The 7 Virtues Amber vanilla

The 7 Virtues Amber Vanilla by Olya Bar

We often find ourselves in a place where the din of external expectations often drowns out our inner voices, so it is a true gift when one finds solace in discovering a fragrance that resonates with the core of our being and a journey back to self. With this philosophy, Barb Stegemann, the visionary behind The 7 Virtues, introduced  the brand’s new Amber Vanilla, a manifesto of self-love, a testament to the beauty of being.

The concept of Amber Vanilla is a clean second-skin perfume designed not to overshadow but to amplify one’s natural scent. It’s an embodiment of aromatherapy merged with skin musks. This niche has elegantly carved its place within the perfume world by now because it resonates so well with a universal cry for comfort we often seek from our products. It feels more than an addition to one’s daily routine but perhaps more of a staple, a necessity for those who understand the profundity of scent and self-awareness.

At the heart of Amber Vanilla lies the beautiful Iso E Super. Sure, we’ve seen it in many scents before, yet it always delivers what it promises to do: a molecule that whispers secrets of comfort and reassurance to the soul. This is meticulously balanced with a gourmand note of vanilla, creating a warm, enveloping aura. The innovative blend includes upcycled sweet santal, amber, and a sheer floral pink carnation, crafting a long-lasting crescendo that celebrates the body’s delicate lines and the softness of the skin. Each note is a verse that speaks to comfort, gratitude, and the fortification of self-love. It invites wearers to indulge in tenderness and compassion, encouraging a ritual of intention-setting with every spritz.

Self-love, the inspiration behind Amber Vanilla, goes beyond a concept—it’s a practice. It means recognizing and celebrating self-worth and treating yourself with kindness and understanding. In today’s tumultuous world, fostering self-love and compassion is essential for resilience. This fragrance reminds us of our value, a protective aura that helps us navigate life’s challenges with grace and optimism.

The 7 Virtues Amber Vanilla doesn’t vie for attention; it earns it effortlessly. It doesn’t impose but invites. Its strength lies in its subtlety—a soft-spoken confidence that illuminates the wearer’s presence. It’s a scent that doesn’t just smell good; it feels good. Every drop has a story of empowerment, a narrative that champions the individual’s journey towards self-acceptance and love. A call to rediscover the love within. This perfume is an invitation to wrap oneself in the warmth of self-acceptance, to let its soft glow guide you towards a path of resilience and peace.

A tool for emotional well-being and self-expression, it’s a fragrance that softly speaks, casting a luminous glow on all facets of the self and like the rays of a sunset, softly basking our skin in the amber rays of the sun dipping into the horizon. In every bottle, a promise: the scent of self-love, waiting to be discovered.

Notes: Pink Pepper, Pink Carnation, Muguet, Skin Musks, Iso E, Ambroxan, Sandalwood, Amber, Vanilla.

The bottle was kindly gifted to me by the brand but opinions are always my own.

What appeals to me about this review is the depth and warmth that this fragrance can convey. I love how it is described as a well-balanced perfume with a Gourmand scent of vanilla along with other delicate notes that make it a long-lasting comforting scent. I love vanilla scents in general, call me obsessed, but this one sounds absolutely phenomenal and I would love to try it! I live in the USA and wishing for luck!

  • I have seen and read so many good reviews about Amber Vanilla lately. When Olya mentioned “Every drop has a story of empowerment, a narrative that champions the individual’s journey towards self-acceptance and love. A call to rediscover the love within. This perfume is an invitation to wrap oneself in the warmth of self-acceptance, to let its soft glow guide you towards a path of resilience and peace.” That’s where it got my attention the most. Self-acceptance and love. That’s what I need right now. I would like to experience that through this perfume.

I loved Olya’s line that the scent has “a soft-spoken confidence that illuminates the wearer’s presence”; this sounds like the perfect fragrance to wear when work is hard and the days are dreary. I am also curious to discover this mysterious Iso E Super note.

  • I love that Olya’s review raises the topic of self-love and its transformative power through scent. And this balance of familiar notes like vanilla and Iso E Super with innovative elements like upcycled sweet santal and pink carnation creates a fragrance that not only smells good but also resonates deeply with the wearer’s sense of inner peace and self-acceptance, that is so valuable. It is indeed a good scent for a self-discovery and finding solace in the comforting envelope of Amber Vanilla’s subtle yet empowering aroma. This all sounds so inviting and good!

Olya does a wonderful job highlighting an apparently simple but complex fragrance like this! It sounds so warm and inviting, a deep bass note to follow you throughout the day. US.

  • Vanillic scents are always so popular because of their cozy and inviting feeling. We tend to respond favorably to those warming fragrances. This one sounds like it is waiting with open arms. In maryland

  • Fragrances with IsoE super always work really well on my skin. The addition of vanilla, amber and sandalwood seem to ground this perfume into a lovely skin scent, I’m really interested in the lily of the valley and pink carnation notes. This turns it into a lovely spring scent. I’m in the US.

“A tool for emotional well-being and self-expression…” that’s what a fragrance embodies for me. They don’t always need to scream for attention, and most of the time we don’t really need that. A scent is something for ME to enjoy. To simply feel that sense of comfort in my own little bubble. Cheers from warm and cozy Ohio! 🙂

  • I do love me a good amber-y vanilla and the inclusion the other notes (most especially of sheer pink carnation) makes this sounds amazing! I live in the USA

  • I love hearing about the intention in this scent to evoke more self-compassion, using perfume more as a self-care tool rather than just smelling good. Also a your skin but better scent is bound to be incredible from the amazing 7 virtues brand! From Portland, OR.

  • What a wonderful review, and I’m so excited to try Amber Vanilla. One of the main reasons I’ve always loved perfume is that it changes my mood. It can give me confidence, energy, comfort, or sheer joy. So I’m especially intrigued by the ideas behind this perfume as one that “feels good.” I’m searching for an easy-reach, feel-good, everyday scent, and Amber Vanilla sounds delightful and just what I’m looking for. This line especially enticed me: “a fragrance that softly speaks, casting a luminous glow on all facets of the self and like the rays of a sunset, softly basking our skin in the amber rays of the sun dipping into the horizon.” I’m in the U.S., and I would LOVE to try this one. Thank you for the lovely article!

  • Over the last couple of years I have read all the reviews of The 7 Virtues ÇaFleureBon has posted. I appreciate the ethic of this company so I am glad that the site covers them and spread awareness of the work that they do and the crafting of new scents that goes on behind the scenes. I enjoyed Olya’s description of the fragrance being about self-love and understanding. That is not something one often hears about a scent. Thank you for doing the giveaway, from Canada!

  • You can’t go wrong with either amber or vanilla in dry, winter weather, and they’re both well-suited to Iso E Super skin scents. The addition of pink carnation is an interesting touch that will separate it from other fragrances with a similar concept. Stegemann’s take sounds warm and welcoming.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Live the article! I am on an olfactory journey and found that I love vanilla in almost all forms. I have the 7 virtues vanilla woods and enjoy that scent but hope to expand to other fragrances in the line. I sometimes struggle with amber but when mixed well with Vanilla I’ve found I truly enjoy it! Anywho, this is me throwing my hat in the ring but thankful for the article! It was very descriptive and helpful!

Thansk for the nice review Olya!

I really like the how much warmth and coziness this fragrance conveys. The use of Pink Carnation, Muguet and Skin Musks just feels like being wrapped in fleece on a cold day. The amber adds a touch of depth and smokiness, making it more complex than just a plain vanilla sugar.

I think this fragrance also conveys a sense of balance and groundedness.

  • right off the bat it got me because of the name. Amber Vanilla. Two of my favorite notes. And then the mention of it being more of an inviting scent has my attention. In my fragrance journey now I don’t wear many scents that overwhelmingly makes me gets noticed so this is right up my alley.
