Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait (Marie Salamagne) 2024 + A Bridge to Abstraction Draw

“A dialogue between black and white, light and shadow, I wanted to interpret this idea of contrast using olfactorily antagonistic ingredients.” – Marie Salamagne

There is something inherently luxurious about the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, but when it is intertwined with the warm, spicy notes of cardamom, it becomes an extraordinary sensory experience. This combination is a fragrant bridge that connects cultures, history, and trading routes, blending the ancient and the contemporary in one aromatic cup, or in our case one composition, Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda.

The latest release is part of the newest Abstraction Collection which invites you to explore the frontiers, invoke the imagination, and cultivate a multiple elsewhere, balanced between the obvious and the abstract. Kawa Karda is bound to turn heads and noses of coffee lovers. The coffee accord in Kawa Karda Extrait alone is incredibly complex in its aroma: I pick up on soft facets of roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao, hints of caramelized sugar, and a whisper of dark molasses. Its bitterness is softened by rich, earthy undertones, while the steam carries an invigorating, almost heady scent. When cardamom is added to the mix, it transforms this familiar warmth into something both exotic and deeply comforting. The tiny green pods of cardamom bring forth a sweet, citrusy spiciness with a hint of pine and a delicate floral twist. Together, they create a sensory experience that’s robust and complex, yet balanced and refined.

The fragrance of coffee with cardamom is one of rich nostalgia for many people, whether you grew up with it or encountered it upon your travels; it’s the scent of bustling marketplaces and family gatherings. It’s the perfume of early morning rituals and quiet moments of reflection. The cardamom infuses a bright, spicy top note into the dark, roasted base of coffee, cutting through the bitterness with a subtle zing, leaving a trail of warmth that lingers like a sweet afterthought.

Best Cardamom Perfumes

Cardamom has long been called the “Queen of Spices,” and it’s easy to see why. Native to the lush, tropical forests of southern India, it was a prized commodity on ancient trading routes, moving through Persia, the Middle East, and North Africa before reaching the European palates. It is one of the oldest known spices, its use documented in ancient Sanskrit texts as early as the 4th century BC.

In the context of coffee, cardamom found its way into the brew through the rich traditions of the Arabian Peninsula. The spice-laden coffee of the Middle East, known as qahwa, is a testament to the legacy of the Silk Road, where traders brought spices from distant lands, blending cultures as they went. Today, the tradition lives on, from the coffee houses of Istanbul to the spice bazaars of Marrakech and into olfactory works such as the one by Atelier Des Ors. This simple addition of cardamom to coffee tells a story of migration, trade, and a shared human love for flavor.

The first spritz of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda brings a wave of warm, roasted coffee, punctuated by the bright, citrusy burst of cardamom. The bitterness of the coffee is softened by the sweet, floral spice, creating a velvety mouthfeel that dances between dark chocolate and a hint of eucalyptus. The finish is long and lingering, with a subtle, cooling note that leaves the palate refreshed. Rich in natural and exceptional raw materials, this extrait is crafted at 40%, with a concentration of ingredients seemingly amplified.

So, the next time you take a sip of this spiced brew, and apply a generous layer of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda, let the warmth of the coffee fragrance and the brightness of the cardamom transport you. Close your eyes and breathe in the aroma—it’s the scent of history, a moment of luxury, and a timeless connection between cultures, all wrapped up in a spritz or a sip.

Atelier Des Ors Kawa Karda was kindly gifted by Atelier des Ors but opinions are always my own.

  • Olya’s review emphasizes the correlation between Cardamom and coffee and how the pairing can be quite sumptuous; bridging the rich culture of the near east, ancient silk road travels and its spice heritage all cumulate in Kawa Karda. For her, this is a coffee note that is complex; you can sense the interplay of roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao ,caramelized sugar and dark molasses. The bitter coffee element softened and earthy. Paired with Cardamon it is elevated: a sweet citrusness with some pine to it. Creating a scent that for her is robust, complex, while still being refined. Wearing this extrait, will transport the wearer to a different time and place.

  • Ramses Perez says:

The bottle design on this is spot on to what the fragrance is transmitting to the wearer. Pitch black bottle for an equally similar dark and deep fragrance, Kawa Karda is a coffee lover’s dreams turned into scent form. The marriage between the coffee and cardamom note in perfumery has worked wonderfully for many years and the added concentration of the oils make this fragrance an enhanced olfactory experience. Ateliers Des Ora decided not to publish the notes but the smell of coffee and cardamom is undeniable on this composition. Left up to the interpretation of the person wearing it, Kawa Karda is a new route to travel on. I’m located in the USA.

  • As a coffee lover I’d surely love this perfume. The sweet and floral cardamom mixed with e the bitterness of the coffee makes this perfume aa combination of dark and light, warmth and freshness.

  • Atelier des Ors is such a high quality brand and the bottles are amazing.
KAWA KARDA appeals to me because I do love coffee and cardamom in a perfume. From the article, that Jean-Phillipe Clearmont grew up in Brittany. I love my ancestor’s ground where stories of druids, Breton goblins and foggy weather suggest the existence of another world filled with mystery and fantasy.

  • Olya’s review of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait transported me instantly into a warm, sensory dream. The way she described the interplay of coffee and cardamom made me feel as though I could almost smell the roasted hazelnuts and smoky cacao, cut through with the zing of bright, floral cardamom. It’s incredible how she connects fragrance to cultural traditions, history, and even personal nostalgia—she captured the heart of the Arabian qahwa experience while highlighting its modern, luxurious twist in Kawa Karda.

If I were lucky enough to win, Kawa Karda would be my choice without hesitation. It’s not just a perfume; it’s a journey. The way Olya brought it to life—with its rich, spiced warmth and its story of trading routes and human connection—makes it feel like wearing a piece of olfactory art.

Jean-Phillipe Clermont’s philosophy on crafting fragrances as art also resonates deeply. His ability to blend heritage with modern elegance, combined with Marie Salamagne’s “olfactory painting,” is inspiring. Atelier des Ors truly embodies craftsmanship and storytelling, and Kawa Karda sounds like the perfect expression of that vision.

  • Olya’s review of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda beautifully captures the abstract artistry behind this fragrance. Her description of the interplay between warm spices and the cool, fresh opening transported me into the imaginative world this scent evokes. I particularly loved how she emphasized the emotional depth and contrast of the composition—it feels like more than just a fragrance, but a sensory journey. If I were to win, I’d choose this masterpiece without hesitation. I live in Romania, Europe, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to experience such a unique creation. Thank you for this generous draw!

  • Svetlanafrance says:

I was deeply moved by how Olya so beautifully captured the complexity and sensory richness of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda. She weaves a vivid narrative, bringing together the essence of coffee and cardamom, creating a story steeped in history and culture. The way she contrasts the roasted, smoky warmth of coffee with the bright, citrusy freshness of cardamom highlights a perfect harmony between the deep and the vibrant.

Her mention of coffee’s nostalgic power, intertwined with ancient trade routes and age-old traditions, truly resonated with me. Coffee has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, always accompanied by cardamom since I was 22. I have fond memories of sitting with my university friend, Olga, in Kyiv, blending our coffee beans together and sharing cozy moments.

If I were to win, Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda would be my choice, as it perfectly blends luxury and comfort—just like those cherished memories of my university days in peaceful, beautiful Ukraine, where the aroma of coffee not only fills our homes but also lingers in the streets, unmistakable among the others.

  • PerfumesforLife says:

I am a fan of the cardamom coffee and so this is something I would enjoy. Olya was detailed in her analysis and gave a very good view of the scent. That version of coffee is my favorite as I am not a fan of the other types. Cardamom “queen of spices” is also one of the notes that I love in abundance in perfume. I am happy this one combines both. Would love to try.

  • Wow 40% concentration! That’s amazing. Does Atelier des Ors usually use such high concentration? I love my bottle of Lune Feline. I love cardamon in my coffee, I first had it with Lebanese friends and it’s gorgeous. I can’t wait to try this. It sounds perfect for the cool weather. I am in the US.

  • Olya has a knack for painting a sensory picture with her words, making it easy to imagine the fragrance even if you haven’t smelled it yourself and I really enjoy this personally. I would love to win Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • I love the smell of coffee although I don’t like drinking coffee. Most coffee scents are too gourmand and end up being sickening. I feel like Kawa karda is very different. I like this excerpt: “Kawa Karda is bound to turn heads and noses of coffee lovers. The coffee accord in Kawa Karda Extrait alone is incredibly complex in its aroma” because that’s what I expect from a good coffee scent. My favorite scents from this house are Lune féline, Rouge Saray, Iris fauve and Musc immortel. I live in France, EU.

  • I have been hearing very positive reviews about Kawa Karda. Olya’s review makes me even more enticed to try it soon. The way she describes the coffee as soft facets of roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao, hints of caramelized sugar, and a whisper of dark molasses ,sounds delightful. Her comment of familiar warmth into something both exotic and deeply comforting, sounds like the perfect fragrance.
    USA

  • Now this sounds really lovely. I love Atelier Des Ors, and place them highly in my hierarchy of nice houses. Cuir Sacre, Rouge Saray, and the oh-so-sexy Lune Feline are all exceptional in both quality and presentation. I imagine Kawa Kards to be no exception, and I’m very intrigued to see how they approach a coffee-forward scent. Olya mentioned a hint of eucalyptus, which instantly made my hair stand on end as I was reminded of the near-medicinal touches found in Lune Feline Extrait and Cuir Sacre. There’s just something about those not-quite-menthol qualities that play so well with dark notes. I imagine this to be truly spectacular. I can see myself wearing it while looking at (hopefully) snowy lawn on Christmas morning. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Well I certainly agree with Olya’s assessment of cardamom coffee! I used to make it about once a month when I actually had time in the mornings and inhaling the steam might’ve been my favourite part. The richness really does depend on the bean though, and I usually preferred steeping it in a press over a pour over or machine. Patricia de Nicolai did a fair but fruity representation in last year’s Caravanserail Intense, although that one had a decent amount of chocolatey patchouli in the mid and drydown. Kawa Karda sounds like a slightly more crisp and sheer representation with that hint of eucalyptus Olya mentions in the opening. However, the progression of the coffee accord does seem similar in that transition into the chocolatey nuances. I’m curious how Marie was able to bolster the longevity, since the use of nose-tweaking woody ambers would seem reasonable for the blend. They tend to hide well behind spices after all. Huge fan of the black bottle and I really enjoyed Olya’s foray into the historical context of the beverage.

PS – If anyone is interested in making their own cardamom coffee, don’t overdo it on the pods the first time (like I did) – one or two in the grinder will do. You can soften the caffeine jolt by adding the same amount of cacao pods in with the coffee beans as well. I find that the extra bitterness rounds out the zing from the cardamom. After brewing and pouring, add a pump of caramel and voila. Magic. 😉 Hang on were we talking about perfume? LOL I can imagine how wonderful the two would go together. Bottoms up. From Canada.

  • Well, the review makes me want to run out and get a cup of silty, deep tarry black Greek coffee with cardamom in it, for sure. Or possibly an adulterated Cafe Sua Da…This sounds like a delicious scent, especially with the warmth and density during these cold dark months. I live in the US.

I really enjoyed how the review emphasizes the sensory complexity of the perfume, particularly the interplay between the coffee and cardamom. The use of vivid, detailed language creates an immersive experience, allowing the reader to almost smell the fragrance through the words. The mention of the coffee’s nuanced elements, like roasted hazelnuts and dark molasses, paints a rich, tactile picture that feels both luxurious and grounded.

I also liked how the review ties the fragrance to history, describing its connection to ancient trade routes and cultural traditions—it adds a deeper layer of meaning to the scent. The way the review highlights the balance between the familiar (coffee) and the exotic (cardamom) captures the essence of what makes this fragrance stand out. Cardamom is one of my favorite notes ever, and there a nice sense of warmth and nostalgia woven throughout here.

  • What a fascinating article highlighting how coffee found its way through history and its many facets were enhance by cardamom and other spices. I love coffee almost as much as I love perfumes and I would be delighted to explore this new creation from Atelier des Ors and how they translated the multitude of nuances of coffee in their new extraits.

This totally paints the picture so much so that I can almost smell it & taste it. This one for sure I would love to get my nose on and add it to my collection.

One of my favorite fragrances in my rather small collection is again made by Atelier des Ors and Marie Salamagne, it’s Rouge Sarây.
In my view the new Kawa Karda Extrait is a different, done to perfection mixture of risk-taking and pleasing coffee fragrance, rich and smoky with fresh and spicy cardamom . It stands out with the total package of pleasing aroma , comforting appeal, connections to ancient trading routes and the best coffee and spice markets in the world, and beautiful presentation with gold flakes swirling in the bottle.

    Jean Phillipe Clermont:
I first met Marie Salamagne, the perfumer for the range through a friend. On our first meeting we talked about art, craft and perfume and it was clear that she was the right choice to create the perfumes for Atelier Des Ors. She talks about creating perfumes like paintings.

In my view dedication is something anyone could learn, but with affinity for craftsmanship it has to come from within, there is no other way around. That’s also how it worked with Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne

  • When I was 17 my life changed as my parents moved to the French West Indies and it was quite a shock for me, however I think it was also good too, as I realised I could be a global citizen in the world. I graduated from an International Business school and travelled for some time to explore the world. I was drawn to Asia and the Middle East. – from Jean-Phillipe Clermont article
All fragrances can tell a story, some are passionate, some are sad and other do have a happy ending. We all could agree Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne synergy was beneficial for both, and lead to a happy ending. It’s excellent to know how step by step they are climbing up the ladder of their mutual dreams . Jean-Phillipe had a vision from a young age, goals, plans he achieves one by one , strive for perfection all leading to his success.
I have a keen interest in Kawa Karda Extrait because of Jean-Phillipe cosmopolitan personality , Olya Bar vivid review and how delicious the scent is . I find the blend of freshly brewed coffee , cardamom, cacao and slightly earthy aroma mouthwatering.
    Thank you kindly EU

  • Olya´s review works – it makes me cook myself a pot of coffee and add cardamom the way I tasted from my friends from Iraq. I would also wear a velvety/velour dress festive dress and dive into a book about Silk Road or a myriad of historical intertwinings around Arabia or Turkey even. Plus, the packaging of this fragrance is spot on, sleek, yet traditional. I live in the EU.

  • Abstraction Collection Kawa Karda Extrait evokes a peculiar tranquil atmosphere, way more serene in comparison to all other fragrances from the different Atelier des Ors lines. I feel like the new Marie Salamagne creation is almost made for the times I’m in need to reduce the levels of stress in my body .
Olya review made me think of a trip to Istanbul , and me enjoying my time in a traditional Turkish coffee shop, drinking Turkish coffee with cardamom , and reading a book from Paulo Coelho
I read the Jean-Philippe Clermont article, and my takeaway , with a quote is:
“I also lived in Singapore and Beirut where I really fell in love with the culture in the Middle East, the literature, music, poetry, food and the lifestyle.”
Such an amazing experience, and path he had , enjoying not just creating exclusive fragrances but the traveling, the food , and basically all aspects of life to the fullest .
Out of the fragrances i was able to try Iris Fauve, Rose Omeyyade , Lune Feline and Rouge Saray stood up to me the most . Iris Fauve is thr one I decided to buy , it’s a magnificent iris fragrance I love , and thanks to Olya and Atelier Der Ors I’m thrilled for the chance of winning Kawa Karda Extrait

There’s no basic information on Cafleurebon, I just can’t get enough of it … it’s all so multidimensional and talking to brand owners and perfumers is highly valued.
I so wish I had a childhood like Jean-Phillipe Clermont , and such grandparents to teach me about art and crafts.

I spent many hours with my grandparents listening to all of the stories behind the creations, the manufacturing process, design and also the history of these pieces of art. I believe this time spent with my grandparents encouraged and inspired me to think about the importance of craftsmanship behind the objects.

The quote above is from 2016 Jean-Phillipe Clermont article.
I know niche fragrances and with the fearsome competitiveness on the market i need something to really grab my attention, and the high quality raw materials, craftspeople involved in the making process and the small gold leafs in Atelier des Ors bottles did the trick for me.
Through Kawa Karda Extrait I can book a flight to Istanbul and Marrakesh , drink a strong cardamom infused Turkish coffee with Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne whiteout actually being there. Floral spice and hints of dark chocolate and eucalyptus? You can’t beat that
    Cheers EU

  • What differentiates Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne from a lot of other niche brands is that they are focusing on the whole package, and not just on one or two aspects. Recently i’ve seen super luxurious painted real oak boxes , fancy looking bottles with mediocre , low quality ingredients fragrances , or great fragrances with high-end ingredients but with cheap bottles and boxes. For Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie that’s unacceptable, they deliver only the best of the best from A to Z , the gold flakes in the bottles is something I’ve never seen before , kudos for the idea.

Through the limited editions I am very happy to be able to showcase the amazing work of our talented gold gilders

Yes Jean-Phillipe Clermont , your whole team is amazing !
Kawa Karda Extrait caught my eye immediately , almost started drooling because of Olya Bar top quality Turkish coffee with cardamom from Morocco, soft facets of roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao and dark molasses analog.I have high hopes for Kawa KardaExtrait , kudos to Marie Salamagne and Jean Phillipe Clermont for the idea.

  • Listed notes don’t always help me that much so that’s not a concern. If there is coffee in it that has me interested. Haven’t had a smell of any coffee fragrance in quite some time.

  • I’ve heard of cardamom coffee but never tasted it. My curiosity led me to a spice market, where I found cardamom pods. They’re aromatic and citrus like. I liked that Olya described Kawa Karda as a “connection between cultures.” Thanks for another amazing review and draw. Mich USA

  • Being Atelier des Ors fanboy from the very beginning, with currently 9 bottles in my collection I have smelled all of their fragrances, excluding the just released aged in oak barrels Extrait editions , limited to Jovoy boutiques only.
If I have to rate my favorite Atelier des Ors fragrances:
    1. Rose Omeyyade Extrait
    2. Lune Feline Extrait / Cocoa Kimiya Extrait
    3. Bois Sikar / Rouge Saray / Kawa Karda Extrait
My opinion of Kawa Karda Extrait is almost the same as Olya’s, the fragrance is so rich and enigmatic with freshly brewed coffee with cardamom . I am a coffee snob , and I’m genuinely impressed by the coffee and cardamom notes in Kawa Karda, definitely not a modern sugary sweet Starbucks kind of smell , more like a small family owned traditional coffee shop in Turkey. Like Olya I also detect some dark chocolate in the background, woody and a just a bit earthy nuances in the drydown. The floral spice Olya is getting is most likely saffron, I also get suede leather in the background.
Jean-Philippe Clermont had such a good life growing up, loving family, moving around all over the world, all he dreamed about he was able to achieve and with Marie Salamagne by his side the future of Atelier des Ors is bright.
“My grandmother made pear jam from their harvest at their countryside house”.

  • I decided to share my takeaway about Atelier des Ors, Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne first since it’s important to me

“I wanted to bring the search for perfection to everything we do at Atelier Des Ors. The craftspeople involved in the making of the perfume, the boxes and the bottles are very important as they bring techniques they have learned over time and seek to improve them generation after generation. We have also chosen to work with great raw materials at every stage and we try to find the right balance for the perfect solution. Through the limited editions I am very happy to be able to showcase the amazing work of our talented gold gilders. I have always been in touch with craftsmen for bespoke projects I had in my cigar activity”

I’m currently preparing for my second for the year craft exhibition in Paris, and as artisan myself, I’m a leather arts craft woman i can’t even describe how overjoyed I felt today after reading about Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne teamwork . Crafting always brings joy to the artist no questions asked. We share a lot of common objectives and principles, Jean-Phillipe Clermont , Marie Salamagne and I , I’m glad how everything summed up nicely for them .
Kawa Karda Extrait is a comforting fragrance directly influenced by both French perfumery and its roots in Grasse, and also by spice markets and vintage Turkish coffee shops. It’s not just the great smelling aroma with the freshly brewed coffee and cardamom, there’s also earthly, dark chocolate and hints of eucalyptus, a moment of luxury like Olya Bar said herself

  • Sounds like a deep, dark coffee fragrance. While there are no notes listed, I love the ones you detected – chocolate, cardamon, citrus and eucalyptus. It sounds intense, especially since it’s made with a 40% concentration. I’d love to get my hands on this. It’s something I’d share with my boyfriend, as it sounds like it could easily be worn by both sexes.

Jean-Phillipe Clermont is such a mondain surely with its own inimitable style. His affection for art , craftsmanship and business emerged when he spent time with his grandparents and their fine table glass retail business.
Even back in 2016 he was a confident optimist, he knew that Atelier Des Ors fragrances have to be different and not be influenced by other successful brands. I like how he involved not only Marie Salamagne but gold gilders and other craftspeople to his dream, so they can create together pieces of art.
Kawa Karda Extrait is almost elegant fragrance with adventurous spirit , where French perfumery from Grasse meets Istanbul and Marrakesh in one invading the senses coffee invitation. The fragrance sound fantastic, more than delicious, not in a gourmand way but more like a walking through a spice markets of Marrakesh and smelling the coffee aroma coming from the coffee shop on the corner. I believe Kawa Karda Extrait is like a basket with hand made dark chocolate , lots of fun , adventures and positive emotions …. and of course a cup of good coffee.
Thank you for the draw EU

  • When I first saw the color scheme of Kawa Karda Extrait before reading the article I thought the fragrance is a continuation of the original Black collection. I was wrong and thanks to Olya I’m aware about the new Abstraction Collection.
Kawa Karda Extrait is a tribute to elegance, art , freshly brewed Middle Eastern coffee and cardamom, the “Queen of Spices”. The contrast between the coffee , cardamom, smoky cacao and floral spice i find delicate and classy.
Kawa Karda Extrait i find both tranquil and professional, the joyous bubble of dark black Turkish coffee with cardamom is something that i need in my life , special fragrance no doubt.
To me Atelier Des Ors equals class , beauty and creativity , and my best takeaway from Jean-Phillipe Clermont’s article proves that
“I developed Atelier Des Ors to bring my passion for art, refined craftsmanship and beauty together. My dream is to create perfumes that fuse together these elements to give the wearer something they will be proud to wear, will take pleasure in and find some inspiration at any given moment.”
Refined person , beauty , harmony, there’s a reason Atelier des Ors fragrances are so well suited for my lifestyle.
Lune Feline I’m happy to own. If i have to describe it with one word it will be phenomenal, gourmand notes are present, but still restrained, spices , tea , it smells sooo good

“With Atelier Des Ors the aim is to bring some mystery and aspiration to Haute Parfumerie along with poetic elegance.
We pay special attention to every detail and work on each perfume as if it was a piece of art.”

Love, love and love again. It’s remarkable that Jean-Phillipe Clermont found the work-life balance relying on artistry and elegance , in addition to always thinking outside of the box.
It’s worth nothing that in early stages of both carriers Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne saw the magnitude of each other’s potential and worked together ever since.
Like everything in real life some components of Kawa Karda Extrait are gentle like the spicy-fresh cardamom, some delicious like the dark coffee and hints of molasses , others more enigmatic like the freshly brewed Turkish coffee.
The balance Olya Bar told us about, between smooth and sharp coffee, cardamom, floral spice, eucalyptus and dark chocolate I’m looking for the most.

Vanilla and rose my two Queens , I was not aware cardamom is called “Queen of Spices” .
I love good and strong coffee just like I love finest quality fragrances. What i enjoyed overall is the tone of “A Bridge to Abstraction” read , Olya Bar grabbed my attention right away. In Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait i enjoyed the way Marie Salamagne made one unbelievable aroma similar to a medley of the best spice bazaars in Marrakesh and coffee houses in Istanbul.
Thanks for the recommended article with Jean-Phillipe Clermont, he and Marie Salamagne teamwork is remarkable, back in 2016 they were full of confidence and creative ideas and eight years later they continue to amaze even the most picky fragrance lovers. Other than vintage watches and fragrances I also collect handcrafted leather cigar cases and wood humidors. I had no idea Jean-Phillipe Clermont has also a history in the premium segment of the cigar industry.

  • My takeaway about the brand and Jean-Phillipe Clermont with a quote from the article
“The quest for beauty and a refined aesthetic are key for Atelier Des Ors and we do not like to compromise. The gold that we incorporate in our bottles symbolises the pursuit of perfection and the search for the absolute in ancient times.”
Unquestionably dedication is a must for the 21st century dire competition, and expectations are beyond high for everyone , in particular for niche fragrance brands.I believe a lot of fragrance brand owners main goal is push fragrances fast , but Jean-Phillipe actually feels the need to create and design the best fragrances possible , everything needs to be perfect. Marie Salamagne accepts nothing nearly right or good enough , the reason Jean-Phillipe decided to work with them long time ago, and they are still going strong.
Judging by the detailed introduction about the history of cardamom, the new Abstraction Collection, Turkish coffee houses and Moroccan spice bazaars on one part , and Olya Bar honest opinion all makes me believe one leave of absence delicious coffee fragrances is already on the market .
Kawa Karda Extrait other than a great coffee fragrance also have a marvelous looking bottle too . Altogether who doesn’t want to dip a block on dark chocolate in a Turkish coffee with cardamom , i sure do 🙂
    Thank you

  • I’m captivated by what I just read , French classicism is meeting Middle Eastern mysticism with the help of Kawa Karda Extrait, freshly brewed coffee, floral spice, hint of eucalyptus and of course cardamom, the “Queen of Spices”. Exquisite coffee based fragrance and I also read Jean-Phillipe Clermont professional and personal autobiography , job well done
I can’t help but to be impressed how Jean-Phillipe Clermont was able to achieve so much , without carrying much about the competition , my main takeaway. It’s appears that Moe is drama-free happy person focused on desire to improve , and to give Atelier des Ors customers the best fragrances possible.
I find Kawa Karda Extrait delightful for the fresh almost citrusy cardamom , smoky cacao, hazelnut and the star of the show ,the Turkish coffee , fragrance with leisurely grace i believe.
Other than wanting to win Kawa Karda Extrait just a bit more , like Michelyn Camen and Olya Bar I’d also love to meet Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne myself , it would be so much fun

  • I believe it’s easy to say Jean-Phillipe Clermont is working his dream job , which is so rare. His grandparents foster his leadership and learning about craftsmanship, and showed him if you want to be successful in this world and at the same time be happy , you have to follow your passion first not a paycheck. The idea of adding gold flakes in the bottle only comes to show the creative part of Jean-Phillipe Clermont character.
I knew Atelier des Ors before I read the two articles , and I enjoyed learning about Marie Salamagne , Kawa Karda Extrait and the newest Abstraction Collection.
Powerful and novelty coffee fragrance with big dose of cardamom, rich in natural and exceptional raw materials, some caramelized sugar, cocoa and dark chocolate Wow No wonder Olya Bar thinks Kawa Karda Extrait is a scent of history, and a timeless connection between cultures.

  • Atelier des Ors I discovered thanks to the second Part of Cafleurebon and Olya Bar co-curated vanilla fragrances . Lune Feline i had no other option but to buy thanks to you guys , and based on what I read about Kawa Karda Extrait I’m intrigued once again. It’s made again by Marie Salamagne , comforting coffee fragrance with rich undertones of cardamom , molasses, dark chocolate and even some eucalyptus . I’m convinced that Marie Salamagne and Jean Phillipe Clermont created a fragrance with lots of depth, and unique character .
40% concentration, rich and natural raw materials? Like Olya Bar suggested i closed my eyes and tried to imagine Kawa Karda Extrait, I’m expecting a masterpiece.
I read the whole Jean-Phillipe Clermont article, and what I learned about him , Marie Salamagne and their long term healthy relationship i can summarize in a quote by Curtis L. Jenkins, famous motivational speaker.
“If you want to build a better business, you must build better relationships. Relationships are crucial to developing the business you hope to achieve.”
Thank for the draw and both articles, the one by Olya Bar and the one by Jean-Phillipe Clermont.

  • Great to know Jean-Phillipe Clermont colorful personality only makes him stronger, and helps him move forward.

“We have also chosen to work with great raw materials at every stage and we try to find the right balance for the perfect solution.”

“With Atelier Des Ors the aim is to bring some mystery and aspiration to Haute Parfumerie along with poetic elegance.”

Smelling both good and unique is a must , at least for me , Jean-Phillipe Clermont like me believes fragrance is deeply personal , and what others are centered around doesn’t matter.
I’m a big fan of Marie Salamagne Bois Sikar and Pink Champagne , both i own and winning Kawa Karda Extrait would be a dream come true. Olya instantly transported me to Kapali Carsi in Istanbul, strong freshly brewed coffee with cardamom of highest quality, natural dark chocolate . What can I say … a timeless moment of luxury and relaxation.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • Coffee is one of my favorite gourmand notes. It inherently has so many facets; chocolate, carmelized sugar, nutty, etc., there’s a real complexity when it’s used as a starting point in perfume. The smell of spiced coffee is intoxicating and Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait utilizes cardamom to give the composition a bright citrus burst. MD, USA

  • Profound respect for people like Jean-Phillipe Clermont, who have high standards and goals , yet do not forget where he came from
《 We pay special attention to every detail and work on each perfume as if it was a piece of art. Perfume in itself can also be considered as a “métiers d’art”. This is very important. I like to say that Atelier Des Ors is grounded in the French classicsm but we are reinterpreting our heritage with a modern twist.》
Reading Jean-Phillipe Clermont article , learning how he started , why exactly he decided to use only top of the line ingredients , paying attention to every detail made me think perfumery is an art first for him first , and not just a business . He and the very talented Marie Salamagne engineered a lot of magnificent fragrances , Atelier Der Ors own Iris Fauve for example one of my favorite fragrances.
Keeping in mind the zealous examination of Kawa Karda Extrait by Olya Bar i know they did some splendid work once again. Not only the fragrance is made in an unorthodox way , it’s elaborate and coffee based , with spicy and even fresh cardamom, dark chocolate, eucalyptus and burned sugar-smooth fragrance I really like to win. Silk Road, Arabian Peninsula, Marrakesh and Istanbul all mixed and made into a fragrance by Marie Salamagne, Kawa Karda Extrait

    Howdies people
I’m found of how you decided to combine two different reflections on Atelier des Ors , Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne , one from 2016 and one from late 2024 in a singular experience for the readers , magnificent idea.
The right way to start is with the past , and then go to the present time.
Apparently Jean-Phillipe Clermont was a bright mind at young age with interest in art and creativity , soaking all kinds of knowledge by his parents and grandparents. It’s clear that they taught him well , and he developed passion for craftsmanship and beauty together.
By his words alone I can tell in Marie Salamagne he found not just a great perfumer , but a soul mate.
“Marie and I are going to explore the link between painting, music and perfume and the use of gold in art. I can’t wait to bring it alive!”
Returning from 2016 to late 2024 the approach and goals of Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne are still the same ,triggering past and forging memories.
Kawa Karda Extrait is enigmatic coffee and cardamom fragrance with bolder personality , yet when Olya Bar suggested we should close our eyes i actually closed mine , and i felt so untroubled . Olya and her review to evoke some past comforting memories and emotions from the 3 times I visited Istanbul in the past

  • Atelier des Ors is a brand I really like Rose Omeyyade , Lune Feline and Rouge Saray are all fantastic, and the idea of winning Kawa Karda Extrait is thrilling .
My takeaway of Atelier des Ors is based mostly on the quote
“moved to the French West Indies and it was quite a shock for me, however I think it was also good too, as I realised I could be a global citizen in the world. I graduated from an International Business school and travelled for some time to explore the world. I was drawn to Asia and the Middle East. I also lived in Singapore and Beirut where I really fell in love with the culture in the Middle East, the literature, music, poetry, food and the lifestyle.”
Living abroad for a long time always changes your perspective, Jean-Phillipe Clermont can view the world from a few different angles , like he said it himself , French classicism with different reinterpretations.
All the pieces are there in Kawa Karda Extrait , Olya grabbed my attention right away with the spice bazaars of Marrakesh, coffee houses of Istanbul references , rich black roasted coffee , cardamom and soft sweetness of the cocoa in the background. 40% concentration is a big plus
Rose Omeyyade is my favorite Atelier des Ors , beautiful fragrance i bought because of Despina Veneti Cafleurebon review, I still hope she’ll come back as a contributor at some point
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

  • I love how the things worked out for Jean-Phillipe Clermont , knowledgeable and dedicated guy who founded Atelier des Ors. Through a lot of hard work and dedication he was able to expand and develop so much that in 2024 the brand is highly respected in the fragrance community.

I wanted to bring the search for perfection to everything we do at Atelier Des Ors. The craftspeople involved in the making of the perfume, the boxes and the bottles are very important as they bring techniques they have learned over time and seek to improve them generation after generation. We have also chosen to work with great raw materials at every stage and we try to find the right balance for the perfect solution.
    From Jean-Phillipe Clermont essay

I really like how Jean-Phillipe reaches high, for the fragrance stars and definitely dreams big knowing his goals. Settling down is not an option for him, he follows his passion, not afraid to work hard and sacrifice. Such mindset is not allowing anyone to limit your dreams.
I own Lune Feline dark woody vanilla, Kawa Karda Extrait is not as sweet but just as special, and part on a new Abstraction collection .
Very much a comforting fragrance I believe, and it matches my style greatly, the freshly brewed Turkish coffee, the cardamom and the goodness of the two together ,the rich and dark cacao and like Olya Bar stated Kawa Karda Extrait is blending the ancient and the contemporary is one aromatic cup of coffee.
    Thanks a bunch

It’s not just about high-end fragrances but in general really like when owners approach businesses not like a salesman , but more like connoisseurs thinking about future buyers, and how to please them with the best product possible.
It has been a pleasure learning about every step Jean-Phillipe Clermont made , from spending time with grandparents who inspired him to think about the importance of craftsmanship, to his love for Middle Eastern cuisine, gold and Paris.

    Howdies from Germany
I’m very much picky in terms of the coffee that I’m drinking and my coffee fragrances since my love affair with “the real deal” goes back in time, I well remember roasting green coffee beans at home with my grandparents. Olya Bar assessment of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait brought me back to my childhood when grandma used to bake different pastries a couple of times per week , and me and grandpa were roasting and grinding the coffee beans , great times I miss a lot.
I became instantly attracted to the comforting smell of Kawa Karda Extrait, together with carefully selected by Marie Salamagne and Jean Phillipe Clermont other deeper and darker shades like the bright spicy top of the cardamom, the sweet floral aspect and the dance between dark chocolate and eucalyptus.
From the recommended Jean-Phillipe Clermont article:

I developed Atelier Des Ors to bring my passion for art, refined craftsmanship and beauty together. My dream is to create perfumes that fuse together these elements to give the wearer something they will be proud to wear, will take pleasure in and find some inspiration at any given moment. When I first started Atelier Des Ors I didn’t really look too hard at what others were doing. I had a vision of what I wanted to create and I felt that there was a place for my dream.

Well said and done, when I buy new niche fragrance the quality should be outstanding, and the i certain level of uniqueness.
Sum total love the two reads , and I’d love to win a bottle of Kawa Karda Extrait . Thank you

  • Salutations
It could be my impressions only but I believe most people associate Atelier des Ors with Rouge Sarây , super sexy , smoky and addictive fruity-woody vanilla fragrance.
It was a pleasure reading about Kawa Karda Extrait and I’ve learned a lot of Jean-Phillipe Clermont passionate character.
What grabbed me the most today , in no particular order a) Jean-Phillipe Clermont ambition to grow b) the fact that he’s not looking for what other brands are doing c) his inventiveness d) his desire to create variety of different sophisticated fragrances , from bubbly and delicious, to darker and sexy e) how mysterious and enigmatic Kawa Karda Extrait is f) how the time spent with he’s grandparents inspired him to think about the importance of craftsmanship behind objects g) the new Collection and all upcoming new “Abstraction” fragrances
Kawa Karda Extrait fits me well, I like to drink my coffee black with organic cardamom in it , occasionally dipping small block of dark chocolate in it. Sensory experience with references to the Middle East and particularly Marrakesh and Istanbul.
What I’d say for certain is that Atelier Des Ors Rouge Saray is a sublime , and I’m expecting the same quality from Kawa Karda Extrait.
    It’s been a pleasure

  • Another giveaway, two new pleasing experiences , once again Cafleurebon delivers
Both Olya Bar review and Jean-Phillipe Clermont autobiographical type of read are so vivid and full of positive energy .
Remembering his first steps in France countryside, his journey is Lebanon , Dubai and currently enjoying his permanent pit stop in Grasse , what a journey.
I think Jean-Phillipe Clermont genuinely looking to craft soul rewarding experiences not only for him, but for the buyers too.
It seems like Marie Salamagne shares the same or similar values with him because of the long term partnership between them.
The reason I’d like to win Kawa Karda Extrait other than the rich and natural raw materials, 40% concentration and my love for coffee is that I already own one Atelier des Ors and Marie Salamagne fragrance with a completely different vibe it’s called Pink Champagne.
I bet Kawa Karda Extrait would surprise me greatly because of the Turkish/Arabic coffee with cardamom, eucalyptus, caramelized sugar and cocoa , such a soulful fragrance , I’m hooked

Whiteout a doubt Atelier des Ors is a brand every single fragrance lover needs to know , it’s a must because of exquisite and alluring creations made from the best of the best ingredients , long lasting , and on top of that made by talanted perfumer like Marie Salamagne
I’m genuinely stunned by Jean-Phillipe Clermont, not only by his motivation, sophisticated character, need to learn and travel , and how much he loves food.
Being a Certified Master Bench Jeweler i can’t help but to admire the beautiful bottles and what he said in his essay

Through the limited editions I am very happy to be able to showcase the amazing work of our talented gold gilders.

Gilding is a decorative technique for applying very thin coating of gold/gold leafs to solid surfaces, metal , porcelain, wood and glass. Unlike more modern techniques like chemical gilding and electroplating, gold gilding by hand is almost a lost art , and true craftsmanship , I’m SUPER impressed !!!
I’m still not aware of the new Abstraction Collection releases, next time while in Paris I’ll go straight to Jovoy and try them out.
Between Morocco and Turkey, dark chocolate and cardamom dipped into black freshly brewed coffee and Ms Bar exceptional review I’d say Kawa Karda Extrait is a punchy and adventurous fragrance of highest quality.

  • I love coffee with cardamom, and coffee fragrances series and from Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait I’m anticipating spectacular fragrance, something I’ve never experienced before.
Olya Bar review I enjoyed very much , from the comforting facets of the freshly brewed coffee with cardamom, to the exceptional rich ingredients and 40% concentration, to the floral spice and eucalyptus, and last but not least the bridge between lands and cultures. Marie Salamagne made the Kawa Karda Extrait so addictive and rich.
“I first started Atelier Des Ors I didn’t really look too hard at what others were doing. I had a vision of what I wanted to create and I felt that there was a place for my dream.”
I’m very much found of all Jean-Phillipe Clermont said in the old article, and particularly his and Marie Salamagne ambitions to succeed in the competitive fragrance industry by not looking for what other niche companies are doing. We need both quality and originality and Atelier Der Ors symbolizes exactly that .
Thanks to Olya Bar, Jean-Phillipe Clermont and best of luck to all participants

  • I really enjoyed this article from Olya – particularly the summary – “Close your eyes and breathe in the aroma—it’s the scent of history, a moment of luxury, and a timeless connection between cultures, all wrapped up in a spritz or a sip.” What a delicious sounding fragrance! My mouth is watering. I’d love to try this fragrance.. as both a fragrance and coffee enthusiast, it combines both of these passions of mine. Cardamom is such a beautiful note in fragrance, I’m confident I would really enjoy this piece, especially in the winter. I used to love travelling but my health doesn’t currently allow me to, so a transportive scent like this really appeals to me.

I also enjoyed the attached article with a bit more about Creative Director, Jean-Phillipe Clermont. It was fascinating to see the passion behind the brand.. how he is from a creative family and how that influenced him so much. I love how he said it encompasses his passion for art, refined craftsmanship and beauty together and how he wants to give the wearer something they will be proud to wear. I for sure would be.

I’ve always got excited by this brand.. the presentation is immaculate and very special. There’s a number of bottles in the brand that appeal to me but Kawa Karda has to be currently at the top. I have nothing else like it. Thank you Ca Fleure Bon for putting on such an exciting giveaway! What an exciting opportunity! Bella, Based in the UK

  • Abstraction Collection is calling me 🙂

“In the context of coffee, cardamom found its way into the brew through the rich traditions of the Arabian Peninsula. The spice-laden coffee of the Middle East, known as qahwa, is a testament to the legacy of the Silk Road, where traders brought spices from distant lands, blending cultures as they went. Today, the tradition lives on, from the coffee houses of Istanbul to the spice bazaars of Marrakech”

Not sure why some spell it “qahwa” and others “kahwa” , technically the word coffee comes from the Turkish kahve, whichbon it’s own is a derivative of qahwa. For the record what exactly is Qahwa is highly debatable even amongst the best culinary and batista schools since it’s made in a different way in different countries in the Middle East. What’s the difference between Arabic and Turkish coffee is also a topic of discussion, traditionally it should be made in cezve with depending on the country with added cardamom and/or cloves, salep , mastic and ambergris. In Turkey in the traditional coffee houses it’s served with Turkish Delight, in the Middle East often with dates. There are a lot more technicalities, but Cafleurebon is not a culinary blog after all 😉
Olya Bar take on Kawa Karda Extrait made me think of going to Istanbul and just hanging around in the old town, buying souvenirs and drinking Turkish coffee and eating Turkish Delight. Spectacular and opulent coffee fragrance i need to explore ASAP.

“There are some early memories of specific smells from this time that I can recall. My grandmother made pear jam from their harvest at their countryside house. The pear trees were organic and very old. The “Gateau Petit Duc”, home made caramel and “œufs au lait” deserts were always cooking and the smell filled her home each time I visited her for holidays.”

My takeaway about the brand we had to post , I’m certain Jean-Philippe Clermont is my kind of guy for how much he loves and appreciates food , and how dedicated he is. If you’re curious, and not familiar with culinary terminology
☆ “Gateau Petit Duc” is moist and delicate gluten-free cake Calisson Cake , made with calisson paste , it’s made of almonds, sugar, candied cantaloupe and orange
☆ “œufs au lait” is similar to Crème Brûlée.
I highly appreciate Olya Bar review , Jean-Phillipe Clermont read , all the culinary references , and the giveaway campaign

Taking into consideration my impressions of the awesome Jean-Phillipe Clermont article , i’m convinced he’s not just an adventurer but also a passionate dreamer , and to a great extent a gentleman.
I drink coffee every single day, I need to try adding cardamom in it since I’ve never tried Turkish coffee before. It’s vital to me that the fragrance is made by Marie Salamagne because she is also the perfumer who created Rose Omeyyade, out of this world rose fragrance. The “Queen of Spices” roasted hazelnuts, whisper of dark molasses and balancing freshly brewed coffee aroma so well , Kawa Karda Extrait is so smooth. Hello Cafleurebon
Jean-Phillipe Clermont is moving all the pieces with ease on the chessboard , just like a Grandmaster (GM) . In a game he would be the king, Marie Salamagne the queen. In his game without a time control he had all the time prior to develop all his skills, starting with his French Countryside childhood in Brittany, moving to the French West Indies , Lebanon, Dubai and then back to Paris France.
I like how he was not really bothered by what others were doing, but was able to ignite the interest of fragrance enthusiasts worldwide by his own style and methods.
The spicy-fresh cardamom is taming the black coffee , slightly sweet dark chocolate and caramelized sugar in the base and the balsams are making Kawa Karda Extrait so addictive , i can’t even imagine how good it is. Absolutely I’d like to win a bottle.

Splendid approach, I like such inside information I can’t find anywhere else other than Cafleurebon .I believe Atelier des Ors founder believes that through fragrances he can spread passion and artistry at once, indirectly pointing out to his own character. Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne definitely like virtuous fragrances , unique olfactory experiences while making people happy.

  • It’s my first time entering a giveaway campaign on your blog , and I can’t help but to admire how well structured Cafleurebon is. I have some experience with high-end fragrances and I’m used to detailed descriptions and reviews . What actually impresses me the most is how the lady who wrote the article is not focusing solely on topics like opening, mid and dry-down , longevity and notes , but giving more thoughtful overall experience to Cafleurebon subscribers like me. I not only learned about Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait distinct scent , but also about cardamom being called the “Queen of Spices” (i though saffron was the Queen) , some short coffee and qahwa history lessons , and the cherry on top of the cake was the link to early stages of the Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne careers.
My personal takeaway of the article you ask , the whole success that follows Marie Salamagne and Jean-Phillipe Clermont is like a byproduct of their mutual “Be honest, be yourself , dream big and everything will fall into place” motto . Say for sure that fragrances are way more than a job for the two, more like a journey they very much enjoy.
The question now is what goes best with a cup of good strong coffee? Another cup and a few sprays of Kawa Karda Extrait
Thank you Atelier des Ors, Cafleurebon and Olya Bar. EU

    Hello from UK
All nuances of Jean-Phillipe Clermont journey do have a familiar tune , from his childhood in the Brittany, to growing up with he’s mom’s paintings, table glass and time spent with he’s grandparents. He traveled a lot, learned a lot while keeping his sight forward and never looked back. I’m impressed how he started with selling seashell necklaces to parents friends , and now he owns a well-known and respected company like Atelier des Ors.
I’d love to win Kawa Karda Extrait based on Jean-Phillipe Clermont journey , Olya Bar sterling work , my love for Turkish coffee with cardamom, and my previous experience with Atelier des Ors , delighted owner of Iris Fauve , in my opinion one of the best iris fragrances on the market.
The insightful description of the fine Turkish coffee with cardamom, a bit of chocolate and hazelnut with caramelized sugar are adding different angles to the overall tune. I enjoyed learning about how complex and highly concentrated the fragrance is . Created by Marie Salamagne Kawa Karda Extrait is an olfactory journey that captures the essence of a different kind of coffee fragrance, less sugary than most on the market , but more of a bolder and darker variety.
    Thank you so much

  • The idea of speaking with perfumers and brand founders adds another layer of enjoyment to the whole ballgame

“I first met Marie Salamagne, the perfumer for the range through a friend. On our first meeting we talked about art, craft and perfume and it was clear that she was the right choice to create the perfumes for Atelier Des Ors. She talks about creating perfumes like paintings”

I can emphasize to the Atelier des Ors founder , to click with someone on the first meeting is so rare, so special and I’m glad Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne bonded so well that they continue to work together and create mesmerizing fragrances after all these years.
Kawa Karda Extrait is a fragrance based on rich nostalgia for me too , the rich coffee with spices traditions of the Arabian Peninsula and Turkey maybe a bit modernized by Marie Salamagne with added roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao and dark molasses aspects.
Thank you Jean-Phillipe Clermont , Olya Bar, and also thank you for the generosity

I’d like to catch a plane to Grasse , and discover the new Abstraction Collection releases, not just Kawa Karda Extrait but the other fragrance i saw on Atelier des Ors Instagram account Cocoa Kimiya. The two are not yet available in Germany unfortunately.
My takeaway from Jean-Phillipe Clermont article is that he’s a self driven person striving for continuous improvement and knowledge. Dreaming big is a must for him , and the his tradition and heritage affinity are based on his appreciation for the region of Breton, the place where he grew up.
Rose Omeyyade is spectacular opulent fragrance i own , winning Kawa Karda Extrait would be awesome. The savory sweetness of the cocoa and dark molasses , the freshness of the cardamom are all complimenting the coffee so well , I won’t stop thinking about Kawa Karda Extrait for a while .

There’s a saying that good ideas start with brainstorming, but great ideas start with coffee ☕ I have a feeling for all those years Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie had hundreds of such brainstorming moments, and thousands cups of coffee in between.
My takeaway about the brand from Jean-Phillipe Clermont’s article is the sense of tradition and heritage that he infuses into the brand from his love of his ancestral home and tales, to his and Marie Salamagne mutual dreams and pursuit of perfection and originality.
Kawa Karda Extrait is laid-back and cryptic at the same time, with references to ancient trading routes in North Africa, Middle East and Persia . As a result I’d like to try how a freshly brewed coffee with cardamom, smoky cacao and dark molasses combination smells. In light of Olya Bar review I have no doubt Kawa Karda Extrait is stunning.

Thanks to Olya Bar this time , with the help of Jean-Phillipe Clermont i started thinking about all kinds of warm and tranquil moments I’d like to experience in the Winter , from drinking freshly brewed coffee with cardamom, smoky cacao, earthy undertones and whispers of molasses , to sitting at home next to the fireplace and thinking about the ancient trading routes and “Queen of Spices” moving through Persia, Middle East and North America before reaching European palates. Thanks to Olya Bar i know that smelling Kawa Karda Extrait is a distinct experience .

When I first started Atelier Des Ors I didn’t really look too hard at what others were doing. I had a vision of what I wanted to create and I felt that there was a place for my dream.- Jean-Phillipe Clermont

Such a visonaire with a clear concept of what he wants and how to achieve it , love it.
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

It seems like both Olya Bar do have a lot of past memories with Atelier des Ors and genuinely enjoy the house. I do have experience with Atelier des Ors and the talanted Marie Salamagne too , and i just found out about Kawa Karda Extrait and Jean-Phillipe Clermont early steps into perfumery, so interesting.
Other than a businessman Jean-Phillipe Clermont traveled all over the world, which I believe changed his perspective quite a lot even though he said he’s love for tradition and heritage comes from his Breton roots. I do understand there more meaningful words i can directly quote, but since Atelier des Ors I strongly associate with Musc Immortel it was interesting to learn it was as first limited edition made for Harrods in London:

    Jean-Phillipe Clermont
One is called Iris Fauve that we showed at Pitti Fragranze in September and the other is Musc Immortel that will be an exclusive limited release at Harrods in London.

Like Olya Bar said recently stated that perfumes can trigger past memories and forge future ones, I have a lot of past memories with Musc Immortel and I’d like to forge future ones with Kawa Karda Extrait.
Cardamom, strong black just brewed coffee, dark natural chocolate are all favorites of mine, let alone how Olya Bar said Kawa Karda Extrait was made in the image of the spice-laden coffee of the Middle East know as qahwa, I’ve been to Marrakesh and had a genuine qahwa myself. Very strong, almost mysterious experience I’ll never forget.
Thank you very much Atelier des Ors and Jean-Phillipe Clermont, and special thanks to Olya Bar for the hard work

  • I’ve loved the combination of coffee and cardamom in other fragrances before, so that aspect of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait was immediately intriguing. Moreso is the complexity of this coffee accord; roasty with notes of hazelnut, cocao, sugar, molasses, and earthy undertones. That 40% extrait is potent stuff as well. Sounds like a wonderfully rich coffee fragrance.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Once again all the Cafleurebon information made me wonder, and think for a while

I am even a greater fan of the oriental cuisine and the smell of the shisha.Back in Paris, I worked with fine handmade cigars and it was here that I really began to be intrigued by the world of scent. The smell of the cigars with their scented smoke involved a search for the perfect blend of materials that delivered an incredible odour.
    -Jean-Phillipe Clermont

Where I should even start with this time ?!? Should I start with his passion for art , craftsmanship and beauty , the special memories growing up in French countryside in Brittany , or maybe the emotional connection with Middle Eastern culture and cuisine ,all are equally important for the forming of Jean-Phillipe Clermont identity as brand owner.
Olya Bar know how to grab people’s attention , she introduced me to Atelier des Ors due to her Villa Primrose and Blue Madeleine work , not just that i even tried but ordered Blue Madeleine. The same thing happened with Lune Féline and for the third time thanks to her I know Kawa Karda Extrait is a very special coffee fragrance bridging the gap between the elegance of French perfumery , and the the mysticism of the Middle East. Through the article i can almost feel it , the rich coffee , the black chocolate, the woody and floral density.

  • What else to ask? Exotic coffee cocktail with cardamom, molasses, cocoa , exceptional raw materials and also 40% concentration ! I love the color of the bottle i love this house , Riviera Drive i wear in a warmer months and Lune Feline in the fall.
I also love this specific qahwa note and i find ineresting the whole blending cultures description of getting it. Thanks for the opportunity to win Kawa Karda Extrait , and also
thanks for including quite a lot of Atelier des Ors history linked to this review Olya.
I didn’t initially realize how all started with Jean-Phillipe Clermont ancestors ground on Brittany’s shores, went through his grandparents fine table glass retail business, French West Indies, Lebanon. Creating perfumes like paintings, visualizing her creations where hues create contrast, Marie Salamagne and Jean-Phillipe Clermont work together for long time do continue to amaze the world with novelty fragrances.

    Hey there
The unique merging of spicy and fresh Queen of Spices cardamom, thick Arabic coffee density , hints of caramelized sugar, and some scoops of raw cocoa are the most appealing sides of Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait , such an alluring fragrance . I’m expecting an intoxicating haze that came as a result of the merging.
I’m all for creativity, originality, using great raw materials and Jean-Phillipe Clermont and Marie Salamagne never-ending search for perfection. No one can deny Atelier des Ors bottles are pieces of art, no wonder true craftspeople are involved in the making process.
I had a terrific time reading both Olya Bar Kawa Karda Extrait and Jean-Phillipe Clermont articles

Ahh Kawa Karda Extrait , the name alone has me excited. Thrilling , vibrant and mysterious. Thick black coffee with cardamom and chocolate has me thinking that smelling this will perk me up every time a get a sniff … I believe so. Then on top of that hints of eucalyptus and sweet floral spice ?
After all gooey sweet coffee fragrances coming out one after another it feels like the industry was looking for this. I could not be more excited about a new release.
About Jean-Phillipe Clermont, it was so interesting to read about his background story and the places he has lived in , France , French West Indies, Singapore and how perceptive he is to his surroundings and in what way they have inspired him.
I really love his intention behind developing Atelier Des Ors – to bring his passion for art, refined craftsmanship and beauty together.
It’s worth nothing that he gives full respect to Marie Salamagne and her creative mindset. He cherish her not just as a perfumer, but almost like a family member. Thank you

  • Shrouded in mystery while also deeply rooted in history, a standout was born. Kawa Karda is a spectical to behold and sought after. Coffee and cardamom are allies in this battle and the dynamic duo is the equivalent of Batman and Robin. Both are here to save the day and keep the bad away, figuratively speaking. I would choose Kawa Karda over most of its competitors, commercialized and overly advertised blends that don’t quite check all boxes. I imagine this could satisfy all and disappoint very few. I’m glad I stumbled on a great theme “Best Niche Vanilla Perfumes” . Sinse I love equally good coffee and coffee fragrances, and I’m glad I stumbled across your great “A Bridge To Abstraction” theme
It’s striking that coffee perfumes could go into such a different directions , from floral with rich undertones , to super sweet gourmands , earthy and woody and I have the best of both worlds Kawa Karda Extrait from Atelier des Ors.
Other than the good Arabic coffee connection with Kawa Karda Extrait , what i enjoyed the most in Olya Bar article is the natural and high quality raw materials , the “Queen of Spices” information, and how there’s traces of chocolate and eucalyptus in it.
Bois Sikar has been a signature winter scent of mine for 5 years now and even greater oil concentration in Kawa Karda Extrait i find exciting.
Jean Phillipe Clermont picked up only the best from his worldly experience , and with the significant contribution of Marie Salamagne melted it into Atelier Des Ors to bring their passion for art, refined craftsmanship and beauty together. I like that the two consider every perfume a piece of art , and think for their followers

  • Traveling is my thing , and I hope one day I’ll be lucky enough to visit both traditional coffee houses in Istanbul and spice markets in Morocco.
Olya convinced me that I need to explore more Atelier des Ors fragrances since I only know and own Rose Omeyyade.
I was so caught off guard by Jean-Phillipe Clermont dedication , such a wishful thinker. The smell of his childhood, all the traveling, living in different countries, choosing to work only wit best of the best ingredients and craft people comes as a reminder of how there are still brands like Atelier des Ors and perfumers like Marie Salamagne who still posses imagination, and are not afraid to be adventurous
Qahwa coffee in a bottle , with cardamom and facets of hazelnuts and chocolate , once again Marie Salamagne was able to create memories and not just a great smelling aroma

I’m so intrigued to discover what this fragrance is made of, all on my own that is. I love this house and coffee is an outstanding scent to build upon. Wow, I’m just so curious!
As a takeaway from the mentioned article: “Back in Paris, I worked with fine handmade cigars and it was here that I really began to be intrigued by the world of scent.”
I believe this is a beautiful first step into the fascinating world of scent, one that I’m sure helped to train his nose. I live in Oregon.

Growing up in the middle east, I loved the pairing of cardamom and coffee/qahwah with dates.

This scent reminds me of those days.

I would love to try this.
