Night Flower is a leathery, animalic floral fragrance. Spellbinding, sexual and addictive.” – Antoine Lie (Perfumer)

Eris Parfums was launched in 2016 by Barbara Herman. Her years of collecting and researching vintage perfume took her on a journey: from blogging to writing Scent and Subversion (reviewed by Tama Blough R.I.P), to collaborating with master perfumer Antoine Lie to create fragrances as daring and beautiful as those she discovered in and from the past. I have sampled some Eris Parfums and chose to write about Night Flower, a perfume of desire, decadence, and danger. The reserved elegance of Eris Parfums Night Flower is reminiscent of the classic beauty found in Shalimar, yet there is also something distinctly contemporary, personal and alluring about it. It is a close-to-the-skin fragrance, beckoning people to lean in a little closer.

The initial burst of Eris Parfums Night Flower is bright and spicy, mixed with leathery earth nuances. As time passes, it develops both powerful and raw on my skin. The woody raw note emerges, adding depth and complexity. Imagine walking through a serene forest where sunlight filters through the leaves, casting warm shadows on the ground, invigorating and grounding, like a forest clearing.

The delicate white tuberose floral softly envelops me as I step into its embrace. I feel wrapped in layers of silk, each petal’s essence—a symphony of creamy, powdery, and slightly musky notes. I close my eyes and feel the summer sun’s warmth on my skin, the scent lingering like a whispered promise. In the language of flowers, tuberose whispers I am yours.

While briefly lost in the floral note, I am transported into the comfort of ancient forests where the damp soil meets sun-dappled leaves on a path of adventure, sweet, warm, comforting yet sensual and magnetic. It’s like a secret language of desire and melds with my natural scent, becoming uniquely me. At its base, it weaves a delicate web, drawing others closer. With my eyes closed, I feel the warmth of Eris Parfums Night Flower- a whispered invitation that wraps around me like a velvet cloak as I go deeper into the night.

As the notes intertwine, I imagine a femme fatale, whose silk gown trails behind her, leaving the scent of birch tar and tuberose in her wake. Night Flower is not predictable; she is intoxicatingly wild and raw. So, my dears, spritz Night Flower on your pulse points, let it bloom on your skin, let the perfume unfold- an olfactory story told in whispers, a fragrance that defies the ordinary.

Notes: Italian Bergamot, Russian Birch Tar, Guatemalan Cardamom, Suede, Indian Tuberose, Laotian Cinnamon, Indonesian Patchouli, Venezuelan Tonka Bean, Musk (Synthetic).

This appears to be a fragrance destined for my beautiful wife. The notes of cardamom, leather, tuberose, patchouli and musk are some of her favorite notes. The complexity and beauty of this creation is one I desire to smell.

  • I love when a house adds where the ingredients were sourced! Because it does make a difference. Tuberose, cinnamon, cardamon, bergamot, birth tar etc – the places they sourced these soared no expense and I just know the perfume will reflect it! It’s can’t wait to try this. Thank you so much for the opportunity. I am in California.

I adore the Eris line and I have personally been wearing Green Spell a lot this time of year. Night Flower sounds fantastic and the combination of tuberose and birch tar sounds incredible! I am so ready to put on that velvet cloak and walk into the night!
Thank you for this review Sandi!!

I would love to try Night Flower. It sounds so mysterious and intoxicating, yet comforting with the note of tuberose. I have tried Delta of Venus and really enjoyed it. I am in CA, USA.

I’m sad because I love tuberose and I can’t have this perfume because I’m from EU

The bottle looks very vintage and modern at the same time, a dichotomy not found on many fragrances nowadays. The animatic part that Sandi described scared me for a little bit reading the notes it doesn’t look like a strong fragrance. It does sit close to the skin based on the review so I’m assuming it’s more of a musky/airy fragrance with a suede background. This one sounds perfect for the season we’re in currently. Cheers from USA

I love hearing about new to me brands and this one sings to my heart. Not only the description and story of this fragrance, but the name of the house is right up my alley. I don’t have a favorite, yet! I live in Oregon.

  • A vintage perfume expert and a master perfumer. Add in the fabulous review and I wonder how I missed night flower.
I do have Mxxx. Thanks to reading reviews here.
Thank you usa and fragrance vault

I would love to try Night Flower. It sounds so mysterious and intoxicating, yet comforting with the note of tuberose. I have tried Delta of Venus and really enjoyed it. I am in PA, USA

  • Grrrrr, this sounds incredibly raw and carnal. I love sandi description of a femme fatale leaving a trail of birch tar and tuberose. I imagine the leather blends wonderfully with the tuberose to create a soft and seductive profile. Eris Perfumes are always a joy to behold and I am sure this is no exception. Currently, Mxxx. is my favorite, but this sounds like it could be a contender for that top spot. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • I have tried only Belle Du Jour by Eris so far. The complicated layers and hinted sexuality in this scent sound fascinating! I love the femme fatale image with the trailing silk. I’d like to do that for Halloween!

I love this review. I sampled Night Flower long ago and I forgot how it smells exactly, but I just remember loving it and planning to get a full bottle one day. I love tuberose and leather and their combination is always very sexy, just as the Sandi mentions. I’m from Illinois, US.

Night flowers in the forest with the damp earth sounds amazing. I have fond memories of walking at night in Hawaii with the flowers blooming and that dampness of night. My favorite from Eris is Green Spell. I love that one and just brought it out of winter “hibernation”. Thank you Fragrance Vault!! USA.

  • I have Eris Parfums discovery set and Night Flower is one of my favorites. It stood out because of the tuberose and how it’s done differently from other tuberose perfumes. The scent journey for Night Flower starts off big and in your face before it softens to something more intimate. Another favorites are Delta of Venus and Green Spell.

  • Sandi’s review definitely sparked my interest! Night Flower sounds great. I like the sound of creamy powdery musky notes enveloping you. It sounds very multifaceted and interesting as well as intimate and seductive. I’ve not yet tried anything from Eris Parfum, but have very much wanted to try them. Thanks for the generous draw, from USA.

I love Antoine’s work. I think he’s the best perfumer working now. This perfume is gorgeous and I’d love to win. I live in Indiana.

  • I was pleased to read that Sandi mentioned the resemblance to Shalimar as I briefly tested this and I also got that. For me it felt much more wearable than Shalimar as I find that one too heavy and sweet. It truly is sensual and comforting and I’d love to spend more time with this perfume. In Brooklyn, NY.

If I win this giveaway, I promise I will find a silk gown, wear it and let it trail behind me. If I can’t locate one, I will use a bath-sized towel. Tuberose that is intoxicatingly wild and raw differs from any tuberose I have smelled. This would be my first experience with Eris Parfum. I live in NY.

  • My favorite is Mx. I liked the description of Night Flower as being “wild and raw.” Also, I’m drawn to earthy fragrances. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. MI USA

Thank you for the lovely writeup Sandi.

What I appreciated about this fragrance was it’s seductive allure. I love how the tuberose in this scent melds into thegreenery and damp soil, while at the same time keepiing a delicate balance of sensuality.

I would love to get my nose on this,

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I really enjoy the pairing of sweet, feminine florals with undeniably masculine notes. Night Flower has the very feminine and sensual tuberose supported by a range of spices, patchouli and birch tar. Sandi describes it as an ancient forest and a femme fatale who is unpredictable, wild and raw. I’ve not tried any Eris Parfums yet. MD, USA.

  • Gorgeous review! My mind was conjuring these images and scents right along with you. I adore tuberose fragrances, especially with moss and leather facets. Barbara has done a great job with her brand. I’ve not tried Night Flower but it’s been on my list to sample for a while! I was not a fan of aquatic florals until I tried Eris Belle de Jour, and I was an instant convert. The brand definitely espouses that lovely vintage style with modern twists, and it makes them so very approachable. Thank you for the chance! I’m in USA.

I love the woodland description in this review, it rings true and Sandi’s descriptions evokes what a good perfume is all about. I tried buying Night Flower second hand but the seller cancelled the order after a week instead of shipping it… maybe they had second thoughts and decided they needed to keep it! In either case I still think about trying again. I have a bottle of Mx. in my collection, which is a lovely scent that’s easy to grab when I don’t know what to wear, yet still brings some personality. Mxxx. is even better to be honest, maybe someday. Would love to win Night Flower! I’m in the USA, thanks for the draw.

  • I think Sandi’s line: ‘The reserved elegance of Eris Parfums Night Flower is reminiscent of the classic beauty found in Shalimar, yet there is also something distinctly contemporary, personal and alluring about it. It is a close-to-the-skin fragrance, beckoning people to lean in a little closer.’ grabbed me most. Then her description of Night Flower as also unpredictable and raw … while also like a velvet cloak. Very much a tuberose leather I would love to try!

Thanks so much for arranging this drawing! I’ve tried Scorpio Rising and have a sample of Mxxx in the mail 🙂 I’m in the US.

  • I appreciate Sandi singing the praises of a fragrance that wears close to the skin; we don’t need more beast most fragrances that fill a room. And it sounds like Night Flower has an elegance to match it’s close halo, providing texture, earthiness, and leathery spice to a silken tuberose heart. I also like the detailed sourcing on the materials. Beautiful review.

I’m in the midwest, USA. I haven’t tried any Eris Parfum fragrances. Thanks for the giveaway.
