INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka Review (Alberto Morillas) + a risqué and carnal giveaway

Blessed Baraka INITIO Parfums Prives

INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka by Olya Bar

We have seen many vanilla-focused perfumes arrive on the market. Why is it always popular? Vanilla is 90’s nostalgia bottled up, for many of us at least. If you grew up during the days of Body Shop and Bath & Body Works, you must remember smelling the sweet whiff of comfort from every aisle. This glorious ingredient’s revival waltzed into the niche world a few decades ago. It flirted with our senses, reminded us of all our good times, and slowly but surely seduced us into its submission once again.

INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka is part of the Absolutes collection, which celebrates the rediscovered grandeur of the world of scent, restoring all its significance and elevating it towards the sublime absolutes call upon a selection of mystical, narcotic substances. The fragrance pays homage to the soothing ingredient we associate with baking and comfort, but it explores a a very different facet of vanilla, quite a risqué one. In my book, Master Perfumer, Alberto Morillas can do no wrong; I haven’t tried a perfume created by him I did not like. The master perfumer has impeccable style, from his fashion sense to his stunning work for various fragrance houses and his INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka composed in 2015 is no different.

Most seductive vanilla perfumes

So what does it smell like? The carnal opening of INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka is all white florals with a fragrance so potent; you can almost taste them oozing with sensual nectar. Next comes a sensual caress of sandalwood, gently wrapping itself around your skin with its slightly peppery and sophisticated scent. Finally, the vanilla steps out of the shadow to play, and it’s the most decadent, rich, and delectable kind you can get. It’s boozy and smoky, with a touch of dark roasted coffee. It’s a ghost accord and isn’t listed anywhere, but it turns the whole composition into a vanilla affogato for me. I love a slight touch of cocoa powder on top, rounding up this blend effortlessly. I feel its warmth slowly seeping deep into my skin.

Finally, there is a backbone of amber and musk, with a dash of something quite naughty. Is it a need or just pure desire? Is this a fleeting moment of weakness, a nostalgia we will grow out of once again, or is this craving something primal within us that keeps us wanting more? Time will tell, for now we can keep indulging without any remorse.

INITIO PARFUMS PRIVES Blessed Baraka

INITIO Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka by Olya

Trends will inevitably come and go, just like in any industry. Still, I foresee the love for vanilla going nowhere soon as it’s rooted deep in our psyche and closely tied to our instinct of sugar consumption necessary for our survival. So argue or not but evolution has written this chapter for centuries to come, and I am not fighting the instinctual craving for one of the most delicious ingredients on earth. Long live Vanilla!

The bottle was kindly gifted to me but opinions are always my own.

Notes: White Flowers, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Amber, Musk

Olya’s review of Initio Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka sounds absolutely divine. I can only imagine what Alberto Morillas created when Olya describes its white floral nectar opening, followed by the peppery sensuality of the sandalwood, and then the grand entrance of the rich vanilla in my favorite version, the boozy kind…Delicious. And oh boy, the idea of that dark roasted coffee note being evoked from the vanilla, this sounds sublime. Then hearing about the presence of amber and musk in its dry down, wow! I am quite certain I would love to wear this one.
I’ve been seeking out a vanilla fragrance to add to my collection, and I would love nothing more than this to be the one.
Thank you for the lovely review, Olya!

I love the description of this scent – vanilla done in a non-cloying, mysterious and intriguing way. I would love to win this bottle. I live in TX, USA

  • I had not realized this was an Alberto Morillas creation; no wonder this is such a special scent! I love how Olya highlighted the “ghost notes” of this perfume, in my opinion, the note breakdown does not do this scent justice.

    From Tennessee, USA

  • I’m always on the hunt for a more sophisticated vanilla, and a vanilla mixed with boozy notes, musk, and sandalwood is exactly that. I’m also very curious how the white flowers play with these notes. I am a registered reader in the U.S., and I thank you for this opportunity!

My favorite part about Olya’s review is Olya! She’s so passionate about fragrance & I can’t help but feel Carlos from BFL whenever i hear Olya’s name. They will forever be synonymous because I first discovered Olya from BFL & the love & respect Carlos had for her was contagious. Good luck from Boston all & RIP Carlos! We miss you!

  • I have heard a lot of good things about this fragrance but have yet to try it myself. Olya’s decription of it makes it sounds quite tantalizing. I love scents that highlight the darker side of vanilla, such as Vanhera by Laboratorio Olfattivo. This sounds like it is defnitely in that ballpark and I would love to give a chance to seduce me. I live in NC, USA.

  • Florentina says:

Wow Olya, smoky and boozy vanilla. I am a big fan of Initio’s Absolute Aphrodisiac, which is more of a dirty vanilla, I guess. Great review

  • I liked this description: “boozy and smoky, with a touch of dark roasted coffee.” It’s definitely my kind of fragrance. I also liked the first picture in this article – CHAOS. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. Mich USA

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

I don’t typically like vanilla, scented perfume, but the way this one is described has me very intrigued. Plus, I love the work of a master perfumer. I would love to win this. I live in Indiana.

  • Initio Blessed Baraka is centered on vanilla but it explores a risque side of vanilla. The fragrance has an amber and musky backbone. I also learned now that it was created by Alberto Morillas. I am in US.

  • Extremetraveler says:

I love the fact that I said “Alberto can do no wrong” and immediately read the like immediately after – his artfulness precedes him.
The allure of vanilla is something to to cherish – I never really wanted to dabble deeply in it for myself because of the stark humidity and long hot season here in the lower great plains, but one crisp fall day when I sprayed herod by PDM for the first time and let it bake down past the pepper and sweet pipe tobacco… that vanilla really made me just want to cuddle up with an old sweetheart to enjoy the sweater weather.
This however, sounds like vanillas’ impulsive, suave, ambery, good looking younger brother – I always hear this on the favorites list of those who try it, but Olya definitely piqued my interest with this intriguing and alluring blend.

  • Enter me in the draw and for the Olya mentioning vanilla and Bath and Body Works really took me back to Warm Vanilla Sugar. I can’t hardly stand it now but man I used to love it.

  • petergigov says:

We have one mostly modern, with slight hints to the classics multifaceted fragrance today , and I believe with more than high compliment factor . Being a vain man I need to smell good, but also compliments are important to me.
With Initio Parfums Prives Blessed Baraka i’ll get a lot of positive attention, smelling amazing.
The vanilla , peppery and woods are all so appealing to me. The coffee will give the fragrance the modern feel i’m looking for, making it more enigmatic.
Side Effect i like a lot , and now is in my collection
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

Blessed Baraka sounds so alluring & compelling—I’m always drawn to smoky vanillas & I’d love to smell like a vanilla affogato. The phenomenon of ghost notes always intrigued me, too. This review was so evocative & painted a clear picture of how Blessed Baraka evolves. In the US.

  • I love Olya’s reference to 90s nostalgia and how her description of experiencing Blessed Baraka instantly convinced me I would love this fragrance.
    In the U.S.

  • “The fragrance pays homage to the soothing ingredient we associate with baking and comfort, but it explores a a very different facet of vanilla, quite a risqué one.”

“It’s a ghost accord and isn’t listed anywhere, but it turns the whole composition into a vanilla affogato for me”

Wow , thank you Olya. Being a Pastry Chef , the two quotes made me smile
For those who don’t know, Affogato is Italian Coffee based dessert, and traditionally should be made by pouring hot , freshly brewed espresso is poured over the cold vanilla Gelato. The classical recipe is two scoops of ice cold Gelato, and one shot of espresso. Most places in Italy, nowadays at least serve the Affogato with a splash of Amaretto or other liquors , maybe that’s why in US it’s considered a beverage, some even called it a cocktail, but in Italy it’s a dessert
Olya take on Blessed Baraka made me think of going on a date with my girlfriend, and eating Affogato with Amaretto in some small Italian cafeteria.
There are two Initio Parfums I know now , and really like, Oud for Happiness, and Side Effect.
To Michelyn question from the previous giveaway, when I think of Oud for Happiness ,i’m thinking about Space Cake , with lots of ginger, you can get in most coffee shops in Netherlands, and now in some states in US. The other Initio Parfums fragrance i know is Side Effect, smells similar to Vanilla Bean Bundt Cake , drizzled with Rum.
Appreciate the culinary referenced review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Olya did an incredible job describing the notes in this fragrance, and based on the fact that they wrote a book on Alberto Morillas’ ability to make amazing fragrances, I have no doubt this one follows that trend. The first thing that pops into my mind when I hear vanilla for me is overwhelming sweetness, but this fragrance seems to lean more towards a boozy, floral, and little bitter from the coffee note. I really enjoyed this review’s depth and would love to see how the coffee mixes with the vanilla over time. From TX, USA.

  • Thanks for the review, the looks of the bottle is awesome and the notes scream date night.

Best part of the review is the dry down described as a dash of something naughty. Who doesn’t like a naughty fragrance.

    Thanks form the USA

  • Thank you Olya. I agree with you that Alberto Morillas is a giant in the perfume industry and I’ve had multiple of his creations as my signature scent at different points in time. Indeed my first noteworthy fragrance purchase was Givenchy Pi which I wore for several years. I also love the vanilla smell and quite like the note in fragrances and one of my favorite reviewers actually rates Initio Parfums Privés Blessed Baraka as one of the best so it’s also in my long list of must-try fragrances. I’m in USA

  • I had a chance to smell Initio BB and Olya’s description is spot on. Decadent, rich vanilla. I’d love to win this. New Jersey, USA

  • From Olya’s review of Blessed Baraka, it seems to be a seductive, comforting perfume. Liked the way she described the vanilla fragrance in popular stores, and then tied it to the instinct for sugar and “our need for survival”. Having tried Initio Parfums and impressed by their quality perfumes, I would love to try Blessed Baraka. Thanks for the review and draw. In continental USA.

  • Omg I am a huge fan of Initio Parfums fragrances, being Side Effects my favorite one yet.
Olya did a fantastic job here. I can not believe that the legend Alberto Morillas himself made this fragrance.
I love that it has white flowers and the vanilla plays a huge role in here. I would love to get my nose on it soon.
    VA USA here.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

I’d have to agree with Olya that Morillas could do no wrong. He’s created so many iconic fragrances, some that have changed the industry itself. I’m really intrigued by the description of this one. I also agree that vanilla scents tap into deeply imbedded feelings of comfort and calm…addictive even. I appreciate the generosity of Initio in making this available for giveaway. I haven’t tried any of their offerings. I would be grateful to have this in my collection. Many blessings from Virginia, USA.

  • Johnmc5000 says:

I have to agree with the reviewer, vanilla isn’t going anywhere in fragrance anytime soon.
Combined with these notes it is a perfect fit for this brand.
The box is sexy the logo is sexy its all too much….

I’m well familiar with all Initio Parfums fragrances , and if I have to rate my favorite ones , depending on the mood I’m in:
My overall Initio Parfums rating would be:
    1. Side Effect
    2. Oud for Happiness
    3. Oud for Greatness/ Blessed Baraka
My opinion of Blessed Baraka is similar to what Olya is getting, but definitely not the same.
Thankfully I don’t get overload of carnal and/indolic white florals, and there’s also nothing peppery on my skin.
I can see the affogato comparison, there’s definitely coffee in it , and I also get the smoky , and boozy feel , both the coffee , incense like, and red wine aromas are quite dominant. What I also get is raspberries, or some other red berries.
As a whole I believe Blessed Baraka is exquisite, and sophisticated vanilla fragrance.
    All profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • FragranceWoman says:

As a fan of deep vanilla in perfumes I had to pay attention to this. Morillas is a great perfumer. I am curious as to what he did with this note. It also sounds perfectly unisex and I love that. Peppery sandalwood in the middle notes sounds beautiful if the vanilla is peaking through. The smokey dark vanilla with roasted coffee is the perfect warming note that I would love to experience. I love Olya’s review as she gets to the point and she has an exquisite taste.

  • Olya’s description of Initio Parfums Prives Blessed Baraka makes it sound like a delicious gourmand. The boozy vanilla with the dark roasted coffee note would make a delectable, comforting drink. The splash of white florals with its intense carnality combined with sandalwood, amber and musk intertwined in a gourmand just shows the skill level of Alberto Morillas. MD, USA

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Olya, I agree…Long live Vanilla! One of my favorite notes. I enjoy the warmth this can convey. I own many Initio Parfums Prive and this is one that has escaped my nose. Well, no longer. How could I not have gotten my nose on this one, yet. Especially, this being and Alberto Morillas creation. It is just a matter of a short time that this will be in my collection. Maybe from this giveaway? 😉

    Thanks for the review, Olya.
You are spot on about master perfumer Alberto Morillas, or as I call him Señor Alberto Morillas, to give him tte grandiose status he deserves. All his creations are outstanding.

Blessed Baraka is no exception and for what you said, the nuances of cocoa, and dark roasted coffee, this has a gourmand style, which I like to wear in the colder weather.

Viva la Vanille. I hope I can win this giveaway. From an outstanding house, by el Señor Morillas.

  • This one has been on my wish list for awhile! Great review, I love the different descriptions of how vanilla has been interpreted. NV, USA.

  • I am curious about exploring more fragrances from Alberto since Olya says he can do no wrong. I often follower perfumer’s work, but Alberto is not on my radar and I am wondering why. I’ve not heard of a fragrance compared to Affogato before, sounds like a winner. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • I agree, Olya — vanilla isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, at least not on my watch! Blessed Baraka sounds absolutely scrumptious. And I love the bottle’s mysterious and intriguing design. Thanks for the draw! Indiana, USA.

  • Olya described Blessed Baraka as smelling like a vanilla affogato and that’s all I need to hear! This sounds like such a warm and inviting scent. Thank you for the chance to win! I’m in MN, USA.

  • Outstanding review by Olya of Initio Parfums Blessed Baraka. What I enjoyed most about Olya’s review of Initio Blessed Baraka is mentioning our timeless love craving for rich vanilla and sensual peppery sandalwood which is my favorite note. Brilliant! Thanks for such a great giveaway! Greetings from the USA

  • I much prefer boozy, potent vanilla fragrances to the smell of sweet vanilla gourmands, so the smoky ghost accord in Blessed Baraka is intriguing. Also, that heady amber and musk base sounds like a perfect pairing.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I own Oud for Greatness , considered by me , my Initio Parfums Neiman Marcus sales associate , and many others Initio best offering , and I’m sure I’ll enjoy Blessed Baraka too .
I feel that the first is formal occasions only fragrance , the way i wear it at least, but Blessed Baraka relative is very much a alluring potion, made for playful nights scent, Rococo bouquet of white flowers , coffee , something boozy , and vanilla.
Posh seductive fragrance I’d absolutely love to win
    Thanks for the draw

  • I, too, am a fan of Mr. Morillas work. I am all there for this ghost coffee note! The vanilla sounds my style, more boozy and smoky than birthday cake. I love the sound of the fruits and nectar as well. It sounds delectible! I am in the USA and thank you for the draw.

  • I enjoyed reading this review and imagining how this perfume would smell! Sounds like Blessed Baraka is pure indulgence from the white floral opening all the way through the melting affogato conclusion, almost a guilty pleasure. I’m in the US, thank you for the draw!

  • Regis Monkton says:

Perfumer Alberto Morillas is definitely one of my favorite perfumers, and I’m intrigued to see what his work for Initio Parfums is like. I can enjoy vanilla in fragrances, and I’d like to see how it’s used in this fragrance. Olya caused me to be intrigued to see how the vanilla pairs with the white florals and with dark roasted coffee. Certainly, I’d like to try a fragrance which includes a vanilla aspect which is described as: “it’s the most decadent, rich, and delectable kind you can get. It’s boozy and smoky, with a touch of dark roasted coffee.” I live in the U.S.A.

  • foreverscents says:

Olya’s review brought back fond memories of the 90s when I would frequently go to the Body Shop to smell all their potions. I have recently returned to my love of vanilla fragrances. I am in search of a risqué vanilla fragrance and Blessed Baraka sounds like it will fit the bill. The white flower notes along with the amber and musk certainly sound like a carnal vanilla.
    I live in the USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

    Thanks for the review Olya!

Blessed Baraka was quite an interesting creation. I have strong memories of a floral booziness in the opening, followed by the strong musks and then the wonderful ambery vanillic drydown.

It’s a fragrance that I think will never get old.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Amanda32828 says:

Another beautiful review by Olya. I love the description of the notes and the way Olya described the vanilla accord in the scent. I think that the way these notes are presented it definitely makes out of this fragrance a must have in any perfume’s collector inventory. Thank you for another beautiful review, commenting from Orlando, Fl. USA.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Blessed Baraka is right up my alley fragrance, not overly aggressive, sexy , woody, slightly sweet and boozy, with really round up characteristics.
Because of Olya Bar , I saw myself wearing the fragrance, with dark Burgundy , custom tailored suit , crafted from an Zegna fabrics . The striking color is equivalent to Blessed Baraka , and makes it special , the suit and the fragrance are perfect for night outs , or dates .
I know 4 Initio Parfums fragrances Side Effect , Oud for Greatness , Atomic Rose and Psychedelic Love , and also in my possession is 7.5ml travel sprayer of Side Effect , my favorite. Now all Initio travel sprays are 10ml , previously they were 7.5ml .
Thank you Olya , and Fine Fragrances

  • Blessed Baraka is possibly the most underrated Initio Parfums Prives fragrance.
It’s so addictive, very boozy , musky and sexy vanilla. At least I can smell of mulled wine, with jammy red fruits , and a bit of coffee too. Splendid aroma every fragrance enthusiast should at least try.
Rehab was my scent of the day, smells similar to Lavender French Hard Candy from L’Ami Provencal i purchase regularly for many, many years from Amazon.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Olya’s review of Initio Parfums Blessed Baraka. I loved learning more about our fascination with the note of Vanilla in perfumery and how it has become increasingly popular since the 1990s. I also love the fact that the legendary perfumer Alberto Morillas has created this amazing fragrance. Blessed Baraka sounds like a true work of art featuring florals, Sandalwood, and of course Vanilla. I like the smoky, boozy, resinous, and coffee nuances that Olya alludes to that aren’t listed in the note breakdown. I am from the USA.

  • What I enjoyed about Olya’s review is the description of the fragrance. Reading the notes doesn’t really draw me to this fragrance. It seems a bit basic, but I really want to try it now because I love being covered in fragrance. I want to taste the vanilla, feel the flower petals, and bath in a sandalwood bathtub as I sip on coffee. This fragrance just sounds so yummy.
