Monsillage is the Montreal-based perfumery of perfumer Isabelle Michaud. This house is one of my most pleasant discoveries of 2011. One of our loyal readers sent me samples of the first four fragrances by Mme Michasud and Aviation Club was my favorite of those first four. After that review published Mme Michaud asked me if I would like to try her newest perfume Vol 870 YUL-CDG.
Attimo L’Eau Florale was created by Annick Menardo (Bvlgari Black, Le Labo Patchouli 24, Guerlain Bois d’Incense, Ms. Menardo more recently collaborated on Jean Paul Gaultier’s Kokorico) and Jean Pierre Bethourt of Firmenich.
Ragna Rostad- Ruffner wants to warm our darkest days [and longest nights!], and I’d say she’s accomplished just that in her newest perfume- her limited edition seasonal offering, Solstice Rose 11.
Natural Perfumers Guild Sr. Perfumers Adam Gottschalk, Anya McCoy, Christie Mashell, Elise Pearlstine and JoAnne Bassett create natural fragrances for the 13th sign aka Ophiuchus; EIC Michelyn Camen is an “Ophiuscus”. Astrology or Astronomy?
I have been enjoying the number of recent collaborations between artists olfactive and visual. We’ve seen photographs, books, and illustrations inspire excellent fragrance collections in 2011 alone. The only one left out of that mix was moving pictures. That is about to be rectified with the partnership between Perfumer Andy Tauer and Writer/Director Brian Pera.
Mr. Pera is collecting a number of short films under the title of “Woman’s Picture”. Three of these films will have a fragrance designed by Mr. Tauer to accompany them. The first Woman’s Picture to have both film and fragrance is Miriam.
