Parfums de Marly Sedley Review (Olivier Cresp) 2019 + Classy Aromatic Draw

Parfums de Marly Sedley review

Parfums de Marly Sedley collage featuring: Justin Timberlake,  Ambrox Super©,mint, Ambrox Super©, rosemary, Sedley and a photo of Director Yvan Jacqueline (by Hernando at a recent event) collage by Michelyn

Parfums de Marly is one of Editor Sebastian Jara’s favorite fragrance brands. Each perfume is made with fine quality ingredients and there is a DNA that is unmistakable. Parfums de Marly Sedley, is no exception. It is a fresh, quietly elegant fragrance with a woody/citrus aromatic profile that is more of a lingering whisper than an intense shout. He draws a few comparisons to Byerely which was created by Roja Dove, but with Master Perfumer’s Olivier Cresps’s deft use of the Firmenich proprietary molecule Ambrox Super©, with its woody and musky tonalities added to the aromatic Mediterranean citrus, mint and rosemary, Sedley (a Norstrom’s Exclusive) is a class act with the longevity the brand is known for without any heaviness. –Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

I have always wished a Parfums de Marly fragrance, when I see all the related reviews from Sebastian, make me want them all!

  • fazalcheema says:

Sebastian says it has trademarked Ambox Super which is even a better version of Ambrox though who have smelled ambox have some idea of how ambrox super may smell. It has spearmint but it is not loud. Sedley is also different from other PDM scents in the sense it is business friendly and not as loud as others. I am in US. My fav. from the line is Herod.

  • I really enjoy Layton, Herod, Carlisle, and Percival. They definitely have that unmistakable scent or quality that they all share, meaning you know upon smelling it, that its a Parfums De Marly. I have a decant of Beyerly, but not a big fan, though I love vetiver. I have gotten compliments from it, but it has a pickle smell to my nose. I’ve been interested in this since it released. Nice review from Sebastian as always. US

  • I don’t currently own any from the line but my favorite would be Layton. Spearmint citrus will pretty much fit perfectly in my collection haha. I enjoyed Sebastian detailed review and I now know what ambrox super is. USA

  • Sebastian of Smelling Great Fragrances brought me here. I would love an opportunity to experience this one for myself as I am searching for a omg lasting business oriented scent. I wish there was a Nordstrom close to me.

  • I love the two fragrances I’ve tried from PDM (Layton and Carlisle.) Look forward to trying a fresh frag from this house as the two that I’ve tried are better suited for cooler/colder weather. As always Sebastian gives a detailed review. Love his channel as he always seems to give an unbiased take. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Great review by sebatian as always. Pdm is one of my favorite houses. Want to try their 2 new releases sedley and kalan. Hope I win this giveaway :). From NY

  • Love Sebastian’s reviews always he’s always full of great information for our fragrance community what I liked most about his review today was how he can instinctly tell authentic mint compared to fake mint from his heritage sedentary sounds amazing to me I have yet to get any pfdm fragrances in my collection and would love this to be my first please pick me lol thank you for this chance to win this amazing fragrance from an amazing house

  • I love Parfums De Marly fragrances I’ve not smelt one that I didn’t love yet, my favorite is pegasus! what an amazing and well-blended fragrance that is, I would love to smell Sedley as it sounds really pleasant, I also like that Sebastian said what he didn’t like about the fragrance, most reviews are all positive and you wonder if sometimes they are just blowing smoke instead of smelling the fragrance, Good to hear honest reviews.

  • Great review by Sebastian as always. Still wanting to try my first Parfums de Marly fragrance.

  • Mark Sweeney says:

Thanks for letting me enter your giveaway of Sedley by Parfums De Marly. Hopefully my wife won’t divorce me if i smell good. I like how Sebastion’s review calls this scent a skin scent.

  • Tyler Cashman says:

When a fragrance gets mint right it is absolutely wonderful. Like Sebastian said, mint holds a special place in my heart and brings back many nostalgic memories from childhood cooking. My favorite PDM scent is Pegasus because it is the only other one I have had a chance to smell! Also the vanilla is lovely. Great review as always… – TC

  • Sebastian’s review was spot on. Mint, but not a strong fake smelling mint. I have a decant of Sedley.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always very thorough, professional and calm. This review was nothing different. I liked how he went through all the notes and reassured me that is was long lasting despite not being loud and being a citrus aromatic.

  • I love when Sebastian describes it as a “mint bomb”! That plus rosemary and ambroxan is right up my alley. Great review! I own Delina and the feminine sampler set. I live in the USA.

  • I enjoy every video about Sebastian’s Chanel and he’s review as well
To be honest i have never smells any of this house before

  • Jason Montoya says:

Would love for my first PDM scent to be Sedley, annnd potentially followed by Layton and Herod! Thank you for your consideration!

  • mmoeller420 says:

I enjoy the detailed breakdown of the fragrance that Sebastian provides in the review. Also, having sampled this from a decant, I can say that his descriptions are spot on. My favorite PDM fragrance currrently is Layton Exclusif, as it is very dark and consuming. I love it. I want to win the bottle of Sedley, and that will make me happy.

  • Gabriel Garcia Leyva says:

Sebastian is the best way to describe that, lightness and the way it projects, I like the idea of mint and Lavender, with not the usual fruits added,
And it seems like a soft masculine, and not much florals.
    Las Vegas NV USA

  • I really enjoyed Sebastians review and how he described the bergamot as juicy and the spearmint as authentic not like toothpaste as well as the lavender and interested in the Ambrose super as well. I dont own any PDM fragrances yet but have smelled Layton and Carlisle and just got a sample of Percival today but haven’t smelled it yet. I want to try Herod, Oajan, Kalan, and Sedley very much as so far I like the house. Layton is definitely my favorite so far. From CT USA. Thanks.

  • The authentic mint note approved by Sebastian is what appeals to me the most. Layton is the only Marly I’m familiar with and I’d score it 7/10.

  • Brandon Joseph says:

I really enjoyed Sebastian’s description of this fragrance and his enthusiasm of the review. I own Herod and absolutely love it.

  • Caleb Cantres says:

Parfums de Marly always bring great stuff. The combination of vetiver and ambrox super sound really good. Great review by Sebastian like always.

  • Sebastian had me at mint. I love the smell of it as it brings back childhood memories. He also mentioned it’s more of a skin scent which would be perfect for work as I work in a very collaborative close quarter environment. I dont have a pdm fragrance yet as I am just starting my fragrance journey. I got a sample of herod and Layton and I was stunned by how gorgeous they smell. I have been saving up to buy atleast one over the holidays. Throwing my name in the hat for sedley, if it’s anything like those two I will be in for a treat if I win. Thanks.

  • Parfums de Marly is one of my favorite houses, and I would love to win a bottle of Sedley!

  • I bought a lot of frags watching Sebastian including Carlisle which if great. I work in an office where it’s open environment. Ambrox super was really interesting to know about.
    Nice I hope I win

  • Just like Sebastian, I’ve experienced and love mint and rosemary herbs in cooking. This together with the other notes makes Sedley intriguing to me. I like Parfum’s de Marly’s Herod and I’m subscribed to Sebastian’s Youtube channel. I’m in TX USA

  • Another great review from Sebastian! The way he described the mint and ambrox notes already gave me a very good idea of how this smells. Great video!

  • This really is a great fragrance. This house is really pumping out some great stuff. Sebastian is one of the first fragrance channels I subscribed to. Great review. Keep up the good work!

  • Phil J Howson says:

I feel like he was fair about grading the fragrance smell. A lot of people gave negativity to this one based on the performance even though it does smell great. I totally agree that it’s mostly a skin scent after the first few hours. Anyway, I love this one and my sample ran out, would love a bottle!!

  • I actually haven’t tried anything from the Parfums De Marly line but that’s changing very soon! September I’ll be grabbing a sample of Percival and Galloway and In the coming fall I’ll definitely have to try Layton / Layton Exclusif and Carlisle. I really enjoy Sebastian’s reviews and I am glad he covered how long this fragrance lasts and it’s projectivity. Sometimes it’s good to have a fragrance that isn’t super loud. One of my favorites in that category is Mandarino Di Amalfi. I’d LOVE to start the Parfums De Marly journey with a brand new bottle of Sedley. Thank you for your giveaways and reviews as always!

  • jay everett says:

Seems like a great fragrance and i am curious about the dry down and silage.. count me in for the Giveaway.

  • The bottle for this looks awesome! Personally Layton is my favorite and I’m excited to try out this one!

  • mforce20000 says:

I like what sebastian said about the authentic mint in this scent. I dont like when the mint smells like toothpaste as well. Looking forward to trying this scent! My favorite from the house is either Layton or Carlisle.

  • Review was cogent and informative. Intrigued by the spearmint I keep hearing about. Now, come to daddy for the win.

  • I was able to test this at a nearby Nordstroms and I really like Sedley. I don’t find it to be a powerhouse but something very pleasant and elegant. I agree that it is very classy and stays close to the skin but I overall I do enjoy it.

  • I love how Sebastian’s video brings to my attention a fresh scent from Parfum De Marly (PDM). My favorite PDM is Herrod.

  • I liked learning about Ambrox Super. I love amber fragrances. I think Hamdani is my fave of the PdM that I have tried. I’m in USA.

  • I’m excited to try this one. I’ve experienced lots of designer and I’m just starting my journey into niche.

  • Cornelius Thompson says:

I enjoyed Sebastian YouTube review of perfume de Marley Sedley because of his use of the notes mints interaction with patchouli. I was interested in how the incense would interact with the bergamot. I am in need of one niche fragrance that is not to strong. I am planning to reenter the workforce next year and I need an office setting fragrance. I feel that perfume de Marley Sedley would be a great confidence booster on my next job. My favorite perfume de Marley is Carlisle.

  • Philip Ashley says:

This is a great scent but a tad weak in projection for a pdm release. But should work great for the office! Would love to win a bottle!

  • Sebastian is an awesome reviewer and broke this down as perfect as possible imo but my favorites are layton and herod I’ve been wanting to test out a fresher sent and this sounds perfect so thanks for the chance to win this and I hope I win it as I never seem to have luck in things like this but never know unless you keep trying lol.

  • I enjoyed Sebastián’s honesty, it’s not a loud, beastly fragrance but it sounds pleasant and mild, perfect for an office and I need a solid office fragrance. So far my favorite PDM fragrance is Layton exclusif.

  • Sebastian is excellent at reviewing fragrances at a variety of levels. Despite his extensive knowledge he never comes across as a snob. His reviews break down fragrances excellently for beginners.

  • Sulman Khan says:

Huge fan of Parfums de Marly, as well as Sebastian. Layton, Godolphin, and Carlisle are my favorites currently. Sebastian’s insights always tend to be spot on, and his comment on the mint scent resembling true Mediterranean mint really resonates since I’m from the region as well, and am definitely interested in trying out this fragrance!

  • Christopher C. says:

Spearmint and citrus sounds great to me. I already own Godolphin which I love, and would definitely like to try this new offering.

  • Sebastian’s review was spot on. Good longevity but doesn’t project. A solid, safe release from PDM. My second favorite freshie from them behind Percival.

  • John Marcello says:

Big fan of PDM and have Herod and Pegasus in my collection and a big fan of Olivier Cresp as well. Sebastian as always great job with the review.

  • I really like how he explains how he can tell real mint fragrances because of his childhood experiences. Can’t wait to try this after I win the bottle. It will be my first from the house.

  • isunnychaudhary says:

Spearmint and Amrox Super which I believe is a super combination and plus point? Gives a woody dry down so I am surely up for this fragrance. I love how honest you are as always that its not gonna blow you away as its a skin scent.
I am excited that I can win this

I love the bottle which is blue and transparent.

I personally love Perfum De Marley Herod.
I enjoy this fragrance more than Tobacco Vanille. Tobacco and Vanilla.Herod earns a place in my top 5.

    I am from Georgia, USA

  • Karl Bellagio says:

I really like Percival myself and if I don’t win will be getting a decent. Always appreciate the honest reviews and would have been better without hat! But seriously I can always trust the reviews and especially enjoy the comparisons to other fragrances!

  • I appreciate this review by Sebastian of Parfums de Marley Sedley. An aromatic Ambrox Super Minty office type scent that last but does not overpower the room as described. A beautiful bottle too. Thank you for the draw. I live in USA.

  • platinumdust says:

I love how thorough Sebastian is in all of his reviews. My current favorite is Delina Exclusif but I’ve not smelled that many yet. Sedley seems like it would be one of my favorites since I love mint and Ambroxan/ Ambrox Super.

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s unique perspective and vast knowledge in his reviews, yet he keeps it fairly simple and straightforward. Parfums de Marly seems like a really strong brand with a great selection of scents for people who want that next level above designer frags. There isn’t anywhere to smell them in person around here so I’ve been considering ordering some samples of ones I’d like to purchase one day. Layton and Oajan would be the first ones I get.

  • House Perfume de Marly is probably my favorite brand of fragrance right now. I love pegasus and have a decent of hearod coming. I like the knowledge of the ingredients Sebastian has on house perfume de marly sedley and his explanation on this sent. I would love to have this sent the mint and Ambrox super mixed sounds amazing would love to indulge my nose with this wonderful sounding fragrance. Thanks for the opportunity

  • PDM is my absolutely favorite house, and I actually own most of their fragrances and none of them ever let me down.
I’m pretty curious about the ambrox super vs ambroxan. I can’t wait to put my nose on it!!!

  • This is my absolutely favorite bottle design from the Parfums de Marly lineup, with its pretty, blue, translucent appeal. I enjoyed that the fact that this fragrance isn’t so loud. It sounds as inviting and seductive as the bottle. My favorite scent frim the brand is Oajan. (Commenting from USA.)

  • My favorite part of Sebastian’s review was the detailed information he gave about Ambrox Super. Very interesting to say the least.

  • Pearl Thorpe says:

Simply love Sebastian’s reviews! I am definitively a fan of Parfum De Marly and have Delina. and Galloway. I want to actually get Meliora and Carlisle. Would love to receive Sedley new fragrance.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews, as they are always enlightening and thorough. I really appreciated hearing about Ambrox Super, as that makes me salivate with anticipation. And, along with that, he gave us full honesty, highlighting the “con”, that it doesn’t scream/announce you. That’s okay for 2 reasons: 1) I gave more than enough fragrances that ‘announce’ me, and 2) sometimes you just want people to walk by you and be like, ‘Whoa! Who is smelling that good?’ So, I…..Want…..This! Please and thank you.

  • Sebastian has a very in depth way of describing the note breakdown in this video. I certainly have had a chance to see other reviews on Sedley by the House of Parfume De Marley by other niche fragrance connoisseurs, but this is a very good description of each note that Sedley possesses. I’ve learned through this review to pay attention to authenticity of ingredients such as mint for example, and how even the slightest difference can change the experience of a fragrance. Not only does he give us the fact that this fragrance is fresh, but how, and why it’s fresh. Good job Sebastian Sir!

  • Doc2SmellG8 says:

I especially enjoyed when Sebastian was saying the mint is authentic and he knows from growing up in the Med. I could see the fond memories in his smile when he spoke.
This might be my current favorite since it is so different than the other’s I have had a chance to experience.

  • C Q - Making Perfect Scents says:

I liked how Sebastian described the spearmint in the fragrance as being true mint smell versus a toothpaste mint smell. I love this house and own Layton & Herod. Being that I live in Florida, fresh scent are what I gravitate to. My Nordstrom doesn’t carry PDM, only online. Bloomingdales does carry PDM but not all of them. I would love to get me nose on this.

  • His channel brings up a lot of diverse content on different brands, which is something I like a lot.
Parfums de Marly has always been a brand I admire a lot, and I’d love to try a new bottle of this gorgeous fragrance by master perfumer Olivier Cresp.

  • Matt Helvick says:

I’m so curious about what a real mint can smell like with ambrox. Sebastian always does a great job describing the notes and how they hit your nose or offering up a similar smelling frag.

  • I am always looking to try new fragrances. Sedley sounds awesome! Ambrox super and spearmint?! You got my attention!! I would love to smell this fragrance!

  • Joseph Wilson says:

I love how very informative Sebastian is about a fragrance (no sugar coat). He made Sedley sound awesome. I currently dont own any PDM fragrances, but I have my eye on this one and Layton. Thanks for the chance

  • Joseph Wilson says:

  • Sebastian’s video was great! Can’t wait to try this because of the combination of super Ambroxan and mint. Because of Sebastian, I was introduced to Herod also by Parfums De Marly. It is now one of my favorites.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s in depth review including thorough note descriptions and times when Sedley could be worn. I like Layton, Herod, and Carlisle from Parfums de Marly and those are the only I have tried. I would love to be able to try Sedley. Thanks!

  • I really enjoyed the review. I’ve been a subscriber for some time now and even purchased many of his suggestions on the designer side. I’m fairly new to the community and I don’t own any niche fragrances. If I win this will be the best since I’m starting off with one of the best houses in perfumes in my opinion. Please enter me to win. Ty

  • rashun.moss says:

I enjoyed that Sebastian paints a picture of the fragrance . It’s especially helpful when you’re in a situation where you don’t have the opportunity to try the fragrance out , his detailed descriptions makes it much easier to visualize the dynamics of Sedley .Unfortunately I don’t own any PDMs but my favorite right now is Habdan but I have yet to smell a PDM that I did not love .

  • Nice review from Sebastian! His reviews address always helpful; I appreciate how he spoke of the authentic mint note in Sedley. Sedley is one I’d like to try from Parfums de Marly.

  • Thank you for the detailed review of Sedley! I appreciate how you describe the notes of the fragrance and I learned about what ambrox super is. Sedley sounds great with the set of notes. Parfums De Marly is one of my favorite houses. Love your reviews!

  • Great
review — ambrox super sounds very interesting! Layton was my first niche fragrance, which I like a lot. I love freshies and would love to try out Sedley!

  • Sebastian never fails with his reviews, awesome job. So far my favorite PDM is Layton and waiting for the cooler weather for Herod. I’d like to try Sedley it seems interesting and I want to try it even more after watching his review.

  • Lisa F Collins says:

I have never tried PDM fragrances. I love Sebastian’s description of the natural mint in Sedley. When ever he waxes poetic about a particular note in a fragrance you know it is going to be good. I live in Arkansas and finding Niche and even some designers can be difficult if you are wanting to sample in person. I have to depend on the internet or go to major cities like Dallas or Memphis to find higher quality scents. I hope I win this.

  • Arthur J Phillips says:

I’ve had a chance to sample Sedley and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed Sebastian’s thoughts on it as I always do. His breakdown reminded me of what I enjoyed about the fragrance when I sampled it a few weeks ago. I hope to win a bottle!

  • I own Carlisle and I think sedley would be a perfect addition to my one day full collection of parfums de marly frags. Thank you! USA

  • Scott Wilbur says:

I love Sebastian’s reviews. He did a great job describing this fragrance. I love PDM but haven’t bought any yet although Carlisle is a definate wnt too. Thanks for this opportunity!

  • shawn Morris says:

I watch all of Sebastian’s reviews and would love the opportunity to win this bottle.

  • bigscoundrel says:

I like that Sedley is not a loud fragrance like the rest of PdM offerings. I love my loud fragrances but sometimes you just need subtlety. My favorite is Layton. I’m in the USA.

  • Good review as always by Sebastian. I like that it is an aromatic My citrus fragrance that lasts even though it might sit close to the skin. I am opening up more to mint as a note and the woody dry down sounds good. My favorite from them is Layton Exclusive. In the USA and thanks as always for the giveaway.

  • I am a big fan of PDM right now and love their fresh offerings like Percival and Galloway! I can’t wait to try this one out.

  • diamond2171 says:

Sebastian draws you in with the descriptions. I love the scent of mint and this brand is new to me. Without his review I wouldn’t know about a lot of fragrances.

  • Dawn Filler says:

I am always looking for a good mint fragrance. When I saw Sebastian’s perfume review of Sedley I was thrilled to hear it smells like real mint not a toothpaste fake scent which I dislike. I want to test this perfume soon!

  • Parfums de Marley is hands down my favorite house. I have been soo interested in this since it’s launch. Sebastian’s review was outstanding as usual.

  • I’ve never sniffed a Parfums de Marly frag, but Sebastian’s reviews always make me curious. Since I love mint and rosemary (and incense) this sounds like one I’d like. I’m in the USA and subscribe to LFSG. Thanks for the draw!

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s explanation of Ambrox Super. Up until this point when reading the notes or sampling Sedley, I just assumed they used regular ambroxan. I love the realistic minty opening and the fact that this fragrance can be used in close quarters without being too loud as some PDM fragrances tend to do. My current favorites from Parfums de Marly are Layton and Carlisle, but Sedley would be great for the warmer weather.

  • Armen Kaprelian says:

Loved the background info on ambrox super, and sounds like a very interesting freshie!

  • Again a nice job by the best reviewer out there, both on Cafleurebon , and on Youtube. Minty , aromatic , vetiver , trow some bergamot into the mix with pleasing base. Pure classic. If i win i’ll give it to my dad for his birthday . He is a huge aromatic fan , and Vetiver Guerlain is one of his favorites. He’s birthday is early October , so fingers crossed.
Love my bottle of Delina .. i mean “regular” Delina – haven’t tried the Exclusif yet.
    Thanks for the generous giveaway.
    Cheers from VA

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

I’ve only gotten my nose on Layton from PdM but this house is one that intrigues me the most. Sebastian paints a really good picture of Sedley. Its scent profile seems as if it fits my personality so I’d really like to grab a bottle. Thanks.

  • Raven Jackson says:

I loved how you acknowledged that this scent is a skin scent. Might be my new office scent.

  • Sebastion was marvelous in how he described the authentic mint and aromatic notes in Sedley. Layton is my favorite from Parfums de Marley. Cheers from Oregon!

  • I have sampled / smelled all of Parfims De Marly fragrances , except Sedley , Kalan and the new Cassili for women. What a great house. I do have love and have relationship with mint fragrances. Some i love, some i can’t stand.Good to know Sedley is not some overbearing toothpaste type of scent. Just like Sebastian I can stand toothpaste mint.
Fresh aromatic, mint , bergamot, incense with hefty dose of ambroxan , count me in 100% .
My favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance is by far Habdan – it’s UNREAL how good it is…to me at least.I’ll never get rid of it …no way.One of my all time favorite fragrances.
    Thank you

  • Jason Grace says:

What I like about Sebastian’s video is when he prints on-screen all of the ingredients, such as spearmint, Ambrosio Super, etc.

  • I also grew up with mint; putting it in my drinks, food, desserts, chewing it, and even just rubbing it in my hands to smell it. There is definitely a huge difference between real and synthetic mint notes. This sounds like a nice counterpoint with the synthetic Ambrox Super. The fragrance also sounds like it has a BdC vibe.
    I really like Pegasus.
Im in the US. Thanks for the draw

  • another gorgeous one by parfums de marly. the quality of parfums de marly is outstanding. i just love sebastians videos. hes so insightful. my favorite fragrance by parfums de marly is definitely delina. USA

  • Would love to try this, I love mint fragrances and would like to see how it mixes with ambroxan

  • luisquezada1 says:

The way Sebastian described the notes makes me want this fragrance a lot. Specially the mint scent. Wonderful

  • PDM fragrances seem to receive quite strong favorable reviews. I don’t yet own any of their products, but Sebastian’s review is compelling! I also wonder how this one compares to one that I’ve gotten compliments on, Mugler’s Kryptomint.

  • I’m a big fan of PDM. That said, I do also love more discreet scents, especially for the office. This sounds like a lovely scent. Thank you, Sebastian for an informative and balanced review.

  • Being a Barber I’m used to lavender, fresh and bergamot scents. Back in the days , when I was younger I considered vetiver , lavender , mint and all aromatics to be way too mature for me. After all my grandpa is wearing Guerlain’s Vetiver for 40 years. Now I think otherwise , and I do enjoy aromatics a lot . Sedly sounds really good , especially for a barber like me.
My favorite PDM is Layton Exclusive , and i’m happy to own a bottle. I also like the original Layton , and Godolphin. Thanks for the review, and the giveaway. Positivity all the way. USA

  • Parfums de Marly became a top notch brand in such a short period of time . Fresh aromatic with combination of mint and fruitiness, and patchouli we all love. Just like Sebastian I grew up with fresh mint,
so I can easily tell if mint in fragrances smells natural, or not. Also I’m Pastry Chef,
so my love for mint comes naturally. Beautiful fragrance is what I expect.
Personally I know Parfums de Marly for Herod. One of the best fragrances in my relatively small for Sebastian standards collection of 73 bottles. Makes me feel like I’m THE king of the castle Haha
Appreciate the review , and the giveaway campaign
    USA

  • I love Sebastian’s trustworthiness. He just seems like a guy you can believe. I haven’t tried this PDM but I love mint in my fragrance and I’m looking for a great office scent. This sounds perfect. My favorite PDM would be Layton (only because I get so many compliments when I wear it). U.S.A.

  • victorpandolfe says:

Just purchased my first Parfums de Marly bottle last month (Layton) and I’m really looking forward to try this one. Great review as always Sebastian!

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of PDM Sedley. It sounds like a fresh, aromatic, minty experience with a long lasting ambroxen base. I love all the Parfums de Marly fragrances I have tried. I love Carlisle, Oajan, Herod, Layton, and Layton Exclusif. I am from the USA.

  • Michael Nevis says:

Sebastian really knows his fragrance and his take on the mint being authentic was what I really enjoyed about his video.

  • I like Sebastian style of description!!! I like PdM perfumes. and this pergume sounds really perfect for hot weather- mint+ ambroxan. US

  • I don’t have a favorite from this line, but I keep hearing great things about it. Sebastian always has great review–I can’t say enough. Thanks for the review and the draw. I’m in the USA

  • Thank you so much for the great give away , Sebastian’s review was spot on as usual and Mint, not tooth paste mint and not a strong synthetic smelling mint. USA CALIFORNIA

  • Thank you so much for the great give away , Sebastian’s review was great as usual , starts with the notes price, concentration ! what I likes about it the perfume is the mint note not tooth paste mint and not a strong synthetic smelling mint. USA CALIFORNIA

  • citizenkage says:

Parfums de Marley is probably my favorite house. I love Layton and Carlisle among others. I haven’t tried this one yet but I can’t wait to. Sebastian is a top notch reviewer. He’s help guide me in great directions on my fragrance journey.

  • Edwin Paraiso says:

Great review by Sebastian, like how he described the notes specially how the Ambrox Super and mint. Somewhat surprised that Nordstrom in San Francisco doesn’t have PDM in the store, they have them here is Seattle where I had a chance to smell and sample Sedley. This one is a like for me, so my favorite is Layton.

  • I loved this review!! Sebastian is one of my favorite perfume YouTubers. I am new to Parfums de Marly. I got my first bottle in June when my boyfriend was in London and he made a special trip to Harrods for me. He bought me Layton Exclusif. I totally fell in love with this perfume house and just recently bought Delina Exclusif. Sedley sounds gorgeous. It sounds like a combination of fresh and crisp (the juicy citrus and mint opening) and warm and spicy (those beautiful incense notes and ambrox super!) at the same time.

  • Great review as always from Sebastian: I am always hesitant with mint and I’m glad to hear he feels it is a natural mint scent. My Nordstrom doesn’t carry this line either. I’m in the US and I’ve never sampled this line. Thanks!

  • Sebastian directed me to this page. He’s always so detailed in explaining every ingredient in a bottle. He really caught my attention when he mentioned bergamot and that PdM used authentic spear mint. If he approves then i believe him. Love how this is an office scent. Looking forward to smelling this scent in the near future. Good luck everyone

  • I enjoyed sebastian’s review ! He really highlighted that special super note. I am very cureous about it ! Sebastian always does a great job of describing the main accords and how the fragrance feels. My favorite Parfums de Marley is a hard choice between Layton exclusive and Herod. Layton exclusive probrably wins.

  • So excited to try this one. Aromatic on the citrusy side in one hand and aromatic on the woody side on the other hand, that is what makes this fragrance so appealing to me. I just ordered a sample of this house’s Carlisle EDP based on another review by Sebastian. I’m in the USA.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews and this review was no exception. I like how he points out that Sedley tends to last a long time without being quite as loud as other PdM releases. I love most of PdM’s offerings, and I’m really excited to try this one.

  • I’ll say what I’ve said on Sebastian’s video. I got a chance to get my nose on this and I absolutely love it! It doesn’t seem to be highly regarded in the community, but I think in time thetmy will come to realize what a masterpiece it is!!

  • Obviously a fresher fragrance we got here – fresh and fruity start , minty , lavender and the other aromatic notes , with ambroxan and woods too. Sounds super good , but the transparent bottle I’m not convinced . I much prefer my non-transparent bottles of Oajan and Delina Exclusive . Call me perfectionist, but bottle design, looks and the way it feels is important to me.
Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly , but Delina Exclusive is breathing in Oajan neck all the time.
Thank you for the top opportunity USA

  • Always enjoy Sebastian’s videos. I love how he went through all the notes, then described each of them as the fragrance progresses. Sedley sounds amazing, especially because of the mint, sandalwood, and vetiver. Definitely a must try for me. My favorite Parfums De Marly is Layton Exclusif. I’m in the US. Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  • There’s only one Nordstrom of the like five in my area that carries Parfums de Marly, and I didn’t even find out they were there until recently! The opening of the fragrance with the bergamot and spearmint sounds lovely and refreshing for summer, and it’s great to hear that they avoid the toothpaste note. The light touch of incense combined with the stronger aromatics in the heart sounds lovely too, and I’d love to smell the ambrox super in the base, since I like the characteristics of ambroxan but too much of it can give me a headache, so I’m hoping that ambrox super wouldn’t have the same negative effect. I’ve never tried a fragrance from Parfums de Marly before! I am in the US 🙂

  • Sebastian brought me here. Authentic mint! PDM is one of my favorite houses with Layton probably being my favorite scent of all time. I would love to try PDM’s take on a mint scent though!

  • When I think Parfums de Marly I always think Pegasus . Sure PdM do have a lot of top quality fragrances like Oajan , Herod and Layton , but I do not get how Pegasus is getting so little attention. As much as I like my 10ml decants of the other 3 I’ve mentioned , my 125ml bottle of Pegasus I cherish most. Smells fantastic , lasts over 10 hours on skin , and projects beyond strong – fills a room . Compliments galore too. Never had a chance to smell Sedley – my Neiman Marcus do NOT carry Parfums de Marly too 🙁 . We need some clarification from both Parfums de Marly and Neiman Marcus what exactly is going on. I don’t get why some Neiman Marcus stores do carry the brand , but some don’t ?!?
Vetiver ,citruses , lavender with woody notes and some patchouli in the base = suitable for most high-end occasions fragrance. Usually I do wear more tamed aromatic fragrances when I’m wearing a suit. Great opportunity-thank you all. USA

  • Great review by Sebastian. I find that mint based scents go very well with my skin for some reason. So far I’ve tried Layton, Layton exclusif, Herod and Carlisle. Love them all. This is by far one of my favorite houses.

  • Excellent review by Sebastian and I love the explanation of Ambrox Super! I also love his description of the notes and that this is a skin and office scent. The mint in this one definitely has me intrigued. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s breakdown and opinions on perfumes. I like that he specifically mentioned that this is a skin scent. I really love that about this perfume. I love Parfums de Marly but I don’t have a favorite now.

  • I am intrigued by the spearmint note. I always worry about the toothpaste effect, but this note sounds beautiful in Sedley. I like the other notes, especially the lavender, rosemary. and Ambrox. Usually Parfums de Marly are quite strong; this one sounds a bit gentler, close to the skin, yet long lasting.
I have tried Herod from Marly.

I am in the process of testing out Parfums de Marly. My favorite so far is Delina. I haven’t yet tried Sedley but Sebastian’s video talked about the mint note. That sounds intriguing as I love the smell and taste of mint. I use it quite a bit in my cooking.

  • I really like Sedley I was able to sample it once. I really think that it’s a very sophisticated and delicate scent. I really like Olivier Cresps’s fragrances and this one is great too!
