Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 Review (2022) + Scent By Design Giveaway

Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33

Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 by Olya Bar

A true artist never stops visualizing and creating. Drawing inspiration from all walks of life, Founder and Creative Director Sergio Momo’s path in the field of arts began relatively early. He graduated with a diploma in Fine Arts, after which he moved to London, where he began working for several design and advertising agencies.

“Xerjoff started in 2004 as an extension to a design business I owned”. -Sergio Momo

His love for fragrance was always in his heart, deeply engraved into his memory since childhood, so the decision to create his own brand in 2004 was neither a matter of chance nor a sudden whim. Born into a family who truly appreciated and understood perfumes, Sergio’s father was a world traveler, and Sergio Momo often spent months in Eastern countries, where he discovered his passion for natural essences and woods.

Xerjoff P.33 Sketchbook review

Xerjoff P.33 presentation by Olya Bar

Fast forward to 2022, and the Xerjoff brand with an impressive number of world-renowned fragrances, launches a new perfume, and it smells beautiful. As a true lover of Xerjoff fragrances, I was excited to try the pillar of the newest collection – Sketchbook P.33 (inspired by page 33 of his journal). A fragrance whose concept was pulled out from Sergio’s private archives of sketches, ideas, and creative thinking. Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 translates as an intense emotion one experiences and can pour out onto the blank canvas, creating a visual representation of what one may feel. From paper to reality, it is as if Sergio Momo breathed life into a sketch, giving it a soul, an olfactory signature, and all the colors one may think of.

“Sometimes the best ideas are those that get forgotten, only to be rediscovered.” – Sergio Momo.

Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 is a happy state of mind, floral and fruity; it truly feels luxurious and sophisticated. It bursts with energy with a crunchy opening of green apple and zesty bitterness of grapefruit—a refreshing spritz of bergamot and a rather unexpected blend of iris and cinnamon peaks from the heart. The dry-down begins to settle into a more masculine base of cedarwood and amber, pulling the whole composition into one cohesive structure. It has a faint spiciness from the pink peppercorn at the top, which seeps into the base. Soon after I got the first spritz on my skin, it quickly accelerated from zero to sixty and held steady at that mark. After an hour, its fruity opening promptly shifted into the second gear of the smooth and floral facet of the iris, intensified by the richness of the woodsy base. The overall volume of its initial rush finally slowed down somewhere around midday, and slightly spiced woodiness is what lingers on the skin for hours. Still wondering what the new release is all about? Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 is absolutely worth taking for a spin; you will enjoy every bit of it.

Notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Pink peppercorn, Iris, Cinnamon, Cedarwood, Musk, Amber.

The bottle was kindly gifted to me but my opinion is always my own. I am the Digital Strategist and  Communications Liaison for Twisted Lily.

Appreciate the write up from Ms. Olya. This offering interests me because I’ve heard it resembles 1 million prive, which is a fragrance of wanted to get my hands on for some time. Many thanks for the giveaway opportunity. Blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • Sketchbook P.33 sounds like a perfect unisex fragrance for fall. I liked that it transitions from a fruity floral, with a bit of green apple, into a woodsy amber. The cinnamon note is one of my favs in fragrances. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. Mich USA

  • First of all, thank you so much for organizing this giveaway! As always, absolutely loved Oyla’s thoughts on this. The way she described the perfume truly captures the essence. Fruity and woody fragrances always intrigue me, so I am very excited for this one! And, Iris is my one of the most favorite notes in perfume! Also, Xerjoff is my all-time favorite house and will always have my respect for their contribution to the perfume industry. Love from USA!

  • Olya’s review informs that Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33 is a floral, fruity fragrance with quite a cheerful composition in which the iris note also plays a prominent role. It is a comfortable wear for all year round. I am in US.

  • Wonderful review by Olya. I love how art turns into a Fragrance. “Happy state of mind” the notes are perfect for cooler weather. I would love to own a Fragrance by Xerjoff , sketchbook P.33 has my attention. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • In Olya, I find a kindred spirit with the declared love for Xerjoff fragrances and have watched some videos of Sergio Momo who has to be one of the most down to earth fragrance geniuses I ever saw. I like the quote from the man himself about forgotten ideas that are rediscovered. My run-away favorite from the house is Naxos followed closely by More than Words. Thank you Olya for reviewing Sketchbook P.33 and Europerfumes for the generous giveaway. I’m in USA

  • Sergio momo it’s a true genius, i really love Xerjoff fragances, i only have Naxos, but Sketchbook p.33 should be a powdery spice fragance that will be my next Xerjoff baby, and yes! I live in Orlando, FL. USA

  • This review confirms what I have found about xerjoff perfumes. They are all high-quality and well blended. This one seems to be versatile enough to be worn in all seasons, which is wonderful. I’m experience with this house in and Naxos is still one of my favorites. Thank you. Usa

This sounds extremely succulent and smooth for the fall time, and not necessarily gourmand, but definitely reminiscent of those feels. Would absolutely love to add this to my collection!

  • After reading above, I can picture exactly what the fragrance smells like. And you feel like you’re in the imagination of the creator. What an amazing sounding fragrance that’s going to fit Xerjoff’s Iconic collection. I’ve only smelled a handful of Xerjoff’s fragrances and they have all been masterpieces in there own way. Grateful for this experience and opportunity. USA

This is the first time I’ve read a review from Olya, or maybe I wasn’t paying attention. Olays description of the transition of notes is so picturesque! I need to smell this, if only to compare what I smell to Olays review

  • I loved the description of this perfume accelerating from “zero to sixty”: it made me laugh and also curious to smell it! The citrus, iris, and amber together make this perfume sound both energetic and elegant.
    WV, USA

  • Xerjoff Sketchbook P33 sounds like a fun energizing fragrance. The opening of green apple, grapefruit and bergamot sounds zingy and refreshing. I’m happy to see iris featured prominently in the heart of the fragrance as iris is my most favorite floral note. The base of musk, woods and amber provides a solid comforting finish. Like all Xerjoffs, this sounds exceptionally well blended and great quality. MD, USA.

  • The new Xerjoff hype train is coming i believe . Sketchbook P.33 is not only is inspired by Sergio Momo private archives of sketches, but i also think it represents the beauty , passion, lust , and sensuality of Italian man, and women.
Ideally balanced green apple, and grapefruit opening , gentle iris , cedar and amber, and it’s made by Xerjoff? Not to mention Olya said “you will enjoy every bit of it” . Wow….
Sketchbook P.33 is truly awesome, and sophisticated fragrance , and I believe I’d feel in good spirits while wearing it.
My favorite Xerjoff is Lira .
Beautiful giveaway , thanks a lot Olya , and Europerfumes

  • Oh boy, I am a huge fan of Xerjoff fragrances, being Naxos my favorite one. To me, Xerjoff is the definition of italian elegance. I love everything they do, but mostly the most citrus and floral fragrances. This new one seems something awesome with the green apple and the grapefuit, surely something I would use in spring, summer or mostly anytime I would feel like.
    Would love to win this.

  • I’m a fan of xerjoff fragrances and her description of this one sounds great and I also like iris thanks for the review and giveaway

  • Through Sketchbook P.33, and Olya review people worldwide could learn about about Sergio Momo background in Fine Arts, to take a look at his private journal , and last but, not least to try , and buy one refined and multifaceted fragrance.
I like Sketchbook P.33 starts fruity and crunchy, but later on turns woody , and floral.
Olya take on the fragrance made me think of going on vacation with my girlfriend, making and later sharing Granny Smith Cinnamon Custard Cake , drinking freshly squeezed grapefruit juice while sitting next to a big Iris field.
Judging by how enthusiastic Olya is, I have a feeling Sketchbook P.33 scent, and development will shock me in a good way.
I had similar experience with not only the best Casamorati, to the best Xerjoff , and one of the best gourmands ever – Italica , the awesome , and similar to Toffee Almond Cake (traditional recipe) fragrance .
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Thanks for the nice review Olya!

I love fragrances with iris in it and this looks like a nice one to try.

    Cheers frim WI, USA

  • Olya, this sounds like such an uplifting fragrance! I loved your article and the way you described your reaction of the first spritz going from zero to 60. I really enjoy fragrances that have an apple top note. One of my favorites is the original Roberto Cavalli. I have very little exposure to Xerjoff scents. The only one I own is Golden Dallah. This would be a lovely next step in my experience with Xerjoff.
I live in the USA – PA

  • Hello
Olya really describes the note of the fragrance to sound so fresh yet edible. Almost like an amazing dessert to savor. It really sounds like an awesome scent and Xerjoff does everything at such a high level. Mike in Maine

  • Italians truly their country , cherish Italian culture, and are proud of their heritage, I love it.
    I happen to know Sketchbook P.33 , I had a sample i finished.
Sergio Momo said in a few interviews that P.33 is the first fragrance, from a new Sketchbook line.
Like Olya all the freshness, sensual iris, the cinnamon , all i clearly smell. . The base is full , balsamic and more ambery, rather than woody.
I too think Sketchbook P.33 is “definitely worth taking for a spin” , the quality, and artisanal approach are present.
The best Xerjoff fragrances are Cruz del Sur II , followed by Golden Dallah and then comes my old love Lira.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • I like how Sketchbook P.33 is not just a great composition , but it’s made to honor Sergio Momo past ideas. It’s like he had the idea of making Sketchbook P.33 years back, but stored it for a better days in his sketchbook .
Definitely fragrance with a character, that has a lot of layers, fresh, crunchy, woody and ambery.
I love such non-linear artistic perfumes , something to be expected of Xerjoff of course.
Naxos and La Capitale are my favorite Xerjoff beauties , and I’d love to compare them with Sketchbook P.33
    Thanks for the draw

  • Another fragrance from my favorite house! When I see the advertising for this fragrance, I immediately sense that it promotes clarity and brightness, which I’m happy to see reflected in Olya’s note of its happy state of mind and burst of energy. This is one of those houses where I’m always happy to take the time to understand Sergio Momo better, the conceptualization behind bottle design and approaches to perfumery, and of course how Xerjoff’s audience engages with their creations. As an artist myself, I truly appreciate the emphasis in this collection that perfumery, from idea to iteration to final product, is an art, a fashion, and a science all at the same time. The idea of “translating as an intense emotion one experiences and can pour out onto the blank canvas” is beautiful and exciting to me. I’d love to add this Xerjoff to my collection, and as always—THANK YOU for this lovely review and offer!

  • I have a sample of this right when it came out, but it’s hard to really experience it when it’s from a dabber. From what I did experience, it was really delightful. I was wondering why it was named Sketchbook P33, thank you for explaining in the article, and as always, thanks for the draw. In the US.

  • I loved Olya’s description of the progression of the fragrance, from a bright and energetic opening to a richer, woody, drydown. I love fragrances that evolve throughout the day! I would love to be entered in the giveaway. I’m in MN, USA.

  • I like the description “0 to 60” lol it gives me a true sense of how this fragrance will burst on my skin. I was hooked at iris and amber notes. This is definitely in my wheelhouse.

  • Olya’s description of Sketchbook P.33’s opening caught my attention; fruit and tart citrus combined with a blend of iris and cinnamon. That combination strikes me as unusual and I’m not sure I’ve tried anything remotely similar. While the cedar, amber, and musk base is far from unexpected, I imagine it makes for a comforting drydown, and also highlights the unusual moments in this fragrance’s progression. Thanks for the review.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Olya’s review of Xerjoff Sketchbook P.33. I loved learning more about the founder and creative director of Xerjoff Sergio Momo and the wonderful brand he envisioned in 2004. Sketchbook P.33 is a beautiful fruity floral with spicy and woody undertones this sounds truly divine. I love how Olya goes into such elaborate detail describing this amazing fragrance. I would love the opportunity to win this fragrance. I am from the USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’d like to try this fragrance for multiple reasons, e.g. I like its notes and because Olya described it as luxurious and sophisticated. My favorite from Xerjoff is “XJ 1861 Naxos”. I live in the U.S.A.

  • sephrenia300 says:

Lovely review Olya! What appealed to me about Olya’s review is learning that the fragrance was inspired by page 33 of Sergio’s private archives of sketches, ideas, and creative thinking. The idea of a fragrance pulled out a simple 2D sketch brought to life and into the air sounds very intriguing and romantic! It makes me very much want to try it. I live in the US.
