Hez Parfums Jackson square has a unique blueberry accord

My first spritz of Hez Parfums Jackson Square is sweet and juicy with hints of tart blueberry, Hez told us:

I chose blueberry as a top note in Jackson Square because it captures the deep, rich hue of dark blue—one of the vibrant colors often seen in New Orleans art. Each note in the fragrance represents a color, with blueberry symbolizing that bold blue and bergamot offering a bright, sunny yellow. As the scent evolves and moves into the drydown, more layers unfold like brushstrokes on a canvas, revealing a full spectrum of vivid colors. My vision for Jackson Square was to capture the essence of a painting, similar to the style of art that is so commonly displayed there”. -Hez Binkowitz

Fresh forest air nuances meld with the blueberry. Spices, both black pepper and coriander, reinforce the fresh and herbaceous violet leaf note that gives an outdoor feeling to this fragrance, and gives me an early impression of something approaching a lightly boozy, forest-floor fougère. I can picture myself walking in the late night or pre-dawn revelry of the French Quarter, past the wrought iron gates of Jackson Square.

A beautiful heart of cannabis and Bulgarian rose wears on my skin for over 8 hours. Something that is key to the culture and city life of New Orleans is long walks outside, enjoying the live music and art one finds on the streets. From organized revelry in a second-line to independent performance artists on the sidewalks, there is always something to enjoy. The warmth of this fragrance on my skin is compelling. With its hints of the fresh, floral muguet to the earthy low-tones of patchouli, Hez Parfums Jackson Square is fully representing the nuance of New Orleans.

As time passes, the dry down of Hez Parfums Jackson Square remains complex and exciting. Bourbon vanilla sweetness, sandalwood coziness and white musk create a cloud of joy and festivity. According to Hez, “the fragrance was inspired by the atmosphere and energy of Jackson Square in New Orleans. It’s a place where artists, musicians, and performers gather to share their work. The scent reflects that mix of tradition and artistic expression, blending rich, earthy notes with brighter, unexpected ones to capture the spirit of a space that’s always alive with art, music and celebration.” Indeed, if you need some celebration in your life, then Hez Parfums Jackson Square and its long-lasting mood elevation is a fragrance to reach for.

Notes: blueberry, coriander, violet leaf, black pepper, cannabis, Bulgarian rose, lily of the valley, patchouli, Bourbon vanilla, sandalwood, ambergris, white musk

  • I have had the pleasure of owning a fragrance and meeting the Hez team! I purchased Banana Bread Banshee and it is the most realistic, beautiful, dense gourmand fragrance I have ever owned. The quality and presentation of this fragrance house was a pleasant experience and I am excited to get another bottle.

  • I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the Crescent City several times, and each time took several walks through Jackson Square. I’m curious how Hez’s take on Jackson Square aligns with my memories. Clearly, the cannabis note will reflect on one level. I could also envision “a cloud of joy and festivity” from the bourbon vanilla sweetness, sandalwood coziness and white musk. • Rachel’s review of Hez Parfums Jackson Square immediately sparked my interest with its unique use of blueberry to represent the bold blue of New Orleans art. As someone living in the city, which is void of this vibrant, artistic street culture, the idea of a fragrance capturing that joyful, energetic atmosphere really speaks to me. I am also intrigued by the mix of forest air, cannabis, and bourbon vanilla…sounds like walking through a late-night jazz carnival. Galveston Tx

  • Wow, this fragrance sounds so unique! I love how they’ve tied in the culture of New Orleans into the scent. Hez Parfums Jackson Square sounds like an absolute masterpiece! The idea of using blueberry as a top note to represent New Orleans’ vibrant blue hues is so clever and creative. I love how the fragrance is described like a painting, where each note has a purpose and a visual color association. That warm heart of cannabis and Bulgarian rose makes me so curious to smell how it balances with the spicier violet leaf and coriander. I’ve been searching for a scent that captures that outdoor, lively vibe and this one seems to do it perfectly. Also, the fact that it lasts for over 8 hours is a huge selling point. I can already imagine wearing this while walking through an art gallery or just hanging out in the French Quarter at sunset.

Jackson Square sounds like it could be the ultimate representation of New Orleans in a bottle, and I’m all about that! The notes are super interesting blueberry and bergamot for brightness, followed by deeper, earthy elements like cannabis, patchouli, and bourbon vanilla. It really seems like this fragrance is designed to be dynamic, constantly shifting through different phases of the day. I love the artistic concept behind it too—fragrance as art, representing the mix of traditional and modern creative energy that New Orleans is known for. And the description of the dry down with sandalwood, vanilla, and white musk sounds like it would feel so cozy and comforting. I’m really curious to see how it wears on the skin and if it truly captures that celebratory vibe.

  • Jackson Square by Hez Parfums sounds like an incredibly original and artistic take on the fougère genre. I’m fascinated by the idea of blending blueberry with herbal, spicy, and green notes like coriander, violet leaf, and clove — it feels like a bold yet elegant tribute to the spirit of New Orleans. The composition seems to balance modern freshness with a mysterious depth, and I admire Hez Binkowitz’s ability to challenge olfactory expectations while still creating something wearable.
As someone who enjoys discovering unique fragrances with a strong sense of identity, I would be truly honored to experience Jackson Square firsthand. It’s always refreshing to see an independent perfumer push boundaries with creativity and storytelling. I live in Europe, Romania.

Every day at Jackson Square is different, vibrant, and soul-satisfying. Excited to sniff how Hez has translated this feeling! Cheers from Ohio, USA! 🙂

A lovely fragrance affair. I’m located in the USA.

  • Wow. Cannabis with rose, blueberry as a top note. Sounds completely unique! I liked “lightly boozy”, too. That was my experience of Jackson Square and the images painted here with words definitely evoke sun in the French Quarter. US.

Having just explored this insightful piece on Cafleurebon about HEZ Parfums’ Jackson Square, I’m absolutely captivated! The idea of a fragrance that daringly blends the bright juiciness of blueberry with the earthy, herbaceous depth of a fougère – all envisioned by the talented Hez Binkowitz for a 2025 launch – has instantly piqued my interest. It speaks to a truly bold and innovative approach to perfumery, unafraid to marry seemingly contrasting scent worlds. I can only imagine how the reviewer beautifully articulated the delicate dance between the sweetness and the grounding, often woody, elements. I am so intrigued by the description of this fragrance. I don’t recall experiencing a fragrance with a topnote of blueberry. The addition of cannabis, rose, sandlewood etc. sounds like it adds a level of interesting complexity. The description of the scent creating joy and festivity seems perfect and something I could use more in my life. I’m in the US.

  • Nice review, Rachel! I wasn’t familiar with Hez Parfums, and I didn’t know they created scents that represent New Orleans. I think it’s a great idea because of what that city represents in my imagination. Jackson Square presents the colors of the city, and so each note in the fragrance represents a color. Tart blueberry and yellow bergamot in the opening: fresh and herbal with pepper, coriander, and violet leaf: Rachel sees a fougereish. The heart is rose amplified with cannabis. And the most important thing, which many perfumes neglect, is the drydown: a festive joy for vanilla, sandalwood, and musk. A celebratory scent! I live in Spain, EU.

  • Love this article, it really helps capture the place this fragrance is trying to create. My wife is Cajun, as is her entire family, and I’ve been wanting to try a fragrance that represents the NOLA atmosphere without it being a generic beignet clone. • Rachel’s review made Jackson Square sound like a living artwork — full of movement, color, and creative energy. I was immediately intrigued by the idea of blueberry as a top note representing the deep blue of New Orleans art, and how every note corresponds to a color, like brushstrokes building a vivid scene. I also love how the fragrance blends joyful brightness with earthy complexity — cannabis, rose, patchouli, and bourbon vanilla all sound beautifully layered. I’ve never tried Hez Parfums before, but this feels like the perfect introduction. I live in France and would love to experience the spirit of New Orleans through scent.

  • Rachel’s review of Hez Parfums Jackson Square is captivating, especially the innovative use of blueberry as a top note to evoke the vibrant blue of New Orleans’ art scene. The idea of each note representing a color, painting an olfactory picture of Jackson Square’s lively atmosphere, is brilliant. I’m intrigued by the blend of sweet, juicy blueberry with herbaceous violet leaf and spicy black pepper, creating a fresh, almost boozy fougère vibe. The heart of cannabis and Bulgarian rose, lasting over 8 hours, sounds like a bold, cultural nod to New Orleans’ street life. The festive drydown with bourbon vanilla, sandalwood, and white musk promises a joyful, long-lasting experience. As someone who loves fragrances that tell a story, this scent’s connection to New Orleans’ art and music scene is incredibly appealing. I live in Poland, EU.

What sparks my interest most from Rachel’s review is the way each note in Jackson Square represents a color, creating a fragrance that feels like a walkable painting—especially with blueberry as a bold blue top note and the transition into a forest-fresh fougère with cannabis and rose. The concept of scent as art, inspired by New Orleans’ vivid culture, makes me eager to experience the mood-elevating drydown with Bourbon vanilla and sandalwood. I love that this fragrance sounds both grounded and exuberant, just like the city it honors.

The idea of each note symbolizing a different color, creating a fragrance that unfolds like brushstrokes on a canvas, is both creative and evocative. The combination of fresh forest air nuances, spices, and herbaceous violet leaf, leading into a heart of cannabis and Bulgarian rose, paints a vivid olfactory picture of Jackson Square’s lively atmosphere. I use an aftershave regularly that’s scented with a blueberry-topped fougère and it’s terrific, so I have high expectations for Jackson Square. Hez takes the that central idea in a very different direction; it sounds like Jackson Square is a spicier fragrance, not as traditionally structured (no lavender), plus the violet and cannabis surely lend it an intriguing herbal aspect. The drydown sounds comforting. I’d love to try both this and Hez’s tea fragrance for Tempus Vitae.

The first two I own in their original presentations. Jackson Square is a new release i find quite tempting mostly for the New Orleans vibe , the blueberries, vanilla and patchouli . Rachelmade me think of the Mardi Gras celebrations , one of a city , one of a kind review, and one of a kind fragrance.

I love Rachel work and the Nola energies coming from Hez Parfums Jackson Square. It seems like it is one of those artistic gems you’ll never forget. I love the addition of boozy vanilla and blueberries the classy base of patchouli and sandalwood . The cannabis and Bulgarian rose are additional nuances Hez Binkowitz added to underline the New Orleans culture , music and art.
Rachel review almost brought me to New Orleans , sitting on the balcony of a hotel in the French Quarter with striking views, enjoying the sunset with sparkling Blueberry Margarita.
I’ll be following Hez Binkowitz now and his upcoming Hez Parfums releases
I’ll treat myself with Blueberry Margarita now , cheers , and thank you for the opportunity

Rachel provided a short but nice background to New Orleans , Hez Binkowitz and Jackson Square.
The whole article is like an ode to the full spectrum of New Orleans , a reminder to all the places, cuisine, unique American music , art and celebrations I’d like one day to experience myself.
Rachel also captured my heart and interest with her affection for art , craftsmanship , different New Orleans artisanal activities and Hez Parfums Jackson Square festive aroma.
The earthy , fruity, a bit boozy nature of Jackson Square i find attractive. The fragrance is enveloped with French Quarter veil of blueberries , violet , patchouli and vanilla , i absolutely love what Hez Binkowitz did , Jackson Square is like a poetic invitation.
Thank you for the draw EU

  • I’m really intrigued by the blueberry note and the rich story behind the creation of this fragrance. I’ve never experienced a scent with blueberry before, so I’m very curious to see how it will smell.

  • My first impression of Hez Parfums Jackson Square was a burst of sweet, juicy blueberry—vibrant and unexpected. Hez’s idea of translating color into scent really comes through: the blueberry as deep, bold blue, the bergamot as a splash of golden yellow. As it settles, the fragrance unfolds like layers of paint on a canvas, each note adding dimension. It genuinely feels like wearing a piece of New Orleans art.
