My olfactory skills were to The Strange Case of the New Absolute. Upon arriving at Ms. Zorn’s laboratory Over The Rhine in Cincinnati I was presented with one of her latest compositions “Meerschaum”.

Confession: I have a tiny quantity of real Tibetan deer musk tincture; sweet, rich, fruity and floral with that slightly fetid fecal funk people talk about. Christopher Brosius’ aim was to prepare a potion similar to what he imagined real musk to smell like.

Amouage is perhaps the most successful of the ultra-luxe perfume Houses because of the oversight provided by Creative Director Christopher Chong. Opus IV is among the best in their entire line. Jacques Flori’s composition easily equals Mr. Chong’s philanthropy.
