Thameen London Bravi is the third and final cologne elixir in Thameen London’s Covent Garden from the Britologne series. It is a reimaging of Night Blooming Cereus, aka the Queen of the Night flower. Before we listen to Steven’s review, Thameen Creative Director Christopher Chong shares insights into the creative process of Bravi.

“I missed going to the opera with my friends during the pandemic. As soon as restrictions were lifted, I organised box seats for the opening of a new production, so I could reunite with friends who shared the same passion. It also happened by chance that a good friend of mine was the diva of the opera. Perfumer Bruno Jovanovic, whom I haven’t seen for some time, was amongst the invited. After the performance, I mentioned to Bruno that it would be wonderful to mark the occasion with a fragrance to remember humane attributes we take for granted – trust, friendship, and loyalty.”-Christopher Chong, Artistic Director.

For me this is one of the most elegant fragrances I have smelled this year. And, I plan on wearing it Saturday evening to dinner. If you are like me and shy away from BIG white florals, you should consider giving this genderless cologne elixir a try. 9 hours longevity and moderate sillage. Bravo to Christopher and Bruno. -Michelyn

I love Thameen! I like how a night at the opera basically conjured up this fragrance that evokes trust and friendship. The walnut milk accord is an interesting addition here and Steven mentioned it doesn’t really make it gourmand-ish so I’m interested to know what it smells like. This sounds like a home run to me and something new in the Thameen catalog as well, no other fragrance smells like it. I believe it does sound very versatile based on the notes. Cheers from NJ, USA.

  • gladys catalina rivera marietti says:

Such an interesting opening of white flowers and honey and a very complex and inviting development.

  • I love that Christopher wanted to create a fragrance based on friendship and the aspects of it that we take for granted. Using scent to remind us of those elements is an exceptionally creative way to keep us grounded in what’s important. As for the fragrance itself, the walnut milk accord has piqued my interest, as I imagine it would combine beautifully with the tobacco, honey, and saffron. Steven said the addition of that accord gives it a slightly sweet gourmand facet that makes it irresistible. He also mentioned it being upbeat and playful, which just sounds fun. I’d love to give it a try. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • It seems very interesting the notes are usually and seem to be a great mixture. I have bohemian infusion and I love it . Thameen London makes a very high quality product and I know it’s an amazing fragrance can’t wait to smell it .Thanks so much for sharing

  • ajbellarosa says:

I’m a huge fan of Thameen as a house. I already own Carved Out and Fanfare and I really want to get my nose on Bravi. Unbelievable performance on these scents!

  • BeckaBella3 says:

Steve saying “It’s Multifaceted” has me personally intrigued. Love that it’s seems to be versatile and classy all year round type of fragrance…an added plus is note of Tuberose which if it’s done right is one of my favorite white florals to smell and wear. Greetings from California, USA.

  • What appealed to me about Steven’s review is the mention of walnut milk which I’ve never heard of in a fragrance, very interesting. Also it’s versatility during the cold and warmer months as well as being able to use it dressed down or during formal occasions. What I learned from Christopher Chong’s introduction is how he organized box seats for the opening of a new production so he could reunite with friends who shared the same passion.
Thank you for the opportunity. From New York, USA.

  • Tiffany Jones says:

This sounds like an amazing fragrance and I can’t wait to get my nose on it. Vanilla, honey and tobacco with tuberose. Yes please. Sounds like heaven in a bottle.

  • Steven makes this sound universally appropriate for us all! Sounds like a must-try. The idea that it is a fragrance representing trust, friendship and loyalty makes it even more lovely to think of these qualities as universal. We sure need more of all three in this world.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

As one who owns several Thameen fragrances, Steven caught my attention when he described this latest creation as, “Multifaceted and does things that the other fragrances within the Thameen London catalog have not done..”
Christopher Chong’s inspiration of trust, friendship, and loyalty are attributes most, if not all of us treasure. Interesting concept for a fragrance. Looking forward to this one.

  • Stas Bryant says:

I love his introduction to produce a fragrance to capture a meaningful memory. Steven always gives top notch reviews with pure class. I have become extremely open to floral fragrances and just so happened to be researching what other people feel to be good quality white floral fragrances. Having paired with the lactonic base notes a tobacco it should be incredible especially here in Florida.

  • This is described as a lush and warm fragrance that’s appealing for wear year round and is a unique milky and nutty scent accented with ginger. Steve and Chris described the scent as being an elegant, unisex and versatile scent for all seasons. It seems very interesting and unique. I’m in the USA.

  • AttentionSpann says:

Thameen London Bravi offers a captivating blend of notes. The combination of honey and vanilla tuberose creates a dense and enticing aroma that is sure to capture attention. The addition of creamy walnut milk adds a unique and intriguing element to the fragrance that I cannot wait to get my nose on.
Thameen London Bravi is an excellent choice for those seeking a fragrance that exudes sophistication while still maintaining a vibrant allure. Per Steven I will be ordering a sample of this fragrance if I don’t win. Thank you

  • Thameen London Bravi star notes seem to be vanilla and honey and it is appropriate for both casual and formal wear. It has a lactonic quality and tuberose also makes a grand appearance in the composition. I am in US.

  • Hello from Florida, and thank you to Steven, Christopher, and Michelyn for sharing your thoughts on Bravi Cologne Elixir!

I’m so intrigued by this new release from Thameen — I’ve never seen walnut milk as a note before. I love the idea of a perfume inspired by the undeniable elegance of a night at the opera and the night blooming cereus, so I’d absolutely love to give Bravi a try!

  • Melvin Battle says:

I didn’t realize Bravi carries the ever growing Elixir moniker. I am intrigued to compare its honey-tobacco combination with that of Guetlain’s. It sounds very interesting.

  • Trust, friendship, and loyalty; there are fragrances that can definitely put me in mind of that (interestingly enough Fox in the Flowerbed by Imaginary Authors is one that does it for me) and I can only imagine what accords would bring that to mind in this new fragrance. I’m sure Charles and I would have different understandings of what scents would bring that to mind.

And based on Steven’s review, it would be interesting to see how a thick floral tuberose mixed with a creamy walnut milk accord would come off. I can’t help but think “lactonic” but that doesn’t seem to be what he’s going for in his review. Interesting.

Thameen can really nail down mixes that you wouldn’t expect so my curiosity is piqued. Thank you, from Indianapolis IN

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Interesting how Christopher Chong wanted to create a fragrance based on a night out with friends. The theme being trust, friendship & loyalty.

Steve did a great job describing this fragrance and the notes in it. He says it unique. Sounds like something I would like to get my nose on especially with that Walnut Milk Accord.

    Los Angeles Ca. USA

  • Just from reading the notes the words sharp, sweet, and smooth shout to me. It being Thameem I know this is serious business and one to wear when wanting to make an impression. Whether the first time or a rekindling of loved one this one was made to work from what I’ve read. It sounds as if Mr Chong composed this for that very purpose. I expect nothing but class and elegance from this. Steven always brings a well put together and positive review when it comes to the art. No gimmicks along with an easy going and whole hearted approach is what we as fans have grown accustom to. I’d love to win Bravi, from Jacksonville NC

  • Loving the new range from Christopher Chong taking inspiration from London and the royal opera. Intrigued by Steven’s breakdown of the notes and can’t wait to try. NY, USA

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

Very neat that this perfume came together over the opera. I love Stevens reviews because he always talk about performance and longevity. I’d like to win this and live in Indiana.

  • I think it’s amazing that Christopher wanted to create a fragrance based on friendship and how he captured a moment thats so special to him. Trust, Friendship, Loyalty. Very intriguing. Very interested on the walnut milk accord that steven mentions. Always love stevens review and been dying to try this house! I live in the US.

  • Interesting to hear Christopher Chong’s inspiration of trust, friendship, and loyalty. The coziness of the vanilla and tobacco elements of this fragrance really seem to reflect that. I also love Steven’s review of the density of the tuberose as I love a fragrance with a strong tuberose note. The walnut milk note is intriguing as well. I would love a chance to win a bottle of Bravi and try the fragrance for myself! I’m in MN, USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s review and the article, especially the notes mentioned: walnut milk and tuberose in Bravi. The whiskey
fig and bitter orange notes in Insignia sound perfect. I enjoyed the mention of the Night Blooming Cereus. It’s on my bucket list to see and sniff it’s intoxicating aroma. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. Mich USA

  • johnmadison says:

Thank you for the lovely video review, Steven.
As always your reviews are insightful and engaging. Yes, that note of walnut milk does sound very interesting, but with that honey, saffron and bitter orange I imagine this to be beautifully blended, as all Thameen fragrances are.
That sticky sweet opening with honey and dense tuberose sounds heavenly…Mmm! And eventually having vanilla come in play wow, what a creamy dream. You’re right Steven, this gourmand really seems irresistible indeed!
Great longevity, and I like the versatility of this being wearable in warmer and cooler months.
I love how Christopher Chong created this with the intention to represent the most precious things in life…trust, loyalty, and friendship.

If you are like me and shy away from BIG white florals, you should consider giving this genderless cologne elixir a try. 9 hours longevity and moderate sillage. Bravo to Christopher and Bruno. -Michelyn

Good point, I don’t exactly shy away from BIG white flowers, but I’m definitely careful especially if it’s jasmine and/or tuberose . I like white flowers accords if they are on the clean and creamy side, not when the aroma is going into carnal and indolic directions.
Maybe the idea behind the Britologne series was to be more classy, and paying homage to different time periods , at least Fanfare and Bohemian Infusion, but Bravi seems classy , suitable for a gala in the best Opera’s in the world , and at the same time Michelyn is wearing it to dinner in a high end restaurant.
I’m interested in what Bruno Jovanovic composed for Thameen, creamy floral with honey, with cozy milky accords.
If I have to rate my favorite Thameen London fragrances:
    1. Nassak / Carved Oud , both I own
    2. Amber Room
    3. Cullinan Diamond

  • I loved other perfumes Bruno Jovanovic has created and a scent created with a feeling in mind, always piques my interest. The Walnut-nut milk note combined with saffron, honey and honey sounds interesting. I would love to see how well they play together. California.

  • Karen Ruano says:

I love how the idea of this fragrance came from Christopher’s friends and how he missed seeing them during COVID. This notes sound amazing!

  • One of the main reasons why Bravi is so appealing to me , is because of Christopher Chong level of creativity, who decides to make a fragrance because of his love for opera ? And also he’s working with the perfumer who was also invited to the same spectacle ?
Bravi falls into the elegant spicy and sweet floral category, and walnut milk accord is making it more suave .
My favorite Thameen London fragrance is Bohemian Infusion , Carved Oud i like a lot too
    Another overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Oh boy, Thameen London is such an amazing fragrance house and one that I adore.
I love the honey, tuberose and tobacco in here. I am excited also because Bravi has density on it and it has a personality on its own.
I hope I get my nose on it soon.

  • I am not familiar with night blooming cereus but the notes used in this reimagining are fascinating. I see a lot of warmth; ginger, saffron, honey and tobacco. The addition of tuberose always gets my attention because I love the note but it’s so rarely done well. The walnut milk accord is new to me but as Steven says, it’s not a gourmand fragrance so I would like to see what that brings to the composition. I’m in the US.

  • Man, why can’t I win something!? Ao many people are leaving comments that I have no chance. Recently became obsessed with floral fragrances and thammen is an amazing brand which I love and trust.

  • I really liked Christopher Chong’s comments about the “humane attributes we take for granted”. I’ve never heard that sentiment put quite that way, at it’s a lovely inspiration for a warm honey-floral perfume. The way Steven described the central floral note made the tuberose seem particularly decedent, and he also highlighted the nutty gourmand aspects of Thameen London Bravi, but I’m glad the tobacco is present enough to balance everything out.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

What appealed to me about Steven’s review and what you learned from Christopher Chong’s introduction is first that Thameen London comes out with some amazing fragrances. The way Steven describes Bravi with the beautiful honeyed florals and comforting vanilla and lactonic nature sounds truly divine. Christopher Chong the artistic director did an incredible job creating this new Covent Garden collection, so I’m confident Bravi will be beautiful as well. I am from the USA.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Quite a surprise to learn about a fragrance inspired by Christopher Chong fondness for opera, then he met Bruno Jovanovic and that’s how Bravi was created.
Thameen London i usually relate to Royalties , and maybe because I’m a tailor, the way they dress.
I like the tuberose honey opening in Bravi , the saffron and I’m curious about the walnut milk accord. Well polished I’d say floral gourmand, elegant creation by Bruno Jovanovic.I’m expecting craftsmanship , and a classy aroma. The balance between the sweet, spicy and floral aspects i find stylish.
My favorite Thameen fragrance is Carved Oud
Thank you Steven, Michelyn , Christopher Chong,Bruno Jovanovic and Twisted Lily

Steven’s review highlighted the notes of Bravi wonderfully. I am intrigued by the walnut milk note. I do love a fragrance with a dense, succulent, and thick tuberose note, as well as one with notes of ginger and honey. I loved that this fragrance was inspired by Christopher Chong’s return to the opera and the way it was an occasion that brings friends together.
    I live in the USA.

  • I like how Christopher Chong together with Bruno Jovanovic made Bravi , honoring British traditions ,paying homage to his Diva, and opera enthusiasts friends.
In my Pastry Chef mind after reading Steven’s take on Bravi , I imagined making Ginger and Walnut Cake, and serving it to Bruno Jovanovic and Christopher Chong in the antrakt of their favorite spectacle. Elegant gourmand, confirmed by Michelyn herself.
I’m not yet familiar with Thameen London fragrances
Appreciate the review, Christopher Chong introduced, Michelyn own take,
    and the giveaway campaign

  • The only Thameen London I’ve smelled is Carved Oud , and it’s just awesome . Quite a famous fragrance in the fragrance community.
Of course I know Christopher Chong for his previous work with Amouage , and Bruno Jovanovic for his work with Masque Milano, and Frédéric Malle. Both are opera aficionados i see , with affinity for trust , friendship and loyalty.
Bravi feels so upscale , and refined. I like the saffron , ginger and vanilla cozy and inviting embrace, and the playful tuberose and honey.
Judging by Christopher Chong previous work, Bruno Jovanovic creativity, and affirmed by Michelyn mini review , sure enough Bravi is special , I’m thrilled
    Thanks for the draw

  • I think Christopher’s message behind this fragrance is a simple, yet powerful one. It reminds us that the most meaningful aspects of life can often be found in the simplicity of our connections and relationships. I am very intrigued by Steven’s description of the tuberose as full, dense, and succulent. Tuberose is a floral scent that I find to be the most intoxicating among the white florals.
Followed on Instagram. Much love from NY,US!

  • Multifaceted does speak to this fragrance house. I love that Christopher bought the box seats after covid lifted. I shy away from big white florals, so this does interest me. Thanks for the chance. Thanks to Twisted Lily. USA.

  • This Honey + vanilla combo seems like it would just be a easy reach for this time of the year. Looking forward to getting a sample.

  • Beautifully written and spoken, Chong and Steven. I am for sure intrigued by this fragrance after having heard everyone’s opinions on it, and the notes do sound lovely on paper too. Hopefully I get to try this one out.

I have an address in the US.

  • It always amazes me how perfumers take inspiration from the most unexpected sources like Christopher Chong’s decision to mark an occasion with attributes we otherwise take for granted, I’ve also been a longtime fan of Steve’s and this review is true to his style. It sounds like Thameen London Bravi has lots of everything a fragrance lover looks for. Thanks to Twisted Lily for the kind giveaway. I’m in USA

  • I love that this was inspired by friendship and a shared love the of the arts. It does sound like a beautiful floral and the walnut milk note along with honey sounds very appealing. Steven’s enthusiasm and admiration come through in the video! Of the three Britologne fragrances, this sounds like the one for me. in US

  • Steven has a gift for describing each note so articulately. It would e fantastic to try this fresh, spicy floral with a sweet base including the unique note of walnut milk. Thanks to Mr. Chong for sharing that Bravi is a fragrance to remember trust, friendship and loyalty. USA/KY.

  • I’m obsessed with the work that Christopher Chong is doing for Thameen! What a fabulous review!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice intros to the fragrance Michelyn and Steven. It was interesting to read about Christopher Chong’s vision for this fragrance.

I really find it interesting that this is a combination of honey, waxy tuberose and other florals. The use of vanilla to warm out the honey and the “walnut milk” accord to smoothen and create a lactonic feel make things interesting.

It’s also cool to hear that this is different from the other fragrances in the brand.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I don’t see a deadline to leave a review for this giveaway and will give it a chance! I own two frags from this brand and loveee it so much. It would be so nice to get this beauty.
