For several years, I have made it my mission to work closely with other independent perfume brands and retailers in the United States, eventually extending our reach abroad. The intention started as directing customers to other retailers to find the rarest perfumes and resulted happier customers and stronger businesses. Developing professional friendships has empowered me to understand the fragrance market and our unique customers significantly better. Together we learn about shared customer needs in our missions, and build strong alliances that benefit the customers and small up and coming brands.

One of our top customers knew this about me and recommended that I reach out to Saeed Alnuaimi, founder of The Scent Library in the UAE. We quickly developed a strong connection because we had very similar goals and struggles building our businesses, despite being in such different regions of the world. I realized that we should meet face to face, making the effort to fly to their flagship store in Dubai a few years ago. Totally worth it, kicking off a close friendship that has built up both of us individually and professionally.

Now in 2024, both The Scent Library and Perfumology have relaunched our respective in-house perfume brands. We brought The Scent Library to the States earlier this year, and Perfumology to the Emirates this month. Our customers fell in love with their perfumes and they sold out again and again. On my trip to visit Dubai, Perfumology sold out in less than one week at our events. Now finally I get to introduce Saeed and his brand to our customers in Philadelphia this Sunday at our boutique, and I fully expect to sell out of a few references in their collection.

Customers in both countries expect us to make and bring them unique, soulfully produced perfumes. They want to share that experience with their friends and family. The lessons that retail shop founders learn from their customers is invaluable, and both Saeed and I get to produce that in our brands. I can’t wait to introduce him to our community.

Please join us Sunday, July 28th, 2024 from 2pm to 6pm to meet Saeed Alnuaimi of The Scent Library at the Perfumology boutique at 25 N 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

From the collection, Emarati Dream sounds the most appealing to me as I love sweet fragrances and the vanilla and cinnamon combo for me it’s to die for. I’ve read about Perfumology before many times but never had the chance to make it down to Philly and check out the stores but the pictures I’ve seen, it looks immaculate. Global connections are truly a way for brands and small boutique stores to survive as they bridge the world together. Cheers from USA.

I would use the $50 e-certificate on Emarati Dream. This one has a few of the notes I enjoy in a fragrance. Cinnamon, Incense & Tobacco.

Building global connections is a beautiful thing. Global connections creates great relationships and it helps to introduce different things in life including fragrances. I’m glad this connection was made.

I always loved visiting The Library in Abu Dhabi while I was living there. The carefully curated collection was a joy to experience and it was such a welcoming place! I never got to try the store’s signature scents but, I am sure Saeed has done a wonderful job with them all! And thank you to Nir for bridging their two very diverse cultures and bringing the line to the US for us all to easily enjoy. I think Lush Leaves sounds beautiful because I’m a sucker for any narcissus scent but, I’d love to smell them all. Enjoy your time in Philly, Saeed. I wish I could be there to meet you in person.

This store is so great! It would be a hard choice but I would probably get something from the jusbox collection. Black powder most likely.

  • FragheadS says:

If I were to win, I’d most probably choose from imaginary authors collection. I love their cape heartache which will be my choice of bottle.
Global connections are a must in today’s world where it not only adds to the knowledge but also brings in experience from across the world.

  • This is kind of international collaboration is always a boon for fragrance enthusiasts and I’m glad both lines are selling well. And thank you to Nir for the giveaway.

I’m in the USA. If I were to win, I’d use the gift certificate to purchase Lush Leaves.

  • So many amazing choices!! I cannot decide between Bakhoor bliss, Formula x and Victoria Velvet. I think I would ask Nir which one suits me best! He is legendary for his customer service. And I have heard great things about Saeed too. I’m so happy to know these are in the U.S. now. Ok I know I have to pick one… Formula x. Ughh I’ll be back though!!
I am in the US. Thank you for your generous give away.

Perfumery is a global business. As I learn more about it, there is just a need to really think about cultural norms, global material supply chains, marketing and consumer preferences from all around.

As with all things, we are human, connection is important and fragrances is one of those tangles.

Really enjoyed reading this and wishing this conenction all the best.
