New Niche Fragrance: House of Matriarch Sacre Tabac (Sucre) Ltd. Edition “Hookah Tobacco”

sacre tabac house of matriarch 1

When Christi Meshell, the perfumer for House of Matriarch read about Malek Mohammed's seemingly endless search for a hookah inspired perfume, she offered to create one for him.   Nostalgia for the long-ago gatherings began to emerge and fueled the creative process., thus Sacre Tabac Sucre was born.

Universally adored for its comforting nostalgia, tobacco has a special ability to connect us to our Ancestors and the Great Spirit. Taking his place in the sacred circle beside his Father, Malek was privy to a sacred, magical rite of adulthood.  Entranced by the sweet smoke and steady beat of the music, feelings of deep belonging, festivity and comfort were timelessly tendered. In creating his personal wish-list for his bespoke perfume,  Malek requested accents of rich vanilla, sweet caramel and spicy anise to accompany the sour burst of red and green apples.  He wanted it to be "REALLY, REALLY SWEET", with the aroma of his favorite "Starbuzz Double Apple" shisha.

  • This sounds wonderful, although the sweet accords give me pause. I normally don’t care for caramel notes. This would definitely be a sample-first scent for me. Lovely review!

  • Fazal Cheema says:

hookah can be found in almost every home in every village in Indian and Pakistani Punjab. The traditional hookah is nothing like the hookah trend in bars..the traditional tobacco in Hookah is pretty addictive, even to non-smokers like me. I wished someone comes with a perfume that has hookah’s tobacco note and finally this may be the one to try…there is only one kind of tobacco that i used to smell in all hookahs..

  • I’m with Devon – sounds great except for the caramel notes, but definitely sounds worth a try.

  • whoa…
24 hrs is amazing, but only amazingly good if the scent is amazingly good–which is how it sounds!

  • I am sampling this right now and this is more about the smoke/apple then caramel. It is NOT overly sweet, perfectly balanced and def. unique!
