  • What interested me was how sometimes life pushes people into falling in love with fragrant type products like soaps and candles etc.

  • Hernando! ❤️❤️ What a fantastic report from this fun and meaningful event! I’m struck by how many brands are giving back and choosing to work with ethics in mind. That’s awesome! I don’t need a gift bag; I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent reporting!!! ❤️

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

It is very cool to so many small businesses featured in this write up. I wish I could have gone. I bet the smells were amazing!

  • This looks like such a fun show to attend! I see many of my favorites (Lafco, Margot Elena, Antica Farmacita), and several that are new to me. I particularly found of interest the brands started by those who’ve experienced hardship, like J’Enessencce and Triange Fragrance. Thanks for the introduction to a lot of cool sounding brands.

  • It was interesting reading about such a diverse group of people with different ways of reaching similar goals: to make things that smell good! The goodie bag sounds great! NV, USA.

  • What was interesting to me was that so many brands, especially new, small, upcoming brands, focus on using clean, natural, vegan or plant-based ingredients, and focus on benefiting the society in one way or the other. Many of the brands Hernando mentioned do this – Apotheke, ESW Beauty, Le Divina, Astraea, for example. Thanks for introducing so many wonderful brands. From USA.

I felt like I was there in spirit after reading your article! This was so awesome, I would have loved to have seen so many people and brands under one roof!

    US

  • I was so inspired by all of their stories that led to them starting their own company. Whether it was love that inspired them or tragedy/hardships. It is heartwarming that most of them also donate proceeds for a good cause. I love that many also use all natural ingredients to make their fragrances, candles or skincare. I am really loving the trend this year of many companies (commercial included) that are coming out with natural based ingredient fragrances (Polo and Chloe included). This article was such a wealth of information, I’ve bookmarked the page so I can explore each and every company later on. I feel compelled to buy something from every single one of them!
I live in the USA – PA.

  • I like hearing about new and interesting brands. It is great to have the big names, but I love discovering something small and special. In maryland

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the fantastic writeup Hernando. I’m fascinated to see how many artisinal candles there were at the event. We are spoilt for choices, with candles now, which is a great problem to have.

I’m also excited about the heavy push in sustainability, both in terms of packaging and ingredients, although I do think more can be done on education the consumer.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I love seeing all these creative small businesses. I am not sure about the pet safe candles though, my silly cats are too interested in candles so I never use them in my house. Triangle Fragrance is interesting to me. I am going to go to the Saint Candle site to check that out (for gifts, not my silly cats). Thanks to the kind donors of the products, best wishes for your businesses. USA.

  • Great report and very informative. I was especially interested in the tattoo care, the women owned businesses and all the fragrances and candle’s especially lafco.
I didn’t know the company was around so long and congratulations

  • foreverscents says:

I love when there are event reports! I spent a couple of hours hitting the links that were posted here. What great products! I love reading about skin care and candles. So many of these companies have interesting stories and sustainable practices. I have heard so many good things about LAFCO NY candles. Thank you Hernando!

  • Thanks for reporting on this event. Reading about brands like LAFCO NY, Antica Farmacista, and Home County Candle Co. got me thinking; is there much overlap between perfumers and candle makers? Imaginary Authors sells candle formulations of a few of their perfumes. Anyway, I’d like to see more original scent design in home scents, versus the usual pre-blends. Of course, what works as a perfume doesn’t necessarily work well filling up a room. The Woodland Spruce candle sounds nice—evergreen and woodsy scents work well in the home, especially in cooler weather.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I would enjoy going to this kind of an event because I would like to discover all of the products which Hernando saw there. I like to hear about the companies which use natural and/or vegan formulations. I like good-smelling candles, and I would like to try The Woodland Spruce by LAFCO NY. I appreciated hearing about Companion Candles and that their candles are free of the four P’s: paraffin, phthalates, preservatives, and petroleum. I live in MD, U.S.A.
