Named for the area code for greater New Orleans, Hez Parfums 504 is a tribute to the city’s vibrant culture and deep-rooted history. I asked Hez Binkowitz the fragrance creator and artisan perfumer for Hez Parfums about the fragrance which is a limited batch and is currently only available for pre-order here -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Hez Binkowitz of Hez Parfums

Each ingredient in 504 was selected for its superior quality and unique character, ensuring a fragrance that truly represents the spirit of New Orleans. This perfume is more than just a scent; it’s a celebration of a city’s soul, a sensory journey through its culture, and a lasting homage to its cherished heritage. I wanted 504, to be composed of only the finest ingredients, with many natural and rare raw materials. To capture the lively and energetic vibe of New Orleans, I used Bergamot Calabria, reflecting the spirited atmosphere of its streets. In the heart bourbon vanilla bean and natural Thai oud reveal the sophistication and cultural richness that define this remarkable city. The base notes of natural orris butter, Texas cedar and natural oakmoss anchor Hez Parfums 504 with a sense of history and depth”.Hez Binkowitz of Hez Parfums

  • Hez Parfums 504 immediately captures my attention with its deep connection to New Orleans. The idea of a fragrance that embodies the city’s unique spirit, using top-quality and rare ingredients, is truly intriguing. Hez Binkowitz’s dedication to selecting each note to represent the vibrant and soulful atmosphere of New Orleans resonates with me, especially the use of Bergamot Calabria to capture the lively streets and the blend of Bourbon Vanilla and Thai Oud to reflect its cultural richness. The base notes of orris butter, Texas cedar, and oakmoss promise a depth that seems to encapsulate the city’s rich history. Steven’s review further emphasizes the fragrance’s authenticity and complexity, making it feel like more than just a perfume, but a sensory journey through the essence of New Orleans. This limited edition release is clearly a labor of love and artistry, and I’m eager to experience the emotion and heritage it embodies.

This is a remarkable release and a true testimony to the big easy. I like it’s simplistic presentation and the name being the one and only 504. The richness of its ingredients is what intrigues me. The perfumer tried to use mostly naturals in order to recreate the New Orleans swagger in a bottle. I love orris in the mid and base but this allegedly opens spicy and woody. I don’t think this has much of a sweet character but is probably a pleasant wear nonetheless. Steven got my attention when he said it lasted ten plus hours on skin. This one thing I really love my fragrances to have legs to go the distance and make it thru the day with me. Would love to win, from Jacksonville, NC.

I’ve sed now a few fragrances from this house and everything is of the utmost quality. I love a spicy and woodsy fragrance like Steven mentioned and I’m glad it adds to the peppery-ness of the fragrance. The Oud also doesn’t make it smell barnyard-y and we appreciate that. I can see where Hez drew the inspiration from as New Orleans is known for Mardi Gras which could be a spicy endeavor in the south (woodsy touch). The distribution on the atomizer as with all of them is very generous too and it leaning masculine is the cherry on top. Cheers from the US.

  • phuongmtran says:

504 sounds like a lively and strong fragrance. I love the notes listed, a vibrant combination to reflect and celebrate New Orleans itself. I am in the USA.

  • Hez’s introduction highlights the unique and high-quality materials used in their perfumes, which is quite intriguing. Steven’s video review emphasizes the diverse range of scents offered by Hez Parfums, from coffee and summer fragrances to masculine gourmand and unique plum fragrances. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • I love New Orleans, had planned to go back, but our flight was cancelled at the beginning of Covid. Still plan to go. 504 was the house number of my first address. This is tempting, especially since it’s limited. Sounds like a good balance. I like that the oud is “safe”. I’d love to win this. USA.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I like how each note was specifically picked to represent the culture of New Orleans. I liked how Steven mentioned that the oud wasn’t too barnyard and how the cedar is a dominate note. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Michael Noel says:

Love the name. The mix of notes sounds like a captivating fragrance. Can hardly wait to try it out.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Really intrigued by the scent profile here. I’ve never been to New Orleans so I can’t speak on that but I like spicy, I like cedar, and I like the softness vanilla adds to masculine fragrances even though this is marketed unisex. Hez’s description makes the city sound like a definite place to visit. Appreciate the generosity of the giveaway. Many blessings from VA, USA!

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Love what Hez said about 504… “it’s a celebration of a city’s soul, a sensory journey through its culture, and a lasting homage to its cherished heritage”

Steven mentions how the opening is spicey & woodsy, I love that! Never smelled Thai Oud in a fragrance that I can think of so I’m super interested. I also like that Steven mentioned that it’s peppery & that it leans masculine.

I’ve sampled a few of Hez’s creations and have enjoyed them but I still want to try some others from this house including 504.

  • Oh I’ve been wanting to try this house for ages. His love for NOLA is so endearing! And I loooove a citrus floral and I looove an oakmossy Orris! And I’m super intrigued (as always) to see how the Thai Oud comes out to play!! You totally have my attention! I am in California.

  • Oops part 2 I meant to mention Steven’s review on the longevity of it deals the deal! Ok done. Thank you

  • Hez said the fragrance truly represents the spirit of New Orleans. The video talked of the spicy and cedar wood opening. The video also said 504 leans masculine. US

  • Hez Parfums first popped up on my radar with Banana Bread Banshee. First seeing the title I was just like no way lol. Got a sample and loved it. New Orleans is one of the most culturally rich cities in the US and to have a scent that embodies and puts on for the city is amazing. Hez said it himself in the introduction that he wanted 504 to be composed of only the finest ingredients, with many natural and rare raw materials. To capture the lively and energetic vibe of New Orleans and if you have ever been you know this a city of pure energy. Steven’s review mentioned that it was heavy on the cedar and that’s something I can get behind especially with the orris butter and touch of vanilla.

  • I love the video adjacent reviews! New Orleans is one of my Top 3 favorite cities in the US and is held very near and dear to my heart. I al SO intrigued by this homage, especially for how much I love cedarwood and unisex fragrances.

  • I appreciate Hez’ s commitment to using the finest quality ingredients he could obtain to pay tribute to the jewel that is New Orleans. The fact that it is limited batch makes it all the more exciting. The heart of bourbon vanilla and Thai Oud really seem to anchor the composition along with the oakmoss and cedar base. I’m interested in the longevity of the scent as per Steven’s review. MD, USA.

  • Chuck Moeller says:

I admire Hez Binkowitz’s resilience. Also the journey from hobbyist to Perfumer is impressive. I watch a lot of Steven’s reviews. Every now and then a scent comes across the screen that is made for me. That is how I feel about 504. Also, who doesn’t want New Orleans in a bottle? Having read about Mr Binkowitz’s life makes me want to support his work too.

  • I admire Hez Binkowitz for how he faces is trials and the way he became a perfumer. I watch alot of Steven’s reviews and every now and then a fragrance jumps out of the video and has to join my nascent collection. 504 is one of these. The notes feel customs mixed for me. Also, knowing a bit about Mr. Binkowitz makes me want to own the work of someone I admire.

  • Like Hez pointed out in his interview, the materials used here sound excellent, including natural vanilla, oud, orris, and oakmoss. And I like that he used them to better capture the theme. Steven smells a lot of cedarwood, which tends to be a crowd-pleasing woody note, and that 504 never tends towards overly sweet or bawdy oud. Cedar and vanilla sounds very enjoyable.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Hez’s Introduction learning about founder and artisan perfumer Hez Binkowitz and his brand Hez Parfums. 504 is inspired by capturing the very essence of New Orleans. Steven described this beautifully in his Youtube video review. Everything from the bright bergamot and citrusy bitter orange to the bourbon vanilla and the natural smoky Thai Oud. This sounds fantastic. I am from the USA.

  • What a fantastic sounding perfume. I own Banana Bread Banshee and it’s amazing.
I like Steven video that talks about cedar and he’s very enthused.
I also like Hez Binkowitz use of really good ingredients in 504 to capture the energy of New Orleans
    USA

  • I am curious to see how the spirit of New Orleans, which is the most unique American city, translates into a fragrance.

  • foreverscents says:

I love fragrances that are woodsy and heavy on the cedar wood, so I am sure I would love 504. Hez talked about using the finest ingredients in 504, and the use of Calabrian bergamot and Thai oud certainly
reflect that. Steven said that 504 might lean formal and masculine. That’s perfect for me.
    I live in the USA.

  • I like the idea of a masculine spicy woodsy scent. The vanilla and oud aspect sounds interesting

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice video Steven.

Been reading a lo about Hez from CFB. I really like the mix of Thai Oud and Cedarwood. With the citruses and the vanilla, this really sounds like a scent that can be used all year round.

I do like that this fragrance is based on the Nola area code.

    Cheers from WI, USA
