INITIO Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration (Pierre-Constantin Guéros and Maurice Roucel) + a taste of honey giveaway

INITIO Parfums Prives Addictive Vibrations

Initio Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration by Olya Bar©

If one knows anything about honey, its smell, and taste are highly addictive. Intoxicatingly sweet, it has been considered an aphrodisiac for centuries.  INITIO Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration is giving me incredibly sensual honeyed grape-like vibes. Imagine an old vineyard in the middle of the spring. The smell of apple blossom mingles with the sweet aroma of the wine as the maceration process settles in, in which the phenolic materials of the grape—tannins and flavor compounds—are leached from the grape skins, seeds and stems into the must. A highly aromatic process that fills the entire room with a heady aroma of wine, tart berries, and wooden barrels. While maceration is usually associated with wine, it is used with other drinks, such as Campari and crème de cassis as well as steeping unflavored spirits with herbs for making herb-based alcohol like absinthe.

Now you may wonder which type of wine smells like honey. Such is often the case in rich late-harvest dessert wines, like a glass of Muscat. With Sauternes or late-harvest Muscat, you’ll pick up on spices like ginger, jam, and the heady smell of overripe fruit, which often starts to smell like honey. A lustful blend of delicious wine you may indulge in after a good dinner.  INITIO Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration is a truly voluptuary blend as it focuses on three equally sexy ingredients, caramelized orange blossom, skin musk, and honey—a sensual spring blend of masterful seduction.

A heart of honey and caramelized orange blossom reigns supreme in this perfume; the history of this golden nectar of love dates as far back as 500 BC when Greek philosopher and father of modern medicine Hippocrates prescribed it to increase sexual vigor. Honey is believed to be the nectar of Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess of love, procreation, and beauty. I wouldn’t go as far as prescribing INITIO Addictive Vibration as the remedy for such… but it lives up to its name.

I find the natural scent of honey quite intriguing as it can be quite a chameleon, and depending on its nectar source, honey can be floral, fruity, smoky, woody, spicy, nutty, or earthy. In this composition, you can vividly pick up on its indolic breath, making me think there is a jasmine pinch hiding beneath the fluffy apple blossoms and grape soda. The dry down is the balsamic base of soft vanilla with a hint of amber and musk, the essence of sex, which completes this blend perfectly, bringing this to a full circle of all things pleasure. Whether you are indulging in the sweet nectar of love itself or picking up on whiffs of it in your wine, pair it with Addictive Vibration for a double trouble effect of a sensory immersion.

Notes: Apple Blossom, Orange Blossom, Honey, Vanilla, Musk.

The bottle was kindly gifted to me but opinions are always my own.

I love the authentic smell of honey! I don’t have any fragrances that are honey driven and revolve around it. Also, the Amber base adds a bit of umphm to the fragrance making it a robust offering from Initio. I’d love to win a bottle of it.

  • I have only tried Atomic Rose from Initio and have adored that one and love this house! I love the smell of honey. From a designer house, I love Le Parfum from Elie Saab which centers around jasmine and honey. I love the honey in that fragrance. Would love to give this one a try. From Ct USA thanks!

Thanks Olya for that review. Wow, never know honey can be in wine. I don’t have any honey scented fragrances so this would be a great addition to my collection. I’m also a DJ and my brand for the music I play is called Milk and Honey Music.

I like Olya’s reviews. She described it well. Honey/boozy/fruity…” Honey is believed to be the nectar of Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess of love, procreation, and beauty. I wouldn’t go as far as prescribing INITIO Addictive Vibration as the remedy for such… but it lives up to its name.”

Drying down to a bed of vanilla, amber and musk; this seems like a great fragrance centering on honey.. I would love to try because it seems like it has an animalic side of it which i loves..

  • I love the smell of honey, it’s sweetness combined with rich indolic nuances is sensual and comforting. I enjoyed Olya’s description of the grape and wine facets within the fragrance. I can easily imagine the tannins of the wine pairing beutifully with those indolic notes from the honey – not to mention the fruitiness that in undoubtedly in there as well. This sounds like a very unique fragrance and I would love to give it a shot. I live in NC, USA.

I learn something new in here daily.
Olya nailed it when describing honey from the nectar source: floral, fruity, smoky…. Olya went on and on describing it.

For some reason, I always thought it was linear. I was wrong.

Initio is a house I really want to get a fragrance from.

    From Massachusetts.

  • Initio Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration is from Roucel who has a great track record in both gourmand and oriental perfumes and this seems like it borrows from both categories. The honey-grape and wine vibes make it seem like this is relatively sweet composition and more of a cold weather and/or evening wear. I am in US.

  • Love initio and Olga is great with her wines
Honey is a treat in perfume and anything by Roucel and gueros has to be great

  • Sweet review Olya. I wish I had a talent to describe fragrances like you did. I love Initio brand and definitely is interested in winning one. Thank you for generous gift.

  • I’ve been on the hunt for a honey perfume, and this sounds like it could be it — sexy, sticky nectar. Yummy!

I love Initio Side Effect, so I’ve got high expectations for Initio’s rendition of honey especially after reading what Olya had to say about it. Hello from the USA!

  • I’ve always been a fan of wine-based notes in fragrances because I love how wine smells. I like to pretend that I enjoy the taste of wine, but frankly, I only really enjoy dessert wines. Olya’s review mentions this scent is reminiscent of a dessert wine with notes of honey, and that sounds absolutely delicious. Honey-florals is one of my favorite combinations

Olya’s review is always outstanding as expected.
This time I was particularly intrigued by the sexy and sensual notes. Thanks for sharing history of Ancient Greece Aphrodite, Olya, to let us feel the true essence of s.ex this fragrance conveys!

  • Enjoyed the history of honey and description of it’s various uses in Olya Bar’s review of INITIO Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration. Interesting that it is supposed to have been prescribed by Hippocrates as an aphrodisiac. The only honey perfume I have tried is Montale’s Honey Aoud, and it is sweet and lovely. INITIO Parfums Privés Addictive Vibration doesn’t have many listed notes, but the ones listed indicate it to be a seductive perfume. Liked the pictures in this review too. I have only tried Initio Oud for Happiness, and it is intense and lovely. Thanks for the review and a very generous draw. From continental United States.

  • I liked Olya’s description of the taste of honey – “floral, fruity, smoky, woody, spicy, nutty, or earthy.” Addictive Vibration sounds like the perfect fragrance to wear while enjoying a glass of wine. Thanks for the opportunity. Mich USA

  • Of course Initio i going to be compared to Hippocrates definition of an aphrodisiac! Regardless, these fragrances have always wowed me and this sounds like no exception and I am looking forward to this draw. USA

  • I’ve loved Intios’s blends and their magnolia note in a couple of their blends has always been a fave. I’m always up for neroli and honey. And I know Initio can do this type of magic. I’m totally sold on this one. The type of just shy of gourmand that I love.

I enjoyed reading Olya’s review — the fact that the scent of honey often changes with the type of flower that is the source of the nectar is cool! • I love honey fragrances, and I enjoyed the review. The drydown sounds simply wonderful! I enjoyed the historical references that it was used as an aphrodisiac!

  • I really like honey based fragrances and the combination with floral blossoms, vanilla and musk in Addictive Vibrations sounds like a spring gourmand delight. The comparison with Muscat is interesting. I always pick up toasted notes in Muscat which seems to be reflected in the carmelized orange blossom Olya mentioned. MD, USA.

  • Great review by Olya. I am a huge fan of Initio Fragrances.
The Addictive Vibration fragrance from INITIO Parfums Privés is a sensual and addictive scent that captures the essence of honey and the aroma of a vineyard in the springtime. The scent is reminiscent of the maceration process used in winemaking and other drinks, with its heady aroma of wine, tart berries, and wooden barrels. It is a fragrance that is sure to capture the attention of those who appreciate sweet and sensual scents, and is perfect for those looking to add a touch of seduction to their fragrance collection.

This article is making me anxious for spring and the bees return and running though a vineyard!! We were at 65 degrees today, but going back to the 40’s. Some of my favorite fragrances are considered honeyed, e.g. “Jubilation XXV Man”, “Euphoria Amber Gold for Men”, “Un Air d’Apogee”. I like how there are different ways to make a fragrance smell honeyed, e.g. the use of mimosa. I’d like to become more familiar with Initio Parfums, and I think that I might like this fragrance. I like the idea of using apple blossom with orange blossom and honey. I definitely like the sound of “sensual honeyed grape-like vibes”. I live in the U.S.A.

  • “If one knows anything about honey, its smell, and taste are highly addictive. Intoxicatingly sweet, it has been considered an aphrodisiac for centuries.”

Tell me about it , I’m a Pastry Chef 🙂

“While maceration is usually associated with wine..”

Or food maceration , both…soaking processes.

“I find the natural scent of honey quite intriguing as it can be quite a chameleon, and depending on its nectar source, honey can be floral, fruity, smoky, woody, spicy, nutty, or earthy.”

It can be a lot more , even in some , more rare cases quite animalic, if the nectar comes from plants in the aster family, for example goldenrod and small daisy-like flowers that grow in clusters. The taste is great through. Nepalese hallucinogenic honey do smell unique too , sweet, boozy and funky.
About honey and wine thing , as a tasting note, it’s generally understood that the wine contains no actual honey. However, since the Roman times the process of fortification exists, later came to be known as chaptalisation, when sugar is added to the grapes prior to fermentation. It’s should not to be confused with ‘honey wine’, which is actually mead, and is made from fermented honey instead of grapes.
Olya take on Initio Parfums Addictive Vibration made me think of making, and later on eating Wine Honey Cake , with Macerated Mirabelle Plums , with a glass of Muscat of Hamburg , while in an old vineyard in Italy.
There are two Initio Parfums I know now , and really like, Oud for Happiness, and Side Effect.
When I think of Oud for Happiness ,i’m thinking about Space Cake , with lots of ginger, you can get in most coffee shops in Netherlands, and now in some states in US.
The other Initio Parfums fragrance i know is Side Effect, smells similar to Vanilla Bean Bundt Cake , drizzled with Rum.
Appreciate the culinary referenced review, and the giveaway campaign

  • What a lovely read! I am most intrigued by the juxtaposition of the delicate, somewhat gentle and feminine notes that go into this fragrance being housed in such a striking and bold bottle. Between using honey in my evening chamomile tea and spritzing a honey-scented fragrance in my hair, I am no stranger to its indulgent yet pure sweetness and would be overjoyed should I win this most generous prize. This would be my first INITIO fragrance, but likely not my last!

I’m well familiar with all Initio Parfums fragrances , and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
My overall Initio Parfums rating would be:
    1. Side Effect
    2. Oud for Happiness
    3. Oud for Greatness/Addictive Vibration
I almost fully agree with Olya’s opinion of the fragrance , to me Addictive Vibration is quite loud , mostly sweet orange and apple blossom floral fragrance, with honey and wine undertones. The only thing I also get , and Olya doesn’t, is liquorice , and maybe something slightly woody in the base too.

“In this composition, you can vividly pick up on its indolic breath, making me think there is a jasmine pinch hiding beneath the fluffy apple blossoms and grape soda.”

Undeniably there’s jasmine in Addictive Vibration, thankfully at least on my skin the fragrance is not indolic at all.
I enjoy all of Olya’s reviews, one of my favorite Cafleurebon crew members ever. I actually enjoyed the most the alcohol like lecture . I’m a big time fragrance nurd, but also strict teetotaller, and in no way I can distinguish the smell or taste of Muscat .
    All profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg

I loved Olya’s review of Initio Parfums Addictive Vibration. I loved how Olya described this fragrance as having honeyed grape like vibes. She continues on about the history of honey and it’s sensual qualities being used an aphrodisiac. I also love the floral qualities of apple and orange blossom present in this fragrance along with a sweet and mood enhancing Vanilla it sounds divine. I am from the USA.

  • Great review—I really enjoyed all the interesting references to honey in antiquity and the smells of macerating late-harvest dessert wines. That combination of honey and musk is really lovely as long as the sweetness is kept in check, and I imagine orange blossom is a natural pairing. I appreciate that Addictive Vibration is restrained enough to let all the nuances of honey shine through.

  • Unfortunately my post won’t count, but yesterday we has a bad power outage , and all mobile and cable TV and internet went down for a few hours. Still I’d like to post it.
Most white wines aren’t taken through the maceration process.
The maceration process can take place in three different ways
    Cold soaking
Extended maceration takes place over a longer period of time and produces wines that are rich and supple and ready to age.
Carbonic maceration particular style of maceration results in a particular style of wine: Beaujolais style.Wines produced in this style, in mere weeks after harvest, are known for their lively flavors and bright noses.

Muscat is a broad turn , and very complicated topic.
Sauternes are awesome if it’s from the right region.

“A lustful blend of delicious wine you may indulge in after a good dinner.”

I love you Olya, but Muscats are traditionally serve as aperitifs and also pair them with rich cheeses such, lemon tarts , cheesecakes, baked apple and raisins.
Addictive Vibration do smell like Aperol Spritz to me , fruity and addictive , with a bit of jasmine too
Rehab is one of my husband’s favorite fragrances. Since i wear it too , i can say on him is really spicy, woody aromatic, exactly what he likes , but on me smells similar to Lavender French Hard Candy from L’Ami Provencal i purchase regularly for many, many years from Amazon.
Cheers with Blended Aperol Spritz , and thank you for the opportunity

Lovely review Olya! What I enjoyed about Olya’s review was how she described Addictive Vibration as a sensual honeyed grape-like fragrance reminiscent of an old vineyard in the middle of the spring. I am a huge wine aficionado and I have a special place in my heart for late harvest wines, particularly a well done Sauternes, with notes of honeyed orange blossom and jasmine and the quintessential musty earthy “noble rot” aspect. I can only imagine how lovely this would be translated into a fragrance. I am definitely excited to try it. I live in the US.
