Xerjoff Symphonium Review (Chris Maurice) 2021+ Irresistible Chocolate Draw

Xerjoff Symphonium review

Xerjoff Symphonium by Michelyn

What makes chocolate so appealing in fragrance? And how photo-realistic do you want your perfume to be… after all NO ONE wants to smell like a candy bar. Which brings me to Xerjoff Symphonium, one of my favorites, with citrus and juicy mandarin notes, spiced just right with hints of sweet woody cardamom and seductive musky finish.  Xerjoff Symphonium is definitely a gourmand, but not cloying; the olfactive equivalent of dark chocolate surrounding an orange creamy center, wrapped in the most delectable vanilla. Some of the earthy qualities of the chocolate accord itself, as well as the anchoring oud from Laos and Thai keep the fragrance from veering into something too candy-like to wear. Complex, with great longevity and sillage, Xerjoff Symphonium is simply Irresistible and one of the best chocolate fragrances I have smelt.Michelyn Camen, Editor-In-Chief

Notes: Spanish Mandarin, Orange, Indian Cardamom, Belgian Chocolate, Musk, Vanilla Madagascar & Mix of Laos Thai Oud

  • John Burton says:

Steven is a “master” reviewer ! He explains everything in great detail. He is honest and sincere always.
I am really enjoying chocolate scents and want to explore more of them, especially a brilliant house such as Xerjoff.
Thanks for this awesome giveaway !!

  • John Tholany says:

I think sometimes it’s easy to discount a scent as just being the first thing we smell and while this scent does seem to be like that at a glance, there is a certain sense of depth that I have yet to experience that I would love to if given the opportunity!

  • joshuabrian says:

Steven is the best reviewer on YouTube for sure. He’s awesome. This fragrance sounds sooooo good. Almost making my mouth water reading about it. Thanks for the draw. From Indianapolis, Indiana

  • Erick Jurado says:

I love the way Steven talk fragance, you can notice when he gets excited by one and this time the way he describes it “The best chocolate fragance” sounds amazing.

  • Kevin Vargas Pedraza says:

I love how he describes the best chocolate fragrance out there. I would love to try, since I love Chocolate notes.

  • steven is by far my favorite fragrance reviewer and the one who’s sold me on a handful of perfumes. his description on this scent has me weak and i’ve been looking to try a chocolate scent for a while! xx

  • Michelyn says Xerjoff Symphonium is not overpowering gourmand, also thanks to the inclusion of Laotian Oud. Stephen also refers to the same points that Laotian Oud is one of the friendly ouds. Stephen calls Xerjoff Symphonium as one of the top 3 chocolate fragrances he own, possibly number one in his collection. I have not tried many chocolate fragrances so I am inexperienced in this area. I am in US.

  • scentastic27 says:

Very descriptive introduction by Michelyn and as always a masterful review from steven, i love gourmands and i would love to own this bottle on day, thx for the giveaway.

  • chorteBoy512 says:

  • Alexis Diaz says:

I’m excited to experience this scent. Great YT video. I loved that you said that it doesn’t open up as powdery and its very long lasting. Gotta try this. Thanks in advance.

  • I’m subbie to Steven’s Channel on YouTube and always enjoy his reviews because he keeps it real. Provides in depth honest reviews. His taste in fragrance and mine align so that helps as well. This sounds divine and so very delicious so would definitely like to win if I’m lucky enough. I quite enjoy the house of Xerjoff. They do gourmands very well. I’m based in MN, USA

  • Cesar Abreu says:

I’m attracted to the realistic chocolate perfume that is describe and that smells like Belgium chocolate that is my favorite like the perfumer, the great Chris Morris. Another appealing aspect is the two type of Oud that I’m a big fan of! Great scent as described by Steven and Michelyn! Definitely I want it

  • Who doesn’t love chocolate… What one armed hook man would say no!? Steven thanks for introducing us & Michelyn also thanks for this beautiful draw once again!! I’m excited for fall/winter fragrances & this one is no exception, I’ve only smelled 1-2 different chocolate frags but don’t own any myself (would love to tho) USA, Good luck everyone!! Love all that y’all do at Cafleurebon, keep up the great work an amazing reviews!!!

    Fantastic fragrance by xerjoff.
Chocolate and orange with oud in the back.
    Performance is above average.

I would love to own this bottle. Steven does a great job describing this scent. The chocolate and vanilla factor sounds good!

  • Mariashurupova says:

I hope I win this fragrance!!! I love chocolate fragrances!!! I love how he describes it, I actually bought few fragrances before according to his reviews. He is spot on! Everything he describes matches the actual fragrance! AND I LOVE HOW DETAILED HE IS! keeping my fingers crossed that I win it! And tell everyone to buy it!!! Thanks for giveaway!!

  • Steven’s video offered a comprehensive review of Symphonium. I enjoyed how he provided all details about this fragrance from the presentation to the notes and ingredients, including the level of quality associated with each characteristic. I do own Xerjoff fragrances but not this one. I have had a chance to briefly get my nose on this and both Steven and Michelyn were right on point with its beautiful scent, from my recollection of the event.
I highly value the opinions of both Steven and Michelyn. Via this article and Steven’s video this fragrance appears to be one of the best they have both smelled. Going to have to add this one to my collection….maybe through this giveaway 😉 USA

  • I enjoyed learning from Steven how this fragrance differs from other chocolate centric fragrances. It sounds amazing and has a wonderful reputation. Michelyn’s intro was nice in that it explains that other facets of the perfume keep one from smelling like a candy bar. Id love to try Symphonies as I have enjoyed chocolate in fragrances like Kemi Aurum. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • Devard Derin Darshan Kemp says:

Noted on this fragrance intrigued me from I first saw it! Definitely one of my top frags to buy. I love Chocolate greedy and if this is better!?! Oh boy

  • Hello CaFleureBon, Europerfumes the US distributor of Xerjoff, thank you both for generous Giveaway! From MICHELYN’S INTRODUCTION to Symphonium by Xerjoff I enjoyed that fact that this fragragrance “simply Irresistible” and I personally would love to smell like a Candy bar.
From Steven’s YouTube review I enjoyed his passionate description of Symphonium by Xerjoff, mentioning everything we need to know, presentation, Perfumer, performance and in total I just can’t resist not to enter this gorgeous giveaway! Maybe I can’t eat to much chocolate, but definitely can enjoy the best Chocolate fragragrance Symphonium from Xerjoff!

  • Steven mentioned that chocolate doesn’t smell powdery but is photo realistic which makes me happy because I’m a gourmand lover. And let’s not forget about the creamy orange center. This sounds like a pure treat. This description immediately brought back memories of my grandmother setting out those assorted flavored Brachs candies when I was a kid, one of the flavors being an orange filled chocolate roll. I love chocolate fragrances.

  • I have heard about Xerjoff Symphonium and it is on my xmas gift list so if my wife reads this. I must say Michelyn got it right that I don’t want to smell like a candy bar. Steven nailed it with his deep review
    USA
It says luckycent is sold out?

  • Christopher Dorsett says:

What I like about Steven review on Xerjoff Symphonium is how he described the chocolate. And how Laos Oud is smooth and wearable. And have the orange still lingering around after 20 minutes. I also love the longevity of it. I most definitely would love to try this.

  • Carlos Smith says:

Chocolate fragrances are a opportunity to really show a perfumers mastery and skill. Steve ALWAYS covers all the bases in his reviews and his nose has been around the block a few times lol

  • Just saw Sebastian’s vid yesterday on his favourite gourmands from Xerjoff and this was top of the list. Very glad to hear from Michelyn that it’s nothing too candy-ish. Big fan of chocolate oranges myself. Plus Loatian oud is pretty easy on the nose. Glad that Steven agrees! Loved his emphasis on the evolution and full vanillic base that makes this a standout gourmand. Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s top of the list on my Xerjoffs to sample. MI, USA

  • Thijs Pluijmert says:

I would love to add this fragrance to my collection since I don’t really have that much money to spend on fragrances

  • I always been a fan of your video in reviewing perfumes. I am a big fan of chocolate. It’s amazes me one of the smell in Symphonium in your review video is the longevity and the projection. I owned a few Xerjoff and of my favorite is Accento Overdose. I am hoping that Symphonium will have a better smell and effects of the performance.

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Wow, this scent sounds phenomenal. I love achocolates and oranges too. Steven’s description of the perfume is also great. Thank you and greetings from Germany.

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Wow, this scent sounds phenomenal. I love achocolates and oranges too. Steven’s description of the perfume is also great. Thank you and greetings from Germany

  • I would be very grateful if I was to win a tester of this fragrance..Xerjoff is one house I haven’t explored, but chocolate, mandarin orange, wrapped in vanilla. That’s a must try for me. So unique..

  • Christopher seay says:

Steven always gives a great synopsis on fragrances. I haven’t been high on edible fragrance in the past years yet I’m becoming more and more drawn in with the darker elements of the genre. I’d like Michelyn stated I’m not one who want# to smell of a Godiva factory, but this is an intriguing one from my favorite perfume house

  • I enjoyed Steven’s review because he answered all my questions about the type of chocolate this fragrance smelled like. I dont like bitter chocolate. He described it as a smooth sweet gourmand chocolate and that is exactly what I am looking for.
Michelyn’s introduction has me convinced I need this in my collection. The description of the chocolate with a orange creamy center wrapped in delectable vanilla sounded incredible.
    I LOVE chocolate fragrances!

  • Skool to this gorgeous gem! Everything about it has been said. Steven you have described this perfume so well that I was already smelling it on me. Great review and keep up the good work in the fragcom.

  • I always wanted to buy a fragrance that the main note is chocolate. Steven mentions that in this fragrance, chocolate mixes with Spanish mandarin and is something that intrigues me a lot. If the original was release in 2015 and was relaunched in the 17/17 stone label collection it is because it must be a masterpiece by Xerjoff

  • IOANNIS NALMPANTIS says:

I recently had the chance to take sniff of this beauty. It’s like opening a chocolate praline box foul of glazed oranges with Chocolate on and maybe a hint of milk. Oh my God what a creation. Well done Xerjoff, another gourmand piece of art!

  • juliantheghost says:

Michelyn’s introduction and Steven’s review both give a great description of the scent ! I would love to win this scent because chocolate is one of my favorite notes, and I am looking for more unique fragrances !

  • Steven Billingsley says:

I been looking to purchase my first Xerjoff fragrance. Symphonium sounds amazing. If I don’t win it, it will be my next niche fragrance purchase!

  • As usual Steven always gives such a detailed and professional description of the fragrance, he keeps it classy as usual. I’ve never owned a chocolate fragrance so fingers crossed for this one.

  • Adam Straight says:

Steven really like this one so that definitely peaks my interest. I really love behold patchouli from gallagher so I know I will enjoy this one.

  • Thomas Stoner Jr says:

Steven is always about the details of a fragrance. He sets hisself apart. Am a true chocolate love and look forward to putting my nose on this fragrance

  • Raphael mouzakis says:

Steven is my favorite I love this guy he is so peaceful and xerjoff has the best perfumes in game

  • I am generally not a big fan of gourmand fragrances, but Michelyn’s introduction and Steven’s video review has got me very interested in Xerjoff Symphonium. First, Michelyn’s comment that it is gourmand, but not cloying, and Steven mentioning that it is a unique fragrance, one of his top three chocolate perfumes, makes it a good choice. I love oud and the fact that it tones down the gourmand nature of Xerjoff Symphonium is wonderful. I don’t have a favorite chocolate perfume. Maybe Xerjoff Symphonium will become one. Thanks for the excellent introduction Michelyn, and I of course love Steven’s reviews because they describe perfumes so beautifully. I am a Redolessence subscriber and from USA.

  • I might actually like smelling like a candy bar. As the kids say, a snack. But in reality I have bee interested in this xerjoff creation and when Steven said the longevity was 10+ hours I was even more intrigued. In maryland

  • Thank you Sebastian and Michelyn for the review and the intro. I’m a lover of chocolate but haven’t had much experience with chocolate fragrances. The description of the base with the vanilla and oud from Steve as well as from Michelyn’s intro make Symphonium sound exquisite. My experience with Xerjoff’s creations makes me yearn to try this out as so far I’ve loved all the 6 I’ve tried. I’m in USA

  • Dallas Tucker says:

I hope I get a chance to win. I’ve been wearing redbrook parfums newest release which has white chocolate. Thing one though, I’ve been a huge fan of A-men from Thierry Muggler and that was my first gourmand and am in love with it.

  • DEN GERSON MANTAWEL says:

I so love great reviews on any Scents ! I so love the ways Steven review any types of scents, literally i can smell parfum right tru my screen. He is egit person to talk about scents and everytime he highlights parfum, i literally drove to the closest Mall just to smell it firsthand.
I am really enjoying chocolate scents and want to add Chocolate on my collection. Everytime i sprayed Chocolate Scents everybody wants to eat me alive.. just kiddin!
    Hope to see more reviews!

  • Steven is one of the best fragrance reviewers. The way he breaks down fragrances is extraordinary and has played a vital role in me purchasing many fragrances. Michelyn does a great job too of explaining the fragrance, and to say it’s one of the best chocolate fragrances she has ever smelled says a lot considering her extensive history in the fragrance industry. Xerjoff is one of my favorite houses. You definitely get what you pay for when you buy a Xerjoff fragrance. I love chocolate fragrances, especially around Valentine’s day 🙂 Thanks for doing this review and allowing one of us the chance to own this amazing fragrance! Much love from Oklahoma!!!

  • Artus Ricumstrict says:

I like the fact of how well informed Steve Redolessence is on this fragrance i do own Chocolate Greedy by Montale but id love to win this one as well put my nose on it.

  • jmmcmenamin says:

Gourmands are one of my favorites. I love Xerjoff Italica (Casamorati) and this reminds me of that! Steven does a fantastic job describing scents and this was no exception. In Louisiana USA.

  • Thank you, Michelyn & Steven! ❤️ What lovely & delicious reviews! Michelyn, I adore how you create your own gourmet Belgian Praline from Symphonium! This immediately helps me wrap my head around the olfactory experience. Steven, thank you for your reflections on Laotian oud. It makes sense that Xerjoff would use this oud, as it must compliment the earthy & classic fudge flavors of Belgian chocolate. The contrast of the bright zesty orange with the rich, lush chocolate provides dynamism “wrapped in the most delectable vanilla,” as Michelyn beautifully writes. By chance, I’ve been looking to find a gourmand fragrance lately! Perhaps Xerjoff’s Symphonium will by my favorite! I have a sample of Mayan Chocolate by Aether Arts Perfume that I adore (thank you CaFleureBon – I would never have found this amazing Art House without you ❤️)! Thank you for this opportunity! USA

  • I liked that Steven said the fragrance had a Belgian chocolate note, what I liked about Michelyns review was that he said their was a orange creamy center.

  • Jarrid Steele says:

Best part of Steven’s review is his enthusiasm. The introduction from Michelyn always oozes with passion for the fragrance she’s talking about. My favorite chocolate fragrance is Verry Cherry Rose Chocolate Patchouli from Meleg.

  • Steven’s reviews are always on point. He goes into great details I can almost smell the Fragrance. The notes sound wonderful.Xerjoff Symphonium is something I would love to add to my fragrances collection. Thank you for this Chance. USA

  • Steven’s review was so detailed and articulate as usual! I feel like I could almost smell this fragrance. It sounds wonderful and I’d love to have it in my collection!

  • Daryl Gathing says:

I think what I like most about his YouTube review was the way he explained it.. He always goes into great detail about a fragrance as far as notes and the feeling he gets from it from the opening to the drydown. I think what I liked most about MICHELYN’S introduction was 1, the picture, and 2, her input on the fragrances.. I think they shared some of the same descriptions and by putting their explanations together I really get a sense of exactly what to expect from smelling it. This would be great for the upcoming weather.

  • Amanda32828 says:

I really love this review. It was very detailed in the way the notes and accords were all described. I really hope I win this bottle, I totally need some chocolate in my life and if it’s Belgium chocolate with the Xerjoff signature in it even better. Currently I do not own any Xerjoff, I only have a discovery set so I’ll love to start my collection with this one. Thank you for the opportunity to participate. I’ll love to win this beauty. Commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • Good evening, guys

What I like about Steven’s review is that he compared the Symphonium with Chocolate Greedy by Montale, because I have it and I love it, so I am pretty sure I would like Symphonium.
Regarding the Michelyn’s introduction of this article, what I like is when says that nobody wants to smell like a candy bar , and also that she says it has mandarin and orange, chocolate with citric notes sounds really good!!

    Regards,

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s description of Symphonium as a “dark chocolate surrounding an orange creamy center.” It reminded be of a box of chocolates, my favorite gift, so yes I’m a fan of a chocolate scent. Steve’s review mentioned the Belgian Chocolate note and I was sold. On my wishlist it goes! Thanks for another fabulous draw! Mich USA

  • Chris Pardo says:

I liked the opening where he showed the sray from the atomizer and under the cap. It’s nice to see some of the details of the bottle itself on the review.
Next, I liked the how the video showed the visual note breakdown with the explanation.
I love gourmand fragrances and have yet been able to get a bottle of Xerjoff yet, so this would be awesome to have.

  • As a gourmand fragrance lover, hearing that Michlyn thinks it’s the best chocolate fragrance has gotten my attention. I just saw this reviewed on someone’s youtube vlog of best gourmands. Hadn’t heard of it until recently. Of course I want to know what Steve thinks. Belgian chocolate is the best (I do have Belgian family roots). Multiple oranges!!! My favorite combo with chocolate is orange. I look forward to his thoughts of top 10 chocolate scents. I own about 5 chocolate scents and am curious if any of mine made the list. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • i enjoy how Michelyn explained that Symphonium is gourmand but not cloying and Steven described each note that supports the photo realistic chocolate. I used to own Al Rehab’s Coco Musk but would enjoy owning this higher quality fragrance.

  • Steven always breaks down fragrances really well. I liked the comparisons to other chocolate fragrances and this one sounds phenomenal. I hope I can get my nose on it.

  • Enjoyed the breakdown of the notes in the review. Sounds like a great fragrance, and hope I can get my nose on it sometime soon.

  • Mazikeen Smith 24 says:

Thank you Michelyn for the introduction.
Thank you also to Steven for another great review.
A photorealistic chocolate perfume?! Wow! As a gourmand lover, I am really excited about this one. The combination of chocolate, vanilla, and oud makes it the holy grail of gourmand for me, although I havent smelled it yet, I think I already agree to Steven that this might be the best gourmand. Hoping to try this soon
    Cheers from USA, SC

  • Steven, AKA Redolessence. clean cut, well put together, shape with that pleasant smile delivered top shelf content on the Symphonium by Xerjoff.

  • This fragrance might be the one I am looking for!
I really love the note on this one, I think this will remind me of my childhood eating orange icing sandwiched by chocolate cookies, it is like oreo but orange fillings.
If this is really photorealistic, creamy, delectable…. Im sold!
Thanks to Michelyn and Steven! Also to Europerfumes!
Have a fragrant day to all! USA

  • Cortney Mckinney says:

OK, yes! Ive been wanting a great chocolate fragrance and this sounds like Christmas! Maybe even like those crazy chocolate oranges you get at the holiday season. Steven said to enjoy this anytime because every moment is special and I agree.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s comment about the fragrance not being linear and how the Orange note fades off a little bit going into the mid. I too enjoy complex and dynamic fragrances. He did a fantastic job reviewing Symphonium.

In Michelyn’s introduction I liked the mention of not wanting to smell like a candy bar lol. Also I like the mention of oud grounding the fragrance for becoming to gourmand like. I can get down with that.

Yes I’m a total fan of chocolate fragrances lol

  • Courtney Palmer says:

Steven with the great review again. Really interested in the orange and chocolate! Would love to have this in my Collection!

  • Kelsey Jankowski says:

I’m totally ok with smelling like a chocolate bar 😉 Throughout my short fragrance collecting journey I’ve come to find out I LOVE gourmands, anything sweet. And if it smells as good as Michelyn describes it, I’m all for it. I appreciate Stevens reviews, probably more than others. Every time he reviews a fragrance that’s in my wheelhouse im tempted to blind buy. Im super interested to smell a chocolate fragrance with oud. I live in the US of A.

  • BostonScentGuy says:

It’s high praise to call this scent one of the best chocolate fragrances on the market–it’s great to hear it from both Michelyn and Steven. This sounds wonderful–I imagine the mandarin and cardamom playing well together. I love a good gourmand that is unisex and versatile, and it sounds like this fits the bill! I love other not overly sweet chocolates like the Cartier Les Heures scent and the chocolate note in Lutens’ Borneo. Thanks for the draw! I’m in the US (Colorado).

  • Steven is simply one of the best fragrance journalists in the entire industry! His reviews are always honest, full with details and very precise. He simply described Symphonium as “one of the best, if not the best chocolate scents on the market”, which certainly says a lot about this perfume.

Michelyn’s introduction about this scent was also spot on; “the olfactive equivalent of dark chocolate surrounding an orange creamy center, wrapped in the most delectable vanilla”. Looking forward to add this scent to my collection.

  • John coronel says:

Love steven’s review on symphonium! Can’t wait to hopefully win this for the wife! We’re both gourmand perfume lovers!

  • I love to see steven’s sincerity for his passion of fragrance. He’s so thorough in how he explains the fragrance and why he loves it. I see his excitement as he describes this fragrance, and I know I’ll buy buying a sample at least.

  • Daniel Hernandez says:

When it comes to fragrance reviews Steven is top notch. Both Steven and Michelyn go into great detail without being boring. I have not smelled chocolate in a fragrance before so I would love to win because xerjoff symphonium sounds like a great place to start.

  • I smelled this fragrance at Perfumology in Philadephia and this fragrance is very rich in the gourmand section for the frag heads. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this kind of scent to absolutely anyone. Best chocolate fragrance on the market. Well done Xerjoff as they always have with their entire fragrance line.

  • I recently have gotten my nose on this fragrance at Perfumology in Philadephia and wow this fragrance is amazing! Symphonium is by far the best chocolate smelling fragrance I have gotten my nose on. Well explained and done review too Steve ! Could not have stated it any better then the way he stated it smelling like. Well done job by the house of Xerjoff too as they always have done with each fragrance from their line.

  • I love Xerjoff Symphonium. It absolutely smells like a chocolate orange to me. I think it’s perfect for fall and winter, but especially during the holidays. I agree with Michelyn’s comment that it’s not at all cloying and is rather complex. I agree with Steven’s comment that Symphonium is a very photorealistic chocolate fragrance and it is very well blended. I love chocolate fragrances and would love to own a bottle of Symphonium. Thank you for the giveaway.

  • kerolos labib says:

I love how Steven is always descriptive. He brings the scent to life. I really like that he made a comparison between it and chocolate fever because I like that one a lot and was wondering about their similarities and differences.

  • The most enjoyed about Steven’s YouTube review of Symphonium by Xerjoff AND MICHELYN’S INTRODUCTION.
Is he went through the details of this fragrance everything including
    -The perfumer
    -The presentation
    -the notes
    -The performance
    -The versatility
    – the uniqueness
And what’s the difference between Symphonium by Xerjoff And other chocolate fragrance and how Xerjoff more realistic one
    Everything
Thank you Steven my favorite youtube reviewer for review this fragrance very interesting . Also
thank you Europerfumes , Steven and cafleurebon for the the opportunity !

  • Muhammad Ali Almasri says:

I am absolutely in love with orange chocolates and when this fragrance hit the market, I was ecstatic to try it. It did not disappoint! Beautiful gourmand and extremely long-lasting.

Steven’s review made the fragrance even more tempting for me. Hoping I can own it at some point. 🙂

  • I love the notes mentioned. Citrus, mandarin, woody cardamom, musk, and vanilla with oud from Thailand. That sounds right up my alley. Complex fragrances make it more interesting. Great history with a great presentation makes an excellent fragrance. Xerjoff is hands down high quality. From the words of Steven from Redolessence, Chris Maurice the perfumer created a masterpiece which make me want to try the perfume even more.

  • Upaditya.17 says:

I have always found Steven to be the perfect reviewer as hes always to the point with his reviews. Love his work.
I have an official sample of this mentioned fragrance and it was a love at first sniff and always thought of buying a full bottle. And xerjoff as a brand puts out quality stuff.
    Thanks for the giveaway

  • Rehanjunaid says:

Stephen’s reviews are always helpful. I’m so glad you hook me up with Amouage Enclave.
Michelyn and Steven both talked about the blend of dark chocolate and orange supported by vanilla and Oud making it a heavenly gourmand. Thanks for the giveaway. From US

  • I loved the great detail Steven used while discussing the chocolate fragrance, how it smells like Belgian chocolate and I think he is the only reviewer I watch that rates the uniqueness of a fragrance which I appreciate! I love Michelyn straight to the point review of this delicious scent.
    I live in the USA.

  • REDOLESCENCE video description of this fragrance is top notch and his expertise which highlights the chocolate aspect of this one is very interesting to me.

  • What i particularly like about Steven’s video review is whether your an experienced frag head or new to the hobby, you will find the videos enjoyable and informative. With Symphonium, Steve’s detailed description of the oud note was great info to have.

    Michelyn’s photos are perfect.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Wow. This sounds like a fragrance that both my wife and I would love. It’s also a Xerjoff and they can do no wrong. I love Steven’s expertise and loved hearing that this is one of Michelyn’s favorites. Sounds beautiful for the colder months coming. USA

  • If Steven said this might be the best chocolate fragrance ever, I believe him. And it seems Michelyn is equally impressed, also by the fact that is not cloyingly sweet. Belgian chocolate with vanilla, orange and Oud sounds so good!

  • alex.cunningham.578 says:

The way Steven describes the fragrances he reviews always gives me the best depiction of how the fragrance will wear on my skin and how I will enjoy it. I own a couple xerjoff fragrances and this is one I certainly plan to add to my collection.

  • Johnson Chin says:

Steven just has a way with words, sometimes too articulate. He makes me want to buy everything he reviews! But I absolutely want Symphonium by Xerjoff because I am the biggest fan of chocolate! It is my all time “go to” sweet treat. If I win I’ll share decants with all my friends! Lol

  • Jason Baker says:

I found it quite informative and interesting with much details about the product and feel I would enjoy this

  • Deepankar Das says:

His reviews are always informative and very elaborate. Really gives us an insight of a what the fragrance actually smells like. Love his channel!

  • James Weaver says:

I love Redolessence review He gives a intriguing and invigorating review this a loud but not overpowering gourmand , smells like chocolate but not a candy bar. I need to get my nose on this. My favorite Xerjoff fragrance is Naxos I own 7 Xerjoff fragrances. My favorite Chocolate fragrance is Chocolate Wasted by Ganache Parfums. Virginia USA resident. also a subscriber to Redolessence Youtube channel.

  • Love Steven and Michelyn reviews! As I understand from Michelyn’s description this a best chocolate fragrances, which will not cloying due to oud from Laos and Tai!!
    Love Xerjoff very much !!
    US

  • Nguyen Quang Minh says:

I like how Steven compared and contrast the chocolate note with other chocolate fragrances.
As written in the introduction, I too enjoy certain facets of chocolate and doesn’t want my perfume to smell like a candy bar. Therefore I would love to have a bottle based on what I’ve learned so far.

  • I really enjoyed the comparisons Steven made between this fragrance and the chocolate candy. I also really liked Michelyn’s description of the fragrance as gourmand but not candy-like. It sounds really interesting.

  • Steven is just incredible — one of the best reviewers <3 I adore Michelyn's review as well and love that this perfume is not so candy-like (as Michelyn mentions). Such a beautiful perfume and opportunity. Thank you! <3 I live in the USA.

  • This is a stunning fragrance and Steven’s video knocks it out of the park. He really nailed the drydown – the orange does disappear but you’re left with this intoxicating, creamy chocolate-vanilla with a hint of warming spices. Just stunning and not at all linear – it changes several times throughout the wear! And I agree w/ Steven that the oud isn’t overpowering. This fragrance is unique but approachable.

Along those lines, I love that Michelyn pointed out that we don’t want to smell like candy bars with our chocolate perfumes. YES! I struggle with chocolate perfumes. Many of them smell like cheap chocolate – tootsie rolls. Others are too “gourmand,” bordering on “edible” and more appropriate for candles or diffusers. But Symphonium is a creamy, slightly spicey, aromatic chocolate scent that is just completely addictive.

This very specifically reminds me of visiting my brother in the Buffalo, NY area and going to Platter’s chocolate shop. It’s a chocolate shop that specializes in orange chocolate. They have all types of chocolates, candies, and even an ice cream shop where you can get orange-chocolate hot fudge on your ice cream. And the orange chocolate sponge candies are heaven on earth – tangy, creamy, rich, chocolatey – just perfection. Symphonium takes me right back to that shop and those addicting sponge candies. Warm, welcoming, and unique.

  • Great intro by Michelyn, totally agree with not wanting to smell like a candy bar! I love gourmands, but usually don’t like lots of chocolate in my scents. However, I’ve never tried chocolate and oud. Stephen’s description of how the orange, chocolate, and oud blend together make me definitely want to try it. Thanks for the chance!

  • This sounds like a masterpiece! I am a huge chocolate fan and both reviews make me really want to sample this. I love how Michelyn describes the fragrance because, with any gourmand, there is always the risk of the fragrance smelling too much like the food it was inspired by. Sometimes this isn’t a problem, but I for one would like a fragrance reminiscent of a delicious food, that also has its own twist. I really think the mandarin and oud were such a smart way of spinning off the Belgian chocolate into a really creative perfume. As for Steven’s review, I love how he compared it to other well known chocolate fragrances and explained the differences. This actually helped me a lot to visualize the scent. Also, Steven’s description of the evolution of the fragrance was very useful. For Michelyn’s review, it has to be the imagery. I just love how she describes the fragrance. Honestly, both fantastic reviews – I am definitely going to sample this one! Kind regards from IN, USA.

  • Conner Welsh says:

I really enjoyed how he took the time to show us the gorgeous bottle and art of the fragrance rather than neglecting the bottle especially for the price.

I also like the scent breakdowns

  • I love Steve’s reviews. He’s always so thorough and I’m really interested in chocolate centric fragrances particularly in cooler weather. This sounds like a Terry’s Chocolate ball with a nice undercurrent of oud. Would love to try it! I’m in MD, USA.

  • I can like complex, long-lasting, and chocolate-prominent fragrances. I’m interested to try what Steven calls, possibly, the best chocolate-prominent fragrance on the market, and I’m interested to see what all of its nuances are like. Michelyn’s intro. was helpful for me to understand what this fragrance is like. I’ve experienced chocolate fragrances only slightly, but I know that I can like at least most of them. I’m a subscriber to Steven’s YouTube channel. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Carlos R Rodriguez says:

I have watched a couple of reviews about Symphonium. But it wasn’t until I watched Steven’s review that I got to appreciate in vivid details the nature and smell of this perfume. It was very well described and articulated. My interest for it has been awakened. An e pensive perfume like this deserves a matching review. I think this is why enjoyed Steven’s post. Yes, I’m a fan of chocolate perfumes. I have followed this one since day one.

  • Antoinette Veach says:

I especially enjoyed this video as Steven breaks down every aspect or nuance of the fragrance which draws one in – basically luring the listener into wanting to purchase. I get that the bottom line is so we purchase but he seems to genuinely love the fragrance and excited for others to love it too. Definitely intrigued and its a must have for me!

  • I definitely hope I’m lucky enough to win this scent. It’s definitely the type of fragrance that I like. I like how Steven and Michelyn mention the vanilla note that’s included along with the chocolate being the base. This is the type of gourmand fragrance that I have been looking to add to my collection.

  • Orange, CARDAMOM, and oud with Belgian chocolate ? Sign me up ! I really enjoy a chocolate in perfume. I like 1) how Michelyn makes clear this is not cloying or candy-like and 2) how Steven explains how the fragrance is not linear and evolves quite a bit. Thanks for the draw and I’m in Pennsylvania, USA.

  • I enjoyed how Steven described, in-depth, how delectable Symphonium is, how it is complex and also evolves…sounds like an amazing chocolate fragrance! I also really like how Michelyn described the fragrance by listing the notes of sweet woody cardamom with a seductive musky finish. I can almost picture how good this fragrance smells with such descriptive words!

  • Brandon theodore says:

I sampled a bunch of xerjoff fragrances last week for the first time and wow they are now my favorite house and I am obsessed. I HOPE I WIN! Steven said it is the most photo realistic fragrance you will ever smell. IM EXCITED!!!

  • Sherin Thomas says:

This is undoubtedly the best chocolate gourmand fragrance and I agree with Steven’s review. The Orange Chocolate is dominant throughout. Love to win this gorgeous fragrance From PA, USA

  • What isn’t there to like about Steven’s video. He’s always very in depth with his reviews and this is no different. I’m in the market for an amazing Chocolate fragrance so Steven’s video has brought me here. I’m big on versatility too so my favorite part is when he mentions that this is a versatile chocolate frag so something I can wear regularly. Well, hopefully I win. Thank you.

  • Thanks Michelyn and Steven for very interesting review!!
Love Xerjoff and love chocolate in perfumery! And considering that this perfume is not cloying sweet as Michelyn mentioned and with Xerjoff’s oud and legendary longevity, performance – I would love to have this in my collection ❤️

  • According to steven, this is a photo realistic chocolate fragrance, unlike other chocolate fragrance that smell like powdered cocoa, this is more like a chocolate bar thats very luscious. I my self am an addict with chocolate, and that I love eating a box in just a sitting. Michelyn said that this fragrance is a gourmand, but not cloying; this is a good thing because I tend to overspray. Chocolate and oranges are one of my favorite combos, especially with chocolate cookie with orange filling, that is my favorite. I bet this fragrance will be one of my favorites, and I hope I can try one for myself! Love from USA!

  • Not all the time of course, but actually I don’t mind smelling like a candy bar
Quality with Xerjoff all fragrances is through the roof , and I’m sure Symphonium is no exception. Well balanced dark chocolate , orange , and slightly darker base with the oud addition.
I do think Mefisto is timeless , Symphonium could come close, we’ll see. It sounds impressive.
I’ve sampled a lot of Xerjoff fragrances lately, and Amabile is one of my my latest acquisitions. Now is in my top 2 Xerjoff fragrances, number one still being Mefisto.
Symphonium I’ll try next , I’m a fan of chocolate fragrances.
Exquisite giveaway , thanks Michelyn , Steven and Europerfumes

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

This fragrance sounds really dope! Orange? Belgian chocolate? Vanilla? If that was a delicacy, I’d eat it. I’ve heard a lot about the craftsmanship of Xerjoff so I’m expecting a well-constructed concoction. My favorite chocolate fragrance is one that has a slight cacao vibe…L’instant de Guerlain EDP. I like how Michelyn points out the fact no one wants to smell like a chocolate bar. That’s one of the questions you have when you think about going gourmand…there has to be some semblance of wearability. Appreciate the generosity of this giveaway. Blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • Just wow. To start with, how could I not be intrigued by a scent described by both Michelyn and Steven as possible the best chocolate fragrance ever? And the bottle is exquisite. I fell under the spell of real Belgian chocolate on my first visit to Brussels years ago, and the combination of this with Italian and Spanish citrus sounds amazing and as Steven said unique. I’d like to try more chocolate fragrances. Thank you for the draw; I’d love to win Symphonium.

  • Symphonium i think it’s photorealistic gourmand , no doubt made exceptionally well. It’s Xerjoff we’re talking about.
In my mind I visualize the fragrance truly smells like you’re sitting in some super fancy Italian coffee shop/bakery and you’re enjoying the smell of your chocolate and orange dessert in front of you.
The Oud i think will Symphonium a nice twist , playing it’s role in the background.
I love all kinds of fragrances from different genres , and i don’t get the “issue” smelling like a candy bar … at all. Each to his own of course.
    All @cafleurebon @redolessence @xerjoff @offficial_Europerfumes @luckyscent I already follow . Let’s not forget the man himself @joffmomo
    Thanks a lot

  • MarkMarkMark678 says:

Xerjoff is my absolute hands down favorite house.
I do own several bottles and I love pretty much all of them.
I love how Steven described the non linearity of this fragrance from opening to mid, to dry down.
How it opens with bright Spanish Mandarin and Italian orange that fadeaway into a rich decadent Belgian chocolate (reminded him of a Roche chocolate) with a Gourmand vanilla residing in the base providing an intoxicating sweetness with two iterations of oud to ground it all together.
    Sounds so delectable.

But I’m so glad I read Michelyns introduction because I’m not the biggest fan of straight up chocolate fragrances (Chocolate Greedy is just not for me), but Michelyn made the statement that no one wants to smell like a candy bar, and I couldn’t agree with her more.
She mentioned that Symphonium was like a dark chocolate surrounding a creamy orange center wrapped in vanilla….
    OMG!!!!!
I need this in my life.

  • Just a quick note: The amazing Perfumology sample subscription service has Xerjoff’s Symphonium included in this month’s samples! We LOVE Perfumology! Nir is wonderful! Great customer service, great fragrances, and the monthly sample packs always include something I’m dying to try! Also, great price! Just a quick shout out if anyone is looking for a fun way to get a sample of Symphonium!

  • IvanVelikov says:

The new hype train is coming i believe . First it was Italica , now it’s Symphonium.
Ideally balanced crunchy chocolate toffee , cozy orange , special oud , “most delectable vanilla” , and it’s made by Xerjoff? Not to mention the performance Steven mentioned .
Symphonium is truly awesome, sophisticated high end gourmand , and I believe I’d feel in good spirits while wearing it.
My favorite Xerjoff is Lira . It’s quite sweet, some could easily argue that it resembles candy bar , so ….
Beautiful giveaway , thanks a lot Steven, Michelyn and Europerfumes

  • I have never had or smelled a chocolate fragrance before, and this sounds very interesting. what i like is how he can review both designer and niche fragrances without being condesending or snobbish. most of the time reviewers give the best remarks about niche and will act as if designer or cheapie fragrances are beneath it despite it being personal opinion

  • I really love chocolate fragrances but they have to smell realistic and I prefer them not to be powdery. My all time favorite chocolate perfume was Chocolovers by Aquolina. And the way Steven describes Symphonium, it sounds like it is in the same category. It has that bright orange citrus opening but has that rich chocolate note that stays throughout the development of the fragrance. I like how he describes the rich vanilla in the base that gives it that sweet finish. It really sounds like a gourmand lovers dream! I currently only own Golden Dallah but would love to add Symposium to my collection.
    I live in the USA.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I love chocolate fragrances! Michelyn makes a fantastic point about how photorealistic I like my chocolate fragrances. She points out the earthiness in chocolate and I think that some of the facets of chocolate, like earthiness, are what I enjoy about a fragrance with a chocolate note rather than smelling like realistic chocolate bar. I am too much a novice to know the differences between different ouds but Stephen’s description of the smoothness of the Laotion oud sounds lovely (although I do enjoy some barnyard). I also appreciate that he mentions that the chocolate hangs around in this one. I hate it when the chocolate note fades quickly. I’d love to win this one. Thanks for the draw. From the US.

  • To be honest both Steven’s and Michelyn’s description of the Symphonium made me want to own a bottle asap. Steven’s reviews are one of my favourites, he always makes you almost smell the scent from the passionate and detailed way he describes it. Michelyn’s introduction is on point, definitely very helpful in imagining what is going on in this for sure lovely gourmand. I’m just getting into the gourmands lately and I tested my first chocolate scents not so long ago and I must say, so far I enjoyed most of them quite a lot, but I don’t own any yet. I would be pleased to start with a Xerjoff gem.

  • This sounds like it is right up my alley and with Steven’s spot on reviews, I can’t wait to get my nose on this beauty. I like it more when Michelyn said it is complex and doesn’t veer too much into the candy lane.
It seems like it might be another home run for Sergio Momo.

  • Tailang Napa says:

I donot own a chocolate fragrance. So, i would really love to have one. I hope, i am lucky enough to win one.

  • I’m very excited when Steven mentioned about the long lasting and realistic chocolate note in this fragrance. I personally like chocolate note in fragrances a lot! Michelyn also said that this is one of the best chocolate fragrances. Orange note is also my favorite, so I can’t wait to give this one a try!

  • xochipilli81 says:

Who can say no to a luxurious gourmand fragrance? I cannot! Symphonium by Xerjoff is a gourmand lovers dream. As Steven mentioned, it’s a long lasting, non linear fragrance that is perfect for this time of year. Michelyn says that it is not cloying due to the cardamom and fresh citrus. This must be heaven in a bottle! Thank you ÇAFLEURBON for this opportunity to win! – Xochitl PV in California, USA

  • Amazing introduction by Michelyn and as always Steven’s review is great and detailed. I love how excited you can tell he is when he really is into a fragrance. I love gourmands And have not yet found a chocolate fragrance that has become a favorite yet so I would love to give this a try.

  • For Steven to comment that this is one of the best cholesterol fragrances on the market, is really saying a lot. I love the house of Xerjoff. I’ve been really focusing on them for the past few months. Looking for to sampling this one soon, or better yet, winning a bottle. Thank you for sponsoring this give away!

  • For Steven to comment that this is one of the best chocolate fragrances on the market, is really saying a lot. Michelyn’s introduction made this fragrance sound scrumptious.
I love the house of Xerjoff. I’ve been really focusing on them for the past few months. Looking for to sampling this one soon, or better yet, winning a bottle. Thank you for sponsoring this give away!

  • I have a feeling I’m one of the few Cafleurebon readers who actually smelled Symphonium.
Тhe fragrance was a limited edition , made for Fortnum&Mason , high end department store in London. That’s where I’ve smelled it
I remember the smell being really sweet , mix of chocolate pot , and Cointreau – famous French Orange Liquor , and ever slightly funky oud in the base. It surprised me that Steven and Michelyn do not perceive the booziness.
As far as my memory serves me, Symphonium was also powdery.
I have to revisit it again, no questions asked.
The best Xerjoff fragrances are Cruz del Sur II , followed by Golden Dallah and then comes my old love Lira. I have a great feeling about Symphonium, let’s see. Premium chocolate fragrances are my favorites.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • First of all thanks Michelyn and Steven for very interesting descriptions !
Love Xerjoff very much, but unfortunately I have not tested this one. but Symphonium sounds delicious – amazing chocolate with oud with its all nuances !!

Thanks for the great review Steven!

I really enjoy fragrances with chocolate/cacao, especially when they are non gourmand.

It’s so cool to see this note paired with orange, cardamom and oud. It’s really interesting that this has a photorealistic chocolate note, which is nonlinear – that is unusual.

Michelyn’s introduction was great! Enjoyed reading through it, especially about the role of the oud in this fragrance.

I do love chocolate fragrances – I love Barrister and Mann Hallows.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • sephrenia300 says:

Nice introduction and review! What I enjoyed about Steven’s YouTube review of Symphonium is the detailed way he goes through all the notes, when they appear and how long they last. I never would have expected a sweet gourmand chocolate fragrance to have oud in the base, let alone two different types of oud, Thai and Laoitian.

What I enjoyed about Michelyn’s introduction is learning that the fragrance, while gourmand, is not cloying. I really liked what Michelyn said about no one wanting to smell like a chocolate bar as that is my biggest concern with fragrances such as this one. It’s reassuring to learn it is not so!

I am a fan of chocolate perfumes as long as they are not too sweet. My favorite is Olympic Orchids Cafe V. I live in the US.

  • Xerjoff makes some of the best fragrances and I’m sure this one is no exception. I’ve been wanting this one for a while and Steve’s review definitely reinforces that. Yes, I want to smell like a candy bar, or a chocolate covered creamsicle.

  • bennybennyta says:

Once again Steven brought me here. I would like to enter the giveaway, I am from NY. My favorite xerjoff is naxos, hopefully I can get my nose on this one.

  • Definetely one of the best gourmand that has been released from Xerjoff. Love how you both describe the experience using Symphonium. Now have the urge to find Ghirardelli with citrus chocolate bar.
    Hope to get lucky.

  • Now we’re talking, learning about Symphonium was such a pleasure , awesome job by Steven and Michelyn.
What impresses me the most is different facets set up by the perfumer.
Symphonium is not one dimensional chocolate
gourmand, there’s also orange , cardamom , and Laotian Oud . Posh fragrance at its best. I need such fragrance in my collection.
Fall nights, on a walk with classy lady, going out to a bar , such situations I think will suit Symphonium the best.
I like a lot of Xerjoff fragrances , my favorites are Casamorati Lira , Opera , Italica and Amabile.
Symphonium could be my next purchase, I’ll look for samples.
Ever since I was a kid, I like not only eating, but the smell of a good chocolate.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Who doesn’t like smelling like a candy bar? I get the irony, but still the answer is , very few people I believe. I smell like candy bars all the time , I’m a Pastry Chef after all. Also gourmands is my favorite style in Perfumery, well over 80% of my ever growing collection includes gourmands. I don’t know the exact number, but I have close to 200 ,if not more I believe.
Steven and Michelyn combined take on Symphonium reminded me of making , and eating Orange Chocolate Cake , with cardamom and slightly candied orange slices on top of it.
I love eating, smelling, and working with chocolate, I’m eating Toffee Almond Cake at the moment
My favorite Xerjoff is Italica, also one the best gourmands ever.
Appreciate the Steven and Michelyn review, and the giveaway campaign

  • The intro had me at juicy mandarin and Stevens praise about one of the best chocolate scents he’s experienced has my interest peaked. I love chocolate and gourmand fragrances. I’m a sucker for sweet scents and Xerjoff does the gourmand class justice time and time again.

  • One of the best,if not the best chocolate fragrance on the market…

    Come on guys , I’m on a diet….
Symphonium is fragrance with a character, that has a lot of layers, mandarin, orange, Belgian chocolate, musk and two different oud varieties.
Top chocolate gourmand . Something to be expected of all Xerjoff gourmands of course.
What I find interesting, is that Michelyn and Steven opinion is slightly different . Steven called it “One of the most photorealistic chocolate perfumes you’ll ever smelled in your life” and also, rich and full chocolate gourmand, but according to Michelyn it’s not so sweet.
Naxos and La Capitale are my favorite Xerjoff beauties .
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • That remind Steven about Sorriso from Profumo Roma fragrance which I like a lot and I agree with Michelyn that no man want to smell like candy bar, plus if you fix top note of chocolate with orange and cardamom with remind me of Herod a little. I am in CA USA

  • Andrei Artimon says:

steven is by far my favorite fragrance reviewer and the one who’s sold me on a handful of perfumes. his description on this scent has me weak and i’ve been looking to try a chocolate scent for a while! xx
