I’ve always had a weakness for After Eight mints. You know the ones, the dark chocolate squares hiding that cool, creamy peppermint center, the kind of treat you swear you’ll stop at “just one”… and then somehow the whole sleeve is mysteriously gone. For me, they were the Proustian madeleines of my very eastern European breakfasts, back in my late teenage years, when the usual choice meant black coffee, my Rothmans cigarettes, and at about three or four little squares of minty heaven.

After 8 chocolate, fair use

So when I heard there was a fragrance built on the idea of chocolate mint melting into a hot cup of coffee, I knew resistance was futile. The fact that the perfumer is Hez Binkowitz only sealed the deal – as his work has a mysterious way of turning guilty pleasures into something literally addictive (ahem, looking at you Bourbon Street, Plum Conficture and Banana Banshee). Add Chris Martin of Statik Olfactive to the mix as creative director, with his sharp eye (and nose) for turning his visions into scent, and suddenly I knew this wasn’t going to be just another gourmand. It felt more like a tailor-made conspiracy to target my cravings…and win. Or maybe I’m just a paranoid in reverse – like Andy Warhol once said, I suspect people (or in this case, perfumers) of plotting to make my nose happy.

Coffee, of course, is another lifelong obsession of mine. At one point I even turned it into a profession (as I have a habit of doing with most passions) and working corprorate for a coffee company, naturally, I couldn’t stop at the boring spreadsheets and board meetings. I had to taste, to learn, to understand the subtleties – the roast levels, the origins, the extraction times, the whole alchemy of it. I even earned a barista certificate – courtesy of a hardcore Italian training company – now living somewhere in my garage, between my old camera lenses, enduro bike gear, and other trophies of obsession. So you can imagine my eyes turning into hearts when I read the notes list, as Hawaiian Kona is a rare treat in the coffee world – light, delicate, and clean, with a bright, balanced profile and an aroma that whispers of caramel, butter, and cocoa – in short it’s like a tropical lullaby in a cup. And Colombian coffee is layered, lively, and endlessly interesting – as it offers incredible diversity – from rich chocolate and caramel notes to  bright citrusy acidity.

The opening is cool and refreshing, that first snap of a mint-chocolate shell. Then the fragrance warms, and suddenly I’m back behind the espresso machine: steam hissing, dark-roasted beans crackling like a jazz rhythm, the ritual and choreography of making that perfect cup. Just as it starts to feel like I’m taking both myself (and the coffee) a little too seriously, in drifts a swirl of coconut milk, vanilla, and the boozy wink of Irish cream – softening the edges, loosening the mood, and turning the indulgence into something easy, relaxed, and just decadent enough.

There is no secret that after running away from gourmands for the better part of my fragrance journey, I am now a convert, maybe even an evangelist of the genre. And yes, Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is a gourmand, but it’s one I’d recommend even to those who usually shy away from the category. No sugar-bomb gimmicks here: it’s a photorealistic piece of mint chocolate, slowly dissolving into a cup of hot, dark-roasted coffee with a complex, deep, resinous drydown.

This is Statik Olfactive storytelling at its best: refreshing at the start, cozy at the heart, resinous and sun-warmed at the end. If you like coffee, prepare to fall hard this autumnl!

Hez Binkowitz perfumer

 Hez Binkowitz, via the brand

Hez Binkowitz, perfumer, via brand website: “With Crème de Menthe Café, we wanted the notes to feel like they were telling a story — not just of a drink, but of that comforting, slightly indulgent moment it represents. I used both coffee tincture and coffee bean absolute because I love how they play off each other. One gives you that smooth, just-brewed aroma, and the other brings this dark, roasted bite. Then I layered in brown sugar, rum, and a little cocoa butter to melt right into that coffee warmth, almost like you’re stirring in a chocolate mint. The peppermint and spearmint were key, as they had to be cooling and fresh without going toothpastey, so I balanced them with creamy notes, such as milk, coconut milk, and bourbon vanilla. That’s where the ‘Irish cream’ feeling comes in – soft, sweet, a little boozy, but mellow. The base is built on amber, myrrh, and benzoin to give it that golden, cozy depth, and I used sandalwood, white musk, and Iso E Super to keep it light enough to wear every day without losing that rich alluring edge. It’s a scent that feels like a treat, but it’s still grounded— it wears like a memory you can reach for whenever you need a little warmth.”

Note from the brand- Crème de Menthe Café is 30% Extrait de Parfum concentration

Top notes: Peppermint, Chocolat À La Menthe (Mint Chocolate), Crème Mousse (Frothed Cream), Lait De Coco (Coconut Milk); Middle notes: Rum, Hawaiian Kona Coffee, Colombian Coffee, Sweet Orange, Milk, Coconut, Bourbon Vanilla, Myrrh, Chocolate Syrup; Base notes: Australian Sandalwood, Coffee Absolute, Brown Sugar, Cognac, Cocoa Butter, Benzoin Resin, Labdanum, Olibanum, Gray Ambergris, White Musk

  • The comparison to After Eight mints instantly intrigued me. I have a weakness for coffee and Irish cream too, so this scent sounds so delicious. Greetings from EU.

  • The reference to the after eight mints immediately reminded me of me eating them as a kid. And Crème de Menthe Café with its warm and cozy coffee notes, is a sweet and indulgent, creamy, milky, minty boozy scent that evokes a decadent chocolate mint dessert confection– a scent that is perfect for cooler weather.

  • Very few things better than chocolate and a well done chocolate note for the holidays is the perfect combination! Based on his review it sounds like they nailed it. -New York

  • Lydia Agosta says:

What really makes us fragrance interesting to me from the review is that there is a mint chocolate note. I have never heard of a mint chocolate fragrance before this one. I love the fact that she said that she’s not really usually a fan of gourmands, but this one was appealing and that it is not overly sweet. I don’t care for fragrances that are over the top artificially smelling sweet. Thanks for the chance!

  • Ramses Perez says:

I’m reading the note composition on this fragrance and can’t help to salivate at the richness and variety of coffee and gourmand notes. I can see how Hez says this is a gourmand but not like any other because it really tells a story. I picture myself in late autumn/winter sipping on a cup of coffee with chocolate and then you add a bit of mint to it. Maybe sort of like a girardhelli style of sweet but in perfume form. This really is an artistic take on the gourmand genre and most importantly, something we have not seen yet (no more Dubai chocolate scents please). Statik Olfactive has left me ecstatic to try this fragrance! I’m located in the US and many thanks to the brand for the generous gift.

  • The personal anecdote about After Eight mints melting into black coffee during those eastern European breakfasts really sparked my interest-it’s such a vivid, nostalgic evocation of simple indulgences that feels universally relatable. Combined with the sophisticated layering of Hawaiian Kona and Colombian coffees alongside that cooling peppermint without veering into toothpaste territory, it sounds like a cozy, story-driven gourmand that’s perfect for fall introspection. I’d love to experience that resinous, sun-warmed drydown. I live in Poland, EU

  • Kensolfactoryodyssey says:

I’m not a big fan of gourmands usually but this sounds like the perfect balance .. the spearmint , the coffee , the booze and a resinous base. Hez creates beautiful things and with chris martin partnered with him how could u go wrong !!

  • jollyjoshua14 says:

It’s almost reassuring to hear that Nicoleta enjoys how well done the coffee accord is- especially after mentioning that they have worked with coffee in the past before! Coffee + boozy Irish cream sounds like a great combination heading into the colder weather. Hez has a proven track record with his gourmand offerings, and it sounds like this is no exception.

  • I don’t consider After Eights as boozy, and they aren’t but it has always been an older person’s chocolate, until I became that ‘older’ person, which translates I became mature enough to appreciate the elegance and minty aloofness of the this desert. It is an excellent choice to combine it with coffee. I live in the EU.

  • I’ve never tried the scents and notes of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café. But I still remember when my father used to return from his trips and bring us After Eight from the airport. I would love for that memory to be awakened. Thank you! From EU.

  • Kristof Raemdonck says:

As a lifelong lover of After Eight and coffee obsessive (I guess I am not the only one), Nicoleta’s review hit me right in the cravings.
That crisp peppermint-chocolate melting into a Colombian espresso core sounds dangerously sippable. I love that Hez used both coffee tincture and absolute which promises a fresh-brewed lift and a roasty bite. All that goodness together with a little Irish cream vibe (coconut milk, vanilla and rum) to smooth the edges, nham! The promise of a resinous, grown-up drydown is exactly the kind of gourmand I love to wear: cozy and if possible not sticky.

And a 30% extrait? Yes please.

Thanks for the draw—I’m in Porto, Portugal (EU).

  • Interest sparked by the line, “No sugar-bomb gimmicks here: it’s a photorealistic piece of mint chocolate, slowly dissolving into a cup of hot, dark-roasted coffee with a complex, deep, resinous drydown”. US

  • This one sounds really amazing, coffee and after eights? i’m sold. Thanks for the perfect description Nicoleta and somehow nostalgic article, and thanks for the chance. I’m in the EU.

  • Nice review, Nicoleta! Coincidentally, the other day I was talking with a friend about After Eight and its disappearance from Spanish supermarkets some time ago. Strong memories of my childhood and youth (late 20th century), although I was never a fan. Mr. Bincowitz and Mr. Martin had a great idea, and I agree with you. What sparks my interest most is using coffee, one of my great interests and pleasures, as a co-main character. The Gourmand opening quickly gives way to the coffee beans (coffee tincture and coffee bean absolute), mint chocolate that dissolves into a black coffee: a photorealistic scent. I can’t wait to smell it now! I live in Spain, EU.

  • I also remember and liked the after eight mints. Def interested in trying Creme de Menthe Cafe. The cool minty chocolate opening and then warming up into a cafe scent sounds tasty. Love that Statik Olfactive tells a story with his fragrances

    From Ca

  • I’m a fan of coffee fragrances as well as being a fan of coffee in general and I’m curious to see how well coffee and mint can play together in fragrance. In addition to this I love resinous notes and it looks like this one is packed full of them so this sounds like another winner from SO. I’m in the USA

  • The notes of creamy mint and chocolate sound absolutely beguiling! This sounds like a Winter Wonderland dream! Howdy from USA; Houston, TX!

In my steadily growing fragrance collection there are no American indie artistic fragrances and I’m very much looking forward of trying Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café .
Even though Nicoleta Tomsa spoke of all the different gourmand aspects of the fragrance like the mint chocolate , caramel, butter and cacao , the Columbian coffee with no sugar-bomb gimmicks and Hez Binkowitz own words made the difference for me.
I love clubbing and Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is just perfect for the times i’m going to more high end parties , tranquil and cozy aroma , like a beautiful and unique song.
    EU Thank you

  • Painting_and_basketball says:

As usual there’s no basic information with Cafleurebon and Nicoleta Tomsa, her review is multidimensional as well .
I had in a way similar childhood and teen years like Nicoleta , with black coffee and After Eight mint and chocolate thins.
Yes I read the older Static Olfactive articles and Profiles in American perfumery with Hez Binkowitz and I’m impressed not only with his work in perfumery , but all the craft involved in his activities, how happy she is in New Orleans and how the fragrances he creates do represent the city in variety of ways.
I know niche fragrances and with the brutal competitiveness on the market i need something big to really grab my attention, and Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café high quality raw materials, mouthwatering gourmand connections, caramel and sandalwood aroma melding with the coffee did the trick for me.
Through Crème de Menthe Café I can book a flight to New Orleans and buying some local mint and chocolate dessert with coffee , whiteout actually being there. You can’t beat that
    Cheers EU

  • This scent profile brings up some memories for me. I love York Peppermint patties and as a broke college student student, I used to hit up the stores post Halloween and buy up certain discounted candies. The glut of chocolate found its way into many things like baked goods, but I use to save the York Peppermint patties for dissolving in a cup,of espresso grade coffee. Crème de Menthe Cafe sounds a lot more civilized and elegant with the addition of rum, vanilla and coconut. I can attest that coffee, chocolate and mint are a great combination. MD, USA

  • I decided to share my takeaway about Nicoleta Tomsa gourmand cycles first since it’s important to me

“Or maybe I’m just a paranoid in reverse – like Andy Warhol once said, I suspect people (or in this case, perfumers) of plotting to make my nose happy”
It’s interesting that I also developed my affinity for gourmands later in my fragrance journey.
I’m currently preparing for my 18th for the year craft exhibition in Frankfurt Germany , and as artisan myself, I’m a leather arts craft woman i can’t even describe how overjoyed I felt today after reading about Hez Binkowitz life cycles. Crafting always brings joy to the artist no questions asked. We share a lot of common objectives and principles, Hez Binkowitz and I .
Of course other the latest and the previous articles i also enjoyed Nicoleta Tomsa experiences with Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café , a bit dark but comforting gourmand , directly influenced by After Eight mints nature. Not just the great smelling aroma with mint , caramel and vanilla , there’s also dark chocolate and coffee and different temptations , it’s almost like Crème de Menthe Café is part of a fantasy New Orleans story.
    Much appreciated, EU

  • The magnitude of Hez Binkowitz potential is massive , It’s also remarkable that he found the work-life balance. To self-taught perfumer the solution is based on ambition , creative approach , love for perfumes and the city of New Orleans.
Like everything in real life some components of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café are gentle like the sandalwood , some delicious like the caramel, cocoa and vanilla on top of double shot espresso and a few After Eight mints. The balance between smooth and sharp , delicious and bold is what I’m looking for the most. Even Nicoleta Tomsa is as thrilled as she’s ever been thinking about cozy resinous transparency, whispers of After Eight sweetness and darker and woody roasted coffee rhythm that Hez Binkowitz created.
    From EU. Many thanks

  • photo_perfection says:

Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is trend setting fragrance with a lot of contrasts, from dark-roasted coffee beans to woody , delicious and resinous depth .
Nicoleta Tomsa and Hez Binkowitz share affection for art and craftsmanship , one of the reasons Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café worked like a charm for her .
Nicoleta work with the latest Statik Olfactive release is like invading the senses poetic invitation. Memories from her late teen years , freshly brewed coffee, delicious mint chocolate caramel vanilla and powdery cloudy haze . Crème de Menthe Café is piece of art elegant fragrance
Thank you for the draw EU

  • Hez Binkowitz life diary really paints a picture of her intricate character . What really grabbed me in his profile linked by Michelyn Camen is his extensive journey , all he went through and her state of felicity at NOLA creating fragrances for Hez Parfums and Statik Olfactive.
I’m keen on the whole Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café package and Nicoleta’s description in a way related to After 8 Mint Chocolate.
Dark coffee and mint chocolate , delicious ambery sensuality , feel of smooth happiness , and depending on Nicoleta Tomsa ecstatic experience with the fragrance I’m aware Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café
is a very special delicious fragrance with lots of depth, and unique character based on After 8 Mint Chocolate feel with NOLA nuances.
Born and bread in Upstate New York , currently based in EU
    Thanks

  • Captivating reads , no mistake I even read Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café twice in a row , no joke. Into the Wild , Scarlett Lady and American perfumers profile of Hez Binkowitz were are quite interesting.
I can’t help but to be impressed how Nicoleta Tomsa was able to finally embrace gourmands 🙂 She’s eager to acquire knowledge and to improve, to become better and better. I can easily tell Nicoleta loves her work and her hobbies – enduro, coffee and fragrance expert at the same time.
I’m exposed to niche perfumery but not yet to Statik Olfactive , and i can’t help but to be impressed how the owners of the brand gave Hez Binkowitz a platform to create a very special gourmand fragrance with mint chocolate and coffee , sandalwood and cozy depth.
Other than wanting to win the contemporary high-end Statik Olfactive fragrance called Crème de Menthe Café , I’d also love to visit Hez Binkowitz lab , sounds like fun
EU , thank you very much

  • relax_your_mind says:

The right way to start with Hez Binkowitz life story from the older interview with Michelyn Camen, and then go to the present time with Nicoleta Tomsa review of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café.
Apparently Hez Binkowitz was a bright mind at young age with interest in perfumes , art and creativity , soaking all kinds of inspirations from his home town of New Orleans. For a small indie brand owner and perfumer he likes triggering past and forging future artistic memories with all his creations . I can tell in Statik Olfactive he found kindred spirits.
Crème de Menthe Café is an elegant gourmand , where mint chocolate , caramel and dark coffee are easy to detect , on the flip side because of resinous base also possesses bolder personality. Special fragrance i’d cherish if I win.
    Million thanks EU

  • I believe it’s easy to say Nicoleta Tomsa enjoyed exploring Crème de Menthe Café from Statik Olfactive way more than usual.
The idea of adding a dark chocolate, mint to coffee, and then again to vanilla with a resinous base , only comes to show the creative part of Hez Binkowitz character.
Powerful and novelty fragrance with lots of twists , starting cold and refreshing , then comes the coffee and mint , such a beautiful creation , no wonder Nicoleta thinks Crème de Menthe Café is smooth , cozy and complex.

Reading the essay made me think of how unique of a gourmand Crème de Menthe Café must be if Nicoleta Tomsa can barely compare it to anything else.
Keeping in mind the zealous examination of the latest Statik Olfactive i know Hez Binkowitz did a splendid work. Vivid atmosphere of mint chocolate and , coconut milk, caramel , black coffee all stepping on foundation of depth and complexity, Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is elaborate fragrance i’d really like to win.
    Thank you kindly, from EU

  • I’m very picky about brands and fragrances I’m wearing, especially gourmands and Hez Binkowitz fragrances and in particular Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is on my radar after all the praises both from Cafleurebon contributors and Instagram . I’d love to try Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, Plum Conficrure and Banana Banshee . Thanks to Nicoleta i’m aware Hez Binkowitz just created another gem called Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café .
I was not expecting he’d create a dense gourmand with dark chocolate, mint , caramel and rich black coffee . Crème de Menthe a Café is a high-end contemporary gourmand, and I’m particularly interested in the cozy aura of the fragrance .
    Thanks a bunch

So that’s how a connoisseur sounds when he’s greatly impressed , Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café had such an impact on Nicoleta she almost went to a gourmand dreamland with beautiful jazz melodies playing and darker coffee and mint chocolate rhythm.
It has been a pleasure learning about the fragrance being made by by the obviously talented Hez Binkowitz .
Personally I’m glad smaller brands like Hez Parfums and Statik Olfactive are still implementing more classical , and artisanal approaches , instead of futuristic technology. I only wish both brands were easily available in EU….
I’m a fan of beautiful things, opulent aura, passionate fragrances , creativity , and I’ll be happy to win Crème de Menthe Café, the dark coffee with caramel , mint softness and creamy sandalwood.

I’m very much picky in terms of coffee and gourmand fragrances , and especially those that combine the two genres.
Nicoleta Tomsa assessment of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café brought me back to my childhood when grandma used to bake different chocolate cakes with mint , and me and grandpa were roasting and grinding the coffee beans , great times I miss a lot.
I became instantly attracted to the comforting gourmand smell of Crème de Menthe Cafév together with carefully selected by Hez Binkowitz other deeper and darker shades like the Columbian coffee , bourbon and sandalwood . I really like the dance between delicious and daring.
When I buy new niche fragrance the quality should be outstanding, and the with certain level of uniqueness , I’m definitely impressed.
Sum total i love the whole Nicoleta Tomsa read , the older interview and I’d also love to win a bottle of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café
    Thank you

  • Such a pleasing experience i just had Wow
About today’s read and the 3 older ones , all vivid and full of originality, pride and positive energy. Hez Binkowitz is not only built differently, happy with modest personality but he also likes to surround himself with people who have the same or similar values.
Today’s read is so delicious, like a mental getaway to the best patisserie in Paris , mint chocolate cake with caramel , cocoa butter on top and a strong ristretto . What a journey i had with the help of Nicoleta and a cup of good coffee.
I bet Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café would surprise me greatly , soulful fragrance i believe , I’m hooked

  • Hello Cafleurebon
Nicoleta Tomsa has always been respectful and modest , looking to ignite the interest of fragrance enthusiasts on Cafleurebon with exquisite articles.
I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen her so soulfully involved, and exited for a gourmand , that’s a statement on its own ! If she believes the coffee lovers should be prepared to fall hard for Statik Olfactive “Crème Menthe Café” the fragrance should be outstanding. I believe the mint chocolate , the resinous drydown and the premium Columbian coffee are making “Crème Café” so addictive and unapologetic , i can’t even imagine how good it really is , dopamine rush i can already feel.
Hez Binkowitz did set the bar quite high for all soon to be released colder weather gourmands.
I’m based in EU , thanks

  • This seems to be the perfect fragrance for the early fall.
The cozy atmosphere given by the roasted coffee and chocolate hugs and warms you in the rainy days, while the fresh and minty part accompany you during the last sunny ones.
I really appreciate the use of coffe bean absolute and tincture, an hard and expensive work that returns back the most realistic coffee aroma, this for me is a proof of the quality of the perfume and of the passion of the perfumer.
I hope to have the chance to try it.
    Greetings from Italy!

  • I find impressive how Nicoleta Tomsa, , the fragrance journalist was able to merge elegant fragrance like Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café with extra information about Bourbon Street, Plum Conficrure and Banana Banshee. I’m glad I read the recommended reviews and the interview with perfumer Hez Binkowitz, his character and everything he went through all is pointing out to his noble and full of energy way of doing things.
I’m hardly ever super impressed by a coffee fragrance alone , but a scent of glamorous caramel vanilla with a hand made mint chocolate treat spin image of Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café grabbed my attention right away. • While not as familiar with the After Eight brand, this does sound exactly like melting an Andes mint chocolate into a cup of dark rich coffee. Immediately conjuring memories of trying to finagle an extra few while exiting the restaurant du jour with my parents as a child. And remembering the powerful aroma of black coffee my grandmother always seemed to have nearby, even in the heat of summer. It’s warm, comforting and at the same time has this refreshing air from the mint. Hez doesn’t seem to miss with his creations, and this seems to be another must-have! Cheers from Ohio, USA! 🙂

  • What caught my attention is Nicoleta mentioning that she would recommend Creme de Menthe Cafe even to those who typically shy away from gourmands. I put myself in that category. I do love the After Eight mints as a flavor! And her description of the resinous drydown and absence of “sugar bomb” makes me want to try this! I am in MA USA.

  • This is a winter special! A gourmet smell, got to try this, The only other coffee perfume i have smelled is Intoxicated by Killian.

Hints of after dinner mints and coffee? Sign me up, please. My preference is Andes candies but After 8s are nice too. I’m definitely a coffee lover…smell, taste, everything. This interesting concoction makes think of LIDGE in a combo with Boss the Scent Private Accord. Definitely hope to get this fragrance in my collection. Thanks Cafleurbon and Statik Olfactive for the giveaway opportunity. Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • The idea of mint chocolate melting into dark roasted coffee instantly grabbed me. I love how the review described the peppermint mixing with coffee and creamy notes, with a little Irish cream vibe on top. It sounds cozy, smooth, and not overly sweet, which is exactly the kind of fragrance I’d actually wear. I’m in Miami Florida

  • well, reading this piece made me feel like i was truly stepping into the world hez binkowitz created with creme de menthe cafe. the way the fragrance was described- from that first mint chocolate crackle to the cozy resinous finish- felt so alive. almost cinematic. it reminded me of why i love when a perfumer doesn’t just compose notes, but, actually tells a story through fragrance. so, for someone who once avoided gourmands, this article made me feel seen. like this is a fragrance that could convert even the largest of skeptics, because it’s more than indulgence… it’s warmth, comfort, memory, & ritual bottled up into such elegance. the article made me feel like i was tasting the fragrance with every detailed word. it is such a vivid, sensory journey- it speaks behind the talent & craftsmanship of the perfume. i really love is how it shows creme de menthe cafe isn’t just another fragrance or gourmand- it’s layered, thoughtful, & deeply evocative. the way it transitions from fresh, to cozy, to resinous sun-warmed depth feels like such true story telling through scent. it made me appreciate the perfumer’s artistry even more because it takes REAL vision to capture indulgence w/o excess & comfort w/o cliche. reading this gave me such admiration for both the perfume, the perfumer, & also the author. i also want to add that i was recently introduced to hez’s fragrances & browsing through all of these gorgeous sounding fragrances & bases- i am so excited to be able to delve into his world. there isn’t one of his creation’s that do not sound absolutely lovely, in every sense of the word. & when that marshmallow restocks- not only will i be first in line for that, but, now i will be doubling both lines between it & creme de menthe cafe. :). brilliant article! this was so thoughtfully written & as i said, almost cinematic, where i was watching this author’s memories- or, flashes of having my own. & in those moments, i felt solace. thank you for the beautiful article- thank you for this thoughtful giveaway- & thank you for creating such a magical fragrance for everyone to enjoy.

  • I absolutely love Nicoleta Tomsa article, as well as the linked reviews of Into the Wild and Scarlett Lady and American perfumers profile of Hez Binkowitz , and how he’s grateful for the supportive fragrance community allowing him to turn his dream into reality. Once again all the information made me wonder, and think for a while

So you can imagine my eyes turning into hearts when I read the notes list, as Hawaiian Kona is a rare treat in the coffee world – light, delicate, and clean, with a bright, balanced profile and an aroma that whispers of caramel, butter, and cocoa – in short it’s like a tropical lullaby in a cup
    – Nicoleta Tomsa

Since I enjoyed everything I read I’m not sure where should even start with. Should I start with Nicoleta Tomsa affection for art and beauty , her passion for creative fragrances , or the unique contrast between the black Colombian coffee haze , mint chocolate , or maybe the importance of the vanilla and sandalwood? All are equally as important for the forming of Crème de Menthe Café identity .
Thanks to Nicoleta know the new Statik Olfactive fragrance is just great , showing up the true elegance of American indie perfumery .

    Cheers

  • What else to ask? Made by Hez Binkowitz exotic gourmand cocktail with sandalwood , mint chocolate and caramel clashing in a velvety powdery cloud, a brilliant idea to counter the dark and smoky coffee.
I like the classical style of the bottle , the golden top and I’m excited for Statik Olfactive and Hez Binkowitz in general.
I absolutely love the specific mint chocolate quality of Crème de Menthe Café , and i find interesting the whole dark yet cozy delicious atmosphere. Immersive multi-sensorial experience i believe.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a novelty fragrance like Crème de Menthe Café , and also thanks to Nicoleta Tomsa for the review.

Nicoleta Tomsa is a contributors with specific taste for perfumes , and I do enjoy reading her articles .
The brand of Statik Olfactive i don’t know yet , the talanted Hez Binkowitz I read about here on Cafleurebon, it was a fragrance called Jackson Square.
Quite often i think of how Olya Bar once said perfumes can trigger past memories and forge future ones, Crème de Menthe Café instantly triggered Nicoleta’s good times coffee memories, both as a coffee lover and working corporate for a coffee company. She loves the cool and refreshing opening, the warmth of the best Columbian coffee, the coconut milk and Irish cream, the mint chocolate and she’ll keep forging a lot of new ones with Crème de Menthe Café compex and sweet aroma.
Mint chocolate , Irish cream and coffee are favorites of mine, let alone how Nicoleta said Crème de Menthe Café has a gourmand character without sugar-bomb gimmicks , exquisite pleasure I’d love to win.
Thank you very much Statik Olfactive and Hez Binkowitz , and special thanks to Nicoleta Tomsa for the hard work

  • Thanks to Nicoleta Tomsa review i started thinking about vacation to a small island, getting up early in the morning , still windy and rather cold watching the horizon, and breathing the breathing the fresh air from the ocean. Then a double espresso follows with a bit of Irish cream and a few blocks of Swiss mint chocolate
I’m now curious about Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café and the way it evolves. The contrast between the cool start , coffee and mint chocolate , milk and boozy wink , day and night, the profound sense of resinous and sun-warmed base Nicoleta spoke of is to die for.
I love Hez Binkowitz idea of focusing on the notes like they were telling a story
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

  • Just when you think you know gourmand and coffee fragrances Nicoleta Tomsa comes along to show how wrong you are !!!
Fascinating article! Nicoleta convinced me that I need to find Statik Olfactive sample set staring with Crème de Menthe Café.
Thank you for explaining the Hawaiian Kona to us since I’ve never heard about it before, and your own etiquette when it comes to coffee and coffee affairs.
It’s excellent to hear that the mint chocolate and Colombian coffee in Crème de Menthe Café are wrapped in such a passionate aura with milk and Irish cream. It’s safe to say Hez Binkowitz is one one of those people who still posses imagination, and are not afraid to be adventurous.

There’s a saying that good ideas start with brainstorming, but great ideas start with coffee
I have a feeling for all those years Hez Binkowitz had hundreds of such brainstorming moments, and thousands cups of coffee in between , I wonder how came up with the idea of mixing Columbian coffee, Irish cream, mint chocolate and sandalwood?!?
My takeaway about Nicoleta Tomsa article is the overall sense of coffee heritage and novelty approach blended together to perfection. It appeals to me that Hez Binkowitz infused into Crème de Menthe Café his own love for coffee, mint and chocolate.
As a result of his work I’d like to know how the luxury not overly sweet black coffee with mint chocolate treat called Crème de Menthe Café smells. In light of Nicoleta Tomsa review I have no doubt the fragrance is stunning.
    Many thanks , EU

  • Hey there
Is it just me or fragrances on Cafleurebon are always exquisite ? Unfortunately smaller American niche and indie houses are really hard to find in EU so I’m thankful for the chance.
Stark contrasts , originality and a little bit of everything of what I like I’d describe in short Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café . The unique merging of alluring dark chocolate with mint and vanilla, Irish cream, and big cup of black coffee are the most appealing sides of the fragrance . I’m expecting a delicious and sophisticated haze that came as a result of Hez Binkowitz work.
I had a terrific time reading Nicoleta Tomsa article

  • No, I’m not a gourmand lover when it comes to fragrances. Still, this one intrigues me a lot! I love most of the ingredients in the edible world, and I live me a fine mint scent (best: Menthe Froide). I’m a bit hesitant because of the coconut, but I stay curious. So I’d love to win this to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • GoodBookAndTea says:

Coming from someone who’s just recently started delving into niche perfumery thanks to Cafleurebon i have to say the style of reviews here is on a different level
Hez Binkowitz and Nicoleta Tomsa were able to trick my imagination into thinking of strong black coffee and luxury handmade mint chocolate where the sweetness and boldness are perfectly dosed and compounded to alluring caramel and vanilla.

“Just as it starts to feel like I’m taking both myself (and the coffee) a little too seriously, in drifts a swirl of coconut milk, vanilla, and the boozy wink of Irish cream – softening the edges, loosening the mood, and turning the indulgence into something easy, relaxed, and just decadent enough.”

By all means YES to what Nicoleta Tomsa stated about Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café , eye-opening and zealous review and one spectacular fragrance.
Warm thanks to Hez Binkowitz, Nicoleta Tomsa ,Cafleurebon and Statik Olfactive

  • Mutual.Respect says:

Thanks for the wonderful write-up ! I really liked reading about all the different experiences Nicoleta Tomsa had with Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café , including her passion for coffee.
“It’s a scent that feels like a treat, but it’s still grounded— it wears like a memory you can reach for whenever you need a little warmth.”
    That’s high level brainstorming.
I love high-quality coffee and coffee fragrances , eating mint chocolate and coconut milk , and Crème de Menthe Café
I find delicious, vibrant and mysterious. Smelling all of this will get me in party mood every time a get a sniff … I imagine. Then on top of that hints of Irish cream ?
A diverse life is a vibrant life and i can tell there’s quite a lot of diversity in Crème de Menthe Café not to mention the overall smoothness.

  • Nicoleta Tomsa article i find captivating for its vivid imagery , arousing and mouthwatering descriptions of different kinds . In his own way she intertwined Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café delicious Columbian coffee, Irish cream and mint chocolate journey with craftsmanship , and I enjoyed the fact she’s not only expert in perfumery , but in coffee as well . Nicoleta convinced me that the warm gourmand facets in Crème de Menthe Café , and the opulent and decadent coffee aspects are fused together in a truly immersive velvety experience.

I feel like Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is so sophisticated, perfectly suited fragrance for formal occasions but because of the dark and sweet tempting trail also for clubbing, maybe even dates. I have a feeling Hez Binkowitz had a plan to make a complex dark and a bit daring gourmand fragrance , and result could be seen through every aspect of the Nicoleta Tomsa review.
Not sorely because I feel attracted to the big black coffee, and sandalwood and mint chocolate I actually enjoy the whole thing, the resins and the boozy wink .

Crème de Menthe Café from Statik Olfactive sounds great, I’m fascinated by the love affair between the delicious but not sugary sweet mint chocolate , Bourbon vanilla and coconut milk from one angle, and the more daring and dark Columbian coffee on another. Nicoleta Tomsa pointed out that the fragrance smells quite realistic leading to a brilliant gourmand cloud , there’s a theory that opposites attract and Hez Binkowitz work is the evidence.
The intricate layering of palatable and edgy , maybe even playful notes , plus the beautiful melody with jazz rhythm narrative do make Crème de Menthe Café enchanting and multifaceted.
    Thanks a lot EU

  • Remarkably enjoyable article , bravo to Nicoleta Tomsa
So Irish cream and caramel in addition to Hawaiian Kona and Colombian dark coffee …. Then throw in that quality Belgium chocolate and I just know this is heavenly. I need Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café like now lol. Little while back i used to work a corporate job for a coffee company myself , Nicoleta sharing such detail made me smile.
Because of the way Colombian coffee side is giving Crème de Menthe Café rich chocolate and caramel,  even citrusy richness I feel tempted now .

Great review! I love the way Nicoleta compared this beautiful fragrance to Hawaiian Kona, Columbian coffee , mint softness and chocolate , caramel and resinous drydown, a true juxtaposition of classic and modern. I really love a good coffee note and this sounds so interesting, mixing current and past. The notes also sound wonderful!
I decided to read the American perfumer’s profile of Hez Binkowitz, as well as Into the Wild and Scarlett Lady reviews , and I enjoyed greatly all especially Hez Binkowitz life stages , love for creativity and the almost nurturing art environment of New Orleans Flair where he feels comfortable.

Passion for coffee and sophisticated fragrances is mutual , moreover I find Crème de Menthe Café super attractive.
I’ve always been favorable to coffee , sandalwood and caramel , although never experienced mint chocolate as a note , but here It gives the fragrance a beautiful spin , nice work .

  • Nicoleta’s review grabbed my attention when she described the opening as a snap of mint chocolate shell melting into hot coffee. I like how she showed both sides of the fragrance, the refreshing coolness at the start and then the warmth of Colombian coffee, coconut milk and Irish cream settling in. It sounds realistic and comforting, but not like a sugar bomb.

I also enjoyed her explanation of Hawaiian Kona, since I’ve never tried it myself but now I can imagine the caramel and cocoa-like aroma she talked about. That detail made the whole perfume story come alive. Creme de Menthe Cafe sounds like a gourmand with character I’d actually love to wear.

That’s really intriguing as I have become more attracted to refined coffee fragrance as I’ve progressed in my fragrance journey. I’m amazed
The balance between luscious , sweet and comforting elements in is masterful. I feel that Crème de Menthe Café is a scent designed to leave a lasting impression , definitely worked correspondingly for Nicoleta

  • Chocolate, mint, or coffee accords on their own in a fragrance can be overwhelmingly sweet, but I’m really intrigued about a combination of all three that smells realistic and avoids the sugar rush. Nicoleta’s description of “bright citrusy acidity” caught my attention. Hez’s comments about the composition are interesting too—using mint “without going toothpastey” is a delicate task. I’m looking forward to trying the Statik Olfactive lineup.

Nicoleta Tomsa appreciation for creativity, coffee and Hez Binkowitz talent is apparent from his article , and that doesn’t come as a surprise.
Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café is rooted in classic perfumery but taking on a modern twist and appearing so impressive .
I find the fragrance darkly emotional with a dramatic coffee and mint chocolate effect, but also kind of melancholic – truly sounds like the fragrance I’d like to win. I love the idea of two different types of coffee used Hawaiian Kona and Colombian , mint chocolate, rum and vanilla. Thank you from the EU

Nicoleta’s framing of Hez Binkowitz made Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café as “..a photorealistic piece of mint chocolate, slowly dissolving into a cup of hot, dark-roasted coffee” i imagine is rooted in specific hedonistic and decadent memories she had with the help of the fragrance.
All beautifully aligns with the emotional spectrum of Crème de Menthe Café ,  and mint chocolate, Irish cream and strong black coffee scent profile.EU

I like the way Nicoleta Tomsa shared the way she perceives perceive Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café focusing on the stories behind the fragrance , how the aroma amells and makes her feel, who the perfumer is. Sharing Hez Binkowitz thoughts of the fragrance and a couple of extra links was helpful since I’m not familiar with him and Statik Olfactive as well.
The scent profile made me think of a wedding that I organized of a major coffee brand CEO where the couple took their love for coffee to the next level by turning their wedding into a coffee lover’s paradise! They wanted their formal event to still feel laidback and cozy so they made sure that the vibe of the entire celebration was like a coffee shop. Bags and buckets of coffee beans were placed on every table, along with matching pastries. And instead of plain table numbers, this couple used the names of coffee drinks as labels. The best part is that the delicious scent of coffee was wafting through the air. To top it all off, free flowing coffee was served during dinner! I simply admire this couple’s creativity and how they turned their wedding into a one-of-a-kind experience.
Crème de Menthe Café is the happy medium between premium quality of both chocolate and coffee with a pinch of Irish cream and caramel , that’s the  image currently stuck in my mind . I’d love to discover the latest Statik Olfactive fragrance glowing in an array of two tones of coffee and dark chocolate.

It truly transported me to a cozy Parisian café where everything is made by hand .  Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Cafésounds absolutely wonderful and luxurious— that mix of After Eight mints, dark coffee and Irish cream is just raw comfort in a bottle. I’ve always been a fan of independent indie perfumery  since they often think outside of the box,  and it seems like Crème de Menthe Café carries that same emotional core so lyrical and complex. I can’t wait to try it, especially in those days when I’d like to have coffee and chocolate cloud surrounding me.

  • Considering how knowledgeable Nicoleta Tomsa is , I’m surprised by her enthusiasm for Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café , as thrilled as she’s ever been to say the least. There are so many good coffee and chocolate fragrances on the market right now, but creating not just good but also unique fragrance featuring the two is something major.I’d like to share my favorite part of the thoughtful intro
“The openingis freshand refreshing, that first snap of a mint chocolate shell Then the fragrancewarms, andsuddenly I’m back behind the espresso machine.”
Love, love and love again. I like Hez Binkowitz innovative approach and with Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café he found the balance between wearability and originality.
Like everything in real life some components of Crème de Menthe Café are gentle like the sandalwood , some delicious like the caramel , mint chocolate , others like the coffee and Irish cream i find venturous. The balance between the sweetness , the coffee and the resinous drydown I’m looking for the most.

Such a lovely way to celebrate Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café , Into the Wild and Scarlett Lady as well as Hez Binkowitz own Bourbon Street, Plum Conficrure and Banana Banshee.
I found Nicoleta Tomsa introduction to Crème de Menthe Cafév intriguing, highlighting the originality of the composition and how realistic it is. The scent profile is blend of appreciation for organic coffee , mint chocolate goodies , candied dates and a cup of milk, everything smoothen up to perfection by Hez Binkowitz in a relaxing and not sugar-bomb gimmicky way.
Hez Binkowitz and Statik Olfactive seems to have a lot of variety in what they offer , Crème de Menthe Caféis a nice way to start exploring.

I enjoy greatly Nicoleta Tomsa objectivity , dedication , tenderness for art in perfumery , and the approach towards every single Cafleurebon article she worked on . I wish I was there with her when she sprayed Statik Olfactive Crème de Menthe Café on skin for the first time , just to see her facial expression
Everything in the new fragrance from Hez Binkowitz is on its own place, the Hawaiian Kona and Colombian dark coffee , the gentle powdery haze , After Eight mints and of course the caramel.
I’m ready for exquisite mint chocolate degustation with a cup of espresso , I’m ready for Crème de Menthe Café
    Thanks a million

What I just read was not just a refined and detailed read , but some unique stories with guilty coffee and After 8 pleasures, refined craftsmanship , but Hez Binkowitz coffee gourmand ambitions and dreams turned into reality , and I’m loving it.
What I enjoyed overall are the two tones of the “Hez Binkowitz 2025 plus minty coffee giveaway” , the older reads with his life and career retrospective and reviews , and Nicoleta Tomsa introduction to Crème de Menthe Café , all grabbed my attention right away .
I love good and sophisticated strong gourmands like the latest Statik Olfactive , finest quality chocolate and coffee , just like I love happy , dedicated and not overly pretentious people like Hez Binkowitz , the whole experience of all the articles is like a medley of creativity . I enjoyed the way the perfumer made one unbelievable aroma in a unique , yet so cozy and daring at the same time way

  • All fragrances can tell a story, some are passionate, some are sad and other do have a happy ending . I think in Crème de Menthe Cafév by the house of Statik Olfactive there’s not sad parts , and everything is leading to good and delicious memories , smiles and a tad boozy wink . Nicoleta Tomsa even said the aroma is like a photorealistic piece of mint, slowly dissolving into a cup of hot, dark-roasted coffee.
I have a keen interest in Crème de Menthe Café because of Nicoleta and Hez Binkowitz personalities , and how delicious the fragrance is . I find the blend unique, mouthwatering and sexy. The mint and Irish cream are more than welcomed too
    Thank you kindly EU

  • The Statik Olfactive presentation i really like , I know it’s about the juice and not the bottle , but the very first image of Crème de Menthe Café immediately caught my eye.
This deep After Eight, Colombian coffee and Irish cream no sugar-bomb gimmicks take on gourmand brushed wwith resinous finesse sounds wonderful . Comforting and seductive? Absolutely I’d love to try this and get a chance to check out the the aroma and the bottle in person.
If you like coffee, prepare to fall hard this autumnl! … So nice

  • Thanks for the tempting write-up! The way Nicoleta describes Crème de Menthe Café made me taste After Eight mints melting into a bold cup of dark coffee — that mint-chocolate snap opening, warmed with notes of coconut milk, Irish cream, and vanilla, then grounded in resinous woods & amber. I appreciate that it’s indulgent without going overboard; there’s elegance in its restraint that resonates. I’d love to try Crème de Menthe Café!
