Top Ten Perfumes of 2024 Olya and Steven

2024 has been a busy year for the world of fragrance, with over 6,000 launches keeping noses busy and hearts racing. Testing, reviewing, and curating the year’s standouts has been a challenge, sure—but one I’ve tackled with joy, caffeine, and an unwavering love for the art of scent. From designer classics to niche creations, the olfactory scene has been brimming with creativity. Gourmands have held onto their crown, serving up a buffet of savory, fruity, and floral decadence. A surprising MVP are the bread accords – croissants, buttery brioches, and even puff pastries wafting through this year’s releases. Lychees and strawberries also made a juicy splash, showing up in everything from candy-sweet concoctions to elegant floral bouquets. Cherry accords have had their moment too—and as someone who loves to eat, smell, and wear it, I’m thrilled it’s here to stay. Salt stepped up as a star ingredient, no longer just about sea breezes and tropical getaways. Instead, it’s morphed into complex, savory-fresh blends that transport you to far-flung shores, minus the coconut cocktails. And let’s not forget—the florals made a serious comeback this year. From light, airy whispers to bold, extravagant bouquets, they’ve brought a fresh, feminine elegance to the scene. In a year dominated by unapologetically sweet releases (sometimes too sweet), these florals felt like a breath of fresh air—chic, timeless, and perfectly balanced.

It’s an electric time to be in the fragrance world, where every launch feels like an invitation to a new adventure, the one I happily and gratefully accept. Keeping up with it all is no small feat, but it’s a challenge I embrace every year—with a brave heart, an eager nose, and a lot of excitement. So, let’s close out 2024 on a high note. Here are my top ten perfumes 2024 in a year that’s been anything but ordinary. –Olya Bar, Editor

What did Influencers choose as top ten perfumes of 2024

Top Ten Perfumes of 2024 Olya

Roja Parfums Elysium Pour Femme (Roja Dove): An ode to femininity, this fragrance was love at first spritz. Fresh, airy, and luminous, it instantly transported me to a serene floral shop—sunlight streaming in, elegant blooms basking in their delicate beauty. Roja Elysium Pour Femme is a celebration of an unwavering, independent spirit, capturing the essence of feminine energy with grace and power. In the Elysium universe, our heroine strides across an imagined landscape, her presence as commanding as nature itself. The scent evokes long green stems, freshly cut and glistening with morning dew, their crisp, earthy aroma mingling with the air. Then, the florist opens the refrigerator door, and a chilled burst of fragrance greets you. Inside, pristine blooms stand like regal ice queens, their delicate petals perfectly preserved in their crystalline habitat. It’s a scent that feels alive—vibrant, sophisticated, and utterly unforgettable.@rojaparfums

Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova (Patricia de Nicolaï): Inspired by the grace of a ballerina en pointe, the fragrance pirouettes on the skin with an opening of zesty passionfruit and sun-ripened pineapple. It gracefully settles into a creamy whisper of peach—just shy of ripeness, its fuzzy softness kissed with a hint of rum for depth. Much like the dessert’s airy meringue, it’s not overly lactonic but perfectly balances the crunch and softness of whipped egg whites. As Nicolai’s first foray into gourmands, this composition is nothing short of spectacular, achieving an exquisite harmony of fruity sweetness and light, airy elegance. @nicolaïparfumeurcréateur @michaudenicolay

The 7 Virtues Candied Lychee (Barb Stegemann & Julie Pluchet): The name couldn’t be more fitting for this latest launch, a fragrance that embodies sustainability, clean ingredients, and a commitment to giving back. With the bold slogan “Make Perfume, Not War” stamped on every bottle, this brand radiates positivity and purpose. Candied Lychee is an effervescent burst of sweetness, blending the fizzy sparkle of lychee and watermelon candies with soft peonies and dewy green roses. At its heart, a playful jelly bean accord adds a whimsical twist, while the dry-down wraps you in the cozy embrace of sweet, airy vanilla. Optimistic, fun, and undeniably flirtatious, this fragrance is as addictive as it is cheerful. I found myself reaching for it constantly, so much so that half the bottle disappeared over a single summer—proof of its irresistible charm. @cpl_aromas @the7virtues @barbstegemann

Initio Parfums Prive Narcotic Delights: Launched as part of the Carnal Blends collection, this fragrance is one intoxicating blend of sensuality and sex, built around the luminous allure of Hedione. It opens with a delectable cocktail of pink pepper, cognac, and cherries, layered over a warm base of vanilla and tobacco. Rich, deep, and indulgent, it evokes the refined elegance of a fine cigar dipped in aged cognac, each note unfolding with the complexity of a well-matured wine. The cherries take center stage—ripe, jammy, and full-bodied—while the tobacco and vanilla create a smooth, enveloping warmth. For some, it might bring to mind the sweet, smoky richness of hookah, with its layered intensity and comforting depth. This release quickly became one of my favorites from the house, perfect for evenings and special occasions—much like a cherished bottle of cognac, brought out to celebrate unforgettable moments. @initioparfumsprives

Andrea Maack Jest (Julien Rasquinet): Deep, boozy plum meets crisp, juicy apple, swirled with a cocoa powder musk that feels both indulgent and airy. Jest captures the playful spirit of early fall, blending rum-soaked baking spices, syrupy vanilla, and the soft, creamy allure of heliotrope. This is no ordinary vanilla —it’s truly one of a kind. The fruits are rich and macerated in liquor, the chocolate dances between dark and milky, and the apple delivers a perfect balance of fresh sweetness and crunch. At the heart of it all is a warm, enveloping vanilla that feels like a cozy embrace. If you have a weakness for sweet scents with an unexpected twist, this one’s worth every sniff. Playful yet sophisticated, it’s a treat that’s anything but ordinary.@andreamaack @julienrasquinet @cpl_aromas and cpl_aromas_visionary

Guerlain Patchouli Paris (Delphine Jelk):  One of my top ten perfumes of 2024, this fragrance might just send a shiver down your spine—it’s a rich, lustful take on patchouli, inspired by the dazzling spirit of Parisian nights. Delphine Jelk captures the essence of a Paris evening, weaving together the fresh vibrancy of the Seine with the sultry warmth of patchouli, evoking the electric energy of Montmartre, Pigalle, and beyond. Sparkling aldehydes and airy musks dance alongside earthy, damp patchouli, which takes center stage, blazing against powdery, woody iris—a nod to the red glow of Paris’ artistic and passionate spirit. The scent trail feels like walking home at dawn after a night of love, leaving behind a rich, amber-toned sillage of vanilla, ambergris, and musk. Patchouli Paris radiates the vibrancy, freedom, and magnetic charm of the city that never sleeps.@guerlain @delphinejelk

Parfums de Marly Palatine(Hamid Merati-Kashani & Julien Sprecher): The latest feminine-forward fragrance from the brand takes one of the most classic notes in women’s perfumery—violet—and completely modernizes it. The result is an ultra-feminine yet lively, with lush and delicious layers of juicy mandarins, ripe pears, candied violets, and warm vanilla, rounded out with a touch of soft, soapy musks in the base. It’s contemporary, super easy to wear, and perfectly fits that flirtatious yet demure vibe—modern but with a cozy touch of warm nostalgia. @parfumsdemarly @hamidmeratikikashani

Best Fragrances of 2024 award

Dusita Pelagos Extrait (Pissara Umavijani): Pelagos, meaning “sea” in Greek, is inspired by Pissara’s deeply cherished memories of the Aegean Sea islands. The first time I wore this fragrance was during the height of summer at a secluded beach lagoon on Long Island. It was the perfect moment to drench my skin in this half-salty, half-savory scent, which eventually settled into the most stunning traces of a fougère. This is one of the most unique fragrances I’ve encountered, shifting and evolving with every hour. Its journey is almost impossible to fully capture because I believe it will feel entirely unique to each wearer. And finally, I loved the subtle touch of masculinity it left behind after a few hours and a couple of dips in the ocean—a scent that lingers like a memory of the sea. Pelagos was also Ida’s, Nicoleta’s and Danu’s top ten perfumes of 2024@parfumsdusita @ploiuma @parfumsdusitaparis

Atelier Des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait (Marie Salamagne): Part of the newest Abstraction Collection, this release invites you to push boundaries, spark your imagination, and explore a world where the familiar meets the abstract. Kawa Karda is a must-sniff for coffee enthusiasts, with an aroma that’s as intricate as it is captivating. The coffee accord alone is a sensory masterpiece, blending notes of roasted hazelnuts, smoky cacao, caramelized sugar, and a touch of dark molasses. Its natural bitterness is beautifully rounded out by deep, earthy undertones, while the steam carries a heady, invigorating aroma that feels almost alive. Add cardamom to the mix, and the experience transforms. The tiny green pods introduce a sweet, citrusy spice with hints of pine and soft floral nuances, elevating the warmth of the coffee to something exotic and profoundly comforting. Together, they craft a fragrance that is bold, complex, and perfectly balanced—an olfactory journey that is as grounded as it is otherworldly. @atelierdesors @marie_salamagne

Commodity Juice (Nathalie Benareau): Commodity’s latest release, three years in the making, is a mouthwatering summer cocktail that lands just in time for the season. Originally founded in 2013, the brand has been completely reinvented under Vicken Arslanian, founder of Europerfumes and owner of Twisted Lily, elevating Commodity into a DTC powerhouse and a staple at Sephora worldwide. This scent opens with juicy strawberries and sweet raspberry pulp, setting the stage for a lush heart of Bulgarian rose. Tangy rhubarb adds a green twist, while cyclamen gives it a sharp, piquant edge. The fizzy, effervescent vibe feels like a sparkling summer mocktail—think sugar-rimmed glass, fizzy water, and a garnish of fresh raspberries and strawberries. Its structure dances between fruity and floral, with a dry down of modern, airy amberwood that lingers softly on the skin. Refreshing, addictive, and effortlessly chic—this one’s a summer essential. @commodity @nathaliebenareauperfumer

Micallef Il Était Une Nuit This fragrance is a doorway to childhood nostalgia and the wonder of grown-up daydreams. It evokes the joy of diving into soft, freshly fallen snow, creating angels with the carefree innocence of youth. This reimagined version of their 2002 fragrance Watch is richer, denser, and wrapped in a nostalgic warmth that evokes snow-covered villages, twinkling stars, and cozy gatherings. Candied peaches and plums soaked in brandy, with a bold tuberose in the heart and warm sensual vanilla. @parfumsmicallef

Chanel Comete (Olivier Polge):Gabrielle Chanel’s fascination with the stars didn’t stop at inspiration—it reshaped the world of high jewelry in 1932 with her groundbreaking Bijoux de Diamants collection. At its core, the Comète necklace captured the magic of a shooting star, embodying the personal connection between wearer, jewelry, and scent. Comète Eau de Parfum, crafted by In-House Perfumer Olivier Polge. This luminous and sensual fragrance sparkles like stardust, blending fresh cherry blossom, powdery iris, and soft heliotrope. Minimal yet transformative, it feels like a second skin with a touch of beautiful vintage sophistication.@chanel. beauty

Infiniment Coty Encore un Fois (Fabrice Pellegrin) – this new collection of 14 fragrances, envisioned by CEO Sue Y. Nabi and Nicolas Vu—founders of Orveda skincare—brings cutting-edge innovation to perfumery with its Molecular Aura technology, designed to capture and release notes over time. Encore un Fois is an unapologetic elixir of carnal indulgence—a heady, balmy blend of Vanilla Bourbon, Orchid Vanilla, and the dark amber depth of Peru Balsam. The result is a rich, intoxicating vanilla concoction that’s as addictive as it is sultry. I can’t seem to put my bottle down these days—voluptuousness bottled, a sensory loop of eternal beginnings.@infinimentcoty @fabnose

Top 10 Fragrances of 2024

2024 has been an exceptional year for fragrance lovers, with many incredible releases that have captivated our senses. From designer fragrances to some of the most high-end niche perfumes, there is something for everyone to discover. From bold, innovative blends to refined classics reimagined, this year has seen an array of scents that cater to all tastes and preferences. However, out of the numerous perfumes that have debuted, the ones I am about to list stand out as my personal top 10 favorites, each offering something truly unique and remarkable. While some are flankers, others are original releases that have truly piqued my olfactory interest. Here are my top ten perfumes of 2024 –Steven Gavrielatos, Video Contributor.

What were the best perfumes according to YouTube reviewers

Steven’s top ten perfumes of 2024

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Over Red (Honorine Blanc, Marie Salamagne, Nathalie Lorson, Olivier Cresp): his perfume captures the allure and sensuality of the original while also adding a mild cherry aroma in the opening. It unfolds beautifully while also staying true to the DNA of the original, which so many people have grown to love and appreciate! @yslbeauty @oliviercresp @nathalielorson_masterperfumeur @marie_salamagne

Amouage Guidance 46 (Quentin Bisch):  46 is such an exceptional new version. This fragrance opens with the sweet, juicy freshness of pear, complemented by the creamy warmth of almond and hazelnut. A delicate rose heart adds floral elegance, while rich incense grounds the composition, creating a captivating blend of sweetness and depth. A luxurious, inviting scent that lingers beautifully. @amouageofficial  @qunetinbischperfumeur

Lattafa Eclaire is a gourmand to the max with caramel and a lactonic accord. This perfume is as delicious as it is addictive. For the colder months of the year, it will establish a cozy sensation that you won’t want to shake. If you are a fan of some of the sweeter olfactive offerings on the market, this is one you won’t want to miss. @lattafa_perfumes

Creed Delphinus (Mathieu Nardin): This is one of the two fragrances recently introduced into the Amber Universe collection by Creed (the other being Centaurus), and this fragrance exudes a warm, velvety richness, where the smooth, nutty almond blends harmoniously with the powdery elegance of orris. Deep, smoky incense adds mystery, while bourbon vanilla wraps the composition in a sweet, comforting embrace. The result is a sophisticated, sensual scent with a lasting, indulgent allure.@creedfragrance @mat_nd

Versace Eros Energy (Jordi Fernandez): Versace Eros Energy is one of the two Eros flankers released in 2024 (the other being Eros Najim [an exclusive to Dubai]). This is the brightest one of the bunch as it bursts with the zesty freshness of lemon, blood orange, and grapefruit, creating an energizing citrus symphony. The sharp, spicy pink pepper adds a lively kick, while earthy oakmoss grounds the composition, lending a sense of depth. A refreshing, bold scent with a perfect balance of brightness and warmth. @versace @jordi_perfumer

Initio Parfums Prives Narcotic Delight is the latest introduction to the Carnal Blends collection from the brand. It features cherry, cognac, tobacco, and vanilla. It may not even be necessary to list the other notes as I believe that these four are enough to entice you! The syrupy sweetness of the cherry is compounded with the intoxicating qualities of the cognac. Absolutely superb.@initioparfumsprives

BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking Extrait (Margaux Le Paih Guerin, & Amelie Bourgeois):This intoxicating fragrance opens with the rich, boozy warmth of rum, balanced by the creamy softness of milk. Sweet, juicy cherry and nutty almond add an indulgent, comforting touch, while smoky oud anchors the composition with its deep, earthy complexity. A bold, luxurious scent that evokes warmth and allure. This is, of course, the richer version of the original Rouge Smoking. @bdkparfumsparis @ame_lie_bourgeois @margaux.lepaih.guerin

Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge (Chris Maurice): Peach lovers rejoice! Peach’s Revenge is one of the most natural smelling peach perfumes on the market. Luckily, it never gets too saccharine, but the juicy elements of the fruit are perfectly preserved. Of course, the perfume also contains other fruits like guava and nectarine, but it’s anchored by sweet tones of vanilla, amaretto, and caramel. Touches of cinnamon spice also delight the senses in this beautiful olfactory expression and one of the top ten perfumes of 2024 for Michelyn, Nicoleta and Danu. @houseofsarahbaker @cdlaniche

Kajal Äican (Huseyin Erdogmus, Ozge Erdogmus Altinel and Gokhan Simsek EPS Fragrances): This vibrant fragrance opens with the tropical zest of passionfruit and pineapple, creating a juicy, exotic blend. Warm, spicy black pepper adds a daring kick, while sweet praline and smooth vanilla provide a rich, indulgent sweetness. Soft musk rounds out the composition, creating a balanced, sensual, and unforgettable scent and one of Michelyn’s and my top ten perfumes of 2024

  • Happy New Year to the entire ÇaFleureBon team! Thank you for another year of incredible passion, dedication, and inspiring writing. For 14 years, you’ve shared your love for fragrance with us all, and it’s truly infectious. Your creativity and generosity, especially with these amazing giveaways, never fail to brighten the end of the year. Here’s to many more years of scent-filled magic!

Olya and Steven’s Top 10 Perfumes of 2024 lists were such a joy to read—so diverse and packed with exciting picks! The trends of gourmand and innovative notes like croissant, lychee, and even puff pastry were definitely intriguing this year, and I loved seeing how both of you highlighted those beautifully.

Olya’s pick of Roja Parfums Elysium Pour Femme grabbed my attention immediately—I mean, the way you described the floral shop freshness and regal energy makes me want to spritz it on right this second. And how can anyone resist the playful sweetness of The 7 Virtues Candied Lychee? I’ve never been this tempted to try a fragrance based on a jelly bean accord! Dusita Pelagos Extrait also sounds like a dream for someone who loves salty, oceanic scents like me—your description of it evolving with every wear was magical.

On Steven’s list, I’m dying to try YSL Black Opium Over Red because of that subtle cherry twist on a classic favorite—sounds irresistible! Also, Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge has been on my radar for a while now, and reading your take on it just makes me want it even more. It’s so rare to find a natural-smelling peach fragrance that doesn’t turn overly sweet. Finally, BDK Rouge Smoking Extrait—I’m already a fan of the original, and this richer, bolder version sounds absolutely divine.

As for what I’d love to win? Definitely Pavlova by Nicolaï Parfumeur-Createur. The description of zesty passionfruit, pineapple, and that creamy peach note had me swooning—so light, airy, and elegant. Thank you for the opportunity, and wishing you all a fantastic 2025 ahead!

    Greetings from the EU, Germany

  • Thank you for this exciting giveaway and the inspiring top 10 list! My choice is Initio Narcotic Delight. Its intriguing composition sounds truly mesmerizing, and I’d love to explore its essence. Best of luck to everyone, and thank you for the opportunity! I’m from Europe! Happy new year!

  • Before I begin, I am from the US and would like to recieve Peach’s revenge if I win. I can finally say I have tried a fragrance from the lists. Black over red from YSL is beautiful. I got to try a sample of it and while it is labeled as a feminine fragrance, do not be afraid to try it as a man. One I would like to try is Lataffa Eclaire. I have tried many lataffas and for being very affordable, they have amazing quality, so do not let the price decieve you.

  • Wow, so many great perfumes!

I adore Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova, Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Over Red & Lattafa Eclaire.

I’m interested in trying Initio Parfums Prive Narcotic Delights: rich, deep, and indulgent, it evokes the refined elegance of a fine cigar dipped in aged cognac, each note unfolding with the complexity of a well-matured wine. Also Amouage Guidance 46: a captivating blend of sweetness and depth, luxurious, inviting scent that lingers beautifully.

Brands I’m dying to try are Andrea Maack, Commodity & Kajal.

    I’d like Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova.

    I’m from Croatia, EU.

  • Ramses Perez says:

Happy New Year to all the contributors and yet again, you’ve given us a great but impossible list to build at times. There are fragrances here for everyone: fruity, floral, sweet, fresh, darker and gourmand scents and I’m truly glad we live in a world where not everyone likes the same thing as some variety and different flavors are needed. I watch Steven’s videos everyday and I thought he was going to go the more sweet/gourmand route as he has been on that sort of kick lately. Olya also lives her gourmands but gave us also unexpected ones like Pelagos (which everyone seems to love) and Candied Lychee reinforcing the belief that we don’t always want to wear the same thing over and over but crave newness. Peaches Revenge is my choose should I win and from what I’ve seen so far, it’s everyone’s go-to peach scent since its release. I’m located in the US.

  • Nicole Theodoropoulos says:

Amazing list! Particularly love Guidance 46, Rouge Smoking Extrait and Encore Une Fois! I live in MA and I would love to win either one! Peach’s Revenge has been on my to sniff list and Pavlova sounds heavenly (and is my favorite dessert!). Happy 2025!

  • I bought the Micallef advent calendar and I think En Nuit is in it, but I haven’t gotten to try it yet. I will correct that shortly! The gift draw today is actually the two perfumes from this lot that appeal to me the most. I loved all three of the Parfums de Nicolai gourmand scents, and Pavlova, like the other two, is understated and beautiful. I would love to win it but in any case I’ll be buying it at some point this year. And The Sarah Baker Peach Revenge has my curiosity aroused as it has been mentioned by various Cafleurebon writers, as you also mentioned. I would love either one of these. Thank you to the generous perfume sponsors, as well as Olya and Steven.

  • I loved smelling Narcotic Delight by Initio Parfum Prives. It’s so deep and rich. My mouth waters any time someone talks about a lychee fragrance and I keep hearing such wonderful things about Candied Lychee by the 7 Virtues so it must be incredible! I’ve also beard countless good things about the Peaches Revenge release by Sarah Baker and that is the one I am entering the draw to win! Dreaming, wishing, hoping!! From Portland, USA.

  • Both Steven and Olya have great top ten lists. Narcotic Delighr, Rouge Smoking Extrait and Jest. I feel in love with these fragrances this year as well. I can’t wait to explore more on their lists. I would love to try Peach’s Revenge.

    USA

  • Happy New Year’s Eve. Olya and Steven’s Top 10 Perfumes of 2024 were wonderful Pick’s. Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge has been on my sample list . Thank you for this chance USA

  • Lattafa eclair from Steven really appeals . A gourmand to the max! And Aican from Kajal which I own after the review May. From olya pavlova as it sounds delicious like the dessert and atelier des ors KAWA KARDA. 6000 + new launches that’s scary.
    USA

  • The gourmand and fruity floral selections in both Olya and Steven’s lists stood out to me this time. On Olya’s list, Initio Parfums Prive Narcotic Delights intrigues me because every time I have Pierre Ferrand cognac I think, “this would be a good perfume” – so I want to experience how the cognac fits into this composition. From Steven’s list… it’s been a while since I tried an Amouage fragrance but Guidance 46 sounds totally different to the incense-heavy scents I tried before, I’d love to see how this one smells since it features a few of my favorite gourmand notes. Both prizes sound delightful (and delicious) but my pick to win would be Sarah Baker’s Peach’s Revenge… the name is just too cheeky and I’m in the mood for a peach bomb. I’m in the USA, thank you for the draw. Happy New Year!

  • From what I read and saw, 2024 saw a blend of fresh, floral, bold, and deep fragrances making their mark. For instance, Rasasi’s Hawas Pour Homme Eau De Parfum was noted for its unique balance of fresh and spicy notes, making it a favorite among many1. Lattafa’s Yara Eau De Parfum also stood out with its elegant and playful twist, combining fresh citrus top notes with a heart of jasmine and rose all of these beautiful fragrances and reviews certainly sparked my interest. I would love to try and also win a 30 ml bottle Pavlova. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025!!!

  • Another great list! From Olya’s and Steven’s list, Jest and Kawa Karda caught my attention for fragrances outside of my usual choices that sound like they have an interesting twist. Of the two fruity perfumes in the draw, they both sound amazing, and I would be delighted to win either. Thank you for sharing again your favorite choices of the year. So much amazing perfume this year!!
    Ca, USA

  • A great list by Olya and Steven respectively from Olyas list two really stood out for me Andrea maak Jest and Guerlain Patchouli Paris. From Stevens list Sarah Baker Peaches revenge with fruits and spices sounds delicious. If I am lucky I would like to win Sarah Bakers Peaches revenge. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Absolutely fantastic list two fragrances really piqued my interest from you Olya and Stevens list were Andrea Maack Jest and Sarah Baker Peaches revenge. If I am successful would love to win Sarah Bakers Peaches revenge. Thanks a million from the UK

  • Happy New Year! I enjoyed reading about the Carnal Blends collection from Initio Parfums Prives. Narcotic Delight sounds absolutely delicious. I like the combination of cherries and cognac. If lucky, I’d choose Pavlova. MI USA

  • Happy New Year, everyone! What a wonderful pair of lists we have to round out the year! I again see many familiar choices, but there are definitely some unique picks as well. I see Kajal Aican was mentioned again. I got to sample it recently and it is a stunning composition, with just the right blend of fruits, spices, and resins. Commodity Juice is a fragrance that I don’t believe I’ve seen featured in anyone’s Top 10 list, which is a bit surprising. I found it to be a wonderful blend of red fruit and rich woods. (And can we talk about the marketing? The advertising images for that fragrance just make you want to drink it up!)Guidance 46 is one that I need to get my nose on soon. In fact, I still need to try the original Guidance. I think I’ll make trying both versions an early goal for 2025. The scents featured in the giveaway have been pretty heavily lauded this year, though Peach’s Revenge is the only one I’ve tried. It’s amazing and would be my pick if my comment is chosen. I love everything about Sarah Baker’s brand and Peach’s Revenge fits so nicely into place both olfactively and narratively. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Olya and Steven’s Top 10 Perfumes of 2024 is an incredible showcase of the year’s creativity and diversity in fragrance. The description of Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova immediately caught my attention. The blend of passionfruit, pineapple, and peach with a touch of rum sounds like a perfectly balanced combination of fruity sweetness and elegance. I love the idea of a fragrance inspired by the grace of a ballerina, as it exudes a sense of refinement and sophistication. I live in the EU and would love to enter the draw for Pavlova. Thank you for the opportunity and for sharing such a delightful list of fragrances!

  • I am very excited to get my nose on Comte when I go to Miami and visit a Chanel boutique. Now I am seriously considering blind buying that Micallef limited edition after reading about it again here. I am interested in the Molecular Aura technology. I would love to test this line this year. The bread notes have been a nice change in the gourmand territory. Thanks for sharing all these great finds, so many releases and the end of the year is where I find what I missed out on. I’d love to win Peach’s Revenge because I’ve seen it on a lot of favorite lists. USA.

  • wonderscent.mari says:

    Happy New Year everyone!
Thank you for the nice overview and reviews although I have tried absolutely nothing in these lists but I am hoping to soon get my nose on most of them!
I am particularly intrigued by Jest Andrea-Maack from Olya’s list, which sounds a delightful gourmand scent. A wonderful creation. Rum, apple, plum and soft spicyness. Defently have to sniff it!
Another one that sparkled my interest to explore it asap was from Steven’s list the Peach’s Revenge by Sarah Baker, which sounds to me a fun joyful and flirty scent. I haven’t tried yet a true peach scent so it’s better start with his one.
Thank you so much for your wonderful giveaway, I will choose Pavlova by Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur, cause I imagine it as it reflects the dessert’s light, fruity sweetness with an airy quality. Sounds so delicious and fantastic one!
Thank you for this opportunity and wishing you both a fantastic and successful 2025!
    Mamy greetings
    I live in Germany EU

  • foreverscents says:

I love reading Olya’s reviews and watching Steven’s videos. They brought me happiness in 2024.
Olya’s recommendation of Jest made me think that I have yet to try anything from Andrea Maack. I am also very excited to try the new Coty fragrances.
Steven has inspired me to try Black Opium Over Red. I am also searching out Àican from Kajal.
If I were the winner of the draw, I would choose Peach’s Revenge.
    I live in the USA.

  • Well these lists have more fragrances I am not familiar with than previous ones. With the exception of Dusita’s Pelagos which I agree is the most unique coastal fragrance ever! I can’t say it’s an aquatic although you feel you are at the beach, on the coast. The sea grasses and scrubby Mediterranean weeds (Lebanese thyme?) are amazingly captured. It’s magical and I love it. Ok…so much to research now!
Both giveaways sound scrumptious and both perfumers are amazing. I guess Sarah Baker has a slight lead as I am interested in the amaretto and cinnamon in it. Thank you for the generous giveaway and your well thought out lists out of 6,000?!!! I am located in USA.
    Happy New Year to all!

  • Happy New Year! Nice to see the top 10s continue. Thanks Steven and Olya for highlighting their favourites. I have tried Pelagos and Peaches Revenge which I both love. My interest is peaked by Maack’s Jest and will definitely seek it out. Would love to win Peaches Revenge. Marit in the UK

  • Thank you to Olya and Steven for these great picks! Lots of fruit, florals and spice in the bunch, and they sound scrumptious…I wish I could sample them all. What a generous giveaway with Peach Revenge and Pavlova both! How difficult to decide between the two, they have both gotten rave reviews by many of the CaFleurBon editors. Alas, as a ballerina myself, I am partial to the name of Pavlova, and Olya describes it as delicate, which also suites my tastes. That would be my top choice if I were to win. Thank you again to the editors for all their hard work to share the best of the best with us! I live in the USA.

  • I love the abundance of gourmand perfumes in 2024 as mentioned by Olya, especially the ones featuring stone fruits like peach and cherry. I would love to win a bottle of Peach’s Revenge from Sarah Baker. I have a sample and it is among my most complimented scents. MD, USA,

Hi there, it was fun to read these Top 2024 Choices, because some of the fragrances answered questions I’ve had: What is Andrea Maack up to(Jest)? How has Commodity settled now that they’ve closed up and reopened(Juice)? Are there any really striking patchouli blends that I haven’t tried yet(Patchouli Paris)? It was also great to see Sarah Baker’s Peach’s Revenge mentioned again…I was on a tear a couple of years ago to find the ideal peach frangrance, and this one might just check all the boxes for me. I’d prefer Peach’s Revenge if I win the drawing! Thank you so much for all of the throughful and well-written insight into 2024’s new fragrances. All of the entries have indeed added many to my “to sniff” list.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year! I am in NYC/USA.

  • Another set with very little overlap to my own experience this year (though I’m happy once again to see Pelagos on here — I really can’t overstate the impression my sample made on me). As a recent Nicolaï convert, it’s been fascinating seeing the polarized reaction to the new scents; I don’t think I’ve seen such vitriol and such accolades, with essentially no in-betweens, for any other release in a long time. It’s not surprising to see Peach’s Revenge crop up as well, as it’s been much talked-about in a way that’s more than piqued my interest! A new year’s resolution of mine is to brave categories of fragrance I’ve long been skeptical of, and I intend to start with gourmands, so this giveaway could be a good chance to get my feet wet… of the two, Peach’s Revenge is the one I’d most like to win, as I think its storied complexity could ease the transition for me. I’m based in the US!

  • I see some repeats here from previous Top Ten lists, which only makes me want to try things more! Pelagos is definitely on my Try List. And another I’ve sampled! Delphinus, there you are! As usual, I have edited my Try List while reading over these choices. Always something intriguing in there and hearing how they strike various people is always interesting to me. I live in the US and would pick Peach’s Revenge, if my name were to be drawn.

  • Olya’s breakdown of the trends this year caught my attention—I had forgotten about all the bread accords in gourmands and I like salty notes outside of marine fragrances. I’m intrigued by the indulgent hookah-like Narcotic Delight, the artistry of Guerlain Patchouli Paris, and Dusita Pelagos Extrait (which keeps popping up in these lists, so it must be pretty great). From Steven’s recommendations, the citrus accord in Versace Eros Energy sounds zingy, Narcotic Delight still sounds perfect for a cold day, and I want to smell that black pepper note in Kajal Äican.

I’m in the USA. If I were to win, I’d choose Nicolaï Parfumeur-Createur Pavlova. Happy new year!

  • I truly can’t believe there were over 6,000 launches in 2024! It sounds like it really was the year of gourmands. While I do enjoy gourmand fragrances, I don’t like cloying sweetness. Bread accords are something I usually enjoy, so it’s nice that they were an MVP for the year. I have only tried two fragrances from Olya’s top ten list. Candied Lychee sounds like a sweet and whimsical perfume. I can imagine it is very cheerful, as Olya mentions. Jest is one of the fragrances I’ve tried from Olya’s list, and I really enjoyed it. It is a cozy fragrance that is perfect for early fall. As a lover of violet, I need to add Palatine to my must-try list. Pelagos is the second fragrance I’ve tried from Olya’s list. I thought it was a very interesting composition. Lastly, as a coffee lover (in terms of drinking and the aroma), Kawa Karda has been on my radar since its release. Olya’s description of it just confirms I need to try it ASAP. I still can’t believe I haven’t tried Comete because it sounds absolutely stunning!

I haven’t tried anything from Steven’s top ten list, but I do enjoy Guidance and Rouge Smoking. I am sure I would enjoy Guidance 46 and Rouge Smoking Extrait. Lattafa Eclaire sounds like quite the delicious gourmand. As Steven mentioned, I am sure it’s very cozy. Narcotic Delight sounds like a great new release from Initio. The description reminds me of Side Effect but with the added cherry. I have been so excited about Sarah Baker’s new releases in 2024, especially Peach’s Revenge! I love that Steven mentions it’s one of the most natural-smelling peaches on the market. I love cinnamon, so I am sure I would love this spicy peach fragrance.

I would be happy to be considered for both draws, but my number one choice is Peach’s Revenge.

Thank you, Olya and Steven, for sharing your top ten lists. Thank you to Sarah Baker and Nicolai Parfumeur-Createur for their generous giveaways! I am located in the USA.

  • I loved reading through these and I am not surprised to see Pelagos by Dusita mentioned again. It’s such a dreamy meditative iris. I hope to spend more time with it soon. If chosen I would love to try Pavlova by Nicolai. I absolutely love Pavlova and think that notes of passion fruit and meringue would lend itself wonderfully to a perfume. Thanks for your wonderful reviews and the draw! I live in the US

  • I love a well executed salt note so I was very excited about what was on the list. A lot of fragrances in common with the other previously posted lists which must mean these scents are just that good! I would love to win Peach’s Revenge. Have not found a Sarah Baker scent I didn’t like, and I’ve been dreaming of a peach perfume to wear. Hello from Honolulu, HI.

  • I have had Pavlova on my to-try list since I first saw the article here on CaFleurBon about the new gourmand launches from Parfums de Nicolai. Please count me in for that one as I am eager to test it.
    I am in EU. Thanks!

  • I’ve always found the niche fragrances on these we blogs very interesting, but Steven Gavrielatos’s picks are a refreshing escape from all of these brands that I’ve never heard of. I love Inito’s scents and I’m glad to see one mentioned in this list. As for the giveaway, a bottle of Pavlova would be an amazing touch to my collection. It’s another fragrance that I thank this website for enlightening me on. Happy new year to you all! Greece, EU.

  • Very fruity choices in this post! From the fruity ones I only tried Peaches Revenge and I must say I quite liked it! But for me it’s not for every day, I not always in the mood fro fruits. I also tried Delphinus and to my nose it was a disappointing. Too girly and a bit designerish. Not my cup of tea. I have not heard about the new Inito! It sounds interesting I must sample it. For the giveaway I will pick Peache’s Revenge. I’m from Illinois US. Happy New Year everyone!

  • Thank you Olya and Steven for the nice selection. The gourmand from Patricia de Nicolai sounds very interesting. I would like to try also Dusita Pelagos as it seems to be inspired by Pissara’s memories of the Aegean sea. I think this sounds like their first aquatic scent, so I am intrigued. Another one I would like to try is Kawa Karda by Atelier Des Ors – as a coffee enthusiast this sounds captivating. From all the mentioned perfumes I only tried Creed Delphinus which smells classy and smooth. I live in EU and would like to win Pavlova.

  • As Olya says Gourmands have reached the top, even highlighting bread accords and some fruits not so used. Mme. Nicoai is the example with her new line: Macarrons, Pavlova, Saint Honore,..Candied Lychee from The 7 Virtues, Cherries from Initio Parfums in Prive Narcotic Delights, Plums from Andrea Maack in Jest , Strawberries and Raspberry from Commodity in Juice, Coffee from Atelier des Ors in Kawa Karda Extrait.. perfumery in the most delicious pantry . Steven is one of the few collaborators who chooses designer fragrances (interestingly both flankers) like Yves Saint Laurent with his Black Opium Over Red or Versace with Eros Energy . Steven also loves gourmands and agrees with Olya on Initio Parfums Prive Narcotic Delights. In addition to other gourmands, there is also another one that is on many lists as the most authentic peach in Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge and another one that Mychelyn described to me on her list as Kajal Äican. If I win, I would like to enjoy Pavlova by Nicolaï Parfumeur-Createur. I live in Spain, EU.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

This is an amazing list and there are so many I want to try. I have not tried any on Olya’s list other than Pelagos and they ALL sound so amazing. I notice Narcotic Delight is on both lists so maybe that is where I will start. The only one I own on this list is Opium Over Red and it is amazing so I’m a little scared I will love everything else mentioned. Peach’s Revenge has been on my radar and it sounds so delicious so that would be my pick. Thank you for the inspiration and draw. From the US.

  • I didn’t know much about the mentioned perfumes. Pavlova is the one who interested me the most, since I know Nicolai already and this sounds a different one coming from them! I am from Eu.

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

There are so many to mention in these lists by Steven and Olya, here are just a few that I’ve had my eye on. I’m very interested in Initio’s Narcotic Delight. As I have been on the hunt for the “right” cherry, I believe this may be it. Andrea Maack’s Jest has been on my list this year, I’ve got to get my hands on it. Guerlain’s Patchouli Paris has a chance to steal my heart, I’ll have to find it to sniff it before purchase. Eclaire and Juice being the only two I own from these lists, I have a long way to go before I’m satisfied.

As for the draw, I would absolutely love Sarah Baker’s Peach’s Revenge. It has been on my list this year and I would adore her in my collection. Happy New Year Cafleurebon Team!
    I live in Oregon.

  • I have no doubts 2024 was a busy year my nose being busy and heart racing. Olya Bar do have a point about the amount of gourmands from croissants like to fruity cherries, salt and florals. Flankers or not, bold new blends or refined classics five of Olya Bar and Steven favorites I bought in 2024 Initio Parfums Narcotic Delight, Lattafa Eclaire, Creed Delphinus, Versace Eros Energy and Commodity Juice.
Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova, Atelier Der Ors Kawa Karda, Parfums Dusita Pelagos, Andrea Maack Jest , Guerlain Patchouli Paris, M.Micallef II Était Une Nuit, Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge and BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking Extrait i need to sample. Kajal Äikan I sampled in September. I can’t say I smell a lot of black pepper in Äikan like Steven but the gold brilliance shines bright . Big fanof Dahab and I’m glad Äikan is a different kind of passion fruit fragrance. It’s also It’s interesting how no matter who the perfumer is , Kajal never disappoint its fans.
I’d prefer Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Thank you, Olya and Steven, for sharing your favorite fragrances with us.

Personally, I would single out from Olya’s selection the Roja Parfums Elysium Pour Femme—an ode to femininity. From Steven’s selection, Amouage Guidance 46, as both fragrances feature jasmine in their heart notes.

I would love to win Pavlova by Nicolaï Parfumeur-Createur.

    Thank you very much!
    From EU.

    Salutations
It could be my impressions only but 6000 releases in mind boggling. Croissants, elegant florals, tropical fruity-tawny getaways and gourmands were dominants , with some bold leather fragrances too.
It was a pleasure reading about Olya Bar and Redolessence Top Ten Perfumes of 2024 , and I’ve learned about some fragrances I’ve never heard of before.
What grabbed me the most today , in no particular order a) Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur Pavlova zesty passion fruit and lactonic composition b) Initio Parfums Prives Narcotic Delight intoxicating sexy blend c) Andrea Maack Jest both the brand and the fragrance i don’t know d) Guerlain Patchouli Paris exquisite take on patchouli e) I don’t speak Greek, and I was not aware Pelagos means sea , but I’m definitely interested into refined woody aromatic fragrances mixed with sea breeze nuances f) Atelier des Ors Kawa Karda Extrait mysterious and enigmatic coffee nature g) Amouage Guidance 46 luxurious appeal h) the new path of Creed with Delphinus i) the more intoxicating allure of BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking Extrait j) Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge Chris Maurice is the perfumer + how jubilant , happy and sexy at the same time the fragrance is + the posh nectarines with amaretto and caramel aroma k) Kajal Perfumes Äikan exotic blend , and how balanced and sensual the fragrance is
Sarah Baker Peach’s Revenge fits me greatly
    It’s been a pleasure

  • I see Hugo Boss the Scent Elixir pictured but not mentioned in the article? It’s the only bottle pictured but strangely not mentioned in the article and is also the only one I own. I find it very addictive the way the sweetness settles down to a leathery base. I’ve sampled Äican and Eros energy. I enjoyed the former but not a fan of the latter. I would be happy to win Peach’s Revenge.

  • 6,000 launches ?!?

“ Culture is perishing in overproduction, in an avalanche of words, in the madness of quantity. ”
    – Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1984)

Fantastic article, kudos to Olya and Steven who made it possible . I’ll share my thoughts on the topics, and of course fragrances I know, or want to try , and compare them with what Olya and Steven are getting.
In terms of fruity, and savory nutty , vanilic ambers being trendy i agree , at the same time there are a lot of the chypre , woody , super green, butch leathers , animalics , and heady florals too .
Pavlova by Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur, composed by Patricia de Nicolaï . Samples of the 3 new gourmands are hard to find as for now , all are quite a departure from the more classically oriented Patricia de Nicolaï. If Olya thinks the fragrance is nothing short of spectacular no doubt Pavlova is novelty smell that impressed her .
Narcotic Delight by Initio Parfums Prives tantalizes the senses , it’s boozy , smoky and seductive , with well blended spicy and fruity undertones. The reason I said fruity and not cherries is that I smell mostly plum and not sorely cherries, one of the reasons Narcotic Delight reminds me also of Paragon.
Jest by Andrea Maack, composed by Julien Rasquinet. I have no experience with the brand but plum is my favorite note in perfumery and I love boozy fragrances so…
Patchouli Paris by Guerlain, composed by Delphine Jelk is indeed a lustful patchouli , super sexy and in my opinion slightly boozy.
Palatine by Parfums de Marly, composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani and Julien Sprecher
No 80s violet, every aspect of the fragrance is up to date, tranquil and versatile , personally I also get a lot of lavender.
Pelagos by Parfums Dusita, composed by Pissara Umavijani is like photorealistic image of a small Greek village by the sea , all made up , and bottled up in a scent . The fragrance is partially vintage, partially contemporary with relaxing sea breeze nuances .
Kawa Karda Extrait by Atelier Des Ors, composed by Marie Salamagne . My opinion of Kawa Karda Extrait is almost the same as Olya’s, the fragrance is so rich and enigmatic with freshly brewed coffee with cardamom . I am a coffee snob , and I’m genuinely impressed by the coffee and cardamom notes in Kawa Karda, definitely not a modern sugary sweet Starbucks kind of smell , more like a small family owned traditional coffee shop in Turkey. Like Olya I also detect some dark chocolate in the background, woody and a just a bit earthy nuances in the drydown. The floral spice Olya is getting is most likely saffron, I also get suede leather in the background.
Black Opium Over Red by Yves Saint Laurent, composed by Honorine Blanc , Marie Salamagne, Natalie Lorson i wear myself, unisex release imo
Guidance 46 by Amouage, composed by Quentin Bisch . I own the original release but 46bis better in every sense of the way
Eclaire by Lattafa is a mouthwatering well priced gourmand
Delphinus by Creed, composed by Mathieu Nardin i like on other people. On my skin it super spicy
Rouge Smoking Extrait by BDK Parfums, composed by Margaux Le Paih Guérin and Amelie Bourgeois. I know the original release, not the extrait . Must try
Peach’s Revenge by Sarah Baker, composed by Chris Maurice. I like the perfumer, the brand – Tartan and Peaches and Campfire are in my possession , and the boozy amaretto take on peaches , smooth vanilla and pralines composition intrigues me.
ÄICAN by Kajal Perfumes, composed by EPS Fragrances Huseyin Erdogmus, Ozge Erdogmus Altinel and Gokhan Simsek. Comfortable high quality tropical and musky fragrance , natural sweetness , It’s almost like I’m smelling the sliced fruits in front of me . The black pepper is barely noticeable on my skin, but I wonder if there are some hidden notes too , because there are floral undertones too , rose maybe or iris…or maybe both.
Chris Maurice Peach’s Revenge I’d like to win
All profiles I already follow, @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot
