The 7 Virtues has unveiled their first true gourmand  BUTTERCREAM HAZE – serving up a sumptuous platter of buttercream pancakes drenched in maple syrup, crowned with a delicate drizzle of toasted caramel. While some may feel overwhelmed by the era of sticky-sweet gourmands, The 7 Virtues BUTTERCREAM HAZE is a love letter to gourmand enthusiasts who crave that irresistible, finger-licking rush. Buttercream Haze delivers exactly that, a decadent, indulgent escape for those who revel in delicious perfumes.

This fragrance is a feast, buttery and boozy, with a fluffy, toasted warmth that feels as substantial as a freshly baked cake. The notes, buttercream icing, rum essence, maple crème, fluffy cake accord, toasted caramel swirl, whipped vanilla, and tonka bean read like a recipe for a confectioner’s dream, with creamy sandalwood and cashmere musk adding a touch of sophistication. The result is dense yet inviting, a fragrance that wraps you in a nostalgic embrace.

For me, The 7 Virtues BUTTERCREAM HAZE is a weekend indulgence, reserved for slow mornings when time lingers and I can savor the moment, perhaps with a stack of pancakes and a steaming cup of coffee. It evokes the comfort of a familiar diner where the server knows your order before you sit down, or the joy of whipping up a homemade breakfast, batter sizzling on the griddle. The fluffy cake accord and maple crème blend seamlessly, conjuring memories of carefree mornings and childhood treats, while the rum essence and lemon zest add a playful, grown-up twist. I also detect a slight popcorn accord which isn’t listed but adds even more fun to the composition.

Fragrances are portals to memory and emotion, and The 7 Virtues BUTTERCREAM HAZE transports you to a place of pure bliss…”and that’s the icing on the top.”

This is a heavenly creamy offering from the brand. I do love gourmands because who doesn’t want to smell like an edible snack? Whoever says no, they’re lying. This is truly sticky sweet goodness all around and the weather is complimenting it already with the 50 degrees we have going on. Every single note I see on this scent makes me just want to savor and salivate nonstop. What a treat! I’m located in the USA.

  • A dedicated gourmand scent from The 7 Virtues is something to experience. Olya feels Buttercream Haze is an unapologetic, sweet treat that has a buttery richness from a popcorn accord. It is a “love letter” to those that love a good gourmand and this time of year, as it gets colder, it is a great decadent scent, perfect to enjoy whenever.

  • I love maple syrup notes in perfumes, and I am very intrigued by the popcorn note Olya mentioned in her review. Ever since Miss Dior Cherie was reformulated, we had a shortage of that
I have been a huge fan of 7 Virtues since their early days, and of Barb Stegemann in particular, and bought several of her perfumes over the years. I still think Afghanistan Orange Blossom was one of the most perfect orange blossom perfumes on the market.

Thanks for the draw! I am in the US.

  • i love how olya compares the fragrance to childhood memories & a diner where the server knows you— it makes the fragrance sound comforting & familiar- you can never go wrong with nostalgia, really. olya really did an incredible job at describing this fragrance beautifully & even though i am not a maple syrup type fragrance lover- this reading caught my attention. i am in colorado & have tried vanilla woods. i actually just ran out of my 10ml that i carry w/me everywhere. :).

  • Wow, this review really makes Buttercream Haze sound like a true treat! I love that The 7 Virtues didn’t just make a decadent gourmand but infused it with their bigger mission and values. That balance of indulgence with intention is what makes me such a fan of this brand. Reading about those notes—rum, maple crème, caramel, tonka, sandalwood—already has me craving it, but what really gets me is knowing they put so much heart into their work, from being B-Corp certified to supporting causes like Days For Girls. It makes wearing their fragrances feel even more meaningful. Buttercream Haze sounds like the kind of scent that brings comfort and joy while also reminding you that perfume can stand for something bigger. I can’t wait to experience it myself!

  • What truly evoked my curiosity about Olya’s article was how she transcended the typical fragrance review. She didn’t just list notes or describe longevity; she crafted a narrative that made scent feel like memory, emotion, and identity. Her language was evocative, almost poetic, and it invited me to reflect on my own relationship with fragrance.

I was especially drawn to how she explored the cultural and ethical dimensions of perfumery. That resonated deeply, considering I already own Vetiver of Haiti and Patchouli of Rwanda, two scents rooted in rich, meaningful origins. Her review made me wonder not just how a perfume smells, but what story it tells, whose hands cultivated its ingredients, and what emotions it’s meant to stir.

It wasn’t just informative; it was immersive. And that’s what sparked my curiosity: the sense that fragrance could be more than a luxury, it could be a language. Cheers from NY, USA.

I’m a huge 7 virtues fan with several in my collection. I’m excited about this new add – Buttercream Haze – sounds more complex than just a sweet vanilla and I love a good sandalwood base to anchor a fragrance- can’t wait to get my nose on this! Thank you for the fun to read review!

  • I love the bottle for this. It is absolutely a gourmand as I had a chance to smell this recently. The dry down is my favorite part. I didn’t realize it had maple until now. My favorite of the brand is Santal Vanille. I love that there is sandalwood in this fragrance as well. USA.

  • As a gourmand lover, I am really excited for this one. I have tried some of their other creations and I love this them all. I think it would be a perfect wear for holidays ahead. Thanks for the opportunity. USA

  • Buttercream Haze sounds like a very sweet fragrance. I love gourmands if the are done well and well blended. I’m a huge fan of a spiced vanilla with some woods and it sounds like this one delivers. Buttercream Haze sounds like a weekend treat with the buttercream icing vanilla and fluffy cake facets. I think it will be a good addition to the 7 virtues brand. I enjoy vanilla woods. I am excited to try Buttercream Haze for myself. I am in Pennsylvania USA

  • I loved the review. The part that sparks my interest in this..”the perfume notes buttercream icing, rum essence, maple crème, fluffy cake accord, toasted caramel swirl, whipped vanilla, and tonka bean read like a recipe for a confectioner’s dream, with creamy sandalwood and cashmere musk adding a touch of sophistication. The result is dense yet inviting, a fragrance that wraps you in a nostalgic embrace.”

  • This sounds like an indulgent Sunday morning breakfast featuring a maple syrup drizzled buttery Belgian waffle with rum flavored cream on top. It is very gourmand and very cool weather appropriate. The lemon zest, rum and sandalwood adds some adult notes to the confection. MD, USA.

  • Olya’s review made me crave pancakes before I even finished reading! The way she describes the buttercream, rum, and maple creme feels so alive and delicious. I love that she captured the comforting side of gourmands without making it sound overly sugary. Buttercream Haze sounds like a hug in scent form.

  • Citrus Paradise says:

I love how Olya painted a picture of lazy Sunday mornings and coffee with pancakes, that made the whole fragrance feel cozy and relatable. I’ve tried Vanilla Woods before and it’s one of my comfort scents, so this sounds like its playful cousin.

  • shining stones says:

The popcorn accord she mentioned really caught my attention, that’s so fun and unexpected! I like how this scent doesn’t take itself too seriously yet still sounds sophisticated with sandalwood and musk. The review really sold the vibe of pure indulgence and warmth.
Thanks for the draw! I am in the US.

  • Olya’s review immediately caught my attention because she managed to convey not only the edible richness of Buttercream Haze but also the emotional texture behind it, that sense of warmth, nostalgia, and indulgence. I appreciate that she acknowledged the fine balance between decadence and sophistication, something that’s often missing in gourmand releases. The inclusion of rum essence and lemon zest sounds particularly intriguing, adding brightness and lift to what could otherwise be an overly dense composition. I’ve tried Vanilla Woods and Santal Vanille from The 7 Virtues, both of which felt well-composed and comforting, so I’m very curious to see how the brand interprets a full gourmand concept.

  • FragranceFrenzyS says:

What stood out most in Olya’s review is her ability to make Buttercream Haze sound like a sensory experience rather than just a perfume. The description of a “buttery and boozy feast” that evokes slow mornings and the warmth of fresh pancakes genuinely piqued my interest. I’m often wary of gourmands that lean too sugary, but the mention of creamy sandalwood and cashmere musk suggests an underlying elegance and texture that I find very appealing. Haven’t tried anything from the brand.

    I live in Canada.

  • AromaAdventurer says:

Olya’s review made me pause because she described Buttercream Haze not just as a scent but as a moment — that comforting, unhurried morning when everything feels right. The idea of a gourmand that celebrates “excess without apology” feels refreshing in today’s minimalist landscape. I’m especially intrigued by the hint of popcorn she mentioned, which could add a fun, cozy twist to the sweetness.
Haven’t tried perfumes by the brand. I am from Canada.

  • Olya’s review frames Buttercream Haze as a bold, lush gourmand with character — not a timid vanilla flanker but a full-on dessert statement with some critique toward excess avoided.

But in conclusion, if you love gourmand, dessert perfumes, Buttercream Haze is likely to hit many of your pleasure points: buttery frosting, vanilla, caramel, maple glaze. However, sweetness is risky. For people who dislike heavy sugar / candy-like scents, this may come off as too much. But knowing The 7 Virtues fragrances this can be a more a cozy gourmand than a powerhouse scent. I love Clementine Dream, Vanilla Woods and Cherry Ambition. So I’m waiting to tests this on my skin! From USA.

  • Ooh buttercream, sounds delicious! While I consider myself a gourmand enjoy-er, I find some of the trendy new scents to be a bit too airy for my taste. I like how this was described as “dense” as that’s exactly how I expect my caramel. The rum essence also sounds like it adds a nice edge to keep things from becoming too saccharine. I have tried both Coconut Sun and Candied Lychee, but would really love to try this one! USA

  • Brandon Rodriguez says:

If the fragrance smells anything like how that cake looks. IM IN!. That buttery boozy gourmand is a must have. “Transports to a place of pure bliss” and a cheat day. What can be better than that. I’ve tried several 7 virtues coconut sun and blackberry lily. They were great scents naturalistic smelling and good projectors. Embodying their inspirations. They leaned a bit too feminine for me, but this would be fantastic on my wife. Maybe I’d steal it here or there.

  • The name ‘7 virtues’ is unique and special because most people rely on just a few and leave the others on the shelf as they go about their day. Buttercream Haze sounds as if it’s an amped up confection with a richness that would be hard to contend with. May just be my nose but women seem to enjoy the sweeter varieties of fragrances but as the seasons change the gourmands seem to become a hot topic. The care that went into designing this is appreciated. Synthetic mass-production and lack of quality controls are understandable but yet when niche perfumery delves into health and wellness of it’s wearer that deserves acknowledgement. Would love to try this but the “vetiver elemi” on the website sounds interesting and one I may check out one day. A layered cake and plethora of eco-friendly ingredients is a welcome addition to a real fragrance lovers collection. From USA

  • I’m a sucker for gourmands and Buttercream Haze seems like a true dream for anyone with a sweet tooth. Olya’s review felt like a story rather than a typical fragrance write-up, which I loved. I could almost smell the toasted caramel through her words!

  • autumnblue9 says:

This sounds like a fragrance that wraps you up in a blanket of nostalgia. I loved the part where Olya compared it to a familiar diner where the server knows your order. I can’t wait to experience this buttery warmth myself. I’m located in the USA.

  • scenchanting says:

Olya’s review gave me a full sensory experience, I could practically taste the maple syrup and smell the rum essence. I’ve been a fan of 7 Virtues for a while, especially their Vanilla Woods, and this feels like a perfect addition for fall. Cozy, creamy, and completely edible in spirit! Thanks for the draw! I am in the US.

  • I am really drawn to how Olya described the balance between all that delicious sweetness and the sophistication of sandalwood. She made it sound like a perfume that moves from playful buttercream to something smooth and elegant as it dries down. I can already imagine that creamy tonka and cashmere base wrapping around the sweeter notes. This sounds like a cozy but polished gourmand I’d wear all through autumn.
    Cheers from USA.

  • whispering moonlight says:

I am intrigued by how Olya balanced the description between gourmand sweetness and elegance. The buttercream and tonka bean sound heavenly, but that creamy sandalwood note sealed the deal for me. This is exactly the kind of scent I reach for in cooler months. NY, USA

  • Madden Sinead says:

The lemon zest and rum essence combo really stood out to me. It’s not your usual gourmand, and Olya captured that perfectly. I appreciate that she described the scent as both nostalgic and a little grown-up, that’s such a cool contrast. My favorite of the brand is Santal Vanille. US

  • The lemon zest and rum essence pairing completely caught my attention. Olya made it sound like the kind of scent that keeps you intrigued from start to finish. I like how she showed that Buttercream Haze isn’t just sugary sweetness but has a grown-up depth to it. Thanks for the lovely review. I am in the US.

  • foreverscents says:

As someone who only recently started to indulge in gourmand fragrances, I am happy that there is a gourmand renaissance. Buttercream Haze truly sounds like the perfect Saturday morning fragrance. I love diners and pancakes and maple syrup, so this fragrance would be a joy to savor.
    I live in the USA.

Thanks for the delicious review! The 7 Virtues Buttercream Haze feels like walking into a sunlit bakery at dawn—the warmth of yellow cake batter, soft vanilla bean, and a gentle swirl of roasted almonds drifting through the air. What really stood out is how it keeps the gourmand feel alive without tipping into heavy sweetness—the coconut milk and musk bring in lightness and breatheability. There’s a playful sophistication to it that feels both comforting and elevated. I’d love to try Buttercream Haze!
