We Love This Store: Parfum Le Dance, Richmond London

There are some stores that do more than sell fragrance. They invite conversation, cultivate beauty, and—at their best—form a kind of sanctuary. Parfum Le Dance, which opened its doors on May 1st in the heart of Richmond, London (Southwest London), belongs firmly to that rare category. It’s a boutique built not on trend forecasting or viral design, but on conviction, cultural intelligence, and love for independent scent-making. And that’s why, in every sense, we love this store.

Curated by Derya Turkan, whose background in cultural programming and visual arts informs every corner of the space, Parfum Le Dance moves beyond the idea of a “concept store.” It feels more like a curated salon: a place where scent is experienced slowly, where each perfume is chosen not just for its profile, but for its point of view.

The interior reflects this intentionality—rich walnut woods, mossy olive-green walls, soft white sculptural lighting. There is warmth in the textures, depth in the palette, and clarity in the layout. One gets the sense that Derya has thought not only about the perfumes, but about how they breathe in space.

The launch Parfum Le Dance event brought that vision to life in full. It was a gathering of creators, editors, and enthusiasts—a celebration of the UK’s thriving independent perfume community. The evening felt like a living journal entry: full of shared stories, old friends reunited, and new chapters waiting to unfold.

Several founders were in attendance, generously giving their time and presence. Sarah McCartney of 4160 Tuesdays, whose scents always dance between British eccentricity and emotional depth. Nick Steward of Gallivant, refining the cityscape into elegant, wearable form. Simon Shaer of Neshama Perfume, whose work is steeped in musicality, memory, and the spiritual search. The soulful team behind Shiraz Perfumes, whose rich blends offer quiet opulence. And it was a pleasure to see the vibrant presence of Mabelle O’rama, whose striking, cross-cultural narratives are expressed through her namesake house, and the refined storytelling of Olfactive O, a British brand exploring identity through olfactory archetypes.

The boutique’s shelves read like a love letter to craftsmanship. Brands such as Renier, with its artistic intensity from the Czech Republic, Manos Gerakinis from Greece with his Mediterranean sensuality, and the contemporary Italian elegance of Giardini di Toscana and the straightforward direction of Soma Parfums of the UK sit alongside this dynamic offering. Not simply a portfolio—it’s a carefully edited conversation.

What struck me most was how organic the evening felt. Conversations were unhurried. People lingered. Blotters were shared like notes passed in school. There was no hard sell, no performative brand speak—just real people responding to scent, sometimes with language, sometimes with a simple pause and a smile.

Derya moved through the evening with grace and presence—equal parts host, curator, and quiet anchor. Her ability to hold space—for both scent and people—is what will give this boutique its staying power. And that’s what sets Parfum Le Dance apart: it isn’t just a place to discover perfume. It’s a place to return to.

At ÇaFleureBon, the We Love This Store Series of over 20 retailers has always been about recognizing physical spaces that elevate perfumery as art, as culture, and as human connection. Parfum Le Dance embodies all of these. It’s a reminder that fragrance is not just product—it is process, dialogue, memory, and presence.

A sincere thank you to Tom (@thescentiest), whose generosity and effort helped bring this gathering to life.-Karl

oh! i just realised how i could look up series on this blog– excited to check out the “we love this store” spotlight features on other stores in this series!!

yay for the successful opening of parfum le dance– they have a great selection of niche perfume brands… i wonder if they’ll be able to partner with some american perfume houses in the future (i’ve heard many EU & UK located friends lament how difficult it is to get their nose on US fragrances especially lately with the tariffs/etc…)
