Tempus Vitae Parfums FÊTE D’AMBRE is a celebration of the hearth – autumnal warmth in any season. This extrait de parfum embodies the Danish quality of cozy conviviality. A fine, smoky single malt is inferred, enveloped in delectable notes of coffee, maple, and spiced preserved peaches. Epicurean pleasures rest upon a beautiful dry base of woods and myrrh tempered with amber.” ~ Ida Meister

One of the pleasures which arises from years of hard work is the opportunity to be entrusted with important tasks, make introductions, share aromatic gems. This may occur when you collaborate with a perfumer and/or creative director on several projects over time to everyone’s mutual satisfaction: it is very much a team effort. One is then referred to others seeking similar assistance; it becomes a métier. It was a joy last autumn to introduce our Editor-in-Chief Michelyn Camen to the new brand Tempus Vitae Parfums, and arrange to have a sampler set mailed to her. FÊTE D’AMBRE made her Best of Scent 2022 list– and it felt that a review would be timely.

The brand wisely chose to create three fragrances which varied from one another – an introductory trio. Tempus Vitae Parfums FÊTE D’AMBRE was always conceived as a gourmand, with the caveat that it wouldn’t disappear into the seemingly endless number of toothsome releases currently available on the market. In the capable and sensitive hands of perfumer Kyle Mott-Kannenberg, its success was guaranteed. It was Kyle’s idea to employ a caress of pine for added intrigue, which contributes a subtle yet telling insinuation of the healing propensities of nature. I feel that it was a real coup – just enough to imply a more complete Scandinavian-style setting for this comforting perfume. FÊTE D’AMBRE’s initial peachy spice presentation possesses enough maple to feel cosy without cloying; coffee helps to deepen the sense of wellbeing. Fine quality myrrh provides another perfect foil for gourmandise – a sublimely arid meditative material which consorts felicitously with vetiver, cedar, and a dry woody amber.

We are snuggled up by a blazing hearth in the midst of the forest while wanting for nothing – save a few good books and perhaps the companionship of a beloved friend or pet nestled by our side. FÊTE D’AMBRE is well-suited to the contemplative practice of long sylvan rambles, solitude as well as intimacy, and the simpler pleasures of life: the chalorous cup shared, perhaps a finger of good whisky, a dollop of maple syrup on our freshly-griddled pancakes. Curled up by the fireplace, enraptured by flames, embers and our own thoughts.

Notes: Peach, Clove, Coffee, Maple, Pine, Myrrh, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Amber

  • “FÊTE D’AMBRE is a celebration of the hearth – autumnal warmth in any season” this is my favorite time of year so when I see this I just know it smells like sitting by a fire and being cozied up.

    I live in Dallas, TX

What a cozy description! I like the detail regarding the slight touch of pine that adds to a Scandinavian fireplace setting. The peach, clove, coffee, and mango sound like they would converge to something beautifully sweet, spicy, and relaxing. Tempus Vitae is doing very cool things and I love that it’s extrait concentration – seems like the type of fragrance I would like to stay on skin for hours and hours with a close scent bubble. Would love to win – shipping to Pennsylvania

  • Sounds beautiful! I love the concept of hygge. Long gone are the days of squeezing myself into outfits, horrible shoes, and lots of makeup. No i rely on cozy clothes and a little fragrance to feel good. I would love to try some comfortable fragrances! Always what i am looking for as a light sprayer who likes soft, unique scents. Im in Bellingham, wa. 🙂

  • Oh my, this sounds like it wouls be right up my alley. Ida’s descripton of this one makes me want to curl up in a sleeping bag beside a crackling fire. As Ida mentioned, the gourmand market is flooded at the moment and I think that the creator of this one was wise to give it an outdoorsy edge. The pine facets in this are what excite me the most. I think they will frame the heart of this fragrance beautifully as the whisky, peach, and maple dance around the fire. Sounds like a wonderful time. Reading from NC, USA.

  • Spiced peaches sound delicious. Verynice to hear it breaks from the ordinary gourmand with the addition of pine. I live in the US

  • John Michael says:

What strikes me is one word, “smoky!” Sold! Good luck all from Boston, Massachusetts!

  • For me, the “caress of pine for added intrigue” piques my interest. One of my favorite decadent pine scents is Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles, which combines pine and fir balsam with jammy stewed fruits, scrumptious spices, and incense. Tempus Vitae Fete D’Ambre sounds like a different animal entirely with its cozy indoor fireside vibe, but, hey, it’s got a touch of pine, preserved fruit, and incense. Come of think of it, it sounds like it might have a bit of a common feeling with Frassai Teisenddu which I’m wearing today. Would love to try out the Tempus Vitae line for the first time. I’m in the USA, thanks for the draw!

  • Joseph Mills says:

I love all of your parfum I think what you do is great any Tim Hooks is one of the greatest guys u can get to know is very helpful and will Answer any question that you might have about perfume

  • Myrrh and Amber Together sounds both new and obvious: I am completely entranced by this idea! I live in the USA.

  • This fragrance sounds very warm, especially the coffee and the spiced peach notes in this which would be amazing in the cold weather thats coming up. Vetiver has really grown on me after encre noire, so its nice the see it added with cedar. Overall this fragrance sounds incredible, like a cold morning on Christmas day lighted up by the fireplace. From TX, USA.

  • Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE sounds right up my alley; anything that evokes a feeling of hygge, hearth, and autumnal warmth is a fragrance for me. While I do enjoy gourmand fragrances, I tend to prefer those with notes that temper the sweetness. It sounds like FÊTE D’AMBRE contains notes that help keep it from becoming cloying. It also contains a few of my all-time favorite notes: pine, myrrh, and clove. I love coffee, maple, and amber, as well. I loved Ida’s description of FÊTE D’AMBRE, especially her last paragraph. It truly sounds like the coziest gourmand fragrance perfectly suited to the cold weather we’re having. Thank you, Ida, for the great review, and thank you to Tempus Vitae for the generous giveaway. I would love the opportunity to own a bottle of FÊTE D’AMBRE. I am located in the USA.

  • Hygge is a concept I embrace, particularly during the winter months. How exciting to find a perfume that fits right in with the aesthetic. I am drawn to maple and coffee notes, which makes me think FÊTE D’AMBRE is a perfume I would gladly wear. Thank you for introducing me to this house! ~Indiana

This sounds like perfection. I love the notes and the addition of pine to a gourmand sounds lovely. Thank you for the draw. From the US.

  • Ida!!! ❤️❤️❤️ If you love it, I need to experience it! This house has been on my list since Lauryn’s review of Carpe Diem. An amber gourmand sounds perfect for surviving the long march of February! I’m especially interested in how Ida is careful to point out that Fete d’Ambre is not overly-sweet (yay!) and event ventures into some experimentation with the pine note! Fascinating! The unexpected, even in a glance, can be Gorgeous! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity! ❤️ USA

  • All of my favorite notes are mentioned! I’m a fan of unisexy fragrances and will definitely check Tempus Vitae out. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. Mich USA

  • I love the way real peaches smell, though I have yet to find one that doesn’t veer into synthetic children’s play makeup territory… I am curious to give this one a whiff to see if it manages to steer clear of that trend. Fete d’Ambre sounds like breakfast in bed. Yum!
    -I am from the USA!

  • Fall desserts are probably my favorite. FÊTE D’AMBRE sounds like the best way to experience a fall dessert-no calories, The opening of peach is interesting and I’m not surprised to see it’s a roasted caramelized peach with maple syrup notes. The coffee and spices on top of an amber sylvan base highlights the hearth in Denmark nature of the fragrance. Sounds lovely. Would love to try it. MD, USA.

  • I like the idea that this is a cozy but not too sweet gourmand. It sounds just right for this time of year! I’m in the USA, thank you for the review and draw!

  • Scandinavian style comfort perfume……yes!! As much as I want winter to end, I would love to curl up by a fire testing out this fragrance. With Ida as an evaluator for the brand it must be good!!! Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • This review leaves me hungry and thirsty both at the same time.
Love a unique take on gourmand.

  • I love a great amber. Nothing better in my opinion. I like that there is a series. This one with the peaches and pine though… magic.
    Thank you for the chance!

  • I’m not sure what sold me more on this fragrance…the pet nestled by your side or maple syrup on pancakes. Both make it seem so warm and inviting!

As a Pastry Chef I love all types of goumands , “toothsome” , or not , I don’t judge as long as I like it
Ida Meister take on Tempus Vitae Fete d’Ambre made me think of making Peach Coffee Cake , with Pecan Streusel with a pinch of whiskey, Coffee with Cinnamon and Cloves , and going to a picnic in the woods. Artisanal gourmand i have to try

  • I have been reading Dictionary of Lost words. Contemplation, and intention. This review has me focused on the flickering flame. I would love to experience FÊTE D’AMBRE as it is well-suited to the contemplative practice of long sylvan rambles, solitude as well as intimacy, and the simpler pleasures of life:

  • This review of Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE by Ida transported me to camp fires and cozy times and good food and smells around them. Nice to know it is an overly sweet, toothsome gourmand. Thanks for the review and draw. From continental USA.

  • FÊTE D’AMBRE sounds equal parts comforting and delicious. I like the idea of balancing sweet peach with a variety of woody notes—this fragrance’s roaring hearth—and dry myrrh, especially in the company of coffee and maple. I assume the drydown on this is absolutely gorgeous.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • “smoky single malt is inferred, enveloped in delectable notes of coffee, maple, and spiced preserved peaches”

Strangely enough , Ida Meister review is so relaxing, and comfy , the meaning of Hygge is also kind of meant to lead us into the same direction , and still the picture that came to mind is different than a few good books, and a pet nestled by my side.
I don’t know wy , but my own Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE picture is tied to going on a date, or to live music jazz clubs , or maybe the fragrance is so well suited for all of the above occasions. Nonetheless I’m all in for a whiskey, pine aromas, maple syrup and even pancakes
    Exciting giveaway, USA

Tempus Vitae Parfums FÊTE D’AMBRE is right up my alley, epicurean, sweet, fruity and boozy. I particularly like that Kyle Mott-Kannenberg made one well balanced, sophisticated gourmand for grown-ups . I need to have balance in my life, and I believe FÊTE D’AMBRE will suit me well.
Thank you Ida , and Tempus Vitae

  • It is the notes that caught my attention. When I opened the article I was hoping it wasn’t another sweet fireplace fragrance and to my surprise the notes are more complex.when I saw clove vetiver, pine, myrrh, coffee I knew it would be more complex and mature. The thoughts it conjures up are of me sitting by my firepit in NJ, enjoying the night sky on a cool autumn evening. Thank you Ida for your alluring picture of a calm evening fire with a nice beverage just listening to the fire crackle.

  • Such a special fragrance, Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE feels like a fragrance made specially for me 🙂 It is a unique end dominated by variety of accents aroma , coffee , canned peaches , single malt whiskey and pine . I can almost sense the Danish quality of cozy conviviality .
I’m thinking about the iconic Irish Coffee Cocktail right now . It’s actually quite simple, choose a great Irish whiskey , The Sexton Single Malt for example , made and use thick and strong hot espresso, preferably from 100% Arabica , sweeten it with organic brown sugar , and topped with cream . I’ll treat myself now with Irish Coffee Cocktail , I even have canned peaches at home .
For the sake of Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE review , I’ll use maple syrup instead of brown sugar. One of the best cocktails of all time , and just like FÊTE D’AMBRE perfect for a chilly evening , both absolute delights.
Cheers, and thank you for the opportunity

What strikes me about Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE is that I have been hearing some buzz on Social Media about this brand and I love my warm, spicy, and gourmand fragrances. Ida’s description really caught my attention A fine, smoky single malt is inferred, enveloped in delectable notes of coffee, maple, and spiced preserved peaches. Epicurean pleasures rest upon a beautiful dry base of woods and myrrh tempered with amber.” I loved learning more about this new brand Tempus Vitae and this great fragrance Fete D Ambre. • Regis Monkton says:

According to the review and the list of notes, this fragrance definitely appeals to me. I like how the aspects of the pine, the peach w/ maple, the coffee and the myrrh are mentioned in this review. I think that it would be a good gourmand fragrance to add to my collection. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Great review by Ida, again.
I love that it has a warm scent, of maple, coffee and malt, just amazing. I love warm fragrances, specially for cold nights and special ocassions. I would to have this one

I love anything related to Hygge. I like the cozy moments of conviviality that leads to contentment. FÊTE D’AMBRE, with its comforting peach, pine , coffee, and myrrh notes, would be the perfect fragrance to wear when pursuing the simple pleasures of life.

  • “share aromatic gems…”

Tempus Vitae Parfums I don’t know yet, but I know Kyle Mott-Kannenberg for his work being the perfumer behind most of Blackcliff Parfums, and indeed he likes to create aromatic gems , Sexy Eyes is so good.

“A fine, smoky single malt is inferred…”

I’m a fragrance nurd , but also a strict teetotaller , and smellwise I don’t think I’ll be able to find significant differences between a $500 fine ,smoky single malt, and $12 one , if I have to smell both from the bottle…
If I have to judge FÊTE D’AMBRE from Kyle Mott-Kannenberg previous work, and Ida impressions, I’m expecting well blended woody, slightly conifer fragrance, with cozy coffee, maple and peaches adding more comfy Nordic feeling to the composition.
All profiles I already follow, @waltherp99bg

  • Family vacation in a cabin in Colorado, with coffee, maple, and spiced preserved peaches during the day , and some fine, smoky single malt whiskey in the evenings when kids are sleeping , is what came to mind when I read Ida Meister review.
Tempus Vitae Parfums FÊTE D’AMBRE is inviting fragrance, with slight cuddling touches too

Thanks for the fun review Ida. It was great to read about the coziness of this scent.

I like the way this scent is composed. The use of peach along with clove, coffee andmaple, extending to the vetiver and amber to hold it down is really such a neat evolution of the fragrance.

I would love to try this American brand.

Very interesting review Ida ! What strikes me about Tempus Vitae FÊTE D’AMBRE is the idea of a gourmand with a twist – with the added note of pine for “intrigue” and the suggestion of the “healing propensities of nature”, giving the fragrance a decidedly Scandenavian bent. As someone who generally doesn’t love gourmands but adores woody piney foresty scents, this one very much intrigues me more than a regular gourmand. I would love to try it!

    I live in the US.
