First encounters often mark us, etching upon us an indelible touch, so it was with Vittoria Liu from Hima Jomo, a new brand created in 2022, that I met for the first time at Esxence. The first collection showcased the region of the world that holds a certain fascination and lure for so many of us, the Himalayas.  Within those first four seasonal perfumes, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, unique plants from the Himalaya’s were incorporated into the creations. They are astounding and different, so when I was made aware that Hima Jomo were releasing a brand-new collection of three perfumes called The Treasures Collection, I was bound to be curious.

The name Hima Jomo is the combination of two symbols dear to the brand:

HIMA, the sacred abode of snow and the life-giving source for half of the world’s population.

JOMO, the divine goddess safeguarding the majestic snow-capped mountains, and the embodiment of the Joy of Missing Out.

The Treasures Collection

The Treasures Collection delves deeper beyond the seasons inspiration to capture aspects of the unique cultural life prevalent in this region. The three new releases are Loon – a delicate mineral rose, luminous and shot through with a unique pink salt accord and Himalayan cedarwood, that draws its inspiration from the pink salt mines of the Punjab, “where the mountains are, used to be the ocean’, Tchai – with three kinds of tea in the base notes elevated with florals and sandalwood, this is an ode to the high mist covered mountains of Darjeeling and the trade in tea, ‘Feel the silence of mountains and fragrance of clouds’ and Hima Jomo Pashm- the subject of this review. Perfumers for The Treasures Collection are Bertrand Duchaufour for Loon and Pashm and Barnabe Fillion for Tchai.

‘Nomads heartbeat follows the same rhythm as the mountain’ – Hima Jomo

An ode to Cashmere and the crafting of Pashmina – soft and sensual, connecting time-honoured traditions to the smell of mother earth.

Air so fresh that breath is swept from body in an ascent of mist, vistas so vast as to elicit a gasp of awe, this immense clarity hails from the herald of the world. Ancient herbal notes chime like a hammer struck bell echoing out between snow pleated peaks. I am in the presence of something immovable, primordial and ancient as if time has no meaning here and the cadence of life has a rhythm unchanged for centuries. Man and Nature intertwined as it was always meant to be.  Juniper rises freshly crushed, pungent herbal and spicy wafts in combination with a saffron like a golden fringe on woven fabric. There is something comforting and familiar along this well-trodden path that stretches in all directions through past, present and future, a millennial swath flung outwards, a fabric woven of time, tradition and place. The chill of snow infused winds carries aloft the perfumed forest, my footprints erased in drifting snow within minutes, merging with the scent of brewing tea from habitations. An invitation to partake and revive the body, entering upon the updraft into the fire heated abode, clouds of tea aromas surround and offer immediate solace, work worn hands shake out in liquid sensuality a fabric of softest tenure to be laid around my form, its textures a luxurious finishing to my own skin as if that has always been missing. Within its cloud soft fibers, a weaving of all manner of scents arise, the warmth of human skin within a musky cashmere cocoon, it is thoroughly modern and sophisticated elegance and at the same time, modernity is interwoven with timelessness and the traditions associated with these sumptuous pieces. A perfect balance of ancient and new.

The Himalayas

Herein lies the waft and weft of generational whispers, all memories are laid in cloth, nimble fingers transforming the raw animal fiber into a garment of rich texture and soft allure, so it is with Pashm, raw elemental beauty of the Himalayas woven into a sensual embrace that lingers. Revealing the tenderest touch, the brushing of a lovers barely alighting fingertips on flesh, eliciting the exhalation of surrender. The seamless, harmonious marriage between orris and Cashmir Wood is masterly, orris gives a luscious glance to the wood aspects and a sandalwood delicacy paired with ambergris is a  masterstroke finale reflecting the refinement of a Pashmina. Hima Jimo Pashm is snow-shrouded vistas, a human touch of compassion and traditions woven into permanence.

Here in Pashm I walk in the footsteps of ancestors, in their landscape, nurtured by their traditions and taught that in the weaving of life, balance, grace and beauty can always be returned to. Pashm is a scented whisper from remote, uncluttered pinnacles, wilderness and humanity reminding us that in the simplest of gestures and pure places, truth and beauty reside. Indeed, they are the Treasures in the vault of humanity.

Top: juniper, saffron, cinnamon; Heart: white tea, cashmir wood, orris; Base: Indian sandalwood, ambergris, ambrette seed

I am very grateful to Vittoria Liu founder of Hima Jomo for the samples of The Treasure Collection. My words are my own.

My interest was sparked where I read that the mid had orris. The picture I’m getting is something smooth, velvety, and calming. I love sandlewood in the base and I’m very curious about cashmere wood. Hope it’s sweet and characteristic adding charm overall. Please let me win the bottle of Pashm, from Jacksonville, NC.

  • The combination of Juniper and saffron really sparks my interest, it must blend together in such magnificent harmony. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • I like the concept, that this fragrance is a perfect balance between the ancient and the new. Thanks!

  • Hima Jomo Pashm’s name makes sense, given it is inspired by pashmina. And given the texture of the textile, the composition, indeed, seems silky and warm and rightfully incorporates notes like cashmere. I am in US.

  • This is exciting! I didn’t know Hima Jomo released a new fragrance line. I samples the initial 4 fragrances and all of them were really good! Out of the three new ones Pashm sounds the best (I am often not a huge fan of rose or tea fragrances, although I will for sure sample these). I like Pashm notes and the musky elegant elemts in combination with woody notes, orris and cinnamon. This sounds like a very sophisticated composition. I’m from Illinois US.

  • A woody spicy fragrance inspired by the region of the Himalayas that showcases nature and craftsmanship, transporting and evoking a sensual experience sounds very interesting. USA

  • Pashm sounds quite nice to me. Comforting, cocooning, a very nice and cozy scent. I liked this part from the review, “The seamless, harmonious marriage between orris and Cashmir Wood is masterly, orris gives a luscious glance to the wood aspects and a sandalwood delicacy paired with ambergris is a masterstroke finale reflecting the refinement of a Pashmina.” Would love to try Hima Jomo Pashm. Thanks for the generous draw, from the U.S.

  • All the things I love…. Rose, sandalwood, Darjeeling, cashmere, mountains…would love to try this interesting fragrance by Hima Jomo. This brand is totally new to me! I live in NH, USA.

  • This whole line sounds very intriguing, and I love the way that Danu evocatively described a “musky cashmere cocoon.” I have long been a fan of Duchaufour’s work.

How wonderfully generous of Hima Jomo and Indigo Perfumery for offering this draw. I live in the US.

  • I love that Danu’s description of Hima Jomo Pashm is resonating with the rich cultural tapestry and natural essence of the Himalayas. It sounds wonderful – the meticulous blend of juniper, saffron, and cinnamon leading to a heart of white tea, cashmere wood, and orris, culminating in Indian sandalwood, ambergris, and ambrette seed in the base, seems like an olfactory journey through time and tradition!

The way Danu paints a picture of the scent, weaving it into the fabric of life, invoking the ancestral landscape, and highlighting the seamless harmony between nature’s raw beauty and human craftsmanship, truly sparks my interest. It seems like an exploration of not just a fragrance but an intricate narrative steeped in history, culture, and the essence of existence itself.

I am from the EU (Germany)

  • Sitting in my office right now, freezing. Reading this text gives me warm comfort, so I Habe the feeling that this scent does even more so. I like the woody notes in my perfumes, and I know BD won’t go the fresh woody-amber way like too many releases choose to. Tchai sounds great as well btw. So I’d love to win this to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • I love the story and aesthetics of the brand. Summer in Paro is such a gorgeous and different scent!
Speaking of Pashm, having Bertrand mix together orris, sandalwood and ambergris with the juniper, should be one to try!
    I’m in the EU.

  • I’ve never heard of this brand but if B.D. is the nose, it must be good. The story is interesting and the note breakdown makes this sound like a true “niche” scent, leaving people wondering what it could be. I’m intrigued and would love to try this. New Jersey, USA

  • What intrigued me the most is the unusual structure of this fragrance: cinnamon and saffron in the opening and then some conventionally “lighter” notes such as white tea and ambrette seed. I would love to smell it, sounds light and meditative / grounding at the same time, with the texture of cashmere and pashmina.

I’m a big fan of Bertrand. This sounds so peaceful. The sandalwood jumps out to me. Love to win and live in Indiana.

  • Tea, snow, and cashmere: sounds like my ideal winter day! Thank you for this lovely review of the lovely Pashm, I very much want to smell it.
    I’m in WV, USA

  • ericwaynebiscuit says:

Danu’s review of Pashm was absolutely transportive! With an impending winter where snow is actually a possibility (*fingers crossed*), Pashm sounds like the perfect companion scent for the cold season. Love the pairing of juniper, cinnamon, and saffron! I’m located in VA, USA!

  • hippononamus says:

I’m wearing Autumn in Lhoka right now, so excited to see the Hima Jomo has expanded their line. I think that final line about how Pashm is is “snow-shrouded vistas, a human touch of compassion and traditions woven into permanence.” sounds the most intriguing to me. Balancing the cold, crispy juniper and orris with the warmth of saffron, cinnamon and cashmir woods sounds intriguing. I’m in the US.

  • Pashm, like the offerings from Hima Jomo that I gave been able to try, sounds fantastic. Reading the review I see Pashm as an example of peacefulness in nature, soft yet rich, and ultimately a comfortable fragrance. I am from CT in the US.

  • Max Corvinus says:

This surely sounds like a wonderful winter fragrance to be worn during the day. I like the idea of chai with juniper very much and believe that there is beauty to be discovered within this perfume.
    I’m from Zagreb, Croatia.

  • Winter peace combined with cozy sparks of warmth – such a compelling combination. I’m truly dying to smell this one. And I’m having a cinnamon moment independent of this beautiful sounding concoction. Danu describes this like a potential holy grail. Bless the winner whoever it is. I live in NY.

  • Nice review Danu! I love that Hima Jomo continues translating to scents the landscapes of the Himalayas and after plants, they bring us aspects of the unknown cultural life of this high mountain people. The genious of Mr. Duchaufour weave the threads of the cashmere into a conforting scented whisper. And , of course, sandal is present, the sweet/beige oil accompanied with the luscious buttery of the Iris and the cashmere woods. Pure and Beauty. I live in Spain, EU.

  • Hima Jomo has been on my radar for awhile thanks to the wonderful past articles about the brand here on CaFleureBon. I love the concept of the brand from the origin of the name to themes of the fragrances, and also the focus on ethically-sourced natural ingredients.

Pashm sounds like a wonderful addition to the line! Danu’s review evokes the images and feel of vast vistas and soaring heights, but also the earthliness of human skin and wood – a lofty goal for a perfume to echo in scent but Pashm sounds wonderfully successful!

I would love to try Pashm! Best wishes from NJ.

  • What sparked my interest in regard to Danu’s review of Hima Joma Pashm is the seamless, harmonious marriage between the notes of orris and cashmir wood is masterly created. Orris gives a lusciousness to the wood aspects and a sandalwood delicacy coupled with ambergris is a  masterstroke finale reflecting the refinement of a Pashmina. Thank you for the opportunity. New York, USA.

  • Shibuichi2000 says:

It’s all smooth and quiet, that profound quietness and peace, velvety and plushy, that surrounds you in a morning when it snows.
Amazing source of inspiration for the Hima Jomo creations – you’re very lucky to have the chance to sample them 🙂
    I’m in EU.

  • The freshness of the juniper with the warmth of the orris sounds so cozy and comforting. I would love to win a bottle of Pashm! I’m in MN, USA.

  • patrick_348 says:

I love the idea of fragrances inspired by mountains and mountainous regions. I would much rather smell like a cool, clean mountain than a hot, humid beach. Danu’s description makes this sound both comfortably familiar and new and novel at the same time. I live in the US, in North Carolina–where people often categorize themselves as “beach people” or “mountain people.”

  • I very like the review and the notes. Mostly saffron and cashmir wood. Thank you for the draw. I’m from Europe.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’d love to try Hima Jomo Pashm. I’m very intrigued to try it. Judging by Danu’s review of it, it seems to be a fragrance which tries to smell like a lot of different things in a particular place: in this case, a certain place in the Himalayas. Also, Bertrand Duchaufour is one of my favorite perfumers. I live in the U.S.A.

  • This sounds as smooth and comforting as the cashmere which inspired it. As a lover of all this orris and sandalwood, I would be most keen to try it. I especially love the idea of the saffron in here, leading with it’s suede-like tendencies. I’m sure it pairs beautifully with the other silken notes. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you Dany for the great review.

The scent journey embarked upon with Hima Jomo’s Pashm from The Treasures Collection is an exquisite homage to the rich tapestry of the Himalayas. Bertrand Duchaufour’s creation resonates with the divine essence of Cashmere and Pashmina craftsmanship, evoking the timeless embrace of traditions melded with the scent of the earth. It begins with juniper and saffron, creating a fresh and spicy aura reminiscent of mist-covered vistas and ancient herbal notes resonating through snow-kissed peaks. The heart notes of white tea, Cashmir wood, and orris weave a narrative of sophistication and sensuality, while the base notes of Indian sandalwood, ambergris, and ambrette seed offer a graceful finale akin to the refinement and grace of a Pashmina shawl.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Meditation in a bottle? Or an experience of huge expanse, timelessness and eternity that make us feel small and humble, maybe. It sounds amazing, but also wearable and comforting! I live in the US

  • karolinab023 says:

What a beautiful introduction to this fragrance. I want to be wrap in like in a soft cashmere sweater. Very beautiful concept for the name of the perfume. The hole description is very alluring to this new brand. I would love try out this fragrance and see how juniper, white tea and orris blends together. I am big fan of juniper. Thank you for amazing review and a draw, I am based in EU

  • Januarililjan says:

Human history in perfume. Interesting. I like the notes of this. Saffron and tea I enjoy. I live in EU.

  • Just catching a glimpse of a snow-capped mountain stirs my soul somehow. I am really intrigued by Pashm from an olfactory perspective, too… this composition sounds like it takes a different approach than the usual “cashmeran” molecule approach to interpreting cashmere. I am enchanted by Danu’s description of herbal notes chiming like a struck bell, clouds of tea aromas, and musky cocoons. Gorgeous. I am in the USA, thank you for the lovely read and for the draw.

  • Great review by Danu,
This is the first time I read something about Hima Jomo brand but it totally seems amazing! Pashm is surely one fragrance that I need to try on my own.
I love the concept behind Pashm and also the notes are surely so interesting. The sandalwood, the juniper, saffron and the inspiration of pashmina. Everything is totally amazing.
    USA here.

  • I really like the concept behind this new collection by Hima Jomo. Danu’s description was incredibly visual and beautifully done in describing Pashm’s notes and the Himalayas’ inspiration. Really interested in the Cashmere wood and White Tea’s presence in this fragrance as they sound like an amazing combo.

  • Any creation by Bertrand Duchaufour sparks my curiosity. Orris, ambergris, sandalwood and juniper all sound lovely. Interested in how these marry with the cinnamon and saffron. I would love to try this one from The Treasures Collection. I’m in the US.

  • Every time I read about Hima Jomo here on ÇaFleureBon, I find the brand’s concepts very compelling; Loon and Tchai both sound lovely, though I’m drawn more to the layered tea notes of the latter. Pashm sounds complex and layered with it’s herbal qualities, cashmere texture, and woody base. The fragrance’s combination of orris, sandalwood, and ambergris in the base sounds particularly wonderful. I’d love to try Pashm. Great review, Danu.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • The inspiration of a pashmina shawl makes sense for this smooth woody, spicy scent. The emphasis on white tea, cashmir wood and sandalwood tells me this is a calming meditative fragrance. Would love to try Hima Jomo Pashm. I’m in the MD, USA.

  • Danu’s description of a “scented whisper” interests me! I like the idea of a delicate woody perfume. I’m in the US.

  • What a beautiful opening poem. I love the mountains and snow, so I enjoyed learning about the meaning behind Hima Jomo. I have tried Autumn and Winter and love both of them, so I am excited to try the rest of their offerings. Pashm sounds quite stunning. I loved Danu’s comment, “The chill of snow infused winds carries aloft the perfumed forest, my footprints erased in drifting snow within minutes, merging with the scent of brewing tea from habitations”. Pashm sounds like a very comforting fragrance. I would love to own a bottle of it!

Thank you, Danu, for the excellent review, and thank you to Hima Jomo and Ann for your generosity. I am located in the USA.

  • I really loved all four of Hima Jomo’s seasonal perfumes, so I’m curious to try the new collection! Pashm is definitely the most intriguing, and I love how Danu describes its combination of outdoorsiness and sophistication. And, well . . . I really like cashmere. I’m in New York, USA.

  • foreverscents says:

That Hima Jomo is inspired by the Himalayas interests me. I am always intrigued by the notes a perfumer chooses to give a sense of place. With Pashm, the notes suggest coziness and tenderness. I love that there is a juniper note at the top, leading to warm cashmere and sandalwood.
    I live in the USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

This is the first time I’ve heard of this house. Thank you Danu for the introduction.
The notes, especially the white tea, orris, and sandalwood. Sound so comforting.
