Top 10 Halloween Fragrances For 2022 +Part 1 Giveaways

Best Halloween Fragrances

When we think of Halloween most of us in the USA have memories of trick-or-treating, dressing up in costumes and hoping that we would get sweet treats like Reese’s peanut butter cups (and not the unwelcome Necco Wafers or candy corn). Michelyn was allergic to chocolate, cinnamon and nuts until she was 12, which might explain why she loves perfumes with these ingredients. Halloween is also creepy; what’s Halloween without a good haunting by ghosts and witches after dark? Our Halloween fragrances are gourmand, oud and spicy scents which suit the season as the nights grow longer. No tricks here all treats -Michelyn and Steven

Steven Gavrielatos of Redolessence and Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief of CaFleureBon co-curated a Top 10 Halloween Fragrances. We give you Part 1.

Nasomatto Fantomas (Alessandro Gualtieri) is an explosion of tropical fruits with melon resting in the middle of the exotic basket. The darker elements of the scent are revealed almost immediately as wafts of smoke enshroud the fruity aroma. A rubber accord establishes a peculiar aroma that conveys a darkness that is apt for this spooky time of the year. With a name like Fantomas, it’s evident that the cloud of this fragrance will follow you like an apparition out to haunt! -Steven

Parfums de Marly Oriana (Nathalie Lorson and Hamid Merati-Kashan): Whipped Chantilly cream and puffs of marshmallow float above mandarin and bergamot at the top. The heart of Oriana is based on rich, red candied fruits which add a tangy, sparkling, joyful note and soft musk adds depth. Oriana gives new meaning to “nose candy” and is a real treat (no tricks)-Michelyn

Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir (Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier): Noir de Noir. Black of Black. One of Steven and Michelyn’s favorite Halloween fragrances is the ultimate chocolate-like patchouli perfume on the market. While many patchouli-chocolate-rose fragrances tend to be dry, herbal, and even bitter, with notes of rose, saffron, and truffle, Tom Ford Noir de Noir is darkly sweet, chocolaty, and flavorful. -Michelyn

StrangeLove NYC deadofnight (Christophe Laudamiel):  Sustainable oud is used in every Strangelove NYC perfume and each is composed by multi award-winning perfumer extraordinaire, and provocateur Christophe Laudamiel. The brand launched in 2014 at Harrods’ Salon de Parfums with one pure perfume oil- deadofnight. This animalic oud is for those who like their ouds, well, oudy. The signature ingredient is used generously in its composition. With a perfect for Halloween name deadofnight is a potent potion of real oud from Borneo, Damask rose, violet leaves, vanilla balsam, and other natural ingredients as well as unusual synthetics, such as paradisone and wolf wood (used in MUGLER Aura for reference and has a dry woody like vibe).  – Michelyn

Etat Libre D’Orange Like This (Mathilde Bijaoui): How do you celebrate Halloween? Like This. Originally created for Tilda Swinton, Etat Libre D’Orange Like This is as fascinating as the Oscar award winning Scottish actress known for her androgynous appearance and ginger hair. The name is based on a quote by the Sufi poet Rumi (if anyone wants to know what “spirit” is, Or what “God’s fragrance” means, Lean your head toward him or her. Keep your face there close. -Like This. -Rumi

Her collaboration with Founder and Creative Director Etienne de Swardt and perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui won the 2011 Fragrance Foundation Award and is composed with ingredients that Swinton loved. Like This has a bright burst of ginger up top, accompanied by pumpkin (really), vetiver and maple syrup-like immortelle in the base. While Tilda Swinton’s name is no longer on the bottle, she is there in spirit. Like This takes the number one spot on our  Top Ten Halloween Fragrances, Part 1- Michelyn

That review of Oriana is definitely on point… marshmallow float…sounds delicious

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

Oriana is definitely the one I would love to win. Thank you for the opportunity. Who doesn’t want to smell delicious. Steven, maybe if your wife layered Oriana and La Rosee she may like it more

  • I love Halloween!!!! I’ve heard of Oriana but it really intrigued me it was Etat Libre D’Orange Like This!!! It seems perfect for Halloween!!! Thank you for the giveaway and I would be happy to try any of those beauties!!!! I’m from Massachusetts, MA.

  • I would like to win 15 ml of Strangelove NYC deadofnight. I thought that Michelyn’s reviews were very beautiful and helpful. Steven’s video reviews were really professional and also very helpful. I live in Poland, EU. I don’t really have a favorite memory of Halloween.

  • I love haloween and i love how passionate you guys are about vibe description. Felt Like i could smell it in the video. Id Like to win Etat Libre D’Orange Like Ths, im from EU,

  • I find that both Michelyn and Steven have such concise and descriptive ways of presenting these fragrances. One can really trust they are getting a very clear image of what they are about to smell.
I live in the EU and I would like to win either Strangelove deadofnight because of the lovely oud-rose-violet trio (sounds fantastic for Halloween!) or Etat libre Like this (who doesn’t love pumpkin in autumn? And that immortelle note sounds amazing).
    Thanks for the draw!

  • I agree with Michelyn’s thoughts on Noir de Noir – it is a very decadent fragrance. I am surprised at the inclusion of Oriana in this list, the marshmallow note I suppose could make me think of Halloween. I enjoyed Stevens thoughts on Fantomas, it is such a unique fragrance. I would love to win Oriana!
    Thank you from Canada.

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

I love Halloween and spooky season and love this list. I love the kids to candy frequently. I really like how Steven and michelyn both talk about all of the layers of the perfume. I would love to win Oriana. I love Natalie lorsons work. I live in Indiana

  • Diego luzzi says:

I love michelyn reviews and the good boy Stevens, i hope that i win that time! I choose Etat libre d’Orange! I’m from Orlando!!

  • Michelyn!!! Steven!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ LOVE Halloween! LOVE October!!! What a Great list!!! Michelyn’s erudite introductions are always fantastic, along with Steven’s thorough note breakdown! If I were a lucky winner, I would select the StrangeLove NYC bottle of DeadofNight!
Thank you for this Excellent opportunity! USA ❤️

  • From the written portion it was helpful to read the descriptions before watching the video. From the video there was added detail to the verbiage.
For the draw I’d choose the Like This. US

  • The Nasomatto sounds delicious and weird. Thank you for the introduction. Of the ones listed I have only tried Like This ..and that is the perfect Fall scent for sure. For me I wouls probably wear OL Woman for Halloween itself. Would love to win a full bottle of Like This though. Live in US

  • Boris Hernandez says:

Great reviews. Short and easy for newbies.
I hope to be selected on this draw. Of course if Tom Ford fragrance is there, I would take it…. Or Deadofnight which is the least sweetest of the bunch.
    Keep it up.

  • Cristina Percoco says:

What a fun and creative review! The fragrances Steven and Micheline selected are thoughtfully curated for the Halloween season. I would love to be a winner of StrangeloveNYC: Dead of Night. Look forward to Part 2. Thanks for offering this giveaway. Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA.

  • What a coincidence that I am wearing Tom Ford Noir de Noir today,. Both Michelyn and Steven note the chocolatey aspect in this fragrance and I also get that. Black Orchid gets the truffle note well and so does Noir de Noir. My choices for this draw are Etat Libre D’Orange Like This and Parfums de Marly Oriana. I am in US.

  • Steven’s and Michelyn’s Best Halloween Picks are Great. I’m so interested in Oriana PDM. The marshmallow note sounds delicious. Love Halloween one of my favorite holidays. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Jacob Savitt says:

This video and write-up is so amazing! For me, my eyes went straight for the Oriana, and michelyn made the already perfect idea of Halloween marshmallow sound even more fantastic. Steven always wows me with his reviews as he has a sort of passion and debonair quality that for this fun video, made for an excellent combination of cute and sophisticated. Eyes on Oriana for sure! From NJ!

  • Looking fine Steven!! Thanks for pointing out the scams on youtube via Telegram. Someone tried to scam me, I played a long for fun and then told them to get a job. I am now curious about Fantomas after Steven’s description. My local shop carries the line so I can get a whiff. I don’t remember finding one from the line I liked so I dismissed the line, but will try again. Oriana as “Nose Candy”. That’s the one for me!! Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Cesar Abreu says:

My favorites of this list is Dead of Night and Noir de Noir. The first one with a marvelous poetic name and perfectly well blended composition evokes sophistication! And Noir de Noir with this double emphasis in darkness accentuate the mystery of this season! Both gorgeous fragances!

  • Halloween is my favorite holiday and October is my favorite month. There are so many great fragrances that are perfect for Halloween. The fragrance choices included in the article and video are all great for the holiday. Fantomas and deadofnight seem especially appropriate, although I have to admit that I have not tried either one. Oriana is a very sweet fragrance, so I agree with Michelyn that it’s a real treat for Halloween. Noir de Noir is a delicious, dark, chocolaty fragrance. I have to agree with Michelyn that ELDO Like This should take the number one spot for Part 1 of the Best Halloween Fragrances. I love the combination of ginger, immortelle, and pumpkin. I wish more fragrances featured pumpkin as a note, but ELDO has done it very well.

Like Steven, I also think of darker and ghoulish fragrances for Halloween. I agree that Like This does have an aromatic quality to it. It’s really the perfect combination of spicy, sweet, and aromatic notes. It’s a great fragrance for Halloween and autumn in general.

I have many fond Halloween memories, but a couple of my favorites include spending Halloween nights out as a young college student and some memorable trick-or-treating experiences as a kid. I remember trick-or-treating in middle school with my friends, driving from house to house as it was bitter cold outside. We would go back to one of our houses and dump out all of our candy on the floor. Anything chocolate was always my favorite!

I would love the opportunity to win ELDO Like This (first choice) and PDM Oriana (second choice). Thank you, Michelyn and Steven, for the reviews, and thank you to Perfumology, Strangelove NYC, and Parfums de Marly for the giveaways. I am located in the USA.

  • deadofnight is a potent potion of real oud from Borneo, Damask rose, violet leaves, vanilla balsam, and other natural ingredients as well as unusual synthetics, such as paradisone and wolf wood (used in MUGLER Aura for reference and has a dry woody like vibe). – Michelyn. A beautiful description by Michelyn and Steven. If I am lucky to win I would love to win Deadofnight just sounds like a fragrance suited to Halloween. I love Halloween but don’t have any special memories. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • This has a bright burst of ginger up top, accompanied by pumpkin (really), vetiver and maple syrup-like immortelle in the base. While Tilda Swinton’s name is no longer on the bottle, she is there in spirit. Like This takes the number one spot on our Top Ten Halloween Fragrances, Part 1- Michelyn. A wonderful description by Steven and Michelyn this sounds like a real Halloween fragrance. I don’t have any special Halloween memories. If I am successful I would love to win the 100 ml État Libre d’orange Like this. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Love the concept behind strangelove and the fact that the bottle is so small and great for traveling!

  • southirina@gmail.com says:

I love how ‘Like this’ is based on a Rumi’s quote
‘if anyone wants to know what “spirit” is, Or what “God’s fragrance” means, Lean your head toward him or her. Keep your face there close. Like This. ‘ I can even imagine the gesture and the sparks in the eyes and the serenity. The whole poem is amazing.
And Tilda Swinton, ooh! Tilda! She is so cool and ahead of times!
Only by this two reasons I consider Etat Libre D’Orange Like This a masterpiece! I would live to win this bottle ❤️
    Hugs from Romania

  • I was always curious about ELdO’s Like This as I have seen quite a few films with Tilda Swinton, so it would be fun trying a fragrance that was dedicated to her.

    I am in EU. Thanks

  • I really like Lampblack by Bruno Fazzolari and Autumn Vibes by Replica as a fall/Halloween fragrance. I have never had a chance to sample Like This, but based on the review I would like to get my nose on Fantomas. I own full bottles of Pardon and Duro, and a decant of Baraonda. I love all 3 of these, and need to sample more from Nasomatto. My pick though, would 100% be DeadofNight. I looooveeeee this fragrance. It’s been on my wishlist for over a year now. Thanks for the draw!! In the US.

  • Great diverse picks from Michelyn and Steven and a few I’m now, thanks to the wonderful descriptions, really intrigued by. I love Halloween and have lots of wonderful memories of my father taking my brother and I trick or treating and once he even dressed in drag at my suggestion! My pick would be Dead of Night by Strangelove NYC. I’m in NY

  • elena.vykhrystiuk@gmail.com says:

Hi, such a nice selection. “Like this” by ELDO is one of my favourite perfumes ever❤
I would like to participate in a draw for EU as I live in Italy, hope to win 15ml Strangelove NYC perfume.
Thank you for such an interesting article.

  • I’m not a holiday fan, but I enjoyed reading the article and watching the video. These are top picks. I’d like to win Oriana. I’m in New Jersey, USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s description of Fantomas with notes of rubber and melon as ghoulish and ghastly. Also Michelyn’s description of the perfumer Christophe Laudamiel as a provocateur catches my interest. I would love to own one of his Strangelove NYC creations- deadofnight is the one I choose. My favorite memory of Halloween is more a feeling and it comes from the smell right after you blow out the little candle in the jack-o-lantern. The waxy, wet smoke scent gives a feeling of excitement, comfort and anticipation of cooler days and nights. Fall feels like a new beginning instead of the coming of darkness.

  • Michelyn! I feel so bad for your childhood deprivation of chocolate, cinnamon and nuts! Fortunately that evolved and you are able to enjoy those treats now in both food and perfume form. Steve really knows how to dissect a fragrance and tell us how it wears. Great selections for Halloween. I have a decant of Noir de Noir that I cherish. I would love to win a bottle of ELdO Like This. MD, USA.

  • Great video by Steven and such beautiful descriptions by Michelyn. I had no idea that Rumi inspired the name for ETAT LIBRE D’ORANGE LIKE THIS.
I would like to win this USA

  • I love Stephen’s enthusiasm and the evocativeness of Michelyn’s descriptions. If I win, I would like to get deadofnight. From Ireland, EU.

  • I have many early memories of trick-or-treating in condo complexes and raking in as much candy as I possibly could! My sweet tooth has since faded so I’m not super into sweet fragrances but Michelyn’s review of Strangelove deadofnight caught my eye: a potent oud sounds like the perfect fragrance for a cold winter night. Steven’s description of the gorgeous florals and the high quality materials also have me swooning! Deadofnight is definitely my choice if I’m lucky enough to win. I’m in MN, USA.

I wof the best Halloween fragrances (part 1) and where you live. COUNTRY RESTRICTIONS APPLY. Do you have a favorite memory of Halloween?

  • Love the spooky side of Halloween!!! Candy corn is a favorite of mine, lol. So many perfect scents mentioned, thank you. I enjoy green, unisex fragrances this time of year. I enjoyed Steven’s mention of deadofnight, my choice, if lucky. Happy Halloween all. Mich USA

  • I am also a big fan of Halloween, but I haven’t considered a great Halloween scent. I love Oriana and would probably pick that one. Although the Tom Ford sounds wonderful. I wonder what else I have in my collection that might be perfect for Halloween. Maybe Whispers in the Library, which reminds me of that scene in Ghostbusters? Or their by the fireplace? Something to ponder.

  • Halloween is my favorite holiday since I love scary movies. Haven’t gone trick or treating since I was a kid but agree with Michelyn that no one ever wants candy corn.
Steven does a great job of breaking down what the fragrances smell like as always he’s the best YouTube reviewer.
I would like Oriana or Strangelove deadofnight USA

  • wandering_nose says:

I really thoroughly enjoyed reading Michelyn’s intro (which made me look up Necco Wafers and candy corn – the former sound simply atrocious but it was good to learn about the oldest candy in the US) and her informative and witty reviews. It was really interesting to find out Strangelove NYC perfumes only incorporate sustainable oud. I found Steven’s video reviews very useful too as he is conscientious and enthusiastic about his picks. I own and love Noir de Noir and agree it is darkly sweet, chocolaty, and flavorful plus would add that it s extremely seductive. I have always wanted to try ELDO’s Like This and as I have read more about it recently and got even more enticed, I am making it my 100% pick in this fantastic draw. I do not have a favorite Halloween memory as when I was a child in central Europe, we did not celebrate it. Thank you from the EU.

  • Thanks for the recommendations Michelyn and Steven!

Halloween isn’t an event I grew up with. It was only when I started working in the UK that I had my first encounter with Trick-Or-Treaters at the door. I love the pumpkins, the spooky-ness and the many many treats I get to eat without judgement!

I have looked at deadofnight before with interest. While the Rose/Oud combinations have been done to death, it is undoubtedly an amazing duo that still has a special place in my heart. What worries my a bit is ‘Animalic’. It’s a description that is hit or miss with me. I am quite eager to try this!

Steven’s recommendations always end up on my watch/wish lists. He has an uncanny way to describe a fragrance to me so I have a good understanding of what I am getting myself into!

I would love to win Strangelove NYC deadofnight!

    Greetings from the UK!

  • I love Halloween and I have so many good memories from when my mother used to dress me on halloween and I went to collect candies on the streets.
Great selection by both masters Mychelin and Steven, aka Redolessence.
I would love to win Oriana, since it has my favorite notes in the world: mandarin and chantilly cream.
I am a huge Redolessence fan and subscriber and also a devoted reader of Mychelin and the whole cafleurebon team.
    USA here.

  • Gourmand fragrances are made for Halloween, especially the rich, spicy scents of chocolate and cinnamon. No Necco wafer perfume please. Great discussion by Steve on layering possibilities. I would love to win a bottle of PdM Oriana. That is some decadent gourmand goodness. I’m in USA

  • Michelle Bower says:

I love that too his time of year is surrounded by a certain energy. It’s like an ancient feeling that is almost primal. All these perfumes sound incredible and intriguing. The most appealing to my nature is the Oriana by Parfum de Marly. Dead of night also sounds appealing. Thanks for all these giveaways and articles. They are very informative. Thanks to Steven for doing his part in putting together these video collaborations.

  • Running through the neighborhood in brisk weather with the scent of burning wood from the chimneys, attempting to reach the houses giving out the best candy is one of my favorite Halloween memories. Steven and Michelyn deliver a complete excellent review. The perfect tag team for fragrance reviews. Enjoyed learning their favorite picks for this spooky holiday. Would love to win Oriana by PDM or ELDO Like This. Thank you for the opportunity. TX USA

  • Steven Binkowitz says:

I would love to enter the giveaway for Parfums De Marley Oriana. It sounds delightful with the whipped cream and candy fruit. I live in Houston Texas, and I’m a big fan of PDM. Although I have never smelled this one. Thanks for another great article and giveaway!

  • Thank you for the great Halloween list. I like how you included a range of styles, including a tropical fruit perfume and gnarly ouds.

Michelyn introduced me to deadofnight in an earlier list, and I’m really intrigued by that fragrance’s unusual ingredients, and I’ve enjoyed many of the Christophe Laudamiel fragrances I’ve tried in the past. Etat Libre D’Orange Like This also caught my attention; Tilda Swinton is a treasure and I’d expect a fragrance inspired by her preferences to be just as striking and poised (though pumpkin in an unexpected note). Thanks for highlighting this one Michelyn.

I agree with Stephen in his video—now is the time for dark, smoky, resinous (ghastly, ghoulish!) scents. I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of Sarah Horowitz’s Tapestry, which I heard about via CaFleureBon. I don’t typically enjoy sweeter, confectionery, or chocolate fragrances, but Steven rightly pointed out that those like Noir de Noir can withstand this cooler, harsher weather, and they do fit the season. Also, Steven raved about Fantomas and its spooky aspects; I don’t know what to make of the notes list, but I’m really intrigued based on your favorable review.

I’m in the USA. I’d love to win the 15 ml of Strangelove NYC deadofnight. Thanks!

  • Michelyn, I’ll take your reject Necco wafters and candy corn, which happen to be two of my favorites. Thanks to you and Steven both for adding more “to test” list in true spooky season fashion.

Like This is a perfect autumnal perfume to experience. I found it to be quite transitional and took me through some of my favorite fall memories growing up.

Thank you so much for holding this giveaway! I would absolutely LOVE to win Oriana, which I’ve tried and thoroughly enjoyed.

    I live in Texas, USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Steven’s video review and Michelyn’s written review of the Top Halloween Fragrances for 2022. Fantomas sounds super unique with the smoke and rubber accord blending with the fruity and melon accord where Steven alludes to the aromatic facets he detects in the fragrance as well. I also agree with Steven about Oriana that is marketed as a women’s fragrance but with the Vanilla and Marshmallow accord if you are into sweeter gourmand styled fragrances it’s really nice. I also loved learning about Like This which has a super unique pumpkin note along with another note I really enjoy Immortelle. I loved how Michelyn gave the detailed backstory on the perfumers and creative directors vison for Like This. If I win I would choose Etat Libre D’Orange Like This. I am from the USA.

  • I appreciate Steven’s reviews and descriptions, he dives deeper in when describing blends, better than many others. Michelyn always has a little history and keeps you curious about the house.
    I would love the Oriana!

  • “When we think of Halloween most of us in the USA have memories of trick-or-treating, dressing up in costumes and hoping that we would get sweet treats like Reese’s peanut butter cups (and not the unwelcome Necco Wafers or candy corn)”

    🙂
As a Pastry Chef everything from candy’s, jams , cakes ,desserts in made by me, including Peanut Butter Cups.

“Michelyn was allergic to chocolate, cinnamon and nuts until she was 12, which might explain why she loves perfumes with these ingredients.”

Wow , such a turnaround of events

☆ Nasomatto Fantomas . I love Pardon, but “tropical fruits with melon in the middle of the exotic basket” sounds really good
☆ Parfums de Marly became a top notch brand in such a short period of time , one of the best out there, to my taste of course.
Oriana reminds me of making, and later eating Black Currant Mousse Sheet Cake , With Whipped Cream Topping And Non-Candied Fresh Berries on top .
☆ Tom Ford Noir de Noir i finally tried 2 weeks ago . Dark and slightly bitter chocolate patchouli, with lots of saffron, and truffle accord. It smells really nice, I even got the 100ml bottle, but personally I wouldn’t call it “Ultimate chocolate-like patchouli on the market”
☆ StrangeLove NYC deadofnight, Meltmyheart smells fantastic fragrance, but deadofnight is too funky for me
☆ Etat Libre d’Orange Like This to me is ginger and almonds fragrance, rather than pumpkin pie with maple syrup. I see it’s sweeter on Michelyn and Steven
I’ll be happy to win Parfums de Marly Oriana
My favorite memory of Halloween is when my mentor, the great Pierre Hermè congratulated me for my improvised Pumpkin Pana Cota , with Rum and fresh Mint tarts , and told me m future as Pastry Chef is bright. As a trainee is meant the world for me.
Appreciate the culinary reference Michelyn made , both of your reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Claumarchini says:

Thank you so much for the great and unconventional choices, the selection sounds really amazing! I was looking for the perfect scents for this time of the year so I have read the article and watched Steven’s review with great pleasure. I actually have a sample of Like this and I absolutely adored it when I tried it so thank you for reminding me of it: will wear it tomorrow at work for sure!! And I would love to be the lucky winner of Like this of course!!!
Here in Italy Halloween has started to be celebrated not so many years ago, for us Catholics you know there is the “day of the dead” on the first of November which we do celebrate (my family would celebrate the 31st because it was my dad’s birthday, he was actually very proud that he was born on Halloween!), but I always decorate the house (this year I even bought spooky toilet paper, you don’t wanna hear what my husband told me, LOL!) and I but sweets hoping to have children passing by and ask for trick or treat…but they never come…maybe I should lure them inside with puffs of Oriana for example?? Greetings from Milan

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the great review Steven and Michelyn.

I loved reading the review for deadofnight – it’s such a beautiful use of agarwood and different florals. I also love the work that Laudmiel has been doing with this brand.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Instead of Reesie’s peanut butter, cups my favorite candy to get on Halloween was Mars bars which are very hard to find anymore. I love the fall and enjoy any fragrance that can remind me of falls/Halloween’s past. Reading and watching the reviews made me reminisce of being engaged trick or treating. Such fun times. Thanks for that and the draw. It’s between parfum de marly and etat liber de orange. Either works. Thanks.

  • Shibuichi2000 says:

I wish I’d have memories of Halloween, but how could I, since I am european :).
it would’ve probably been easier to associate a fragrance to the holiday, but both Michelyn’s and Steven’s picks will do.
I’d like to win Like This, since I really, really love it.
    I’m in Europe.

  • Regis Monkton says:

My favorite memory of Halloween is getting the free candy, especially my favorite chocolate bars. I haven’t tried any of these fragrances so I appreciated Michelyn’s insight into them and I appreciated Stephen’s description of them. I’d like to be entered for the ELDO fragrance. I live in the U.S.A.

  • IvanVelikov says:

My favorite memory of Halloween ? Going out with my 6 years old niece trick-or-treating
Nasomatto Fantomas. To be honest I was not aware of Fantomas existence. Fruity and leathery
Noir de Noir Tom Ford is one of the first expensive fragrances that I bought.
Etat Libre d’Orange Like This backstory is catchy, and I like Tilda Swinton , The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a classic movie everyone should see.
Strangelove NYC deadofnight. Animalic fragrances are not something I enjoy
Parfums de Marly Oriana . Being in tailoring business, I would wear Oriana while working with clients at the shop. It is happy and cheerful moderately sweet floral , but also professional type of fragrance , it’s not overly sweet.
Almost all my orange blossom based , but also musky fragrances, I wear with a suit at the shop , sweetness and whipped cream accord are tickling my fancy even more
    I’d like to win Oriana
Thank you Michelyn, Steven and all the brands
    USA

  • Happy Halloween! Def brings out my sweet tooth, so I would choose Oriana! Love Steven’s description of marshmallow accord and Michelyn’s description of therich, red candied fruits

  • Thank you Michelyn for the more detailed look on Tilda Swinton Like This , fragrance i love.
The best Halloween fragrances Part 1 are:
Nasomatto Fantomas is unique fragrance, it smells like Sangria with melon, and other tropical fruits and some smoke added. Unlike Steven, I don’t smell leather.
Tom Ford Noir de Noir, simply gorgeous. I always wear it on New Years Eve
Parfums de Marly Oriana is bright and fizzy playful fragrance , with citruses on top , marshmallows and whipped cream base, just WOW to “nose candy” term Michelyn invented.
Etat Libre d’Orange Like This, with or without Tilda Swinton is my favorite fragrance from the house. I almost finished my second bottle, and I will buy third one.
Love both of my Delina bottles , I mean the regular one , and the Exclusif . Winning Oriana would be fantastic
Every Halloween brings new experiences, and happy memories. Last year I had to cut a few pumpkins and do my best trying to transform the pumpkins into full face Halloween masks
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • “Michelyn was allergic to chocolate, cinnamon and nuts until she was 12, which might explain why she loves perfumes with these ingredients”

I had allergies as a kid , to chocolate included. As a kid not being able to eat even a small candy bar is a nightmare, at least to me it was.
Nasomatto I know for the famous Black Afgano , Fantomas is different, with rubber and melon
Parfums de Marly Oriana is obviously a transitional weather fragrance , orange blossom, marshmallow , fruits and some musk nuances . It sunds super good , and cozy , especially for the Fall .
Tom Ford Noir de Noir is so seductive and well blended
Etat Libre d’Orange= Experimentum Crucis, fragrance I can’t get enough of. Like This is interesting because of the pumpkin note , and I also like learning how the name is based on a quote Rumi
I’d love to win Parfums de Marly Oriana
The best Halloween memory ever, is the day my husband proposed to me 8 years ago on Halloween
    Thanks for the draw

Yesss, deadofnight would be the perfect Halloween fragrance – all goes, right? The other one I really like is Noir de Noir, that one has been on my wishlist for ages but it somehow keeps getting pushed back. Thanks for the reviews! Greetings from Riga, Latvia.

Wonderful article Michelyn and Steven! What i appreciated about Michelyn’s reviews is learning that StrangeLove NYC deadofnight features the “eerie” combination of real and sustainable oud and unusual synthetics such as paradisone and wolf wood. What i enjoyed about Steven’s video reviews is how he describes Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir as a combination of chocolate – very appropriate for Halloween! – and a darkness so dark it has to be mentioned in the name of the fragrance twice that can withstand the chilly weather of autumn and winter.

if I were to win I would choose the StrangeLove NYC deadofnight. Oriana would be my 2nd choice and Etat Libre D’Orange Like This would be my 3rd. I live in the US. My favorite Halloween memory is a charity gala I once attended with Bette Midler dressed as her iconic character in Hocus Pocus!

    Also.
The article is well written and descriptions of the scents help one really pick out what they might like if they’re not already familiar w a scent.
The video is great to explain the difference between what to wear in diff weather ..crisp air changes notes and how they carry…I love in the US ..I’m so obsessed w wanting to try Like this because of the video ..but my original choice was the Oriana as I said in my other comment (u can delete that one)..
My fav Halloween memory is pumpkin patches and apples picking w my son ..
