Department stores: Once upon a time fragrance shopping was the domain of the department stores. And, it is likely you did it at one of the many department store still standing (RIP Takashimaya and Henri Bendel's fragrance department). And it made sense, it was one stop shopping. There was no other option. And we were happy, until…
Artisanal/ Niche: This is where the rubber (can you smell it!) meets the road. The city is blessed with fragrant options and this area is where the excitement exists. The last fifteen years or so we have smelled the proliferation of this sector and it has been a blessing for those of us that want to go beyond sniffing the surface.

Brooklyn: No sleep to Brooklyn. Well not quite yet but the borough has picked up its game in recent years. Twisted Lily was my introduction to Brooklyn's fragrance scene and now this borough is a must destination for its diversity.
This guide is sorted alphabetically with addresses, cross streets, zip codes, neighborhoods, phone numbers and websites included to make the shopping experience a pleasure one.
