Raise a glass—this time, not just to the finest champagne but to a fragrance that captures its soul. The latest collaboration between Xerjoff and Champagne De Venoge has given rise to one of the most exquisite releases of last year. A proud addition to the Xerjoff Blends Collection, Louis XV 1722 is a tribute to heritage, craftsmanship, and the intoxicating intersection of taste and aroma.

The Blends Collection has long been the bridge between fragrance and other artistic disciplines, from music and architecture to gastronomy and now fine wine. This latest venture brings together the worlds of haute parfumerie and viticulture in a perfect fusion, where centuries of tradition meet contemporary artistry. Inspired by the regal elegance of Cuvée Louis XV, Champagne De Venoge and Sergio Momo set out to distill the essence of their most prestigious vintage into a scent that mirrors its refinement.

Xerjoff Louis XV 1722 captures the effervescence of champagne at its most exhilarating—a luminous burst of aldehydes and crisp white florals evoke the first sip, where golden bubbles dance on the tongue, releasing their airy, slightly metallic sparkle. There’s a touch of citrus zest, reminiscent of the way an aged Blanc de Blancs unfurls, revealing a sharp yet refined brightness that lifts the spirits.

As the fragrance unfolds in the heart, it mirrors the evolution of a great vintage in the glass. The opening fizz gives way to a textured heart—cool iris and powdery orris butter lend a velvety softness, much like the way a Blanc de Noirs rounds out on the palate, developing into something richer, weightier, and more seductive with time. A whisper of aged oak barrels lingers, like the toasted brioche and hazelnut undertones found in a well-matured cuvée. This depth is further enhanced by a delicate interplay of roasted coffee, reminiscent of the nutty complexities found in champagne aged on lees, where the autolytic process imparts warm, buttery richness to the liquid gold resting in cellars.

The dry down is where history comes alive—warm, resinous woods and a gentle wisp of incense conjure the grand halls of Versailles, where candlelit revelry once filled the air with the scent of aged leather, polished oak, and the lingering trace of spirits poured in royal toasts. There’s a distinct dryness to the composition, mirroring the way a prestige champagne finishes—clean, sophisticated, and resolutely unsweetened, leaving only the memory of its brilliance behind.

Much like the legacy of Louis XV himself, this fragrance is opulent yet refined, indulgent yet precise. The Xerjoff x De Venoge collaboration embodies the art of celebration, the fleeting moment when bubbles burst on the lips, when the weight of history and modern luxury converge in a single sip—or in this case, a single spritz.

To complete the experience, three co-branded Xerjoff Blends champagnes were crafted exclusively for this launch: Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, and Rosé, each personally selected by Sergio Momo alongside the De Venoge Master Blender. These rare blends, served at the launch event in Cannes, reflect the very spirit of Xerjoff Louis XV 1722—a meeting of two worlds, where fragrance and champagne intertwine. For those who understand that luxury is about what you experience, Louis XV 1722 is a toast to artistry, history, and the pursuit of pleasure.

  • This one sounds so lovely! Often fragrances inspired by champagne are very citrusy and fizzy but I love the idea of combining that with more nutty warm notes. I love the sound of lavender and cocoa as well as incense. I will sample this one for sure!
