I began ÇaFleureBon 13 years ago on March 22, 2010 and as of 2023, the CaFleureBon editors reside in five countries and each of us curated one of 14 fragrances in The Jovoy X CaFleureBon13th Anniversary Box. We are so honored that Francois Henin and Jovoy Paris believed in us yet again (Make it Musk was 2021) and thank his dedicated team and the brands that pulled it together –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief

So here we are today, Michelyn Camen along with the CaFleureBon family selected 14 beauties, unique, chosen by the team, delivering not only just 14 niche perfumes, but also something very personal. Thank you ÇaFleureBon and to all, I hope you will all enjoy as much as we did in this collaboration. Discover without further delay the selection of the ÇaFleureBon team, the reference blog in the world of perfumery, exclusively for Jovoy! – François Henin, President and Founder of Jovoy Paris and Jeroboam.

Cherigan Fleurs de Tabac was initially intended for men – but it possesses a much wider appeal, due to its sublimely smoky, leathery evocation of tobacco without the actual presence of tobacco itself. Its combination of vanillic elements with vetiver creates the trompe-nez which seduces us with fluid sensuous ambiguity – Ida Meister, Deputy Editor and Natural Editor USA

Etat Libre D’Orange Frustration by Mathilde Bijaoui is a complex vanilla gourmand with a delicious dark soul and a cozy scrumptious heart. Vanilla is the main player, surrounded by warm spices, resinous depths, and the decadently luxurious silk texture of an expert-level rum–infused chestnut puree dessert.-Nicoleta Tomsa, Senior Editor, Romania

Histoires de Parfums Fidelis is a true scented symphony that immediately transports me back to Dubai where traditional Arabic culture weaves its way throughout a global society. Its bold blend of coffee and saffron, resonate with the jammy rose along with amber and oud in such a harmonious manner it will never be mistaken for another. –Rachel Watson, Sr. Contributor, USA

Jovoy Paris Remember Me by Cecile Zarokian: There is a Russian Proverb, “Where there is tea there is hope.” Escaping the Soviet Union, my paternal grandfather was able to take his father’s Samovar with him to Ellis Island, before settling in Brooklyn N.Y. My grandfather made the tea very strong, so he would hand me a cup that had been prepared with condensed milk, sweet, with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Remember me…memories–Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief, USA

Micallef Note Vanillee is a silky, soft, warm vanilla soaked in a rum embrace, followed by the most staggering ambered vanilla with an exquisite occasional waft of jasmine.- Sandi Lundberg, Associate Contributor USA

MDCI Parfums Chypre Palatin by Bertrand Duchaufour is one of the most exquisite embodiments of chiaroscuro, which is the true spirit of classic chypres  MDCI Chypre Palatin is a chatoyant gemstone.-Ermano Picco, Editor, Italy

Parfum d’Empire Cuir Ottoman with its plush animalism and chilly florals made me a leather – and Parfum D’Empire – lover for life.  For me, this perfume set the standard for modern floral leathers. –Lauryn Beer, Senior Editor, USA

Plume Impression Murmure d’Ete composed by Quentin Bisch is effusive and invigorating but at the same time comforting. This scent feels like a pristine cloud surrounding me. There is an amalgamation of fresh green tones and fruits dancing with the softest woods and an airy sugariness which is simply delicious- Karl Topham, Senior Editor, U.K.

Scent of Woods Pain et Chataigner: When one thinks of bread, A staple food in many countries across the world, one thinks of comforting warmth, family gatherings, belly filling suppers and serenity-Olya Bar, Editor, USA

Sora Dora Gladiator is a top choice for me because it is a celebratory fragrance with notes of grapefruit, green apple, and pineapple. This versatile and jubilant composition is exactly what I need to get the day started on the right foot! –Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor USA

Strangelove NYC’s LostInFlowers: Christophe Laudamiel extraordinary tribute to white florals garnered me so many compliments I stopped counting. One spray of it surrounds you in a “heaven-scent” mist of gardenia, champaca, and lily of the valley. Combining with the dusty straw-like element of marigold and the slightest skank and depth of oud, LostinFlowers is truly an unforgettable perfume. –RIP Robert Herrmann, Sr. Editor (who passed on October 1, 2019), Heaven

Tiziana Terenzi Casanova is a romantic beauty transports you back to Venice to at the Masked Ball. The dry spicy opening and powdery note lead to a light leather that slides right up on you. The sensuality of the warm spices, musk, and cedarwood is stunning. –Hernando Courtright, Senior Contributor, USA

Tuberose is my signature-flower and with Visiteur Cabaret Nocturne, Cecile Zarokian gives it the spotlight. Spices crackle on my skin, accompanied by a note of gin which adds a fresh and aromatic touch. – Emmanuelle Varron, Sr. Editor, France

Xerjoff Alexandria II’s spicy blend of lavender, amber, cinnamon, lily of the valley and Oud steam is as polished and refined as the individual who would wear it.-Michael Devine, Senior Contributor

happy 13th anniversary !! from many boxes of samples that JOVOY offers, this is for me the best, very diverse, i’m sure that at least 2 or 3 samples from this box will grab your attention, of course Alexandria II will be one of them, from France

  • A really interesting selection with a broad range of scent profiles. I’ve never visited Jovoy in person but have browsed the website many times and this is a great sample of their amazing and quite overwhelming products. I like Steven’s concept of a perfume guide as it’s difficult to choose when there are so many options. One of my favourite perfume purchases is the Jovoy sample box so I’m familiar with ‘Remember Me’ and it really is like chai latte turned into scent. I’m Uk.

  • Great selection. I actually own 4 full bottles from the fragrances listed, so if all others are as good as the ones I already own, than this is a fantastic selection every perfume fanatic should try. CA, US

  • I rarely miss a video from Steven but I think this is only the 2nd time I’ve registered for a Cafleurebon giveaway. Out of the 14 scents I’ve only tried Alexandria II so hopefully with some luck I’ll have lucky number 13 new scents to try. Treating fragrances like Pokemon here in Arizona USA.

  • ramsesperez52 says:

Love the variety of fragrances and how no houses were repeated. I knew some of these but most of them were new to me. The box looks very good as well (especially the sign at the top). Love how they’re not the least sellers of the houses but a more indie list of you will. Cheers from NJ, USA.

  • I love being able to be apart of this! Thank you for all that you’ve done for us to being able to have the chance to obtain fragrances even if we aren’t able to afford them. Also much love to Mr. Steven he has helped me out in so many ways in my fragrance journey. Much love and success to you guys!! Love and peace from PA USA

After reading the notes above and watching Steven’s review, I am particularly excited about Alexandria II, Fleurs de Tabac, Cabaret Nocturne, Casanova, and LostInFlowers; plus, I have been eyeing Murmure d’Ete for a bit.

I have just watched your video on the 14 Niche fragrances that everyone must try. For me as a mature man the fragrances that would interest me are, as follows, Casanova by Tiziana Terenzi, Remember Me by Jovoy Paris and Note Vanilee by M.Micallef.
These seem to be fragrances that would fit my personality . Also being new to men’s fragrances I haven’t heard of any of these until today.
Thanks Steven for another informative video.

  • I was really surprised with the price of strangelove nyc. Has to be up there with the some of the priciest juice per ml. I’m really privileged to get the potential to win and actually get my nose on it.

  • I only know two from this list – Cuir Ottoman and Alexandria II, so there is plenty of news for me. I am very curious about Strangelove and Tiziana Terenzi. Thank you!

  • Congratulations with your 13th Anniversary!
To be able to discover what the masters of writing of Cafleurbon personally think what are the most beautiful creations is of course special. The perfume creations they write their thoughts about now compiled in a box is tempting. I already know many perfumes but what struck me the most was the perfume Remember me and the sentence Where there is tea there is hope..Very current these days, unfortunately.
I found Steven’s video very clear and easy to understand.

And something I’m excited and interested in trying.

  • There are no other noses that I trust more than Yours & Stevens.
    These all sound absolutely Amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for another draw of this great box, and happy anniversary! The selection combines so many gems, and I love how uncohesively cohesive it is! The two reviews complement each other perfectly, first there is each editor commenting the perfume they selected and in this one Steven is offering his, deeper take on each of the perfumes.

  • Happy 13th anniversary to Cafleurebon and toand all the writers. What a great achievement. My favorites from the article are lauryn rethinking leather from parfum d’Empire cuir de ottoman, Michelyn relaying her story about her grandfather making tea after escaping and bringing his samovar. From Stephen, I liked his video take too.

  • Hearing Steven’s descriptions, I want to try all of them! He’s really selling them! I am only familiar with a few of these 14 fragrances, one being Chypre Palatin which is certainly a classic. I am always excited to hear about perfumes I am unfamiliar with. Lost In Flowers has been on my radar to try for awhile now. I’m from Texas. Thanks for the draw.

  • Well, my head is spinning. Between the video and the detailed descriptions of why each was chosen, I want to try them all, even ones I have tried in the past. As Steven said, there are some new ones that I also have yet to discover, and there are some old loves here too. It’s a little overwhelming, but the choices are well defended by each judge and it would be amazing to be able to sample their selections. I live in the USA

    Hello!
A great vast selection has been created, the one to fit all tastes. Florals, spicy, gourmands, chypre, oriental, tobacco-centered: the selection embraces almost all perfume aspects. I wouldn’t be really curious to test them all. As i have tested only 3 of the list, there’s definitely a lot for me to discover yet.
Thanks for the Steven’s guidance through this discovery box! By the way, the background in the video is to die for!)) I wish I had the same perfume library at my place to take my videos))).
    Greetings from Switzerland!

I think to have a collection sniffed out by the stars sounds phenomenal. Better than a one brand sampler, all these picks had to earn their way in the hard way – by being amazing. I live in NY.

  • Congrats on your 13th Anniversary! That’s a big achievement for any publication, let alone one with as high-quality posts as this one, week after week. Cheers!

This Anniversary Box will be a treat—the selections are varied in both character and notes, and represent a wide range of preferences. There’s got to be something here for everyone; MDCI Parfums Chypre Palatin, Xerjoff Alexandria II, and Visiteur Cabaret Nocturne stand out for me. I also enjoyed seeing a quick unboxing in Steven’s video, because the packaging is part of what makes this box special. You also get a sense of scale as Steven goes through these one by one—there’s a lot to unpack!

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Some very intriguing picks, hopefully I’ll be able to track down some samples if I can’t get the box. As always, great descriptions from Steven. NV, USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the wonderful review Steven.

I really like that this selection is across the board in the perfumers, fragrance families, old and new fragrance.

I’m particularly drawn towards Chypre Palatin, Cuir Ottoman, and Jovoy Remember Me.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • All 13 of these fragrances would be new for me, although I have read a lot of positive reviews for LostInFlowers and Remember Me. I took a break from the fragrance world after I caught COVID and lost my sense of smell for half a year. It was almost too much for me to bear to read up on the latest fragrance releases while knowing I may never be able to smell again. Fortunately things are MUCH better in my olfactory department and I feel that 2023 will be a fragrant year for me! This would be an excellent place to start my journey. While the list is quite varied (I see the words fruity, floral, green and light represented) I do see a general trend toward gourmand, musky, oud-forward and spicy fragrances, which tend to be my favorites. I am not usually the biggest fan of leather when it comes off heavy-handed, but Lauryn’s description of Cuir Ottoman does capture my interest. I could see myself or my husband enjoying each treasured vial in this magnificent and collection! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

Jovoy have the most incredible range of niche perfume gems and this selection is utterly enticing with its mix of new and established brands with some star perfumers (Bisch, Zarokian, Duchaufour). Steven mentioned being in ‘exploration mode’ and trying the wide range of different exquisite notes that are available in this set. Can’t wait to sample this ÇaFleureBon13th Anniversary Box. This looks like an amazing group of perfumes! This would tick many boxes (no pun intended) for fragrances or houses I’ve been wanting to try: Strangelove NYC, Jovoy Paris, MDCI, Plume Impression. What a fun way to represent the Ca Fleure Bon contributors. Steven’s video as always is a joy to watch and very informative. In US

  • sephrenia300 says:

Oh what a fascinating box!!! I really loved learning from Michelyn that Jovoy Paris Remember Me brings to her memories of her grandfather escaping the Soviet Union and bringing with him his precious family Samovar into the new world. The idea of a tea fragrance laced with hope is both comforting and appealing to me.

I thought Steven’s video review was very informative, particularly when he described how Cherigan Fleurs de Tabac surprised him with not being this super heavy tobacco fragrance, but rather one that gives plenty of attention to the floral aspect with iris, jasmine, and rose that seamlessly blends into the subtle, sensual, aspects of tobacco. That sounds like the perfect fragrance for me! I live in the US.

  • Lance Smith says:

I love all of the fragrances , such a beautiful blend and usage of natural notes.
