THAMEEN LONDON Centre Stage is the 6th fragrance in the Britologne collection and a follow up to last year’s Bravi. Before we listen to Steven’s review, THAMEEN London Creative Director Christopher Chong kindly shares insights into the creative process of Centre Stage.

“I’m extremely lucky to be able to collaborate with Bruno and to have him as a friend.  Most of our works happen organically while we are hanging out. He’s a super talented perfumer with a very unique style that I haven’t seen before. Centre Stage is actually a continuation of the Bravi journey. We want to explore the nuances with a sexy cabaret and burlesque tease inspired by the Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club musical that we went to see together in London. Bruno layers this 1920s opulent and sensual story with elements from the film Babylon. We decided to focus on Orange Flower as our key ingredient in which we build related opulent and sexy elements around it to give a warm and round projection. Centre Stage is designed to be worn together with Bravi and Fanfare if you are feeling playful, naughty and sinful, but only if you dare and bold enough to take the centre stage.“-Christopher Chong, Artistic Director.

I really want to try it and it has some of my favorite notes in there and I feel like it’s a very versatile fragrance.

  • Gladys rivera says:

Fantastic! 5 of my ten favorite notes in one olfactory pyramid. This will be my lucky charm!

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

Wow, the description of this fragrance in the article, and Steven’s review, has me wanting to add this in collection.. because I definitely want to be sexy and flirty. Thanks for the opportunity. I live in Orlando Florida, USA

  • Thanks for this review and the giveaway! I love orange blossom, and I’m excited to see a fragrance that emphasizes the “opulent and sexy elements” side of the note—I am excited to experience how the orris contributes! And thrilled to see cardamom popping up more and more as a note. I think smelling like a belong in a jazz cabaret club in the 20s would really suit me.

  • I liked that Centre Stage is designed to be worn together with Bravi and Fanfare. I love Fanfare! Steven mentioned a beautiful orange blossom note and a rich opening. Sounds fabulous! Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. MI USA

  • For me, Chong talks about Centre Stage being inspired the sensual nature of cabaret and burlesque tease from the Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club musical. Its sexiness in a fragrance format. Steve view also asserts that nostalgia for the roaring 20s, flappers, living it up at a speakeasy. This fragrance to them embodies an era that is iconic. The perfume itself being orange blossom forward, beautiful, complex scent that to him is transformative, floral bouquet with a subtle leather accord done well–and like all their fragrance, Center Stage, has a depth, richness and fullness to it.

I love a good layering duo and now a trio according to Christopher, suggesting to combine Centre Stage with Bravi and Fanfare, a nuclear combo. The inspiration and where they held the launch event adds up to the name of the fragrance as it all revolves around the wearer taking centre stage in a 1920s cabaret lounge. Thameen is really taking on new adventures since Christopher Chong became the creative director. I’m glad Steven mentioned the animatic accord is not rough at all and it gives it more of a leathery touch to the fragrance. He also mentioned it opens up with a richness and fullness that really propels you to be the center of attention. An orange blossom lover’s dream. I’m located in the USA.

  • KATHERINE CONCEPCION says:

Este nuevo lanzamiento de la línea Thaameen London Centre Stage suena como el sueño de toda mujer. Estoy segura que sería una fragancia perfecta también para una novia como la asignatura perfecta . Me gustaría oler este hermoso bouquet de flores

  • Chris Mugavero says:

This really resonates with me deeply. This scent being based off the 1920s Cabaret lounge and having played the “Emcee” or Master of Ceremonies in the musical Cabaret in High School it really brought me back to my method acting for that role just via the descriptive review and the note breakdown on paper. Steven knocks it out of the park as always!

  • Just WOW! Christopher Chong’s insights into THAMEEN LONDON Centre Stage emphasize its inspiration from the 1920s cabaret scene and the film Babylon, with a focus on Orange Flower as the key ingredient. I love how Steven highlights the blend of top notes like Petitgrain and Cardamom, and the base’s animalic accord, calling it a daring, provocative scent. Combining Centre Stage with Bravi and Fanfare adds a playful, tantalizing edge—perfect for those bold enough to stand out (Meee ‍♂️)

  • Thameen’s Britologne collection is so elegant and classy, though they do flirt with some naughty undertones. Centre Stage seems to fall right in line with the rest. I love how Chong and Jovanovic based it on the play they watched together. I like the idea of a burlesque inspired scent. Orange flower is often associated with a fresh and even soapy profile, but in heavier doses it has an undeniably carnal current that runs through it, and my hope is that it is highlighted in this fragrance. Steven spoke highly of the fragrance’s success in capturing the golden age of jazz clubs. He also spoke of the leather and balsamic nuances that unfold in the dry down, which sound so rich and full. I’d love to try this one. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Love how Christopher and Bruno’s relationship had led them to work together organically. I don’t have anything by Thameen but have tried Fan Fare and I know that this will be a quality fragrance.

Steven mentions how Centre Stage is transformative & a transporting fragrance. A creamy Iris and a sweet Orange Blossom sounds real nice. Also like that he mentioned spice which is what I love in fragrances especially this time of year. I’m glad the anamalic accord isn’t too funky or barnyardy.

  • The notes sound like a very good combination and the concept is very interesting. From California, USA

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

I just love that cabaret was the inspiration behind this fragrance. As a lover of burlesque, I can take the notes in mind and imagine wearing this scent to a venue. Beautiful! I think Steven described this perfume perfectly and Thameen does make amazing fragrances. I live in Oregon and am a Redolessence subscriber

  • The intro told me that Centre Stage is the 6th fragrance in the Britologne collection and a follow up to last year’s Bravi. The video described the notes, especially the orange blossom aspect. US

  • Christopher Chong’s inspiration behind Thameen London Centre Stage really grabbed my attention, especially the whole 1920s cabaret vibe. I love how the Orange Flower note plays such a big role, giving the scent this bold, sensual feel. Steven’s review also made it sound like a fragrance that’s daring but super wearable. Overall, it seems like a fragrance that makes you feel bold and confident!

  • Christopher has cool style! I wear similar glasses; they’re a fun shape. I like how Steven describes the floral notes. I’m a big orange blossom fan and the way he described the iris as starchy was very appealing to me.

  • Centre Stage sounds like pure whimsy to me. I love that it is born of a friendship between Christopher Chong and Bruno Jovanovic. That is has a mischievous spirit makes it even more compelling. Mr. Chong really captures it when he says, ” Centre Stage is designed to be worn together with Bravi and Fanfare if you are feeling playful, naughty and sinful, but only if you dare and bold enough to take the centre stage.“

Take that powerful introduction and combine it with Steven Gavrielatos’s wonderful review now I have to buy a sample. To pay credit to Steven, I am not a floral scents person but his description of the magic of the roaring twenties and the complex interplay between the orange blossom leather and other dry down ingredients makes Centre Stage a must have.

  • Thomas Anthony says:

Intrigued by the notes and it was recommended to me by a Neiman’s in Las Vegas. I’m going to blind buy based on the reviewers interpretation.

  • Sonds like another stunning composition from Thameen! Really enjoyed your video, Steven.
    Cheers!

  • Oooh I love an ode to orange blossom and the roaring 20s! And so many of my favorite notes are in this! I’m truly looking forward to trying this one. I feel the lavender will give a lil spice! I am in California. Thank you for the give away!

  • I like that Centre Stage is part of a trio (along with Bravi and Fanfare) that can be worn independently or together as an homage to early 20th century Cabaret. Centre Stage is a lovely meditation on orange flower with jasmine, styrax and ambery woods. Steven mentions the leather like smoothness of the animalic accord. I’m in MD, USA

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

I love Stevens reviews. He always makes sure to include scent notes but also performance! This sounds awesome. 1920s opulence sound delightful. I’d like to win and live in Indiana.

  • I’m s big fan of Thameen fragrances.
Love how Centre Stage is designed to be worn together with Bravi and Fanfare. I love Fanfare! Steven’s review on the notes a beautiful orange blossom note and a rich opening. I love Fanfare and think this would be a great combo. Thanks you for this chance USA

  • I do love orange blossom, ava based on Steven’s review I need this one. All my ob perfumes i wear in the summer, so I can get behind Centre Stage for an orange blossom the rest of the year…And I love Seville a l’aube, I have a small travel size that I just pulled out to wear. I love the inspiration of the Kit Kat Club, and M. Chong’s friendship with M. Jovanovic. Thank you for the lovely reviews and the draw! I’m in the us.

  • I love an orange blossom fragrance, and this one sounds like an interesting one from Steven’s description. I have usually smelled it in more bright / delicate / floral arrangements so I’m curious to smell it used in a different application. I also loved Chris mentioning that the scent was built to be layered with other scents to give it even more nuance.

  • hspoffordiii says:

I’m really looking forward to trying this one. I’m a big fan of both Fanfare and Bravi and I really appreciate what Christopher Chong is doing at at Thameen. I’ve been waiting for this review to be published because I saw Steven’s Instagram coverage of the Centre Stage launch in New York–and I’m happy to hear that it sounds great. I live in the USA.

  • Orange flower has been a supporting role in many perfumes I love, seeing this note finally take the center stage it deserves (and in such a dramatic fashion!) is far past its time. Hope it captures the nostalgia of the era it’s trying to evoke as well as Steven says it does, what a treat it would be to be transported to that rollicking time.

  • I like how Christopher Chong together with Bruno Jovanovic made Centre Stage , honoring British 1920s cabaret and burlesque traditions , and also paying homage to Kit Kat musical and Babylon movie.
In my Pastry Chef mind after watching Steven’s take on Centre Stage , and reading the introduction I imagined making Orange Blossom and Cardamom Cake and sharing it with Christopher Chong and Bruno Jovanovic in the antrakt of their favorite spectacle in London , while all of us sitting on a leather sofa with iris bouquet is right next to us , the mixture is how I imagined Centre Stage.
Elegant fragrance i believe, confirmed by Steven himself. Bravi and Insignia are my favorite Thameen London fragrances.
Appreciate the review, Christopher Chong introduction , and the giveaway campaign

  • hspoffordiii says:

Adding to my previous comment–I realize I didn’t address the prompt. I find it pretty intriguing that Chong used the film Babylon as a point of inspiration for the fragrance. As a general concept, this seems pretty similar to what Chong used as the brief for Amouage Portrayal Woman, but I suppose this provides a point of departure. Regarding Steven’s review, I always appreciate his takes on fragrances and I very much appreciate that he doesn’t advocate for blind buying a fragrance that will set you back 100s of dollars (even though I’m not always great about following that advice myself).

  • I like how Christopher Chong said that Center Stage is a continuation of Bravi and it can even be worn together (if you dare), that last part made me smile. I love Bravi and Steven put it in the first place of the most unforgettable perfumes and I have to agree. As for the Center Stage Steven said that if you love Orange Blossom accord you will love this perfume and I can’t wait to try it. It sounds truly amazing.
    I live in USA

  • Interesting that Chong recommends layering Center Stage with Bravi and Fanfare—his suggestion makes me curious about how the compositions interact and what notes or accords they share. Steven clarified in his review that the animalic notes are a gentle part to the leather accord—not “rough and tumble”—and highlighted the richness of the floral bouquet in the heart. This might be the sample to try to determine if I enjoy orange blossom. Very enthusiastic review—I’d love to try this.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Mark Keating says:

Scents have an ability to take you to a special place in your mind. Whether you have experienced it before or it may be a dream of what an experience may be. Steven’s “transformative “ comment resonated with me. I use my fragrance collection to set my tempo for the day.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

I own several Thameen creations. Each of which I find beautifully unique and very wearable. Top notch quality for sure. This latest fragrance has captured my undivided attention with its notes and inspiration. Both my wife and I are fans of orange blossom and iris. Looking forward to getting our nose on this one 🙂

  • The only Thameen London I’ve smelled is Carved Oud , and it’s just great, one of the best in the genre. It’s so popular for a reason
Of course I know Christopher Chong for his previous work with Amouage , and Bruno Jovanovic for his work with Masque Milano, and Frédéric Malle. Both are cabaret and burlesque aficionados i see , with affinity for trust , friendship and loyalty.
Centre Stage feels so upscale and refined. I like the white flowers , cardamom and iris cozy and inviting embrace, and the resinous dry down.
Judging by Christopher Chong previous work, his level of respect for Bruno Jovanovic creativity, and Steven YouTube review , sure enough Centre Stage is special , I’m thrilled
    Thanks for the draw

Quite a surprise to learn about a fragrance inspired by Christopher Chong and Bruno Jovanovic fondness for burlesque, musicals and a movie like Babylon , that’s how Centre Stage was created.
Thameen London i usually relate to Royalties , and maybe because I’m a tailor, the way they dress.
In Centre Stage i like all the floral nuances , the iris and I’m curious about the styrax accord. Well polished and elegant creation by Bruno Jovanovic.I’m expecting craftsmanship , and a classy aroma. The balance between the resins , spicy and floral aspects i find stylish.
My favorite Thameen fragrance is Carved Oud
Thank you Steven , Christopher Chong,Bruno Jovanovic , Twisted Lily

  • Honestly I’ve waited way too long to discover Thameen London fragrances , my younger cousin bought sample set, and the extra samples from Twisted Lily, and after trying all on skin I’ll admit I’m impressed
Thanks to Steven and Christopher Chong i know Centre Stage is a stunning creation , quite complex too. Starts with cardamom , then the jasmine and orange blossom , leather and iris kicks in , regal aroma , Bruno Jovanovic made a symbol of elegance suited for the “Roaring 20s” . Like Christopher Chong said it himself , a fragrance for those who dare to take the central stage, a fragrance that will shine on my skin 🙂
Even though I’m a huge Amouage fan , I’m more than happy to know that Christopher Chong is honoring Thameen heritage , while developing the brand according to his personal views , and not trying to turn Thameen into something like Amouage II .
Royal Sapphire i now own , my favorite Thameen London fragrance
Cheers with Remy Martin XO Gold limited edition, and thank you for the opportunity

  • One of the main reasons why Centre Stage is so appealing to me , is because of Christopher Chong coming to Thameen, and changing the brand with his creative genius. Let’s be real here, who else decides to make a fragrance based on his love for musicals , cabaret and burlesque? Non other than Christopher Chong and Bruno Jovanivic , no wonder they click so well with each other.
The fragrance falls into the elegant floral , and leather category, and the cardamom and iris are making it more suave . I’m curious about the playful nature of Centre Stage too
Bohemian Infusion and Carved Oud are the two Thameen London fragrances I like the most
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • I’m familiar with not all but most of Thameen London fragrances, and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1. Nassak / Carved Oud
    2. Amber Room/Bravi
    3. Cullinan Diamond
Nassak , Amber Room and Bravi are in my possession

“ super talented perfumer with a very unique style that I haven’t seen before”

I’m not into cabaret or a burlesque fan , I was also not aware of the Kit Kat Club musical ,but i like the way Christopher Chong spoke of Bruno Jovanivic , praising him and even calling him a friend.
The look on Steven’s face also says a lot, Centre Stage is posh and slightly daring fragrance with white floral, leathery, spicy, and slightly sweet undertones . I’m definitely intrigued by such sophisticated fragrances.
    All profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Steven’s review of Thameen London Fanfare featuring orange blossom and honey which gives off a sexy, risque, playful, and naughty 1920s feel to it. I learned that Christopher Chong’s was very excited to learn how excited he was to work with perfumer Bruno Jovanovic. It’s a sequel to last year’s release Bravi and they wanted to explore the nuances with a sexy cabaret and burlesque tease inspired by the Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club musical that we went to see together in London. Bruno layers this 1920s opulent and sensual story with elements from the film Babylon. It sounds very interesting. I am from the USA.
