In Sarah Baker Perfumes Loudo, her newest creation, Baker tapped master perfumer Chris Maurice (a nom de nez of perfumer Christian Carbonnel) to fashion an oud-centric fragrance inspired by childhood play and, as Baker describes, “how it deeply shapes our ability to understand and use conceptual and abstract thinking.” With its unique marriage of elegant oud and quirky, gourmand undercurrent, Loudo is unexpectedly delicious.

While Bon Monsieur by Rogue Perfumery playfully, yet respectfully, draws inspiration from bygone powerhouses (many of which have been reformulated to abide by IFRA regulations), the fearless “Cross-ness” of the composition separates Bon Monsieur by Rogue Perfumery from the fragrances it emblematizes. As in the culinary world, a successful recipe is predicated on the quality of its ingredients and it’s clear that this rogue perfumer’s risks have paid off.
