Top 10 Feel Good Fragrances for 2022

Top Ten Feel Good Fragrances @redolesssence

Trauma. Stress. Anxiety. Fear. Isolation. Loneliness. Travel restrictions. I think many of us would say that the past two  years have been unlike any years in our lifetimes.  So, what is the connection to perfume?  Ingredients such as lavender, bergamot, chamomile, citrus, frankincense, jasmine, rose, vanilla that have been used for thousands of years to treat instability, anxiety and depression; they can be calming, grounding, meditative, uplifting and even used in some cultures as an aphrodisiac. Our sense of smell is links us to our memories. I asked Video Contributor Steven Gavrielatos to choose his personal top ten feel good fragrances for 2022.  (Take a deep dive into how scent affects our wellbeing by reading Deputy Editor Ida Meister’s Award winning  article “Scent and Healing: The transformative power of perfume”Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

Best fragrances for 2022

Feel Good Fragrances @redolesssence

Floraiku I Am Coming Home (Sophie Labbe) Where there is tea, there is paradise…an old Russian saying: I am coming home by Floraiku is a tea-based fragrance that creates the ultimate feeling of serenity. This tranquil composition combines white tea with ginger and is sure to comfort you.

Milano Fragranze Naviglio (Michelle Moelhausen): With Milano Fragranze, the brand’s founder, Alessandro Brun, takes us on an olfactive journey around his home city of Milan. With Milano Fragranze’s Naviglio, the scent is evocative of the blue-collar workers of the city washing their clothes in the nearby canals. The soapy quality of the fragrance is completely novel, and the citrus top is comprised of neroli and bergamot from Calabria. Lavender also contributes to the soap accord, and a base of cedar and white musk create the dichotomy between earthy and clean.

Jovoy Paris Fire At Will (Vanina Muracciole):  Fire at Will is a vanilla masterpiece and the ultimate feel good vanilla of 2021. For Jovoy Paris Fire At Will, perfumer Vanina Muracciole adds her personal signature, a little je ne sais quoi that makes the difference. This time it was an amazing mimosa note on top that added a unique twist. Vanilla has two distinct benefits: calming, and is also said to be an aphrodisiac

Xerjoff Symphonium (Chris Maurice) is chocolate done right!  Chocolate contains some of the chemicals produced by the brain when we fall in love, which might be one of the reasons it is so popular as a gift for Valentine’s Day and such an addictive note in perfumery. This gourmand perfume fuses Belgian chocolate with Brazilian orange and cardamom. There are two varieties of agarwood in the base.   Master Perfumer Maurice Roucel in an interview with Editor Michelyn Camen calls Oud  aka agarwood “the most erotic raw material” and ties together its use as both medicine and aphrodisiac.

Nishane Ege Ilias Ermenidis is a refreshing take on  aromatic profile. This bright and luminous composition showcases notes of basil and mint. The yuzu fruit in the opening is fresh in an unconventional way. Incense grounds the fragrance. Notes include: yuzu, violet leaves, anise, basil, green cardamom, mint, olibanumlicorice

Best Feel Good Fragrances for 2022

Roja Parfums Creation-E Pour Homme (Roja Dove) is a celebratory scent like none other. Every year is a new beginning. The cognac accord is rich and flavorful as we are also delighted by the sophisticated nature of tobacco and the richness of vanilla.

Kajal Lamar (Mark Buxton): “Journey from the self to the Self and find the mine of gold. Leave behind what is sour and bitter and move toward the sweet.”-RUMI Kajal Lamar is a very much a rose perfume; rose is known to bring harmony and warm feelings. Lamar is gilded in golden amber, and jasmine and vanilla add sensuality.

Memo Corfu (Phillipe Parparella): Memo released Corfu in 2021 and this olfactive trip takes Steven to the island in Greece where he spent happy childhood years. Notes include: Bergamot, rhubarb, mandarin, cassis, grapefruit, lemon, orange, basil, rose, musk, jasmine, peach, raspberry, geranium, clove, orris, sandalwood, cedar, amber, moss, patchouli

Parfums de Marly Habdan (Guillame Flavigny) has a combination of frankincense and sweet myrrh which are believed to relieve stress, are grounding and release negative emotions. Steven detects the calming presence of chamomile. Notes: Amber, incense, oppoponox, rose

Strangelove NYC’s LostinFlowers (Christophe Laudamiel): This is the top of Steven’s list of feel good fragrances. LostinFlowers smells like hope, renewal and new beginnings. Jasmine and gardenia are said to be mood boosters, reduce depression and anxiety as well as raise libido. Much more than the sum of its notes, one of the beautiful florals Steven (and MIchelyn) has smelt. Notes: jasmine, red champaca, gardenia enfleurage, saffronoud, lily of the valley, marigold.

Video Journalist Steven Gavrielatos  with contributions from Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief)- DISCLOSURE we are not aromatherapists and we do not claim that these perfumes will make you feel good. But you will smell great.

  • Steven’s list of fragrances is quite diverse including floral iris-based perfumes, citrusy perfumes, and boozy perfumes. I don’t know if the perfumes have healing power but I do think they make us feel good as aroma can have an impact on the mood. My feel good fragrance is Dior Eau Sauvage. My choice is Parfums de Marly Habdan. I am in US.

  • Bennie Johnson says:

First off, Steven is one of the best reviewers on YouTube. I’ve been buying and wearing so many fragrances during the pandemic, that’s it’s a legit problem. My go to has been sedley from PDM as it’s so uplifting to me. Would love to win habdan or lamar. Keep up the great work. I’m in md, usa.

  • ayesha syed says:

great video as always. symphonium would be my fave as im a chocoholic. im from n.y., but moving to t.x. in order to compromise with my husb who has been in n.y. with me for 10 yrs. my choice if i win would be Lamar. i love Rumi’s mysticism. i would benefit from rose inspired harmony in my life. my feel good fragrance used to be swarovski aura (pink peppercorn and rose) but its discontinued. Lamar would fill the space beautifully

  • It’s strange. I have all these expensive perfumes in my collection, yet my feel good fragrances all tend to be incredibly affordable. I suppose because they were my signatures back when I didn’t have two nickels to rub together, and the memories I have associated with them (conscious or otherwise) are tickled by their presence. Azzaro’s Pour Homme, Chrome Sport and Tommy immediately come to mind, but others like Eau des Missions, Boss #6 and D&G Pour Homme from 1994 also have special places in my heart. Couldn’t agree more with the historical use of fragrance to control mood. Extremely important to cultivate a balanced mind when it comes to assertaining the root of an illness and releasing it. Shame it isn’t used more often in allopathic medicine. It certainly seems like Steven’s choices flirt with his sweeter side! Love his choice of Creation-E. Was my favourite fragrance for a long time. The only reason I wouldn’t consider it a feel-good fragrance for me is because I don’t feel good using it up! lol Yeah, $$$. Certainly am a fan of Habdan too. Or as I like to call – apple cinnamon quaker oatmeal in a bottle. 🙂 Dead serious. That would be my pick! USA @donilight

  • My choice is Kajal LAMAR. I thought it was fabulous. A good fragrance is one that we remember for a long time. I live in Poland, EU. My Insta name: insztagramekphoto

  • Amazing video by Steve as always. Really enjoy the content of his videos and this one is really good. Fragrances have the power to make you feel special.
I would like a bottle of Kajal LAMAR should I win.
My feel good fragrance is Ormonde Man by Ormonde Jayne – it just transports me to my childhood, simply amazing.
I live in the United Kingdom.
I started to follow cafleurbonoffical on insta and my instagram page is: designiche.fragrances

  • My choice is lostinflowers. I thought it was fabulous. A good fragrance is one that we remember for a long time. I live in Poland, EU. My Insta name: insztagramekphoto

  • My feel good fragrance is Ambre Nuit by Christian Dior. Such a calming, wonderful, soft scent! I am in heaven every time I wear it.

I would love to win Kajal Lamar as I know this house is an often presence on this blog, each of their offerings covering a wide range of olfactive genres, but I have never got the chance to try any of them unfortunately.

    I am in EU. Thanks.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Steven’s delivery, in and of itself is calming, and so it accentuates the mood as he highlights these relaxing fragrances. I don’t know about healing powers directly but I will have to say, in the midst of what we’re all facing now and in the past couple years, we should be blessed to have the opportunity to have the added luxury of fragrances in our lives. Many folks around the world are struggling mentally, physically, and/or emotionally and may not even have the bare necessities. We should be grateful in this time to enjoy what we have. Thanks to Steven and Michelyn for their thoughts here. If I should win, I’d choose PdM Habdan. Appreciate the giveaway opportunity! Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • I enjoyed Steven’s discussion pertaining to “feel good fragrances”. Tea, clean/soapy w/Neroli, vanilla (mmm), chocolate (OMG – feel good?, How about feeling ecstatic :)), citrus/basil, booze (hiccup), floral/rose with pineapple, citrus w rhubarb/strawberry (I’m salivating), incense/cinnamon with chamomile (relax extreme with healing properties), and Jasmine are all ways that make me feel good. As always, Steven is right on. My feel good fragrances are numerous. I guess to keep it simple my favorite is whatever happens to be my SOTD :). Should I be one of the winners of the giveaway my choice of fragrance is Roja Dove’s Creation – E…a beautiful creation! USA

  • I personally haven’t smelled any of the fragrances in the video. I definitely I’m interested in all of them.. I do believe a fragrance can boost confidence.

  • Love this topic, I studied aromatherapy and the aspect of fragrance that is most intriguing to me is it’s ability to effect out mood. Clary Sage and citrus peels are antidepressant, peppermints energizing, lavender for calming etc. I loved hearing Steven’s personal history and connections to the scents he picked. For me indolic florals just make me swoon with their beauty and sensuality, Moon Bloom by Hiram green is one that lifts my spirits and reminds me of the beauty in the world. For this reason I would love to try Lostinflowers!!

  • Habdan is one of the PDM scents that I really want to get my nose on. Everything from the house I’ve tried has flown past my expectations, including the scents that I only had a passing interest towards. Layton was one that I’d heard good things about but looking at the note breakdown, I wasn’t obsessed. As soon as I got my nose on it my opinion flipped to the extreme opposite. It’s currently one of my favorite ones to reach to for the colder weather and I would definitely consider it one of my feel good fragrances!

  • Ruben Alviar says:

Steven did a great job with his list. He always has perfectly crafted lists. I also believe fragrances can make you feel good when you are feeling down. If I were to win (I really hope I do) I would chose Habdan by Parfums de Marly it sounds amazing. I’m in the US and I followed you on Instagram. My Instagram name is runwithchrist

  • I always love Stephen’s reviews, he’s very descriptive and helps you understand what each fragrance is about. Perfumes have the ability to enhance moods, transport you to different places, give you confidence and can make you stand out. My personal feel good fragrance is Givenchy “pi”, there are so many wonderful memories tied to it I will always keep a bottle. I would love to win Kajal “Lamar”. Indiana USA

  • Elvis camilo says:

I am new in fragrance world I don’t know much about cologne . I am learning a lot with steve great channel hope see his channel with 1.000.000 + subscribers in the future. I wish I could smell habdan perfume de Marly l live in us.

  • Great list Steven!
Chamomile is one of the notes that takes me back to my childhood … drinking a hot cup of Chamomile tea after dinner with the fam …
I would love to try Parfums de Marly Habdan.
    USA.

  • I love that Steven’s choices are so eclectic. I don’t know about others but perfumes can really lift my spirits. Some feel like a warm blanket and others feel like rays of sunshine to me. My feel good fragrance is Mancera’s Black Vanilla.

The fragrance that speaks to me in this list is Strangelove NY lostinflowers. It just sounds like a beautiful, quiet field. Pure bliss…

Thanks for the giveaway and Happy New Year All! In the USA.

  • I’m really impressed with Steven’s selection, most of them wanted to try.

I’m also find the tea accord so relaxing, so mi feeling good fragrance is Nishane Wulung Cha.

I would like to get the Parfums de Marly Habdan.

    I’m in AZ United States
    Thanks

  • Michelyn and Steven!!! ❤️❤️❤️ What a fantastic review today! And Ida! ❤️ I love your “Scent and Healing” article so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
The fragrances on Steven’s list are of highest quality and such great picks! This is a really good giveaway! Good luck to all of us! Someone in the fragrance industry that understands the psychology of scent and very successfully incorporates it into her fragrances is Danielle Fleming at Noteology. Thank you, CaFleureBon for introducing me to one of my favorite perfume houses (and monthly subscription programs, Olfactif)! Danielle’s creations all focus on how scent effects our well-being. Many of my every-day fragrance loves come from Noteology for this reason. I often wear Citron Pomelo, Midnight Leather, White Tea Jasmine, Blue Sage, Honey Blossom, and White Pepper Mandarin from Noteology. They are always great for mood, motivation, and sure to be crowd pleasers. CaFleureBon has introduced me to many of my “feel good” fragrances. My current feel good vanilla is Sel Vanille by Maison Tahite. SilencetheSea is a magical dream scent from StrangeLove NYC. Musc Tonkin is such a feel good scent! Manny Cross’s Chypre-Siam is meditative in the best forest bathing ways. Mandy Aftel’s Antique Ambergris takes me straight back to my maternal grandparents’ loving home. Maurice Roucel’s original formulation of 24 Faubourg by Hermes will always be The One for me and the ultimate feel good scent. ❤️ How lucky are we to live in a time of so much great fragrance art! There are so many more scents I could add to this list (and so many more to be discovered). Thank you CaFleureBon! If I were a lucky winner, I would be delighted to win: LostinFlowers by StrangeLove or Kajal Lamar. USA ❤️

ps – I learned from Ida’s article that “gardenia jasminoides (G.grandiflora) indeed possesses a similar compound to jasmines which mimics the effects of Valium without the 96-hour half-life and side effects,” it makes even more sense why LostinFlowers is number 1!!!

  • I believe in the healing powers of fragrance. For health reasons, I sometimes have long periods where I can only eat the plainest foods like rice, potatoes, chicken etc. I swear, perfume has been the biggest blessing in those times. The fragrances from Steven’s list all sound very cozy and comforting. Enigma is a masterpiece. My feel-good fragrance at the moment is probably Hermes Ambre Narguile. It makes me feel fantastic. From this list, I would love to win Strangelove Lostinflowers. It oozes luxury with those notes!

    I live in Denmark, EU.

  • Greg Graham Sr says:

Hello Steven and Cafleurebon, how are you? Happy new year to you and yours. All the Fragrances sound Awesome and Amazing. Nishane and Kajal are the two that have my interest. Fragrances make me feel good. Navitus Fragrances Aweigh is my feel good Fragrance now, followed by Rasasi Hawas. Stay safe and thank you.

  • Carl Milburn says:

I think Habdan by Parfums de Marley should win. Frankenscense and Myrrh are definitely notes that are feel good and calming. I enjoyed the video very much and definitely will be sampling from this list of excellent fragrances. Fragrances heal me and give me confidence to take on my day. Thank you.

  • As always, I so enjoyed Mr Gavrielatos’ in depth review and the way he can make any perfume sound like a ‘must try’. Two of the notes that are my ‘go to’ when I need to feel comforted are rose and vanilla. Though it’s a definite ‘cheapie’, one of my favorite scents is a shower gel by none other than Bath & Body Works in their aromatherapy line…’Love’ : it is rose and vanilla at its most simple best and using it for my shower most nights puts me in a tranquil frame of mind. Of course the scent fades away too quickly, allowing for another bedtime perfume, perhaps vintage YSL Paris, a favorite of mine.
Kajal Lamar with its rose, jasmine and vanilla sounds right up my alley so that would be my first choice to win but any of them sound lovely.
I am in the US…thank you to the generous providers of this giveaway, thank you to Cafleurbon for offering a bright start to each and every morning and Mr Gavrielatos for his sincere reviews.

  • I thought it was a very good list where is seemed I’d like to try most. I like vanilla fragrances as feel good types. If chosen I’d welcome the Habdan. US

  • Thank you for this article! I love that this reflects that there are many different ways to feel good and many different scents that evoke those feelings through scent – soap, vanilla, mint, chocolate… this is the healing power of scent – the ability to invoke feeling. My personal current feel-good scent is Frederic Malle’s Iris Poudre, and if I am lucky enough to win some fragrance I would love Kajal Lamar, and I am in Houston, TX

  • Jason Baker says:

Parfums de Marly Habdan, I thought Steve’s 10 review was very nice and a good list Habdan and Symphonium we’re my favorite my go to feel good is Carlisle or Dolce Amalfi and I’m in California,USA

  • I remember my mom wearing joy before dior bought the name. Roses and jasmine and I still have a bit left of a bottle I found at a yards sale
I was very interested in all the information about how different flowers can make us feel
    Lostinflowers
    Lamar
    These appeal to me
    Great video and super introduction

  • I love this list; after reading it, I’ve been trying to figure out whether feel-good scents are always easy to deal with, or whether strange and challenging scents can be feel-good too. Good perfume has had a healing (if not always calming) effect on me in general, but I think my most direct emotional uplift comes from nature-y scents: Slumberhouse Norne, Crosby Cadence, Jorum Athanaeum. I’d like to enter to win lostinflowers. I live in NY, USA. My instagram is @ohnogoaway.

  • I would love to win a bottle of Habdan. Great video from Steven as always, there were three new (to me) fragrances I learned about! I don’t have any one “go-to” fragrance to feel better, but I do enjoy looking through my collection and spraying what grabs me in the moment to lift my mood! Cheers!

  • If I win I’d like to have Lamar by Kajal. I liked the diversity in Steven’s list, some were fresh and some gourmand, while others were boozy. I love how a fragrance can lift your mood almost instantly, and my fragrance of choice for making me feel good is Kilian Angels’ Share because it is warm and cozy. I live in NY and I follow cafleurbon’s official page on Instagram (name is wrm_01).

  • My choice would be Corfu and I’m glad Steven is doing lists that are at least a little different than the typical, overdone lists we see everywhere on youtube. I don’t know about healing power, but certain perfumes can definitely improve your mood a little. My feelgood fragrance is Lira and I’m from the USA.

  • When I feel low I often turn to my perfume drawer and most often I go for Xerjoff Accento as it reminds me of my holliday destinations and beautiful memories. I noticed that Steven also choose his feel good perfumes based on what they remind him of. I guess rather than individual notes, this is the ultimate factor for the best fell good perfume for each of us.
From his list I would choose lostinflowers as I also have special feelings about jasmine coming out of my childhood memories.
    Lina, EU, Lithuania
    @linelle

  • Habdan sounds like it’s right up my ally for a comfort fragrance. Sounds very incense like.
Redolescence is my go-to reviewer. Straight to the point and Steven has the most articulated recommendations. Can’t go wrong.

  • LovelyMouse says:

It is true, and it is scientifically proven that certain aromatic compounds have sedative and soothing effects, such oils as basil, mint, lavender, frankincense. Therefore, it was very interesting for me to read Steven’s review and discover new soothing and stress-relieving perfumes. As for me, when I want to calm down I use Pure Essence Eau de Parfum No.1 Frankincense by Neal’s Yard Remedy or Haute Provence Cologne by Nicolaï with lavender and vanilla and the most recent and unusual discovery regarding to the calming effect is New York Intense by Fragrance Du Bois – such calming spices and woods perfectly blended together!
I would be honored and happy to win Strangelove NY or Kajal LAMAR!
    UK

  • Dorothee Teboul says:

Feel good fragrances seem essential to me at this time of year. Cheerful florals and warm cozy ambers are my go to. I’d love to win the Lost in Flowers by Strangelove Love NY. I live in France and my Instagram name is : dorotheeteboul

  • I definitely think that have healing or calming power, or are mood boosters since they often contain herbs used in medicine or aromatherapy. My feel good fragrance is Kedu from Memo Paris, fresh yet aromatic composition. Also Princess by Kilian with it’s round, marshmallowy scent, makes me feel cozy, warm and safe. There is great selection of perfumes by Steven. The Floraiku I’m Coming Home is a marvelous composition and the name itself, represent a calming thought. Corfu by Memo Paris is also one that I like. The whole idea behind Memo perfumes makes me feel good and happy. I’m a traveler and I’ve been in some countries that inspired their scents, so they bring me good memories. I’d like to win Lostinflowers by Strangelove NY. My instagram name is @agakawecka I live in Eu, Poland.

  • Ginandsniff says:

What a great list, something for everyone in there.

I don’t have a specific fragrance as such but love a deep lush floral for that sense of being outdoors, in nature/in the garden and feeling connected. For that reason my choice would have to be lostinflowers so many lovely notes in there.

I follow cafleurbon on Instagram and my name the is @ginandsniff

    I’m in the UK.

  • Journey from the self to the Self and find the mine of gold. Leave behind what is sour and bitter and move toward the sweet.”-RUMI Kajal Lamar is a very much a rose perfume; rose is known to bring harmony and warm feelings. Lamar is gilded in golden amber, and jasmine and vanilla add sensuality. I am intrigued by the notes in Lamar especially rose being one of my favourite notes in perfumery. If I am lucky to win I would love to win Kajal Lamar. I follow Cafleurebon official on Instagram my username is amnaaziz5296@gmail.com. Fragrances always lift my mood I don’t feel dressed if I am not wearing perfume. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • I would choose Lamar.
Steve’s list is interesting: most of his choices lean towards sweet, but so many different notes! I would love to test something with more lavender, that would be for me a ‘feel good’ fragrance; my current ‘feel good’ fragrance is Frapin 1270.
    I live in Romania, EU.

  • Trauma. Stress. Anxiety. Fear. Isolation. My feel good fragrance is Oajan just a delicious combination of cinnamon and apple an absolute warm and cozy fragrance. If I am successful I would love to win Kajal Lamar because of the boozy notes and rose. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • well, steven knocked it out of the park, as per usual! Great, great list, sadly I haven’t smelled some of the perfumes he mentioned – Roja, Lamar, Strangelove NYC and Naviglio. But nevertheless, the way he described them I have a feeling like I’ve tried them!

My feel good fragrance is, unusually, Jubilation XXV by Amouage. I just feel like the most important person on this planet when I wear it, it’s just beautiful, beautiful perfume!

I live in Croatia, EU and my Instagram is il.dolce.papi

  • interesting choices !!
Have ever heard Russian saying: “Where there is tea, there is paradise…”, but I love tea notes in perfumery!

Love Xerjoff Symphonium- amazing chocolate with light woods!
one of my last love is Roja Parfums Creation-E Pour Homme.

I would like to win: Memo Corfu, Strangelove NY lostinflowers, Kajal LAMAR or Habdan PdM.
    USA

  • Thank you for another great video and thoughtfully selected feel good fragrances! Thank you also for good words but I am getting more and more mad about those anticonstitutional decisions and dictates made by technocratic unelected psychos in this war with invisible enemy (and don’t say i need to censore myself for the benefit of good civil causes), it is true that only aromatheraphy and reading scientific books currently calm me down a bit. Currently my faves are Assam of India by Berdoues, Lavande Romaine by Perris MC and Waco Fiilit.

I live in the EU and would love to lost myself in flowers by winning lostinflowers Strangelove, thank you!

  • Steven’s list is a great mix something for everyone. I would love Lamar sounds beautiful uplifting Roses. The bottle is stunning. Thank you for this Chance. USA

  • It is interesting that Memo Corfu came up on both Michelyn’s and Steven’s lists. They seem to have different tastes, so this one must be great. I loved the personal reasons that Steven expressed for choosing some of these. My own ideas of what is a comfort scent are evolving. Definitely vanilla, with some light woody musk. Sounds like a weird combo when I type it out. Maybe not mixed together. At the moment my “feel good fragrance” is Synthetic Jungle. I love the burst of green at the beginning and all of the stages through drydown.

So, I would like to win either Corfu or lost inflowers. They both sound amazing.

    I am in the US.

  • Thanks for the list – nice choices as always! Enigma (or Creation-E) is wonderful, though sometimes it is a bit overbearing. The chocolate and orange combo in Symphonium is just delicious. The others I unfortunaly haven’t yet tried. I would love to take part and win Kajal Lamar. I live in Finland, EU. I follow cafleurbonoffical on Instagram and my instagram nick is juhah_

  • Great video by Steven
His choices are excellent although I am only familiar with symphonium, Naviglio fire at Will and Lamar which I saw on this blog video
The new year could use some great perfumes to make us feel better
So far a rocky start with the Omni
    I would love to win
    Lamar
    Lostinflowers
    Corfu

  • It’s interesting that these scents don’t carry a common note and are quite diverse. Per usual, I am so behind on sampling brands that I haven’t tried any of these. This is not the first time I’ve seen Lost In Flowers mentioned on Cafleurebon, and I am super interested in trying this one. Corfu also appeals, mainly because a trip to Italy sounds appealing right now. One of my feel good fragrances is Prada Iris Infusion because it is just so easy, you don’t have to think about it! I follow you on Instagram and my handle is TheFragrantJourney. Thank you for the draw. I am in the USA.

  • Anxiety, travel restrictions and isolation are really problems especially since I can’t see my family and friends who live in another parts of the country.
I love perfume because it makes me feel so much better.
    @irisjackola
Would like to win Corfu or Lamar

  • crispetasal says:

Hi. In his video, Steven describes exactly what perfumes have done to me during last year: they have comfort me! I survived the covid lockdowns by submerging myself in the perfume world… I love roses, so Lamar would be my choice. I live in Belgium. Thanks.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed Steven’s reviews, as always highly knowledgeable, and would love to win Kajal-Lamar, because it seems very feminine and luxurious. Just what I need during long work hours and minimal outdoors pursuits! Feel-good fragrances seem a bit tautological to me. Don’t we all wear fragrance to feel good? What does “feel good” mean exactly? Right now, I would assume that for most people “feeling good” means feeling safe and optimistic that this too shall pass. And perhaps something to remind us of the adventures and the pleasures that await us hopefully soon enough. As such, for me personally “Bombay Bling” by Neela Vermeire and “Nawab of Oufh” by Ormonde Jayne (I actually layer them for maximum effect) evoke a vast cornucopia of colours, flavours, flowers, spices, warmth and light. These are the most “feel good” fragrances I know of! Greetings from Greece!

  • Claumarchini says:

Thank you for the amazing selection, as usual I enjoyed very much both the article and Steven’s video (I like him so much with his glasses on! :D).
I have sampled only 2 of these wonderful selection (Fire at Will and Naviglio) and absolutely love them too. It is true that in these hard times gourmand scents and especially vanilla are able to soothe you and lift up your spirit: I was not a gourmand person at all, but I’m finding myself attracted over and over by sweet scents and especially enjoy vanilla-based fragrances. I would love to win Lamar because I have heard so much about it, I am a rose-addict and so I am very intrigued by it. I have been following @cafleurebonofficial since the beginning, my IG account is claumarchini. Greetings from Italy

  • I find gourmands to be the biggest feel-good scents, evoking the warmth of a dessert fresh out of the oven. Apple pie, chocolate chip cookies; though these aren’t my typical note choices for what to wear. I usually go more for warm vanilla and honey, though I also like the idea of a chamomile fragrance. I like how there were some of these types of fragrances chosen as well as fresher and more floral ones that can represent a cleansing or a renewal. Perfume helps me feel grounded when I feel anxious, so it’s not too surprising I go for comfort scents quite often. I would love to try Memo Corfu USA

  • These all sound amazing, that it’s kind of tough to pick one — but Strangelove NYC’s LostinFlowers is the most up my alley. It sounds beautiful!

  • Sandro Mateush says:

I think this is a very useful topic, many of us (perfume lovers) want a calm and relaxing scents sometimes. The selection turned out to be very interesting and diverse, thanks to Stephen and Michelyn for that. Me personally, when I want to relax I prefer fragrances with neroli, orange blossom and citruses notes. They’re calm and smooth.

Thank you guys for this wonderful article!

I’d like to win: Kajal Lamar

  • Great take on perfumes here – while I don’t know most of them I appreciate the work and thoughts which went into this!
Perfume is my main way of dealing with stress and emotional issues. Some bring me back in joyful mental settings, others encourage me to “do the work”, and others simply help me falls asleep or quieting the busy mind.

In case I win I would like to get the lostinflowers – bottle from Strangelove NY
    Living in Germany, EU

  • Absolutely, for me also, tea and incense notes are very calming. One of my favs is Rose Infernale by Terry de Gunzburg. I enjoyed the fragrances reviewed and appreciate the insight. My choices, if lucky: Habdan, Lamar, Corfu. Mich USA @mary_luvs_flwrs

  • Kudos Micheyn and Steven! This is a lovely list of “feel good fragrances.” Michelyn you took some time to research and your editorial with each fragrance was accurate and informative.
Steven you always do such a fabulous job on your descriptions and your presentation is on point. I have many feel good fragrances and I usually choose my fragrance either to fit my mood or enhance my mood. Three of my main go-to choices are Mito, Rubj, by Vero Kern and Migration de L’Arbre by Senoko. I am in the US and my choice is Lostinflowers.

  • Thank you Steven for another well thought out list. I half expected you to mention Carlos – BFL as you no doubt shared cherished memories. On my fragrance journey so far, my absolute feel-good fragrance is Tom Ford Metallique that I’ve loved from the first time I sniffed it. The fragrances in this list all sound beautiful but the ones that caught my attention most are:-

    1. Strangelove NY – lostinflowers
    2. Memo Corfu

I’m in USA and following on instagram as @sngashig

  • My most calming fragrances are everything with frankincense or myrrh (I would definitely search for Marly Habdan). Unconsciously connected to almost religious rituals, maybe. But it’s quite interesting that there are so many options that can be calming for different people. Personally, I don’t find lavender so calming, but this ingredient we can find so often in the products that meant to relax… I would love to win Kajal Lamar. I’m in France, Europe.

  • As always, loved Steven’s video review of these ten fragrances. The healing power of perfumes is well documented – and anyone who has tried perfumes can attest to it. Robert Tisserand and others talks about the benefits of aromatherapy in their books. Lavender, chamomile, etc, are relaxing; sandalwood/myrrh/frankincense/oud have been used for hundreds of years in temples for meditation and to calm one’s mind. My feel good perfumes would be Sartorial, Antaeus, Levantium, Drakkar Noir, Oscar de La Renta Pour Lui, and many more. Thank you for a generous draw and reviews. I am a Redolessence subscriber and enjoy Steven’s reviews. If I were to win this draw, based on Steven’s review, I would choose Parfums de Marly Habdan. I am from USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s video and choices. I liked that he explained what each fragrance makes him feel be it meditative, calm, fond memories of Greece, etc. Such a variety of different perfumes as well. I certainly do feel perfume can help with my mood. A fragrance I have that for me is both calming and meditative is Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme. I feel good wearing Grand Soir as well and one I feel is a happy kinda fragrance for me is Gallivant Los Angeles. I would be happy to win any of the prizes on offer, but would most like to win;
    1. Lost in Flowers
    2. Lamar
Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA. Following on insta from @goldenish19

  • My choice is Roja Parfums Creation-E Pour Homme. Steven’s top ten feel good fragrances have a lot of florals which I am not used to and don’t have much of. The healing power of perfume is definitely a thing and puts me in a better mood when I smell certain fragrances. My feel good fragrance is either JMP le male because it was one of the first colognes I remember my father getting me when I was young. I live in the United States. my ig is _hoangkong_

  • LostinFlowers sounds exactly like what I have been craving to brighten my senses and leave an aroma of joy with those around me. Of all of Steven’s recommendations, I have only smelled Floraiku’s Coming Home, and I agree that it is a lively and uplifting scent, but I lean more towards florals than citrus when I like for uplifting my personal mood. I have a few sprays left of Annick Goutal’s Rose Absolute that unfailingly bring me the memory of burying my nose in a rose garden! Thank you for this wonderful article. Such truth that scent can impact our mood…

  • I enjoyed hearing about Steven’s top picks for mood-boosting and reliving pleasant memories of years past. It was interesting to hear that he grew up in Greece. No wonder he had such a nostalgic feeling toward Corfu! I remember reading a review of Kajal on CaFleureBon a few months ago and ever since I have been enamored by the bottle and more importantly the notes. My feel-good fragrance would have to be Moonlit Reverie by Sultan Pasha. Its beauty literally brought me to tears upon my first sniff of it. Sultan Pasha’s attars are the only fragrances that have ever caused me to have this reaction.
If I may only enter for one, I choose Corfu. If I may enter multiple draws, I choose:
    1. Corfu
    2. Lamar
    3. Habdan
    4. Lostinflowers
Indiana, USA. I am a follower of the instagram page and for privacy’s sake, I will provide my username upon request. Thanks for the incredibly generous, indulgent draw! I know these fragrances will do much to lift the spirits of their winners 🙂

  • A feel good fragrance for me is calming with tea notes or resins like frankincense or myrrh. Wearing a calming fragrance reminds me to center myself and curb anxious or detrimental feelings. Scent is such a powerful motivator. As always, Steven has compiled a compelling list. Floraiku I Am Coming Home is the only one I’ve tried. I would love to win any of the following in descending order: strangelove lostinflowers, Memo Corfu, Kajal Lamar. MD, USA.

  • wandering_nose says:

I love Steven’s videos! Been his follower for a good while as I find his content very insightful, concise and delivered just masterfully. This feel good list is absolutely captivating – versatile, inclusive and consisting of simply beautiful fragrances. I am looking forward to trying Fire at Will, Lamar, Ege, Habdan and Corfu. Strangelove NYC sounds truly incredible, I would love to be able to sample their creations. I totally am an advocate of the healing power of perfume – I have experienced the meditative and transcendental effects of patchouli, calming qualities of lavender and vanilla and the optimism brought about by citrus fragrances. These days I crave perfumes as mood lifters and cannot imagine living without fragrances around me. Very grateful for my sense of smell! My feel good fragrances are Reminiscence Patchouli, Prada Amber, and By the Fireplace from MMM. I would be very happy to win Kajal LAMAR. I follow Cafleurebonofficial under the name _cathy_reilly_. Thank you from the Republic of Ireland, EU

  • Thanks for the introduction Mchelyn. You are 100% right in saying that the last 2 years have been unlike anything else I’ve experienced. Let’s hope we all go back to ‘normality’ soon.

It was great to hear which fragrances make Steven feel good. I feel like his choices often reflect mine so I will definitely check out some of the recommendations that he has made.
Lamar’s sweetness and LostInFlowers’ florals really piqued my internest and could really put me in a happy place.

My “feel good fragrance” seems to be Boss Bottled Intense. There is something about an Apple Pie with Cinnamon scent that puts me in a comfort zone. Last year was rather stressful, but a spritz of BBI instantly calmed me down and helped me clear my head.

I would love to win one of Moe’s bottles of the amazing Kajal Lamar!
My handle is ronaldjapenga and I’ve been a loyal followed of the new CafleureBonOfficial account.

  • Sunny Shelley says:

I would love to have a sample od Parfum de Marly Habdan. The scent sounds phenomenal but not sure how it would smell on me or if it would give me a headache.

  • Steven always cultivates excellent lists and this one is no different. I have had the pleasure of sampling and owning a number on this list and can certainly attest to their abilities to make one “feel good”. Out of those listed, Kajal’s Lamar does this the best for me (and would therefore be my choice should I be selected). It is also my favorite fragrance from the house out of those that I have tried. Currently hoarding the rest of my 10 mL decant to enjoy throughout the Springtime. For myself, my favorite “feel good” fragrances would have to be Acqua di Gio Pour Homme and YSL La Nuit de L’homme. They are my favorite anytime fragrances, can INSTANTLY put me into a positive mood and mindset, and my wife absolutely adores them on me. Thanks, as always, for the opportunity and cheers from Illinois!

  • I am curios about Kajal Lamar as I have never tried anything from this house and this perfume sounds fun.
    Thanks. Eu

  • Steven has such a great collection and I really enjoyed his top 10 feel good scents. My feel good scent is Shiseido Energizing Fragrance. It is such an uplifting fragrance. It just makes me feel happy whenever I wear it.
I would love to win Parfums de Marly Habdan.
    I live in the USA.

  • Courtney Palmer says:

I’d love to win roja creation e. Steven with a great list as always. He put a few fragrances on my radar that I’ve never seen. My feel good frag is. Elysium!

  • I like Steven’s reviews and Ch Laudamiel is one of my favourite perfumers. I would like to get a bottle Lost in Flowers and I am in EU

  • My choice is Lamar.
Love Steven’s choices and how everyone connects different perfumes to different feelings as I have 2 of the mentioned, but I don’t feel the same about them.
My feel-good fragrance ic Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. I’m from Croatia and following as @dazi83.

  • I loved the video and my feel good fragrance is Davidoff cool water. My choice is Habdan and I am in Canada.

  • ThePinkPigeon says:

I’m searching for an incense scent that’s not sandalwood and it seems like PDM’s Habdan may be it. But I’d be happy with any of them. Seeing Floraiku on any list is a delight. I’m in the U.S.

  • No doubt interesting topic
I know 9/10 of the Feel Good fragrances , and as usual I’ll share my thoughts
    1. I’m well familiar with Memo Paris, the older brother , still One Umbrella for Two is the only Floraiku I’ve smelled, spring , early summer rainy weather fragrance. Both with Floraiku I Am Coming Home i think are Feel Good scents.
    2. Milano Fragranze Naviglio
    Fresh and soapy
    3. Fire At Will is seductive, but refined gourmand , with high quality vanilla, brown sugar , mimosa .
    4. Symphonium i think it’s photorealistic gourmand , no doubt made exceptionally well. It’s Xerjoff we’re talking about. To me the fragrance truly smells like you’re sitting in some super fancy Italian coffee shop/bakery and you’re enjoying the smell of your €40/$50 chocolate and orange dessert in front of you.
    5. EGE/AIГAIO is well done green aquatic , with pleasing Mastic undertones.
    6. Roja Parfums Creation-E Pour Homme
    Masterpiece of a fragrance
    7. I had high expectations for Lamar from the very beginning, juicy fruity ambery gourmand , the best Kajal in my opinion.
    8. Corfu i believe is clean fragrance, green, spicy fruity and aromatic
    9. Parfums de Marly Habdan

    “Notes: Amber, incense, oppoponox, rose”

Whiteout even looking at Parfums de Marly website, I’m 100% certain that’s not the full list of notes. Habdan is my favorite Parfums de Marly, and I can clearly smell the green apple, woods, caramel and saffron.
My opinion of Habdan is diametrically opposing , to what Steven is getting , that of course is normal, different perception, and body chemistry i guess.
Yes the fragrance needs more recognition, but to me Habdan is not
    a) Incense based fragrance . Yes there’s Incense, but more in the background
    b) Nothing is the whole composition reminds me of chamomile, even traces of it.
    c) Gentle??? With 1/2 spray maybe , but to me Habdan is rich, and thick amber fragrance, with lots of resins, green apples, caramel, saffron and woods. The rose , and Incense are also present, but not as main players on the field, more of a supportive once.
I absolutely love reading such reviews, when someone else has such a different opinion about a fragrance I know.

    10. Strangelove NYC Lost In Flowers , opening is a bit too much white flowers for my taste, but wait for it ~20min to settle down, the beauty is in the base. It’s woody and I don’t know why but I get tobacco leaves too.
I’m a strict teetotaller, and also die hard extrovert, but when I’m not in a good mood, I usually go for boozy , of coffee fragrances.
I can’t exactly pinpoint my “feel good fragrance” , but Plum Japonais Tom Ford, Kiste Slumberhouse, and Intoxicated Kilian always make me feel better.
I’d like to get Parfums de Marly Habdan
All profiles I already follow , my IG is @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • I loved Stevens list. He always knows how to express fragrances and how they make you feel on point. To me, fragrances have a very healing power because they make me feel so relaxed. From Stevens list I love Nishane Ege, it is so calm and relaxing to smell it after a long day. A Feel Good Fragrance for me would be Cartier Declaration Dun Soir.
I would love to win Parfums de Marly Habdum
    I live in the U.S.

Thank you for the great review Steven and Michelyn.

I really loved this collection, especially Floraiku I am Coming Home, StrangeLove NYC Lost in Flowers, Memo Corfu and Nishane Ege.

I love Floraiku’s presentation. They are one of the few brands that has such a fantastic design aesthetic, especially with the caps. They tell so much of the fragrances story. I also love the scent of tea – it’s uplifiting, cozy and tranqil.

I remember reading the review of Nishane Ege and it was such a beautiful sounding citrus herbal fragrance. All the more so because I love cardamom, I would love to get my nose on this.

I’m a huge fan of Chris Laudmiel and love his IG posts. I find him to be quite the trailblazer, both in terms of his scents and his opinion on the industry and his passion to educate consumers. I love the play of florals in this scent and the gentle interjection of oud. Jasmine especially is a favourite of mine because it takes me back to childhood memories of picking jasmine flowers as a child in our ancestral gardens.

Memo is a house that I’ve been following. They have interesting scent concepts based on places and I love the way that they translate them into a perfume. I would love to experience some of your memories from your time in Greece.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Steven always has great top selections, but I haven’t tried any of the mentioned. I believe Xerjoff Symphonium would suit me the most because chocolate is my feel good food and I believe it would be my feel good fragrance too!
Usually gourmet fragrances remind me of peace, safety and the loving feeling of home, so my favorite so far is Manila Grace Fleur narcotique that smells like Christmas cookies with it’s notes of plum, tonka and ginger. Every time I smell it, I automatically start smiling….
I’d love to try Kajal Lamar.
I’m @skin.on.me on IG and sending hugs from EU.

  • Great video and love every description
I have tried a sample of lostinflowers and love it
I would like to win that or the Marly Habdan
I gravitate to vanilla and white florals

  • IvanVelikov says:

Getting stressed won’t do anyone good. Lavender is one of my favorite notes, but doesn’t feel meditative to me , but uplifting and energetic.
My meditative notes are incense, rose , fig , and vetiver .
Floraïku I am coming Home I believe is not overly complex , but well executed tea fragrance .I could be wrong, but I think all Floraïku share the same approach.
Milano Fragranze Naviglio will suit me well for the summer. Fresh , Italian Cologne is what every man should have.
Fire At Will i think is sweet , playful, entertaining, and suitable for a bar fragrance
Xerjoff Symphonium is so good, I’ve smelled it a couple of times. Ideally balanced crunchy chocolate toffee , cozy orange , two varieties of agarwood in the base .
Nishane EGE/AIГAIO fresh, minty and marine fragrance .
    Roja Dove Creation-E Pour Homme
One of the best boozy fragrance ever
Lamar I’m interested , maybe it’s because I haven’t tried it, I’m not sure. The pineapple, cranberries, rose and amber are so attractive.
Corfu by MEMO Paris I think we have sating the senses Mediterranean floral-fruity fragrance.
    Parfums de Marly Habdan
Habdan starts kind of fresh, but in the base is powerful and opulent gourmand . Uplifting fragrance, but not meditative . That’s how I feel about it.
Tango Masque Milano , Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme, Creed Royal Oud and Nasomatto Pardon are meditative , or uplifting
    My choice is Habdan
    Thank you Steven,and Michelyn

With so much stress and big life-changing decisions to make, being a fresh graduate is so frightening and overwhelming.
Luckily!, there are these masterpieces of perfumes that can make me feel at ease. Now I know why vanilla is my favorite note/ scent, it brings peace and calmness to my overthinking mind. Its like stress eating, but with gourmands.
I learned a lot with Steven’s top 10, at the same time, it makes me crave these perfumes. I was really caught by Jovoy Fire at will and Memo Paris Corfu due to its story and the way Steven describes the experience.
I would love to win Memo Corfu to experience Greece and a different kind of euphoria given to me by vanilla.
Thanks a lot to these brands and contributors for making us feel good and smell good. <3
    Cheers from USA

  • Amazing review Steven, as always! I love how you put several perfumes together into perspective. My feelgood fragrance would be something like Profumum Roma Ambra aurea, a comfort scent.
I would like to win Kajal Lamar.
    I’m in EU

  • Thanks for compiling an interesting list of feel good fragrances. My favorite part of trying new fragrances is the excitement that I might discover a new love. I need hope for 2022 so my choice is LostinFlowers.

  • Stevens list was great as usual! Very diverse and not just contained to one type of scent so I liked that. I always enjoy learning about fragrances I wouldn’t typically consider testing. Also he included a few that I own and love, he did great with the descriptions of them. My favorite feel good fragrance is probably a tie betwee Guerlain’s Spirituese Double Vanille and Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille. I’m a big vanilla fan and these are not overly bakery vanilla and so comforting to me.
If I am picked as a winner I would choose Parfums Dr Marly Habdan.

  • Bryant Worley says:

The fragrance that I’d like to win is Habdan, as I like incense in fragrances.

As for Steven’s top ten, they were excellent, as they all fit the ‘relaxing and comforting’ theme, especially the tea-based and floral-based ones. Everyone knows that having a ‘spot of tea’ was meant to relax.

Do I think perfume has a healing power? Hmmmmm…..only if “healing” includes making you smile. For example, Grand Soir always puts me in a good frame of mind.

I know I just spoke about Grand Soir, but my ‘feel good’ fragrance is Jacques Fath Pour L’Homme. It will always be one of my favorite fragrances to smell.

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

Mmmm I LOVE all of these but I think I would LOVE to win LostInFlowers by Strangelove NY. I think that Steven has made a great top. I find all this perfumes very calming, relaxing and interesting. My top calming perfume is lavendelus by April Aromatics because makes me feel on Heaven. Perfume has a Big healing poder, It can chance my feelings in minutes!!

I am writing from Tenerife, Spain EU and my IG is @parfum_sindromico.

  • This is a perfectly crafted and diverse list. My go-to calming scents that have a positive impact on my mood are vanilla and amber, so I am really intrigued by Kajal Lamar and Jovoy Paris Fire At Will. Since I love Greece and miss visiting it, I am planning to sample Memo Corfu in 2022.
I believe that perfumes are mood boosters and hold transformative and healing properties. My current feel-good fragrance is Delina by Parfums de Marly.
If I should win, I’d choose Kajal Lamar. Appreciate the giveaway opportunity!

  • What a great list! I have not had a chance to same any of these listed fragrances, but I will say I love Strangelove NY! I have not tried Lostinflowers but that would definitely be my pick based on other fragrances I have sampled from this house. My Instagram handle is kdrawdy77 and I am following. I’m in the US.

  • John Loukidis says:

Another very imformative video from Stephen, great fragrances as well. Perfume indeed works with such a healing way to the soul and senses, very essential to the stressful way of modern life. A quite ‘feel good’ scent for me is Elysium Parfum Cologne by Roja Parfums and my choice would be Lamar by Kajal, the liquid gold 🙂
I live in Athens, Greece (EU).
    @johnny_lk

  • Yeah … that’s why I adore fragrances because they always transfer my mode to the best, especially those uplifting ones. As Steven said about his gorgeous collection, each one has a special character. In the past, It is well known that fragrances were used in all important and worshiping events and ceremonies because they give a nice mode. Recently, it is scientifically proven that some fragrances have a healing power even for some elusive diseases like cancer, in addition, to sharpen the mindset. Anyway, I’m sure that owning any of these choices is enough to create a majestic atmosphere. I’m so interested in living the joy with Habdan or Corfu. I am in the US.

  • Michelyn .. you are so right, those two pandemic years are lost from our ages and the lockdown memories truly need something uplifting from the wonderful world of perfumes. Wearing a nice fragrance is one of my protocols to feel good and I have some for that 😉 Steven talked about new releases so I did not have the chance to try any of them. To me, Lamar or lost in flowers are the best of the best and I hope to win any of them. Warm Regards, I’m in US

  • I love Elysium from Roja, so when I heard Steven gets transported it reminded me of that perfume. I would love a chance to win!

  • This list was interesting- I’d agree with a some and disagree with others. I love the Floraiku pick- connecting the tea note to serenity. My current feel-good fragrance is Soleil de Jeddah by Stephane Humbert Lucas. That opening blast of sun-baked chamomile is completely addicting and makes me nearly giddy with happiness. My choice would be lostinflowers.

  • I would love to win the Lamar as I have smelled it on a co-worker and love the fragrance. Steven is completely on point (as usual) and I love the way that he talks about Symphonium as I have a very small decant to that that I use for special occasions since as he says it is the best chocolate fragrance ever made. For me, fragrance has a huge impact on my day and even the quality of sleep I get at night. I strongly believe that the right fragrance can set the mood for anything you encounter. My current feel good fragrance is Libre. I feel that it helps calm my anxiety and takes me into meetings with a sense of confidence.

  • Such a diverse group of fragrances, nothing one dimensional.
Milano Fragranze Naviglio for the rare occasions when I have to wear a suit.
Fire At Will checks all the boxes, e classical Almond Flour Vanilla Cake , with toasted Brown sugar , and Raw almonds on top , cake every up-and-coming Pastry Chef is learning how to make during the training process.
Xerjoff Symphonium reminded me of making , and eating Orange Chocolate Cake , with cardamom and slightly candied orange slices on top of it. It’s almost as good as Italica .
EGE/AIГAIO reminded me, of me making and eating Basil Mint Cake with walnuts , and drinking lime juice.
When i think about Creation-E, i imagine hard to get invited into , old private gentleman’s club , with cognac and tobacco smell lingering all over it.
Lamar, the best Kajal in my opinion, smells like sitting next to Vanilla Cake with Strawberries and Pineapple , I do it almost every day at my bakery , and bouquet of roses.
Parfums de Marly Habdan , I have to admit I’m not on the same page with Michelyn and Steven. Habdan to my nose smells like ever slightly burned freshly-made caramelized Granny Smith apples, covered with crushed peanut topping on tray .
Being a Pastry Chef my tranquility notes are all gourmandish .
Xerjoff Italica, Dior Fève Délicieuse , Shay & Blue London Salt Caramel are my late feel good fragrances, I’m rotating lately.
I’d like to win a bottle of Parfums de Marly Habdan
Appreciate Steven and Michelyn Feel Good Fragrances collaboration, and the giveaway campaign

  • I’ve noticed that, sometimes, my favorite fragrances can help me feel good, especially when I wear them when I’m about to lay down to relax or sleep. Some of the fragrances which I use which might help me to feel good are: Calvin Klein “Euphoria Amber Gold for Men EDP”, Source Adage “Monto’ac” and “C’i’ann”, Milano Fragranze “Basilica”, Perfumology “Grange”, “Costume National Homme Parfum”, and more. I found Steven’s list of fragrances to be good ideas for fragrances for me to become familiar with (from that list I’ve only tried the Roja Parfums and the Milano Fragranze). If I win the draw, then I would choose (in this order): Parfums de Marly “Habdan”, Memo “Corfu”, Kajal “Lamar”, and then Strangelove NY “lostinflowers”. I live in the U.S.A. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. I follow CaFleureBon’s Instagram page- my handle is: @regismonkton

  • That’s what I call premium list of fragrances
Fire At Will is right up my alley ,sweet, flirtatious and provocative.
Xerjoff Symphonium is not one dimensional chocolate gourmand, there’s also orange , cardamom , and oud . Posh fragrance at its best. I need such fragrance in my collection.
Ege Nishane is well made Mediterranean fragrance.
Roja Parfums Creation-E smells so expensive.
Kajal Lamar surprised me when I’ve sampled it. Juicy floral-fruity, with gourmand base . I don’t know why, but I smell marigolds in Lamar.
I never had the pleasure of smelling Parfums de Marly Habdan , I know it’s part of the same line with Oajan. It sounds less sweeter, more meditative than Oajan, with higher level of uniqueness , because of the marigolds. I would love to win Habdan.
Vintage Opium Pour Homme Eau de Parfum Yves Saint Laurent makes me happy, every time I wear it.
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • I really like the “Feel Good Fragrances” topic , thank you Michelyn
Most appealing to me, from Steven serenity fragrances are:
Jovoy Fire at Will -> When rich, sweet and delightful fragrance meets super seductive potion , then Fire At Will comes to play. Jovoy please come to the US market
Xerjoff Symphonium -> I actually smelled it when it was was still a limited edition for Fortnum&Mason , high end department store in London. I remember the smell being really sweet , mix of chocolate pot , and Cointreau – famous French Orange Liquor , and ever slightly funky oud in the base. It surprised me that Steven and Michelyn do not perceive the booziness. As far as my memory serves me, Symphonium was also powdery.
Roja Dove -> Enigma Pour Homme = Cognac Rémy Martin XO , vanilla, and lots of tobacco
Kajal Lamar -> Voluptuous rose , and blast of fruits and amber
Parfums de Marly Habdan-> Up until now, I’ve never heard anyone calling it soothing and gentle. On the contrary I think Habdan is dense, opulent.
There’s a phrase Nicoleta used a few days ago, word by word stuck in my mind “when you want to be with your mates , drink in pubs , and be a deliciously irresponsible ,and naughty grown up, this is your safest choice ” I could easily relate Nicoleta words to Habdan.
Rose , patchouli, chocolate , rum , whiskey, wine i crave the most right when I’m stressed. There’s a reason Tom Ford Noir de Noir was my fragrance for New Years Eve , by the way for 12 years in a row .
    I would prefer Habdan

  • I love the diversity of fragrance families in Steven’s list. My feel-good scents usually lean gourmand — Spiritueuse Double Vanille has been hitting the spot lately. If I’m lucky enough to win a bottle, Corfu would be my first choice. I live in the USA.

  • If I would be so lucky to win I would choose Kajal Lamar, I’ve had my eye on that one for a while now and am dying to try it out. My favorite feel good fragrance right now is Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac, every time I smell it a calm comes over me and I stop to just enjoy the well blended heavenly goodness. Habdan from PdM is another favorite during these colder months.
Fragrances are definitely a mood enhancer but sometimes also a comfort in harder times, I think the healing power comes from that we focus on something that’s happening right here right now when we smell a fragrance, it takes us out of our perhaps stressed or anxious thoughts and gives us a well needed break from the noice of the mind.

I live in Sweden and I also follow cafleurebon on Instagram, @alexisabelin.

  • 2021 was not an easy year for all of us, for some , like Michelyn said because of fear, stress, emotional losses, for others because of financial difficulties, gas prices skyrocketing, and so on.
Whatever you all nice people on Cafleurebon went through last year, both contributors and subscribers, I’d like to wish all of you well , 2022 will be better, I know it.
Les Jeux Sont Faits is my favorite Jovoy. Underrated tobacco and rum gem I’ll never get tired of. Fire At Will sounds phenomenal.
I remember Steven calling Symphonium “One of the best,if not the best chocolate fragrance on the market”… Fragrance with a character, that has a lot of layers, orange, Belgian chocolate , and two different oud varieties.Top chocolate gourmand . Something to be expected of all Xerjoff gourmands of course.
Ege , minty aquatic reminiscent of Ouzo , you just can’t go wrong with.
Roja Dove Creation-E , Roja Dove is literally the epitome the niche, and high end perfumery.
Kajal Lamar , I know Joorie, because my sister in law owns it, but that’s the only Kajal scent I know. Rose ,vanilla and fruits i like.
Memo Paris Korfu. Summer where are you?
Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly , but Delina Exclusif is breathing in Oajan neck all the time. Both are staples for me.
Habdan i don’t know, but incense, resins and rose is my kind of fragrance, and the one that I’d like to win.
Cape Heartache Imaginary Authors and Oud Ispahan Dior are my go-to moody , and healing perfums .
    Thanks for the draw

I love Steven’s top 10 feel good fragrance list. There are so many different olfactory notes that can make us feel at peace, lift our spirits, to reduce stress, or bring comfort notes such as citrus notes, lavender, rosemary, chamomile, incense, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, and clove are a few notes that do it for me. Steven has incorporated a lot of fragrances with these notes. There is no doubt that there is a healing power to fragrances and essential oils that can help put you in a better state of mind. Throughout history civilizations have been doing just that. My feel good fragrance is Nishane Wulong Cha. I am from Ohio, USA. I am following Cafleurebon on Instagram my Insta name is: michaelprincefragrance If I should win I would choose Parfums De Marley Habdan.

  • I would love to win a bottle of Habdan. Great video from Steven as always, there were three new (to me) fragrances I learned about! I don’t have any one “go-to” fragrance to feel better, but I do enjoy looking through my collection and spraying what grabs me in the moment to lift my mood! Cheers!

Fantastic list, video, and article. I do believe in using fragrance to heal my mood, especially on overcast days. Habit Rouge by Guerlain is my choice for this. From this list, I choose Habdan. I live in Miami and my Instagram is anti0grav.

Thank you for your wonderful content.

  • Steven’s list of is of the top including floral iris-based perfumes. These quality fragrances can twist anyone’s day as if it was a spray removing any negative feeling. I gotta say I have been introduced to a perfume with similar florals as Dior Eau Sauvage. So good that anything feels luxurious with its touch, which makes me long for this one and that’s why it is my choice. US

Steven is a beast I wish i had a smell and knowlegde about scents he has… maybe someday if I watch him long enoughy 🙂 Kajal LAMAR has one of the most beaufiful bottle I’ve ever seen and I would be extremely happy to win this and glow my small city in Poland with it! PS Seve – I love a t-shirt!

  • Stephen’s list is amazing as always, consisting of great fragrances many which are new to me which are good to learn more about. I think perfumes can have healing powers and insert a sense of comfort, warmth, confidence into one’s day which has positive lingering affects. My feel good fragrance at the moment is Mancera Cedrat Boise, and should I win I hope to receive Kajal Lamar to have as a new feel good! I live in the U.S.

Wonderful review Steven! I thought Steven’s choices all sound so great for lifting the spirits and calming the soul, and I love how all his choices are all different roads to happiness. He didn’t just pick fragrances that are citrussy and thus uplifting, or just rich warm fragrances like vanilla or chocolate, but rather those, as well as fragrances that specifically bring to mind a happy memory or place or occasion. I think it’s great that they are not all one genre of fragrance, so you can take Stephen’s recommendations and find a perfect “feel good fragrance” for any occasion or weather! I was particularly intrigued by his number one choice of LostinFlowers which boosts and enhances mood and reduces depression with the indoles in jasmine and gardenia. Indolic fragrances aren’t ones that most people think of when they think “feel good” fragrances, but it certain is a mood booster for me!

I definitely believe that perfumes can help your mindset and your mood, which can in turn help with healing. My “feel good fragrance” is Amouage Gold, as it makes me feel like the best version of myself – rich, luxurious, powerful, and deep. It fills my spirit as well as my nose and gives me unbelievable confidence. And of course it has a hefty dose of indolic jasmine!

If I were to win, my first choice would be the PdM Habdan as this is a house I would like to explore more. Of course, I’d be happy to win any of the fragrances, and my preferences after the PMD Habdan would be for the Strangelove FallintoFlowers, Kajal Lamar, and Memo Coru in that order. I am following the new Instagram page @cafleurebonoffical and my handle is momo.liu.121 and I live in the US.

  • Loved the article and Steven’s selections of his top 10 feel good fragrances! Really enjoyed hearing Steven’s personal memories and connections to the fragrances. I know fragrances can impact and effect my mood especially during these times. Notes like chamomile, lavender and vanilla have a calming effect on me. Citrus and fruity notes brighten my mood. Jasmine and rose are uplifting to me as they remind me of my childhood. My feel good fragrances at the moment are Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry and Elysium by Roja. My pick would be Corfu by Memo. Thank you for the giveaway. USA

  • Elevating and otherwise changing my moods is a big part of why I got into perfume. It’s super-valuable to me to hear what you experts recommend! I haven’t smelled any of these recommendations, but will be seeking all of them out to try now. Many scents have helped me with my moods, but off the top of my head, I’d single out 1969 from Histoires de Parfum, Hamsa by Olympic Orchids, and Jasmin Et Cigarette by ELDO. I’d be happy to win any of the prizes, but think I would most prefer Memo Corfu. I follow on Instagram as @mronhubbard.

  • This is exactly the right time for these fragrances and so many are already on my short list. I am very interested in and really appreciate both Michelyn’s and Steven’s descriptions. My newer self care feel good favorite is Amouage Portrayal. I would love to try all four but would choose Kajal Lamar. Thanks as always! @frw60

Really enjoy getting a breakdown and description of these fragrances. I’m somewhat sad and because of my financial means I cannot afford them LOL. Any addition to my collection out of these would be wonderful as being a winner would be the only way I would have pain one but if I don’t I still enjoy reading and understanding fragrances. I want to say thank you to Stephen for the great work he does and delivering to me information about fragrances and fragrance makers. If I had to choose it would be Parfums de Marly Habdan

  • Scents can change a lot about how you feel. I already have Habdan and love it. It’s a fall soother for me. I’d like to win Lamar.

  • I absolutely love this review and yes I love the house of parfum de marly i only own one bottle from the house and i can’t wait to experience more
