”I remember basil, thyme and oregano and these are memories that I try to capture in some of my scents. Especially those of the Casamorati collection as they truly capture my memories and the timeless history of Italian culture.”– Sergio Momo of Xerjoff from my interview.

Sergio Momo of Xerjoff

Editor Sebastian Jara and Sergio Momo at Pitti 2019

,Sergio Momo, the Creative Director and founder of XERJOFF has built a luxury collection and I chose the above excerpt to open for Sebastian’s video fragrance review of the aromatic Xerjoff  Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo, composed in 2018, evokes memories of vintage barbershops and Italian classic style. The herbal elements from Sergio Momo’s childhood come into play, but it is the finest lavender and citrus that truly highlight the quality of Xerjoff  Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo.  – Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

  • Hello. I have loved this Xerjoff fragrance from a sample I had that I used up. This fragrance could be my signature scent. I would love to be lucky enough to win. Thanks!

  • Another amazing detailed review Sebastian. I love that it is a crowd pleaser and the dry down is amber/musk. Lavender, grapefruit and kinda aromatic/herbal scent smells unique. I have never tried any Xerjoff Fragrance. Would love to win! Thank you for this opportunity.

  • I love fougere barbershops. citrus, amber and musk…let’s do this! Gorgeous bottle. Great review Sebastian

  • Lyndon Lewis says:

I’m a big xerjoff fan ,Kobe , uden favorite .would love to own another amazing fragrances.

  • I love Sebastian review of this amazing masterpiece. The thing I lovednthe most of this Mefisto is how beautiful is the bottle and the florals that Sebastián describes. I do not own any xerjoff but I would love to own this mostly because of the musky herbal vibe that it has. Thank you, fan of Sebastian reviews from NY city NY

  • Sebastian’s video is clear and to the point. I love the Xerjoff brand and own Naxos, but have not sampled the Casamorati collection. I have heard of Mefisto, but Mefisto Gentiluomo is a new one for me. So I really enjoyed Sebastian’s note breakdown and introduction to CMG. Would love to win this and try it this season. TX, USA

  • Like the presentation and a big fun of citrus based perfumes and niche fragrances.. Hope I win….

  • I don’t own Xerjoff perfumes yet, and Sebastian’s review on describing the scent profile sounds interesting and just the kind of perfumes I like and enjoy wearing.

  • I like how Sebastian emphasizes the citrus in the top, signifying it may be a fresher, summer style fougere and that intrigues me. Cheers from Indiana.

  • It definitely is a crowd pleaser. This would be great in the spring and summer. Great review, Sebastian. His description is spot on.

  • Catch_My_Whiff says:

His in depth description of the fragrance is my favorite part of the review, especially around the lavender note.

  • Fabian Medina says:

Great review again Sebastian. Would love to win a bottle of this. I have a small sample and been trying to make it last.

  • Cody mayberry says:

I liked how much information Sebastian’s video contained. I have used up a sample of this perfume when it was released and agreed with everything he mentioned. It is a crowd pleasing beautiful scent I’d love the opportunity to own.

  • Great review by sebatian. I love that it’s a versatile and easy to wear fragrance. I recently purchased my first xerjoff which is naxos and I can’t wait to wear it this week. Haven’t tried any others from the house. Hope I win this!

    Thanks

  • I love the soft creamy shaving cream scentsation and the woody cedar base notes. Love Naxos, but have not had the pleasure of sampling anything else from Xerjoff. USA

  • Sebastian has created yet another lemming. The citrus top, light floral heart and the sandalwood, musk and amber drydown soothed like a perfect everyday masculine. I live in the USA.

  • 1725 by Histoires de Parfums got me into aromatic lavender fragrances years ago and have enjoyed this style ever since. By the sound of Sebastian’s review, this sounds like one I would like. Cheers. USA

  • Slaydabomzi35 says:

I really enjoyed the succinct way in which Sebastian conveyed the aromatic facets of the fragrance.
He seems to always be able to describe the small details perfectly.

  • Great review as always! He’s descriptions are always very helpful! Haven’t tried anything from xerjoff yet! But hope to soon! Thanks

  • Well, ultimately Sebastian always bring his own unique style to fragrance reviews. But, what I enjoyed most about Sebastian’s YouTube review of Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo is, I can actually smell the fragrance based on his description of the fragrance. I have sampled Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo many many times. I even have a 10 ml sample that I use on special occasions. He’s always spot on with his reviews. That’s why I watch.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. From this review in particular, I enjoyed his thorough breakdown of this fragrance and explanation of the wearing experience. I dont own any Xerjoff fragrances and haven’t really been able to try any as of yet either, but would love to own this one. From the Casamorati line I really want to try this and Lira so it would be great to win. Of course there’s a number of other Xerjoffs I’d love to try as well. In CT USA. Thank you so much to Xerjoff, Europerfumes, and Cafleurebon for your generosity in doing this draw.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review on Gentiluomo. The way he described the top notes of citrus and fresh cut lavender makes me want to sample it. I used to own Mefisto but it was a bit too green for me.

  • I love how much he loves fougeres and aromatics and citrus…well, and vanilla….and patchouli…and…like the rest of us!!!! 🙂

  • Michael Bullock says:

Sebastian knows how to review fragrances and he is one of best fragrance reviewers united states

  • Loved Sebastian’s description of the creamy buttery-ness of the fragrance, sounds very interesting! Had come across Mefisto a while back and liked it, so interested to try this one.

  • Have samples of both Mefistos. Sabastian’s review described Gentiluomo nicely. Would love a bottle of it. Alexandria III though is hypnotizing.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always so descriptive, I appreciate how he elaborates in all the notes, bergamot, grapefruit, lavender, violet, oris.
It sounds like an amazing scent that I would love to win and gift to my husband! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
    Sacto, Ca.

  • I enjoyed how concise and descriptive Sebastian was in his YouTube review. This fragrance sounds wonderful. Cheers from Oregon, USA

  • Francisco Diaz says:

I very much like vintage barbershop fragrances, my problem is finding one that last. Songs that this EDP scent will last longer then others. Also, I love lavender.
    Thank you!

  • I was so happy to see Sebastian review this magical elixir. To me this is one of the best fragrances I’ve ever tried. If it weren’t for the price I would currently own it! So gentlemanly and suave and I’m absolutely in love with the notes. This would easily become my signature fragrance. I enjoyed Sebastian’s emphasis on this fragrance being “soft”. It’s definitely smooth and soft and rounded and very inoffensive while still projecting quite well.

  • Sebastiaan always videos products that others do not. I enjoy that he really tries to give a good descrition of the scent, which is not an easy thing to do. Somehow he connects with me and i get what he says.

  • I loved the fact that you had a review for this fragrance because there isn’t many, and the detail was amazing. Really wanna try this now. So I can only hope I win this bottle would be an amazing Christmas gift. Thanks for the chance

  • First off I absolutely love a great barbershop scent.. classic and clean. What intrigues me the most is how Sebastian described the lavender not just being the flower but the leaves and stems mixed together to produce a green scent. I would love to try this fragrance !!

  • Andrei artimon says:

I really love xerjoff fragrances , class and luxury all the way , yoi can see sebastien is in love with the house also , new york , usa .

  • Ali Aldujaili says:

As it is my favorite house, I own nine of Xerjoff the Mefisto is one of them and I enjoyed it as Citrus long-lasting fragrance and I was very curious about the Gentiluomo and curious whether there is a resemblance with the Mefisto or has more depth note; this review gave me a clear answer that they ending in two different destinations as their path splits away

  • Informative review as always Sebastian! Lavender, grapefruit with an amber/musk dry down sounds like a fresh fougere. I’ve never tried any Xerjoff before. I’m in the US

  • I had sampled this delicious, classic/modern aromatic, Men scent and it’s yet another Xerjoff masterpiece. Sebastian nailed it with describing the experience and notes. Chicago USA

  • Hello! Oh man I really hope to get my nose on this one. Yes I love those classic barber shop scents and my favorite part of the review is how Sebastian used the shave cream as an example because before he got to that point i had imagined a old can of foam style cream next to the old safety razor also next to an old green bottle of aftershave splash! Brought me back to my childhood aswell, thank you!

  • LightningRain says:

Truly appreciate Sebastian’s take on this beautiful aromatic fougere. Would love to have a chance of owning this beautiful bottle.
    From Texas USA

  • I enjoy how he provides excellent details on the different herbs in this fragrance. I’m in California, USA.

  • As usual, Sebastians review was excellent. I really liked the way he talked about the lavender in this one and described it as green, herbacious lavender – foliage and all.

I haven’t had a chance to sniff a Xerjoff fragrance and I would love to get my nose on this one.

    Love from Madison, WI, USA!

  • This sounds like a very nice fragrance. The note breakdown looks good, with that lavender, grapefruit, amber, musk. Waldorf, MD, USA

  • I’ve been on the hunt for a good fougere that I could really enjoy, this might be the one! Sebastian’s description makes it sound fantastic

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

Sounds very exciting, to say the least, I love Sebastian review and I trust him, gentil hombre, could be the next patou or really the best there is, just plain Italian culture.
    Thanks

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always incredibly informative. I really enjoyed hearing about this barbershop type fragrance and would love to experience it.
    California, USA.

  • Love Sebastian and Xerjof. I’m always in for a wonderful Aromatic Fougrie. He always make these frags feel so real from a distance. IL USA.

  • Sebastian says Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo is safe wear with notes like lavendar, amber, musk, grapefruit etc. It has aromatic qualities. I am in US

  • I enjoyed Sebastian passion for reviewing, he know how to break the scent piece by piece. And in doing so he gives the viewer an accurate picture of the scent.

  • Juan Castillo says:

I love Xeroff would love to smell more from the house. Sebastian does a great job explaining the scent’s with great quality.

  • Robert Lovely says:

Enjoy learning about houses I don’t now a lot about. will be looking for samples of xerjoff fragrances.

  • Sebastian has such an elegant way of explaining perfumery. His passion for perfumery coupled with his detailed descriptions make for a great viewing experience. Love his videos and the perfumes he reviews. I have purchased many of his recommendations and have not been disappointed. Mefisto Gentiluomo sounds like my perfect fragrance.

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

Xerjoff is an interesting house and I loved Sebastian’s video with Sergio Momo.

I love Sebastian review of this amazing masterpiece. The thing I loved the most of this Mefisto is how beautiful is the bottle and the florals that Sebastián describes.

  • buttery, creamy, soft, gentle orris as the heart sounds so nice, especially after a particularly herbal lavender. I am in KS US

  • I follow several fragrance channels on YouTube but Sebastian is the only reviewer I listen to when it comes to making purchase decisions. Never tried any Xerjoff fragrances but am enthused by its aspiration to capture the timeless history of Italian culture with this Casamorati collection. I loved how passionate Sebastian was in the video about the lavender and orris notes here. Boston USA.

  • I really liked how he described the use of orris in this aromatic composition. I’d like to try more from the Casamorati line from Xerjoff.

  • Michael Werno says:

I like the way Sebastian described the lavender accord. Makes me want to get a bottle. Seems like another winner from Xerjoff.

  • Would love to own this. Haven’t seen much about it. I like barbershop style frags. Xerjoff is a great company with really nice range.

  • I like SMW and have always wanted to try the OG Mefisto. From what I’ve heard this is a more gentlemanly take which is right up my alley

  • I too enjoy wearing high quality fougere/barbershop fragrances. I don’t believe I have smelled anything from this line. US

  • Martin. langan says:

Once again just an amazing and full In depth review of a power house niche fragrance thank you sir

  • I find Xerjoff to be one the top 5 brands of high end perfumery. One of my the first niche purchases was Lira early 2012… early March I think.
Doesn’t matter is you like safe , daring or sweet, Xerjoff portfolio is big , and you’re covered .
Xerjoff Universe was really good idea. Most do remember distribution in US was not very good, and most boutiques were carrying 10 if not less of the most popular ones. It’s much better now.
Mefisto Gentiluomo attracts me with it’s combination of citruses , lavender , and the natural smelling scent it has .
As I said Lira was my first Xerjoff purchase, and I still love it, but it’s not my favorite one, not anymore, Cruz del Sur II is , followed by Golden Dallah and then comes Lira.
    Wonderful giveaway. USA

Scent profile expertly framed by Sebastian in his video. Would def like to try this fragrance. Intrigued by the barbershop fragrance style. Thank you!

  • Sebastian gives a great breakdown of the notes, and the style of Mefisto Gentiluomo. The bowtie presentation is quite classy. Thank you for this opportunity. New York, USA.

  • I got the pleasure of sampling this frag and I must say I think this will be my top 10 frag of all time. I would defiently would love to win the jewel.

  • I loved the comparison to shaving crème out of the cannister. And the fragrance goes through so many distinctive facets. Barbershops are one of my favorite fragrance genres, and I’d love to smell Xeroff’s take on this style of perfumery. (USA)

  • I always like Sebastian’s reviews!!!
I like citrusy, especially grapefruit notes and with lavender it will sound very elegant and masculine.
    US

  • I have found that Sebastian’s descriptions are great, i share the same taste for the most part. I really like fougère fragrances so this will be interesting to try, like Sebastian said it hints at a fougère with a citrus and green back bone.

  • To me Mefisto Gentiluomo is formal occasions fragrance, weddings business meetings and so on. I wear suits ~ twice per month, and Gentiluomo could be my formal fragrance.
The best Xerjoff is Italica. and it’s exclusive to Harvey Nichols , and they do not want to ship it to US . On top of all it’s not even available at Xerjoff own site ???
Smells very, and I mean very similar to a traditional Toffee Almond Cake with spelt flour, unsweetened cocoa powder , almonds , buttermilk , strong brewed coffee, dark rum , bittersweet chocolate , salt. It’s a traditional Italian cake. I’m pretty sure the cake was the inspiration behind Italica. One of the best realistically smelling gourmands , and as a Pastry Chef I can tell.
I had to ask a friend going to UK, to go to Harvey Nichols , buy it , and bring it to US.
If by any chance Europerfumes can bring Italica in US, it could become easily the best selling Xerjoff here.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign.

  • Great review
I think I will give it a try, because I enjoy the mefisto and for me it is my best fragrance ever.
    Thanks

  • Honestly some lavender fragrances are scary, and it’s reassuring to me the smell is not dated, but it’s the other way around. Classy, fresh , and herbal scent is what I imagine. Proud of owning Naxos 1861. Generous giveaway, thank you. USA

  • Jordan Basham says:

The lavender note that Sebastian talks about was the basis behind the home brewing of a grisette that I did with a friend. In my mind this makes perfect sense, and I want to smell it. From top to base it sounds appealing.

  • I’ve never wanted to win something so badly in my life!! My favorite part of the review is how Sabastian wasn’t drawn to the original Mefisto but really like this version!

  • Michael Gasaway says:

I love how thoroughly Sebastian describes the fragrances! And that he brought this lesser known (at least around me) fragrance to light. It sounds stunning!

  • I’ve never wanted to win something so badly in my life!! My favorite part of the review is how Sabastian wasn’t drawn to the original Mefisto but really like this version! Plus that stunning color of that bottle. Amazing presentation! Thank you so much to Cafleurbon and Europerfumes for the opportunity!!

  • Another solid review by one of the most professional and well-spoken fragrance reviewers in the business. I especially enjoyed Sebastian’s explanation of the opening and his description of the earthy lavender notes. Cheers!

  • I liked Sebastian’s detailed description of the notes in this fragrance. Lavender and citrus? I would love it!

  • Sebastian never disappoints. I love his detailed reviews. This fragrance sounds wonderful and would be perfect, I think, on a woman as well as a man. Thanks for the great review and the generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • Sebastian never fails with his reviews. His description of this fragrance has me interested. I haven’t tried this house yet but definitely want to now.

  • Love citruses and lavender, sounds like an easy one to wear. Actually haven’t tried anything from Xerjoff despite their popularity. Looking forward to trying some.

  • Sebastian is a good connoisseur of perfumes, I like his presentations because he does it phlegmically and with style. I don’t know if he has launched his fragrance, he should. The artist seeks beauty and this is reflected in both the presentation and the content. We are in search of that perfume that makes your heart rejoice. Mefisto, nice name

  • This sounds nice and seems like most will like it. Haven’t tried many Xerjoff fragrances. Nice lookin bottle. Reminds me of being in the Mediterranean. Enjoyed the review, thanks Ca

  • i adore lavender but this one i know my husband would love. xerjoff is straight luxury. sebastian is always so pleasant and someone i’d like to go to brunch with. usa

  • I love Sebastian’s style of description.
Thank you for ths review and draw.
I have Mefisto and like it, and tried Mefisto Gentiluomo only once and find it refined version. By the way- Mefisti is very complimentary perfume.

  • Enjoyable video as usual. I just love Sebastian passion for high quality fragrances . Time sure flies, I follow him for a long time.
Xerjoff i find to be one of the best niche brands ever created. Of course I can’t say i love all they got , but undoubtedly blended well colognes, variety is pretty big, so every fragrance lover should be able to find pleasing to his taste.
Aromatic, fresh and spicy, citrusy with top quality natural lavender. All boxes are checked.
At this moment I own bottles of Lira , Mamluk , Cruz del Sur II , Naxos , Opera and Wardasina .
Nio and Kobe I had in the past . My favorite Xerjoff is Mamluk .

  • I’m only now just getting introduced to the Xerjoff house. I own one fragrance (Golden Dallah) but I’m eager to add more to my collection.
I really enjoyed Sebastian’s review. I’d love to try this one since it’s a fresh, citrus fragrance and a complete opposite of what Golden Dallah is.
I live in the USA (PA)

  • I’m excited about this one because Sebastian is excited about it. It’s soft and aromatic and he’s description of barber shop shaving cream as compared to the fragrance makes it interesting. The blue bottle and bow tie is gorgeous

  • This sounds like something that would make me fall in love with my husband all over again! Love Sebastian’s reviews! Thanks for the opportunity!

I enjoyed sebastian’s descriptions of the notes and how it makes him feel. I love that he has been honest about aquatics. I loved that the quality of the lavender is really noticable. I have a hard time finding one and I love. I gave sampled this one and would love to own. USA ms

  • Thanks Sebastian for the detailed review of this gem and Europerfumes for the kind giveaway. I love how Sebastian describes the notes since to my nose, I could only pick out some citrus and a very fine rose. I’d love to own a full bottle since I’ve found all the Xerjoffs I’ve tried (Naxos, More than Words, Uden, Golden Mocha) to be lovely fragrances . I’m subscribed to Sebastian’s Youtube channel and I’m in USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo. It hints at a classic fougere/barbershop style fragrance with the lavender, but has its own unique twist. It sounds like a high quality herbal, citrus, spicy, aromatic fragrance that I would love to try. I am from the USA.

  • im Excited that it’s a sweeter take on the original and from what Sebastian said it could be a great fougere for year round where I’m from! Thanks for the review

  • When I think about Xerjoff pictures of my Mefisto always comes to mind. Being a barber my love for aromatic and citrusy fragrances comes naturally. Lavender is prominent, but don’t push it into mature territory. Super classy, yet not overly aggressive fragrance, exactly what I expect from Mefisto Gentiluomo.
Good to know Gentiluomo is not really a different fragrance, but more of a upgraded one with more citruses.
I so want to try Gentiluomo, and also the two coffee ones.
Such a nice draw, I’m excited. Thank you.

  • Xerjoff sure are both high end, and at the same time up to date brand. I find it important to be well in touch with the modern day era , virtual reality presentations is not something you can see every day. There is time and place for different fragrances, and sometimes simple is better than complex. You don’t need super potent fragrance all the time.
For close encounters, or a walk in the park with my 4yo niece , or at work with customers Mefisto Gentiluomo would work on al all occasions. Multifaceted fragrance I’d love to win.
For clubbing I have Lira .
    Fantastic draw. In USA

  • I liked Sebastian’s description of the fragrance, especially his indication of how including not just the lavendar flowers but the leaves and stems makes the fragrance more herbal. USA, NC.
