Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance Review + Late Summer Citrus Draw

Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance Review

Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance by Sebastian

Soon it will be Autumn, but summer in many parts of the Western Hemisphere still lingers on… Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance is a fresh, citrus aromatic fragrance that wears very soft, smooth, and rounded. Xerjoff is known for wonderful citrus fragrances (like Xerjoff KOBE,) but 1861 Renaissance is very different and is in a class of its own. There is a green quality at the top with slightly bitter petitgrain and bright bergamot. Aromatic mint is at the heart and is the star ingredient, before settling into a cedar and amber drydown. 1861 Renaissance is a perfect citrus fragrance that transitions from summer into fall.

Editor’s Note: When released in 2011, it was known as 1861, as it celebrated the 150-year anniversary of Italy’s unification. Creative director Sergio Momo hints at it in my 2011 interview here.  Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance is part of the 1861 collection-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

  • Sebastian says this is a green citrusy fragrance with aromatic vibes. He says 1861 Renaissance is different from his other fresh and aromatic citrus fragrances and has soft buttery fresh vibe. It is a soft citrus and makes for a cozy wear. USA

  • I like that it is a refreshing fragrance and that the mint which is the star note is soft and smooth. Gives him the cozy and comforting experience. Another one on my wishlist. Never tried anything from this great house yet. IL, USA

  • I like that it is a minty fresh fragrance. That is very refreshing and invigorating with all the citrus. I think 1861 Renaissance is the kind of fragrance that just makes me feel happy when I them.

  • Renaissance is such a wonderful citrus scent that actually lasts, and I think Sebastian represented that very well in his review. Such a classy fragrance!

  • Renaissance is such a wonderful citrus scent that actually lasts, and I think Sebastian represented that very well in his review. Such a classy fragrance! SC, USA

  • Russell Richard Johnson III says:

I love me a good mint, especially now knowing due to Sebastian review that it’s not just an opening scent but really the star of the show. Sounds like a great work scent that wouldn’t offend anyone. Here in Ohio it’s still very warm so it sounds like a perfect end of summer scent.

  • I love how Brother Sebastian focused on the smoothness of the fragrance. I had a 1ml sample and it lasted almost 12 hrs on my wrist. Until I try others Renaissance is my fav Xerjoff (and most likely after I try the others too) I live in Florida, USA so I can wear almost year round.

  • Love this frag and Sebastian did it justice with his review. I always enjoy watching him.
1861 Renaissance is very wearable on warm Fall days. It really shines for me during the Spring and Summer.
    Pennsylvania USA

  • Sebastian is phenomenal reviewer always very knowledgeable and his reviews are always very informative, i personally love the xerjoff house and my fav so far is xerjoff italica and i would definitely like to get my hands on this bottle of xerjoff 1861,thx for the giveaway

  • Firstly, I would like to say that I love Kobe by Xerjoff, although I only had the chance to try a decant, given the current circumstances (economic circumstances mostly). I love citric fragrances! What can I say about Sebastian, all of his reviews are excellent! Including this one, because it made me really eager to try the 1861 renaissance. Miami, USA.

  • Unfortunately I don’t have a favorite Xerjoff fragrances. They are a bit too pricy for me. Sebastian’s review sounds very interesting. I started liking citrusy fragrances only recently. They were always too sharp for me. Somehow they were never my choice for summer. But this summer I started appreciating them more. Although I still don’t like when they are very sharp. Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance sound like something I might enjoy a lot since it is a much smoother blend. I also like mint in fragrances, but only if it is not attacking me a making me feel like I’m smelling tooth paste. So one more win for this fragrance. As always great review by Sebastian. I’m from Illinois. US.

  • Fresh fragrances are actually my go to pick for hot and humid days.
What Sebastian said that caught my attention was the overall experience with the wearing of this beauty.
The best part was definitely the smoothness of it. I find very appealing and delicious when a fragrance keeps it bright and soft, without losing the freshness and the juicy from the citrus fruits. Xerjoff seems to keep things cosy and fresh all the way to the end, and I agree with Sebastian that the Amber must play a big part of this nuance.

My favorite Xerjoff fragrance is actually quite sweet, but still soft: Dama Bianca. A beautiful cosy, soft and delicious Vanilla.

Thank you for the opportunity to win this piece of art.

  • Sebastian has a wealth of knowledge regarding fragance. His taste matches similarly to mine, I have not have any xerjoff perfume yet.

  • Liked the clear description of Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance by Sebastian. No experience with Xerjoff perfumes, yet. 1861 Renaissance seems to be a very high quality, well-balanced perfume that I would love to try. Thanks for the generous draw and review. Writing from the USA.

  • I liked the detail put into describing the notes of the fragrance and how it wears on the skin since I like ambery fragrances and don’t always like when mint is too sharp. I have not tried anything from Xerjoff yet

  • Very interesting fragrance from great house like Xerjoff. I have not smelled this one. Looking forward to win a bottle.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • I’m intrigued by the way Sebastian describes 1861 Renaissance, as a minty citrus. I smelled the fragrance some time ago, early into my fragrance journey, and I remember it smelling more like a classic fougere. I’d love to rediscover this fragrance and experience it as Sebastian describes. It sounds wonderful. My fingers are crossed.

  • I like the sound of a smoother less harsh summer fragrance as well as a mint focused fragrance, a note I personally love.
I haven’t had the opportunity to try a xerjoff fragrance so I do not have a favorite.

  • Michael Werno says:

I like the way Sebastian describes the mint and citrus combination perfectly. My favorite Xerjoffs fragrances are Uden Overdose and Naxos

  • I appreciate the way he described the texture of the fragrance. Fragrance goes beyond the olfactory senses for me.

  • Andrewnguyen031191 says:

I love xejoff – nio, and 1861 renaissance, citrus, aromatic, two of them are my favorite all summer time

  • I’m missing quality citrus aromatic frag in my collection. Xerjoff is for sure one of the best frag house I need this one for next spring, summer!
Very detailed review with all necessary information,
Thank you for the review Sebastian !

  • I just love Sebastians brilliant knowledge of fragrances and his explanation of notes. I could listen to him talk fragrances for days. I love mint in fragrances so I’m sure id love this. My favorite Xerjoff would be Naxos or Kobe. USA

  • Ramon Santiago says:

I really like how Sebastian broke down how the notes really complement each other and when each note tends to hit after the other.

  • Probably my 3rd favourite from Xerjoff behind Ivory Route and Lira, I completely agree with Seb about the smoothness, especially with the added mint. The petitgrain is what did it for me though. Can’t spell refreshing without green and bitter. lol I think. Definitely a quality freshie that I prefer to spray onto clothing, but I can’t say that it wears all that quiet on me. I suppose some would call me an oversprayer though. A nice, quick review! MI, USA

  • I enjoyed sebastian describing this as a cozy summer fragrance. I, too, mint when it is in the background rather than shouting up front. My favorite Xerjoff would have to be mamluk. That honey and jasmine gets me every time when it’s cooler outside. North Dakota, USA

  • I really enjoy Sebastian’s description of the feeling of the fragrance, and not just the smell. Renaissance is actually the only Xerjoff I’ve sampled, and it was fantastic.

  • My current favorite Xerjoff is Naxos, but I’m dying to try Renaissance. I love that Sebastian is honest and gives fragrances a good wearing before reviewing. He sold me on Renaissance.

  • Another great review by Sebastian! So informative so amazing. Bergamot as top notes with mint at the heart settling into a cedar and amber drydown? Wow it sounds so intriguing. I definitely wanna try it out. I don’t have a favourite Xerjoff perfume yet hope it will be the one.
    Florida, USA

  • Sebastian was very thorough going through each notes about this fragrance, however, wish he would includes the longevity and sillage of the fragrance as I came across many great ones with terrible longevity/sillage. I recently bought Mugler Kryptonite and was amazed with the minty note so I’m excited to try this out. Also just bought Cruz de Sur II and was in loved.

  • I really enjoyed Sebastian’s mentioning of this fragrance being a soft wearing experience. It most certainly is. I really enjoy this fragrance a lot- it’s very cooling. Unfortunately I was only able to sample it so far but would absolutely love a bottle. My favorite xerjoff fragrance would probably have to be one from the Casamorati line; Mefisto Gentiluomo.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

  • Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance citrusy aromatic, buttery smooth, minty fresh, cosy soft, happy, comforting, in the end ambery, that how nicely Sebastian described this Scent- Perfectly fine for end of Summer beginning of Fall. I don’t need to say how beautiful Bottle is, Xerjoff presentation always amazingly beautiful. Love this Italian house and creation to celebrated the 150-year anniversary of Italy’s unification. Creative director Sergio Momo did very nice performing Fragragrance. Thank you Cafleurebon, Europerfumes the US distributor of Xerjoff and Sebastian
    Florida

  • Besides his usual enthusiasm, I liked the way Sebastian made the fragrance sound like something that just had to be sniffed, focusing on its main notes, and what type of smell we would be receiving.

From the ones I’ve tried, I can’t decide between 40 Knots and More than Words. Do I REALLY have to choose?!

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • I liked how many times Sebastian used the word “fresh” to describe the fragrance.. it sounds like the ultimate refresher. I’ve already been wanting to try this one for a while after hearing other people describe it as “mint lemonade,” but I’ve not heard the creamy/smooth part described the way Sebastian did. My favorite Xerjoff is definitely Lira although I also own Gran Ballo. Cruz Del Sur II is nice and I savor my small decant for when I’m in the mood. Erba Pura I did not love. The next two I plan to try are Allende and Pikovaya Dama… 😛

  • Mint and citruses – sounds refreshing. I like that Sebastian described this as soft and juicy. Thanks for another great review. Mich USA

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian explained the wearing experience of 1861 Renaissance. He mentioned it being soft almost buttery and smooth and that he thought perhaps the amber was helping to round off the other notes that in other fragrances tend to be more sharp, like the citruses and mint. I really want to try this fragrance and Uden r the 2 Xerjoff citruses I havent tried yet but want to the most funnily enough. As of now my favorite Xerjoff is probably Uden Overdose though ive enjoyed a bunch of them. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • judesis ilangilang says:

I am in love with Xerjoff fragrances. Love that minty fresh scent. Sebastian always delivers every time he review a fragrance. This would be an amazing acquisition ever.

  • I enjoy the fresh Nio and Uden already so I’m eager to try this after Sebastian’s review. Naxos is a favorite as well.

  • I’m always on the lookout for fragrances with mint note, as I love mint and for whatever reason it is not as commonly used as other notes. Sebastian piqued my curiosity with his description of this being a sparkling bright citrusy fragragrance yet giving off a beautiful soft, comforting vibe. Really wonder how mint plays out in this one!

  • I want this perfume so bad, the notes and Sebastian review made me think that this perfume is made for me.
Sebastian’s always make me fall in love with new perfumes.
    NJ, USA

  • Sebastian reviews are always right on. Love all the information provided and off course the mint accord detail is the one thing about this perfume more intriguing to me. From the Xerjoff house of perfumery I love Kobe. Commenting from Orlando, Fl. Thank you for another great review.

  • I mostly enjoyed that it fresh frag that mix citrus with mandarin that summer remind off. I thing Renaissance is my favorite because its fresh frag. I live CA USA.

  • Sebastian’s review (like his other reviews) makes me want to purchase a bottle of 1861, though I have not smelled it. Watching from Pennsylvania, USA.

  • Sebastian review was captivating as usual.
Xerjoff sure is both high end, and at the same time up to date brand. I find it important to be well in touch with the modern day era , virtual reality presentations is not something you can see every day. I do remember Sebastian said it in one of his videos on YouTube.
I actually like wearing citrus aromatic fragrances all yearround. To me there’s no such thing as “Too fresh for the winter ” . For close encounters, walk in the park , or at work with customers , 1861 Renaissance would work on all occasions. Multifaceted fragrance I’d love to win.
For clubbing I have Lira , my favorite Xerjoff .
    Fantastic draw. In USA

  • Armando Esparza Jr says:

I love how it was mentioned it’s softness. Renaissance 1861 by Xerjoff, even though it’s an aromatic citrus, it’s different in that it goes smooth and buttery when typical aromatic and citrus fragrances have a tendency to go sharp and more striking. At the moment, my favorite Xerjoff would be Blue Hope. LA, Ca.

  • I liked that Sebastian had a fond memory of shopping with family members before the pandemic. I find that fragrances are great at reminding us of events in our lives, especially happy ones. I’m interested in this after Sebastian described it as soft and minty. I would love to try it. Thanks for entering me in the giveaway. I’m in IL, USA.

  • As someone newer to critically assessing fragrances and exploring niche houses, I have sampled only one Xerjoff perfume (though I have many on my “need samples” list.) My current sample is Oud Stars FARS, and I find it quite exotic and compelling though I have not yet determined if it will be on my “full bottle wish list.” I already know that something from Xerjoff will be on that list. The quality of Oud Stars FARS, as well as the Xerjoff reputation, beautiful presentation, and that they have a wide variety of fragrances available leads me to believe that somewhere in their collections there is (at least) one for me.
I enjoyed Sebastian’s review particularly because I am a lover of Green Aromatic fragrances and he highlights why Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance is different. There are dozens of beautiful Green Aromatics to choose from, and while there are differences in many Green Aromatics from niche houses, it seems that it is rare to find “soft” greens as Sebastian describes. I have discovered only one Green Aromatic that I would describe as “soft,” but unfortunately it dries to “wet dog” for me. Very sad and disappointing as otherwise it was an absolutely STUNNING fragrance.

  • Forgot to mention in my comment: I’m in United States, Maine.
(Anybody know any fragrance lovers up here? I have not found a fragrance tribe up here yet!)

  • Ooh – I have loads of samples and the like, but I don’t have anything minty. I’m also interested in the smoothness of the perfume as Sebatian noted. I’ve found that I like perfumes that smell refreshing, so this is definitely going on my List Of Things to Try.

  • I found it interesting to hear this Xerjoff wears soft but love how smooth it sounds. My favorite Xerjoff would be Lira. I live in the USA.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I love mint in the summer and petitgrain in the fall so this sounds like a perfect transitioning fragrance. And I love his description of the buttery vibe. I don’t necessarily have a favorite Xerjoff (too hard to choose one) but today I’m wearing Dama Bianca. I’ve never had the chance to sample Renaissance. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • Antonio Otero says:

I loved Sebastian’s take on Xerjoff’s 1861. I have tried this as a sample and he is right on the money. The ingredients used are top quality. The smoothness is impeccable. And for a citrus fragrance its longevity is great. It’s a very soft and smooth fragrance but still very much capable for as a unisex fragrance.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review talking about Xerjoff 1861as a green and minty fragrance. It sounds lovely and the 150 anniversary of Italy’s unification is a great reason for a fragrance. Thank you for the generous draw. I love Lira. California

  • I like that Sebastian points out it’s not a sharp citrus aromatic, but a smooth one. I’m picturing something maybe like Dior Homme Sport with added mint. And we know from previous videos that Sebastian loves his mint so if he likes this one, it must be good. My favorite Xerjoff is Naxos. Cheers from USA.

  • I usually don’t like citrus dominant fragrances since strong citrus would hurt my nose but Sebastian described it’s much softer than most citrus scents out there and the mint note is pretty dominant and smooth things out in this one so I thought I should give it a try because I do need some fresh fragrances for the warm climate I am in (Los Angeles). I know Xerjoff is a quality house but their citrus are usually very strong. I hope this one would work for me.

  • Fantastic ingredients and a great quality. Love citrusy fragrances and Sebastian always delivers insightful reviews.

  • This perfume sounds divine! I have heard so much about this house, but have not had the pleasure to experience it. Sebastian’s reviews are always so descriptive. I like how he described the wearing experience is different than other citrus/fresh fragrances – he mentions noting is harsh, not sharp or metallic, and is very smooth. I love how he describes it as a smooth, buttery fragrance.

    California, USA

  • Have always loved the flavor of mint and citrus, so very intrigued that this combination exists in a fragrance. Sebastian’s nose has never steered me wrong, so this sounds like a winner in my book!

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Great content from Sebastian! I was interested as soon as he said mint + citruses. Given the Pandemic and my telework situation, doesn’t really matter this is a summer/spring freshie since I’m in controlled climate anyway. Interested in the buttery smooth nature of the fragrance he highlighted. Appreciate the opportunity for the giveaway! Best from Virginia, USA!

  • “Smooth and soft,” “juicy citruses” and “cosy and comforting”. Sebastian’s review conveys how special this scent is. One of the best aromatic citrus fragrances out there for sure. My fave Xerjoff scent is Nio. Based in the US.

  • Nice review Sebastian! Xerjoff makes exceptionally elegant fragrances and a traditional citrus based cologne with mint sounds lovely in the waning days of summer. Favorite Xerjoff is Irisss. Commenting from the US.

  • Renaissance 1861 I expect to smell like Mint Lime Cake , really good fragrance i presume according to Sebastian.
THE best Xerjoff I’ve smelled called Italica. Exclusive to Harvey Nichols , and they do not want to ship it to US . On top of all it’s not even available at xerjoffuniverse , which was a shock to me. Smells very, and I mean very similar to a traditional Toffee Almond Cake with spelt flour, unsweetened cocoa powder , almonds , buttermilk , strong brewed coffee, dark rum , bittersweet chocolate , salt. It’s a traditional Italian cake. I’m pretty sure the cake was the inspiration behind Italica. One of the best realistically smelling gourmands , and top 3 gourmands in my collection, and I have over 80. It was really hard for me to get it , because I had to find someone to get it for me in UK , and bring it to the States.
Appreciate Sebastian review, and the giveaway campaign

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

Fresh and aromatic – I love mint too – Renaissance sounds right up my alley. My favorite Xerjoff is Richwood.

I live in Nashville, TN USA.

  • I’d love to be able to acquire A bottle of Renaissance 1861. Was able to sample this and liked it better than Nio. Green citrus fragrance that is soft but has good longevity. Always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. Thanks for the draw, Ca

  • I found it interesting that several times Sebastian described this fragrance as very smooth, especially for an aromatic citrus scent. I love mint in fragrance, and where I’m located (in Texas) we still have many weeks of hot weather!

  • Honeydew Crenshaw says:

straight-forward and to the point review; intrigued to get another iteration of a bright open with a woody/earthy dry-down

    US

  • John Michael Jones says:

Oh man what a treat! My two favorites in one package? Sébastian & Xerjoff!! I enjoy all of Sébastian’s reviews but this one was extra fun cause Xerjoff is my favorite house & Sébastian is my favorite reviewer! My favorite from Xerjoff is Naxos! I can’t get enough of it! Goodluck from Boston, Ma!

  • ScentitarFragrance says:

This is actual my favorite xerjoff !!!! It is so refreshing and well blended. I love how sebastion talked about the mint being rounded and smooth. He always does a great job of talking about the main accords too ! Thank you for this chance

  • Thank you Sebastian for another great review and I like that you found this to be soft in wearing 🙂 I came to know the house of Xerjoff from Sebastian’s Youtube channel and have come to love most that I have tried from this house. My runaway favorite is Naxos closely followed by Mefisto Gentiluomo and ‘More Than Words’. I’m in USA

  • Sebastian’s review really piqued my interest in this fragrance. He really knows his stuff when it comes to describing fragrances and his take on this scent is fantastic! I love the way he describe the notes and the beautiful way they were blended. I’ve never tried anything from this house before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • I really like fresh fragrances and this sounds like a good one. Don’t often hear cozy and fresh used for the same fragrance so definitely would interested in trying this.

  • I find Xerjoff to be one the top 5 brands of high end perfumery. One of my the first niche purchases was Lira early 2012… early March I think.
Doesn’t matter is you like safe , daring or sweet, Xerjoff portfolio is big , and you’re covered .
Renaissance 1861 attracts me green facets , and how smooth it is.
As I said Lira was my first Xerjoff purchase, and I still love it, but it’s not my favorite one, not anymore, Cruz del Sur II is , followed by Golden Dallah and then comes Lira.
    Cheers from VA

  • I liked how Sebastian went beyond telling us what the notes were but got into how the different notes were used and blended to make this unlike many other fragrances that use the same ones. He gave an agreeable sense of what the wearing experience would be like. I have not tried any Zerjoff fragrances, but have read much about them. This sounds like a great place to start. In the US, in NC.

  • This sounds like a really nice fragrance. Sebastian kept mentioning how smooth and soft the fragrance wears. I love those heart notes of rose, lily of the valley and mint. I like that the mint note is very prominent. I only own one Xerjoff (a gourmand) so I’d love to add a fresh one.
    I live in the USA.

  • I really enjoyed how Sebastian described the way that freshness of the citrus top notes is very well complimented by the mint. I also really enjoyed how he described the fragrance as very light, smooth, and easy to wear instead of being sharp on the nose, something that is common in really fresh fragrances.

  • So great review! Thank you Sebastian and Michelyn. I tested Reinassance 3 or 4 days ago – such a great combination of fresh and little bitter citruses, mint and smooth and fresh woody notes.
    USA

  • I enjoyed this video and little description in this article. It’s make me to go and test this perfume again. I like Uden, Naxos, Nio and I can say Xerjoff are master to create citrusy perfumes. I like refreshing perfumes and this one is amazing with minty, bitter notes. It seem there are tarragon too.

I like the fresh fragrances and the presence of the notes of Petitgrain, mandarin and amber.
My favorite Xerjoff perfume from the reviews I have seen is Alexandria II

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, with an amazing review of Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance. This sounds like an amazing fresh, green, and aromatic fragrance. I enjoyed the bitterness of petitgrain in fragrances and enjoy a nice mint note to accent a fragrance. Sebastian loves a nice realistic mint note in fragrances and this fragrance is no exception. A nice cozy drydown of cedar and amber for added depth to the fragrance. My favorite Xerjoff perfume is Naxos. I am from the USA.

  • I live in California, where it’s been hot, steamy, and smokey for weeks. Although I haven’t tried other Xerjoff scents, the “round and soft” quality of the citrus, herb, mint, and amber notes, as described by Sebastian in his video, sounds downright heavenly. I need this. Please help a girl out!

  • Mint always makes me hesitant but Sebastian’s reviews always make me reconsider. He does a great job of describing not just the notes but the feeling of a fragrance. I’m in the US.

  • I am excited by Sebastian’s description of the Mint and Citrus combination. Thank you for your consideration!

  • Flying Penguin says:

I really loved how Renaissance blends the mint into other citrus scents, which would make a perfect summer scent for me. My favorite fragrance from the house was Nio (as you can tell, I’m a citrus lover). As always, I really appreciate Sebastian’s lovely review. Thank you. USA

  • Enjoyable read as usual , Sebastian imo is the best reviewer on Cafleurebon .
1861 Renaissance is gorgeous indeed , underrated fragrance. I do remember the times Michelyn was referring about her 2011 interview. I remember well the look of the original bottles.
I just want to add for the people, who’s afraid of mint fragrances, don’t be , Renaissance is smooth, and the mint is not toothpaste kind of mint.
Xerjoff is one best niche brands ever created. Of course I can’t say i love all they got , but undoubtedly well blended perfumes , variety is pretty big, so every fragrance lover should be able to find pleasing to his taste fragrance. At this moment I own 6 Xerjoff bottles . My favorite one is Mamluk .
All the profiles I already follow on Instagram.

  • Great review by Sebastian! I am glad that he emphasized on how “smooth” this fragrance is, especially since some citrus fragrances can be very sharp. I am happy that he said that the mint in this one is not pungent. Overall, this sounds like a fragrance that I would love to try and I love mint. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • m.r.everything says:

This was such a great surprise to see Renaissance reviewed by Sebastian. I just got on a very small Xerjoff sampling kick and I had to get all of the ones in the 1861 line…. Naxos, Renaissance, and Zefiro. I absolutely love all of the scents from Xerjoff and can’t get enough of them now. I recently bought a full bottle of Naxos and More than Words. Renaissance, Kobe, and Nio are next on my list to get! I love the minty citrus in Renaissance! It is to die for! I’m with Sebastian on liking mint, but I would have to go as far as to say that I actually LOVE mint. I love all mint…. spearmint, peppermint, wild mint… I like eating mint, and really enjoy it in my fragrances! I don’t care if it is toothpaste-y or elegant, like here in Renaissance, I love mint in all forms, so this one is more than up my alley! This will be in my collection one day, and one day soon! Thank you Sebastian, for your thoughts and take on 1861 Renaissance! A huge thanks to Europerfumes/Eden Square for your generosity and for this amazing opportunity! This is appreciated more than you know! Thank you, as always, to Michelyn, for everything you do for the fragrance community! You are greatly appreciated! Sending well wishes and gratitude from Delaware, US. Good luck all and stay safe friends!

  • When I think about Xerjoff pictures of Mefisto always comes to mind. Being a barber my love for aromatic and citrusy fragrances comes naturally. Lavender is prominent, but don’t push it into mature territory. Super classy, yet not overly aggressive fragrance, exactly what I expect from Renaissance.
Mefisto is more dressed up day time occasions scent, but Renaissance 1861 feels like a sensual, every day fragrance.
Thanks to Sebastian , and to Europerfumes for the giveaway.USA

One of the biggest houses in niche perfumery , also known for citrus fragrances , adding this to my collection would be a dream come true , new york , usa .

  • I loved Sebastian’s review of this fragrance, the mandarine, mint, petitgrain, lime are some of my favorite notes. Sebastian describing this scent as a cozy citrus fresh scent, is something I have never heard of before, a cozy citrus scent! I love citrus fresh scents and I would love to try this one. I do not have a fave Xerjoff scent as of yet! I live in the US.

  • Sebastian as usual is great in his review.
I like how they used citrus here. Definitely would like to try. Best xerjoff is naxos. Los Angeles

  • Tom Netherland says:

Courtesy Sebastian’s superb review of Xerjoff’s 1861 Renaissance, I would love to own a bottle. I love aromatic green fragrances. Plus, given that I’ve always wanted to own a Xerjoff fragrance, this one sounds perfect for me.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s discussion of the notes in a fragrance. I love the idea that mint takes center stage here. Sounds great for summer. Many thanks for a most enjoyable review and for a really great draw. I’m in the USA
