A few months ago, I was sent a sample of perfume by Maggie Mahboubian of Parfums Lalun called Acqua di Callitis. I unearthed the sample she had sent me and decided to give it a try. I am glad I waited, because it is the perfect scent for right now, when I have a few coveted warm days ahead.
Pierre Guillaume has been fascinating me with his Huitieme Art Parfums line from the beginning. I’ve always found the best of the Huitieme Art Parfums as studies in the possibilities of the central ingredient and the newest and tenth member of the Huitieme Art Parfums family, Podre de Riz is an excellent example of what I am talking about.
The perfumes in the line reflect those kinds of aromas, as they are largely simply constructed scents based around a single note. The perfumery is based in San Francisco, and care is taken to have an environmentally conscious enterprise.
