de Marly, clicking through into his Young Perfumer essay, and reading his thoughts on composing Valaya. I like that he thought through the details all the way down to the beautiful white bottle. I also enjoyed Steven’s detailed video review. You could tell right away from Steven’s excitement that he loves the bright, juicy, “effervescent” opening, as well as the clean, “overwhelmingly pleasant” freshness throughout. I also liked how he detailed how the vanilla works in this fragrance.

I’m in the USA. I follow @cafleurebonofficial on Instagram. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I have been waiting so long for a good and thorough review of Valaya and Steven did not disappoint. Steven’s review, this article and Quentin’s introduction confirmed that I need this fragrance asap! Steven’s description of this fragrance was the best I’ve heard thus far. I also enjoyed reading why Quentin decided on the white bottle and what he was trying to achieve with this fragrance. You can tell a lot of hard work and thought went into Valaya and I cannot wait to smell it. I hope I get the opportunity to win this beautiful scent. I just started following on instagram. IG: mo_yangsta

  • After looking at your YouTube review and the perfumer’s description above, I feel like I have smelled this with my own nose when I haven’t even come close! I’d love to actually smell this with my own bottle. And I literally just stumbled on your channel and the blog will be my next obsession for sure. Amazing, I love what you do.

  • I have been waiting for a good review and Steven did not dissapoint. I really enjoyed the way he described this fragrance. His video along with this article was really informative and I would love to try out this perfume. Quentin said this was a modern and clean cotton scent with velvety musk, vanilla and akigalawood. These are all thing I love in a fragrance and I hope to try it out soon. Also following on IG.

I’ve been waiting for the review of this new creation by Parfum de Marly Valaya and of course I’m so happy that you’ve posted a video. I always watched your video. I’ve been a follower for awhile now. Of course I really want to win this giveaway since this is my kind of scent. Thank you and more power on your channel.

  • Courtney Charisse says:

First, congrats on releasing this fragrance after working on it for 3 years! The bottle is gorgeous to me! It’s on par with Quentin Bisch’s description of the fragrance being minimalistic but faceted. Valaya is sounds so intriguing. Steven mentioned it has a peachy fruity vibe like Cassili (Cassili is a fun and bubbly somewhat casual fragrance for me) but Valaya is fresher, clean and anything but casual. Maybe the freshness-clean aspect is what makes it seem minimalistic and the fruity Vanilla makes it faceted. Very interesting. Also love that Michelyn tried it on her male neighbor and he wants a bottle for himself. Valaya sounds like a good fragrance for anyone. From NJ, Followed on Instagram, commented on the Valaya post

  • Parfums de Marly became a top notch brand in such a short period of time , one of the best out there, to my taste of course.
I rarely wear a suit, or tuxedo jacket , only on special occasions, but Steven take on Valaya made me think of last August, when I had to both cook , and attend as a guest an NPO gala , raising money for charity.
I know Steven said Valaya is not a gourmand, but I always relate fragrances to some sort of food, and I remembered how I had to make Peach Ricotta Layer Cake for the charity event, and later on to wear a suit.

“Parfums de Marly Valaya is the way I like to write perfumes. Simple yet complex. Bold yet fluid. minimalistic but faceted.”-Quentin Bisch”

So nice , I have very similar approach like Quentin Bisch, when I’m at my bakery . The recipe for a Cake, or perfume doesn’t have to be super complex, it’s the Baker and the products, and Quentin Bisch is quite a Chef in his field.
Personally I know Parfums de Marly for Herod first , every time it makes me feel like I’m THE king of the castle.
It’s a 50/50 toss up for me between Herod and Oajan, for my favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance.
    Appreciate Michelyn introduction,
Quentin Bisch thoughts , Steven nice review , and the giveaway campaign

I am a lover for the delina line, the original screams elegance, the exclusife is creamy and feminine, the la rose is fresh and pretty. I can’t wait to get my hand on this one!

Thanks for the fun review Steven!

Beautiful bottle, excellent presentation. I love the opening is an effervesecent citrus and fruit notes. The mid and base are a powerhouse of long lasting ACs.

I didn’t realize that this perfumer had so many other compositions for the house.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I love parfums de marly and have bought many of them but I would really like to smell this one.

  • Great review and article on PDM’s Valaya. Steven’s very thorough description of the notes and fragrance. Bright, zesty, exuberant, full of light, natural smelling. Clean, long lasting freshness. Good performance and projection, chic and urbane. I love that Quentin Bisch centered around the idea of skin. Simple yet complex. Beautiful bottle would love this beautiful creation by Quentin Bisch. TX USA

  • I liked that Steven’s video was straight to the point while still giving interesting details like how long pdm and Quentin worked on the fragrance and how they wanted it to be magnetic as well as naming notes.

  • I love that with Valaya Quentin wanted to make a sensual skin scent – I really enjoy perfumes that are “my skin but better.” I also like how Steven conveyed it’s freshness and elegance. I would love to win a bottle – thank you for the opportunity! I’m in MN, USA and follow @cafleurebonofficial on instagram @ra7chel.

  • As someone just finding my love for niche perfumes I love finding this brand just as a new scent is being released. I’ve yet to experrience it but the perfumes from them that I’ve smelled, only four so far, they are all amazing. I have been looking to a lot of youtubers for thoguhts, and opinions, on niche brands and I loved Steves video. The frosted glass, as he said, does have an innocence to it and a purity – I love it.

  • Steven did an amazing job as usual explaining this fragrance that I almost could smell it myself lol. I’ve never purchased a Delina fragrance due to the price range that I can’t afford but I just might have to save up for this one! Awesome job Steven!!!!

  • Being a vain man compliments are really important to me.Valaya with its “super modern musk” , orange blossom , and subtle fruity-vanilla sweetness , and , for sure will get me unsolicited compliments , smelling amazing.
I approach work in a similar manner as Quentin Bisch , I really like how he didn’t wanted to rush, and took his time to develop , and upgrade Valaya to his , and Parfums de Marly level of expectations.
Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly, it’s full , balsamic sweet , one of my favorites ever.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

I loved Steven’s Youtube review and Quentin Bisch’s introduction. I loved learning how Parfums de Marly CEO Julien Sprecher and the multi-award-winning Givaudan perfumer Quentin Bisch worked for three years to develop the new perfume Valaya. Quentin Bisch is one of the best and most popular perfumers in the current world of perfumery and this is his 5th fragrance composed for Parfums de Marly. I loved reading his self written Young Perfumer Essay on Cafleurebon. Steven described this fragrance so eloquently. It has a fresh and zesty citrus opening with a fruity and fleshy peach beautiful florals and a beautiful Vanilla. The synthetic molecules for Ambergris, Vetiver, and Patchouli really seemed to capture Steven’s attention and add to the incredible performance of this fragrance. It’s feminine leaning, but even Steven and Michelyn’s neighbor seemed to really enjoy Valaya. I follow @cafleurebonofficial on Instagram @michaelprincefragrance I am from the USA.

  • I have become such a fan of Delina & Delina Exclusif, I rotate them both every other day. I’m sooo looking forward to trying Valaya. it sounds like such a beautiful scent and the bottle is so timeless, can’t wait to add it to my collection.

  • Esmeralda c g says:

    Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Well said! So interesting to hear the story behind the fragrance rather than just listing out all the notes. Would have never guessed the white, almost transparent bottle was selected because it’s reminiscent of skin. It definitely makes a lot of sense with the musk. I already like this because of the bergamot and white peach in the top, but Steven’s description really sold it for me. So excited to try this one out.

I live in Miami, FL, USA. Instagram is @gabrielrabs.

  • I enjoyed listening to Steven’s review on Valaya. He was pretty thorough and did a great job presenting this new fragrance. He made it sound so beautiful. I also loved learning Quentin’s take on Valaya, the though behind the bottle and the scent itself. I can’t wait to smell it! I’m definitely going to Neiman’s on 2/1 just so I can smell it and test it out.!

Reposting this because I don’t think I was signed in the first time. Also, I made sure to follow the cafleurebon instagram page this time!

When I think Parfums de Marly , I always think Pegasus . Sure PdM do have all kinds of quality fragrances like Oajan , Herod , Layton , Greenley , the Exclusif stars , and the popular on Instagram Haltane, still I do not get how regular Pegasus is getting so little attention. As much as I like the other I’ve mentioned , my 125ml bottle of Pegasus I cherish most. Smells fantastic , lasts over 10 hours on skin , and projects beyond strong – fills up a room. Compliments galore too.
Being in tailoring business, I would wear Valaya while working with clients at the shop , and on formal occasions. Carolina blue bespoke double breasted suit type of fragrance. Akigalawood accord is tickling my fancy even more .
Quentin Bisch is attracted by the finer things in life , and , and has one refined and elegant character.
I’m perfectionist like him , that’s why I was so impressed how he thought Valaya was just OK, but he was looking for something else , close to perfection fragrance, and self-satisfaction , one of the most important factors for every artist.
I’m a tailor, but just like every master perfumer, i believe I’m an artist too.
Thank you Steven, and Fine Fragrances Distribution

  • Love Quentin’s creativity with fragrance. He’s one of my favorite perfumers. Steven’s presentations are always so informative to watch. Love a peach note. Going to read that Young Perfumer Essay now. This seems perfect for the upcoming (yet seems so far away) spring. That bottle is gorgeous. I’d love to win this, it would look nice side by side with my Delina bottle. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Steven described the notes in this fragrance so well, I just have to get my nose on this soon! I love Quentin’s intention behind the presentation of the bottle; it really creates a nice imagery of this fragrance 🙂

  • I was so waiting for Valaya review on Cafleurebon , ever since the fragrance was announced.
Just WOW at Quentin Bisch good in not enough, I’m aiming higher level of dedication
I like there’s nothing overbearing in Valaya , but the blend is really smooth , and realing , future classic I would like to explore.
Love both of my Delina bottles , I mean i have the regular one for a long time, and Exclusif version for around a year now , both Quentin Bisch creations.
I also bought Byerley twice for my dad’s birthdays during the years ,and he absolutely loves it.
My favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance is Delina Exclusive
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • I tend to believe Valaya is delicate sweet fruity , and soapy white florals fragrance, like a counterpart to Galloway . Purity in a bottle
My favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance is by far Habdan – it’s UNREAL how good it is…to me at least.I’ll never get rid of it …no way.One of my all time favorite fragrances , and to me the the most underrated Parfums de Marly.

Love the discriprion of cotton on skin in the introduction and from Steven’s review I like how he describes this perfume as sophisticated elegant but clean. Thanks for the giveaway

  • Always love Steven’s reviews; he makes every perfume so approachable and immediately understandable and this review was no different. Quentin Bisch’s description of a “super modern” musk is so intriguing. I love musk but they are often dismissed for being too much like bodily functions or too squeaky clean. I wonder what his interpretation of a musk for our times would be. I’m in the US.

  • Kathleen Barbacci says:

I’m intrigued by Stephen’s description of the opening… Juicy and sweet. What makes it even more interesting is that Quentin Bisch says he wanted to give it a skin like quality. I think these two elements combined probably make for a sexy warm weather fragrance!

  • sephrenia300 says:

Great article! What I learned from Quentin’s introduction is insight into his creative process – that the fragrance was born around the idea of skin, but a super modern cotton-on-skin musk. I like the idea of modern musks that are sensuous and white-flower centered, yet still clean, simple yet complex.

What I enjoyed about Steven’s Youtube review is learning how the perfumer and the creative director were entranced by the hook of the fragrance, with the intoxicating combination of aldehydes and citrus and peach, made more long lasting and intense by the synthetic wood fixative. That sounds like a lovely combination. I am following your new Instagram page @cafleurebonoffical, my Insta name is momo.liu.121 and I live in the US.

  • I’m so excited to try this one! The way Steven describes this with the citrus at the top and the way Quentin Bisch mentions cotton on skin… I am dying to try this! These are my favorite!

  • Amazing scent! I own Delina. This smells more fresh and brighter. I feel like this is a great day scent compared to Delina which is best for evening.
