It’s an afternoon in a bustling New York City restaurant. I’m there, laptop open, fingers tapping away at the keys, when something on the menu catches my eye—a pistachio crème brûlée. As someone who holds a deep appreciation for the classic dessert, this discovery immediately sparks excitement. When it arrives, it’s everything I imagined and more: creamy, perfectly toasted, and wholly addictive. This moment of indulgence parallels my experience with my first wear of Rosy & Earnest Pistachio Delight.

The award-winning women-owned brand that stands out for its luxurious, fine fragrances with 100% transparent, non-toxic, and worry-free ingredients was launched in March of 2023, by two friends who sought a health-conscious lifestyle after becoming mothers, aims to create fragrances that are both clean and safe. The brand’s commitment to transparency, clean ingredients, and quality has garnered recognition with awards such as the Consider Beyond Conscious Brand Award (2024) and the Global Green Best Ethical Fragrance Award (2023). All Rosy & Earnest formulations are vegan, cruelty-free, and in environmentally friendly, minimalistic packaging.

EWG Environmental Working Group verification Rosy & Earnest

EWG (Environmental Working Group) verification

What also sets Rosy & Earnest apart is their commitment to transparency, epitomized by their EWG (Environmental Working Group) verification. This certification is not easily attained, demanding rigorous scrutiny of ingredients and validation of the brand’s claims by an independent third party. In an industry fraught with unsubstantiated promises, Rosy & Earnest’s dedication to honesty is refreshing and they deliver. Their collaboration with Lab Scent’s award-winning perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer, resulted in fragrances that are not only safe but complex and beautiful. Notably, they are the second Eau de Parfum to receive the EWG-verified certification and the first in Canada.

Master perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer

Rosy & Earnest fragrances are composed by master perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer and Pistachio Delight is a gourmand composition that defies expectations. Through it hints at sweetness, it reveals a savory and transparent complexity that is intriguing and quite addictive. Rosy & Earnest Pistachio Delight opens with a bright burst of bergamot, which elegantly balances the roasted pistachio notes. A sweet gourmand accord, reminiscent of berry meringue, adds a touch of brightness, while pink pepper provides a subtle, fragrant counterpoint. The result is a fragrance that is deliciously nuanced and decadently complex, evoking memories of pistachio ice cream, crème brûlée, and freshly baked cookies. The dry down is warm, ambery and with soft woodsy nuances.

Pistachio Delight by Rosy and Earnest

The fragrance industry has recently embraced a variety of nut-based scents—caramelized, green, milky—from walnuts and hazelnuts to peanuts, we savored many. Yet, for me, pistachios remain unparalleled. As I continue to enjoy Pistachio Delight, I find comfort in knowing that it is both a luxurious indulgence and a safe choice for my skin.

With that in mind, I will envelop myself in this olfactory delight, order another pistachio crème brûlée, and surrender to the pleasure with a clear conscience, knowing that what I put on my skin brings no harm—only joy and olfactory indulgence.

Notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper; Roasted Nuts, Pistachio Mastic (Lentisque); Gourmand Accord, Amber Xtreme, Woodsy Notes, Vanilla Absolute, Musk.

The bottle was kindly gifted to me but opinions are always my own.

Picture it: it’s a summer afternoon and you’re going for a snack to catch up with a friends. You see a bakery while walking and decide to stop by as the heat of summer is blazing. Upon walking in, you check out the menu and see the flavor of the day is pistachio and they have it in different offerings, including crème brûlée. You order it and it tastes so juicy, organic and rich. This is what I envision Pistachio Delight smells like: a sweet, photorealistic pistachio crème brûlée that brings about a refreshing sensation in the high heat. I wasn’t too familiar with Rosy & Earnest but I’m a huge supporter of any company that it’s very transparent with their products and care about the environment. They’re talking the talk, walking the walk and smelling the success of their approach. Cheers from the US.

  • A new take for a gourmand fragrance, a pistachio crème brûlée’. I’m not familiar with Rosy and Earnest, but I am intrigued by their idea of non- toxic, and vegan ingredients. As for perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer, her idea of using pistachios note with mix of creamy ambery dry down gave me an imaginative experience that this will be a great fragrance on hot weather especially on summer beach vacation. I hope that I can get a chance to experience it. Im from California USA

  • EWG certified sounds big! I don’t know much about transparency in perfumery but will keep on reading your articles to find out more. 😉 The scent must be delicious. But in an elegant, perfumey way as I imagine. Thanks for the opportunity! I’m in the EU.

  • The Bergamot will add a bright, crisp opening with a citrus addition. I applaud the transparency and also their EWG certification. I am in the US.

  • I am a fan of Pistachio Baklava, and if I am being totally candid, anything with Pistachios will always get my attention. The addition of Bergamot, I am sure, adds such crispness and brightness with its citrus qualities. Kudos for the EWG Certification. I appreciate the integrity and transparency of this Canadian woman-owned business. I am in the USA.

This could be my signature scent. The description here in this review leave me wanting more, to smell this for myself. Transparency is everything, to know what I’m putting on my body is important and appreciated. I live in Oregon.

  • The vanilla and dergamot mix really sparked my interest. Well transparency open a lot of doors in the perfume word. I live in Trzebnica, Poland EU.

  • I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and I was immediately intrigued by Olya’s review of Rosy & Earnest Pistachio Delight. The detailed description of the fragrance’s layers—from the bright bergamot to the roasted pistachio and the sweet gourmand accord—truly sparked my interest. The emphasis on transparency and the EWG certification resonates deeply with me as I believe in using products that are safe and non-toxic. It’s reassuring to know that a luxurious fragrance can also be a responsible and ethical choice.

  • jessica.rauch says:

I like that the fragrance isn’t too sweet. The bergamot and amber balance it out. That makes it stand out from some of the other pistachio fragrances out there. I applaud the brand for its clean approach with transparency. The EWG certification is impressive to the buyer and gives more confidence. Greetings from New York, NY!

I love pistachio in fragrances as I love to eat it as well. I cant wait to get my nose on to this lovely fragrance. From PA,USA

  • It’s about time we had transparency in perfumes. There are so many fragrances out there where what you buy turns out to be loaded with hidden ingredients that you didn’t bargain for. I’m not against the synthetics, especially when they can replace an endangered or ethically iffy ingredient, but I much prefer a scent I don’t wonder about safety-wise and that doesn’t hurt our world even more than we are already doing. I live in the USA and the review makes this sounds delicious. Drooling a bit.

  • AleksCipri says:

Loved reading about Rosy&Ernest. Never heard of this brand and I really like their commitment to environment and transaprancy about their ingredients. I think a lot of people will appreciate that. This fragrance intrigues me as pistachio is one of my favorite nutty notes. I love eating them in both sweet and savory dishes and I loved reading this fragrance balances both of these facets. Cheers from Illinois US.

  • I love the idea of perfume houses going for sustainability in packaging and sourced materials. More of this!! I know that pistachio had quite a fan club moment a year ago or so and it’s still going, but I managed to avoid them all – not by design. lol so I’d love to try this. It will be my first from the house too and my goodness Nathalie Feisthauer? We are in great hands!
I am located in US thank you for the opportunity to win.

  • I love hearing about sustainable, women-owned businesses, thanks for highlighting this brand, Olya!

  • John Gahlt says:

Olya’s review of Rosy & Earnest Pistachio Delight piqued my interest with its vivid description of the fragrance’s complex and savory notes, likened to pistachio crème brûlée. I appreciate the brand’s commitment to transparency and clean ingredients, as evidenced by their EWG verification, which sets a new standard in the perfume industry. Transparency in perfumes not only builds trust with consumers but also ensures that we can indulge in luxury scents without compromising our health.

Glad to see there is a mention of savoury aspect to Pistachio Delight. It sparks my intersest, with anything colour green. Transparency in anything is better than no transparency. I live in the EU.

  • Interest sparked merely by this being pistachio. I don’t have a strong opinion on transparency in perfumes. US

  • ElenaChiss says:

I am not very familiar with pistachio in a fragrance, although I do like them when it comes to being used in various foods. Looking forward to trying Pistachio Delight as it will be a novelty for me.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

  • I am so happy more companies are making all natural fragrances with no toxic ingredients. This is the first I’ve seen that is a gourmand and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I love gourmands that have nut notes but I’ve only ever smelled ones with almond or hazelnut. This sounds like a gorgeous scent with pistachio. So creamy and warm in that drydown! A niche shop in Scranton just got it in stock, so I can’t wait to smell it!

I’ve never eaten pistachio crème brûlée, it sounds interesting and appetizing. I like both pistachio and crème brûlée, I will try this combination for the first time. I am from EU

  • What I loved most about Olya’s review was the mouthwatering description of Pistachio Delight. The mix of bergamot, roasted pistachio, and berry meringue sounds irresistible. I also appreciate Rosy & Earnest’s dedication to using safe, transparent ingredients. Knowing the fragrance is both luxurious and non-toxic is a big plus. Their commitment to honesty in the perfume industry makes me really want to try Pistachio Delight. Thanks for the draw, from the USA.

  • In Olya’s words, Pistachio Delight sounds delicious, yet elegant, well composed and easy to wear. As a fragrance lover who is just starting to dip their toes in gourmand territory, Pistachio Delight sounds like a helping, gentle experience. Of course, sustainability is a big plus in everything and it’s awesome to see more and more brands investing their efforts in this direction.

  • I’m one of those people who always gets pistachio ice cream when I’m at an ice cream shop, so a pistachio gourmand fragrance is very appealing to me. The addition of a bright citrus note in the form of bergamot and a spicy pink pepper kick works well with the amber/vanilla/musk base. I’m happy to see more and more clean products like this on the market. MD, USA.

  • Pistachios are one of my favorite nuts to snack on, but I honetsly never thought I would enjoy them in fragrances. However, the surge of pistachio offerings that have come around in the last year or so has proven me wrong. (Kayali’s Pistachio Gelato is splendidly playful; Obvious Perfumes Une Pistache is simple yet rich; and , of course, D.S. & Durga’s Pistachio is a gourmand fantasy come to life.) Rosy & Ernest Pistachio Delight appears to be just as wonderful as any of these. The combination of pistachio, cookies, and creme brulee sounds delectable. Best of luck to everyone. I live In NC, USA.

  • I love pistachio in perfumery and I was intrigued by this description of a fragrance that leans less sweet and more savory. Transparency in perfume is important ro me but I am also okay with a little mystery! The EWG is rigorous but honestly there are other measures of transparency that I would trust more. I am in the US.

  • Pistachio sounds like such an interesting note to have in a fragrance. I do not have much experience with this ingredient, but a couple a weeks ago, I was gifted a sample of Un Jardin a Cythere – which I wore to the last drop – and that one opened my appetite for pistachio. Looking forward to anything that has this note featured. Thanks!

  • Wow, to get EWG approval is huge. Congrats to them. Also, this sounds like a stand out pistachio scent. I happen to love them myself and like seeing a scent that is outside the box so to speak. In maryland.

  • I don’t have any perfume with pistachio, this creation is delicious, a little jewel, I love gourmand perfumes (like almost everyone) and the bottle is simple and refined at the same time. I don’t know this brand, congratulations on the care of the raw materials, the result is surprising.

  • Wow Olya this is a fantastic review. I love pistachio and creme brulee, so I know I will love Pistachio Delight. Rosy & Earnest sets a high standard for so many with their commitment to transparency, EWG certification and Nathalie Feisthauer is truly a master perfumer.USA

  • We could love, love this. Crene brulee, Pistachio, berry. Never tried Parfums from this house. I need to sample this. Wow! What a great review and description. I follow and love EWG. April My nbesota USA

Hm, pistachio crême brûlée – sounds yummy, although I can’t say I’d know what to expect, since I’m only familiar to the classic recipe. Pistachio Delight must live up to its name, I’ m thinking something that’s savoury, delicately sweet, gentle and almost tastable. I think a light green colour would’ve made it even more appealing :).
It’s very courageous being honest – and to go all the necessary lengths to offer a scent that is not dangerous to the skin, is produced with care, safe ingredients and transparency says pretty much about the brand’s owners dedication for excellency.

  • roxhas1cat says:

I love that this just hints at sweetness. I have a few fragrances with pistachio that aren’t gourmand and it’s an amazing note. I know that EWG will appeal to a lot of people. I agree with Olya, pistachio is for sure the top nut in my book!! Last summer I saw the largest pistachio in the US at Pistachio Land in Alamogordo NM. Their pistachio coffee is amazing!! I hope the pistachio moment doesn’t end. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Pistachio, pistachio, and, oh yeah…pistachio are what caught my attention. The “gourmand accord” has also piqued my attention on this creation. This is one I am surely looking forward to getting my nose on.
When it comes to transparency, I think it is a good idea. My best example of a transparent fragrance house, would be “Perfume Sucks”. They actually provide you with all ingredients and the recipe. Very interesting.

  • This is my first time hearing about Rosy and Earnest, so I am most appreciative of the review and giveaway for providing the information. Pistachio Delight sounds really delicious! and I genuinely am pleased when companies move towards transparency and feeling comfortable about products used on skin. I liked that Olya explored how the scent opens and changes. Thank you for the giveaway, from Canada!

  • I appreciate that the women behind Rosy & Earnest strive to create fragrances in a transparent, environmentally friendly manner, and their EWG recognition is admirable. They’re also wise to team up with a perfumer as capable as Nathalie Feisthauer. Pistachio Delight may be fairly sweet, but the bergamot and pink pepper add some brightness, and the warm toasty base sounds lovely.

Hello and thank you for the opportunity! What caught my eye right away in the review is this statement: ”Pistachio Delight is a gourmand composition that defies expectations. Through it hints at sweetness, it reveals a savory and transparent complexity that is intriguing and quite addictive”. This really sounds great to me! Also, in a world fool of pretended niche and fragrances without a soul, the fact that Rosy & Earnest received the EWG-verified certification is truly amazing! I am from Romania.

  • Creamy, perfectly toasted, and wholly addictive. The result is a fragrance that is deliciously nuanced and decadently complex, evoking memories of pistachio ice cream, crème brûlée, and freshly baked cookies.
For me transparency in perfumes is extremely important as it ensures health and safety in fragrance market.

THanks for the writeup Olya. My pet peeve with pistachio as a scent/flavor is that it is all almond/amaretto flavored.

The notes do confuse me because I see a roasted nut accord and a pistachio mastic accord?

I would love to try this.

    Cheers from WI, USA

I have only recently gotten into gourmand perfumes–and what a time to get into them. The idea of roasted pistachio and berry meringue sounds delightful indeed. As a vegan, I am happy when perfumes are certified 100% vegan. I appreciate the difficulty and time it takes to receive certification.

  • I love pistachios and though there have been a wave of pistachio fragrances lately, I haven’t sampled them. But I’d love to try something from this company – I appreciate their commitment to transparency. I’m in the USA.

  • Olya’s review had me wishing I was at the table next to her while she tapped away on those keys and getting those smells. Pistachio is lowly creeping to becoming my favorite note in gourmand scents. Pistachio creme brulee? Oh yeah sign me up.

Now when it comes to transparency in perfumes I can definitely appreciate it. Lot of folks have skin irritants and knowing that a scent could possibly have it before spraying is amazing.
