Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits Review (Dominique Ropion and Julien Rasquinet) 2022+ A Festive Giveaway

Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits review

Despite the hectic combination of holiday preparations and year end work commitments, December is always one of my favorite months.  It is the time where my far-flung family always manages to find a few days to come together and enjoy the cheer and wonderment the season brings. The week between Christmas and New Year is when I am finally able to sit back and start to relax.  The presents have long been opened, there is no morning rush to get the kids off to school and if we are lucky, there will be beautiful New England snow for some outdoor sledding and snowman making fun.

It is at this point when I can finally reflect on the year that has sped by much too quickly and make some resolutions for the one to come. With the wood fire roaring, keeping us warm against the hollowing winter winds, I snuggle up with my husband to enjoy an eggnog latte with splash of Kahlua, laugh with my sisters, who have graciously fought the holiday crowds with young ones in tow, to join us in Connecticut for Christmas.  Holiday sweets, our time-honored favorites as well as a few new recipes my mother always happens upon this time of year, are abundant and no amount of willpower can keep me from indulging.

These are the things that make it all worth the effort and bring such joy to my heart.

Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits by Julien Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion is the embodiment of the season, a truly comforting scent that captures everything the holidays have to offer.  It is the kind of perfume  you reach for without a second thought because it is just the thing to remind you of all the best parts of this often crazy time of year.

Scene of Leonardo di Caprio as Jay Gatsby in the Great Gatsby 2013

A boozy gourmand with restraint and balance; it is not going to give you a holiday party hangover or toothache. Perfect for men or women, Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits suggests a proper holiday soiree: crystal snifters of amber rum clinking, spontaneous laughter, a variety of treats passed on silver platters as well as a hint of tobacco lingering on the wool sweater of your favorite uncle as you lean in for a hug.  As the evening grows late Raised Spirits remains cozy with creamy vanilla woods, soft and enveloping like your favorite cashmere sweater. Your eyelids grow heavy but there is still a pleasant warmth emanating from within even though all that remains of the fire are a few embers.  You tip back that last bit of spiked eggnog before heading to bed, a sense of peace and contentment washes over you.

There is nothing melancholy or dark about this exquisite fragrance, Raised Spirits is sure to do just as the name proposes, bring cheer and joy to all who partake in its festivity.  Navitus Raised Spirits is pure holiday delight in a bottle. Cheers!

Top Notes of Pimento Leaves, Salted Butter Fudge Accord & Dark Rum; Middle Notes of Caramel, Sugarcane & Brown Sugar Syrup; Base Notes of Cashmere Wood, French Oak, Tobacco & Madagascan Vanilla

  • Holidays are great, indeed.
Before I moved to New England (Massachusetts) from Latin America, I always thought of white Christmas all the time. Now, living outside of Boston, while celebrating and gathering around for the holiday events, it’s great to have a cozy, boozy, warm fragrance as Raised Spirits by Navitus Parfum.

Happy holidays, and a great 2023 to all.

  • You had me at the perfumers but reading the review and notes?? My goodness. I’m so intrigued by that touch of salt in the butter and caramel along with the rest of this lush blend! Fingers crossed!
    Thank you for the opportunity.

  • What a perfect holiday fragrance.
    Sounds yummy.
    Can’t wait for Christmas dinner.
    Oklahoma USA

  • Fudge, caramel, syrup, and cashmere? This sounds wonderfully cozy. I can imagine it gently hugging me by the fire, not unlike the favorite sweater feeling Rachel talked about. I have yet to try a Navitus fragrance, but this one sounds delightful. Reading from North Carolina, USA.

  • This Fragrance definitely sounds like Winter & Holidays. Love the notes. Salted butter, rum, sugar, tobacco. Navitus Parfums great Fragrance house. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • What really interested me in Rachael’s review was how the perfume was compared to a fun Christmas celebration with your family, no melancholy or darkness, just pure wither fun. From TX USA

  • Just the name alone sounds like such an uplifting joyous scent! Raising my spirit is exactly why I wear fragrances. It is the experience, the way applying a fragrance can completely change your mood and affect your day. A boozy gourmand is exactly my style and the notes described sound like everything I love about the holidays. I would love to have the opportunity to experience this beautiful scent profile! Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Wow! Julian and Dominic working together on a perfume? These are two of my top five noses. Love the way reviewer describes a boozy Christmas. I’d love to win and live in Indiana.

I love the image of an elegant, but comfortable holiday party that Rachel creates, and the perfume notes sound divine. USA

  • This perfume sounds so wonderful! what a delicious treat. I just adore rum notes in fragrances. Boozy and warm during the holidays is the best kind of fragrance to wear in my opinion! I am from MA USA 🙂

  • I have been so wanting to try Raised Spirits, and this review only made me more eager. I love Dominique Ropion’s and Julien Rasquinet’s creations so much, and the image of a holiday soiree encapsulates what I want to smell like all winter long.

    I live in Illinois, USA.

  • Hello and thank you for another giveaway. I admire Julien Rasquinet and Dominque Ropion. Both are amazing perfumers, I am excited to test and perhaps own a bottle of their creation.
    I am from US and a follower of Instagram @cafleurebonofficial @dubaiscents @navitusparfums @redolessence

  • Holiday delight in a bottle…..yes, I’d love to try. I’ve heard a lot of raving reviews for this one. Rachel paints a lovely picture of her holidays. Thanks for the chance and happy holidays to all. USA.

  • The way this fragrance is described, it sounds like it’s not overly sweet yet still gourmand. The notes of Salted Butter Fudge Accord Caramel, Sugarcane & Brown Sugar Syrup sound scrumptious! I have own several Navitus fragrances but they are all freshies so I’d love to add a gourmand creation to my collection!
    I live in the USA.

  • I haven’t tried many boozy gourmands before but all of them have been too boozy for my taste. However, Rachel gives me confidence in her review that this won’t be the case with this one and I think this is perfect for winter season

  • I think Rachel summed up this time of year nicely. As the cool weather comes in, so do we seek shelter among warm people, places and things. Very glad to hear that Raised Spirits immediately introduces balance to the booziness and gourmand qualities, as it’s often very easy to overdo it on the sweetness in these kinds of fragrances. Never can say no to a hint of tobacco either, despite the higher frequency vibe – which, is actually apt for the holiday season. I’ve always felt this time to feel considerably more energetic, as if the hustle-and-bustle of shoppers, traffic, vacation planning and overall excitement contributes to a vast bubble of paradoxical relaxed anxiety that spreads to every corner of the country. What better way to unwind from this clamorous cascade than to dip the beak into a rich, olfactory elixir to both dampen and refine the senses? And from 2 perfume icons to boot? Sounds lovely. And perfect for the holidays. Unfortunately, all my “favourite” uncles have long since passed, but I won’t say no to a hug from someone that truly needs one. Who knows, perhaps in time we can cultivate a culture in which perfume hugs will become commonplace and sweet smells will replace sweet teeth. I’ll raise my glass that. Happy holidays to everyone reading, and especially to the Cafleurebon staff, who keep the new discoveries pouring in. Tireless work deserves tireless praise. Canada.

  • “A boozy gourmand with restraint”: very intriguing! I’d love to try Navitus Raised Spirits. (clever name, too.)
    I live in WV, USA

  • Wow, Ropion and Rasquinet, what a great pair of perfumers! Any review that uses the word snifters has thumbs up in my book, haha! I enjoyed the cozy imagery of this review.
    Thanks from Canada!

  • Rachel created a perfect picture of family festivities by talking about her own family gatherings at this time of the year. Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits seems to capture that spirit beautifully. While I am not a big fan of gourmand perfumes, I shall make an exception for Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits 🙂 I watch Steven’s video reviews a lot (I am a Redolessence subscriber) and I am looking forward to Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits, which has been created with his creative direction. With his in depth knowledge of perfumes, and very talented perfumers behind Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits, it’s going to be a lovely perfume. The notes in Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits are very Christmas like and from Rachel’s description, I can almost smell the perfume. Thanks for the review and draw. From USA.

Aside from a duo of the most renowned perfumers in the fragrance game today, that note breakdown has my head spinning with excitement to try this offering. I’m somewhat new to boozy scents and not really much of a partaker of spirits but I do enjoy the elements they bring to fragrances. I’m especially intrigued by the sugarcane, brown sugar, and salted butter fudge accords. Really appreciate the generosity of this giveaway offer and hope to win. Many blessings from Va, USA!

  • Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits sounds like an elegant, comforting gourmand. Notes of rum, caramel, sugarcane and salted butter fudge(!) makes me think it might be a bit too sweet but I trust Rachel that the woods balance the composition. Sounds festive and I would love to try it! MD, USA.

  • Navitus Vivamor i own , all-purpose, pleasing all year round fragrance I wear on regular basis.
Raised Spirits is more party like, festive, slightly boozy with tobacco, I like the way it develops .
Like Rachel implied with well dressed Leonardo di Caprio as Jay Gatsby picture ,Raised Spirits doesn’t smell childish att all. Luckily the tobacco is noticeable, and just just a faint addition
Because of Rachel I imagined wearing the fragrance with tailor made Gray Wool Suit, and pastel green V-neck pullover
Thank you Rachel , Redolessence , and Navitus Parfums

  • Rachel laid it out, a boozy gourmand. One of my favorite scent families and I love it. New Jersey, USA

  • I was struck by the balance of notes and accords I truly enjoy but rarely seem to find within a composition as described. I find the notes to be as captivating as they are alluring, even on paper. I’d love to experience that cloud while I enjoy the fellowship of family and friends!

Thanks for the giveaway and wishing everyone all the best in the coking year!

    Warmly,

    Jack Linos

  • Rachel’s description paints this to be a perfect winter scent – cozy and comforting. Love the idea of a fragrance being like a warm sweater. I live in the US.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice review Rachel.

I liked that Navitus Raised Spirits is not an all out gourmand or boozy fragrance, rather one that has restraint and class, while at the same time being joyous.

The notes in this are fascinating, specifically the pimento leaf and the salted fudge accord.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Navitus Parfums fragrances are really good, made with quality ingredients, and composed by renowned perfumers . In my opinion they make gourmands exceptionally well.
I know most of their fragrances, excluding the latest ones , and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1. Soir Exclusif
    2. Serenade/Empyreal
    3. Exralt Nuit/The Embrace
I’m a strict teetotaller, but I love boozy fragrances, wearing cozy sweaters, Raised Spiritswould be great addition to my collection. I can’t go wrong with festive sweet , and boozy fragrance composed by Julien Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion
All profiles I already follow, @waltherp99bg

  • If it’s referred to Jay Gatsby you know its refined, and gentlemanly. This is another house I have not tried yet also, but have wanted to for a while. Thank you for the draw! In the US.

  • Rachel, you absolutely captured that feeling of warm, contented comfort after the rush of holiday celebrations settles and everyone gets to sit back and relax for a bit (hopefully near a roaring fire). I love the idea of a perfume that captures that feeling—warm, sweet, boozy, smoky—especially with a decadent vanilla and woods drydown. Navitus Raised Spirits sounds perfect for the season. Thanks for the review.

    I’m in the midwest, USA.

  • Aubade (Lyrik) is collaboration between Julien Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion is the best Navitus fragrance I’ve smelled . I’m glad to know Raised Spirits is again made by the two. perfumers , with a different profile of course.
Delicately sweet, festive , cozy , and even playful, anyone could wear Raised Spirits , and enjoy the scent especially during Christmas time.
In my husband and mine, mostly shared fragrance collection, there’s already 3 Navitus fragrances Lyrik , The Embrace and Navus, and I’d love put Raised Spirits on our fragrance shelves
    Thanks for the draw

  • Rachel take on Raised Spirits made me think of Christmas, and also making Kahlua Rum and Chocolate Poke Cake , with caramel glazing.
    I love such joyful gourmands.
There are two Navitus Parfums I have , Vivamor and Serenade .Vivamor smells a bit like Pineapple Upside Down Cake with saffron.Serenade reminds me of Chocolate Ganache Cognac Cake, with candied orange peel on top.
A lot of famous perfumers worked with Navitus, Raised Spirits is made by Julien Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion , I wonder what they cooked , Kahlua Rum and Chocolate Poke Cake fragrance, or something else. Jorge Lee did great with Vivamor and Serenade
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Rachel brought so many memories, and turned back time to my mid 20s , when I was drinking Eggnog Latte, heavily spiked with a few extra dark rum shots. I almost saw our own family gatherings in a few days, and dad smoking his Cohiba Siglo cigars.
My favorite Navitus Parfums fragrance is Navus , my husband is into Absolutio , and Vivamor . One of our family brands .
Rachel almost made me do it, I’ll treat myself with Eggnog Latte with BC 18yo Caribbean Dark Rum
Cheers, and thank you for the opportunity

What sparks my interests about Rachel’s review of Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits. I love the cold wintery weather and the holiday season. Celebrating the holidays with family along with special foods and desserts. I also love my warm, cozy, boozy, and gourmand fragrances…especially this time of year. Navitus Parfums Raised Spirits perfumed by Julien Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion would be the perfect fragrance this time of year and sounds like the perfect gourmand fragrance. I am from the USA.

  • With notes of caramel, salted butter fudge, dark rum, and Madagascar vanilla. Described by Rachel as a boozy gourmand with restraint and balance. Definitely one to sure raise my spirits! Would love to try this exquisite Navitus creation by Juliet Rasquinet and Dominique Ropion. Happy holidays!! TX USA

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’m very interested in trying this fragrance. I like certain fragrances made by Ropion, I’m interested in trying something from the company which Steven is a part of, and it sounds enticing. Also. I became further interested in trying this fragrance when Rachel says: “There is nothing melancholy or dark about this exquisite fragrance, Raised Spirits is sure to do just as the name proposes, bring cheer and joy to all who partake in its festivity. Navitus Raised Spirits is pure holiday delight in a bottle.” I live in the U.S.A.

  • Wonderful review Rachel! What sparks my interest about Rachel’s review is learning that Raised Spirits is a boozy gourmand with restraint and balance. That definitely addresses a concern of mine as I find most holiday too be way too much and way too sweet. One that is more balanced with the bitterness of tobacco and soft creamy woods tempering the ambery rum sounds like one I would very much like to try. I live in the US.
