Ramon Monegal Invisible But Cool review

“You still don’t know me, and I already fascinate you. You haven’t even seen me, but you know you’re attracted to me. I master the art of subtlety, and I catch with my determination and talent. You haven’t met anyone like me. I’m 100% charisma.” -Quote from Ramon Monegal on Invisible But Cool.

Who doesn’t want to be invisible but cool? The idea of blending in but having the aura of someone unforgettable is certainly attractive to me. As such Ramon Monegal Invisible But Cool certainly piqued my interest. Invisible But Cool is one of three new perfumes in his Kaleidoscopic Collection which express his imagination through different lenses. This year has seen a shift from the overtly dense and in your face ‘crowd pleasing’ fragrances to a more ‘refined’ target orientated number of releases which are focused on creating a lasting imprint on our memories. The idea of creating fantasy and intrigue via perfume is something we can relate to and here Ramon Monegal has taken his heritage and knowledge of fragrance to present us with a scent which is thoroughly modern but uses tried and tested ingredients to pronounced effect.

“Perfume precedes presence and lingers on in absence.” –Ramon Monegal

Ramon Monegal Invisible But Cool has three key elements which make it an unusual perfume for the summer; projection, sillage and longevity. It fills the air with a crisp fresh vibe which is the perfect for hot and humid days teamed up with a cotton shirt, jeans and ice white kicks. This perfume speaks clean, modern and dignified. One can imagine it playing the role of a cool breeze blowing against the sail of a yacht on the Mediterranean coastline. Everything about this fragrance speaks out for one to chill and relax. Invisible But Cool brings a likeable fruity nuance yet keeps things refined rather than overblown and loud.

The opening is crystalline, sparkling, and the combination of bergamot, sweet orange and coriander gives the sense of a shimmer on the sea. The heart of Invisible But Cool is where things become remarkably interesting. From reading the notes, we may think that the fusion of jasmine, neroli and violet might take a sultry or indolic shift. However, these notes are used to amplify the slight powdery and subtle sweetness of the perfume as opposed to bringing through strong sensual aspects. The base of sandalwood, mate and oakmoss pushes the woody and earthy nuances to the fore and the use of mate in particular highlights the crisp and almost herbaceous tonality of Invisible But Cool. The result is a perfume which is easy to wear and suitable for nearly everyone.

So why is it a special fragrance? Although it clearly has a commercial appeal, Ramon Monegal Invisible But Cool has two advantages; clean subtlety – what I mean by this is that there is no overdose of aroma chemicals. Huge longevity – I sprayed in the morning on leaving my home and when I returned late at night to my surprise the scent still lingered in the air. From a selfish perspective the compliment factor is high, people around me mentioned how good I smelled and that I got it right in terms of presentation. This makes Invisible But Cool a clear go to for this time of the year when one wants to keep things easy going but when you still want to get noticed.

  • I love the idea of that shift more towards a targeted audience when it comes to fragrance. I like the idea of smelling different from everyone when I wear a scent even if I’m not necessarily receiving compliments. So hopefully Invisible but cool can do that for me especially if it is a scent that will last me all day and has the potential to become a signature scent for me. I live in Dallas, TX

  • I think Invisible But Cool is the perfect fragrance for the summer; the freshness it provides, the cleanness and how everything is perfectly blended providing great projection, sillage and longevity.

  • i’m intrigued by the name of this perfume, and “cotton shirt, jeans and ice white kicks” describes my current summer style to a T. particularly interested in the sandalwood, mate, and oakmoss base – three of my favorite scents, and i’m interested in seeing how they’ll interact with the more powdery heart notes. • The notes of neroli and jasmine are what intrigued me, I enjoy scents that last all day therefore purchasing deep and dark scents usually. The sound of a light and sweet scent that has longevity is something I’ve been looking for.

  • Bergamot is one of my favorite citrus scents. This seems like more than just a simple summer scent when we see sandalwood and oakmoss within. This is an excellent sounding elixir that I cannot wait to sample. Thank you. USA

  • Karl, thank you for this lovely review! You painted a good picture of what to expect of this scent and and made it easier to paint a picture of a feeling the scent brings. I get a picture of a holiday at sea feeling breeze on a yacht while the water is glistening in the afternoon sun, or chill Sunday where you just want to pop out to your favorite stylish Café to meet a friend wearing simple yet stylish clothes and being a picture of good taste and relaxation. • You make me curious. Your description sounds like the ubiquitous AmbroXtreme trail, but since you give all clear there, I’d love to experience this scent. Should also be great in the office I assume. I’d love to win this to Germany, thank you for the draw.

This makes Invisible But Cool a clear go to for this time of the year when one wants to keep things easy going but when you still want to get noticed. A beautiful review by Karl really impressed by the notes especially Coriander and Sandalwood in particular. The fact that compliment and longevity is monster just adds to the whole package. Thanks for the review! For me it’s rather hard to imagine a really pure and fresh fragrance that lasts long, I’ve tried so many, but never had the effect. So that was something that caught my eye. Would love to try it! I live in Switzerland.

  • This fragrance sounds fun! I love that it has great longevity, but also is kind of subtle, going easily in a place where you want to make an impression, but not necessarily stand out for being too obvious.
    Thanks! Europe

  • I like how Karl also explains why this is special, yet has more mass appeal. Longevity is important in the summer, so that is good to know. I loved Ramon’s quote on this fragrance. I thought of myself, I’m 60 now, keep a low profile, go about my day……yet I am still cool. I tried this line at OSME in Miami, but I was smelling so many things. I remember liking everything I smelled and thinking the bottles are cool! Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Thanks for the review Karl!

Ramon Monegal is a house I have yet to try. I loved your review of Next To Me and I enjoyed this article about Invisible But Cool just as much.

I laughed when you mentioned the ‘compliment factor’ which is such a contentious subject in this community. In my opinion you should wear fragrances that you love and if they garner you much positive attention then that is a bonus.

I am still relatively new to the fragrance world with many different things to try. Niche fragrances can be challenging for me and it sometimes takes me months to appreciate a fragrance. The fact that this has a more ‘commercial’ approach make me think that this is something I can wear anytime, any day. We all need a fragrance like that.

I would love to give Invisible But Cool a try!

    Greetings from the UK!

  • Karl!!! ❤️❤️❤️ LOVE this!!! What a fascinating fragrance! Right now, in the August humidity & heat, I definitely want to smell of “a shimmer on the sea.” Fascinating. I’m really interested in the notes of Cool: the shimmering opening, the light floral heart, and most especially the sandalwood, mate, and oakmoss base! This combination is new to me and has lots of potential! Cool, indeed! Thank you for sharing this intriguing fragrance! What a wonderful opportunity! USA

  • I just started sampling this house a few weeks ago. I like quite a few of the ones I tested. The bottle design is awesome. Thank you for the draw!

  • Invisible but Cool is an excellent name for a fragrance! The projection, longevity and sillage are appealing in a summer perfume that evokes a cool breeze on a Mediterranean yacht. The overall effect seems cool and effortless. I’m in MD, USA.

  • The two words “clean subtlety” sum it up perfectly: it’s what I want my daily scent to be in summer. Sounds fabulous! I live in the USA.

  • Really thorough review of an interesting and summery perfume.
Love the notes and would love to try it

  • My favorites from the line of Ramon Monegal are Flamenco and Ole. I am curious about this new perfume, as it goes a different road than those two mentioned earlier who are in the fruity genre. Thanks for the review and the draw.

  • Bryant Worley says:

Karl did a very good review. I really appreciated 2 things about Cool – 1) The base of sandalwood, mate and oakmoss pushes the woody and earthy nuances to the fore and the use of mate in particular highlights the crisp and almost herbaceous tonality of Invisible But Cool. The result is a perfume which is easy to wear and suitable for nearly everyone, and 2) The longevity, and the high compliment factor.

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • Invisible but Cool sounds like the perfect “my skin but better” fragrance, crisp, modern and sensual.
I loved the fact it’s described as clean and dignified, yet then evolves into sultrier, more sensual territory with the flowers and powdery aspects, and yet managed to stay away from ever becoming loud, vulgar or a nighttime scent.
    I live in the EU.
    Thanks!

  • “Perfume precedes presence and lingers on in absence.” – this is absolute perfection, and so are the notes of Invisible but cool. I wasn’t very keen on discovering Monegal’s crowd pleasers – but when I see lightness in colours, the liquid and the bottle, I know it is something I definitely wanna try.
    I am living in EU.

  • Love the ramon monegal line! Their musks are quite stunning and this one sounds right up my alley.

Thank you Karl, reading your review I could almost smell Invisible But Cool on my skin on a hot sunny day, with the irresistible crisp and fresh opening full of universally appealing refinement. It was great to find out that despite the use of jasmine, neroli and violet there is no indolic or sultry sweetness in the composition. I am also intrigued by how the note of mate steers the fragrance towards herbaceous realms. I am based in the EU

  • Eric Enzman says:

The Violet / Mate combo in this fragrance sounds absolutely stunning, not to mention that it boasts the much sought after trifecta of length, projection, and summer appropriate! Also I am loving the psychedelic/neon/vapor wave marketing. Hoping to win this one !

  • Thanks Karl for the review! it is so appealing the quote of Ramon Monegal about the charisma: don’t know someone, and already fascinated by him/her! and his way to translate that into a perfume creating fantasy and intrigue : a modern scent with widely used ingredients. His family Myrurgia heritage and knowledge is able to give a supposedly summer fragrance with projection, sillage and longevity with a clean subtlety. And something we don´t usually consider but is very important even if we wear fragrances four ourselves: the compliment factor. So back to the title of the review: Invisible and Cool. I live in Spain, EU.

  • Karl Topham take on Invisible But Cool made me think of being in Portugal, making Yerba Mate tea time cake , and later on going on a walk with my girlfriend, and sharing the cake with orange juice, while sitting in the middle of a big field of flowers
The only Ramon Monegal fragrance i know is Bravo. I had a small decant , and now a full bottle. In my Pastry Chef mind , smells like I’m eating Chocolate Ganache Cake with Cassis, drinking freshly squeezed apricot juice , sitting on a leather sofa.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • I like the longevity of Invisible but Cool even though it is a citrus fresh fragrance. I live in Indiana.

  • The imagery in this article is breathtaking! The description of the fragrance sounds so lovely and uplifting, yet gentle. At the end of the article, I really like that it is described as being both having clean subtlety yet huge longevity. Most gentle scents don’t last long on the skin. I love that this one just lasts and lasts. I’ve never had the please of trying anything from Ramon Monegal. I’d love to be able to add this one to my collection. Especially since it sounds like such an easy to wear scent.

I like hearing about a fragrance which is good for hot weather and has good overall performance too. This one seems like it would be easy to like. I’m interested in trying it because it has neroli and oakmoss. I still haven’t tried anything yet from this company, but I’d like to sample all of their fragrance releases. I live in the U.S.A.

  • All Ramon Monegal fragrances I’ve tried are all provocative, powerful , and almost bohemian.
It seems like Invincible But Cool is a bit more casual, vacation type of fragrance with top performance, I’m interested.
Karl Topham review made me believe through Invisible But Cool I’ll be able to hear the song of the sea , to smell the flowers he brought me, and the blood pulse is rising, the night is ours.
One of my favorite fragrances is Impossible Iris – Ramon Monegal. Modern and cozy fruity-floral.

  • I’m all in for cotton shirt, jeans and ice white kicks fragrance. Scent wise the thing i like the most in Invincible But Cool is the blend between the delicate floral-woody parts, and the ever slightly carnal undertones.
It’s very hard for me to rate my 3 favorite Ramon Monegal fragrances, so I’ll name a few Flamenco , Next to Me , Olé , Faisa,Soul of Oud and Bravo .

I find the contradictory elements this creation presents intriguing. Bringing “projection”, “sillage”, and “longevity” to a Summer fragrance is very “unusual” and very alluring to me. I am one who finds an added value in a fragrance’s performance. It also seems to be as scent that reflects who I am in reality…and “easy-going” soul, that enjoys being noticed by those whom I love and value greatly. I live in the US.

  • Clean, long lasting, and a compliment puller sounds great. My days seem to be a never ending string of hot humid weather, this would be perfect. I’m in the USA.

  • Karl Topham drew a fancy yacht picture in my mind, where I’m wearing my Tory Burch Cotton Gabriella Dress and Ella Printed Tote Bag In Blue Marina , with some generous sprays of Invisible But Cool .
Marvellous combination for romantic dinners on board, or ashore and for lounging by the Jacuzzi or on deck, but for most activities on my luxury charter vacation .Romantic potion made by Ramon Monegal, what I expect from Invisible But Cool .
I’d like to add one , or two Bergamot Mojito’s to the picture , cheers everyone
The best Ramon Monegal fragrance I think is Mon Patchouly, half chocolate, half earthy patchouli with amber and incense. Performance is awesome
    Thank you for the opportunity
