Sadly, this year we bid farewell to Alessandro Brun, the beloved  co-founder and Artistic Director of Masque Milano. In honour of his remarkable life and contributions, his dear friend and collaborator Ermano Picco has penned a heartfelt tribute, which you can find here. Alessandro will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the magnificent fragrances he has bestowed upon us.

Ribot is the inaugural scent from Masque Milano’s exquisite Emerald Collection – a range of opulent creations crafted with the rarest ingredients, which is now, joined the latest release, Alcove, a captivating chypre by the talented Karine Chevallier.

It’s off we go to the races as we delve into the world of Ribot, a fragrance named after the legendary racehorse and inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of an early morning at the Racecourse in Deauville, Normandy. Picture a racecourse nestled by the sea, where waves crash and cheers erupt as horses thunder past the finish line. I grew up just a stone’s throw away from a racecourse and the wild Irish Sea; days were filled with the echoes of crashing waves or the electrifying cheers from the stadium of race days. Thought in Dublin, horses are still an integral part of the city’s fabric. During the summer, the pony boys take over the streets, galloping through the city centre with a wild energy. Ribot feels like it was tailor-made for me. Its essence captures the essence of my childhood. So, saddle up and let Ribot take you on its journey.

You can sense the majestic creature’s presence as it glides powerfully through the early morning mist, stirring up hints of green in its wake. The vibrant pink pepper adds a wild and electrifying spiciness to the air, mingling with Ribot’s velvety horsehair. The saffron rich leather exudes a luxurious aura, reminiscent of high-quality riding gear. A touch of rosemary and clary sage brings a warm, green essence to the beast, a hint of animalic allure from the rosemary’s sharpness, a sharp crack of the whip to move things faster. With a subtle farm-like funk adding a mischievous charm to the overall feel of the composition.

The way the equestrian animalic note is composed here is incredibly clever as it evolves, but right now one of the best hay aromas is taking all my attention. You can smell the dried and wet hay combined as if it’s in a bale, gentle fermenting. The combination of leather and herbal greens further enhances the essence of the hay, creating a truly remarkable olfactory experience. Masque Milano Ribot features the ‘Crau’ ultrasound extract grand Cru from France, which, like the saffron, has been meticulously extracted to provide an incredibly rich and lifelike scent. Antoine Lie has masterfully combined and composed these elements, taking this fragrance to a whole new level, making Ribot come alive.

Ribot by Masque Milano

Ribot carries a delicate hint of mineral saltiness in the mid stages, as if it has been seasoned to provide a delightful umami experience. It conjures the atmosphere of Deauville racecourse in Normandy, where the air is infused sea and racetrack, while making the notes sing a little more. Jasmine sambac whispers of opulent floral aromas from the bale of hay, enhancing the grassy green notes with a subtle undertone of unripe banana. This combination brings forth a hint of fermentation, capturing he realistic facets of hay, while teasing out a musky and waxy warmth. The hay becomes as luxurious as the leather riding equipment, merging seamlessly as this horse gracefully canters on.

If you have ever smelled real animalic materials you will know they have this intense sweetness, almost indolic, with a fatty richness, here Antoine Lie uses myrrh, jasmine and leather to recreate this purring wildness. Myrrh creates this sticky rich resinous darkness that lingers just under the hay, made wild with jasmine sambac, whose leathery facets gives it’s a bodily feel. A pinch of pepper spices prevents it from becoming overly sweet, while coumarin adds a dry muskiness that further enriches the leather’s texture. This intense whisper of dark sweetness possesses a magical quality, evoking an animalic, horse-like essence. Ribot exudes a quiet yet commanding power, much like standing near a majestic horse. However, it is softened by a cosy, round vanilla sweetness derived from benzoin, which intertwines with herbal green notes, creating a smoky undertone reminiscent of a rich musk lingering over grass-stained leathers. With a hint of animalic allure, Masque Milano Ribot entices with its wild and playful nature, all concealed beneath a layer of luxurious leather and floral hay. Its presence is undeniably powerful, exuding sensuality and control.

Some will smell Ribot and may be reminded of elements of Rien by Etat Libre d’Orange, another leather fragrance crafted by Antonio Lie. However, Rien has a more industrial and gothic vibe, while Masque Milano Ribot exudes an air of sophistication and opulence. It’s like the wealthy cousin who rides out on weekends from their grand estate, dressed in a refined aura and wrapped in the scent of luxurious leather. Antoine Lie’s perfumery style adds a contemporary twist to this fragrance, making it truly stunning perfume encased in an exquisite emerald bottle. This is  the scent of quiet luxury.

Notes: Pinkpepper Co2 extract Réunion, Clary Sage oil Grand Cru France, Saffron extract Grand Cru Cashmere India, Rosemary oil Morocco, Hay ‘Crau’ ultrasound extract grand Cru France, Jasmine sambac India, Leathery accord, Benzoin resinoid Laos, Myrrh oil Somalia.

  • Very interested in how the saffron adn hay accord will work together. Russian Tea has been a long-standing favorite of mine. In California, USA

  • FragranceIsMe says:

First and foremost, my condolences to Mr. Brun’s family. I read Ermano’s triibute to Alessandro Brun. Touching and very informative. Thank you Ermano.

Being a fragrance enthusiast that has an appreciation for the note of “hay”, Ermano’s article captured my attention, claiming the hay aroma in this creation to be one of the best. I look forward to experiencing this one, for sure.

As far as, a favorite from Masque Milano…hmmm…I currently own 7…the latest being Love Kills Oud. Each Masque Milano creation offers something special and appealing to me. So, for this time of year…still a little nippy weather wise…it would have to be Russian Tea 🙂

  • Owen Blackwood says:

I love the way the review talks about real animalic notes and the smell of them. It gives a clear image and memory in my mind and sounds likes a fragrance that would take me back. I love the note Hay in the breakdown and would love to see how it blends and own this fragrance, from PA in the USA.

  • Alessandro will forever be remembered for his kindness, passion and for his amazing work for Masque Milano.

Ribot is a special fragrance, the way it’s composed exudes a noble elegance. The hay accord is outstanding and the composition perfectly balanced. My favorite Masque Milano was L’ Atessa. I say was because Romanza replaced it. And recently i discovered Catherine, which took my breath away. Masque Milano has marvelous offerings and very different from each other.
I’m in Spain. Thank you for the giveaway.

  • Oh wow, this sounds so intoxicatingly different. I love the work of Antoine Lie and to hear this one referred to as a more sophisticated take on something like Rien really excites me. I am quite intrigued by the hay and leather combo, especially against a backdrop of myrrh and resins. I love Russian Tea with all its smoky nuances, and I would say that it is probably my current favorite from the house. However, its possible that this one might dethrone it. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • I’m a fan of Antoine Lie’s work – Œillères is stunning. Ribot seems to share some aspects, but the saltiness you mention makes me curious! My favourite from Masque is the Vetiver study Hemingway, with Russian Tea following. I’d love to win this to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • Follow up comment : I beg your pardon, that was my bad. How could I?
From Antoine Lie I love and own two Eris scents, Scorpio Rising and Mxxx. while my wife adores her Vanille Havane. –

  • The animalic, horse-like essence really strikes me, it sounds very unique. I don’t have a favorite from Masque Milano because I never tried this house. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • Oh my goodness does this sound incredible! Masque Milano, horsey smells and Antoine Lie are 3 of my favorite things and that green bottle is STUNNING! I’ve only smelled 2 MM creations and Montecristo really grabbed me. Hope to try tbis even if I don’t win. RIP Allesandro. I’m in Brooklyn, NY.

  • Dubaiscents says:

Thank you for such an evocative review J! I have been really curious about this one as an avid fan of the brand and lover of horses. I love that Lie incorporated the atmosphere of the racecourse and nearby sea with the scent of hay and animalic horses. I am sure this is magical and I would love to add a bottle to my collection. It is difficult to choose my favorite Masque Milano scent but, I love my first from the house, Russian Tea. US

  • First of all my condolences to the friends and family of Alessandro Brun. My thoughts are with them.
Masque Milano has been on my radar and I’ve sampled a few such as Madeleine and Petra but still need to nose dive in.
This sounds lovely and the equestrian theme is exciting especially executed by Antoine Lie. I’m going to seek this out to try for sure! Marit the Netherlands

  • I’m a fan and my all time favorite from Masque Milano is Tango. I love the picture of Ribot. The new bottles look beautiful. I do enjoy unique unisex fragrances, especially resinous ones. The Myrrh oil from Somalia in Ribot caught my attention. Michigan USA

  • roxhas1cat says:

Some of these notes are more on the “rustic” side. I like that it is sophisticated and opulent. What a gorgeous and majestic horse. What a beautiful bottle, love the color. Wish Allesandro had been able to see the reaction to this at Esxence. RIP. My favorite of the line is Lost Alice. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • You had me at Hay, which is one of my all-time most sought out notes, but the leather aspects and blending just sound fabulous! I also love that bottle! I live in the USA.

  • Animalic and green? Sign me up! I’m afraid I don’t have a favorite Masque Milano fragrance…though Russian Tea has long been on my to-sample list. I’m in Oklahoma, USA.

  • Masque Milano always seems to pick such unique inspiration, and really this is even more unique if you ask me. What an unusual muse. In maryland,

  • Over the past few months I began exploring Masque Milano, first getting, and enjoying Russian Tea and Homage to Hemingway. I recently purchased a bottle of White Whale to enjoy once the weather begins to warm. The description of the green notes mixing with the animalics make this sound interesting. It’s something that I hope to try in the future. I’m located in NY State.

  • I was so saddened to hear about Alessandros passing. That was so devastating. But we will smell his fragrances and forever be reminded of him.
The new release sounds great. A more sophisticated Rien (which I love, but I find a bit hard to wear)? I’m interested, and I really like the sounds of this one! Of course, as a huge fan of Masque Milano I have to sample the new release. My favorite is fragrance from the brand is Mandala with Ray-Flection in close second. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • So this note of hay that’s being is very intriguing to me. As a country boy I m use to the smell of hay so to herar about it being in a fragrance has me interested.

My favorite Masque Milano is Tango.

What an evocative review! I could taste the sea salt and hay. I love hay as a fragrance note and so I’m so interested in this fragrance. I love learning the connections between inspiration and fragrance. I have not tested any Masque Milano fragrances yet. Thank you for the draw and beautiful review. From the USA.

  • Ooooh, I adore Masque Milano and Ribot seems to offer a compelling olfactory experience for several reasons:

Innovative Concept: Masque Milano Ribot appears to challenge traditional fragrance norms by incorporating unconventional notes and compositions. This departure from the mainstream suggests a willingness to push boundaries and explore new olfactory territories.

Artistic Collaboration: The collaboration between Masque Milano and the creative minds behind Ribot adds an intriguing layer to the fragrance’s narrative. This suggests a fusion of artistic visions, potentially resulting in a scent that is both avant-garde and thought-provoking.

Sensory Exploration: The review describes Ribot as a fragrance that invites the wearer on a journey through different olfactory landscapes, from the freshness of bergamot to the warmth of tobacco. This suggests a multi-dimensional scent experience that evolves over time, engaging the senses and evoking emotions.

Historical Inspiration: The fragrance’s inspiration from the Italian jazz musician Renato “Ribot” Bianucci adds depth and richness to its story. By drawing from Bianucci’s persona and era, Ribot may capture a particular mood or atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era, appealing to those with an appreciation for nostalgia and history.

Complex Composition: The mention of Ribot’s complex composition, with its interplay of contrasting notes like leather, tobacco, and spices, suggests a fragrance that is dynamic and layered. This complexity may intrigue individuals seeking fragrances with depth and character, offering something new to discover with each wear.

Overall, Masque Milano Ribot appears to be an intriguing fragrance that combines innovation, artistry, and sensory exploration to create a unique olfactory experience. Also, Lie’s interpretation of Ribot’s inspiration—Italian jazz musician Renato “Ribot” Bianucci—could offer a fresh perspective on the fragrance’s narrative. His ability to translate abstract concepts or emotions into scent may result in a fragrance that captures the essence of Bianucci’s persona and era in a compelling way.

  • This heartfelt tribute to Alessandro Brun beautifully encapsulates the essence of Ribot by Masque Milano. The fragrance seems to evoke a journey filled with memories and sensations, reminiscent of the vibrancy of a racecourse morning. The combination of notes, including the invigorating pink pepper, luxurious leather, and enchanting myrrh, paints a picture of elegance and sophistication.

As a lover of incense and aldehydic fragrances, I can’t help but draw parallels to Rien by Etat Libre d’Orange, a personal favorite of mine. While both fragrances share certain elements, Ribot exudes a unique air of opulence and refinement, akin to a wealthy cousin riding out from their grand estate. It’s a testament to Antoine Lie’s mastery in perfumery, infusing Ribot with a contemporary twist that elevates it to a realm of quiet luxury.

The description of Ribot’s composition, particularly the interplay of leather, herbal greens, and animalic allure, paints a vivid olfactory experience that I find incredibly captivating. It’s a fragrance that seems to resonate with personal memories and experiences, much like the reviewer’s connection to racecourses and the sea.

Overall, Ribot appears to be a masterpiece that not only pays homage to Alessandro Brun’s legacy but also stands as a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of Masque Milano. It’s a scent that exudes sensuality, control, and above all, a sense of quiet luxury that lingers in the air like a cherished memory.

I’m sad to hear about Alessandro Brun’s passing…
White Whale is my favorite Masque Milano perfume. I haven’t tried many of them, though… and I’ve been wanting to do so for some time now. Ribot sounds supremely sophisticated and I am interested in the mix of myrrh (one of my favorite notes), jasmine and leather, in Antoine Lie’s vision. Writing from Romania

  • Wow! Gorgeous review, and the components scream opulence. I’d love to get a chance to try this one and channel my inner stable owner, ha! I also really love clary sage as a note. I don’t have a favorite Masque Milano, I haven’t been lucky enough to try them yet. I’m in the US.

  • ericwaynebiscuit says:

I am still uninitiated to the world of Masque Milano, but Ribot sounds like such an interesting starting point to experience the brand! I am often enamored with a horse-themed fragrance–many of Maison D’etto’s (Macanudo and Canaan are my faves) and Parfum D’Empire’s Ruade are all so intoxicating to me!

    In Virginia, USA.

  • I had the chance of smelling a preview of ribot at esxcence 2023, and I was stunned by the beauty of the composition.
Manny fragrances by Masque are beautiful: my favourite is beloved L’Attesa
I live in Italy. Thanks for the draw!

  • Ramses Perez says:

This bottle is just gorgeous. I, myself, don’t mind a bit of animatic notes on fragrances as it often times gives them a certain depth and dense-ness that airy fragrances lack. The leather/benzoin combo works wonderfully too as I know other fragrances that have this combo and it is to die for. I have never lived near a racecourse but I’m familiar with the smell and the aromas of the early morning, this sounds like a very interesting reference. Cheers from the US

  • Masque Milano is one of the best Italian brands to me, that I am from Italy. I owned Lost alice, Rayflection, Luci ed ombre. I can’t go for one only. Also, I love their line Milano Fragranze too – Basilica it’s somehow struggling! I’d love to put my nose on Ribot now! I’m from EU.

  • Wow, the description of Ribot by Masque Milano is absolutely intriguing. As a fan of Antoine Lie’s creations, the idea of a more refined interpretation akin to Rien is fascinating. The blend of hay and leather, set against a backdrop of myrrh and resins, sounds captivating. While Russian Tea with its smoky notes currently holds my favor from the house, Ribot has the potential to surpass it. Wishing everyone involved the best of luck. Warm regards from Goussainville, France.

  • extremetraveler says:

Memory Eternal Alessandro Brun, and condolences to those who loved him.
I would be amiss not to mention Russian Tea, but I am an old sea-farer trapped inland, and so Hemingway became my signature escape from the house. I need to embrace my fate, and so a touch a sophisticated green, with the smell of hay and a bit of barnyard, is probably more fitting for me.
    Oklahoma, USA

  • First of all, rest in peace Alessandro Brun and my deepest condolences to his family.
What intrigues me the most regarding Ribot is the fact it’s described as deeply animalic, yet opulent and elegant at the same time. I found it interesting that myrrh, jasmine and leather have been used to create this animalic effect – what an interesting trio! As well as hay being another central character of this blend.
    I live in the EU.

  • I’m not very familiar with overtly animalic fragrances but I love that the inspiration behind Masque Milano Ribot is a majestic horse. The leather and hay elements are nice touches and I always appreciate an indolic jasmine to bring some sensuality. I’m in the US.

  • emorandeira says:

Must begin saying that I LOVE Antoine Lie Work. And J makes a very good job describing this fragrance. I LOVE also the bottle It is really nice. And the scent, with this Green vibes, must be amazing. I look forward for trying it. MY favourite from Masque Milano IS Times square. Commenting from Spain. BEST regards to all!

  • The description of Ribot by Masque Milano, accompanied by the heartfelt tribute to Alessandro Brun, is both poignant and captivating. As an enthusiast of fragrances, I find myself drawn to the allure of Ribot, which seems to promise a sensory journey unlike any other.
The imagery painted by the reviewer, depicting the vibrant atmosphere of a racecourse morning and the opulence of its surroundings, sparks my curiosity and ignites my imagination. It’s a fragrance that appears to transcend mere scent, offering a narrative woven with elements of luxury, sophistication, and perhaps a hint of adventure.
I’m intrigued by the interplay of notes in Ribot’s composition and the craftsmanship evident in its creation. Masque Milano’s dedication to honoring Alessandro Brun’s legacy through this fragrance speaks volumes about their commitment to the artistry of perfumery.

  • R.I.P Alessandro Brun, a man who left us too early.

This sounds lovely, and I would love to add it to my collection. “Ribot exudes a quiet yet commanding power, much like standing near a majestic horse. Its presence is undeniably powerful, exuding sensuality and control.” This part especially has me intrigued. Recently I have discovered my love for animalics, and this has a sophisticated edge to it which I would love to experience. I have not tried anything from this house before, but this would be a grand first impression, no doubt.

    I live in Sweden, EU.

  • Thank you for the tribute and information about Brun’s work. Also, appreciate the detailed review, including J’s comments about their childhood in Ireland. I like how they broke down the accords and how they’re reminiscent of various aspects of this perfume’s equestrian theme. I’m particularly intrigued by the realistic, textured hay note, especially alongside some mineral seaside breeze, and Ribot uses animalic notes in some thematic ways. Great review.

I’m in the USA. I haven’t tried any Masque Milano fragrancesm but I recall reading about White Whale here.

The blend of vibrant pink pepper, luxurious leather, and earthy hay notes creates a sensory journey reminiscent of the powerful presence of a racehorse, intertwined with elements of sophistication and opulence. • J’s review of Masque Milano Ribot strikes me with its vivid and evocative description, transporting the reader to the vibrant atmosphere of a racecourse morning in Deauville, Normandy. The intricate blend of notes, from the wild and electrifying spiciness of pink pepper to the luxurious aura of saffron-rich leather, creates a sensory experience that captures the essence of horse racing and the surrounding environment. The attention to detail in Antoine Lie’s composition, particularly in the portrayal of hay and animalic elements, adds depth and complexity, making Ribot a truly captivating fragrance. I haven`t tried anything by Masque Milano unfortunately yet.

  • What strikes me is how bold the brand is to launch ribot as the headliner of the emerald line, I doubt many people would want to smell like horse or anything remotely but they went with it any way that takes guts.

I’m a fan of sleight of fern from the brand and I’m the UK

  • I would love to win this perfume because I have never encountered an Antoine Lie perfume that I fell in love with but I love the scent of hay, stable, horse and the Masque Milano brand. Love to have this one in my collection, wonderful review.

  • Alessandro Brun and Riccardo Tedeschi made history with Masque Milano , and after we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Alessandro Brun I hope the brand will continue to evolve while keeping his legacy vivid.
Antoine Lee fused some daring and cozy elements in Ribot , the velvety leather, rosemary and hay , with subtle sweet resins and smoke , like J Wearescentient said “remarkable olfactory experience” . I enjoy being near to horses but I wouldn’t dare riding a horse myself .
L’attesa is the best Masque Milano . Buttery and creamy iris fragrance I own

  • The Grand Cru extracts in the hands of Antoine Lie are certain to be amazing. My favorite Masque Milano fragrance is Tango. I live in California. thank you for the draw.

  • This sounds amazing! I was not aware that Masque Milano had a more austere Emerald Collection. I don’t know if it’s the article regarding the horse racing track, or the leather and hay, but this was giving me vibes of Guerlain Derby which is one of my favorite fragrances. Except this has jasmine instead of the carnation note. My favorite Masque Milano is Hemingway and Sleight of Fern. Thank you for the draw!! In the US.

  • Alessandro Brun’s passing was so sad. I’ve been a longtime fan of Masque Milano. I’m curious to try the new Emerald line. I didn’t know about Ribot’s connection to the horse. Thanks to you and Masque Milano for offering this giveaway.

  • This sounds lovely! I have not tried any of their perfumes before, but the combination of hay, leather, jasmine, and coumarin sounds heady indeed, and the bottle is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, and hello from Colorado, USA!

Big time YES to uniqueness , upscale indie perfumery, daring approaches and aesthetics.
I especially like how J Wearescentient spoke of Masque Milano Ribot racing horses connection , and the wild Irish Sea immersive experience he had with the fragrance. Everything in the fragrance i find rich, daring but also inviting at the same time.
The waxy, luxury leather and hay like aspects, together with round vanilla sweetness make Ribot so sophisticated and opulent.
My favorite Masque Milano is called Russian Tea
    Thanks a bunch

Grandpa used to love going to the racecourse , and took me to a lot races with him. I remember learning about Ribot (the racehorse) from him .
Ribot fragrance story told us , turned back time for me , I wonder if I spray the fragrance on my skin I would feel the same way … thinking about those days as a kid and teenager ..
The combination of racecourse feeling, with hay, leather, gras and sweetness is definitely inspired by the legendary racehorse .
Russian Tea and Tango are my favorite Masque Milano fragrances, I slightly prefer Tango.
    Nostalgic giveaway, USA

  • L’attesa is fantastic iris fragrance I own, and , and if such connoisseur like J wearescentient is found of Ribot I’m convinced the fragrance is really good. More natural, and less artificial smell is always a plus
I’d like to win Immortal Ribot due to stunning tasty leather , jasmine , amber , hint of darkness , and opulence and like J wearescentient said “commanding power” aura.
It has been a pleasure learning about Emerald Collection and Ribot , I’m a fan of such bold creations.
    Much obliged

I’m curious about what kind experience it is to watch live horse racing , never been to such event myself, sounds quite exciting.
Otherwise Ribot is a captivating fragrance , herbal, green and slightly sweet, but mostly leaning on the leather overall experience.
The thickness , natural ingredients , the daring perfumer too , i find to be Ribot most appealing features , not to mention the dark aspect..
I’m in possession of Tango , superb quality amber fragrance.
Thank you J for the review ,and of course Masque Milano for the generosity

  • Alessandro Brun will be deeply missed, no doubt, hopefully the brand will continue to deliver sophisticated and innovative fragrances in the future. Horseback riding is a hobby of mine, not as competitive sport of course but more to relax once a week.
I like rich leather fragrances with a bit of subtle funk , and I’m also glad Ribot is not straight dirty but gentle, mineralic and even just a bit sweet instead.
No need to ask what’s my favorite Masque Milano fragrance is , I could be wrong but a lot of people will give the same answer like me – L’Attesa of course. I could be biased towards this beauty, but hey … it is what it is.
    Thanks to all involved

  • Like a lot of other brands, Neela Vermeire Creations for example i also discovered Masque Milano while watching Redolessence videos. He spoke highly of Russian Tea, and after sampling i bought a bottle soon after.
To my understanding Emerald Collection is more exquisite line compared to the one Russian Tea is in , no wonder J Wearescentient is so overwhelmed with Ribot, the fragrance captivated his senses and touched him on a personal level , because of wild energy ,Dublin and galloping horses .
I wonder how the leather, darkness and the round vanilla sweetness would work together in Ribot , unique experience if I have to guess.
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

I was so sad when I found out Alessandro Brun left us ,I hope he’s in a better place right now. Undoubtedly he’s legacy lives on, he’s approach to the industry, other than the fragrances, his positivity and charisma shall not be forgotten.
I’m familiar with all Masque Milano fragrances excluding the latest editions shown to the public at Esxence 2024. If I have to rate my favorite ones, hard task but still:
    1. Russian Tea Oud/Russian Tea
    2. Love Kills Oud
    3. L’Atessa
My opinion on Ribot is quite similar to what J Wearescentient is getting, still not exactly the same. I can see the Rien by Etat Libre d’Orange comparison, after all both are composed by Antoine Lee but Ribot to my taste is classes above. The leather in Ribot to me is just a bit funky but nowhere near animalic , jasmine is there thankfully not a carnal type , and more in the background.
The best part of the fragrance in my opinion is the drydown, the leather, resins and the dry hay accords are so well blended, the aroma is not butch but refined and cozy. It could be a hidden note, or it’s my body chemistry but I clearly smell chocolaty patchouli in the drydown, again in the background but it’s there.
All profiles I already follow, @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • Masque Milano Ribot is rather daring fragrance , created with the intention of making the wearer feel like he/she is at the Racecourse in Deauville in Normandy, in the middle of neck to neck horse racing. I’m not familiar with Masque Milano, never been at a racecourse myself or even watched horse racing, basically everything J wearescentient wrote is new to me.
Powerful and novelty leather fragrance, with dark sweetness layers , I don’t think I’ve smelled anything like that before. I now know Ribot exudes confidence applying unique contemporary twists , the part of J wearescentient review i like the most

  • I was not aware horses are still vital part of Dublin’s fabric, I mean last time I visited the city 6-7 years ago there was a big uproar from all kinds of organizations for banning kids of not just galloping, but even owning horses. I guess it never happened ,thanks J.
I like how there’s nothing overwhelming in Ribot, the fragrance is harmonious with the right amounts of leather, green notes ,musk and magical dark vanilla.
Masque Milano Russian Tea is one of a kind dark , smoky and fruity tea fragrance , and my favorite Masque Milano.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • Masque Milano Ribot feels a fragrance following the events of Seabiscuit movie with Tobey Maguire and Jeff Bridges. The way J wearescentient wrote of Ribot and how if conjures the atmosphere of Deauville racecourse matches the riveting race sequences and emphasis on the strength of the human-horse connection in Seabiscuit, both captures the essence of what makes horse racing such an exhilarating and emotive sport. The movie and the fragrance do stand as a poignant reminder of how horse racing transcends mere sport and becomes a symbol of hope and resilience for everyone involved.
Exceptional encounter , winning Ribot would be great
Lost Alice i bought for the second time last week, this time in 100ml

Masque Milano is one of my favorite fragrance brands and leather is one of my favorite notes , so Ribot checks all the boxes.
The luxurious leather, fatty richness and the resins in the drydown are the most attractive parts of the fragrance, together with premium quality ingredients and green Emerald kind of bottle.
Tango is my N1 , I’m also in the possession of Times Square, Russian Tea and Madeleine
