Ten Best Chocolate Perfumes + Cacao Addiction Draw

Best Chocolate Perfumes

10 Best Chocolate Perfumes by Steven

There are so many legends surrounding the magical, mystical and health benefits of chocolate, it’s hard to know what to believe. Etymologists trace the origin of the word “chocolate” to the Aztec word “xocoatl,” which referred to a bitter drink brewed from cacao beans (it means bitter water). The Latin name for the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao, means “food of the gods.” In the Mayan Civilization it was used as currency and was a beverage imbibed before battle. Throughout history it has been touted as a stimulant, to prepare for war, addictive and as an aphrodisiac. Chocolate contains some of the chemicals produced by the brain when we fall in love, which might be one of the reasons it is so popular as a gift for Valentine’s Day and such an addictive note in perfumery.  –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

 Xerjoff Symphonium best chocolate perfume

Xerjoff Symphonium (Chris Maurice) is a chocolate perfumer lover’s dream with citrus and juicy mandarin notes, spiced just right with hints of sweet woody cardamom and a seductive musky finish. Gourmand, but not cloying; the olfactive equivalent of dark chocolate surrounding an orange creamy center, wrapped in the most delectable vanilla. Some of the earthy qualities of the chocolate accord itself, as well as the anchoring oud from Laos and Thai keep the fragrance from veering into something too candy-like to wear. -Michelyn

Strangelove meltmyheart review

Strangelove NYC MeltMyHeart (Christophe Laudamiel): Meltmyheart is one of my favorite chocolate perfumes of all time. Glowing mandarin, like the last warm rays of sun shine on summer blooms of jasmine, magnolia and rose before giving way to deeper hues of ginger and dusty cocoa. Creamy sandalwood and orris are wrapped in a passionate oud embrace.  Meltmyheart is so sensual you’ll practically swoon. Be warned, it’s addictive -Michelyn

Atelier Materi Cacoa Porcelana one of the best chocolate perfumes

Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana (Marie Hugetobler): It is no wonder Cacao Porcelana was a Pure Beauty Awards Awardee in 2020 for the Best New Niche Fragrance; this is the real thing. Named  for white porcelana criolla,  a  rare variety of cocoa, this chocolate perfume has an addictive bitterness that is enhanced by boozy rum and tobacco.  Patchouli lends a chocolatey earthiness at the base for a chocolate perfume so delectable it smells good enough to drink. – Michelyn

Montale Chocolate Greedy is a holy-grail chocolate offering for many. With its gourmand prowess, many turn to this decadent composition to satisfy their sweet cravings. Vanilla and tonka bean are equally sweet while coffee adds beautiful character to the composition.  -Steven

Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir (Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier) is the ultimate chocolate-like patchouli fragrance on the market. While many patchouli fragrances tend to be dry, herbal, and even bitter, Noir de Noir is sweet, chocolaty, and flavorful. Rose, saffron, and truffle enhance the blend while adding to the sensual personality of the perfume. -Steven

Wicked Good Gallagher Fragrances

Gallagher Fragrances (Daniel Gallagher) Wicked Good is excellence in indie perfumery. released a gourmand hit with Wicked Good. This combination of chocolate, vanilla, and tonka bean is as sweet as it can be, and the balance of ingredients is just right. The long-lasting aroma will leave you smelling delicious all day long.

BDK Parfums Tabac Rose (Julien Rasquinet) is an innovative perfume, and it combines chocolate with Turkish rose with plum and tobacco. The tobacco is dark and sophisticated while the plum is playful and delightfully fruity. Tabac Rose is a perfect, olfactive sensual encounter. Steven

Guerlain’s L’Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau Extreme is a masterful blend of cacao, patchouli, and star anise. The spicy element in the opening keeps the fragrance flavorful while the patchouli and cacao dry down retains the gourmand nature of the composition.-Steven

Dolce Passione by Pantheon Roma contains one’s favorite gourmand ingredients: dark chocolate, vanilla, truffle, honey, tonka bean, and strawberry. If that doesn’t make our mouths water, we don’t know what will! This amalgam of some of the most enticing sweet notes in the industry is a gourmand-lover’s dream!  -Steven

Nativas Empyreal (Master Perfumer Francis Kurdjian and Jerome di Marino) is a sweet combination of chocolate in the form of a cocoa scones accord combined with plum and Brazilian orange. A suede leather accord creates an element of darkness while also securing the longevity of the addictive, original blend.-Steven

Am a perfume enthusiast and love everything fragrance related . Chocolate is a love for me to eat and also to smell in perfumes . So excited for this giveaway

  • I enjoyed the photos and interesting details in the introduction. I liked the fragrance notes talk in Steven’s YouTube video. I would like to win Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana. I live in Poland, EU.

  • Cacao Porcelana sounds right up my alley. I have not tried anything from this house, but I wouldn’t mind starting with this cocoa delight!
    Thank you! Europe

  • I am a gourmand lover so i really did enjoy both the video and the description. The beginning of the introduction i found very interesting with the information about the chocolate and its benefits for the health, also really nice to have pictures of the fragrances. Steven always does a splendid job on explaining about the fragrance notes and how they smell, i enjoyed how he described his newest release Empyreal with such passion and explaining what the name means. I would be honored to to win Empyreal by Navitus Parfums.

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria (EU)

    Greetings

I enjoyed the explanation that chocolate contains chemicals that our brains produces when we fall in love in the intro of the review. From Steven video as usual it was great to hear him describe the fragrances and to what they remind him, listening to him made me want to eat some chocolate.
I would be thrilled to win his new fragrance Empyreal created by my favorite perfumer Francis kurkjian.

    Greetings from Bulgaria, EU

  • I loooove chocolate in my fragrances! So this article and Steven’s review are right up my alley. Beautiful choices – all of them I either love, or want to try.
I would love to win meltmyheart.
    I am from the EU.

  • My heart skipped beat when I saw the title of this post and Steven’s video. I was just thinking about chocolate perfumes and I was sniffing by Wicked Good sample I have hoping to buy a bottle soon. I really love the introduction where Michelyn talks about where the word comes from. I knew it was related to Aztecs but not much else. I think Sevens list is awesome. There are a couple of fragrances that sound the best to me and some of them are already on my wish list. All three fragrances in this giveaway are in those that I like, and luckily the one I liked the most from the entire Steven’s list is also included. My pick is for sure Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana. I like it’s bitterness and combination with my favorite notes of tobacco and rum. I didn’t know that the name of the fragrance refers to a type of cacao, nor that it won an award! Now I want to try it even more. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Ohhhhhhhh so excited to try Symphonium ever since Sebastian did a video on it. That orange cream center just sounds so good! Ditto with the rum and chocolatey earthiness that Michelyn mentions in Cacao Porcelana. Not so down with Chocolate Greedy, but Noir de Noir is a superb one to layer with. Enjoyed Steven’s desciption of LIDG, but somehow I never really considered it a chocolate fragrance – especially the edt. Very dusty, almost powdery with a touch of that Guerlainade citrus. Beautifully simple, but not terribly outstanding. Would love to win either Empyreal or Cacao Porcelana! US

  • Hey Steven, just found your channel and I really appreciate the relaxed and comprehensive style of your reviews (particularly compared with other YT channels that obviously overhype and feel the need to have an extreme take on each and every frag – not to mention any names… ).

As a half-Belgian and chocolate lover, I reckon my collection in need a chocolate frag to whether or not I’m lucky in this giveaway.

Given your glowing recommendation of MeltMyHeart, I would be delighted to be added to the running 🙂

Thanks for being so generous and look forward to your future videos,

    Ellis (UK)

  • Hi, guys

I would like to win Symphonium by Xerjoff, what I like from the Michelyn’s introduction is the the cacao was used as an estimulant and as an aphrodisiac, what I loved from Symphonium is the musky base, chocolate and musk is always sexy. What I liked from Steven’s video is that he said that Symphonium is very luxurious, so I could interprete with both descriptions that this is a Luxurious and Sexy Chocolate fragrance, that is the reason why I would like to win it.
    I am from Miami.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s detailed descriptions in this article. Mostly, the description surrounding Atelier Materi Cacao Porcelana. Michelyn’s wording “…good enough to drink” tells it all. This perfume sounds wonderful. Further to this, Steven’s description in his video was very descriptive: “…a little enigmatic as well” as he says. Because of both Michelyn’s and Steven’s thoughts towards Atelier Materi Cacao Porcelana, I would love to try this one should I be selected for this contest. (Please note, I am registered to this site however awaiting a confirmation email).

  • Both Steven’s and Michelyn’s reviews of these fragrances literally made my mouth water. The only desert I ever crave (besides the occasional ice cream) is chocolate! It really does hit a special pleasure spot in my brain and calms me. I haven’t tried any of the selections but if I won I would pick Melt My Heart. Thank you for the generous draw. In USA

  • msnitechemist says:

I love reading posts like this from you guys because there’s the historical aspect Michelyn goes into here, how interesting that it was used to get ready for battle and we here in the 21st century think of it for its sweet applications. Then the two of you tag team on tackling the list of the best 10, each interpreting the scent. It is really useful for someone still trying to learn more about what I like and don’t like in fragrance. I was so intimidated in stores before but through the education via this website and watching a bunch of Steven and Sebastian’s videos on YouTube, I finally worked up the nerve to go to Sephora on a rainy afternoon yesterday and stayed in the perfume section for an hour and a half, trying upwards of 30 different scents on strips (thankfully it was a slow day in the store so I wasn’t getting in anyone’s way). I felt surprised and proud that my nose could actually pick up so many notes. So thank you all for your passion here, it got me excited about fragrance and gave me more confidence (getting a little emotional here).

Of the three, I really want to try Nativas Empyreal, it sounds like an incredible cocktail mixing a Terry’s Dark Chocolate Orange with plum and tonka bean. I am also intrigued with meltmyheart since your website profiled it in the autumn roundup and draw. Thanks! I live in the US.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s video and the different styles of chocolate frags he presented. His top 3 are the ones im most interested in. After reading Michelyn’s introduction and particularly what she wrote about all 3 of the frags that caught my interest most I must say Meltmyheart, Symphonium and Cacao Porcelana all sound amazing both from Steven and Michelyn as well as others ive heard discuss them. So its a hard choice if I was to win but ever since I first learned about Strangelove NYC and Meltmyheart here I’ve wanted to try it so should I win id choose Meltmyheart. Id still very much like to try the 3 I mentioned. Thanks for sharing all of these and for the generous draw! From CT USA.

  • Chocolate is such a fun note! Michelyn, thank you for introducing me to some new chocolate fragrances. I need to try Tabac Rose. I have two BDK fragrances and adore the house. After listening to Steven’s review and reading the article I think I would like to try Meltmyheart first but would love to also enter the drawing for Cacao Porcelana and Empyreal. …and now I need to make myself some hot chocolate to get rid of the craving. ~Indiana, USA

  • Jarrid Steele says:

I love how descriptive Michelyn’s introductions are and how well she articulates the beauty of chocolaty perfumery. As for Steven’s video’s, it’s his love and enthusiasm that always wins my attention and why I watch almost all of his videos.
Based of his descriptions of the fragrances, I think I’d most like to win 100 m of Navitus Empyreal or Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s explaining about chocolate origin, how it is used and the fact that chocolate has a chemical our brain also products when we are in love. I loved Steven’s choise of fragrances. I have just tried Chocolate Greedy, but would love to try them all. I would love to win Melt my Heart by Strangelove NYC, cus because of the description is the most appealing to me.

  • What a wonderful article. Everyone Love’s chocolate Fragrances. Lots to choose from. My choice would be Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana . Since it won the Pure Beauty award best new niche . Thank you for this Chance USA

  • I am looking for a sweet milk chocolate fragrance, can you suggest one that would be good to try. I also have Navitus Serenade which has a chocolate note I’d love to hear your review on this fragrance.

  • Mazikeen Smith 24 says:

I love how we all learn things other than the notes and perfumes when Michelyn includes a brief history of chocolate. Thank you for that! You and Steven are alike, both are great teachers!
I hate my imagination when I read that during Mayan civilization they used to drink chocolate before battle, and my brain imagines a war commander saying, “Drink your coco before we go loco” Ha!
Anyway, as always, Steven brought us a great in-depth review of these great fragrances, which is very helpful especially for newbies. Thank you for sharing with us your favorite chocolate fragrances! The one that looks very promising to me is BDK Tabac Rose, as I love the combination of the notes in it. I am also excited and happy for Steven on success with his 3 new Navitus perfumes.
I would like to win Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana because of the notes and the way the bottle looks.
    Cheers from USA

  • Stephen always gives great reviews. I’m definitely a gourmand lover, I have Chocolate Greedy which is a beastly beauty to me. Chocolate is really a beautiful addition to any fragrance, to me it adds depth while still maintaining that sweetness. Navitus Empyreal intrigued me on 1st hearing Stephen’s review.

  • Chocolate is food of the gods and Love! And the taste of this divine food can not be appreciated without our nose! Two senses to experience the olfactory journey! In my taste I prefer the dark notes but open to all experiences! I’m interested on the StrangeLove NYC Melt My Heart

  • Michelyn! ❤️ I love your historical overview of chocolate and especially your reviews of Cacao Porcelana and MeltmyHeart (which sound delightful)! Steven, thank you for a wonderfully informative video! Your review broke the tie for me. If I were lucky enough to win, I would select: Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana ❤️
Thank you for this opportunity! USA

    Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana

  • I was glad from the opening to be reminded of chocolate fragrances.
From the vid I enjoyed hearing a verbal take on ten perfumes based on chocolate. If chosen, the meltmyheart. US

  • Sherin Thomas says:

Of all, I love the description of Wicked Good. I love dark gourmand intense sweet fragrance and this is up my alley..love to win this cheers from PA, USA

  • I really liked how Steven picked many different representations of the note of chocolate in this list. I enjoyed Michelyn’s discussion of the etymology of the word “chocolate” as well. I am a follower of @cafleurbonofficial (werrrrrm) and I would like to win Cacao Porcelana.

  • Oh my goodness…chocolate heaven! Anything that combines chocolate and vanilla is a favorite! Dolce Passione sounds out of this world as does Meltmyheart which is the one that I would prefer to win. I love Steven’s down-to-earth, enthusiastic reviews and Michelyn’s romantic writing style…this combined review for these delicious fragrances whets my appetite for a really sweet chocolate scent. I am in Arizona and I thank you for the daily entertainment!

  • Perfume_Madness says:

Chocolate can for sure be an aphrodisiac! Steven’s video was great and I happened to have just purchased Navitus Empyreal and its AMAZING! Would love to try another chocolate fragrance.

  • It is no wonder Cacao Porcelana was a Pure Beauty Awards Awardee in 2020 for the Best New Niche Fragrance; this is the real thing. A beautiful description by Steven and Michelyn and l am fascinated by the notes of Rum, Patchouli and Chocolate sounds like something right up my alley. I am following cafleurebonofficial on Instagram. Thanks a million from the UK

  • is one of my favorite chocolate perfumes of all time. Be warned, it’s addictive -Michelyn A house and perfumer that have been on my radar but I house that I have got no experience with I am afraid. I am intrigued by the notes especially oud and chocolate mostly sounds like a wicked concoction. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Just in case I am lucky to win I would love to win Melt my heart by Strangelove. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Sorohan Adriana says:

Vanilla, chocolate, cocoa is for me an addiction both in fragrance and from a hedonistic gourmet point of view.
I am from EU Bucharest Romania Europe

  • What I enjoyed most from both michelyns and stevens takes on the chocolate note is that each one has its own unique aspect of the scent , and then it just become which one do I want first

    Id love the atelier-materi – cacao-porcelana

It has everything I love in one perfume!

    I’m from Ireland , eu

Living in Israel until December until I return home.

  • I have been very interested in chocolate – orange combos in perfumes as of late, so Navitus Empyreal sounds right up my alley.
I also love Noir de noir and Chocolate Greedy, that I’m familiar with.
It was lovely to read about the history and symbol of chocolate from Michelyn’s introduction and Steven’s selection was inspirational and tempting.
Would love to win Navitus Empyreal.
    EU. Thanks!

  • Yousif Salman says:

  • Enjoy the history of chocolate and yea I give my girl chocolate on Valentine’s Day so that’s-now how I know why
I would like to win atelier Materi cacao porelana
Heard about tis brand and have wanted to try
    EU

  • Oh thank you Lauryn for touting the health benefits of chocolate! Makes me feel better about my dessert choices! 🙂

Steven loves gourmands so I always like to hear which ones are his faves. I really appreciated Steven’s reminder of the different types of chocolate notes/accords used and how they differ and as always his detailed descriptions of each fragrance is very helpful. So far, I have only tried one chocolate fragrance (Chocolate Greedy) so branching out to other chocolate fragrances with different qualities sounds exciting. My choices if I win are:

    1)Navitus Empyreal
    2) Strangelove MeltMyHeart
    3)Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana

Thanks for the reviews and the chance to win! In the USA.

  • Ahh. Chocolate!! I feel like Steven and Michelyn really “get” me from these reviews. I am following @cafleurebonbotanical on Instagram. I live in the US. I’d love to win ANY of these, in order of preference:
    1. MeltmyHeart
    2. Cacao Porcelana
    3. Empyreal
Thanks so much for this. A little chocolate makes life better.

  • Chocolate and candy-like perfume is quite a recent discovery for me, but I love love love Wicked Good and hope to buy a full bottle at some point. I really seem to love everything Gallagher does actually! I have found I like the sweet type of cacao/chocolate in perfume more than bitter or dark. But dark can definitely work depending on what it’s combined with!

The history of chocolate and cacao is super interesting, I’ve also studied it a bit in the past (because I love chocolate in general, and I enjoy trying different brands, especially if they’re locally produced and organic and so on). It’s funny that a bitter drink that the Mayans would have has kind of become something that capitalism thrives on when it comes to messages of love and appreciation on a day like Valentine’s! I think Michelyn did a good job of touching on some of the biggest points in the history of chocolate. I could read much, much more about it! 🙂

I’m really sorry to hear about the Instagram hack, I was following the old page and am now following the new one. My instagram account is @scentrified – same as here.

I didn’t know of Redolessence Youtube before today, but am now a subscriber and will watch some more reviews! I like the way Steven described the animalic note in Cacao Porcelana as adding some “pizzazz” hehe, and I also enjoyed that he sort of compared some, or all of the different scents, saying which ones are more sweet and so on. Great list and review video!

If I win I would love to have Atelier Matieri’s Cacao Porcelana (Empyreal would be my second option!). I live in Lisbon, Portugal, EU.

  • Michelyn’s intro was the perfect crash course into the origins of cacao and how it elicits such passion in humans throughout history.

Steven once again amazes with his effortless ability to simplify such complex fragrances into relatable descriptions anyone can enjoy and learn from. His passion for the industry comes through with every as with fragrance he talks about you can see he “gets it”.
    Picks:
1st : Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana
    2nd: Strange Love NYC MeltmyHeart
    3rd: Navitus Empyreal

Sorry to hear about your original instagram site getting hacked. I am following you on the new page.
    My user name: dub75tn
    I’m in the USA.

  • I follow you on the new Instagram under Rhifings. Honestly all of these perfumes sound amazing and are making me hungry, but I think I would love to win Navitus Empyreal the most. Between the great write up here and Steven’s description of the notes it completely sounds like something I would love. I live in the US

  • I have heard so much about Wicked Good but it is very hard to get one here in Canada. I would love to have one.
Also Montale Chocolate Greedy sounds very interesting. I would be delighted to have a bottle.
Thanks for the informative video and intro.

  • They all look to be yummy, but I am curious most about Cacao Porcelana. Sandalwood, tonka bean, rum and, of course, cocoa are too good not to give this one a try!
    Thank you!
    I am in Europe

  • Chocolate is one of my favorite notes in perfumery and I agree it is warming, aphrodisiac and addicting. I see some interesting ones here, thank you for drawing attention and for the very generous giveaway!
I live in the EU and would like to participate, my choices are:
    – Strange Love NYC 15 ml Meltmyheart,
    – 100 ml of Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana,
    – 100 m of Navitus Empyreal.

  • This is the real thing. Named for white porcelana criolla, a rare variety of cocoa, this chocolate perfume has an addictive bitterness that is enhanced by boozy rum and tobacco. Patchouli lends a chocolatey earthiness at the base for a chocolate perfume so delectable it smells good enough to drink — this will do it for me. I need Cacao Porcelana in my life!!
Europe. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

  • Francesca Brice says:

Yummy review I must say after reading about these delicious Perfumes I want to have a special shelf in my bedroom dedicated to chocolate in the perfume context! Chocolate is such an inspiring medium, and as you say it’s so often featured in gifts of love and expressions of adoration and the gourmet creations leave the mind aghast at such creativity. I have to admit I’d do a lot of things for chocolate 🙂
What’s in a name? Well I think a lot and I would be pulling some of those Perfumes off-the-shelf before any of the others because of the suggestion and nuance in the title. Most of all however its happiness that comes through here and we all need good doses of that. Pity I don’t live in Uk US or Eu!

  • I am a massive dark chocolate addict. There are ALWAYS at least 2 bars of chocolate in my fridge for those moments when I need a little pick-me-up. It has such an incredible uplifting effect on me. So this topic is right up my street!

Thanks for shortlisting several delicious offerings. I will spend some time online finding places where to purchase some samples of these. The mini reviews of these by Steven and Michelyn will help me pick the ones I look forward to trying the most.

Steven’s picks are often in line with the style of fragrances I feel drawn to. I’m glad I have a guide online who helps me find new fragrances to cherish and enjoy. Thank you!

I would love to win Navitus Empyreal because the combination of Orange and Cacao gave me the cravings. I have to try it.

I heard the old CaFleureBon instagram was hacked and quickly followed the new account to make sure I don’t miss any fragrance related news and updates. My instagram name is ronaldjapenga

    Greetings from the UK!

  • jmmcmenamin says:

I love gourmand scents, but I don’t own a lot of chocolate scents surprisingly. I learned that, basically, Chocolate = Love… and that makes sense! As always, Steven’s enthusiasm is contagious. I’d probably try a scent that smelled like wet dog if he told me about it in his usual upbeat, descriptive fashion! I’d be thrilled to try any and all of these, but in order: 1) Empyreal, 2) Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana, 3) Melt My Heart
    In Louisiana, USA.

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Wow, a great selection of chocolate perfumes. Absolutely great. Thanks for the great review, as always, Steven. I think my all time favorite is Xerjoff’s Symphonium. Many kind regards from Germany.

  • joshuabrian says:

This is great! I feel like I don’t appreciate chocolate in fragrances enough. Steven is awesome in his thorough and articulate reviews. If I were lucky enough to win, I’d choose the Navitus! I have a lot of faith in Steven, and haven’t tried the house yet.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s brief but informative history of Cacao and chocolate. It is definitely a superfood with many good properties. Steven’s video did a nice comparison between different chocolate perfumes, and it is a good one to look at again now that Christmas and the gifting season is upon us. Subtle differences among the various perfumes and some background info about them certainly helps with purchase decisions. I am a Redolessence subscriber and enjoy Steven’s videos.
My first choice, if I were to win this draw, would be Strangelove NYC MeltMyHeart with second choice Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana and third of course Navitus Empyreal. I am from USA.

  • patrick_348 says:

What I found in both Michelyn’s and Steven’s different presentations is an appreciation for the range of what a chocolate fragrance can be. We tend to think of chocolate as involving sweets and deserts, but you have only to taste a good Mexican mole sauce to know the wide range of flavor that chocolate can give in food. Michelyn seemed to describe the scents in a way that highlighted their balance and proportion. Steven’s description of Cacao Porcelana makes it my first choice if I were to win, but I would gladly claim either of the other two prizes if that were not available, with Empyreal being my next choice. Thank you so much for this drawing.

  • I follow you on the new IG account under maryann_dellarocco_finearts. I would love to win any of these amazing scents. I have been interested in the navitus scent since Steven mentioned it. I am just starting to be turned on to chocolate in fragrances. The xerjoff sounds incredible. In maryland.

  • Bruce Morris says:

I am definitely going to purchase the Empyreal to add to my small, but growing collection. I learn a lot from you and wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on your new line of perfume!!

  • I actually didn’t know that the Latin name for the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao, means “food of the gods”! And when it comes to gourmand fragrances, I do love finding ones that have a cocoa or chocolate note in it. I have had Montale’s Chocolate Greedy on my wishlist FOREVER. What’s kept me from buying it is I currently own 2 bottles of Amour de Cacao that have many of those same notes. Until I finish one of them, I’m going to wait to splurge on Chocolate Greedy.
I thought Steven’s list of 10 chocolate fragrances was really interesting. Most I had never heard of. MeltMyHeart sounds fascinating!

Of the 3 that are part of the draw, I would choose Empyreal. I love the notes and got really excited about it when Steven first launched it a few weeks ago.

    I live in the USA.

  • Melt my Heart sounds awesome, especially since it’s Michelyn’s favorite chocolate fragrance of all times. Symposim is one I’ve heard good things about. I’m going to pull out my sample of Tabac Rose and see if I can detect a chocolate note, didn’t realize it was gourmand leaning. Great review especially since I love gourmands (I’m wearing Pink Champagne Truffle today). I’d most love to win Melt my Heart or Cocoa Porcelana. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Fun review. I love gourmands, but have very few centered around chocolate/cacao. I love Michelyn’s etymology lesson at the start. Fun! And Stephen has such a gift for describing notes. I would LOVE to try MeltMyHeart. Cheers from NC, USA!

Michelyn is selling those chocolate beauties really well! The way she introduces and describes them, I am instantly convinced I would love every single one. I like the quick summaries of the notes including the origins of the materials used and of the mood that each of the perfumes evokes. I love how Steven concisely presents the fragrance profiles of his chocolate favorites. It’s really to be appreciated when one can get acquainted with many fragrances focusing on a particular note, in one short video.
My favorite would be Cacao Porcelana rfom Atelier Materi – I am just obsessed with those notes. Thank you from the Republic of Ireland, EU

  • Great choices! I’ve yet to find a chocolate centric fragrance I love but these look amazing, I would be delighted to try any of these but the Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana is the one that caught my eye. I’m in MD, USA.

Many thanks for the generous giveaway!

  • If I could win I will choose Cacao Porcelana because I don’t have this gourmand fragragrance in my collection.
“Named for white porcelana criolla, a rare variety of cocoa, this chocolate perfume has an addictive bitterness that is enhanced by boozy rum and tobacco. Patchouli lends a chocolatey earthiness at the base for a chocolate perfume so delectable it smells good enough to drink.” thank you Michelyn for this delicious description! Really smooth, creamy cacao, and a natural sweetness; not sugary or confectionery. Just like the natural sweetness/nuttiness of the bean.
I purchased “Empyreal” by Navitus and really love it! Also Tabac Rose by BDK sounds very nice and interesting to me.
Following Steven Redolessence and CaFleureBon @cafleurebonofficial new Instagram account and all others accounts was mentioned here. Thank you for this giveaway, greetings from Florida USA

  • Hello, what i learnt in the Michelyn’s introduction is that chocolate could have a positiv influence on our mood. I think it’s why i love perfumes with chocolate. The Steven Gavrielatos reviews is really interresting and the description of each perfume is very precise, but it’s difficult to make up your mind! I tried to smell “L’instant pour Homme eau extreme” today, but it seems to be discontinued (i live in France). Anyway, if i could have the chance to win one, it would be certainly “Cacao Porcelana” from Atelier Matieri, i already use the BDK “Tabac Rose” and Steven made me want to discover it. Thanks for reading! Kisses!

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Wow I love chocolate but I’ve only smelled one of these! I would like to thank Michelyn for the imagery I now have of warriors chugging hot cocoa before battle! I happen to believe everything I hear about chocolate’s magical properties. Steven’s description of Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana as enigmatic with floral nuances, rum, and spice sounds amazing! I would love to win this one.

  • macaroni023 says:

I love chocolate note in perfumes so much so this giveaway makes extremely excited. I have tried BKD parfums tabac rose and Tom Ford and those both are really good! Thanks you for good short discribtion, now I’ll know what to keep in mind to try. I would love to win Nativus Empyrial or Melthmyheart.

  • Andreea Elena Timofte says:

I really liked the Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana has an addictive bitterness to it (as Michelyn said) , I am really courious about that, but I also would like to find out about a floral leaning gourmand as Steven said about BDK Parfums Tabac Rose… I would love to win one of this 2, but for a gourmand lover any of this 10 will be perfect.
Instagram is Andreea Elena Timofte, already following new cafleurbonofficial, I live in London, UK.

  • I have been to and tried the chocolate in Central America described in the intro. What a beautiful taste and culture. Also enjoyed Stevens list, although I only own Chocolate Greedy. Interested in winning Cacao Porcelana! Thanks

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Loved the history lesson about chocolate by Michelyn. I own L’Instant de Guerlain and it’s a juice I will hopefully always have in my collection. Steven is one of the best reviewers out there and really gives you such a rich profile of the scent of these fragrances. The ones that most intrigued me were Wicked Good and Symphonium. If I were to win the giveaway, I’d like Navitus Empyreal. Thank you for your generosity! Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • Thank you Michelyn for the lesson on chocolate. I can blame all on a lack of chocolate in my life 🙂 .
I have the pleasure of being familiar with Xerjoff’s Symphonium and Gallagher’s Wicked Good. Oh my goodness are they “scentsational” 🙂 and so different. I love them both.
Michelyn and Steven, your descriptions of the three fragrances that are available in the giveaway have me desiring them all. I will be honored to win Strangelove NYC’s Melt My Heart, Navitus’ Empyreal, or Atelier Matieri’s Cacao Porcelana. I will be thrilled with any single one of these. I also follow you on your new IG page @cafleurebonofficial. My IG username is @realtyisme.Thank you. USA

  • All perfumes sound very beautiful 1
From Michelyn’s Introduction I especially intrigued by Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana- cacao with rum – sounds beautiful, even more I love buzzy perfumes.
I always enjoy Steven reviews- this time I am very interested by Navitus Empyreal after Steven introduction.
I would love to win Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana, Navitus Empyreal and Meltmyheart .

Well this is a tasty selection, I’ve got a tiny 1ml oil of MeltmyHeart and its delicious, as is Cacao Porcelana an the full on Chocolate greedy 🙂 YUM!
The food of the Gods is definitely right and Xerjoff Symphonium sounds perfect or well Wicked Good. Thanks for putting those on my radar Michelyn. Also that travel spray of Dolce Passione Steven had looks like its full of fun, I’d love to smell how they did the strawberry.

MeltMyHeart is tempting but my sample of Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana is running low and I’d love to own it.
following you @wearescentient on IG and I’m in Dublin Ireland.

  • I liked the historical references to cacao and the mention of Valentine’s Day! My choice, if lucky, would be Cocao Porcelana. Steven mentioned Wicked Good, which is on my wishlist. I enjoy Noir de Noir. Thanks for a delicious review. Mich USA

  • I always enjoy history woven into fragrance reviews and stories, and Michelyn’s intro gave great context. Steven’s reviews make me want to go buy and experience everything! I love his enthusiasm for these chocolat perfumes! 🙂 I am following on Instagram at the new @cafleurebonofficial (frw60). I’d love to win any of these and my order of preference is:
    MeltMyHeart
    Cacao Porcelana
    Empyreal

Thanks for the article and draw!

  • Pedro Candelaria says:

Im love gourmand specially thos with coffee and chocolate. Empyrial caught My atention. Great composition and master perfumes.

  • I don’t eat a lot of chocolate yet I like it in perfume. I appreciate Steve’s selection, nice combination of designer and niche, new and older. What’s the difference between cocoa and cacao?
I’d like to win Atelier Materi Cacao Porcelana.
    I’m in EU

  • Michelyn and Steven describes these fragrances so wonderfully. This is a gourmand lover dream collection. But the one that stands out for me is Xerjoff Symphonium. I would love to own a bottle.

  • Thank you for intodrucing us to this wonderful selection of best chocolate scents. I really like this note and my favorite choco scent is A-men Thierry Mugler. I live in the EU, I am suscribed to Redolessence channel and would like to win:
    – Meltmyheart Strangelove,
    – Cacao Porcelana Atelier Matieri,
    – Empyreal Navitus,
    all of them sounds amazing!

  • Never had any chocolate fragrances but definitely would love to. Some of these seem amazing in different ways but Empyreal by Navitus is one I’d really like getting my nose on!! I’d also like to check out Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir. About to go eat some chocolate

USA, Thanks for opportunity Cafleurebon.. love the reviews redolessence

Chocolate is an equivalent to joy – in food and fragrance. It has an impact to just make you happy! I think mostly I look for comfort from chocolate related perfumes, something that is cozy.
The selection as always as been very interesting. Although were I live it is not possible to most of the selection, I would just like to go to a store and experience all of them. It is always enjoyable to read Calferebon blogposts, people just have a way with words here. And this time the post just made me envisage a taste and smell of chocolate in all sorts of combinations. I could never write like that.
I would love to have all of them really, but Melt my heart sounds the best!

Hello! I liked the etymology behind the names for chocolate from the introduction. From the video, I like hearing about the notes and what they smell like, and his informative style. I would pick MeltMyHeart or Cacao Porcelana. I follow on instagram (I’m theocatmama) and am in USA.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s brief history lesson on chocolate…thank you. I alway enjoy Steven’s enthusiasm for fragrances he enjoyed and the little antidotes he turn in to the review and this review was no exception.
I would love to try Nativas Empyreal, BDK Parfums Tabac Rose, Strangelove NYC MeltMyHeart, and Gallagher Fragrances Wicked Good. But if I had to pick one I think I would go with Tabac Rose.

  • Ooh, chocolate is my favourite note in perfumery! There are so many ways to get it right and so few ways to get it wrong. The trick is ofcourse not to overdo the sweetness. All the recommendations sounded glorious. I’m grateful that less well known masterpieces were mentioned, such as Wicked Good and Dolce Passione. The selection of perfumes covers a wide range of tastes and I was happy for that as a reader. I would honestly be delighted winning any of them, like I said, you can’t go wrong! But if I absolutely had to choose I would pick Empyreal (chocolate + Francis Kurkdjian = guaranteed win). Thanks for the article and the draw! Hugs from Greece

  • Steven’s introductions always make me appreciate fragrances and thoughts behind them even more. Navitus Empyreal would be my choice. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • Awesome choices guys . The historical introduction was fun to read, and the video , and text reviews were as good, as usual. . Let’s see
-Symphonium is not one dimensional chocolate
gourmand, there’s also orange , cardamom , and Laotian Oud . Premium fragrance at its best.
    –Meltmyheart
Straight to the point review, and a niche brand that stands out with really limited edition products. I respect such approach . Sophisticated lover kind of fragrance, I’ve smelled it.
-What strikes me about Cacao Porcelana is of the way perfumer made chocolate and rum fragrance , whiteout making “something in the vain of” kind of fragrance.
    -Montale Chocolate Greedy
    I have it
    -Tom Ford Noir de Noir
    I have it
-Gallagher Fragrances , I know a few Gallagher Fragrances, but not Wicked Good , must try fragrance.
    -BDK Parfums Tabac Rose
    Another one I must try
-Guerlain L’Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau Extreme , one of my all time favorite fragrances. Doesn’t smell like a chocolate through .
    -Dolce Passione by Pantheon Roma
    Another one I must try
All three fragrances Meltmyheart , Cacao Porcelana, and Empyreal by Navitus are appealing to me . If I have to choose one , it would be Cacao Porcelana
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • I love chocolate as a note in perfume….though it came as a surprise to me that I do. Before smelling chocolate as a fragrance note, I didn’t think it was something that I’d ever want to wear. Then, years ago, I smelled Guerlain’s L’Instant Eau Extreme and I totally fell for it. I bought a bottle (the wonderful old bottle that is in the video and that has since been replaced). Since then, chocolate has been a note that I’ve sought out in fragrances. Maybe Michelyn has identified why so many of us do!

I always appreciate lists like this…and I’m delighted to see that the Guerlain made Steven’s top ten.

I’d love to win either the Meltmyheart or the Cacao Porcelana.

I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the draw!

  • I’ve heard so made theories about the origin of chocolate, addictive note indeed.
*Symphonium is well balanced dark chocolate , orange , and slightly darker base with the oud addition.
*Grown up smell for successful people, my thoughts on on Meltmyheart
*Cacao Porcelana feels like a winner to me , different and exquisite. Slightly boozy dark chocolate fragrance, best of the best.
*Montale Chocolate Greedy , I had up until recently , but finished the bottle
*Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir is special fragrance i wear only when I’m dressed up
*Guerlain’s LIDGE is already a classic
I’ll order at least 5 chocolate fragrances samples today , I love chocolate perfumes done right , quality ingredients used + certain levels of uniqueness , are both necessaries to me.
I’d prefer to get Navitus Empyreal

  • I would love to win Cacao Porcelana based on Michelyn’s review as well as the video–the description of the animalic base appealed to me and Michelyn mentioned the bitterness which leads me to think this isn’t a fluffy sweet gourmand. I thought Wicked Good was a fun and straightforward gourmand, it really surprised me and is a crowd pleaser among my friends. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I thought Steven and Michelyn both gave informative, enlightening and entertaining introductions. As far as the ones I would like to win/favorites, here’s the top 3:

    1) Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana
    2) Strangelove NYC MeltMyHeart
    3) Gallagher Fragrances (Daniel Gallagher) Wicked Good

I’m following Cafleurebon Official on IG. My handle is Brygantor_1.

  • Beverage imbibed before battle? You can learn something new in every Cafleurebon article, thanks Michelyn
Judging by your love for Meltmyheart , I think we have one special really complex scent, going through a lot of phases.
Symphonium is Ideally balanced crunchy chocolate toffee , cozy orange , special oud , high end gourmand , and I believe I’d feel in good spirits while wearing it.
Cacao Porcelana . Hopefully I’ll the rum and tobacco through the whole life of the fragrance, we’ll see.
Chocolate Greedy i own for many years
Noir de Noir – one of the first expensive fragrances that I bought.
Guerlain LIDGE I’m not a fan of
There are some new houses i need to explore.
I’m sure all 3 fragrances are special, but because of the plum , and cocoa scones accord, I’ll be happy to win Navitus Parfums Empyreal
    Thank you all

  • If I win the draw, then I would choose 100 ml of Atelier Matieri “Cacao Porcelana”. Michelyn’s intro. caused me to think that, throughout history, chocolate was revered and an aspect of luxury. Also, I appreciate the insight into each of the fragrances which were mentioned. I live in MD., U.S.A. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.

  • Sandro Mateush says:

An interesting topic that is especially relevant at this stage of the weather. I’m a sweet tooth (unfortunately or to joy) and in terms of perfumery, too
I liked Michelyn’s description of Atelier Matieri’s fragrance “Cacao Porcelana”, especially the part where “Patchouli lends a chocolatey earthiness”.
This description reminds me of the fragrance Jovoy Psychedelique, which also sounds earthy chocolate patchouli and which I really like. I also like the notes of rum and tobacco, they’re very close to me. In general, these are one of my favorite notes, tbh.
I am also impressed by the animalic notes that Steven noticed in his video. This makes the composition more intense and impressive.
Also, It would be interesting to layered it with some of my leather fragrances… it sounds perfect for me!

I’ve been wanting to get acquainted with the Atelier Matieri brand for a long time, as I saw wonderful pictures on social media and heard positive reviews of the brand’s fragrances, but unfortunately there was no opportunity.
In general, I really like the description of the fragrance “Cacao Porcelana”

From the whole list, my favorite fragrance is Noir de Noir by Tom Ford. What a great scent. And again, there’s also chocolate patchouli . So dark and mysterious. Love it!

I would love to enter for Cacao Porcelana or MeltmyHeart by Strangelove.

Thank you for these wonderful reviews!
It was interesting to learn something new.

    I’m from EU, Ukraine, Kyiv.

  • What we know as chocolate nowadays has little, to nothing to do with the ancient Mesoamerican usage for cacao. If we go with the Mexican theory, that their “Mexican Chocolate” is the closest thing to the ancient “chocolate times” , the drinks made of Cocoa were really spicy in those days.
I agree with “Food of the Gods” meaning of chocolate
Being a Pastry Chef, and die hard gourmand lover , I know almost all fragrances in Steven, and Michelyn Chocolate list.
Symphonium Orange Chocolate Cake , with cardamom and slightly candied orange slices on top of it.
Chocolate Rum Cake is what Cacao Porcelana reminds me of.
Chocolate Butter Cake is how Meltmyheart smells.
Montale Chocolate Greedy is a staple gourmand
Tom Ford Noir de Noir i have never smelled before.
Gallagher Fragrances Wicked Good is one decadent gourmand.
BDK Parfums Tabac Rose i never smelled.
Guerlain’s L’Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme … I no NOT like one bit .
Dolce Passione by Pantheon Roma , i too own the travel sprayer
Steven take on Empyreal reminded me of Orange Chocolate Ganache Cake, with slightly candied plums, the fragrance i like to win the most.
Appreciate the introduction, the reviews , and the giveaway campaign

    Hi, guys

I would like to win Symphonium by Xerjoff, what I like from the Michelyn’s introduction is the the cacao was used as an estimulant and as an aphrodisiac, what I loved from Symphonium is the musky base, chocolate and musk is always sexy. What I liked from Steven’s video is that he said that Symphonium is very luxurious, so I could interprete with both descriptions that this is a Luxurious and Sexy Chocolate fragrance, that is the reason why I would like to win it.
    I am from New York.

  • I love chocolate smell so much! Especially when I follow the diet, it’s kind of help me with my cravings, haha. I love that almost all perfumes in this list have the mandarin or orange or rose notes, fells almost like Christmas. I would like to win Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana. Europe

  • Lovely review! My all-time favorite chocolate fragrance would have to be California Chocolate by Olympic Orchids, as I was wearing it when my now-husband proposed to me <3 Another standout in my collection is 1969 Parfum de Revolte, which is a bit more complex with the addition of peach and patchouli. If possible I would love to enter to win all three…if not, I am most interested in Meltmyheart. Steven's mention of its animalic quality intrigues me — chocolate tends to go gourmand/sweet (which I DO NOT MIND) but I'd love to get my nose on an animalic chocolatey scent. Rounded out with Michelyn's mentions of last warm rays of sunshine, as well as its passionate and sensual qualities, how could one go wrong with this fragrance?

I think the winner for me would be Empyrial, love an amazing, chocolate gourmand fragrance! But honestly theae all sound heavenly so any of these would go great in my collection!

  • I really enyoy Steven’s reiews because he talks about all the aspects that I am interested in, such as the performance of each fragrance, notes and the way he percieves the fragrance.
Michelyn’s introduction is also very useful in term of ingredients.
I would like to win Navitus empyreal

  • This article and video are overwhelming, in a good way. Michelyn’s info on the history and uses of chocolate is illuminating, and I take her perfume recommendations very seriously, since she’s seemingly been able to try all the best choices… Steven’s video helped by pointing out some of the fine points of his various favorites. I’ve never tried any of these but would love to try all of them. I most like chocolate scents not to be purely sweet and milky, but I haven’t tried enough to figure out all my preferences yet. I’d be happy winning any of the prizes, most of all Cacao Porcelana. I followed the new instagram page as @mronhubbard. (USA)

Thank you for the great review Steven!

I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s intro and her paragraphs on the fragrances, particularly the Strangelove fragrance – MeltMyHeart. I did not know the scientific name of the cacao tree and I love the name Theobroma. Laudmiel has created such a masterpiece in Melt My Heart with cictrus, ginger, white florals and oud.

Steven, I’m a fan of your review style. I liked that all of these fragrances are part of your collection and you give us an idea of the differences n the fragrances.

I would love to win Chistopher Laudmiel’s fragrance Meltmyheart. I love his approach to perfumery and would love to get my nose on it.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Thanks for the history lessons
Eating chocolate is one of my guilty pleasures , and i also like chocolate fragrances. I do prefer my chocolate fragrances sweet, but also complex . Interestingly enough, I happen to know 6/10 perfumes in Cafleurebon 2021 Chocolate/Cacao list. The 6 i know are
Meltmyheart bold, but not harsh unapologetic fragrance with natural oud and chocolate , creamy iris.
I’m sure one of the few Cafleurebon readers who actually smelled Symphonium.Тhe fragrance was a limited edition , made for Fortnum&Mason , high end department store in London. That’s where I’ve smelled it.I remember the smell being really sweet , mix of chocolate pot , and Cointreau – famous French Orange Liquor , and ever slightly funky oud in the base. It surprised me that Steven and Michelyn do not perceive the booziness.
Atelier Materi fragrances are available at Jovoy in Paris. Cacao Porcelana I remember quite well smelling there for the first time. Bitter, just a bit vegetal and slightly boozy. Sweetness disappears quickly, rum tones down too. What i get is powdery cocoa, lots of patchouli, sandalwood and tonka. Sweetness is barely there , if any at all , when Cacao Porcelana settles down . And if there’s sweetness at all it comes not from the cocoa/chocolate, but from the tonka bean.
Montale Chocolate Greedy is in my possession.
Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir is how sensual chocolate-rose fragrance should smell
L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme opening is overload of star anise, the base is where the fragrance shines.
After some hesitation, I think Navitus Empyreal would be a pleasant surprise , my pick.
Cheers with Mozart Chocolate Cream Liqueur

  • 4-5 years ago in Mexico I’ve tried a few “ancient cocoa” drinks, basically Mexican scientists were able to recreate through reverse engineering , what they believed was the originator of modern day chocolate. It was a fun experience overall, but the taste was nowhere near pleasant, I’ll leave it at that.
I’ll share my thoughts on all 10 fragrances, the way Steven ranked them. 9 absolute Loves, and 1 dislike .
    10. Navitus Empyreal, tonka bean heavy fragrance , with grown-up base. Punches above its price range.
    9. Dolce Passione by Pantheon Roma, the sister company of Profumum Roma. Smells amazing, and performance is top notch.
    8. I know it has cult status in the fragrance community, especially within men in their late 30s , and older, but LIDGE i strongly dislike. Being a straightforward person, I had to be honest. It makes me nauseous every time .
    7. BDK Tabac Rose, not only the best BDK, but also the strongest and most expensive one. I get more tobacco and rose , than chocolate.
    6. Gallagher Fragrances Wicked Good, gooey gourmand
    5. Noir de Noir, I can’t get enough of it , i just can’t
    4. Chocolate Greedy, powdery cocoa and oranges
    3. Cacao Porcelana has the unusual contrast between on one hand the raw cacao powdery dustiness , tobacco , and the patchouli, and the green, almost aromatic feel coming from the addition of davana . I personally wouldn’t call it a gourmand
    2. Strange Love NYC Meltmyheart, the best from the brand . Smells natural
    1. Symphonium is photorealistic gourmand, smells like some fancy Italian dessert with chocolate and orange
All three prizes are top notch, but if I have to choose one , it would be Empyreal by Navitus
Of course I followed @cafleurebonofficial right after I learned what those despicable people did. waltherp99bg is my IG handle

  • Come on guys , I’m on a diet….
So Cacao was a beverage the warriors were drinking before battle?? Stimulant and aphrodisiac , no one would deny that.
It’s kind of funny that I do like chocolate fragrances, but at the same time I’ve never smelled even one of the chocolate fragrances in the list .. wow .
Just by descriptions alone, I’m interested in
Cacao Porcelana, feels posh and classy , the way i like my chocolate fragrances.
One of the best,if not the best chocolate fragrance on the market…Symphonium is fragrance with a character, that has a lot of layers, mandarin, orange, Belgian chocolate, musk and two different oud varieties.
Navitus Empyreal, plum ,leather , chocolate and Francis Kurkdjian, you don’t have to convince me, I’m sold. My choice if lucky.
Gallagher Fragrances and Pantheon Roma? I have to sample both brands, I’ll look for sample sets.

Wow what a fantastic post! What I enjoyed about Michelyn’s introduction is her description of Strangelove’s Meltmyheart as glowing like the last warm rays of sun shine on summer blooms – so evocative and dreamy. As someone who doesn’t like typical sweet and vanillic chocolate fragrances, I love the idea of a gleaming bright one that melts seamlessly into a floral heart.

What I enjoyed about Steven’s YouTube review is learning that he PERSONALLY worked on Empyreal, and hearing his insights into how he sees it as one of the fragrance’s creators – I liked learning that he sees it as “heavenly” even though leather is a strong component – what an interesting juxtaposition!

I am a Redolessence subscriber also and I live in the US. I would be interested in winning any of the three fragrances, but in the following order of preference:

    1) Atelier Matieri Cacao Porcelana
    2) Strangelove MeltMyHeart
    3) Navitus Empyreal
