The idea for the Lucid Dreams perfumes began after a real dream…I was standing on the edge of a field surrounded by trees. Meteors were raining down from the sky like tears of fire. One meteor crashed into a tree in an explosion of smoke and cinders. When the smoke cleared, I walked closer. This was no meteor. Where the tree once stood was now a tall, human-like woman wrapped in a gold shroud. She began to speak. She said she was part of a small race of perfumers that had come to earth to share their knowledge of perfumery. Each one of them a master who creates all of their perfumes around a specific ingredient. From this dream, I awoke and wrote down what would become Lucid Dreams. Each perfume centered around an ingredient in a dreamy light using the finest materials, with 30 percent parfum concentration.Michael Schrammel, perfumer For the Scent of It, and Contributor.

Lucid Dreams Santal: As I think about the Lucid Dreams series, it is clear that all my dreams may be realized with action. It reminds me all that our aspirations can indeed shape our reality. For The Scent of It Lucid Dream in Santal is a unique and impressive take on sandalwood. The Iris note adds some different earthiness to the sandalwood, creating a satiny, uplifting, exotic dream getaway no matter where your dreams may take you. For me, it took me through a sacred meditation retreat, to which I am sure to return. Awe, what dreams may come?

I like the idea of using a single note to center a theme with for a fragrance. Tonka is a wonderful fragrance note to center a fragrance around. I like the idea of an irresistible aromatic trail wafting behind me as well. I live in Maryland USA.

  • My interest was sparked by the description and review of all three. I was hoping at the end to find some sort of discovery set for the draw. If chosen I pick the Incense. US

  • I have been a big fan of Michael’s works for years but I have not had a chance to try his Lucid Dreaming series. They all sound so amazing to me. This was a tough choice but I think I will go with Tonka if I’m so lucky to win. Fingers crossed in California.

  • This is so fitting because the other night I was listening to a subliminal to encourage lucid dreaming and what would you know, I had some wild lucid dreams. I enjoyed the imagery used in the review to compare the tonka fragrance to a transparent lame with metallic threads. The sarsaparilla c02 also really intrigues me as I have yet to try it as a note in perfumery. I am from New England, USA.

  • All of these fragrances sound amazing! They had me contemplating which one sounds better. If I were to win this giveaway, I would choose Dreaming in Tonka. I like sweet fragrances a ton and most of my collection consists of sweeter fragrances. The sound of cinnamon and almonds with the sweet tonka and vanilla combo sound ethereal, though the others look amazing as well. Maybe I should sample these ones sometime in the future.

  • Well, the reviews make these all seem so wonderful it would be hard to choose. The warm hug of the Tonka is probably my comfort zone, and the Incense is where my interest traditionally lies, with the described sense of contemplation and spirituality, but if my name is drawn, I will pick the Santal version. The bran note is just too darn intruiguing and the mental get-away described in the review is something I think I will be needing as this year wears on! I do indeed live in the contiguous US.
