Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge (Chris Maurice) 2024 + Juiced, Spiced and Salacious Giveaway

Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge

Chris Maurice, born Christian Carbonnel, is a master perfumer whose creations hit you like a familiar tune from your favorite classical composer. There’s something unmistakable about his style, like recognizing that melody from the first note that hits the air, as his perfumes are created with clear and precise tempo,  they stand tall and resonate deeply – bold, vertical structures that are a testament to both his amazing technical skill and creative vision. The huge mass appeal his fragrances have on the public makes him one of the most imitated (but NEVER duplicated) noses of our time. When I think of juicy, bright fragrances that are fruity and fun, the first examples that come to mind are made by Chris Maurice  –  besides the all-time summer-popularity-queen Xerjoff Erba Pura, the golden juicy apples of Kajal Dahab, the new  Xerjoff Erba Gold, the jammy La Capitale, Manos Gerakinis zesty fig-a-licious METHEXIS – to name but a few. His talents are put to great use in Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge.

Buh-bye cherries, the summer of 2024 is all about peaches!

“Beneath the shade of a peach orchard, a handsome villain struts out trumpeting an exuberance of juicy fruit-peach, guava, nectarine and prune. The creaminess of vanilla and caramel build mouthwatering anticipation – like some salacious Peach Melba demanding to be eaten al fresco. Orris creates soft focus; a velvety fuzz under Renaissance skies. But the plot soon thickens. Childish naivete gives way to adult sensuality underscored by sensual musks heated by the scorching afternoon sun. Spices emerge-cardamom, ginger, cinnamon. Bark threatens to turn into wood: these amber daggers are hard. With one sip of amaretto, you’re reminded that even a sweet peach’s stone can be poisonous. When danger threatens you’ve got to be Machiavellian. Peach’s Revenge is a dish best spritzed cold, but not without the warmth of body heat.*

As the storytelling for Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge has whet our appetites, allow me to dive in by reading you the menu of this mouthwatering delight. I don’t know if you have memories of Tang powder juice – not the healthiest option, sure, but it definitely colored many of my childhood summers during the transitional period after the iron curtain lifted in Eastern Europe. Tang promised a taste of the “Western” lifestyle, a far cry from a naturally ripe peach, but irresistibly delicious nonetheless. The opening spritz of this fragrance brings that same nostalgia, with peaches and nectarines that are so vividly bright they almost glow in fluorescent orange. It’s like watching the intro of Ren & Stimpy episode, bursting with hyperbolized, technicolor energy and a sense of playful chaos. I am addicted!

As a child, every detail is amplified, and once the memory lane has opened, in comes a whirlwind of my 90’s childhood throwback to simpler times, and the experience of an afternoon by the seaside at a holiday resort, a kaleidoscope of bright colors, tantalizing scents, all the details filled with explosive mouthwatering joy.

Next, imagine biting into an orange cream popsicle on a hot summer day, the kind with those iconic white and orange stripes that promise a burst of “EXOTIC” flavor that is to die for, quite literally. The initial taste is a creamy blend that melts into a sweet, tropical mix of guava and peaches, each bite more drippy and creamy, as the ice cream melts. The creamy base wraps around the vibrant fruit flavors, balancing the tangy sweetness with a smooth, silky-milky, luscious texture. But in this paradise, desserts are nothing short of magical, and if the hobbits wondered about a second breakfast, I have never once wondered about a second ice cream, on a hot summer day – so in comes the luxurious peach melba: juicy, ripe peaches, perfectly poached to retain their bright, sunny flavor, placed on top of a velvety homemade vanilla bourbon ice cream. And one must taste from the adult’s plate too – the posh baked nectarines, halved and baked to golden perfection, tender and succulent and even sweeter from the slow process of caramelization, dripping with juices and mixed with a decadent mixture of mascarpone cheese and amaretto, luxurious, rich, nutty and warm, with just a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top for that delicate crunchy crust that contrasted with the soft and creamy filling.

Sarah Baker Perfumes Peach’s Revenge

Keeping it peachy all the way through its journey, somewhere along the line darker shadows grow around it, with sharp spices like cardamom and ginger. Bark first threatens, then turns to wood: and those amber daggers are hard, indeed! The curves elongate to pointy, sharp edges that still invite you to glide your finger across. But, as the saying goes “poke around and you will soon find out”.  And Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge keeps you sniffing, poking, craving, and coming back for more.

From the fuzz of the peach, to the fleshy softness of the skin-like-nectarines and from the tingling powdery tanginess to the creamy lush and silky curves – Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge is the perfume equivalent of cute aggression* – it’s so ripe, so juicy, so delicious! In psychology, cute aggression refers to the urge to squeeze, crush, pinch, or even bite something we find incredibly adorable. This reaction isn’t driven by harmful intent – but rather, scientists believe it’s a way for us to handle overwhelming positive emotions.

In three words: juicy, spiced, salacious.

In one sound: excited high-pitched squeal.

Notes: peach, guava, nectarine, amaretto, orris, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, bark, amber, vanilla, caramel, musk – in extrait de parfum form.

    I’m in Michigan!
Peaches are my absolute favorite fruit!
I would love to try it out in a fragrance! Sounds perfect!

  • Ramses Perez says:

Yeah, I was also getting tired of every new fragrance being released having a cherry note. It’s time for a new fruit to reign supreme and it looks like it’s peaches. I knew this was coming and Chris Maurice created it but did not know of all the juiciness, fruitiness and creaminess this fragrance had. Popsicles are some of my favorite things to have and even though they are overly sugared (and certainly not good for us at all now at this age), they are still a delicious treat. Nicoleta mentioned this smells just like it. I cannot help but be transported to my childhood on a hot day (like the heatwave happening now) and having a popsicle to help cool things off and being about a sense of relief. What a treat this fragrance is! I’m in the US.

  • AleksCipri says:

I love Cris Maurice creations. I love the examples Nicoleta mentioned in the first paragraph. Methexis, Dahab, and Erba Pura are amazing. I’m very intrigued and would love to sample Pearche’s Revenge because it seems that peachiness is present throughout the life of a fragrance, which is rarely the case with this note. I also love guavas, so that is a great plus. And overall I trust this brand in general and love many of their creations. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • VERY interested in this one! First off – I’ve never tried peach-flavored Tang, I had no idea such a thing existed. The one I remember from childhood was the orange drink of the astronauts – I didn’t even know it came in other flavors. Second – my favorite thing about summer is that it’s peach season (tomato season too, but peaches are my favorite). I would love, love, love to try this. Thanks for the opportunity, I’m in the USA.

  • I don’t remember peach tang, but this sounds super vivid and jarring in all the right ways. Perfect for a summer ripe with seasonal fruit. In maryland.

  • VictoriaSs says:

Nicoleta’s review of Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge captivates me with its vivid imagery and nostalgic references, making the fragrance sound like a sensory journey through childhood summers and luxurious adult indulgences. The intricate blend of juicy fruits, creamy textures, and sharp spices promises a dynamic and evolving scent experience. Her description of “cute aggression” perfectly encapsulates the irresistible allure of the perfume, making it a must-try for anyone looking for a unique and evocative fragrance.

  • David Furman says:

Juiced, spiced, and salacious….after I read the note breakdown I’m definitely a believer. Something about the bottle too. It makes me feel like the fragrance is just pure essence. No fancy labels, no unnecessary hype just fantastic juice from the jump and a journey all the way through. Would love to win this, from Jacksonville, NC.

  • Fragrance has no gender – where what you want, when you want, whoever you want, and it will suit you just fine! – but some notes are more frequently used in fragrances that lean heavily towards one end of the spectrum than the other – peach is very much one of those notes.

But as a guy, I love notes like peach, and I would take immense pleasure in owning a fragrance that has a prominent peach note that leans at least somewhat unisex – and it appears that Peach’s Revenge does just that.

Nicoleta using the phrase “a burst of “EXOTIC” flavor” and then going on to say that “darker shadows grow around it” makes me feel as though this just might be one for me: a fragrance that matches my upbeat, and good-natured personality by having peach be prominent, but grounds it in a sense of “gender neutrality” with the other notes.

To use a phrase that is used often where I’m from – sounds like a bit of me!

I like the idea of cute aggression, especially around the note of peach and guava. I would love to try this juicy creation by Sarah Baker and Chris Maurice. I’m in the US.

  • WOW, I have heard a lot of great things about Sarah Baker’s perfumes, and so happy that Nicoleta took the time to craft this lovely review. Gourmands are so special because they tap into not only the olfactive part of us, but the gustatory, as well as the very specific scent memories we have attached to food. We all perceive smells differently, and the way in which we imagine scent can vary greatly from person to person. It struck me when Nicoleta compared the fragrance to a loud squeal! It really paints a picture in the mind.

Overall, Peach’s Revenge sounds like a dream, I’d love to get to try it out!

    Hello from Brooklyn NY 🙂

  • Wow, what a captivating review! Nicoleta’s vivid descriptions truly transport you into the heart of Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge. I’m particularly intrigued by the multifaceted evolution of the fragrance—from the juicy, bright opening notes of peach, guava, and nectarine to the creamy depths of vanilla and caramel, and finally, the spicy twist with cardamom and ginger. The idea of a perfume that evokes both nostalgic childhood memories and sophisticated adult indulgence is fascinating. As someone living in Nashville, TN, I can imagine wearing this fragrance on a warm summer evening, its complexity unfolding beautifully in the Southern heat. Thanks for the chance to win this intriguing perfume!

I’m rather new to niche perfume and Nicoleta made it so approachable and easy to imagine how it smells. Creamsicles and peachy desserts are always my go-to, so naturally I’m rather captivated by this scent! I’ve seen a few people on social media talking about Peach’s Revenge too, so now my hype is through the roof! Cheers from Florida.

  • lemoncake says:

This sounds like the summer of my dreams…..full of sunny hedonistic wonder. I’ve not experienced any of Chris Maurice’s fragrances but this sounds incredible. Thank you for the review. I also love the bottle with its orange cap. I’m in the USA.

  • Chris Maurice is one of my favorite perfumers. He is a master of amber/oud combos and I love the previous fragrances he has done for Sarah Baker, with Loudo being my #1. Peach’s Revenge is a truly stunning scent. I tried it a few weeks ago and was blown away. Like Nicoleta said, the juicy peach stays throughout the life of the journey, but it’s when those spices and woods come round in the heart and base that the true magic happens. This is one of the most innovative profiles I’ve experienced in years and I would be honored to have it in my collection. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

I’m very excited to hear about a more complex peach fragrance! I like how the peac is balanced with cardamom and ginger. I love the article references to Peach Tang and Ren and Stimpy. What a fun review! -New York, NY

  • WillRhodes says:

I’ve heard such high praises for this fabulous fragrance and undoubtably this is one of the best peach perfumes on the market, plus I have no peach in my fragrance wardrobe so I would be delighted to add Peach’s Revenge!

This fragrance screams summertime. Tang powder and orange cream popsicle, wow!

I don’t have much experience with the peach note but love to try this one out for sure. Ripe, juicy & delicious.

  • The initial taste is a creamy blend that melts into a sweet, tropical mix of guava and peaches, each bite more drippy and creamy, as the ice cream melts… so ripe, so juicy, so delicious!
I loved the above part of the review.
Will be sent to UK !

  • Sorohan Adriana says:

I like Flame & Fortune which has a gorgeous tuberose! Unfortunately I am from EU and I want Flame & Fortune

  • mleenstra says:

Yes peaches are part of my childhood memories too whether it is the ripe peaches in France on holiday or the more synthetic flavoured tropical icecreams. I just love the smell.
Also love Sarah Baker fragrances, they are whimsical and inventive and would love to be part of the draw. Marit UK

  • Well, you made me drool. Everything about this sounds delicious, though I admit wariness about the hard amber wood daggers….Still, sounds like a summer spectacular and I agree with everyone who said they are bored with Cherry. It’s time for somehting new! I live in the US.

  • I was already on board with this perfume due to Nicoleta’s description of the juiciness of the peach note, but I’m even more excited to see a nectarine note in a perfume! Nectarines are my absolutely favorite fruit. I would love to try Peach’s Revenge! I’m in MN, USA.

  • I just received a sample of this and it’s delicious. This is the 1st Sarah Baker perfume zi have tried. I love the play of peaches and spice. Now I need to resniff some Tang…so funny. I would love to win. In the US

  • Eating ripe stone fruit like peach, guava and nectarine in the summer is always a luscious experience with juice dripping your chin, Combining that with warm pie spices and notes of vanilla and caramel has to be a decadent fragrance. MD, USA.

  • roxhas1cat says:

Yes, out with the cherry and in with the peach. I adore peaches. My mouth was watering reading about the peach melba with the ice cream. I did not realize that Tang came in peach flavor. I’ve had a few peaches, but they are not quite peak season yet. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Nicoleta’s review definitely brought back a lot of childhood memories with that orange cream popsicle section. The “cute aggression” that Nicoleta used to describe Peach’s revenge really caught my eye and makes me curious on how the peach plays with the other notes.
    TX, USA.

  • Oof this sounds like a date night delight! I’m not a gourmandienne but… Gold Spot with the butterscotch note was quite the hit with me! So I’m very keen on trying this. Thank you for the thorough review. Yes, I can still smell Tang and Ovaltine and later on Nescafé. Wow. Memories!
I am located in California. Thank you for the give away.

  • This sounds juicy! I have been on a peach kick lately and winning this would be amazing! From CT in USA

  • There’s been a great deal of hype around this one – so much so that it’s frequently out of stock, and sadly being put up for sale in online marketplaces at inflated prices. I was undecided before about whether I wanted to try this – I loved Chris Maurice’s other work for Sarah Baker, but I struggle with very sweet fruity scents.

This review has pushed me very much towards “yes”. Aside from the very intriguing “hyperbolized, technicolor energy and a sense of playful chaos”, I was particularly attracted by the parallels drawn to creamy tropical deserts – it sounds delicious. And then those spices, and the description of base: “curves elongate to pointy, sharp edges that still invite you to glide your finger across”. Devilishly good.

  • madamepeace says:

Oh my gosh, Nicoleta! Wow. If you have not thought about writing tantalizing food reviews, you should! I know describing perfume is very similar but I was practically salivating. You just knocked my socks off with my two favorite summertime treats, creamsicles and roasted peaches on top of bourbon vanilla ice cream. I’ve had my eye on Sarah Baker, the name has popped around, the fragrances all have sounded incredible, but because peach is a major favorite of mine in fragrances, this is a no brainer. I have tried sour peaches and fuzzy skin peaches, and even too sweet saccharine peaches and poisonous pit peaches in fragrance, and sexy leather peaches, but not a gourmand summertime photorealistic treat like you have described. Wishing and hoping on a star. I’m in the US!

  • Tang! Just that picture of the Tang package and the note list made my mouth water. . . What a delightful fragrance that sounds like my childhood summer in a bottle.

I love that this review made the comparison to “cuteness agression” – what a perfect analogy!

    I am in the U.S.

  • I’m not familiar with Chris Maurice’s work, but Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge sounds like a lot of fun. The fluorescent orange fruit notes are whimsical attention-grabbers, paired with a creamy, nutty vibe for a bit of gourmand realism, and then spiced to match. As much as juicy peach is he centerpiece, I’m more intrigued by the dry down; the bark accord and musks sound unique and textured. Great review.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • foreverscents says:

What a fantastic review from Nicoleta. I grew up drinking Tang in a 1970s American suburb, so I can relate to Nicoleta’s nostalgia. I loved how she mentioned “cute aggression” at the end of the review. Certainly that is how we will feel when wearing Peach’s Revenge. The peach, guava, and nectarine notes sound delectable, juicy, and delicious.

I like learning about the essence of Peach’s Revenge , and how the fragrance was made to encapsulate the modern Machiavelian , with juicy fruits, velvety fuzz , woods and amber.
Nicoleta Tomsa do have a point when she implied Chris Maurice fragrances do have familiar tune , they are likable colorful and often delicious. Nothing short of magical desserts are of my liking, especially if dripping with juices ,mascarpone .
Based on Nicoleta’s sterling work and my experience with Loudo and Gold Spot , with Peach’s i’m envisioning excellence once again
    Thank you so much
