Creative Director and designer Shalini has announced her new parfum Shalini Paradis Provence. It  is the fourth fragrance under her eponymous brand each composed by master perfumer Maurice Roucel of Symrse : Shalini Amorem Rose 2018 (Fragrance Foundation Finalist for Indie Perfume 2019)  Jardin Nocturne 2017 and her cult classic white floral Shalini (2004)

Where her first fragrance Shalini (2004) was inspired by Shalini’s memories of Seville, and  Jardin Nocturne of Dubai at night, Shalini Paradis Provence was inspired by The South of France… the land of Provence…“paradise on earth”.

Tomorrow and the next day too, we will have days no different from this when the blue and golden moments glide by, days when suspended time stands still, merciful days where shadows come from a drawn curtain, a closed door or leafy trees, and not from an overcast sky.”  Colette

According to the press release, Shalini Paradis Provence is the fragrance of eternal summer and is ”a solar composition of lavender absolut, thyme and orange blossoms. Fields of blue lavande, thyme, orange blossoms, sunflowers following the golden sun, ancient olive trees, the sky that turns pink as it touches the azure of the Mediterranean and amorous nights drenched in jasmine.

  • I would do anything to buy that. Sell my car. Maurice Roucel is a genius and I have samples of the Shalini and Rose Amorem.
That Lalique bottle will be in my dreams

  • Ooohhh- a must smell! And that Lalique bottle is absolutely stunning!
I am intrigued to smell how Maurice Roucel combines the scents of Provence.

Wow, the Deux Fleurs bottle is stunning! And I so adore the scents and bounty of Provençe, it is one of my favorite regions in the entire world. It would not surprise me in the least if M. Roucel was perfectly able to capture the beauty and nuance of the region.

Interesting roster of notes (I’m European, and thyme-sunflower-olive made me smile, as did the notion of mixing the cold lavender with the hot jasmine on top of it all)- but apart from that, picking the vesica piscis for a flacon is pure madness!!! How better to show, literally, a juxtaposition, or common ground? This is brilliant. Love it much (from a distance, of course, as I’ll probably never touch the likes of it in this lifetime).
    Good work. Again. 🙂

  • Oh, this sounds gorgeous, I love lavender and orange blossom. I studied in Avignon for a semester in college, and use herbes de Provence in my vinaigrette for salad to this day. The bottle is lovely!

Oh to be able to afford that. The bottle alone calls my name and to have such a great perfumeur….

  • That bottle is a work of art and fitting for invocation of a never ending summer which the notes description also allude to. Just lovely

Oh My!!! I have Jardin Nocturne, a heady deep gorgeous jasmine with subtle oud that is out of this world. And a 1/4 ounce sample of Amorem Rose. I also purchased that crystal bottle on ebay a couple of years ago. Shalini is repurposing historic lalique designs to wonderful affect! Can’t wait!
