Maison Tahite VaneXstasy Review (Lucien Ferrero) 2021 + Caramel Parfait Giveaway

Maison Tahite VaneXstasy review

How we choose to delight our senses is purely our choice. Ever since the edible ingredients made their way into our fragrances, thanks to Olivier Cresp and Yves de Chiris and their 1992 gourmand masterpiece Thierry Mugler Angel, we can indulge our taste buds without taking a single bite out of a cake. I find it even more satisfactory at times, simply because the time it takes to devour a piece of chocolate Valrhona or caramel parfait is inevitably shorter than indulging in a fragrance that smells like it for hours.

Maison Tahite Vanexstasy was inspired by an enchanting trip to Jaipur, the city in Rajasthan, immersed in the millennia-old scents of vanilla absolute and the precious sensuality of sandalwood. A composition is rich in natural and precious ingredients. Jaipur and its buildings are predominantly rose-colored, and it is often referred to as the “pink city”, surrounded by fertile alluvial plains to the east and garnet deposits in the south. It was painted pink under the rule of Sawai Ram Singh, traditionally a color associated with hospitality, for the grand welcome of Edward, Prince of Wales.

VaneXstasy is exactly like a bite of a chocolate parfait, covered in caramel sauce and topped with whipped coconut cream. It’s a perfect dessert to dig into as you sit on the terrace, overlooking the beautiful pink-colored sunset of the city, known for its precious jewelry, delicious cuisine, and handcrafted rich textiles.

Woven around the second most expensive ingredient in the world, vanilla, hence the name, Maison Tahite VaneXstasy highlights the playfulness of its sweetness without any hints of darkness, or spiciness This is a flirtatious encounter with zero strings attached. It is lighthearted, mischievous, and relatable and doesn’t call for a special occasion or approach. As a vast vanilla lover, I have numerous takes on it, from ultra-creamy and floral to dark and smoky. Always a courageous adventurer into different interpretations of vanilla, I was pleasantly surprised to find VaneXstasy effortlessly filling a particular gap; it feels almost fruity, hence lacking any suggestion of fruit accord in the notes. There is a berry-like tartness in the fragrance’s heart, and I picture a drizzle of raspberry syrup, like drops of the beautiful garnet Jaipur is known for.  As the scent develops, it doesn’t particularly change much but there is a balsamic richness that starts to peek through, warm and sensual, adding depth to the  composition.

VaneXstasy is pure hedonism, and it’s worth every bite. There is a light mousse texture to the composition, and even though the ingredients are all quite heavy and rich, Lucien Ferrero manages to blend this so that your palette does not get overwhelmed. Each element in this perfume is layered upon as you would make a perfectly fluffy parfait, lusciously creamy, with deep vanilla flavor, with sandalwood and cedarwood sprinkled on top. I invite you to dig in and enjoy every last bite, spritz.

Notes: Coconut milk, Caramel accord, Vanilla absolute, Balsam, Sandalwood, Cedarwood

  • The descriptive words of “pure hedonism” you don’t see often regarding perfume. So yeah, that struck me. US

  • This sounds absolutely delicious! I love gourmand fragrances! Please count me in for this one! Thanks! Europe

  • This is a real foodie, and I love the enriching details and efforts put into the scent formulation to avoid the cloyingness of most foodies. I would love to try this one!

    From USA.

  • I never really considered the possibility to replace the cravings for sweets (oh, yes I’m a sweet tooth person unfortunately, haha) with a perfume. I definitely should try. Fluffy, deep and creamy sounds like something magical.

Creamy coconut, caramel and vanilla? Sign me up! Sweet ecstasy is the name of the game. Amazing review, thank you for the opportunity! From Romania, EU.

  • Coconut and caramel notes are my gorlfriends favourites notes in a fragrance. This fragrance just sounds like a treat, a delicious one. Loved thw review but now i am going to order some dessert because of it. I am from EU

  • Mirea Luca says:

Incredible review! How beautiful you ve drawn the smell of this fragrance. I ve seen that the note of coconut are not everyone s cup of tea, but i consider it to be clean, fresh but a little playfull so i love it. And that vanilla bomb… Thank you for the opportunity! I live in Romania, EU

I felt absorted reading Olyas review. It is just amazing. I LOVE the comparison with the hedonism and how she introduces the aparison of the vanilla in the perfume .
I really would like to try VaneXTasy! Writing from Spain EU.

  • I want to try any perfume that smells like a “bite of a chocolate parfait, covered in caramel sauce and topped with whipped coconut cream.” Yum! Maison Tahite has given us some unique and beautiful gourmands (I own Cacao2 and am still addicted to it). It sounds like VaneXstasy is another hit. I would love to add a bottle to my collection. ~Indiana, USA

At a time when travel is not so easy this sounds like a journey in a bottle! 🙂

  • Fluffy parfait and deep vanilla stands out most to me. I have been obsessed with vanilla fragrances for close to 30 years…to me there is nothing that compares to a good vanilla perfume. Would love to have a bottle of this. I am in NY. Thank you!

  • Who doesn’t love a good old vanilla now and then? I also definitely enjoy vanillas which sit right in the middle of possibilities, without going either too dark, heavy or extreme, or too juvenile and tooth-achingly sweet. This palatable vanilla-caramel combo which manages not to become overwhelming sounds delicious.

Wonderful review Olya! I love that Maison Tahite combines vanilla with a visit to Rajasthan. I’ve been meaning to explore more of this line after their delicious cacao releases. Love your pictures as well! US

  • Maison Tahite Vanexstasy looks like an interesting gourmand fragrance, inspired by Jaipur. The inclusion of vanilla and sandalwood does seem to give the composition a bit of oriental vibe. Thanks for the draw. I am in US.

  • ThunderB75 says:

Caramel? Check. Chocolate? Check. Coconut? Check. Sounds rich and creamy…without the calories. “It feels almost fruity”. Now that’s even better.

  • The parfait layers got me. I am interested to smell the caramel note in particular. Thanks, Olya! US

  • I bought van2 from Luckycent and love it. I have been eying this on indigo perfumery as well as vicious cacao
This sounds great I love vanilla

  • This reads as the ultimate gourmand, but it sounds as if there is a whole lot more depth and I especially like the addition of sandalwood into a gourmand structure. Thank you! I am in the US.

  • One of the things I found MOST interesting about Olya’s review was learning that vanilla is the second-most expensive ingredient in the world (behind rose?). I suppose that’s because vanilla is often though of as “plain”. However, those of us who have experienced well-executed vanillas know how complex and beautiful of an ingredient it truly is. VaneXstasy sounds absolutely indulgent. Being that I don’t really have a sweet tooth for food it is very ironic how much I love gourmand fragrances and scents (winter/fall candles are my favorite, cozy dirty little secrets). This one truly sounds like something that would be divine to wear and relish in. Thanks, as always, for the opportunity and cheers from Illinois, USA!

  • I’ve been interested in Maison Tahite since I first learned about the house here some time back. All of the vanilla fragrances sound different from eachother and I’ve wanted to lesrn about this one and Floranilla as well. Then I saw, here again they had a cacao collection but still, mainly was interested in the vanillas. What struck me about Olyas review is how gourmand this sounds, how she perceives a fruity raspberry type nuance even though no fruit is listed, and especially how she mentioned that even with all of the heavy notes the composition has a “light mousse texture”. Sounds delicious. Thanks for the generous giveaway, from CT USA.

  • Olya’s review of VaneXstasy is simply….delicious!!! When she said “chocolate parfait drizzled in caramel and topped with coconut whipped cream..i was literally salivating!!! I also thought it was really clever and nice how she paid homage to Jaipur being rich in gemstones when she described the raspberry swirl scent she detected in the perfume as being “drops of garnets”. I’m a gourmand addict- this perfume sounds like a SCRUMPTIOUS SCENT!!!! I’m in Indiana, USA

  • How could one not want to experience pure hedonism in a bottle? I love the name, VaneXstasy! How fitting! I am a huge fan of vanilla perfumes, and I love that there is a mousse texture to this perfume. I also love sandalwood and cedarwood. The bottle itself is divine!

Omg, look at the ingredients! This has my name all over it! Like Olya said, pure hedonism: luscious, creamy

  • This sounds scrumptious! I was struck by the description of vanilla as playful and flirtatious:) thank you for the review- writing from the EU.

  • Nice review, ingredient I love and in fact have many vanilla scents, but have never tried Maison Tahite. VaneXstasy looks like a “simple” fragrance but with a great power of seduction.

Waw, Olya, thank you for this experience!
This made me reconsider my opinion on sweets! I almost taste and smell the chocolate parfait and it was delicious.
Also, great information sprinkled through the sensorial party.
    Love it!

  • VaneXstasy is exactly like a bite of a chocolate parfait, covered in caramel sauce and topped with whipped coconut cream. Oh, c’mon…. Why do you do this to me Olya? Now I HAVE TO try it..
    Hungry hugs from EU.

  • This is a dangerous fragrance given it s nature. Or is this nature given by your wonderfull review! Vanilla absolute, coconut and caramel… Sounds like it would be a delight to wear this, and i would be a walking dessert. Thank you for this chance! Greetings from Romania!

  • This sounds beautifully delicious. I’m intrigued by the raspberry like fruitiness Olya describes. I’m a big fan of gourmand perfumes and this sounds really scrumptious. Marit EU

Olya you know I love your taste and reviews, always wonderful. I love Maison Tahité, have two so far and this one is next on my list! Such a beautiful description I can picture myself sitting eating a decadent dessert watching the sunset that sounds about perfect right now!! I like thinking of it like you said with sandalwood and cedarwood sprinkled on top of the vanilla. Thanks for the chance, I’m in NY, US

  • Those caramel parfaits look delicious! Olya’s mention that a gourmand perfume is sometimes better than eating a chocolate because the scent lasts much longer than the flavor is spot on. I really want to smell that raspberry bit. I am in the US.

  • Thanks Olya for this amazing and tasty review! Starting by the end of your post: “pure hedonism”, so how could I do not want to experience pure hedonism in a series of sniffs?. I was in Jaipur some time ago, unfortunately I didn´t know it was a famous because its vanilla pods. I love gourmand scents (not the cloying ones) and I think Mme. Zarokian elevated them to the highest standard recently, with Amouage Material using vanilla too. Maison Tahite VaneXstasy and Lucien Ferrero take a different approach with heavy and rich ingredients without overwhelming the palette and our palate. The hedonist dessert of a fluffy and creamy coconut-caramel mousse, with deep vanilla flavor in a cedar trees courtyard with sandal burning. Great! I Live in Spain, EU

  • The review caught my attention with “ a bite of a chocolate parfait, covered in caramel sauce and topped with whipped coconut cream.” I am most exited by the tartness in the heart of the fragrance and the “light mousse texture” as a balance to the richness. Illinois, US.

  • This is a dangerous fragrance given it s nature. Or is this nature given by your wonderfull review! Vanilla absolute, coconut and caramel… Sounds like it would be a delight to wear this, and i would be a walking dessert. Thank you for this chance! Greetings from Romania!

  • From Olya’s review of VaneXstasy, it seems VaneXstasy is a very well-balanced perfume with no note overwhelming the other. Not many listed notes, so it seems to be a simple, well-designed delightful fragrance, good for spring and summer. Thanks for the draw. From USA.

  • Jake Dauod says:

This perfume sounds so delicious. I love gourmand fragrances, and the notes in this one with the way the fragrance is described… absolutely gorgeous. I am so intrigued by the fruitiness that Olya mentions, and I can’t say I’ve tried a vanilla fragrance that manages to have that feel to it. I think the campaign is also lovely because the pictures of Jaipur are absolutely gorgeous. I have never been there but I really want to go now! I think it’s quite remarkable that Lucien Ferrero was able to make such a rich blend not cloying. This perfume checks all the boxes for me. I would love love love to get my nose on this one. Kind regards from IN, USA.

  • “Pure hedonism”. Hell yes, that’s what perfume is all about. Enjoying the small thing in life like fragrance and delicious sweets. The vanilla is balanced by other complementary notes. Sweet but never immature.

  • GennyLeigh says:

This is a sultry summer gourmand. Coconut, caramel and vanilla on a wood base? Yum! It has me dreaming of tropical climes. MD, USA.

  • wandering_nose says:

Oh, how indecently yummy this fragrance sounds! And those visuals, just heavenly… Thank you Olya for the review – I feel such perfumes have the ability to make people’s lives better by adding some sultry deliciousness to any chosen moment. I am a major vanilla lover too, and a take on vanilla where there is no darkness or spiciness sounds as genius as it is daring. The balsamic richness lurking in the base has my heart and soul at its knees. I would love to wear VaneXtasy. Thank you from Dublin, Ireland, EU

  • Maison Tahite does chocolate and vanilla very well. Vanexstasy is one of a couple I still haven’t tried, but it sounds amazing. Olya describes it as a chocolate parfait covered in caramel sauce and coconut whipped cream, which makes me want this that much more. Like Olya, I also love vanilla and there are so many different takes on this diverse note. It’s very interesting that she picks up on a fruitiness, although there are no fruity notes listed. Vanexstasy sounds like a must-have for any vanilla lover and I would absolutely love a bottle of this delight. Thank you, Olya, for the enticing review, and thank you to Maison Tahite for the giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • sephrenia300 says:

Fascinating review Olya! What strikes me about Olya’s review of Maison Tahite VaneXstasy is how she describes it as a lighthearted, “mischievous” vanilla that is effortless and almost fruity, and yet although the ingredients are heavy and rich, it’s blended in a way that the palette does not get overwhelmed. I tend to get overwhelmed by gourmand scents, so a lighter, fun, and mischievous version sounds right up my alley! I live in the US.

  • Skin.On.Me says:

Olya described this so luscious I don’t know if I wanna eat it or smell it… Ingredients are more like a cake recipe and I just looooove gourmet perfumes!

I love vanilla and VaneXtasy has plenty of it! Add some caramel and coconut milk and you are definitely in for a treat! Really nice! Many thanks for the giveaway. I am based in the EU.

  • Great review Olya!!! Loved reading it! All of Maison Tahite fragrances sound incredibly good, almost edible gourmands! This one also seems amazing, like Van2 and Sel Vanille! The note listing of Coconut milk, Caramel accord, Vanilla absolute, Balsam, Sandalwood, Cedarwood sound incredible!

  • Beautiful review by Olya. I consider perfumery an art and with gourmands like Maison Tahite VaneXstasy being a artsy culinary dessert experience. I desire the deliciousness and hedonism of this fragrance.lover. I live in USA.

  • Thank you so much Olya for this review. Gourmand fragrances are some of the fragrances I prefer the most in the perfumery world. VaneXstasy seems like something I would love. When I started reading the review I could feel in my mouth (and in my nose) all those sweet notes that are so delicious and lovely to try in a perfume.
Would really love to win this and have it for myself.
    I live in the USA.

  • It never crossed my mind that experiencing a gourmand fragrance could be “more satisfactory” than tasting an actual dessert that inspired the fragrance because we can savour it for a longer time. And actually I agree with this.
    Thank you for this review.

  • Claumarchini says:

I must say that I have a controversial relationship with vanilla (and coconut) : I like it in cakes but not in tea, I like vanilla-based body and hand creams, but not in all perfumes, especially when it is the predominant note and not just a base note. But I totally agree with Olya about VaneXstasy: it is sweet, no doubt, but there is a certain tartness, a hint of sour in the back, that makes the scent not overwhelmingly sweet, and really really enjoyable. I didn’t know it was inspired by the wonderful Jaipur, a truly amazing city, full of artistic beauties and lovely people, thanks for this great review, as always! Greetings from Italy

  • Gourmand notes???!!! I’m in!!!! I love love gourmand fragrances and coconut? Heavens!!!! I would love to try Maison Tahite VaneXstasy!!! I’m from Massachusetts, USA.

  • VaneXstasy sounds like a really intense vanilla fragrance. Olya’s description and comparison of this fragrance to a parfait was informative. VaneXstasy seems to be a well blended layered fragrance.

  • Who doesn’t love a good vanilla fragrance?! This sounds wonderful! I chuckled at the quote “This is a flirtatious encounter with zero strings attached”. LOL! I love gourmand scents that focus on vanilla. I’ve never heard of this perfume before so I’d be so eager to try this fragrance as my first experience with them.

  • Never tried anything from this house, but I love gourmand fragrances, so this is right up my alley. Thanks!

  • I’m very interested to try something from this house. I’ve heard that they use high-quality vanilla and that they use it in a good way. I’m interested to see what the cedarwood and the sandalwood are like in combination with the vanilla and caramel. I’m also interested to see what the perceived fruitiness is like. I live in the U.S.A.
