Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit (Marie Duchene) 2024 + Twas the Night Before Christmas Giveaway

Vanille De Minuit by Maison Tahite

Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit via the brand

At the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve, after the children’s laughter fade as they slip into slumber, and their dreams take flight; anything goes- for the adults- after months of Dear Santa letters and preparations for this night. Imagine the air thick with scents and excitement of the season. In the dim light of the fireplace and Christmas tree, adults gather around to share nostalgic memories and have a toast.  They exchange tales of Christmases past, family traditions, and memorable moments that shaped their lives. Laughter and heartfelt anecdotes float through the air, creating memories flush with love and affection.

Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit (Midnight Vanilla)opens with a bold, daring leather that struts into the scene filled with swagger and confidence; it is a leather that declares strength and sophistication, mixed in with a softer suede accord, ready to captivate the senses!  Sandalwood adds a creamy, velvety touch as it joins the party, bringing forth a sensual depth that makes hearts flutter.

But oh, what happens at the heart of Vanille De Minuit is an irresistible and delish vanilla note, playfully extending its tendrils into a realm of spices, creating an instant vibe that is almost impossible to resist. The zing of saffron and the mix with the leather add a balsamic touch. It’s not at all sweet but relatively intense. It takes time to let go of the leather intensity, and once it does, oh, my.

As we glide deeper into this wonderland, the warm caress of benzoin conjures inviting images from the past. Each of the notes of Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit swirl playfully around each other,  giving this fragrance sophistication, cozy warmth, complexity, and satisfying richness.

Each day I see more fragrances with the leather/saffron/vanilla combo and after smelling a few of them (not this one), the combo really works. It’s a subtle sweetness with a lingering power for hours! And yes, ‘‘twas the night before Christmas indeed because the combo is perfect for the holiday season. It’s elegant, sophisticated and not overly sweet so you won’t get confused for a pastry. Vanilla de Minuit translates to Midnight Vanilla and this is the type of fragrance you want to wear to welcome the following day: cozy and comforting. Maison Tahité is really catching on to the new trends quicker than other houses and I can’t wait to see where they take their next fragrances to. I’m located in the USA and happy holidays!

  • maison tahite vanille de minuit sounds amazing, based on Sandi’s review and the smell notes it sounds amazing, just like a striking winter night at the cabin by the fireplace, the unique saffron, vanilla and leather mix sounds cozy and incredible.

  • All these vanilla centered fragrances I have yet to try! They all sound magical. I love a good saffron and benzoin vanilla. Thank you for the generous giveaway. I am in the USA.

  • Merry Christmas Cafleurebon. Big fan of Maison Tahite and bought a bottle of Van2. I love the idea of saffron, leather and benzoin so Vanille de Minuit must be warm and cosy but not too sweet. Seems like a guy can wear this no problem.

  • Vanille de Minuit by Maison Tahité is a warm and sweet fragrance centered around vanilla. It feels cozy, indeed like a soft blanket on a cool night under the Christmas tree. There’s a gentle hint of spice that keeps it from being too sugary.
    Merry Christmas from EU!

  • this review really paints a magical picture of Vanille De Minuit! I’m so intrigued by the mix of bold leather and that playful, intense vanilla with a touch of saffron—it sounds like such a unique balance between sophistication and cozy warmth. The idea of it evolving from swaggering leather to rich, inviting vanilla makes me want to experience that transformation firsthand. Perfect for a cold winter night by the fire!

  • I’m so glad to see you review this perfume! I was just reading about it on Luckyscent. I think Maison Tahite does such a fantastic job reinterpreting gourmands so that they remain both thought provoking and addictive. A comforting vanillic leather is always a delight in the wintertime and I love their addition of both saffron and Nagarmotha. I live in the US ☺️

  • Forever hunting for a vanilla that will change my tune towards vanilla! Sandy really set the stage for Vanille De Minuit… an image evoking the amoebic nature that vanilla can be when cradled by bossier notes and accords of the leather and nagarmotha persuasion. But still staying true to it’s unwavering nature to envelope you in a warm hug. I can’t wait to smell this.

  • Vanilla de Minuit is a sophisticated fragrance that induces a snug, cosy feeling similar that emulates exactly what is felt from the embrace of a warm blanket and the crackling of a fireplace during a cold Christmas Eve. The classic coalescence of sandalwood, leather and vanilla emphasises the theme of warmth and Christmas comfort. It also conveys sweetness, perhaps to partner the experience of a family reunion or an aching hit of nostalgia as December approaches. It all seems quite familiar. The spiciness is what gives the scent its distinctive kick that caps off the idea of a cosy Christmas. I must say, this blend of notes is absolutely exceptional and tells a riveting story without a single word. Fragrances like this are hard to come by but bring so much excitement when they do. Greece, EU.

  • I love a good vanilla fragrance. The notes playing together to give this fragrance sophistication, cozy warmth, complexity, and satisfying richness makes the perfect for winter fragrance.

  • The layers of sandalwood, saffron, and benzoin add richness and complexity, making it a memorable and evolving fragrance and that sparks my interest. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • I had the pleasure of sampling this one just yesterday and I was left with my jaw on the floor. This is the vanilla of my dreams – a dark, seductive, leather tinged vanilla kissed with wisps of smoke. It reminds me of something John Pegg might have created for Kerosene several years ago when he was in his smoky/woody phase. The vanilla and benzoin combo is wonderfully rich, but to me the leather and nagarmotha step in to steal the show. I was absolutely enamored. I admit I have thuds far skipped this house as they seem very gourmand-focused, and I’m not particularly keen on that genre. However, I do love their sister house, Laboratorio Olfattivo, who make three of my favorite vanillas (Vanagloria, Vanhera, and Tonkade), and now I simply must dive further into their scents. I’d be honored to win, but if not I’ll surely be adding this to my short list of scents to pick up. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

The combination of leather, sandalwood, vanilla and saffron sounds warm and cozy!! Vanilla fragrances have taken center stage as of late and this sounds like an incredible one!! I live in Chicago. Merry Christmas to all that celebrate.

  • It is actually Christmas Eve as I read this and yup, that description is pretty much what we had with a lovely get together, just now ended as we all go our separate ways for bed. Christmas Eve is a magic night . I adore non-sweet vanilla, and the description here sounds pretty magic too! I live in the US.

  • AromaDulce73 says:

So cool as I’m reading this on Christmas Eve. This is something I would like to get my nose on and possibly add to my collection.

What got my attention was when Sandi describes the heart of the fragrance with that vanilla note which I love. I’m guessing when you mix in leather & suede from the top notes it comes off a bit spicey. I could be wrong.

All of the Cafleurebon reviews of late have been right up my alley as far as the scent profiles go. This one is no exception. Vanilla and leather, oh my. I’d love to smell this on skin and I’m more than satisfied with a tester bottle. This one is going on my ever growing list. I live in Oregon.

  • The fragrance sounds imprccable, the vanilla and saffron combo is just as striking as the oncoming holidays, the smell sounds amazing, would love to try it

  • This is definitely the time of year for gourmand scents. My son has recently discovered the wonderful world of niche perfumes, and has begged me to start building a collection for him. Vanille De Minuit would suit him perfectly as the first of many, with its sweet, comforting notes of saffron and vanilla.

    Warm greetings from Portugal/EU

  • What a lovely review from Sandi. In my head there’s a unisex wearable rather soft leather fragrance. Like Sugar Leather, only less sweet and without cinnamon.
Would be very happy to win Vanille de Minuit. I’m from the EU

  • Vanille de Minuit is not the usual vanilla, the spicy vanilla together with leather and saffron really “transforms any night into an extraordinary memory”. An unforgettable perfume that I smelled in a shop on Milan

  • Roberto perfume master says:

Vanille de Minuit by Maison Tahité is a sophisticated and enveloping fragrance, perfect for lovers of complex vanillas. It opens with a velvety combination of suede and sandalwood, giving a warm and refined character. The vanilla in the heart is intense yet balanced by the exotic spices of saffron and nagarmotha, adding an intriguing and mysterious touch. The base, with benzoin and vanilla, leaves a persistent and seductive trail.
It is an elegant and versatile fragrance, ideal for special evenings or for those seeking a non-trivial vanilla. I definitely want to try it and thank you for the opportunity!

  • I’m not a fan of sugary sweet vanilla fragrances so Vanille de Minuet is right in my wheelhouse. The combination of vanilla with a swaggering leather and suede accord toughens it up and lends it sophistication. The sandalwood adds so,e creaminess and the saffron gives an interesting twist of spice. This is a vanilla fragrance for grown ups. MD, USA

  • This is a hard one for me because I’ve lost three close
Members of my family in the last
Three years. I feel bereft of this feeling this year and funny enough I’m always
Attracted to vanilla fragrances . I miss the holidays we used to have and all
These things —- anyway . Merry to all thank you

  • Happy Holidays to everyone!
Thanks for this nice opportunity as Vanille de Minuit sounds lovely, a festive fragrance perfect for celebrating happiness together with the loved ones.

  • Thank you Sandi for such a lovely review of this fragrance! Your description of Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit perfectly captures the magic of a quiet, warm and cozy Christmas Eve. Winter is my favorite season, and these deep dark decadent fragrances always have my heart. Vanilla, saffron, sandalwood and benzoin are all notes that I favor. Happy Holidays from the Northeast USA!

Great review! I love vanilla combined with leather. The addition of saffron sounds like this would be ideal this time of year. I also appreciate a suede accord which the review states is noticeable here. I just adore vanilla in the winter. Thank you for the draw. From the US.

  • Minna Scholten says:

This was such a compelling review! For me, it painted a picture of the vibe that Vanille de Minuit invites- charismatic, deep, and comfortable. That sounds excellent, plus I love saffron. This review also prompted me to go read a bit about nagarmotha and benzoin and I loved learning about these materials. Thanks for this great write up! I’m in the USA.

  • This sounds wonderful, I would love to have a vanilla that is not just sweetness. The memories of Christmases past also recommends it. That you for the generous draw and wonderfully evocative review. I’m in the states.

  • The notes do seem interesting and I do think and agree that they give sophistication, cozy warmth, complexity, and satisfying richness to this fragrance. Thanks for the giveaway! EU

    Happy Holidays everybody!
I love vanilla fragrances but I have never tried any frags from Maison Tahite. Vanille De Minuit sounds a really lovely, sophisticated & comforting vanilla leather scent and I can imagine it wearing it in a very cold night by the fireplace while drinking a cup of hot chocolate.
Best of luck to all. I live in Germany EU

  • Leather is a note I’m looking to explore more. In a world of sometimes overly sweet gourmand vanillas I love discovering more “savory” vanillas. Vanille de Minuit by Maison Tahité as described above seems to fit this category. USA

  • I love the concept of Maison Tahité’s Vanilla de Minuit, as I am a fan of vanilla-centric fragrances that evoke warmth and elegance. The idea of blending classic vanilla with unexpected notes intrigues me, and I’d be thrilled to experience the artistry of Marie Duchêne through this creation. Thank you for this generous opportunity, and happy holidays to everyone at ÇaFleureBon!

  • This is my second comment because apparently I don’t read instructions. I live in NY, US. I love to smell any complex vanilla , especially one that will make things feel magical and not like a giant cookie . This sounds interesting!

  • I love how the description captures the depth and complexity of the fragrance, using rich language that evokes emotions and vivid imagery. It feels personal, almost like sharing an intimate scent experience.

  • A creamy mix of sandalwood, saffron, vanilla, and spice seems tailor-made for cold weather fragrances. I like that Maison Tahite Vanille De Minuit introduces that core accord with a bold leather, and the whole composition avoids being too sweet, letting the materials shine without masking their complexity.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I love the description! It takes you on a journey through the different notes. Very intriguing! I would love to experience this fragrance!

  • maison tahite vanille de minuit sounds amazing, love the notes saffron, leather and benzoin. Such a cozy warm gourmand, perfect for cool weather. USA

  • foreverscents says:

I love that there is a soft leather note in Vanille de Minuit. That sounds daring, and a nice contrast to the warmth from the benzoin and vanilla notes. Sandi’s reviews always paint the most evocative and sensual images. I would love to wear this one on a cold winter night.
    I live in the USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you for the nice writeup.
Loved seeing the use of saffron in a winter time fragrance along with the benzoin and vanilla to create a balsamic effect.

I’m curious to know what the Daim accord is?

  • I’m reading in the US and I’m totally entranced—leather, saffron, vanilla, benzoin is like a list of my favorite notes! Would love a bottle.
