Firmenich senior perfumer Frank Voekl was called on to create 16a Orchard. Rather than center the fragrance around a central note or evocation of place, Voekl took a more oblique approach and composed a mood piece: “I aimed to create a sense of emotional wellbeing through a simplistic fragrance structure. The use of ingredients extracted from natural roots like ginger and iris tie us back to our earth, making us feel grounded and centered,” he relates. Think of how you feel when you suddenly laugh after crying. That is 16a Orchard by Aedes de Venustas.

Phoenix Botanicals Water Nymph by Irina Adam is hypnotically, strangely beautiful and completely its own fanciful creature brought to life in a photorealistic sense.
Scottish artisan perfumer Euan McCall is likely to draw inspiration from myriad sources; with his latest releases, Jorum Studio Pentimento and Elegy, one feels a wistful nostalgia which saturates them each with a luxurious neo-classicism bordering on tender melancholy. They couldn’t be more different from one another – which constitutes part of their charm
Aftelier Joie de Vert, composed by award winning natural perfumer Mandy Aftel is akin to being lured into the forest initially by the song of the woodthrush, only to discover that it has flown and now you are being serenaded by the owl as daylight retires.
